You always like to make a parents, don't you? Okay.
Had to go take it squeaky toy away.
I mean, if he squeaks a little bit, I feel like most listeners will be okay. I think we got a lot of dog.
It would be annoying.
It's like my kids.
They were out here playing with the, you know, bunch of toys and being louder, they could be, like, just a moment ago.
So my mom e you an email with a breakdown of everything.
You get that I've got it.
I'm looking at it right now.
I'll be referencing it during the show because, well, I'm not memorizing all this.
Oh, yeah. I mean, I'm gonna do the same thing.
So my mom managed to get my daughter's really loud.
Can you take the squeaky toys away from him? Yeah.
You keep taking them, they keep giving it to him.
Something like that.
Super keep puppy.
I'm up at our families River house, and there's a wonderful little nine or 10 year old puppy running around that zone area.
Anybody? Is he once weeks? How old is he? Nine or 10.
not really a puppy anymore.
He's kind of full from something like that.
He's kind of right now.
You could nine or 10 years old.
How old is rough? Um, one world weeks. Weeks.
He said years before I It threw me off, so yeah.
Um, but anyway, so it's been an implement.
Looks like you got nine and live here.
We should probably fire it up.
What do you think? Yeah, I'm ready to go.
Let's do it to it.
I'm gonna I'm gonna hand it to you for the Inter.
Unless you want me to go ahead and do it.
Welcome back to the gridiron ratings show or on Twitter at Gridiron Rating.
I'm on Twitter at Ronnie a.
Evans NFL Di Matteo on my your left.
Underscore. Di Matteo.
We got I got a little puppy on the ground right here.
He's about a little beast you've ever seen.
Pretty much the entire fancy industry.
He's probably the cutest dog ever.
And that includes my man, but yes, so interesting day so far.
Done okay so far with the picks this morning, we didn't have Jeff around causes one of his his mother in laws.
So we had a good deal with that.
And I'm up at the river.
The things are a little disjointed, but still doing our thing.
See if we can pull up.
You still there? Yeah.
Yeah, I'm still here.
I'm hanging out, man.
I'm just letting you get through the field so I could provide some color when you're ready.
Go ahead with what? What way? Actually have a game so far, we'll pull your sheets up.
We actually do have some breaking news.
It's probably not breaking now.
Is breaking about an hour, maybe hour and a half ago.
Theo Athletic is currently reporting that Dan Quinn will be fired.
Is the Atlanta Falcons head coach Monday or Tuesday? So the Dan Quinn area over Hey, should have been fired last season.
I think we can all agree on that.
You know, the team really saved his job.
You know, they had a kind of a valiant comeback, if you will.
You know, when you come out and show the way you have the last two weeks, you take a bad loss.
The division opponent that you should have beaten.
You're still over like, Are they suddenly in the charter? Lawrence Hunt like, Is that what this team is right now? Well, I was shocked.
I thought for sure they were going to pull out a win against the Panthers, who I think are an average team, and they looked like they weren't even invested in the game.
It's like they knew that their coach was getting fired and nobody was there to coach them during the week.
They looked really bad all across the board.
Yeah, hopefully, this will be a little boost for that team will see a boost out of Matt Ryan next week.
The way we kind of got a little bit of boost out of Shawn Watson this week with no Bill O'Brien.
But one other piece of news that we had come down the pike.
If you're a Michael Thomas owner, the good news is it seems like he's healthy enough to play.
The bad news is he was suspended by the team for this week's game for some degree of conduct detrimental to the team.
There have not been a lot of details released at this moment as what that is, or how he managed to infuriate Sean Payton to such a point of players suspension for arguably their best offensive player.
All due respect to Alvin Kamara and Drew Brees.
Um, man, that's Ah, maybe trouble.
Trouble in paradise.
It sounds like down there in New Orleans.
Yeah, what the heck? I started Michael Thomas and two of my lineup because I thought he was coming back this week and then, apparently, he's been out ****ing around, not being a good boy.
It's like, Come on, man, that's not what I need.
I need you back.
I've already spent three weeks without you.
I need you back here for week number five.
And you know, if your unfortunately like, there's not a lot of games left for you to pick from.
And not only that, but of the few games left, one of them might not even happen with the Titans.
And so hopefully you can find a replacement for him.
But if not, you have to find a replacement, though for a guy like Mike Thomas who's arguably the best wide receiver in football, I mean, he's in that conversation least, uh, the real question becomes here, you know, redrafted.
We hold on to this guy, like, is it Can you sell them right now? We don't know.
Someone, Um I would buy if somebody was selling cheap right now.
I'd buy him, assuming he comes back in place.
He's a top five asset of the position.
So, like, fantastic.
But I don't know what's going on.
I mean, we have to see what other news comes out with that.
I I heard about it from you because I'm up there at the river and all my my seller exceptions all wax.
So I'm not giving my typical updates.
Yeah, I've been back and forth to the Outlaws house here, and I managed to pick up a little bit of news, and it shocked me because this hasn't been a normal Sunday around here, we've been doing a lot of running in a lot of clean up, have a mess.
But but yeah, when I heard about that, it threw me for a loop because I have Michael Thomas in a ton of leagues.
You know, I have a men, you know, a bunch of big tournaments, and then I have them in some are redraft leagues and a keeper league, and I'm really stressed out right now, but we'll, uh We'll take a look at that.
And maybe Monday we could talk a bit more about ramifications in terms of potential trades, waivers what that should look like if the sense of being, say, a multi game suspensions.
Yeah, I think that will be a good thing to revisit on Monday, but definitely a shocker.
Um, wasn't expecting that.
We'll see what happens in that game.
I pick up truck win or that Trey Quinn, track one. Smith.
What am I saying here? Thank you.
One of them is better than the other.
Super weird update.
Any other crazy news that you ran across? Yeah.
Actually, there is one other piece coming out of Washington.
Dwayne Haskins did not actually show up to the stadium today, so he was not traveling as part of that.
It's apparently for Riel.
E ready report from one of their beat writers that he has the flu and like, it's actually has the flu.
I don't I don't know if he just got him Stuff.
Six he was upset or what, but could be that there's been some grumblings, I guess, around league circles saying that Dwayne Haskins is currently available for trade Also.
Yeah, I saw that Washington is prepared to move on from him. Now.
The question is, how does that impact the guy like Terry McLaurin? Yeah, we saw Kyle Allen this week.
He didn't look good. We saw Alex Smith.
He threw a pass.
He is officially the NFL's comeback player of the year.
I don't even think there should be a debate.
They should name the trophy after him at this point.
But these two guys were not exactly known for setting up a stud number one wide receiver on the brink of a major break out.
Haskins at least knew the guy from college.
So there's a built in report.
Haskins goes away.
What does that do to Terry McLaurin? I'm thinking arrows pointing down right now, right? Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know what to think of that.
I think he'll be fine.
I mean, still, it's like who else we're gonna throw Thio? That's true.
It's I think the tight ends actually become more and more, you might get a bump.
Um, but yeah, I don't I don't know.
I don't really know what to do that with that.
I'm trying to pull up really quick just to see, um, box score We could look a little bit closer out of on Monday, But that's something where it should be monitored.
Because with no Haskins in their quarterback, I think there's a noticeable dip for Terry McLaurin.
Unless it's an absolute cake matchup.
So if you're invested in that offense, it all Antonio Gibson, Terry MacLaurin.
You know, the tight ends actually get a little bit of a bump, you know, going going the right way.
But suddenly the number 23 those other receivers guys who maybe took Steven Sims with a flyer.
You know, you grab any of these other guys and deeper formats you got in trash them now because they're not worth anything.
Get agree with that.
We'll see what happens with it.
I mean, I was talking.
We were talking about Logan mostly last week, the week before, about a pick up a tight end.
I still think that stands, um, Didn't really have a nobody had a great game today with Washington.
Alex Smith played, I think, earlier than they were expecting him to after Kyle.
Album got injured, right? So I don't know.
I'm avoiding Redskin players when I can.
Right now, until things Washington football, You use the R word about every week so far.
At some point, I'll get good.
Now stop saying it.
I'm gonna get an actual square garden and put a quarter in every time. A.
So ESPN likes the auto play music in the background when I opened their websites.
It's pretty terrible, but I think we're ready to go ahead of the games now.
We had a lot of news.
That's more than we usually have.
Yeah, for sure, looking at the pics and everything.
So I guess I would start with the balconies and the Panthers.
We talked about it a little bit at the beginning.
They look terrible.
They should not be terrible.
They have a good roster, but they're playing like the Jets, and they didn't even start off hot this week.
They just fell on their face.
My had taken the over.
I've picked Atlanta win.
I picked them to cover the two naff spread.
Obviously wrong on all three of those accounts.
Uh, but that said I did mention Calvin Ridley to start.
Um, Robert Anderson is well, both those guys lead their teams and targets.
And then Russell Gauge.
I think he got nicked up halfway through the game, but he didn't do anything.
So that was a fantasy wise as well.
Russ gauged it, even get off the bus.
And so he was He was a bust for you.
And yeah, I think he could get banged up.
But, you know, how about Todd Gurley? Yeah, Yes, we look good.
Pretty excited about that.
Hopefully we start seeing more and more of that and especially the passing game, like they actually targeted him a few times this this week.
And that matters if Todd Gurley's make any more noise for this team.
From a fantasy standpoint, he's got to do in the passing game because he can't be expected to carry it 270 times to get you to 1200 yards.
It's just not gonna happen.
So yeah, uh, team, though they definitely look a little lost, you know, Dan Quinn lost the locker room, and that's usually where it's time to just turn and burn on the coach.
Uh, they're cutters.
Still the offensive coordinator there, right? I believe so.
I think so, too.
And so that's why he has an inside shot to be the interim.
It's either gonna be him over.
So they have two guys have head coaching experience.
One of them will be the interim.
And if it's cutter, my expectation is to see this offense kind of go back in time a little bit.
We might see a little bit more of that Falcons offense from like, you know, call it 2018 2017 where the running backs for a lot more involved out of the backfield, you know, is more.
They focused on kind of one receiver.
You know, it was receiver one receiver, two tight end kind of got phased out a little bit.
So it's something worth keeping an eye on for sure.
And I watched that game today and the Panthers.
Um, well, it just seemed like the Falcons offensive line, in particular, wasn't really, like didn't have their head in the game because panthers just ate alive the entire game.
So what happens is that I don't think a Panthers defense to their around their first round pick is no joke.
He's the real deal and he anchors that whole thing.
And if he becomes the player we expect him to be, everyone starts looking bad all of a sudden.
Jeremy Chin on the back half, you got some speed at corner like there a young fast group.
When they figure out how to play, they're gonna be pretty scary.
I think that with the Falcons, see if they can put it together.
But they have at least been great for fantasy up until this week.
And so I don't expect, like this week, I would just ignore it.
Seemed like the team was already checked out.
So today get back in the swing of teams.
I feel like they have an offense that's talented enough that they should be able to run on autopilot.
Eso I'm not too worried about any of their players, at least for fantasy.
Well, Julio, being out certainly didn't help, you know, to get him back next week.
You know, with an interim coach like there's potential to see something bounced back, for sure for sure.
Um, let's move on to the Raiders and the Chiefs, which was the surprise game of the week, Um, hit on the over, definitely correct there, but expected cancer today to win, and they didn't.
And I imagine I am one of many people this week who thought that, um, Raiders played out of their mind on pretty much both sides of the ball.
I mean, they did as good as you could for containing the Kansas City offense, but really offensively, like the Raiders were rolling, they looked really, really good.
And it was It was just interesting to see them do that to the Chiefs.
I know inter divisional games can always be kind of funky, but I was really shocked with us that the outcome of that game yeah, it was actually fun to see the Raiders do.
Some do some things that I lost.
You know, Big Splash plays.
You had Booker with long run.
You had Henry rugs was like, what, two for 1 18 in the touchdown eso He had the two big catches there.
There was a you know, uh, just a hodgepodge of big plays for the Raiders, and I don't think we expect to see that from them every week.
The Chiefs typically are a better defense.
They play against Tyree, killing all those guys in practice every day.
So you think they figure out how to contain a guy like rugs, But we definitely saw some big holes in that defense this week.
Well, it was interesting because I had said Just start all your Chiefs players and all of them did Okay.
I mean, the whole argument only had two catches, but he went for 50 yards.
Um, Darren Waller.
I pointed out the Raiders five or 48 1.
I was actually kind of tentative on drugs.
I wasn't sure what his workload was gonna be, but obviously he had a blow up game, and then Renfro didn't really play in the game after the first quarter, so I'm not really sure what's going on there.
I think he might have got nicked up a little bit, but the game basically ran through Jacobs car and rugs, and then, while I was there to clean up the rest, Sure, on the flip side, though not worried about the Chiefs, not worry about the homes, whatever it is, what it is.
Um, but, you know, shocker.
They lost, I imagine.
To come out swinging next week.
I mean, the chiefs are gonna be just fine.
I mean, nobody expected them to go 16 and no, they're pretty good, but they're not 16 and no good.
Oh, you okay? An illusion? No, I'm still here.
I think my connection at this river houses pretty bad.
Um, you cut out their birthday? You, But, um, whatever you said, I agree with it.
E could have said anything.
Yeah, let's go ahead and move on, just just for the sake of it.
There wasn't really much else to cover in that.
Look at anything else to add Good, um, Jags, Texans, I you know, looking back at that game, I expected the Texans to win.
I expected a bounce back.
I thought the Bill o Brien exile was going to be a good thing for the team.
Correct on all the fronts.
Three for three on that game, just in terms of like, picking and Vegas lines.
But then also outside of D J.
I mean, we brought up John Watson, Will Fuller.
James Robertson actually didn't really have that great of a game by his standards, but still 18 touches for 80 yards.
Gj dark. So it was.
It was really the Chanel show and the Cuban coal show e don't know what happened with him.
I don't know if his injuries reaggravated him, but he only had four targets.
And it was just kind of shocking to see that, especially considering the Jags were behind so much.
Yeah, there's, you know, we talked about this last week, right? You know, kind of that regression of the Jaguars offense.
And the whole thing has to kind of run through D.
J H Arc, and it doesn't seem like he's right just yet.
He's out there, he's running around.
He's running around passes.
But if he's not 100% this offense can't run the way it's meant to.
And killing Coal isn't gonna carry it. Not that guy.
Long discussion all.
He's still a gadget kind of guy, and he could do some things, but I don't really trust him Teoh to be the fantasy asset we would expect him to be.
That deejay shark has been the last couple years sure, Sure I can agree with that.
I just went outside because there's too many people in my place right now in there.
It's like a wide open, But can you hear the river? Negative.
I am, like, right by the river.
Uh, we didn't bring way.
Didn't bring your water wings, so don't fall in E.
I want my my floaties.
Yeah, Warm floats moving on to the next game.
We've got cardinals at jets.
Um, Arizona cleaned up in that game.
They did what we expected.
I thought the over under was a little high.
They did not score.
Many points is they get Thought they would so correct there.
Flacco Look terrible.
The Jets look terrible all to be expected.
Edmunds continues to look better than Kenyan.
Drake brought him up as somebody that you could start in your flex this week.
Um, but Murray did find 3.
81 1, and then he also had a rushing touchdown.
Kenyan Drake had a perfectly fine stat line.
By the time the game was over, Chase Edmunds had a perfectly fantastic stat line for a guy that you were started in your flex and DeAndre Hopkins on the opposite end.
Uh, 61 31 and one.
I mean, that was nice to see.
That's what I like from my boyfriend.
He's got a late start.
This game didn't start the way we expected it to, you know, really, I think he had two catches in the first half.
Yeah, it was something like that.
And they weren't for a whole lot of yards, either.
So Murray was a little shaky at first.
If you take that touchdown off this stat line, he's You spent a late one or early two on this guy.
Most drafts he's not delivering, he is a bust.
He needs to be off your roster in a hurry.
If you can trade him, Do it because I think before this thing's over, Chase Edmunds is the new number one, probably by I'm thinking before fantasy playoff time.
And so I got Edmunds in a lot of places.
Just for that reason, he looks better every time he touches the ball.
He looks better than Drake, so right, he's more explosive.
He's more weapons, kind of at his disposal.
Bussell, that I feel like drinks.
But regardless, Drake probably get off your roster sooner rather than later.
Hopefully, be a trade.
So you're not, you know, completely dead on him.
Uh, you know, I would have liked to have seen a little bit more out of Kyler Murray from a decision making standpoint.
I still feel like he's being tentative.
He's not getting rid of the ball quickly enough.
You know, that line for Hopkins is really good, and I felt like we saw some sparks and some glimpses at a Christian Kirk.
That's the guy I want to see.
Get some more love right now because if Drake can Vera Drake, I'm sorry Murray can drop back, make quick decisions to get the ball out quickly.
The way is meant to.
Kirk is gonna really benefit.
Kirk and Hopkins both have that capability, or we could be talking next season 2021 that both of those guys are in the top 12 wide receivers overall.
But it all hinges on Murray and his ability to not wait too long to get rid of all.
I agree with that.
Think Murray is just kind of still unrefined product, but you know, we'll see if he can pull together.
I have faith that he will be like him as a long term prospect.
I think he's a great player.
But yeah, there's definitely something between the ears that needs to be sped up a little bit for sure, for sure.
And then lastly, Steelers Eagles.
This game was wild.
I actually thought the Eagles, we're gonna win the game and the Steelers really pulled away in the last eight minutes.
But I love Deonte Johnson.
I thought he was going to do great.
He got dinged up very early on, and it turned into the Chase Claypool show.
I mean, like, that was one of the more incredible fantasy performances of the year, let alone for a rookie.
He was everywhere, doing everything, and I was curious what you thought about, like who the wide receiver one is for them moving forward.
I don't think there is one.
Yeah, I think I think the problem of this team is that they can have a different guy.
Be the wide receiver.
Want any given week? This week I was putting my money on juju, thinking Deontay Johnson's in the lineup on the outside, Deontay would pull the Darius Slay assignment.
Get juju moving around.
He's at his best in the slot.
Anyway, I'm thinking Juju is gonna go ahead and put up 10 catches, 110 yards.
I'm throwing him in.
DFS lineups left and right, and he did nothing.
Chase play pool is getting, you know, Jet action pitches.
You know, from the two yard line for a touchdown.
He's catching long touchdowns.
This guy was He was like Visa, man.
He was everywhere.
You want to pay and you know, you already said, You know, this guy had a great day by any standard, not just by rookie standards, but he's not a guy that I'm gonna run out and go add, because I don't know if we could count on that every week.
It could be a Judy week.
It could be a Deontay Johnson week, you know.
I mean, maybe I'll be willing to grab Big Ben because the offense looks pretty efficient, and maybe I'm willing to grab Ben is a bye week Flyer, a quarterback, but I'm not necessarily investing in the various weapons at its disposal Yeah.
I mean, it's one of those things where I like them as flecks of plates right now, because if you hit on, whichever one of the three guys, that is that week E leave winner.
Anyone started Chase Claypool on D EFS this week.
They're probably in the top 10% especially in read athletes.
Like I started the Auntie Johnson.
He hurt me in a lot of leads.
He actually cut your legs off, is what happened.
Um, it's negative points and one of my leads.
Uh, but if I had started Claypool, it would have been credible.
So it's like one of those boomer bust things I'm always an advocate of looking at the other teams line up.
And if it looks like you need just like a balls to the wall, wild performance from your team, then you play those tie volatility.
Four guys that essentially have lower floors.
Um, if it's a safer game, then don't play any of the Steelers Super's right.
And then with that game also, James Connor did Okay.
I mean, totaled 74 yards and had a touchdown.
Didn't really look amazing.
Didn't look terrible.
Big Ben did his thing.
Um, there wasn't really a whole lot to take away from that side of all, but on the Eagles side, they just as a team looked like they really kind of figured it out, are starting to turn the corner.
Um, they had every chance to win this game and weren't able to, but, like they played well, really, For the first time this year, I thought the Eagles I was like, All right, all right.
You know, this is the Eagles team everyone thought we were getting before the season started.
Yeah, there's the Eagles.
Need to do something.
And that's something that was still they gotta figure how to get the ball.
They target them six times.
Hit one catch for six yards.
This offense can Onley really go as he goes there? Tight end group matters.
Yeah, You got got hurt hurt.
You've got hurts.
He's been your all world tight end for the last several years.
You gave him big money, like figure out a way to get this guy open.
Like getting the ball of the tight end Shouldn't be this hard.
You see what the 40 Niners to do with Kelsey.
Kelsey does with the Chiefs.
Waller for the Raiders.
Like there's, you know, Andrews for the Ravens.
Like there's a ton of tight ends in the league, right? How they're making big plays for their teams.
They're finding ways to skin them open.
He's the best receiver he needs to be schemed open, and you need to get him in the rock.
You know, uh, they're not gonna win games until he gets more involved.
I don't know if they're gonna win a lot of games anyway, but, um, yeah, they still got some stuff to figure out.
But overall, the team as a whole, I thought, played a lot better.
Uh, and then really quickly here just just to wrap up.
I forgot to put this in the notes, but the Ravens Bengals was the other game.
And in that game, not the Bengals.
We're gonna do something.
Um, they didn't Joe Burrow didn't actually really look, that great offensive line was atrocious.
It was terrible.
Awful insult the turnstiles.
Joe McMahon had another previous three week Joe Mixon game.
Nothing like Week four.
And do you know anything different, though? Because at the end, of the day.
The Ravens are a team were in the preseason.
I was looking at them as a Super Bowl caliber team at no point that I think the Bengals were a Super Bowl caliber team.
This game, as it should have, the old line has never been considered good.
They didn't really do a whole heck of a lot to address it. Accept. Forget Jonah Williams.
Back from injury.
You get Bobby Heart still there, and he is awful.
Then you've got the rookie quarterback.
Green gets hurt again.
They got a funnel the ball to Tyler Boyd.
He's the most competent receiver, and we need to get more Tee Higgins near the goal line.
But to get him near the goal line, guess what? You got to be near the goal line and they can't even get into field goal range right now. Like this stop.
It doesn't look good, especially against the Ravens defense that has the best secondary in football.
They probably the fastest linebacker group in football, and they added a bunch of hog Molly's upfront on that D line.
Like they they've got it all three levels defensively and I don't know if you actually had a chance to watch the game.
The only highlight I got to catch was Marlon Humphrey punching out a fumble on Mike Thomas.
He catches a little little whip route, Marlon Humphrey gets a tackle, pops the ball out, Patrick Queen grabs it house call.
And there was nobody for the Bengals, even in the vicinity of the run back.
So I'm just looking at that.
I'm like, really you couldn't get Nobody could get an angle is like a 40 yard run back.
Like Did they quit? I didn't get the all 22 on that.
I'm interested to see it.
But there's been some grumblings about a guy like Zach Taylor.
Is he gonna be around to help groom Joe Burrow? Yeah.
Games like this week we're having competitive.
I mean, they were bad.
Um, I don't even know what to say about it. I mean, they look terrible.
Baltimore is near talk to your, if not the best team in the NFL.
But still, it's a divisional game.
Usually want to play those close.
They looked totally outclassed on both sides of the ball.
Um, s O I mean with that one picked Baltimore toe win, which was an obvious one pick.
But the fact that they had shut out Cincinnati was just insulting, or they did.
They shut him out.
Okay, Uh, I think that one let me pull it up real quick, but, um, I'll let you know, e keep all my scores hidden.
So if it takes me a second to pull everything up three or something like that, Yeah, I think they might have gotten a field goal out of that.
It was pretty terrible.
Yeah, I was 24 to 6.
That's what it was.
4 to 6. That's Yeah, it's pretty terrible.
Um, not to go off topic, but we do have some news.
Dak Prescott just went down with an injury.
Um, I had one of my one of my friends here who has some sports injury.
Uh, experience will put it that way.
I wouldn't call an orthopedic surgeon or anything, but he said it looks like there could be a break in a dislocation involved.
And so he he just text me, said, Doc is done.
That's a break in a dislocation, so I haven't even seen it I don't even know what's been dislocated or broken.
But if you're watching the Cowboys and the Giants feel free to chat and let us know what's going on, I can't see that game.
I have the 40 Niners Dolphins, you know, dumpster fire on my TV right now.
And I understand, man.
You know, come on, coming some slack here.
I'm just I really hate myself.
So I'm watching the 40 Niners get hammered by the Dolphins.
However, if Dak is down and say he misses a considerable amount of time, we know it's gonna be Andy Dalton that comes in.
We got the red rifles.
It's going to show up.
We're looking at a bunch of weapons on that Cowboys offense that air suddenly.
I got cowboys pulled up on this other TV now, um, that are really, really valuable.
And we spent a lot of draft capital on What are we doing with them? How do we replace Dak? If you got back a quarterback and you're in, say, a 14 or 16 team league where now it's like, you know, there's only skank on the waiver wire.
