The Laker real podcast.
I'm your host, Reggie.
And I'd like to thank you guys for tuning in today.
So we got a few things to talk about.
This probably be a short little Livestream, because, I mean, the game that we just lost to the Miami Heat was pretty much self explanatory.
Pretty much to me. The Lakers played himself.
Um, but, you know, we gotta do first and wherever, or however you are tuned into this podcast, you should take a moment.

Now, the game just ended.
Um, and I'm not upset.
You know, I'm not upset because I never thought that the heat would, uh, get swept like that's not my thoughts on the game.
I thought the deal I said 65 or six.
So I knew they would get a game.
I'm really probably leaning back towards five because, really, the Lakers had to play this bad in order for them to get this game.
Like even though the Lakers play God awful, they still found themselves in this game.
So I'm not upset.
I think that we knew this is a resilient team.
We know that they weren't just going to give up, regardless to If out of Bio was out or Goering was out there is gonna play that game, right? Eso I expect this.
I knew that will drop one game because we do get lazy.
We tend to get lazy and they just go through the motions, right? And this is that game for him.
This is that game for him where they just didn't come out with the energy like they should have.
Um, they just played lazy.
I mean, 19 turnovers.
10 in what? The first half, fourth quarter or something like that.
That's a losing effort right there.
And some of them was unforced.
Um, it was the bad overall game for pretty much almost everybody, except for Keith.
Keith was keeping us in the game at one point when I was like Man, this guy's like air bowling, his shots and he had a few back to back.
But yeah, this thing is one of those games that the Lakers play themselves, and I will go ahead and get credit to the Miami Heat.
They did what they had to do, you know the Lakers play.
What if they took it right? Jimmy Butler with a 40 point triple double monster game from him, and you got to give credit where credit's due.
So that's the credit.
Um, I said they took.
They took the opportunities they should have.
Now the leaders that to one like you're still, you know, have the lead in the Siri's and still have two more games to win in order to get to 17 championship.
I expect for them to come out much more focused, locked in and ready to go.
Um, by taking out a d with these files.
It really changed the game for us because a D obviously was a big factor in what we did.
And it's crazy how, like I said, even with him and foul trouble not scoring like that, we still right there in the game.
But we just really played ourselves with those turnovers.
You know, the rest is in full form, and I'm not gonna use No, I don't.
I'm not one of those things that like to always use the rest, but yeah, they've been awesome stuff.
They've been awesome stuff.
Side to you. Thank you for the tip.
Thank you for that.
Um, so they just, I think, is one of those games you all like.
That's all I have to say in that aspect.
You know, they could have did so many things better.
Obviously, they missed a lot of open shots, and I felt like they should have drove the ball a little more, a bit more aggressive, like the heat were being.
They were settling for a lot of threes, and I understand that zone.
That's what it's tend to do because they know that they want the Lakers to shoot threes because they're not the greatest three point shooting team.
So when you have in those games where they're three, they're not falling and they're not aggressive.
Eighties out right, The bronze get keep going to the cup, but they're not getting no files.
They're swallowing their whistles you have 19 turnovers would that is a recipe for a loss right there.
That's not that's what it is.
It's a recipe for a loss, and that's what we got.
Um, like I said again one more time.
I'm really swing towards Lakers and five had him at six, but Jimmy pretty much had they really had to play it down there.
Perfect game just to get this one and have the Lakers play awful one.
And that's no, not to Miami Heat, but I'm just stating facts.
That's pretty much what it was like.
Come on out, everybody.
Watching that game was like, Okay, the Lakers have all these turnovers, and yet they're only up by five.
That was, That would not make me feel good as the Miami Heat fan, right? Because the way the Lakers played, they should have been a blowout.
This has really been a blowout, but this Laker team is a really good team.
It's a really, really good team, so let's go ahead and get into the stats.
Let's talk about 81st off a B.
See how many points you have.
Those five troubles really took him out like really, really took him out.
He couldn't do much.
You can't regard like you want to, because you don't want that.
Pick up that 56 5.
And then it was one where he got a file for a block, which I really don't think they should have called that man.
I feel like they was.
They was on a B had today, So And he played 32 minutes.
He had 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals.
Um, and he shot 6 to 9.
But those those files really limited him.
Like he can't do much with that.
He couldn't play his normal, aggressive way because, like I said, he had that cloud over his head.
Like, if I If I play too strong or if I go to the bucket, is that gonna be offensive? Foul? Right.
So they took 80 out the game, So credit to the Miami Heat for that, You know, they literally took him out the game.
He was given what, 30 points a game, right? If 80 even have **** a solid game with no with no, his normal.
This game is over.
Right? Um, 15 points, like that's not a game at all.
We know he will score 15 points.
Um, and this is really no excuse for that at all.
There's really no excuse for that.
Some of those files were really ticky tack off course, and, uh, he'll be better.
He'll be better next time.
So LeBron LeBron Also that fourth quarter for Brown was, I don't know.
He has one of those games.
It kind of gave me the Rockets fourth quarter.
What game was that? Was that Game three? We lost Game 21 of those.
What Brown had like an awful fourth quarter.
You know, he had back to back turnovers for, um, travel for traveling and this missing shots taking threes.
That's not like, of course, you wanna three because he's going to give you is obviously more than two, but at the same time, so it was like, Let's go get them And foul trouble also, like the aggression I didn't see from the Lakers at all.
Like I think that we all know that the Miami Heat are lacking a center right Kelly Olynyk.
He's good on offense, right? He can get you some buckets on offense, but on on the defensive side if you attack him.
Attack that man attacking. Fine.
Look, you don't have to put both sides.
I'm not about to sit up here and let you shoot threes and get off the hook and and not have to guard nobody.
They were doing not switching.
Like I said with that, that zone defense allows you to hide your You're you're weaker defensive players, right that zone and lets lets them hide him.
So get that switch.
Like Brian usually does pick him up.
But ourselves, that zone defense, it's a little harder for him to do that, but I think that will be all right.
He'll he'll we'll adjust.
This is a game of adjustment, man.
So they made the adjustments.
It's time for us to make ours and not only adjustment.
Just play better for the Lakers on the Lakers.
Have they just got to play better, like the first and foremost before anything come ready? Come.
You know what I'm saying? Come with it.
They didn't come with it today.
They just was lazy as hell, right? Just They just didn't have that fire.
They didn't match Miami's energy, and it's not the first time they've done that in this playoffs.
They did in Houston.
They did against they did against the Portland Trailblazers They did against Denver also.
They just have those games, and I'm not using that excuse.
I'm not saying it, you know it's okay because you should really want to bomb them.
I'm sure they're tired of being in that bubble.
I'm tired of being that bubble.
You want to see your kids, you want to see your family.
Let's let's go ahead and get these boys knocked out in four.
But it's it's That's easier said than nothing.
I could say that all day.
I'm not the one on the court, but I'm just saying I want to see my kids.
I want to see my wife.
I want to see my husband, my husband, e.
Want to see you know, my family.
I'm gonna try to get it done.
I'm trying to get it done, but it's this is definitely go to a 55 games Now.
LeBron had 25 10 8.
Uh, he shot, he got two blocks and I think his free throws Yep, back down his free throws it back down.
That's another key thing. Y'all.
That's another thing that bidders to those free throw shooting we didn't have.
Ah, great free throw shooting night Brown on the shot. 66%.
He went to the line three times. 69.
60 cent, 66% shooting.
Um, his 3.3 point.
It wasn't jumping.
Like I said, it just wasn't a really great offensive night for us.
And it was real stagnant at times, too.
That's that's what That's nothing the Lakers have an issue with also is just half court offense.
They could be so stagnant at times.
Um, I can't stand when they just stand there and ball watch.
And that's one thing I always harp on.
I'm like, Yo, cut, move Without the ball move, He's gonna LeBron Rondo is going to find right.
They find themselves standing along the perimeter, waiting for the past instead of resetting, moving, cutting, backdoor, go to the other side, you know, moving.
When the Lakers move, the ball hops, their offensive, their offensives.
But when they stand there and just watch LeBron watch a d and hoping to do something.
It's a bad shot nine times out of 10.
And one thing I do want to say is a D needs to.
When that double team is coming, he needs to get rid of the ball faster.
He had a turnover like that where it was like they were like, coming right at him.
And I'm like, bro, look, this person, this person is open and it became a turnover.
I think he needs toe, you know, read and react faster.
And I always say that.
So he has his games where if he if he is decisive and he reacts to the defense quicker, then it za good bucket.
It's a good pass.
But when he kind of stand there and let the defense set in, it's a turnover.
Um, so he has to be quicker, his motion and more decisive and what he wants to do If you see that if he if he gets the ball and he see that defense coming, you know, strong the double team, then you know, search about such around that that open player and get it out, toe out your hand, or at least throw it out and then reset because you get yourself in trouble like that.
So that's one thing I think he needs to continue to do and and make that adjustment to also because, you know, he was just unforced.
Some of these turnover unforced and everybody being stagnant.
Um, Dwight Howard, I don't know why Frank didn't play him, or I feel like he should have played Dwight a little more.
Um, just just for, you know, physicality, purposes and then rebounding.
You know, let me rebound at the end of the game.
I know Jimmy Butler said something like, Oh, you know, we rebounded.
And that was the difference.
I don't know if I could see the I'm trying to see the, uh, rebounds for the game, so yeah, well, they didn't outrebounding, but on the defensive side, the offensive rebounding the heat had 34.
We had 32 but we had 11 offensive rebounds and they had three.
But they definitely were better at rebounding in this game.
The heat work and I think that that was part two of him taking out the white so he I think he needs to play the white a little more for that purpose.
The white hat 44.
Yeah, he needs a little Come on, get them at least like, 20 minutes.
At least give him 20 minutes and no, man.
You know who I'm going to next? Twitter.
Been killing this guy? You already know who it is, Danny Green.
It's like I keep waiting on.
I just keep waiting for him to have those consecutive games, and I'm not.
I'm trying not to give up on it.
Get because I'm just like you.
You're here to suit and defend, and you're doing neither.
Like you're getting cooked on the defensive side, and then you're missing wide open threes.
So if you're not defending and you're not in threes, then what are you doing? I say that I say this again.
I think I said it on the last pot on the last podcast.
So same question I posed to you guys.
If he's not hitting his threes and he's not defending, then what are you doing? Danny like, what are you doing? What are you doing? It was once it was one game, I think, in a Siri's against it might have been against, um, Houston, and he was killing it on the rebounds.
So they're fine. You're rebounding.
Right? But in this Siri's, you're not doing anything.
Leave it all out on the floor.
Don't Don't leave nothing in the tank.
Okay? Here's your last game of the season, and then after this, you can go home.
You can chill being your podcast.
Do whatever you want to do.
I just need y'all you, Danny.
I'm talking to Danny right now.
Y'all to leave it out on the floor.
Leave it all out, man.
Like he just I don't know.
I'm hoping that he have a few games, you know? And he showed up Laker Nation right now because everybody chirping about him right now because he he's looking bad out there.
He looking really bad out there. He get cooked.
I mean, cooked when defender see, and they like barbecue chicken.
He is really gonna cook.
I feel like he's trying, Or am I giving him too much credit? But we're gonna say he drive.
We're gonna say he's trying, and we'll go from there.
But he just got to do better. He gotta be better.
He gotta hit those open shots like that that changes are often so much When you guys when him and KCP have solid games and we don't need him to give us, like 15 20 points, we just need him to hit, hit open shots like KCBT had a few.
You hit a few, give us 10 points from you, you know, 15% kcp its history, But I don't even know what he gave us.
Let me look. Let me see you all.
He gave us two points, 16 minutes, two points, three rebounds, one assists and yeah.
We can't have those.
We cannot have overs.
Hey, it's free throws, boy.
This may give us enough.
Danny, I'm moving on.
He just gave me a headache.
He really I just really got a headache from him, okay? KCP has been solid.
This Siri's right this whole playoffs.
Five points tonight with three rebounds, one assists, one Still, he had one for five.
So I don't know if you Yeah, I know that if our guards are shooting like this, we're losing the game.
We're losing the game every single time, every single time they have these games like this, where neither one of them get, you know, buckets or at least 10 points or so we lose the game for like, if they would have both gave us, you know, at least 10 points and coups.
Who's next? Who's got 19? But if we would have got some production, more production from our guards, this this would have probably made up for a d Being out right when When you got this going on, all the other players gotta gotta step it up.
So shout out to you at red and white blue socks.
Appreciate that for the tip.
Um, so all the other players have to step up.
They really really Oh, the whistle. Thank you.
Um, they really, really have to step up.
Man, You you can't write.
Everybody on the roster can't be, you know, just trash like that.
It would have made up for a D, but they didn't Like I said, I didn't expect the Lakers to sweep them.
I knew we were gonna have one of these games where they just wasn't ready, then come out literally ready.
They were just flat, super flat, Um, so moving on from now.
Like I said, KCP didn't have the greatest game, either.
He shot one for five.
He had five points, three rebounds, one assist, one still.
So I look forward to him for having a bounce back game.
He did that last time when we're playing against the Blazers and our backcourt was trash, they came back, they bounced back and it was a blowout.
I look forward to gain four, and I know that.
You know, the bounce back is loving right now, Um cools.
So let's talk about who's for a bit.
There's a petition that's going around stating that Kyle Kuzma shouldn't get a championship bring if the Lakers were to win the championship.
And whoever signed that petition or great for that is not a Lakers fan.
You're not a Laker, son.
What? What? Come on now, like y'all got to do better, man.
Whoever signed that, whoever created it, get out of here.
Get on your not a part of Laker Nation.
We don't condone that, bro.
We love our team, and we do love our team.
And if a player is playing good, we're gonna give them their props.
If they trash, we're gonna let him know what I'm saying.
But why would you say he don't deserve a ring? Why would he not? He just gave us 19 points.
Who's hasn't been, You know, the third option, like everybody thought he was gonna be, hasn't been consistent, but he contributes.
He contributed to this whole season, period.
So for somebody to try to make a petition about about that and people actually sign it like your super trash for that dumb.
You're not a part of like a nation going onto another fan base because we don't want that.
We don't condone that. We don't care about that.
That boy going, we get a ring, he's getting his ring, and he deserves his ring to like, which is being you Act like he didn't play.
Yes, he hasn't make assistant right.
He had his bonehead moments.
But everybody on that team has had that.
Hey, he had moments when he did crazy stuff or messed up.
You know what I'm saying? He had moments where he and he had money, but he did have great games.
Brown had moments where he could have great great games and messed up.
Right? Um Rondo.
Everybody man like, Come on, ain't nobody perfect.
He's still learning.
He's still young.
He's still gonna get better.
But you know you can't be.
Come on, man, That's That's stupid.
Like I said, go hop on another team because we don't want that over here.
Um, in Laker Nation.
So, um, Kujawa, 19 points, three rebounds.
He shot, you know, he shot, but he shot well, six or 13.
He had some some key threes when we were, you know, starting to fall.
He came and, you know, save this a little bit.
Like I said, I always want him to get better, more consistent and his shots and make those wide open threes.
It's like, let me tell we have a game when it's like teetering like that.
It's a always cools That's there at the top of the key.
Got a wide open shot and I'm like, you know, like range up on my seat like, make it, make it, make it clank.
And he's gonna get one of those shots.
One day he's gonna get one of those shots one day and we're all gonna explode.
He's gotten before, so look forward to that.
You know, shout out to cool, solid game from him. Keep going.
No, listen, don't listen to these haters.
I don't know if you see in that position or not, but hopefully, you know, he keeps he keeps rocking.
Um, Rondo had four points today.
Eight rebounds and five assists.
Man, did you see that block on? Wasn't Jimmy Butler problem through? That was a good That was pretty good effort from Rondo, man.
It really, really waas. I like that.
I like what I seen.
So, um, I just Rondo, he he shut us up.
He didn't have the greatest game today.
Like shooting wise.
He had two for eight, So 25% he you know he did.
She was well from three.
Like he usually does But that's okay.
That's okay. Bounce back.
Game is loaded right now.
They're gonna look at film, and you know they'll be okay.
So next is Caruso.
Crusoe had eight points.
Um, one rebound to assist and one still.
I don't know. I didn't felt like Caruso.
I feel like he was impactful, but he wasn't as impactful as he usually is.
It's always at least 123 plays for Cruz.
So you're like, Oh, Crusoe.
But today, he kind of was quiet today, but he still he still contributed with eight points.
Um, and then Morris, man or keep had himself a game.
He had himself a game.
So he also had 19 points, six rebounds to assist.
And that may be why Coach decided not to bring Dwight Howard back because more from shooting the ball so well.
So you kind of probably kind of wanted to go with the hot hand and, you know, leave a B out there, go small, leave a B out there, so why not start small, but leave a B out there at center and keep more sinking more, shooting the ball very well, um so that might be why he didn't bring, uh, Howard back in.
And I mean, that's fine.
He did contribute.
Like I said, 19 points.
Solid game from him.
He shot very well from three.
What? Yeah, he shot five for 11 from three.
So man, shout out to keep man.
Hopefully you can have another game like that.
Smith came in with three points.
Man, Dude took two threes, and it was like, the hardest three.
Like, Why did you step side Step three like, Why do you just didn't shoot that thing? There was another one that was like towards the end, he likes spent, ran to the corner and, like, Come on, just shoot the **** ball.
Like don't even do all that extras.
Smith man, what do we expect that have you always doing some crazy? He's always doing something crazy, but listen.

Now the keys to the next game definitely is gonna be for the Lakers to play better.
Obviously, play better turnovers.
Let's not do them turnovers no more. They gotta be better.
It's like the second game.
I feel like the files also, um, So the turnovers, the files match energy would be better energy wise in the Miami Heat Coming more focused. Don't be all lazy.
A D can't be in foul trouble like that.
So he has to be careful to.
And then, yeah, that's that's eight.
Overall, it this team, continue doing what you're doing.
Hit your open shots like this is not It's not rocket science, you know, this is a one off of them.
A bad game for them.
Like I said, they might have to.
They might have another game like this, but I really think it's gonna be Lakers and five.
Um so that would be my keys to next the next game, which is on where we have today Sunday when they so next game should be Tuesday.
That should be Game four.
I expect the Lakers bounce back.
Um, I might get back on.
I'm probably get on the next day because they're probably late over here.
Eso that's gonna do it for this episode of Laker Room podcast.
I'm your host, G.
I like to thank you guys for tuning in today and have a good night.
