And welcome into this morning's broadcast here on SportsCastr I am Samuel Ray is coming to you live here on SportsCastr Happy Saturday morning.
We get right into the weekend with a very intriguing French Open women's final this morning from Roland Garros in Paris, France.
It's IGA sh Montek taking on Sofia Kenin from court Philippe Chatrier All right, we're ready to get things going.
Start with France six hours ahead of the Eastern time zone here stateside Eagles Font Tech Just an incredible story.
The 18 year old was a qualifier and it never got passed around to 16.
The Grand Slam has never won any event whatsoever.
And here she is in the French Open woman's final as Kennan is unable to return the first serve and the woman's championship underway from Roland Garros Fintech serving to start the match on the near side and canon on the far side, where the sun is Currently.
The shade covering about 3/4 of the court and unable to return again is Sofia Kenin, 30.
Love start for Beyond tech, and that will be key first beyond tech she needs to get off to a good a good service game, and that could go a long way for her.
And obviously, Kenan's the favorite.
But by no means does that mean it's gonna be an easy win for her.
And I wouldn't be surprised if she on Tech upset Cannon.
Actually, the poll The Polish uh qualifier hasn't dropped a set this whole tournament so far.
It's a good backhand return from Kenan.
We have our first rally of the match and unlock e break for Kenan as it took a bounce off the net and dropped down to make it 40 love.
There are some Spectators allowed maximum of 1000 Spectators allowed at Roland Garros.
That's the way it's been throughout the tournament, and it is nice to see that it is a very nice Saturday afternoon in France.
The sun is shining bright.
This past week there has been a lot of rain, rain, The temperatures have been cold, especially for the games.
For the match is that have gone into the night, which won't be an issue here as Sri on Tech on the forehand makes it one nothing so uneasy.
First game for egos.
Fionn Tech and now Sofia Kenin will serve for the first time, Sofia Kenin, just 21 years of age.
She won the Australian Open earlier this year, and if Kenan wins the French Open today, she'll become the youngest player to win two Grand Slams in the year since.
A good 15 years ago or so 5 ft seven from Pembroke Pines, Florida Canon, representing the U.
24 8 2020 singles record.
And this is her best French Open result over here as a finalist, and she wants more than just being in the final.
She wants to win it all here, and usually she is the young one.
But today it's her opponent that's actually three years younger than her at the age of 18 which is remarkable so can now serving on the near side, where there's the shade and no return There from Fionn Tech, 15 Love Kenan on the road to the final, beat Samson ova in three sets and around one Bogdan and three sets Barra in to Pharaoh and three Collins and three and then cavity of a in the semis in two sets.
Oh, great forehand shot from the baseline there.
Just playing it patiently and it's 15 all.
Thank you for joining the broadcast, Jane.
I appreciate it.
First Servas long from Kenan, remember? Best of three and the woman's match best of five in the men's Djokovic.
Nadal with a final that should be tomorrow in the men's championship.
Fiance closes in forces cannon back, and that shot will be wide because Fionn Tech, just 19 years of age, is I mentioned 5 ft nine from Rogen, Poland, or 2020 singles record 13 and five.
And this also, of course, is their best French Open result.
Getting to the final here in 2020.
Oh, this is by far her best major, uh, her best Grand Slam result.
I should say she she's never got passed around 16 before.
This here is her road to the final.
She's won all her matches in straight sets, took down Vandross over in the first round, then CIA in the second round.
Bouchard jalape Trevi son and then Paula Rosca in the semis got a rally here, powerful shot on the forehand and Nashville on Tech closing in, and Canon sends it wide.
So she on tech, applying the pressure and taking it to Sofia Kenin.
And just like that, it's break point for her 30 40.
Have some crowd noise.
Obviously, it's nowhere near being full capacity.
Just fans scattered throughout.
But at least you have a little bit of an atmosphere here in the final and a slice here from Kenan Font text going to get there, the cross court shot and the rallies still going Ken.
And now we'll send it along.
So he goes beyond tech, fighting hard early on and when wins, the break point early on in this first set takes a two nothing lead, and now she'll serve well.
You could clearly tell that she's playing with an extreme amount of confidence.
There's no doubt about that.
I mean, she hasn't lost a set.
No one knew about her coming into this tournament, literally.
Nobody, including myself, and she's broke out here in the French Open and spend remarkable to nothing.
She on Tech leads in the first set.
Yeah, drop shot from Fionn Tech and Kenan can't get there.
What a little cheeky shot from egos.
Fionn Tech that is a perfectly executed drop shot.
She put the backspin on it.
And on these clay courts, the back spins even more effective at times.
And look at the points 19 to Xian Tech in that category.
Yeah, we gotta let service and Canon with an unforced error.
Can't return to serve on the backhand.
And it's 30 love Chevy in Tech.
Yeah, John Tech has not dropped a set or face the set point through the semifinals.
That's just incredible.
And another effective serve that cannon sends wide.
Nothing or sorry, It's 40.
Love from Fionn take a chance to go up.
Nothing with game point.
Fionn Tech Cruising here in this first set so far.
Still the early stages, but a very promising start for the 19 year old qualifier out of Poland.
That's a lot First service, obviously, the French Open this year due to the Cove in 19 pandemic taking place in a completely different time of the year than it usually does.
Obviously, French Open is usually before both Wimbledon and the U.
Open at the end of main beginning of June.
This time around, it's the end of September and early October here, so the conditions are very different this time around.
It's been chilly at times in this tournament, but it seems like a pretty nice day today.
Second serve in tonight's return.
That's exactly what Sofia Kenin wanted down the line in the back hands, and that makes it 40 15.
Thank you for joining the broadcast, Michael.
I appreciate it, man.
Hope you're doing well on this Saturday morning.
Eastern time. Start for this French Open woman's file.
Local time in France and the return can't get over for Kenan.
And so from Cha creates a three nothing lead in this first set for ego should be on tech.
A nice start for her.
It's the woman's final in the French Open.
The actual continues.
After this, I'll be back.
Welcome back, everybody.
A three love lead in this opening set for English Fionn Tech over the American Sophia Kenan Kenan, by the way, rank four in the world, obviously, Fionn Tech unranked as nobody really knew about air coming into this tournament.
Now I think it's safe to say a lot of people do know about her old industry on Tech.
Went for the power on the forehand shot, had a lot of time to think about it, but plays it long.
And so that ever makes it 15.
Kenan takes the first point of the fourth game in this woman's final.
That's long from Canon on the forehand shot.
She played it from her own baseline and gives the point right back to spy on Tech were level at $15.
Oh, in a beautiful serve.
The cross court serve all the way to the far base.
Far sideline, I should say.
And just place that ball perfectly out of the reach of Fionn Tech, 30 15 That servant play Canon closing in.
It's long from SRI context.
So 40 15 and Kenan starting to get more comfortable and Plame Or, like we're used to seeing Ken in play, trying to win her first game of the match here and has a chance to do it with game point and first service wide try again here on the second surf.
Thanks everyone for tuning into the broadcast.
Thanks for the tip.
Much appreciated Michael second service and play in a rally of the four hands lob shot from Kenan.
It isn't play, and they continue drop shot from cannons, Fiance closing in and Canon gets the wrong way.
Kenan was pretty confident that Fionn Tech was going to her left, but instead Fionn Tech went to a right just right down the line Instead of going cross court.
So 40 30 for Kenan.
She'll try again to win the game cross court rally, and it's a long on the backhand from she context.
So now 31 is the score here in the opening set.
Sofia Kenin at last wins her first game of this woman's final.
Appreciate you guys getting up.
Depending on where you are in the country, it is pretty early in some places.
Start for this one here on the East Coast.
Central, seven Mountain and six Specific Out West in Nashville.
Serving still up by two games, 31 The score on that cross court shot is wide on the forehand, feeling Texas making a few more missed aches, and it's giving Kenmore confidence.
It feels like Alexander Kennan is the dad of Sofia Kenin and her coaches well, unique relationship there, with Kennan's dad being her coaches.
Well, first service long.
Here comes the second serve from Fionn Tech.
That's in play, but the return is long.
There's too much power on the backhand from the American makes it 15 all.
Obviously, Sofia Kenin broke through in that unbelievable Australian Open performance and caught the attention of many now rank four in the world and trying to win the French Open here and got her second Grand Slam in the calendar year.
Another fault on the first serve, second one in play and a cross court return put to perfection.
And it's 15 30 Sofia Kenin, really starting to play with a lot more confidence and thank you, Kyle, for joining the broadcast here on SportsCastr woman's final in the 2020 French Open from Roland Garros in the French capital of Paris.
Another error from Fionn Tech.
She plays it along on the backhand.
That makes it 15 40 15 minutes into this match, Beyonce check on off to and I start.
But Sofia Kenin trying to break here, which would be huge, and that she does a double fault from English Fionn Tech to give Ken in her second game, and now Kenan will be on served next to try to tie up this first set.
Three to Fionn Tech from Chatree.
It's the woman's final in the French Open, and it continues right after this.
So a nice comeback by Sofia Kenin This opening set.
She now just trails, 32 after dropping the first three games and now on serve to tryto try this first set up at three all.
It's where servas long.
Pretty nice afternoon, I have to say in Paris, France, at least by the looks of it, not sure exactly what the temperature is.
Oh, and that takes an unlocking bounce this time.
First Fionn Tech off the net but lands back on her side.
And it's 15 love.
During that commercial break in between games, Fionn Tech was just closing her eyes, refocusing talking to herself and trying to regain some confidence after momentum clearly swung to Kenan.
And that return is long. 30 love.
It's a great backhand shop.
It's fiancee gets there.
Nashville, closing in, nearly had returned by Canon, the good effort by the American, but the forehand cross court return just wide and that's 30 15.
That's a great first serve fiancee can't return it, and it's game point for Sofia Kenin, 40 15 and a chance to tie this first set up at three all for served just wide second service and play returned by Fionn Tech on the cross court shot just shanked wide by Canon, and that brings Viane Tech back into the game.
It's now 40 30 can in trying to avoid a deuce here in this sixth game.
Well beyond Tech definitely has plenty of athleticism to deal with the shots from Canon.
This serve returned, and now I'll rally on the backhand and Montek misses the shot down the line.
So after Svante took the first three games, Sofia Kenin takes the next three and it's three all in this opening set from Chatree. A.
Of course, going back to the 2020 Australian Open back in January.
Of course, it seems like a whole another.
Time period Cannon defeated, are being moved Arusha in three sets, just a impressive tournament down under for her in January, and she's proven that it was no fluke by any means and so Nashville Context Serving, trying to retake the lead.
All in this opening set from court Philippe Chatrier.
Hey, the main court year at the French Open on the powerful forehand shot, botched fiance paid off as Kenan sent it along on the return.
Makes it 15 love and that that that's what you know.
I think Fionn Tech needs to do more.
Uh, you know, get more, get more aggressive, send some shots her way that she that Cannon may be unable to handle.
Use some power in your game, obviously keep it in control.
But more of those shots is what we could expect going forward.
Force Fionn Tech if she wants a chance to win this match, but nothing she could do there as Kenan perfectly places that ball.
Cross court on the forehand, giving no chance.
First beyond text to return.
And it's 15 all and a lot.
This one put in play Canon closing in and the rally continues.
Fionn Tech, moving around quite a bit but still battling and wins the point nicely done by the pole, just kept herself in that point.
Kevin had the advantage, you know closing into the net, sending Fionn Tech back and forth along the baseline, but in the NGV on tax stayed patient and takes a 30 15 lead in the game.
Your Cubs, the second serve from egos Fionn Tech and it's long.
It's not the first double fault for her.
The second, as a matter of fact, reminded that tomorrow it's the men's singles final.
Novak Djokovic vs number two Rafael Nadal, 9 a.
Eastern time start for that one.
It doesn't get better than that, does it? Unfortunately, I'll be unable toe call that match because I'm I'm sleeping over my grandma's house.
But I'll definitely be tuning.
And that's for sure.
And looking back on the replay here, it was a drop shot attempt from Fionn Tech.
Well, it worked 40 30.
She missed the shot in the back hand, and you could tell that Fionn Tex frustrated with herself.
That was a chance to win the game right there.
But instead, now she puts herself in a deuce first deuce of the match, the first service long such a great start to this match first beyond tech.
But now clearly the mistakes have been coming more often, and Kenan's really on top of her game right now.
Oh, on the cross court shot egos.
Fionn Tech on the forehand puts it in.
But Kennan is going to challenge the call now here at the French Open, they refuse to use the advanced technology that we now have in the year 2020.
They do have it like there is technology, you know, just like at all the other three Grand Slams where it shows you if it was in or out.
And it was indeed in looking at the the bird's eye view of that advanced technology, but they don't use it on challenges.
The umpire literally comes down from his or her seat and and tries to see if you know the ball looked in or not, depending on the market left on the clay court, there's a little drop shot and fiancee can't make the shot, and we're back to a deuce deuce Number two, just one of those traditions that is kept by the French Open.
Definitely out of the four Grand Slams, they're the one that they're the ones that stay most traditional.
Then I'd put Wimbledon behind them and then the Australian Open and US Open pretty much adjusted to the times.
The only reason I say Wimbledon, you know, has necessarily, yes, they use the technology, but it's still traditional in a way that everyone has to wear white.
They don't have any night matches on the schedule, whereas the Australian Open US Open you have the prime time matches.
You know the players can wear what they want and the tech.
The technology is also used to its fullest advantage and advantage.
Fionn Tech on the drop shot This was beautifully executed, made Kenan come way in from the baseline.
She just couldn't get there.
Another thing about the French Open to that makes them such.
You know, traditionalists is that this is the only Grand Slam now where you play on and on and on In that final set, the third set for the woman's matches and fifth set for men's, where you have to win by two no matter what Wimbledon, in Australia, Australian and US Open have adjusted those fifth set rules in different ways.
Canon closing in.
But it's long on the forehand, and so English beyond tech takes the game and Now it's Ken in the one frustrated and unforced error.
Orange Fionn Tech Back on top of this opening set from Chatree, a theatrical continues in the woman's final, the French Open.
Right after this, stay tuned.
Welcome back in everybody, a 43 lead in this opening set of the women's final at the French Open.
She contact leading Kenan from Paris, and it's Kenan, now on serve, trying to bounce back after winning three consecutive games before Fiance took that last one.
And that's Ah, it's not much.
Fiance was looking for on that forehand shot as it goes along.
15 Love Sophia Cannon was clearly expressing her frustration after that unforced error that gives Fionn Tech the game.
That last game, which now makes it 43 can and down.
But up 15 11 the game, second service and what and Fionn check Mrs on the backhand shot, We're gonna go cross court.
It's 30 Love Kenan now trying to retake control of this opening set.
It's turning out to be a very competitive opening set in this woman's final.
Here comes the second serve from the American Sofia Kenin that's put in play, and Fionn Tech makes it 30 15 obviously, especially in the woman's game.
In the women's game, the uH first set is even more much more crucial than the men's.
In my opinion, since it's just best of three and the woman's if you drop that first said, you have to win the next to have four hands shot is wide 30.
Right back into this game.
Canon serving at 30 all and it's wine.
Put in play and the return just wide.
That was close 40 30 game point for Kenan can in trying to keep it on serve here.
This would be devastating for her if she would if she were to lose this game.
And that's why so, Kennan once again it's frustrated with herself back into induced for the second consecutive game.
She on Tech knows how huge it would be for herself if she were toe break in this game and an error there from Fionn Tech.
And she was looking at go with the little half volley and went too far.
This time around is it gives advantage to Canada and this deuce once again game point for the American can.
She take advantage is the question.
Good rally on the backhand and now the drop shot fiancee gets there.
And when's the point? Are you kidding? May English beyond tack with an incredible turn around in this rally.
First she got to the drop shot, and then Sofia Kenin went with power and Fionn Tech able to quickly adjust and return that shot and use number two.
China just unable to put this game away quite yet.
That points 13 for four first.
She's not afraid to go to the net, either.
She doesn't do it, you know all the time, but when she does, she is usually doing it for a reason.
Well, that's second service, so Kennan will try again here.
It's a double fault.
The last thing Kenan needed there, and it's advantage.
Fionn Tech break point for her Street on TAC, one for one on break points one.
And this is a chance to really take control.
This opening set another fault on the first serve, and the confidence now going right back to Xian Tech is Kennan is clearly getting very frustrated.
So let's second service that's put in play.
She avoids the double fault has to win the point.
Good rally here.
Cannon goes down the line on the backhand.
It's returned by Sri on Tech.
Oh, an incredible rally and Kenan stays alive in the game.
You've got to be kidding me.
Best rally of the match thus far and Sofia Kenin going with the cross court forehand shot and puts that Paul right on the line.
And Canon let her opponent know about how fired up she was afterwards, 19 shots was that rally, and we're back in a deuce.
Number three, and that goes wide on the backhand.
Return from Canon and the advantage goes back just beyond Tech break number.
Break point number two for her.
This game is a decisive one in this opening set, and it's not ending anytime soon.
As Fionn Tex Return is wide on the backhand, we go to juice number 4 40 all again, and the never ending game continues here with Kenan serving can.
It goes for the high shot and the return wide advantage cannon.
So a chance to tie up those first that once again for Kenan game point.
Can she put it away here, or will there be 1/5 deuce.
There will be 1/5 juice.
Kenan shot could not get over the net, and this game has been nearly 8.
Just number five on the way here.
And that's a great forehand shot from Viane Tech.
The advantage back to her.
It's break point number three.
The sun back out at Roland Garros.
It was talking in behind the clouds for a little while, but the sun back out most of the court is shade.
It's filled with shade as break point. First. Beyonce.
Check Canon controlling the point thus far, but Mrs the backhand shot.
It's English Fionn Tech, who takes the game and now as a commanding 53 leading this opening set and will be serving for the set here.
Reminders of the French Open continues from Roland Garros when the men's final takes place tomorrow 9 a.m.
It's no that Djokovic against Rafael Nadal.
That's gonna be hopefully a match for the ages. Anytime.
Those to meet it usually is a match for the ages one and two in the world.
Facing off for Grand Slam final should be a lot of fun of course in the doll, you know, probably the arguably the best player ever on clay.
But Djokovic, we'll try toe, spoil his ambitions and it's free on tech now up.
15 love to get this game underway.
Chance to close out the set.
Can it needs to break.
Give herself a chance at winning this opening set.
Kenan gets there, and it's long.
So a big point there for Sofia Kenin, 15.
All 40 minutes into the match and first serve, it's off the net.
Fintech will try again here on her second serve.
That's a double fault.
Check the one frustrate her third double fault of the match that makes it 15 30.
Look at the first serve percentage fee on Tech.
Just 48% Ken in 74.
They're still improvement to be made in that serving game of Fionn Tech, especially in the first serve forehand rally here and a beautiful shot right up the line.
All this was brilliantly executed here.
I think Kenan thought it was going to go along, too, but instead it drops down in the corner and Fionn Tech serves a 30.
All can in the sun on that far side, battling here in the rally.
Oh, and Kevin went for power.
Can't get it over the net and its set point force.
Fionn Tech, 40 30 and Canon throws a racket and frustration.
I mean, beyond Tech just has a tendency toe to stay in points, even when it looks like you know she's gonna lose.
The point is behind the point.
She just stays in the points, waits for her opponent to make that mistake.
And it's paying off here against Ken and 40 37 point right now, Canon stays alive.
A mistake's from Xian Tech as she hits the net on the backhand shot.
And guess what? We're in another deuce.
The third consecutive game, the only reduce and Canon absolutely battling here to try toe.
Keep this first set going.
The fans getting involved is, well, the limited amount of Spectators allowed at Chatree.
Here comes the second surf that's put in play.
Kenan closing in tough return here for spy on Tech, and it's wide advantage, Kenan and break point for the American.
And so here we go.
Break point for Kenan Ken.
She take this game and get back into the set, We'll see Fionn Tech ready to release the serve.
Cross court return, and it's good.
Sofia Kenin breaks to make it five.
Force beyond Tech, but Kenan will be on serve to try to tie it up at five all.
What a battle from the American.
The first set. Not over yet.
We've got to do.
It's the woman's final at the French Open.
Fiance Kenan, 54 Fionn Tech in the lead.
But Kenan on served next Welcome back in Let's take a look at the context.
Average return hit points.
Now it's not a big difference, but on the second serve she has, she has been in a little bit closer, but on a consistent basis.
Whether it's first serve a second serve, she's been returning it in front of the baseline, and we'll see how she handles this game with Kenan on served trailing 54 in this opening set.
Great rally here, and the shot is long from Xian Tech.
Well, Kevin had some outstanding shots in that last game to come back and take it.
Fionn Tech had an opportunity to win the set, but Ken and had other ideas.
Faults on the first serve, and here comes the second that's put in play and she contact.
Unsurprisingly, getting aggressive goes for the power shot down the line, and Kenan sends it long on the return. $15.
And so here we go at $15 for a service long second serves one.
Fionn Tech, 53% 10 and 40%.
We're gonna have some more statistics here in this first set.
Good rally here as Kenyan switches to the forehand.
Man, it's wine, so that makes it 15 30.
That's just ah, mistake's simply there from from Canon, trying to bounce back and hold serve and 15 40 Set point number two here for egos.
There's Kenan's backhand shot.
Could not make it over.
And here we go, Ken and trying to stay alive in this first set.
First, Servas Long was wide.
Rather, second serve put in play, Canon closing into the net.
Fionn Tech will play it along and the rally continues and Canon missed on the cross court backhand shot egos.
Fionn Tech takes the first set 64 over Sofia Kenin, one set in the books from Chatree, a It's the 2020 French Open woman's final.
If Kenan wants to win her second Grand Slam in the calendar year, she's gonna have to win two sets in a row, the second set on the way next from Roland Garros.
Fionn Tech takes the first set 64 It's the French Open on this Saturday afternoon from Paris, France.
You guys Fionn tack against Sophia Cannon.
The stakes are high, with a Grand Slam title on the line For both of these young phenoms in the women's game from Shatra, it's a 64 1st set victory for English Fionn Tech.
We get set for the second set.
We'll see how Ken and will respond after dropping that opening set.
This edition of the French Open has been one unlike any other we've seen before, and it's provided plenty of entertainment.
It's been a fun tournament.
It's in a lot of surprises.
The conditions have played a factor with them playing a different a different time of year than there used Thio and fiancee, by the way, trying to become the first poll to win a Grand Slam singles title ever at the age of 19 as well.
What a sensation she's turning into at this French Open, but still plenty of work to be done.
The second set just underway.
Fionn text serving and 15 love as Kenan's return is off the net.
Yeah, for a service wide, I'm really interested to see how the second set will begin.
After she on Tech had a great start to the opening set, Kevin did come back, but then she, on Tech at the end, was able to come away with the 64 win in the first sent.
That's why, on the forehand shot 15 all quick, look at the match summary for you.
Looking at that first set.
The first serve percentage.
69% for Kenan, 53% for Fionn Tech.
First serve points.
1 59% for Fionn Tech, 52 for Kenan, second serve points, 1 53% 1st Fionn Tech and just 33% for Kenan.
So an interesting deep dive.
We look at the statistics in the serving game three onset closing in and recovers your back at the baseline.
Great rally and another shot that goes wide on the cross court backhand 15 30.
I'll tell you what.
If Ken Incan break in this opening game of the second set, that would be a huge confidence booster for her Fionn Tech.
Talking to our coaches, coaches box afterwards and you know, I understand she's playing aggressively, which is what you want to do against Kenan.
You can't play over aggressively because it could get a bit sloppy at times if you do so.
But that's a good recovery from Sri on Tech.
She closes into the net and takes the 0.
You know that first service as we approach the hour mark in this woman's championship match from Paris at the French Open, about 58 minutes in.
Yeah, that's long.
Here comes the second surf, and it's long, so 30 40 break point early on in this opening game of the second set for Kenan, she's two for two on break points. One.
Can she take advantage here? Remember something to keep in mind as well as that should be on Tech, as hasn't dropped a single set this entire tournament, which is incredible.
What a return cannon on the forehand and breaks to start those second set one nothing over Xian Tech as they'll switch sides and Cannon will serve to try to take it to nothing lead in the second set.
So a good start for Kenan exactly what she was looking for.
Thanks everyone for tuning in and being a part of this morning's broadcast much appreciate it as always.
Obviously, we've got the star name matchup 12 in the world, which should be a thrill tomorrow in the men's final between Djokovic and the doll.
But here on the woman's side, Well, yes, it's not.
You know what? We were expecting to be the final, although Kenan, you know, after making it to the Australian Open, it's not.
Not a big surprise that she's made it back to the Korean Slam final.
But, of course, Fionn takes a huge surprise, and and really, it's more of an intriguing matchup because they match up pretty evenly.
In my opinion, based on you know how Welsh Viane text been playing and and how good Kenan has established herself as over the course of this tournament.
Going back to last year's French Open, Sofia Kenin met Serena Williams in the third round that Roland Garros.
It was an incredible match.
Sophia Cannon was playing with a lot of confidence and just put Serena to the test and got the victory.
6275 was the final, and that's when we really started to realize that.
Okay, Sofia Kenin is.
Someone will have to keep a nigh on and, of course, about a half year later would win her first Grand Slam at the Australian 15 all Canon, serving up a game to none in the second set.
After dropping the first set, Canon had a momentum.
Bring her one way, but fiance shot at the other, and it's a returnable 15 30.
Yeah, it's definitely gonna be, um, up to SRI on Tech as toe how she responds because there's going to be nerves there.
I mean, it's a never mind.
Just her first Grand Slam final appearance.
She never made it past around the 16 in the Grand Slam before this, it's a double fault from Canon.
It's break point first, Fionn Tech, 15 40 we've reached the hour mark in the woman's final about 4 10 local time in Paris, both players playing at the baseline but the forehand shot goes wide and it's 30.
Pyotr seriously Patoski is IGA Fionn Text coach.
Break point number two.
Now it's a golden opportunity for SRI in Tech Great rally.
Oh, she on Tech went down the line, and it's a perfect shot to take the game and break one all here in the second set.
Wow, what a response that was after losing that first game on serve force beyond Tech.
And now she'll be on sir with a chance to take her first lead in the second set.
There's just nothing you can do there if your cannon using that spin in a place you get right at the corner.
So one lunch beyond text serving.
And that was miscalculated, thereby.
Paul just bounce topped up on her right underneath.
Could not return.
And it's love 15.
He kind of misses on the backhand, so that makes it 15.
All the nerves getting to both players a bit, it appears.
I mean, at times there's been some beautiful shots and at times there's just been Cem Cem, bad errors and mistakes, which is to be expected when you see in 18 and 21 year old facing off in the final at a Grand Slam event.
And Canon Mrs on the Cross court shot 30 15 inch Fionn Tech back in the lead of this game.
You know that first service from Xian Tech? Here comes this.
The review of the first serve an hour three into the match, early stages of the second set here on SportsCastr that's put in play on.
She makes it 40 15.
It's greatly, nicely done by Fionn Tech.
Just a powerful first serve and then on the return from Canon, closing in and going right up the line on the forehand shot, giving Ken and no chance whatsoever.
And it's game point for the pole.
First service long second servant play Kenyan can't return.
And so, after Kenyon took the opening game of the second, such fiance bounces back, taking the next 2 to 1.

So to lunch, Fionn Tech in the second set.
And Sofia Cannon.
We'll have that left leg worked on, and I'll step aside as we have an injury for Ken and we'll see how serious this is.
She's down to one in the second set, a big point in the game, and Canon, having that left leg worked on action from the French Open, continues right after this.
All right, welcome back into the broadcast, everybody.

FIONN TECH EGOS Fionn Tech grew up being a huge fan of Rafael Nadal and look, she's in the women's final and on this very same court tomorrow for her idol.
Rafael Nadal will be on this very court in the men's final against Novak Djokovic.
How about that? And she actually recorded the video of of her at Nadella's practice court.
She couldn't believe she was in shock, you know, getting Nadal on camera and being right there in person, getting to see him practice here at this French Open cool moment, for sure, no doubt about it.
This is, you know, a tough situation first beyond tech because she's just trying to stay loose.
But no matter what, you know, when a game when when a match I should say that that's paused to your at such a crucial moment in the match.
It's tough for it to suddenly, you know when when you're in the swing of things in the match, when things suddenly come to a pause and you just have toe, you just have to keep your mind ready and try to try to stay loose and and get prepared for whenever you know.
The resumption of the match comes as we continue to wait for Sofia Kenin to come back out onto the court, and there she is so can, and back on court and the left leg rewrapped.
And we're just about set to resume play from Chatree 21 lead, first beyond Tech in this second set, and Kenan will serve to resume play and try toe tie, the second set up at two all.
So we'll see how or if that disruption will affect either player.
We'll see if it makes a difference in our and 12 into the match.

Alexander Ken in the father and coach of Sofia Cannon, is back in the stands.
He took a little walk somewhere.
I don't know, maybe to just calm down a little bit.
He has to be nervous, doesn't it? Coaching his daughter and having her play in this huge match, and she, on check once again makes it 15 30 as she's getting very aggressive, just closing in on the net and rifling that shot down the baseline on the forehand.
I'll tell you what if Beyonce second break here.
That would be a huge, huge game to take for her, she said.
Nine forehand shots, that of one points for and that's out.
It goes along from Kenan, and it's 15 40.

For Kenan, she is just not herself right now and in between games.
Once again during that commercial break, had that left leg worked on a bit more, once again from the athletic trainer.
So she's clearly dealing with that issue.
But it's, you know, she's been dealing with that this whole second week.
Maybe it's playing more of an effect this afternoon.
