What? Oh, thank you.
Calls from college.
See anyone on yet for people on.
Just give me one second, guys.
I'm gonna start in about a minute, advertising the link and everything on my Twitter.
I mean, one second just advertising for those of you that our guests, we get this started.
Okay, so let's get started real quickly.
I just want to put on my headphones to make this sound even better.
And if it doesn't? Well, well, well.
Welcome everybody to this edition of the live episode of the Big Blue in the Bronx.
Podcast Episode 51 Alex Side of his first back again here on this Friday, the Ninth.
Unfortunately, you got some news to break for those of you don't know, uh, Yankees legend and picture Whitey Ford has passed away.
Uh, the age of 91.
I don't know how he died yet.
I probably have to look at it, but rest in peace to him.
You know, he's been he's been around for many years and you know, he's made it up to 91.
Made it up to 91 before this point and just sad to see him go.
You know, in a year like 2020 we've had many, many people pass away.
We had Hank Steinbrenner.
We had Eddie Van Halen, who is a rock star, Uh, influenced a lot of people.
And obviously we have Whitey Ford.
So you know, 2020 has not been the greatest year for everybody.
But, you know, some things were good.
Some things are bad about this year, but mostly on the bad part.
But let's get to the positive.
So the Yankees won last night by a score of 5 to 1.
The first two games after, I mean before that they did not win.
They lost both of those, uh, game to name three. They lost.
So it obviously wasn't a good thing game, too.
And I know it's an old topic.
I'm gonna talk about it still, because, you know, it's on a podcast.
And, you know, I wasn't, you know, doing anything Wednesday podcast like, so, you know, I'm gonna discuss it here.
Why would you take Diaby or Seattle after one inning? Now, you know anyone who finds this in, You know, starts talking.
You know what? You're talking about it, you know, that was Wednesday.
You know, today is Friday, right? But again, you know, I did not have an episode out on Wednesday, but anyway, why would you take my after one inning? Basically, in my opinion, you're destroying his confidence.
And, you know, I never agreed to start him, in my opinion, as I don't know how he would do, but, um, at the same time, you know, you're destroying his confidence.
Oh, he's hyped up for this big game now, but you can take him out after one inning.
Who gives a one home run, so I don't know what he was thinking.
Their meaning, Aaron Boone.
And, you know, everybody came out the least, you know, SportsCastrs.
All you know, it was the organizational decision. Wasn't Boom.
Just decision? Well, Joel Sherman learned from Brian Cashman, actually, that Boone had the final say so, Yeah, it was his decision.
So stop defending him.
You know, I get what, two and two in this Siri's, but still, you know, could have won that game.
Uh, when Thursday's game.
You know, it wasn't Thursday was actually no, that was Tuesday. Never mind.
What am I talking about? I've got my times mixed up. I apologize.
But anyway, you know, everyone sit coming out.
You know, sitting here defending Aaron Boone is a SportsCastr's.
Oh, you know, um, but they don't look at their own reports.
They don't They don't look at their own reports saying, um, Joel Sherman learned from Brian Cashman that Aaron Boone was the final say in that.
No, you know, everyone just, you know, likes to attack Yankee fans.
And, you know, you know, I get blue.
Uh, boom gets the blame a lot, but you know, it's unprecedented.
Sometimes it's really unprecedented sometimes, you know, whatever, but some takeaways from that game standing hit two home runs.
He's been really hot lately.
Of course, in the playoffs, we've never seen this from him, but, you know, obviously hit like I don't know, 38 homers in one year.
I think it was not mistake.
King, uh, j half gave up two home runs.
He came in after, uh, David Garcia went out.
So, you know, that just shows, You know, that smartness Aaron Boone has on occasion.
You know, sometimes he leaves his brain at home, I guess, uh, Let's see, Jonathan.
He wasn't very good, you know, Two hits, one run.
And that was a homer.
I was a home or two, I believe.
Austin Meadows, former pirate.
So, you know, at least I think it was a former pirate.
I'm pretty sure he was.
Former pirate hit the home run, but basically, you know, that game was over Even before the homeowners 64 Yankees basically showed no fight.
After all, the stuff had happened.
You know, obviously standing, he hit that three run shot, you know, he hit two home runs that game, but obviously nothing pretty much went after that.
Uh, Jonathan holding Nick Nelson look good.
I'm not a fan of the both of them.
And I mean, I was a fan at the beginning of the year of Nick Nelson, and I said, Look, you know, give this guy more opportunities, given more of a chance, because he had a really bad outing against Philly when we had that double header.
And, you know, I said, look, give him more of a chance.
You know, he could develop into something Maybe, you know, a middle reliever or a one of them long guys, you know? But they started, you know, to put this stuff on Michael King and you know, it kept not working, kept failing.
And, you know, the fact that he's on the postseason roster really surprised me.
But it doesn't at the same time, because they're trying to push for something.
And, you know, the problem is with the Yankees.
And I discussed this last night with two friends.
I said, Look, it's either we go out there and we get a picture or it's, you know, something fails in our system.
I'm not saying, you know, developmental system for the Yankees is bad.
I'm not saying that at all.
What I'm saying is, you know, you look at the pictures we've had in the past.
We have Justice Sheffield, Clark, Schmitz, another nightclub, Schmidt Chance Adams.
You know, in big moments, I will say that Chance Adams never, you know, did what he was supposed to do or in this case was expected to dio.
But Justice Jeff Field would have grown into something, you know.
He didn't do that bad this year.
Hey, we had a three and two record or four and three record like 3.
So that's not bad.
It's not compared to somebody like J a happ and, you know, again, but definitely, you know, in the next time we talk about which is, you know, game three to not gonna pitch that well, So if you're the Yankees, what are you thinking right now? Because Tanaka has always been famed for the postseason.
You know, he did have hasn't shown it so far.
Like I could say, Oh, you know, the rain for that game to game begins the Indians.
But, you know, there's no rain in San Diego on Wednesday and, you know, he's just, you know, throwing ****ing homers.
And, you know, that's one of his, Uh, it's one of his riel.
I would say weaknesses, you know, throwing.
And it hits and, you know, they hit the homer off of him.
Especially cure Meyer.
He was one of them.
Um, yeah, let's see where we got here.
All right, So get my papers.
Little mixed up. I apologize.
Game three Tanaka pitch badly.
Is it just mentioned? If you take a look at the box ***** for the Yankees, you know to knock up five earned runs, four innings, 73 pitches, two homers.
Those homers were to Kevin Kerr Meyer, and I believe let's take a look at this care.
Mayer was one of them.
And Randy Eros Arena.
You know, three Only guy that got him out, I think, was Nick Nelson in this series.
I'm not too sure about that.
But remember posted.
I'm posting me and said, This is, uh, Nick Nelson.
I believe he was a pitcher.
Gets Randy arose.
Arena out for the first time, and it will be history.
It's funny, you know, he's a good he's a good prospect or, you know, wherever he came from, they seemed toe like him a lot, and they're playing him to his strength.
Um, Louise Sessa gave up one run.
That's no surprise there.
I don't like him at all.
And you know, I might say is I'm justified.
It's not because he's, you know, he's pitched like **** ever since 2017 you know, 2016 it looking like Chad Green was gonna be the bus to the trade.
And you know, Louise Sessa was gonna pitch good, but everything flipped coming years on, but both them suck right now.
No, they're not necessarily the greatest pitchers.
So who won that trade? I don't know.
I guess I would say the Yankees one of the trade, Because I had a couple of years out of Chad Green before he went back to **** again.
Let's see do, um, Nick Nelson.
Obviously, I mentioned before, you know, he pitched in that game.
I think he was up for, like, three straight days.
He was up in the bullpen, and I'm, like, there really pitching this guy to three straight days because I don't know if he threw yesterday.
But, um, I was surprised, actually, but, you know, he only pitch one inning in this game.
14 pitches in that inning.
One hit, you know, not surprising there.
I'm starting to like him a lot better, but, you know, in the times of, you know, need in situation, you know, they need to get their head out of their ass and especially Nick Nelson because, you know, I think I'm pretty much I like him s so far, you know, He's had his moments and I've got mad at him.
Michael King two innings pitched in.
Okay, I guess there's not a bad outing, But at that time, I believe the game was over.
I believe the game was over, and, you know, I'm going to discuss something in a minute.
But Gary Sanchez, because, you know, Michael King was talk Michael Kay was talking about yesterday.
He goes, you know, the Yankees, you know, they bought into they bought into, you know, Gary Sanchez.
They trade away Brian McCann and, you know, made him the, uh catcher, you know, And you know, he's so transparent when it comes to these things because everybody's talking about, you know, um, bringing Gary Sanchez in and talking about how you know Cashman really tried selling the goods and then, you know, caller calls up yesterday and he's talking about how you know he hasn't done anything in a couple last couple of years.
Goes, Oh, what about those four championships? Well, you're being really transparent there in a case because look at the last couple of years, ever since 2009 we have not won a championship were always supposedly that one missing piece away from a championship.
Is he gonna be that guy? I don't know.
I mean, tonight we'll see what happens and see, you know, is he built for those moments? We'll see.
But we always seem to be a step away from a championship.
You know, last year we could not hit.
You are pitching was, you know, semi decent.
But Edwin Encarnacion, he traded for him.
You know, We'll get it, I get it.
You know, he's had his bad, fair share of bad trades, good trades, whatever.
But in the last couple of years, you know, you can't just say, um, you know all Brian Cashman.
You know, he's What about those 203 wins in last two seasons? Now, let's stop with that, because good managers and good coaches get fired if they don't go to a championship.
Let's be honest, you know that happens, that happens.
Um, Joe Girardi was one of those not because of not just because of that, but also to affect their that he was hard on the players.
Now they fired him or didn't bring him back because of that, because, oh, you know, let's bring in Boone, who was not gonna give Gary Sanchez any ****.
But, you know, good coaches, if they don't start winning and you know you're about 500 they're going to get fired.
They're not gonna be brought back.
And, you know, is it the tipping point for cash Hman? I don't know.
But you do definitely have to do some sort of of evaluation if you lose tonight's game and, uh, we're gonna be playing taps.
So we're gonna be playing, you know, New York, New York, and advancing is the Astros.
We'll see what that Syria's like, but I don't think the Rays can beat the Astros.
In my opinion, that's just my take on it.
You know, you guys can have your takes and whatever, but I don't think the Rays can beat the Astros.
If we beat the raise.
I think we could beat the Astros again.
You know, I don't know what ****ing tactics they're using cheating and whatnot, but, you know, in Carlos Correa, I hope, honestly, I hope we beat them.
I hope we beat them.
You know, it's you know, I'm getting really tired of this ****, you know? Oh, you know, we're gonna win the championship.
Stop, stop! You're making ****ing a name for yourself for no reason.
****ing Odell Beckham all over again.
Just worse than him.
You know, at least Odell didn't cheat.
You know, when he was, you know, a big distraction, E.
I mean, that's not really a fair comparison, but like, you know, shut up already.
Just shut the hell up.
You know, nobody asked for your and, you know, the media gets a kick out of this.
You know, Fox, they all interview him because then he knows we're gonna talk **** on any team that's called them out.
You know, he's been a real ****ing prick for lack of better words.
I apologize from a language, but you know what? This point it's worth it. It's worth it.
Um, let's talk about Gary Sanchez.
And I know I got into him before, but, you know, so obviously they bought the goods on him and I you know, I've talked about this before, and I will admit that I've talked about this, and it kind of seems to me that he doesn't have any passion, you know, draw.
He would call them out.
Yeah, they let him go because of that, you know, they wanted Boon to be a player coach.
You know, not somebody that goes on him and, you know no calls them out.
They wanted to be player friendly, which is, unfortunately, the world of sports in 21st century.
At least, you know right now, Because let's take a look, everybody.
Now, I'm not a Nets fan, so I can't necessarily, you know, contemplate all of it, you know, and say, you know, I totally know what was going on at the time, but you know, Kenny Atkinson, he got fired because, you know, he was hard on the players and Kyrie and Kevin didn't like him.
He had a player revolt against him and JJ Watt.
That's why I support.
Because if you don't have any leadership and you know you're a player friend, then you know I don't understand.
You know, Bill Brian, He's a hard ass.
And I guess you know, the Texans organization kind of saw that when he traded away DeAndre Hopkins.
And you know, they saw that.
And then you know the players revolting.
They're like, Oh, my God.
DeAndre Hopkins was right.
So why would you ever make him general manager? That's my point.
But going back to my other point, um, about, like, soft coaching and stuff, you know, I just don't see any passionate Gary Sanchez.
I don't think he cares, You know? It's my take.
And I understand.
You know, this is a fan.
Take This is not necessarily one backed up by evidence, But I can I'm gonna do it right now.
So I'm not expecting anyone.
Thio, bust the window, break a bat or even, you know, do that thing that Gardner used to dio hit the roof of the dugout with his bad.
But you know, when Gary Sanchez swings it Ah, horrible pitch.
Or he looks at something right down the middle or something like that.
I mean, he will ask the umpire why he didn't get a call.
If it's a strike or a ball, you know, I will say that he's done that fair share, but, you know, do you see anything on offense? As you know, is he breaking bats? As I said, it doesn't have to come down to that.
I just don't see any passion when he hits a home and he hits a home and he's happy.
He's, you know, he's no, very Scooby Doo is room frowning.
It's a lack of better words.
But you know what? I don't see any passion.
This guy. I'm sorry.
I don't see any passion. I really don't.
Okay? I don't see any passion.
Just come down to that appointment him.
You know how you know if the Yankees actually try to pursue a catcher in, you know, free agency, you know you can't draft to catch her.
It's not ****ing NFL an MBA where you just send them, you know, right up to the roster and maybe even the G league.
If he's a late round and I mean late late because there's, like, 11th around.
There's 12th round, you know, Um, but how are you gonna do with the Yankees? You sold us the goods, never saying he's no good.
And now you gotta go get a catcher.
You know J t Realmuto? He's gonna want it.
I'm pretty sure he's, like, 31 on.
Take a look at that right now.
J t Realmuto and the Mexican probably gonna be getting him or at least wanting him.
He's 29 he should be looking for some big long term contract.
And I don't blame him because he's one of the best catchers in the game.
You know, he's one of those catches that actually has speed.
You know, you think of a catcher, you think of a fat guy you think of, you know, someone who's, like, really big and doesn't have any really speed on the bases.
You know, I'm not saying, you know, jtmm Muto was Prime Brett Gardner.
But I'm saying, you know, he's more than just an average catcher.
So if anything arises on Twitter, I don't think so.
Anyway, um, but yeah, and you know, they're paying Garrett Cole there.
They have the standing contract.
They're probably still paying a little bit off of the Jacoby Ellsbury contract.
So where you gonna fit that in? You know, salary caps not gonna come and save the day if they ever make one.
I mean, they probably won't because the MLB like it's money and they like the product, which is always the big teams and the big market team is always like to spend their money.
You know, Gary Cole being one of those reasons, you know, ratings and whatnot and gets more people watch the sport if you get what I'm saying.
But, you know, I honestly think they should put a salary cap in, but going back to my final point, you know, how you gonna replace him? I'll get stroke is not gonna be your catcher.
That's gonna be like Chris Stewart in Austin Roman in 2013.
So it just doesn't make any sense.
But for definitely tonight, Um, it's gonna be called versus glass now.
Last time out, you had six innings pitched, uh, three earned runs, six hits, two walks, eight K's, two homers, 97 pictures and six innings.
Which was, you know, expected.
Um, can we lower the home runs? You know, he's given up a lot of home runs this season.
For most of you.
I looked this sat up.
I mean, it's very dependable, I guess, But anyway, hey gave up more home runs this season, a 16 game season than he did for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016.
I'm pretty sure That's the stat.
I looked it up one day.
I'm like, you know, you got I said to my friends, You guys know this that and I read it and they're like, You know, I'm not surprised, but he did.
He does need to lower the the home run count because, you know, the Rays aren't necessarily a team.
The very ****ytical I will say that.
But they're not necessarily team that always, you know, depends on homeowner bus.
They could get the extra base hits they can get, you know, but ones they can.
But when they want Thio, so it's, you know, it's not just home on a bus with them.
Nationals were the same team last year.
That's my opinion. That's my take on that.
Let's go for Tyler Glass.
No, he's working on two days of rest, so hopefully Yankees take advantage that maybe, you know he's not fully up to his potential.
E gonna look up Tyler glass.
No stats for you guys real quick, at least coming back from you know, the game to Siri's.
But let's see any questions you guys can leave down below.
I'm probably gonna be releasing this episode.
For those of you who do listen probably later, later tonight, or maybe even tomorrow, Let's see Yankees.
It's not like glass.
No, through a gem, either.
I don't think Let's take a look. Maybe he did.
Okay, so he threw five innings, three hits, four runs, three walks, 10 K's in two homers.
So it's nothing special.
Um, but he did, you know, get the strikeouts as the same time he got, you know, banged up a little bit.
Let's see how many runs he gave up four runs.
So obviously that was not enough for the Yankees.
And, you know, they were pretty much drought did the rest of the game.
But I would definitely take advantage.
You know, you have tow, have Higashio could catch it tonight, obviously, because he's the personal catcher for Gerrit Cole.
Um, you know he's not gonna do good with Sanchez because Sanchez doesn't know how to ****ing play defense or do anything for that factor.
I'm not saying he's, you know, totally horrible, but at the same time, you know, what good has he done in this? Siri's other than hit one home run Actually, I was coming back to up the Indian Siri's.
But anyway, um, take advantage, you know, two days rest, He's not necessarily be full of gas.
And, you know, Cole, he's working off what, three days rest.
So this is not necessarily gonna be the most picture duel game.
You know, I think Cole will outduel Tyler Glass.
No, but, you know, at the same time, the Yankees have done stupid **** before.
So that's, you know, So I think of this.
Siri's hopefully win the night.
I'm not gonna be able to watch the game.
I don't think unless I find a stream.
So hopefully, you know, I find some sort of stream, but my place I'm going is Raku.
So you know, it's not necessarily, you know, live and I have to pay for streaming APS, and I'll probably have to go through that ****.
But anyway, let's talk about some giants showing.
I know it's kind of stupid.
That SportsCastr, in a way, doesn't have you select multiple topics at the same time.
It just says either baseball or football.
And, you know, I mean, he's general sports talk without, like putting up the scoreboard.
So All right, let's talk about the Giants.
So this week they face Dallas, and there's a fun fact out there that most of you know is that Daniel Jones is going to Dallas for the first time.
He's starting a game now, obviously made an appearance in Dallas last year.
I think it was like three for four in a fumble.
That was pretty much when we were getting blown out.
Fumbled, you know, basically, game over.
So let's do some stock up.
Stock down real quick.
Pepsi really takes sugary anyway.
Stock up, stock down, uh, for stock up Kyler Fackrell.
We don't know if he's gonna play this week.
I'll go over that in a minute, but you know, he did really well last week.
Made a couple of impact tackles, a couple of runs, stops, which really, you wouldn't expect that a Kyler faculties, you know, they acquired him for the past rushing reasons and he got sack.
So he worked off Andrew Whitworth on that sack.
So, you know, it just tells you how he gets the quarterback.
Who else? Ryan Lewis. He played really solid last week.
Two completions for five yards off of him.
But also he wasn't, you know, horrible.
And, you know, in those two for five completions, you know, that doesn't always necessarily say, Oh, you know, two for five.
You know, he needs to lower that now.
It's also how many yards you give up in the passer rating.
I mean, the passer rating could be like, you know, it's an ****ytic, as I call it.
You know, it's really sometimes overhyped in a way, but you have to look at the yards.
You have to look at the completion percentage and you have to watch the film.
I always say that, and I've said that, you know, 1000 times.
You can't look at stats without looking at film with different cases.
You can't just say all I know this about a stat, but, you know, **** the film.
No, you can't do that anyway.
He's second in the NFL and tackles believe, 23 last week or one of the weeks before.
I don't know, no, probably run stops, but, you know, he had a solid week last week, made a couple of impact tackles as well, going toe holes in the run game, especially.
He's been great.
James Bradbury had three completions for seven yards.
I think something like that, but very, very good for James Bradberry.
You know you wouldn't call out his name in a bad way coming back to last week, you know, there was no ah, wide open.
You know, I think he didn't miss one tackle, but at the same time, you know, When did you call out his name? Negatively? You didn't You just didn't do that.
And, you know, I don't know that anyone has called out.
Bradbury's playing negatively.
Maybe on some certain plays.
Yeah, but mostly, you know, he's been agenda season.
He's really been a gym.
And hopefully it's not like one of those things, because if he's compared to situations, uh, you look a Gettleman, anyone could.
So 2016 is kind of like this year for Giants fans and a little bit, and I'm not saying we're gonna make the playoffs.
I'm not saying, you know if there is a new coach in town, but, uh, Jerry Reese basically saved his job or attempted to save it by free agency.
Damon Harrison, Olivier Vernon Generous Jenkins you know, those players worked out that year.
They started, you know, not working out.
And you're, you know, prior that, you know, probably going down the road.
I'm saying, uh, generous.
Obviously, he was a solid cover corner, but he never returned to his 2016 for, uh, Damon Harrison.
He was always stopping the run, so he pretty much work till the end.
And Libya? Vernon, you know, he could not stay on the field.
Sorry, there's a fly around me, but he could not stay on the field.
And, you know, that pretty much went in Get Jerry Reese's face, and we dealt with it a year later.
Until you know, the trade happened with Kevin Zeitler for Libya.
Vernon And I'm pretty sure they made that in the one with the obi trade trade.
I can't necessarily say it for sure.
Wayne Goldman, That big 26 yard run.
You know, I was happy with that.
And I mentioned this on Tuesdays Live episode.
I said, Look, you know this guy? I don't know why Giants fans **** on him so much.
You know, he sometimes he can't make the right reads or whether it's you know, reading the whole or whatnot.
But, you know, he gets to the second layer on occasion.
Devante Freeman. Same thing.
I'm not saying your Goldman's ever gonna be like what Freeman was.
No, but those two running backs last week we saw something from that, uh, he led meaningful woman.
He led the Giants with six cabbage for 45 yards.
We had, like some, like, 5.
4 yards a carry last week.
So it wasn't that bad, and that was probably the best of the season.
Uh, devante Freeman.
I just mentioned, you know, he was 11 for 33 3 yards per carry.
Um, take Crowder.
He impressed on a lot of plays.
Three tackles, one past defended.
And he also had that almost interception.
Ah, lot of people thought it was an interception.
I don't think it was I mean, I had different thoughts about at the time Dalvin Thomason.
He knocked down the past and he knocked down a pass and did a couple of things there.
Austin Johnson, He did have a good game is Well, you know, everybody's devaluing his sack.
Look, you know I'm not a big fan of this guy, but give credit when credit is due whether you come unblocked whether you I don't know, you're standing right in front of the quarterback and you forced a fumble again.
Don't discredit the man.
You know, a lot of people did that last week.
I'm not necessarily happy about that.
You know, give credit when credit is due.
Whether you could say he's unblocked.
You could say he's unblocked, but you still have to make the point.
Uh, that he got the sack.
You know, those air stats, you know, everybody was saying, you know, also last year, you could also make the comparison with the Giants.
Fans were saying last year Oh, Marcus Golden, most of us sacks, you know, for coverage, *** or, uh, most of coverage, sacks and mostly *** where he was unblocked.
Well, let's say this.
So let's just say they put him in the position that they did last year.
Right is a potential starter, so the secondary is better.
So more coverage sacks and mawr on block *** if we're sending blitzes.
If you're trying to get the thing, I'm going because the defense has improved.
Everybody's seen that anyway.
One of the big plays again was that play with Cooper Cup, you know, either was a miscommunication.
But Julian love again, just not impressed with him.
Ah, especially with that Cooper Cup play.
Daniel Jones, that game ending interception.
I cannot stress this enough that, you know, he's trying to be the hero of his own story.
He's trying to do more than he actually needs to dio no trust his receivers on some play is I get it.
You know, you receivers don't get separation, but you know, when there's how many yards in front of you and you're gonna elect toe, throw it, you know, possibly get you guys, you know, inside the five at the same time, you know, there's a defender literally right next to him, almost.
So just don't make any sense.
Also, some of you know the plays, you know, pocket awareness.
One of them was a coverage sack.
Um, in which, you know, secondary, you know, covered them.
Well, this was in the second half, By the way, this is wasn't on the offensive line, necessarily where He was holding the ball too long and tried escaping late, and he got sacked.
Uh, Andrew Thomas did not have a good week last week.
The same Devante Downs getting sick of him, But it's a good thing that he didn't play is in much of snaps.
I think he had, like, 4% of snaps last week.
Compared Toa take Crowder's like 53%. 58%.
I went over that on Went over that on Tuesdays podcast episode.
So you know, that's what that is.
But I don't want to see him on the field a lot because, you know, he misses tackles.
He doesn't shed blocks.
I don't know what they saw in this guy.
Honestly, if I interviewed Joe Judge, I would say, Hey, look, what do you What do you guys seeing him? Why did you keep him e mean? It is tough because, you know, you don't necessarily get a great look at guys when there's no, you know, pre season.
But at the same time, you know you credit has to be, you know, bad credit, good credit.
You know, it has to be put somewhere has to be put somewhere.
But overall, I like the improvement of this defense.
I'm gonna talk about that injury report.
Oceans imminence with shoulder kind of fractal with his neck.
Uh, Adrian Colbert with his neck again injured bell peppers with his ankle.
Uh, it looks like, oh, Shane's eminence is not gonna be able to go, uh, next, uh, Sunday against cowboys, which is unfortunate, but he's had five Hubie hits.
And like for Q b knockdowns, I want to say something like that, but those air technically ****ytics to some people.
But, you know, I would just like to see more playing time from him.
You know, Patrick and put him on the field more.
And I want to see, you know, more impact.
You know, I'm not saying, you know, get three sacks in the first five games.
No, I'm not saying that, but, you know, put more playing time out there for oceans in Venice, and hopefully he produces Hopefully, but he probably not gonna go on, uh, Sunday.
He's probably not gonna be there.
He's gonna be there, but he's not gonna be active.
Kyler fackrell his neck.
I'm kind of scared that he's not going to play, but at the same time, I don't know Adrian Colbert I don't know about.
But you know he's not a major impact.
He's still part of the defense.
Should have a major impact.
Andrew Bell Peppers with his ankle.
Uh, many will see it out, meaning coaches and trainers will see it out.
It'll be like, Let's see, you know how this goes.
We'll see it out Sunday, but Jordan, run on of ESPN, has a good feeling that he's gonna play, so we'll see what happens there.
But, um, yeah, I mean, the safety play wasn't necessarily bad last week. Other enjoying love.
I mean, they mixed, I believe Sean Chandler in there for a couple of plays and Adrian Colbert as well.
And you know, it's a really telling tale, and I mentioned this on SportsCastr on Tuesday.
You know, it's really telling tale that Julian Love is not getting as many plays its safety as Logan Ryan is.
So, you know, can we possibly think that he's falling out of favor? Hopefully not because I like doing love.
No, necessarily as a player, you know, he came from Notre Dame, which is my favorite college.
But, you know, as I said, it all depends on play.
You can't favorite ties.
Uh, let's go to the rankings.
Now I do this every podcast episode that Rikers on Friday before game day over the stats.
So for total yards and now this is offense.
Giants ranked 31st with 1112 278 per game passing yards there.
5 per game rushing yards.
5 game, which is, you know, a slight increase compared to the last couple weeks and points 47 11.
8 per game, and they ranked 32nd.
But as far as the defense goes, much better. Stats.
Fifth in total yards, 1113 given up and 328.
3 per game passing yards there.
8 886 passing on, giving up 222.
11th for 27 given up 100.
68 per game for the points wise 12th, 96 points given up 24 per game.
Let's take a look at the Dallas offense.
Total yards first.
You know, they're big, heavy passing offense.
I'm pretty sure there pass rate is one of the highest in the NFL.
Not, you know, the first of the second Giants up there as well.
Doesn't mean they're, you know, necessarily good at the passing game, which you know how many times they pass the game.
Total yards 1st 2138 509.
5 yards per game.
Passing yards 1st, 1631 474 107.
8 per game Obviously rely on more in the passing game.
But Zeke Elliot he has, I believe, 273 rushing yards per, uh, this year they leave their 24th and rushing, which is actually kind of a surprise to me.
But I guess you know, let's take more of the passing offense, which really isn't a surprise to me because, you know, everybody said this when Mike McCarthy was hired as a head coach.
They said, you know, look, um, you know, let's take a look here.
What did he do in Green Bay? He didn't use the running game, and, you know, they started using the running game a little more than that.
The floor was hired.
So it's gonna be interesting to see, uh, rushing yards per game.
8 407 total for points.
There were 3rd, 126 uh, total points this season and 31.
Also to note on the defensive side, they're not very good.
Um, you know, everybody's, you know, really saying out there, going out there and saying, Oh, Dallas not that bad of a defense.
They just, you know, have not been up to the task when it faced toe higher offenses.
They're facing the Giants this week.
They totally cream.
Um, Look, I'm not I don't think we're gonna get creamed this week, but at the same time, if the offense doesn't do anything and the defense allows something like 21 24 points, you know it's going to seem like a blowout.
That's my opinion.
You know, Jason Garrett wants revenge. You better get revenge.
You know, you guys didn't, uh didn't resign me didn't give me another contract.
So I'm gonna revenge on you guys and I'm gonna have my team blow up on you.
We'll see if that happens.
I don't think it will bow for the defense.
28th in total yards.
5 per game, passing their 21st 1000 and 32 per game.
I'm sorry, not per game. That would be crazy.
Given up 258 per game rushing yards.
31st, which is the worst defensive stat.
Probably right now, aside from points, I'll get to in a minute.
31st, 690 total rushing into giving up 172.
32nd 142 given up in 36.
So let's talk about this a little bit.
Three keys to the game.
Put pressure on Dak Prescott.
That's number one. Uh, Tyron Smith.
He's out for the season.
He's out for the season.
Joe Looney has an M c L spring.
He was never that good to begin with.
In my opinion, eso you're gonna have Tyler by dish? Well, a Giants fans wanted in the fifth round, but they took Shandling YouTube picks after the Cowboys took him, which was kind of interesting.
But at the same time, you know Travis Frederick? He retired.
Um, put pressure on deck Prescott.
We've gotten a lot of sacks.
The offensive line for them has given up nine sacks and four games, which isn't necessarily Dad.
Forget where they rank, but it doesn't matter, You know it's not that bad.
It's not like, you know, three sacks per game.
But anyway, uh, they're gonna have starting offensive lines probably look like Brandon Knight.
Then you have counter Williams.
Left guard Tyler Bite issued center Zack Martin, the right guard.
He's been playing well this season.
Pro Bowl Or and then the right tackle gonna be Terrence Steel.
I think he's at a Clemson.
I don't don't call me on that. Don't call me on that.
I probably just made a wrong decision by even saying it, but who cares anyway? So number to get the one game going.
Dallas Cowboys rank 31st in the London They are on Lee on top of the Houston Texans.
Think about that.
They're only on top of the Houston, Texas.
Now, I know I said earlier, or you're gonna watch the film.
I was watching the Texans and the Vikings game last week.
Boy, did they have a ****ing hard time stopping Dalvin cook? I'm not saying the Cowboys with that team, but you have that, you know, at least have some consistency on the ground.
But if they don't, you know, control the Giants.
You know it's gonna be good for the Giants, but it's, you know, where the Giants don't take advantage.
You know, Dallas is gonna have their number and we're gonna lose again because I feel like it's gonna be one of those games where it's gonna come down to the offense.
You know, the defense giving 21 24 maybe even 27 points.
And you know, your offense is only gonna get, what, 13 most of on field goals.
So it's gonna be really interesting.
It's really is, um, not ready for that.
But I am ready at the same time.
Hopefully, we get a winning Gonzales.
You know, Hopefully it's gonna be a close game.
In my opinion, everybody's you know.
Oh, it's a block now.
It's not gonna be a blowout.
In my opinion, I could be wrong again.
I was wrong about the 40 Niners game.
I didn't predict in the wind.
I didn't say I was gonna blow up either.
I didn't say it was gonna be a blower either.
Number three alleviate the pressure.
You give me one second, okay? Alleviate the pressure.
So Marcus Lawrence has one pressure on this season.
I don't find that to be attractive at all.
You know, ever since his big contract, they sentient, he's been a big nothing burger.
You know, Marcus Goldman got more *** than him last year, you know, compared to the other stats.
And, you know, he just hasn't been appealing to me in the last two years.
Especially what he did with that ****ing kid.
Um, in Dallas when the kid wanted his autograph and he basically was victim.
You know what you're doing That you're not all popular? Yeah.
I came back because you ended up putting some ****ing average pass rusher stats.
Didn't make any sense at all, Mike.
I mean, alleviate the pressure.
The man I mean by that is Aldon Smith.
Take a look at his stats.
He started all the games this season, but he's been sent on 14 blitzes to hurries, three quarterback knockdowns, four sacks and nine pressures.
So he's gonna be pressuring that left side the markets. Lawrence.
You know most of them.
He does come off the right side will occasionally come off the left side against left tackle.
But you need the watch out for Aldon Smith.
It's gonna be another competition for all Andrew Thomas.
I'm not saying it's gonna be Nick Bosa, like, you know Alden, Thomas Alden, Thomas Alden Smith.
You know, he hasn't played in many, many years, but at the same time, you know, you got to see where this goes.
And I'm not saying, you know, every time it is a bad tackle on everything, but it's gonna be another competition, you know, everybody knew coming into the season, whether you know, Dallas pass rushers me good.
We had Gerald McCoy, whether they had, you know, democracy Alliance was again a return to form.
You know, the first five weeks we face so many good pass rushers.
And, you know, this wasn't really a surprise anybody that this offensive line has done the job.
So those are my keys to the game? Um, general topics don't really have anything else to discuss.
Uh, that's pretty much the end of the episode.
Hopefully we gonna win.
Uh, real quick. My prediction.
I have the Giants losing by a score of given about 24 to 13.
I think the defense, we're going 24 points and the offense won't do anything.
I'm just saying the defense gonna be bad or anything, but you know, they'll try to limit Dallas as best they can.
And you know the offense again.
We'll do anything unless some severe changes were made.
I saw this thing video, everyone seeing it.
Who's Giants fan? Offensive linemen are working at wide receiver.
Like Is this how we're gonna start? Our offense, you know, is is someone gonna be better than Evan Ingram and Golden Tate is shame Lamu gonna be that guy.
Well, he dropped the past, so I can't say that Isa Andrew Thomas gonna be that guy.
You know, it's funny, but I honestly think in the next couple of weeks.
But doing that, they're gonna pull some stunt on special teams like they're gonna faked up punt.
Well, that would actually, you know, have to do with wide receivers of corners.
But with offensive lineman, you probably do that on field goals.
So it's gonna be interesting.
It's gonna be interesting.
Uh, this week is gonna be interesting, especially in football with all these, you know, co vid come ups in the cove.
It, you know, to new testing and false positives.
And, you know, times are a mess.
Titans, they're a mess.
And hopefully don't shut down the league because, you know Oh, let's work out When, uh, you know, there's a co vid on our entire team, so this doesn't make any sense.
It doesn't make any sense.
And, uh, they're gonna be getting a heavy fine for that.
I'm surprised nobody's been fine with the Tate and Ramsay thing.
I honestly, you know, those punches thrown so I don't understand why.
And there's this new thing if you come up to a ref and you, uh, take off your mask partially, you're gonna get fined or possibly a suspension or in a 15 yard penalty what kind of stupid as well.
But at the same time, I guess what I do, what they're doing.
But anyway, thank you guys, for listening to this podcast episode.
