00:00:08
okay, but yeah.
00:00:17
All right.
00:00:18
We are live way.
00:00:21
Uh, mixed fans.
00:00:24
What's up? Next TV? What? Whichever one you want to call it? What's up spot can weigh a lot.
00:00:31
Right now.
00:00:32
We're talking about the New York Knicks trying to cycle through some of these new stories as they happen.
00:00:38
Um, life in direct.
00:00:40
You're also gonna talk some New York Giants and some boxing today.
00:00:46
A ****ing that's all. You freak.
00:00:49
Yeah, I ran e I love it, man.
00:00:52
Big free Z to everybody.
00:00:56
What's up? What's up? What's up? All right, all right, all right.
00:01:01
So I'm gonna let you can't get off right now.
00:01:04
What do you want to talk about with knicks today? Um, So, um, shameless plug.
00:01:13
I'm doing some videos editing for blurring steers, doing some cutups of some actions and such from the 1920 season and the 18 19 season.
00:01:27
Because I think we're down Ah, lot on our young guys.
00:01:31
And I think we're more down on them than we should be.
00:01:36
And the reason being is ah, lot of the ineptitude.
00:01:41
Um, and inefficiencies.
00:01:42
Um, that I see on tape are small things such as is, um, not knowing when to space on offense like how much space do you? How much debt do you need in in a fade in a corner? How much? How much debt do you need for a screen at the top of the key? How far away do you set the screen from the ball handler If you're the screener and stuff like that, Um, it's small stuff that could be coached up, and and what is obvious is obvious to me, um, that Thibodeau will correct these things on site like these things like like the basic.
00:02:21
The principle for a screen center is when you're looking to set the screen, you need to be at least 4 to 5 ft away from the ball handler.
00:02:31
So you and him enough time to adjust to where you are on the floor and to rub his defender off, right? Um, if a screener rushes up to the ball handler never know where the ball handler is supposed to set his screen, because both are moving at the same time, and you don't want that to happen.
00:02:48
You want to set your screen as get your hips and butt down and stay firm set up a roadblock basically so the ball handler can adjust to the screen by seeing it 4 ft away and many of the adjustment as he gets to it.
00:03:02
Plus, it also gives you time.
00:03:06
So when the screener off, in case you don't need the screen, But if you are bunched up together, you can't waving when you're waving the screen or off.
00:03:15
You basically have two defenders there at the ball, and you know what I'm saying? So this stuff, like the or stuff like that that is not, say I'm saying for Mutual Robinson, right? It's stuff like that for, say, a Mitch that could be coached up that can make the screen and roll better for for him and say, a dentist Smith Jr or R. J.
00:03:36
Barrett So e se.
00:03:39
I said all of that to say that our players aren't as bad as what people what pundits say, and we look at once statistic in general, and that's 3.3%.
00:03:50
And if that's not, if that's not league average or above, they think the players we drafted or a bus and that's not accurate.
00:03:57
Mhm.
00:03:59
Okay, so can I play Devil's advocate for you.
00:04:03
Sure.
00:04:04
All right.
00:04:06
Um, there's some people that would say the New York Knicks just have no talent, just like you're saying.
00:04:14
Right? Um or, well, talent.
00:04:16
No Voy.
00:04:17
Right.
00:04:18
Um, if a guy is good at shooting at what point in time do we like? If we're not looking at the stats, what are we looking for To show us that this guy is actually good at shooting? Uh, eso if you don't look at that specifically, how do you quantify if this dude is This is a yo hey, look who joined the chat.
00:04:49
Yo, my man would ****.
00:04:50
What up? What? So my man, my man would shed 14 1914 from From from next, Twitter is in the building.
00:05:01
Shout out to my man's.
00:05:03
That's like, That's like my little brother right there.
00:05:06
Yeah, way Go at it every day on Twitter.
00:05:09
Just about, uh Is he born in 1914? No, that's a frat thing, man.
00:05:15
That's a a fraternity thing.
00:05:17
So what I saw in 1915 I was like, Yeah, he frat s, but, um but yeah, but yeah, Thio to your question, though.
00:05:27
Um, e think what we do and I think it's a serious mistake.
00:05:32
I think we use athleticism as a justification for someone that has scoring ability, right? And and so, while while athleticism is, um, you know, one of those things for me, athleticism is like for your car.
00:05:51
The athletic athleticism is horsepower for your car.
00:05:55
It's not the more it's not the transmission and such because, you know, what I'm saying is not that the key component, but it makes a key component better.
00:06:03
You know what I'm saying? Like like like every car, every running car's gonna have an engine.
00:06:08
But but getting it more horsepower makes it, you know, perform better.
00:06:12
You know, I'm saying just like athleticism makes you know, I'm saying an average athlete perform perform better, but I think to answer your question, athleticism is what, For instance, for instance, if John Moran wasn't super athletic, they still had the same skills he had Right now, he would still be a pretty good eh NBA player, right? But athleticism turns him into, you know, I'm saying a guy I probably would have ah, 12 year career be borderline all star and turns him into somebody.
00:06:43
If Costa If all.
00:06:45
If everything falls into place, John Moran could be, ah, Hall of Fame type player if everything falls into place now, I'm not saying that he is right now I'm talking about He doesn't hurt, Has the organization is smart? They surround him.
00:07:00
The talent, um you know, hey, continues to work hard and things like that.
00:07:06
Then you could see you can see my man.
00:07:09
You know, I'm saying become a hall of Famer if everything fell, right, right.
00:07:13
And that's because of his athletic ability.
00:07:15
Not not looking at just his shooting numbers like you mentioned.
00:07:19
Well, okay, so that will get again.
00:07:24
Um, yeah.
00:07:27
Like, I look at a lot of the guys on our team.
00:07:33
Um, just to give everyone a little history lesson on the team.
00:07:37
And many Knicks fans already know the history of the players that we already have.
00:07:42
You look at Denis Smith Jr.
00:07:44
Who wasn't the shooter before. Predraft.
00:07:46
Uh, Frank Nil.
00:07:49
Akina.
00:07:51
I won't touch on Frank.
00:07:53
Okay.
00:07:56
Uh oh.
00:07:58
Are GE is not a shooter, right? Right.
00:08:02
They all needed Thio develop their jump shot.
00:08:05
Kevin Knox was probably the best pre draft shooter that we drafted.
00:08:10
So far along with Gigi.
00:08:12
Um, but like guys like that who hadn't really Ben shooters that come into the league and the elite average is terrible.
00:08:27
And then on top of that, they don't show like in the question mark and see someone asking Isn't that the players are bad and they're making the offense back look bad? Or is it that the offense, which many Knicks fans argue the opposite? That the offense was bad and it's making the players look bad? All right? Like, how do you explain that to the national media? You know, like because we watch every name they don't and they judge it by stats and stuff like that and some of them, with the spacing, is not optimal.
00:09:08
But then they believe that we just have bad players from Jump Street.
00:09:12
You know well, part of that part of that is poor execution in basic offenses like so, for instance, Fizdale offense was non existent.
00:09:23
Mike Miller's offense was basic, right? So what happens is you give me an example, Julius, right? I mean, I'm sorry.
00:09:31
Alfred painting comes around the the Mitchell Robinson screen, and, um, Julius Randle is cutting from the baseline from the dunker spot and his wide open with his man on his hip.
00:09:46
So Elfrid Payton seems that doesn't see a window and keeps the ball and throws up a floater, and it winds up being a brick and the team is in transition.
00:09:56
Out of the way, right? Chris Paul Seems that, and so will I have two options.
00:10:04
I could put my put my defender in jail a little bit like getting on my hip and draw Randall's defender and throw him a bounce pass.
00:10:12
Four. I could turn this into a lob city.
00:10:14
I could put a live over the top of the defender for Julius Randle.
00:10:17
Right? So So when you when you as a point guard, you see those options and you're like, Well, how come Alfred Peyton doesn't do that? Well, it because because he's god**** Elfrid Payton.
00:10:27
That Z I'm sorry, I'm sorry for that, But I'm frustrated, man.
00:10:32
When I see that on tape like, for instance, frankly, Latina will do that.
00:10:37
Just that same thing with that Chris Paul will do.
00:10:39
But he won't do other things like Frank Frankie Latina has inside the paint.
00:10:43
He's an excellent passer he'll find guys in the paint where you rely or or manipulate the man and through a bounce pass to a big for a dunk.
00:10:53
He's a good with Colin Quinn and collar Quinn like he would throw the live to collar, Quinn and Colloquial would catch it and come down with it and then look to shoot a jumper.
00:11:04
Which, because collar corn is not.
00:11:09
Yeah, Carlo Queen is not super athletic like that, but he is super fundamentally sound.
00:11:15
Callow Corn is as a big, but the frustrating thing about that is, is if he were able to catch that that loud from Frank and finished, it's two points, but now you're telling Color Quinn to shoot 8 ft, 6 ft jumper or something, and nobody is guaranteed to make that 100% of the time.
00:11:34
So you know what I mean? So when you go in the national, when the national media looks at the next, they see they look at the box score.
00:11:43
Washington Wizards, 1 23 New York Knicks 106 and they automatically assume that we suck.
00:11:50
What they don't know what they don't get.
00:11:52
What they don't see is you know all the plays during the game network this close to being executed, like you know what I mean? Like, Okay.
00:12:01
For instance, out of bounds plays.
00:12:04
And I touched on this a lot because I think Erik Spoelstra, Brad Stevens.
00:12:09
Rick Carlisle.
00:12:11
Um, who else? Um, the guy in the Atlanta I keep forgetting that the coach in Atlanta, but what they do is they have They have young guys and they don't call, They don't call.
00:12:23
Um, they don't use whiteboard to get veterans looks, they get them, They use the white board for the young guys to get the young guys looks.
00:12:30
And what that does is is increasing the confidence in their young guys.
00:12:34
Like you will see Jason Tatum get about six points during the reign.
00:12:39
Say, from out of bounds plays.
00:12:40
And that sounds like a lot.
00:12:41
But when you're talking about the bomb going out of balance and recalled, I mean the best season was just look at him. Go.
00:12:49
Caddy, Caddy, Caddy.
00:12:50
Well, everybody know.
00:12:51
Everybody knows that's gonna be a pin down for Jason team and get 18 ft jump on the baseline.
00:12:56
Right? That's just what that is.
00:12:58
You know, but Fizdale Mike Miller never did that for Damian, Damian Dotson or Kevin Knots.
00:13:05
I mean, if you can imagine what Arjun Barracks scoring average would be if he had three extra points or Kevin Knots with three extra points on their scoring average, we're going to be having the same conversation about that.
00:13:18
Interesting.
00:13:19
So let me ask you this How? Yeah, Okay, let me tackle Frank for a second, because this is where No, no, I'm when it comes to the New York.
00:13:35
Um so Frank Miller.
00:13:37
Kina.
00:13:38
I'm kind of sensitive to it because I was a Phil Phil Jackson fan.
00:13:42
I grew up a fan of Phil Jackson is offenses corruption, and I played in high school for a coach that was very much a Phil Jackson fan, too.
00:13:58
And he, um, he tried to implement the triangle offense to my detriment.
00:14:04
So because we were too young to be playing the triangle, be honest, even though the Princeton offense can be talked to high school, you know, in high school it wasn't something that, you know should be taught on that level.
00:14:21
But he was such a fan that, you know, anyway, so I have Ah, understanding of of the triangle.
00:14:31
And this was something that was brought up.
00:14:33
My Josh, that don't draft Killian Hayes because Killian Hayes is is, um, is a starting point guard, and that means you got to get rid of Frank.
00:14:50
So right that that's just false, right? I just wanted to address that part.
00:14:55
The second part is you'll Akina when you look at his game.
00:15:00
I don't know if you followed what he was like in France before the draft, and I'm not talking about E.
00:15:08
I'm not talking about when he was in Strasbourg.
00:15:10
I'm talking about when he played for U 16 and U 18.
00:15:16
That wasn't I didn't if you ever look at those games, and I'll employ anybody to check it out like Frank Miller, Aquino was actually closer toe Brandon Roy type player than what he is now.
00:15:32
Like he is broken as a player to me was broken and I think he's repeating himself right now.
00:15:39
So like when I hear you saying the mid range jump shot like you know, Frank milking passing in the middle range to mean, especially the years of Kyle O Quinn and stuff when he was to me broken.
00:15:53
He was.
00:15:54
He was scared to take the ball himself, Um, so, like, it's rookie year.
00:16:03
I see a lot of passes that he could have taken himself and attracted more attention, and he instead passed it, and it looked like a good pass.
00:16:12
It actually.
00:16:13
Technically, it's a good pass, but he didn't tacking on his room actually draw attention to himself.
00:16:21
More passes later on.
00:16:24
So people would after a while, like off of them, especially in the year, to back off of them like 6 ft, take away to drive, take away the mid range and then take away the past way.
00:16:36
Had nothing.
00:16:37
Nothing year, too.
00:16:40
So, like, I I hear you with the thing.
00:16:43
But then I think of it as a fault.
00:16:45
Like he was scared, like Jeff Warner said, had him scared to get pulled out the game because he messed up once and he was pulled.
00:16:54
You know, same thing, because daily one, you had to a change a little bit.
00:16:59
But at the same time, Frank, you know he had a week psyche at that time.
00:17:02
I don't know what it's gonna be like next year, so you can't come back in with a week's like Dennis Smith.
00:17:10
Um, on the other hand, had way better training in in Dallas when he player he was coming from Dallas with Rick Carlisle.
00:17:21
Training him is so much better than the player that he is today because he had lapses in training, right? Right, Yes, I hear what you're saying is just that.
00:17:33
And then right now the draft is about to come up next month.
00:17:37
Who knows what's gonna happen? Because they could easily draft another guy or or get another guy by trade and that just who's up all their development again, right? Right.
00:17:50
Well, it's out in a way, and I'm sorry for interrupting because I didn't want the, um um, you continue with Frankie Latino.
00:18:00
But here's the thing with Frank, though, and with G S. J.
00:18:04
And with ultra painting who's still on the roster and with the point guard that you draft and the point guard that you trade fall, who do you play to unlock R.
00:18:13
J.
00:18:14
Barrett and Julius Randle? Because Chris Paul, with Julius Randle to me, is a 41 40 41 41 team easily you know.
00:18:24
I'm saying, I think that gets you to the playoffs.
00:18:27
Right.
00:18:28
Okay, um, if you draft, if you draft a killing haze, then you have to develop another young point guard and wait 2 to 3 years in order for him to become to get to the verge of his s****om or his his in the NBA maturity, so to speak, just like he did with with Frank.
00:18:49
You, um go get, say a free agent point guards say like a Fred VanVleet.
00:18:56
Does that stop you from going to get another star to play with R J and Randall? Does vanvleet RJ Randall get you to the playoffs? I don't think so.
00:19:06
I think I think it gets you to about 35 wins and a lot of frustration.
00:19:10
Right, Andi? Then when you look at, say, the point guards that are out now are coming out.
00:19:15
Now all of them are flog.
00:19:17
Um, like we don't know if if the mellow ball has that dog in him, because everywhere he's gone, he's been the star of the show, like, you know, everywhere he's gone.
00:19:30
Everybody was so happy to be in the same place with him.
00:19:32
You see that weird, um would allow him to do whatever type thing.
00:19:39
You know what I'm saying? But then you have killing Haynes, who as a one handed point guard, has huge upside court visit.
00:19:47
But he's on Lee going to go, right? Right.
00:19:49
We know that he was the left handed point guards that likes to go right.
00:19:52
And then he foursome left.
00:19:54
He picks up his dribble and looks to pass back out to the perimeter.
00:19:57
Right? So it's gonna take a year or soul to break him out of that habit.
00:20:01
And if he can't get out of what habit, then you're like, Well, now we took minutes away from Frank.
00:20:08
Well, can I Can I Can I hit you with something right quick? And this is just a draft theory I want to see first, I'm about to answer your question in just a second would shed and thanks Scarborough for the tip.
00:20:22
Um, starting off first with with Killian Higgs.
00:20:27
And this is a draft area. I have.
00:20:29
You all could tell me what you think about it, But the n T W A tournament did not happen this past year, right? Right.
00:20:40
Um, March was pretty much the last time some of these kids played basket like official basketball team basketball. Yeah.
00:20:49
Hey, the draft is gonna be next month.
00:20:53
So you're talking about probably 8 to 9 months between actually joining a team, and then they're talking about the NBA season.
00:21:05
Might start back.
00:21:06
Start back in March next year.
00:21:08
Right? So So you're talking about a year off a year off s, so this is extended off season for a draft pick, right? So, these guys, if on their own let's just say, um, we're talking about Killian Hayes predraft process, which he I'm gonna cut him a little bit of slack.
00:21:30
His team did start back playing in in July, and I think they just stopped playing, like, last month or something like that.
00:21:38
So he didn't play some basketball, but it's pretty draft process started in March.
00:21:46
If he doesn't learn a right hand dribble, right.
00:21:51
You can't do that by time.
00:21:54
November when we start doing the combine, I'm not drafted him right, because that means you're not serious.
00:22:03
Same thing for, um, same thing for what's his name.
00:22:08
Let's say Halliburton, Halliburton, Undersized doesn't have the weight if he doesn't put on weight and doesn't add the size and then start adding inside dribble where he could get to the rim at eso.
00:22:25
Like exactly that's my not my little predraft.
00:22:28
And then, by the time the season start, you better be **** near perfect because you had extended time toe work with professionals.
00:22:36
By the time you get drafted, you could be on on a schedule.
00:22:40
Where you working with Johnny Bryant every day until the individual is all right.
00:22:46
So where your personal trainer before you? Director Johnnie Bryan, to your point, you have an excellent point.
00:22:51
Yeah.
00:22:52
So, like, they gotta like this.
00:22:54
This draft.
00:22:55
Even though this draft is not the best, it is not the best.
00:23:00
You better be training.
00:23:01
Um, let me answer what sheds question both.
00:23:06
Yes. They can't play 20.
00:23:08
Well, actually, no.
00:23:09
I take that back which had they both can play 20 minutes, 20 minutes per game because Frank could always to guard Frank, Frank doesn't have toe play on ball.
00:23:21
Frank can always, you know, not he doesn't have to monopolize a possession.
00:23:28
He can play in the floor of things.
00:23:32
Because remember last offseason, he played next to Evan, 40.
00:23:36
Like he for France, he didn't start every game.
00:23:39
He played hard.
00:23:41
Sometimes he came off the bench sometimes and then also, he started at point guard sometimes.
00:23:47
So he's like a 5252 player like the guy is just a sweet Army knife.
00:23:53
Coach's pet.
00:23:54
You just put him with you.
00:23:59
Your question.
00:24:00
But you could continue freezing.
00:24:03
So so So I think so.
00:24:05
I think what we've done is put Frank into a place where hey is not comfortable and we're not comfortable in that place with himself.
00:24:13
So, for instance, e I I always call Frank the Salutatorian, right? Like never gonna be a valedictorian.
00:24:21
But he was definitely the salutatorian, like he's like, he's not gonna be, um, he'll be smart enough to do in the top three in his class.
00:24:29
But then, like we say with the extra stuff, he's just not that guy.
00:24:34
But he's Mawr attached to the faculty, like you know what I'm saying? Like like attached to the coaching staff, like eventually I see.
00:24:41
So I'm not going, Frank.
00:24:44
The only thing I think that stopping frankly looking up from being a high caliber starting point guard, and I know this is gonna sound like a stretch, but hear me, I don't know.
00:24:54
My The only thing Frank is missing is that bully.
00:24:58
Is that that that dog that not only wants to dog his opponents but dog his teammates? Right.
00:25:08
So the thing about being a leader is not, you know, just saying everybody to the picnic.
00:25:13
What I'm saying You down by seven with three minutes left to go, and Julius Randle is saying I'm the man in this team that I'm gonna take the shot and you know what I'm saying? And Luke Morris is like, man, I'm a dog.
00:25:26
I'm big for This ends up well, Frank Miller key and go to them and tell them to shut the hell up and want to play that the coach called and they better not get outside of the play.
00:25:37
It will Frank do that? I don't see Frank Habitat at him yet.
00:25:41
What I'm saying at the point when the coach calls the play, you want everybody to be brought into the play and like, Look, don't you break this playoff.
00:25:50
Don't you break this thing out because Coach Randy called the plane.
00:25:53
We are running, and, you know, I don't think Frank has that in him.
00:25:57
And none of them young point guards do none of them Young point guards in the NBA do it.
00:26:02
If you if you ask me There were some.
00:26:05
There were some say, for instance, there is a when people were people confused on been putting on characteristics kind of money. The argument.
00:26:15
So you have a floor general like Chris Paul that will go to his teammates and getting their face if they make a mistake on the play that's called right engineers.
00:26:25
A playmaker, a guy so talented that he can make it to play, make a play on offense despite what the defense is doing and overcome the mistakes of his teammates.
00:26:37
You know, saying, like, say, friends.
00:26:38
John Collins doesn't set a good screen.
00:26:41
They jump out an ice tray, but Troy was 30 ft away.
00:26:45
Trade could make a 30 ft three pointer, right? You could do that.
00:26:48
I mean, we've seen him do that, and he's done that about about 10 times the last two years against us.
00:26:55
We've seen him do that right, but what we haven't seen, though, when they get down.
00:27:00
And then we need legit play.
00:27:02
Players run.
00:27:03
He He's not going to do that.
00:27:05
And that's the same thing with friends.
00:27:07
I think Frank is not a floor general yet.
00:27:09
In time, I think you can become that.
00:27:12
But at the same time, you have to have the right coach to instill certain things in him.
00:27:18
Like when Frank goes to the bench and the coach is looking the other way and because he's disappointed.
00:27:23
You're like, You don't even have faith in your point guard, man.
00:27:26
Your point guard can't even be an extension of you because you over here frustrated about other stuff.
00:27:32
You know, I'm saying the four general is supposed to be an extension of the coach on the floor, and the coach don't have a clue to the point That is not gonna have a clue.
00:27:42
Can I pose a question to you? Um, who do you think Chris Paul would be on influential to between Frank and en de yesterday? Um, to be honest with you, I think it's d s j um, because because because Frank, thanks the game just like a crisp.
00:28:05
All right, So, So, frank.
00:28:07
sees my knock on Frank is as him doing too passive.
00:28:12
I said all that stuff.
00:28:13
I'm doing this big, huge diatribe I had, like, I feel a busted filibustered.
00:28:17
You basically to say that Frank is too passive to play point guard, right? Um D s j, though however, has a bit of that next he missed to him that he wants to dominate the not He just can't figure it out.
00:28:37
So now you know, he can't figure out how to use his super athleticism and and a little bit of a point guard skills that he has Now, if you bring in the US a.
00:28:45
Chris Paul somebody to unlock that, that's you know, that mental aspect of Dsk's game.
00:28:52
Now you have a guy that super athletic and can think can and can think the game at a high level.
00:28:58
That's dangerous.
00:28:59
It's almost, you know, you almost make turning him into like a hero's type player.
00:29:05
Now, Derrick Rose was the best point, the best floor general best distributor, but who was in a D rose across half court.
00:29:12
He was in attack mode, the slightest the slightest sliver of space he was going to attack the basket.
00:29:18
And if we could get that out of the d. S. J.
00:29:20
Then and I'm not saying I'm not saying that Dsk's Derrick Rose, Everybody don't start.
00:29:26
Oh, please call them.
00:29:27
That's not what I'm saying.
00:29:29
What I'm saying is, is that would do the archetype that we could get from a d S J the super athlete, the pre injury, um, archetype, the pre injury there, Rose archetype attacked the basket with the slightest sliver of space and think the game, you know, because Derrick Rose with Derrick Rose had to learn is how to manipulate the defense so I can get that sliver of space.
00:29:52
So I so that I can attack the basket, you know, saying d este has to find that out as well s.
00:30:00
So let me ask you this.
00:30:02
Um we're talking about Chris. Paul.
00:30:06
I'm just going pie in the sky.
00:30:08
I'm just being as Devil advocate as possible.
00:30:12
Vo.
00:30:19
Okay, uh, Thibodeau's guys, Do you Do you want a Derrick Rose back in New York? Yeah, he's a He's been a model citizen since he left from Minnesota. Right.
00:30:36
Um, but all I'm saying is I'm not saying that it's perfect.
00:30:42
Of course I'm just saying one of the one of Tim bottles X guys just kinda like Okay, remember when when Jimmy went toe to Minnesota at the beginning? I'm not saying at the end when he was sleeping, another guy's girlfriends and all that stuff I'm saying, as I'm because Derrick Rose, in a sense, is kind of like on the under the downside right now, right? You got drafted in 2010 um, or 2020 or nine or whatever it is.
00:31:18
But Derrick Rose in a mentor ship role for a guy like D S J to help him to teach him some things.
00:31:29
Let's just say, um let's just say he comes in and he teaches DFJ how to use his athleticism from a site to site instead of a vertical.
00:31:44
Uh, he's teaching him how.
00:31:46
Okay, you need to get your body right so you could walk differently.
00:31:51
Uh, like it.
00:31:54
Oh, I'm saying is like we because we just like Chris Paul is gonna take a lot of assets to get.
00:32:02
Derrick Rose may not take as much, Right, right.
00:32:07
You know, And my my idea for the off season is one out of two things.
00:32:14
I personally believe we should draft Devon vessel.
00:32:17
Right? Uh, that's a two guard, right.
00:32:22
A production did the next draft last year in the first round in the first round.
00:32:29
That was the two guards, right? E move on RJ to the three.
00:32:39
The seal at the two.
00:32:42
Because vessel could also stated 32 It doesn't matter.
00:32:47
Well, then ask them either Frank, to start as point guard or if I get a point guard like Fred Van Fleet, Chris Paul or even the SJ, whichever one they will be my starting point guard.
00:33:05
It could be D J.
00:33:06
Augustine, but that would be my point guard, right? So, yeah.
00:33:11
On the flip side, we draft a guy like Killian Hayes.
00:33:15
I'm going after to guard and free agency or by trade.
00:33:19
So that way, like a drew holiday.
00:33:23
Bradley Beal.
00:33:24
Something like that.
00:33:25
I'm trying to get somebody even, um, uh, Gordon here would like.
00:33:32
I will go after somebody that could take the ball handling responsibility off Killian Hayes for at least one or two years so that he could develop and help his game and steady the team while we go through the struggles of trying to develop a point guard.
00:33:51
Well, I would say I would say this thistle is This is, you know, um, I guess it's gonna be controversial, but I'm not.
00:34:01
I'm not opposed to being controversial on the Internet, you know? But so here's my thing.
00:34:06
The only way the only way I signed a Fred VanVleet is if I trade for Chris Paul, I need to have those feet together in order to make the point guard situation work.
00:34:19
And and so here's why.
00:34:22
Right? So we've only seen a small sample signs of Fred Vanvleet playing point guard unto himself, being a team leader.
00:34:32
And it wasn't a successful thing.
00:34:34
I think he was five and eight without Kyle Lowry.
00:34:36
Right? Um, if I can get, say, Chris, Paul, Toby, not the cow lowering, but be the complementary point guard, the veteran point guard that, um, that Fred Van Vleuten, um, it was used to having.
00:34:53
Then I'll do that and then move RJ to the three.
00:34:56
Right? And then and I'm looking to draft or wherever will be topping this.
00:35:01
That's the person I'm looking to draft.
00:35:02
Even if I have to trade some pieces to trade up and get him because I think in a any deal that gets Chris Paul, I think you got to give he just Randall to Oklahoma City.
00:35:13
You know what I'm saying? You have to grow up something.
00:35:16
In order to get something, you have to give up talent if you're not giving up draft picks.
00:35:22
So if you So in that situation, you would look at you have Ah, Chris, Paul.
00:35:28
Fred VanVleet R J.
00:35:29
Barrett will be topping and Mitchell Robinson off your bench.
00:35:33
You have Frankie Latina? Um, Kevin Knox? Um, probably some veteran guys.
00:35:40
Hopefully, Hopefully we can figure out a way.
00:35:42
The heat, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis Way Can't keep Bobby Person at 15 mill.
00:35:48
We just can't.
00:35:49
I mean, unless he brings, uh, double the production he brought coming off the bench last year, right? Let me you try Thio.
00:36:02
Resign Bobby at a lower price.
00:36:04
Yes, yes, I look at look at doing that.
00:36:08
But unfortunately, the C b a the c b a won't allow you to do it until until after an extended amount of time.
00:36:16
I think it's like 60 days or something weird.
00:36:18
You can't just you can't just cut a guy and sign them back for more money.
00:36:22
I don't I don't think you can do that.
00:36:24
S o okay.
00:36:27
If we can figure out a way to, um, sign them, you know, you know, keep him for for less money.
00:36:34
That's what I want to do, right? Because you don't find 6 10 guys with his energy level on defense and notice.
00:36:40
I said energy level.
00:36:41
I didn't say period defensive ability because I think limited.
00:36:46
I think he plays defense hard, but it doesn't.
00:36:50
Doesn't always defense smart.
00:36:52
So he's not.
00:36:54
He's not.
00:36:55
Ah, lock down, defender.
00:36:56
He's not a rim protector, not a perimeter defender.
00:36:59
But he does bring energy.
00:37:02
You know, I'm saying to that to that position.
00:37:04
So, um, and when you remember the Wizards game, he guarded like, four people and switch to four people in one possession and you don't see, um, 16 power forwards that can shoot the three show.
00:37:17
That much energy on D now with that said, What that said, um fervently and Chris Paul, to me is a must have together, like, you know, I don't want Chris Paul by himself.
00:37:31
I don't want Fred Vanvleet here by himself because he's not shown proven to be a team leader and for what we'd have to pay to get him.
00:37:40
We have to bring a guy that can help him succeed.
00:37:44
Interesting.
00:37:46
Uh, and I know that's and that's, like, $64 million locked up and your backcourt, but so what if it's gonna get you do it's going to get you to 45 games.
00:37:57
Oh, my Oh, my.
00:37:58
If it gives us a 50 games, would that be worth it? $64 million in the backcourt.
00:38:05
Definitely worth it.
00:38:06
Um, And it takes all the pressure off J.
00:38:11
Barrett doing the things that he likes to do.
00:38:13
R J R J would be the shipbuilding Alexander type.
00:38:18
Um, and where he do like the third guard, Beneficiary of a lot of open looks and attacking the basket.
00:38:29
Yeah, that that at least gives you two guys that can hit shots.
00:38:33
I just Okay, that's 60 mil.
00:38:38
Six, maybe 70 mil.
00:38:40
Just locked up on those two, right? And you're still talking about you gotta steal him away from from Port Toronto, Right? Um, at 22 million.
00:38:55
I don't know if Toronto matches that because we want you on this next summer.
00:39:00
Thank you.
00:39:02
Well, I mean, they have no one on the books, and Gasol just just retired.
00:39:08
So you got to remember that, Okay? He retired.
00:39:12
He announced his retirement just a couple of days.
00:39:14
Two days ago.
00:39:16
Okay, So that immediately frees up money off their books.
00:39:20
Uh, let me look.
00:39:25
I'm looking up on Toronto's, uh, cap situation right now.
00:39:36
You mean a That's the point.
00:39:41
Guards together.
00:39:43
I think that's the I think that's the wave.
00:39:46
When you look at the teams that are that are in the that are dominating the playoffs right now, they basically have, ah, point guard through wind players in a big that that does nothing but block shots and rebound and rim runs.
00:40:00
Um, So if you if you get a Fred Vanvleet, you have to get a superior position at point guard player at point guard to cover up his weaknesses.
00:40:11
Because Fred bandleaders 6 ft 5, 11 right? Who doesn't finish at the basket? He I think he finished in the bottom.
00:40:18
He finished in the bottom 10 of players that finished at the basket.
00:40:23
So He's just a jump shooter, you know, when it comes.
00:40:26
Thio scoring.
00:40:27
And then and then.
00:40:29
So what else does he bring on offense? Is he a high assist? Will assist are based on other players making baskets for you.
00:40:37
So so don't passing the ball to Pascal Cioncan is one thing.
00:40:41
Pass the ball to Kevin Knox is a different thing.
00:40:44
You let me eso big show.
00:40:50
Yeah, now can you make knots better? We hope so.
00:40:56
You know, Did we make, um, see, I come better? If that's the case, then the sky is bright.
00:41:02
The future's bright for the players that that we have.
00:41:05
But even with that said, though, even with that said the lineup of um, your rookie overtopping um R.
00:41:14
J.
00:41:15
Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, um, Fred Vanvleet and Chris Paul definitely gives Knicks fans something to hope for during the season.
00:41:24
Now, what happens if Old Man River with her? What happens if Chris Paul gets hurt, right? You like Frank and D S J could actually fill in people spot like spots.
00:41:40
Frank is a capable backup to me.
00:41:43
Um, so Toronto on Lee has Lowry for one more year next year, right? they got non power.
00:41:56
They got Lowry at 30 mil.
00:41:59
Non power at 10.
00:42:02
They have the team option player option, so he's gonna probably come back in 2021 pack record at four mil.
00:42:11
Stanley Johnson, Player option.
00:42:14
That's four mil.
00:42:17
See, how come is another 30 mil and and an OBE for four mill, So yeah.
00:42:26
O g N N o b e Got a couple.
00:42:30
You know, Terrance Davis, Matt Thomas, Duane Hernandez.
00:42:35
They're all altogether.
00:42:36
That cap speak cap is coming up at 86 mil.
00:42:41
Okay, so if the cap is gonna be one on nine, right, they're gonna have, like, 25 to sign them.
00:42:51
And then they could go over the cap.
00:42:53
Resigned some of these other guys because Serge Ibaka is gone, right? Marc Gasol is gone.
00:43:00
Yeah, um, they don't have to resign.
00:43:03
Hollis Jefferson.
00:43:05
Like all these guys, they could have a brand new team next year And the year after that, because their books right now, they only on the books for when you're on.
00:43:17
This is a free agent.
00:43:20
They only got 45 46 mil on the books.
00:43:24
Okay, that's enough of Hamas that you know.
00:43:28
So you're talking about in that one year, Even if they signed Fred ran fleet for 22 that only brings them up to 66.
00:43:38
Okay, so they only got to survive one year without Yannas.
00:43:44
They'll have.
00:43:45
See how come they could.
00:43:46
They could sign you, honest for another 40 million and then sign a bunch of midlevel.
00:43:52
All right, upgrade somebody, Jilly.
00:43:54
Guys, which they have been doing, right? So they had a good position to Sandy. Honest.
00:44:00
Regardless, I don't know.
00:44:02
I feel like they're gonna sign on Van Fleet no matter what.
00:44:05
Because that's what they've been talking about.
00:44:07
Because Kyle Laurie is he is getting worse and worse, and he's only got 30 mil next year.
00:44:15
And then he's gonna need a contract at 35 age 35.
00:44:20
At that point, I don't know if they're going to sign him at age 35.
00:44:25
So I am.
00:44:26
So I watch these Detroit Pistons, um, content contributors, right? And they are trash, by the way.
00:44:35
Detroit Pistons content contributors.
00:44:37
Y'all are garbage.
00:44:39
You need to just get include your day job and come on and the Knicks fans join me and Nick G Johnson Really basketball, you know, But anyway, anyway, what they do is they talk about the scenario where, um then trade for Chris Paul or son Fred VanVleet and draft Devin vessel.
00:44:59
That's the dream scenario.
00:45:00
So I like three of three of those guys.
00:45:02
So there, and I forget what they pick.
00:45:05
But wherever they pick, they're a danger to what the Knicks want to do.
00:45:09
Because a lot of the stuff that they talk sounds just like some of the stuff that we talk like, um, like, for instance, you know, do we take Devin Vassal or Killian? Hes like.
00:45:22
That's what Detroit Pistons talk about.
00:45:24
Their thing is, is talking about also resigning Christian would right and then looking to sign Vanvleet and or Chris Paul toe have a Luke Kennard VanVleet Chris Paul type backcourt with Devin Vassal, um Devin, Devin, vessel, Blake Griffin and Christian would.
00:45:47
So they're there because they're a threat to us and and another organization that thinks the same thing.
00:45:54
I think there is one player there, One player away.
00:45:57
There's the Phoenix Suns.
00:45:59
The Phoenix Suns are one point guard away from being legit, top four in the West and people will say, Well, man, the Phoenix Suns, they don't have such and such and such and such.
00:46:11
They have a you know, a man.
00:46:13
The Phoenix Suns have a star.
00:46:16
And Devin Booker, I mean, legit, legit, franchise carrying star and Devin Booker.
00:46:24
Two.
00:46:25
There were Is there a detriment? Is backcourt depth.
00:46:30
I think they ran rookie Rubio, Jevon Carter and Devin Booker.
00:46:36
And you're like anybody that knows basketball was knows.
00:46:39
That's a **** travesty, because while Ricky Rubio can pass his ass off and he is a above average defender when the ball gets into that to your offensive half court, Devin Booker is basically the point guard, the basically the playmaker.
00:46:57
If they had a guy like a Chris Paul or a Fred Vanvleet more, more like a Fred VanVleet and Devin Booker that could catapult themselves to to being fourth in the West on The reason being is is you can let Booker can't play make for a while vanvleet playmate for a little while, and what friendly is with rain shortcomings.
00:47:27
They have a glut and over ridge of they have a absurd amount of youth.
00:47:35
Lucia three point shooting on the wing and And that could cover up for some of event.
00:47:43
We distort comings.
00:47:44
And I said that just to say just to you to back up the point that the Knicks are not the only ones that are thinking along these lines off what a Chris Paul can do for your organization.
00:47:56
Wow.
00:47:58
All right, so I'm stepping back from being a Knick fan for a second, right? If I'm if I'm a fan of the sun's pretty much the next East, I mean west, right? They finally got got a plan.
00:48:16
Okay, so what, we're what would it take for me? Thio get Chris. Paul.
00:48:27
So I have to You have to trade Kluber.
00:48:31
And then if you treat Kelly, you break Kelly Uber is a legit wing defender.
00:48:37
Yeah, he's on a cheap contract.
00:48:40
2015 mil, which just as a final.
00:48:45
I love the tree that was proposed.
00:48:48
Where it's a three way trade.
00:48:50
We, um Oklahoma City ends up with with rookie Rubio.
00:48:55
We end up with kill you your head, then Phoenix end up with Chris.
00:49:04
Paul, right? That's a beautiful trade for us.
00:49:09
It's a nice trade for pretty much all the teams.
00:49:12
If Oklahoma wake up in that? I think so.
00:49:20
I remember us gaining the 10th pick, okay? And Kelly, you Bray, I think, give up 27 38.
00:49:34
And then next year's Dallas pick, uh, Julius Randle to make money match.
00:49:42
And there's some other, like loose contracts in that, too, because, like making up the balance for um, Chris, Paul's contract is the big winner.
00:49:54
So so So it's not so we don't we don't just take on uber A We take on another deadweight contract from Oklahoma City or Phoenix in order to have the money match in Phoenix for Chris Paul.
00:50:08
Yeah, okay, I think that's that's probably too much for us to give up.
00:50:12
I was I was with everything until you said Dallas is pick and and losing Wythe because because we could just do a deal with Phoenix Weaken do Reggie Bullock at Wayne Ellington to Phoenix for Kelly you bray and a number 10 pick.
00:50:31
And you say, Why would they do that right? Well, that they would do that because that would clear cap space for them to sign are to to sign Fred Vanvleet what I'm saying, and then you could take genius right now, I think about that.
00:50:44
So we get the 10 picking you bray, right? And then we could take Julius Randle and trade them to the Utah Jazz for Mike Conley and the number 21 pick.
00:50:53
So then we would take.
00:50:55
We would have the eight pick the 10 pick the 21 pick and the 27 pick.
00:51:01
And for those that would say why what we do with all those draft picks? To me, that's the most absurd argument ever.
00:51:10
It's like, What do we do with all this money? What do we do with all these assets you could do with or two things you could draft Devin Vessel people have definite Veselin eight on Ben, maybe killing haze or some order you could do that with.
00:51:23
And you get two of the guys that you like and then that 21 27 you can trade.
00:51:28
Those picks are ready to teams that just want to trade into the back side of the lottery.
00:51:32
You could be the trade for feature first or for money.
00:51:37
You know, I'm saying which is you know, I think you for the 21 pick a team would pay you like $4 million.
00:51:44
So that's $4 million you can use for your salary cap.
00:51:50
Eso to me.
00:51:51
To me, I think I think they think it's some type of weird trade exception or something.
00:51:54
Whatever it ISS, whatever it ISS.
00:51:56
But but But it gives you flexibility to do a lot of things.
00:52:01
So it gives you if you miss out on Chris Paul and you miss out on On, um, Fred Vanvleet, you could draft Killian Hayes and Evan vessel to go with your wings so your wings would be R. J.
00:52:15
Kelly.
00:52:16
You bray Kevin Knox and Devin Vessel.
00:52:20
Right? Your point guard.
00:52:22
Your point Guards will be frank, do SJ and kill me and hangs or tyrants Halliburton, whichever one you prefer.
00:52:30
And then you can sign a veteran.
00:52:32
Uh, you get a In this scenario, um, I'm not for sure.
00:52:40
I guess it depends on the amount of money that he's asking for.
00:52:45
But the veteran you could go on and look to sign a veteran with that money that you saved and go on to sign a Goran drag egx, you know, and hope he stays healthy and then that way.
00:52:55
That gives you three or four point guards to give you three or four women players on DNA.
00:53:00
None of them.
00:53:01
None of them hurt the development of your young draft picks.
00:53:05
You could bring Halliburton or HES whichever one you prefer.
00:53:09
You can bring them along slow behind the veteran point guard you can have.
00:53:13
Are they barracks still getting his bag? You could still develop knocks in competition with you, Bray and Devin Vessel.
00:53:23
And all you have to do now is just find ah, veteran Big like a callow Quinn or Taj Gibson to come and back up.
00:53:31
Mitch, there's Can Tom Thibodeau get something like that to the playoffs. I say yes.
00:53:38
Um, and the reason why I say yes is because, um on the only thing that that stopped us from catching the Washington Wizards and the Orlando Magic in the Charlotte Hornets was Fizdale got us off to a terrible start.
00:53:53
If Fizdale didn't get us off toe, if my mother had been a coach from Day one, we may have been in the hunt for the eighth playoff spot, even though I hate Mike Moore is a coach, but I think he would have done enough to get us to the playoffs.
00:54:06
Interested? Mika? I don't think anything was like unless Jesus himself came down and like, blessed this.
00:54:18
We're gonna make the playoffs.
00:54:21
What way? Could give you my jersey and what you're saying way.
00:54:30
I'm a doctor about that.
00:54:33
Yeah, Z e I don't know.
00:54:39
To me, this is so funny, because next season I want a tank.
00:54:45
Like what? Next season is sad, but okay.
00:54:50
Needs to get better.
00:54:52
So it's kind of like you gotta sacrifice this season, you know, like you really need thio toe win this season, right? You would.
00:55:06
You would you would you Would you take that eight and 10 pick in that scenario that I mentioned and trade up for Lamela Ball Intend for the number one pick in the draft law mellow.
00:55:21
Okay.
00:55:22
And this is my take on that is similar to what I think the the front office is thinking.
00:55:33
E think there's enough.
00:55:36
There's at least two or three Lamela's balls in next year's draft, right? Yeah.
00:55:44
So, Lemelle Oh, next year.
00:55:47
Because my thing with Melo is like his energy level, right? I don't like his energy.
00:55:54
I do think he's good.
00:55:56
I think he could be great.
00:55:59
Um, e think he his game needs some fine tuning, but, um and like I said, just like I said about everyone else, he better come in with some with a better jump shot by draft.
00:56:16
Because if he comes in this combine, which is gonna be pretty soon, right? And he has a brand new jump shot and he's showing that he could get it off quick.
00:56:26
I'll work for him like I'll trade.
00:56:31
I'll pick next year together because that that could set up the next 10 years.
00:56:37
That is just like Dallas.
00:56:39
Once, you know, you have a guy that could be the guy.
00:56:43
You just go get them and you deal with everything else afterwards.
00:56:47
Um, what about your backcourt, though? What about s So you're not concerned that, um, Montmelo from day one is not gonna play behind the veteran point guard and who doesn't bring three point shooting? So now you have him and r j.
00:57:04
You got to remember what with them with the draft process for me.
00:57:12
If Lemelle oh doesn't come in with a reborn jump shot because he's gonna have a year off.
00:57:19
He stopped playing since February, right? So in my time march, that's a year.
00:57:26
You better have a red.
00:57:27
I'm shot like that means he's serious.
00:57:31
You know what I'm saying? Like, you can't I'm not trying toe invest that much draft picks and capital into a guy that's not serious into it.
00:57:40
Like, you gotta be serious.
00:57:42
That's the only reason why I say I don't mind doing it if he is dedicated because he's gonna have a year off to get ready.
00:57:50
Eso I don't care about the backup stuff because Lonzo didn't get a backup, you know, like he was a starter from day one.
00:57:58
I think that again to Frank is a good enough backup toe where I think Frank could do an admirable job.
00:58:09
So you're talking about again to I talked about trading up to get Golden State's number two pick.
00:58:17
Right.
00:58:18
Um, Golden State, you may be ableto sign and trade with, um, and give them a bunch of wings.
00:58:26
Which is what their theory is that they need, like, their theory is, um What did they say? They believe the Dow and hot Harrison Barnes with the wings that help.
00:58:38
And then and even though even the point guard, he was still a 671 defender, you know, so even a control point guard on offense.
00:58:49
If you could add, you could do a signing trade.
00:58:52
You could do, um, more heartless.
00:58:56
You could do.
00:58:57
Um, What's the guy Reggie Bullock You could do, mom.
00:59:03
Heck, you could give them Bobby Portis like get Bob reports on a decent contract or even Taj Gibson.
00:59:11
Taj Gibson would be a great audition for that team because they need guys to go after Anthony Davis.
00:59:18
They thinking about championships, Looking out, Anthony Davis was dominant You're gonna need.
00:59:24
And it's kind of sad to say, I think Mitch can't handle Anthony Davis, and that might be the reason why they would want Mitchell Robinson, right? You know, so Mitchell Robinson would give them a chance, but he won't put them over the top.
00:59:41
So, you know, I'll tell you what the things that the things that in a weird bizarro world scenario ah, few of the things that the New York's have, um, are deep and Golden State does not have and then needed to get to back to that level of that championship level.
01:00:02
Like e think.
01:00:04
In order for us to get the number two pick, Golden State can care less about the number eight pick.
01:00:09
Right, Because in theory, the number eight pick is a gamble, right? And the thing that that championship contenders don't want to do with their championship window is gamble, right? I think Golden State is gonna say, Hey, if you want the number two pick, you're gonna have to give us a frightening Latina so that we can have a backcourt wing defender, uh, Swiss Army knife, somebody that's that's really cheap on the books.
01:00:37
But somebody that does a lot of stuff defensively, right? Mental Robinson Thio show up their center position because right now they're playing um um marquees Chris who, while he's getting better as a Golden State warrior, he does not present the upside off the shot blocking Premier you supreme.
01:01:01
You know of Mitchell Robinson, right? And plus, he doesn't shoot that well, Mr Robinson is basically shooting 75% from the floor.
01:01:10
And while you say he can't keep that up, how can It's not Keep that up with the floor space where you have? Ah, a Clay Thompson.
01:01:20
Uh, Steph Curry.
01:01:23
Um, cow Bowman and all those guys.
01:01:27
So now you have a dude that all you have to do is be this man to the basket.
01:01:30
Well, that's what we've been doing with the Knicks.
01:01:33
You know what I'm saying? And so they would also want is Portis.
01:01:39
Taj? Um, but look, um, Ellington, all those guys on day, and then what they'll do is flip us.
01:01:49
Um um the Canadian kid.
01:01:52
I keep forgetting his name.
01:01:54
Um, Williams.
01:01:56
Yeah.
01:01:57
What, Wiggins And basically what? That what that will do is for one year, they'll have about 35 mil on the books, and then next summer, they'll have a whole bunch of cap space to go after a Yanis.
01:02:10
And if you don't think Yanis would be interested in the Golden State Warriors are you have to point to us.
01:02:16
Hey, man, how did you enjoy the play offs the last three years? He didn't.
01:02:22
You know what I'm saying? Come here as it come here as the league MVP and we're two championships and you and you'll say, Well, how can you guarantee me two championships as a legal VP a dog.
01:02:35
We have a blueprint for Kevin Durant.
01:02:37
Come here as delusion VP, and we want him to chips with the same personnel you're looking at.
01:02:43
You know, I'm saying and people say, Well, I'm not the same type of player that that Kevin Durant is exactly.
01:02:51
So you might win three chips instead of two.
01:02:54
You know, I'm saying y'all might go on another run.
01:02:57
You know, your defensive player of the year.
01:02:59
Kevin Durant was not.
01:03:00
You know, I'm saying, throwing.
01:03:01
Durant averaged 30 points a game.
01:03:03
We won the league MVP, your average 29 was the defensive player of the year.
01:03:08
So you bring some and the whole the the the The biggest pitch to a Yannis is Hey, man, how would you like to play early? Two games a season without being double teamed without people running zones? And so he would say, How can you not double team, have double queen and not run his own? Hey, bro, you got the splash Brothers, You got the greatest shooting backcourt off all time together.
01:03:35
You can't sag off a Steph Curry to guard the unionist.
01:03:39
You can't sag off Klay Thompson and just to guard a unionist, You know what I mean? S so that would be That would be dependent.
01:03:48
I'm sorry to get get sidetracked about the honest thing, but I think the honest thing is more riel than people people realize.
01:03:55
And I did a video about, um the possibility of James Harden getting traded to Golden State.
01:04:01
You know what I'm saying? Like where the Golden State's trades for James Harden.
01:04:05
What is that? How does that impact us getting the number two pick? You know, do we have to then go to Houston for the number two pick or? Well, let me ask you this because I'm looking at Golden State Books right now.
01:04:20
They're gonna be on on the books for 148 million.
01:04:27
Yep.
01:04:32
Uh, I know.
01:04:34
And I were a big part of that.
01:04:36
Of course they got the They're gonna be ping out the wazoo.
01:04:42
Yep.
01:04:44
That's a That's a tough one.
01:04:45
Because I don't know if they if we trade with, um um, like I said, they need wings.
01:04:57
Good wings may have somebody else along with Andrew Wiggins.
01:05:03
So yeah, maybe marquees Chris, What is he getting paid two mil.
01:05:12
Yeah, we want.
01:05:13
Therefore I am No.
01:05:16
Well, would you be interested in taking dream line? Draymond and And Williams? I would I'll take both.
01:05:30
Mm, That is interesting.
01:05:33
And that frees up.
01:05:34
What about 55 mil off the books for them? Yeah, the 53.
01:05:41
51.
01:05:43
Okay, so but the thing is, dream on goes all the way until 2023.
01:05:51
So right, Draymond Drammen is He is depreciating, you know, Like it's not exactly a good asset going forward like you may have toe.
01:06:09
They're going to get worse if you trade.
01:06:11
What's his name? Randall to him, they're not going to get better, right? But they don't want Randall.
01:06:21
They didn't want Randall, though.
01:06:23
They don't want Mitch.
01:06:25
They would want mentioned Frank to start with, Right? Mentioned Frank to start with because they are.
01:06:31
They have holes in their roster that French and Mitch fell.
01:06:35
What they need, They need a They need a defensive backcourt backcourt defender off their bench, and they need a big man to start right away.
01:06:45
You know what I'm saying? And then and then plus unique cat filler.
01:06:49
So all the guys, the free agents we signed last year that air on those, um, team option contracts.
01:06:55
All of them have to go.
01:06:57
And that's about 53 mil.
01:06:59
So you so that I have tow all of them, have to go for Draymond and Williams and the number two pick.
01:07:05
And if we do that, we take Draymond contract on.
01:07:08
We can't give them the number eight pick.
01:07:10
We can't, you know, I'm saying because because it would be it would be too much because we were talking.
01:07:15
Now you're talking about a depreciating assets for the next three years and the number eight pick? No, no, they don't need to hang up the phone.
01:07:25
So they're talking about I'm looking at the Phoenix Suns.
01:07:33
They're trying to say they want to try to trade Kelly Uber Thio.
01:07:42
It's in the Warriors.
01:07:46
What? Wow, for well, to get the number two pick.
01:07:53
So imagine Lo Melo in in Phoenix.
01:07:59
Um, Kelly Uber is and the number 10 pick Thio the Warriors.
01:08:05
What is that? Because Kelly Oubre is a really good defensive player.
01:08:12
He could do some Iguodala type stuff right to me.
01:08:20
I think they'll have to give up Mikhail Bridges to Rumi e think of a Michael Bridges Kelly uber and what's his name? Ricky Rubio Down.
01:08:37
Oh, Ricky Rubio.
01:08:38
Okay, if they do those three, if I was going instead, I'll take it because that gives you a backup point guard the wing, right.
01:08:50
You still get a number 10 pick and you get rid of Andrew Wiggins.
01:08:55
Wow.
01:08:57
Wow, man, look a lot.
01:09:00
That's a lot.
01:09:02
That's a lot, man.
01:09:04
Um, yeah, that's the only thing is, does Phoenix make the playoffs with that team? Uh uh.
01:09:13
I don't know.
01:09:15
I don't I don't wanna If I'm the Phoenix Suns, I don't want to disturb the chemistry that I created when I went eight and knowing the bubble, you know, I'm saying, get you could get rid of Kelly.
01:09:25
You Bray because he didn't He didn't make the bubble because he was injured.
01:09:30
You know, I'm saying they went and, you know, without him.
01:09:32
So that's one reason why they're considering doing going eight.
01:09:36
And I mean, trading him and number 10 pick it because because they basically caught lightning in a bottle without the team played better.
01:09:44
Better without him.
01:09:45
Basically, you know, I'm saying, but then if you start tinkering with Bridges and Camp Johnson and their roles and the and I don't know.
01:09:56
I mean and I say that as one that don't want it to rock the apple cart now.
01:10:02
Maybe it does make the Phoenix Suns better, but But I'd rather go by what I saw Phoenix do as opposed projections on what they might do and again to.
01:10:13
That's just me speculating and adding toe What what the this report is saying.
01:10:19
But it's interesting.
01:10:22
It's interesting to talk about.
01:10:25
So let me ask, Let me ask this Then, Um, here's my question.
01:10:30
Who ends the next point guard of the future in your eyes, like you're like, Who do you Who do you see with being being the guy going forward? I think you'll be drafted next year.
01:10:46
Okay, E.
01:10:50
On And Frank don't step their game up this year to really, like, take hold of that spot.
01:10:58
And I think it's really more on Dennis Smith.
01:11:01
Um, right then, we're looking at the point guard of the future being drafted next year, right? Right.
01:11:12
Okay.
01:11:13
A clutch points.
01:11:15
They have an article here saying, um, Molina Trump, um tested positive for Kobe 19.
01:11:23
Yeah, yeah.
01:11:24
The President to e just wanted on Twitter a shout out to next Twitter, by the way, breaking news E check that just now.
01:11:34
When you when you were going into the Phoenix century, I was like, Why is my phone doesn't Okay, That's why I think Twitter is the goat.
01:11:45
By the way, I'm thinking about getting a next Twitter T shirt.
01:11:51
You know, saying next Twitter is like, though I compared it to quicksand, it's like not the quick saying itself, but the exercise of jumping into it just to fight your way out.
01:12:09
Like some days.
01:12:10
Some days you fight yourself out and you make it to the edge and you're probably yourself and other days you just get swallowed up only to come back the next day to try it again.
01:12:20
You know what I'm saying? So yeah.
01:12:25
Yeah.
01:12:27
Other clutch clutch points articles they have here Who do you think should be the coach of the pelicans? Oh, they're saying how the headline reads that car.
01:12:55
So since Doc Rivers left, um, bring it up, bring it up, Bring it up.
01:13:03
I had it. One second is going to next chief.
01:13:08
Alright.
01:13:09
So Tyronn Lue is in a bidding war between the Clippers and in New Orleans. Elegant.
01:13:19
Who? Zion.
01:13:20
The Knicks, LeBron or, um, should he go to the Clippers, where you have two guys that can win right now If I'm if I'm Ta Lou and now and I say this looking at his resume now, you know because because I think the obvious answer for for New Orleans is Mike D'Antoni, right? But if you Yes, because because Alvin Gentry runs basically the same style of play as as Mike D'Antoni except Mike D'Antoni runs it with just one player, as opposed to Alvin Gentry.
01:14:01
Running it with a unit is basically is to get the ball on the basket, run, get a shot up before seven seconds and then look toe.
01:14:11
And then Gentry looks to take one defender toe lock down the other team's best player, and everybody else just plays.
01:14:18
You know, some some kind of defense now, with callaloo Tom, who is a young guy just a little bit over than us.
01:14:25
He's already won an MBA championship, right? He's an ex NBA player, you know.
01:14:30
I'm saying he excelled at at the N B level and the college level right? Why not Go will not go to New Orleans and take a team and molded in his image and do like a Pat Riley style thing with like Pat Riley did with the New York Knicks.
01:14:50
Because Pat Riley with the Lakers, we're Showtime went up and down the floor, blah, blah, blah.
01:14:55
Just do what Dr Buss wanted him to do.
01:14:59
Pat Riley in New York is like, I'm gonna mold this team in my image and make these boys played like I've always wanted the team to play.
01:15:07
And that's what I think I Lucan do.
01:15:09
Um, in New Orleans, while he was in Cleveland, he had to coach a superstar.
01:15:14
You know what I'm saying? But in New Orleans, he could mola team in his image.
01:15:19
Um, but Tom glued to the Clippers.
01:15:23
He'll be right back to that same thing of coaching mega stars, the stress of managing egos and all that stuff.
01:15:32
You know, some people don't like that stuff, and I I think Ty Lue would prefer the joy of taking young guys and turning them into a championship team.
01:15:44
Yeah, I agree with you.
01:15:46
I really feel like Tyler should take the New Orleans.
01:15:49
Well, should take the New Orleans job like he was stressed out when coaching LeBron.
01:15:55
Remember that.
01:15:56
Like he had to take more.
01:15:58
Yeah, I remember that.
01:16:01
And trying Thio get that Clipper steam for that billionaire.
01:16:09
Um, owner who got great expectations.
01:16:14
Like people don't talk about it.
01:16:16
But Bomber failed a lot with Microsoft.
01:16:20
Yeah, and I really can't see its failure, but he laid the groundwork for their success.
01:16:30
He just wasn't.
01:16:31
He just wasn't there to reap all the benefit.
01:16:34
E would save them a lot of then.
01:16:37
Paul Allen saved them a lot through innovation.
01:16:40
Paul Allen left like early two thousands.
01:16:44
Medically, um, Paul Allen went on to on the Blazers.
01:16:52
Yeah, but yeah, he you and walk, right? And Beyonce, I think getting on Seahawks.
01:17:03
Yeah, I think so.
01:17:04
Yeah.
01:17:07
Um but so when When you talk about, like, psychological things, like when someone treads water? Pretty much because that's all Microsoft did.
01:17:17
It didn't rise.
01:17:18
It didn't go up, Go down.
01:17:19
He just treaded water.
01:17:21
He set it up, set up a lot of things that was successful after him.
01:17:24
But he wasn't the guy reap the success.
01:17:28
So when you think about he wasn't reaping success now in a second life or second career, he's got all this money that he set up toe that someone else is getting all the credit for that he didn't get.
01:17:42
He's not getting in credit at all.
01:17:45
He wants credit for this for four with a championship.
01:17:49
Look at all the money I spent.
01:17:50
Look at this team that I built the stadium that I'm gonna build.
01:17:56
Thank you.
01:17:57
All right, So Ty Lue, if he takes that job, he's gonna be on a ton of stress, man, like it's comparative that you win because they only have one more chance toe win.
01:18:07
Because both both Paul, George and Quiet could walk away.
01:18:13
Right? Right.
01:18:14
So he I agree with you.
01:18:17
I think he should goto New Orleans.
01:18:19
But still, the Clippers already toe win right now, I think, actually, and Tony and that team that he had like they could probably winning when he could probably win with the Clippers.
01:18:35
To be honest with you, I think he had in the key the key for D'Antoni.
01:18:42
Andi, I think he'd be good at it is unleashing Paul George.
01:18:47
Therefore, there's versions of Paul George that we've seen them.
01:18:52
He was top three player in the NBA, like at last, that last stretch in Indiana.
01:18:59
You're like this dude could be top five player in the NBA.
01:19:05
Um, it's a year, the year that, um and I hate keep harping on on this man because I hate it.
01:19:12
But do you wear the Indiana beat the Knicks in the playoffs? There was a version of Paul George where you were like, bruh.
01:19:22
This dude is legit, like, you know, top four playing in the n b A when there was a play.
01:19:30
And people forget how athletic Amman Shumpert is.
01:19:33
Or once the bread was a play that he made a month Shumpert look like, ah, 70 year old man.
01:19:42
And Shumpert was not, you know, and and above average athlete, Shumpert was an excellent athlete.
01:19:50
Excellent.
01:19:51
Before, before he had the leg injury.
01:19:54
Right? And then there was this.
01:19:57
There was a version of Paul George, um, in Oklahoma City.
01:20:02
Right.
01:20:03
Um, right before the playoffs type.
01:20:04
I think this might have been 20.
01:20:05
Any team? Yes.
01:20:07
Yeah, there.
01:20:09
Yeah.
01:20:10
Paul George looked like three, uh, people.
01:20:14
Yes, and he didn't start out even in M V P race.
01:20:19
He caught fire like post all star break and just, like, annihilated Dulaimi and made it and bully their way into the M V P race.
01:20:29
You know, the thing is, I don't understand.
01:20:32
Why can't he do that like this this past season? You should have done that like he should have brought it this year because this was the year that he should have been like, if everybody I'm going in, right, right.
01:20:47
Well, I I think I think that that's the thing, though.
01:20:51
Paul George is the epitome off the beta and not the Alfa like he's got all that, all that he's got all the talent of the Alfa right.
01:21:03
He's got all the talent of the physical ability of the Alfa, all the skills of the Alfa.
01:21:10
But is the beta personality like though he reminds me of Aqua Man in the D.
01:21:19
C.
01:21:20
Comics where he's got Justus much or more ability than that man or, you know, than that man, but he'll never be in the front of the photo is always gonna be Superman or Batman and with Aqua man on the periphery.
01:21:35
You know what I'm saying? You eat Aquaman to be successful, right? And Aquaman can beat the hell out of the villain.
01:21:42
But he will never be, You know, the flagship of D. C.
01:21:47
You know, I'm saying it's just it's just what it is with Paul.
01:21:50
George.
01:21:51
He's I'm trying to find a marvel.
01:21:54
Um, but I just can't think I just can't think of one man.
01:21:58
I don't know if if you know, because Paul George presents this thing where his talent and skills are enticing, right? But he just don't you know, here is not gonna be Alfa.
01:22:12
He's more like ant man, to be honest, like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, like skills.
01:22:18
He could do some stuff, but and his story line impact.
01:22:23
The major history line impacts the major storyline without man.
01:22:27
You know what I'm saying? You can't do anything to everybody else, Can't do anything right, but I can't take seriously either. That's the other thing.
01:22:36
I e get what you're saying, though, right and and so to To To D'Antoni's credit, though, D'Antoni took Can't just like that and James Harden and turned into ah stone cold regular season killer.
01:22:53
You know what I'm saying? Because James Harden is is not Excuse me? In my opinion, James Carter is not an Alfa, right? He is not the leader of a franchise.
01:23:02
If you put him next Thio community, I think he'll be in hog heaven.
01:23:09
The perfect role.
01:23:10
But when you forced him to be the Alfa, you get his second round exits.
01:23:15
You know, I'm saying it's like the things like the thing with Daimler, Daniel er is not an Alfa.
01:23:20
I don't care what people say.
01:23:21
He was not.
01:23:22
You know that guy? No, he's not that guy.
01:23:24
You know what I'm saying? Because if he waas uh, yeah. Okay.
01:23:29
Well, let me let me do let me do this word comparison. Right.
01:23:34
So Steph Curry, right is an Alfa with all the beta mentality.
01:23:41
It was all the beta like superhero powers, whatever.
01:23:45
Like he's He's an above average athlete.
01:23:48
He's averaged size.
01:23:51
You know what I'm saying? Like he doesn't present you like like Steph Curry.
01:23:55
It was not a 68 point guard with, you know, super high jumping ability and all that stuff.
01:24:00
He's just a 63 point guard with with good handles.
01:24:03
Can it homely? Stay healthy? You know what I'm saying? But he has got a dog and he has got meant.
01:24:11
Listen, who wants toe? Who wants to win more than Steph Curry? Everybody will raising hand, but nobody will win Like Steph Curry.
01:24:21
Steph Curry looked Russell Westbrook in his eyes and took a 35 footer with four seconds left on the clock and hit it on Russell Westbrook's own court in the playoffs.
01:24:35
I'm gonna get this and get it.
01:24:38
Wait, everybody off and you dribble restaurant down to about 35 ft and lost the three point with four seconds left on the clock.
01:24:47
He was like they did the same thing too, Right? Right, right, right.
01:24:55
But they name also came tremendous in square garden.
01:24:58
Then came the Madison Square Garden, right, and look, frankly, with the dead in the eyes, he's like, Seems like getting my range on my Jack, this thing up and you licked it off the side of things and just go down and get like a fast break the other way.
01:25:10
If it wasn't for Melo, getting hot in that game against the boys is we don't do the blaze about 35.
01:25:17
If it wasn't for Melo.
01:25:18
If it weren't for the foot of garden, the root for Melo, you know, melatonin coming.
01:25:23
So this is one of those things where I give Steven a some some credit.
01:25:28
Um, I just always believe, Like, to me, I think the blazers are just one win away a really good wing, that ISS.
01:25:41
And I think they could be over the top.
01:25:45
And I think C J McCollum is there Avenue Thio getting a good wing.
01:25:50
Oh, wow.
01:25:52
So you wanna You wanna break up the backcourt? You gotta.
01:25:56
Why not? Why not? Why not? Trade name and get a whole to go to C. J.
01:26:03
I don't believe CJ's Alfa.
01:26:05
I mean, if you wanna go away with e don't believe in the whole Alfa Omega.
01:26:11
Whatever beta Alfa saying, whatever you wanna call e don't believe that.
01:26:17
Like you gotta have I believe Dame Kalitta team Or he could get you close and get you to the playoffs.
01:26:28
E believe that Wings is what wins in this league.
01:26:33
I just strongly I love the wing position too much.
01:26:37
M j two me proved that to me.
01:26:39
Scottie Pippen Kobe.
01:26:41
Ron, um, like, Okay, let's use Take, for example, put you honest with C J and, um, and game right now.
01:26:54
Do they were champion? Yeah.
01:26:57
Yeah.
01:26:58
Um, okay.
01:27:00
Dame and and Yonas, do they win Dame iguanas? Yep.
01:27:06
Okay.
01:27:07
Yeah.
01:27:11
Dame C J and read.
01:27:14
What's his name? Who went toe to Miami? Um, Jimmy Butler.
01:27:22
Butler? Yeah.
01:27:25
Are they in it right now? Yet? They win it.
01:27:29
Um, Who else? Pascal Sayako.
01:27:36
Mm hmm.
01:27:38
What? No, I think I think I think See, I come and I'm just gonna sound I'm gonna get roasted.
01:27:44
But I think I think see how come is a flash in the pan, I think See how come had, I think.
01:27:49
See how come and Fred VanVleet are flashes in the pan like they played in a great system.
01:27:55
But but left to their own devices.
01:27:57
I don't think there they are, who we think they are and see.
01:28:02
But what about the context I'm giving you? Is not y'all come having to do it himself.
01:28:07
He gotta do it with name.
01:28:09
And C j.
01:28:11
Right? Right.
01:28:13
I still don't think Yeah, I still don't think they I think they're probably in the same place with the outcome.
01:28:19
Okay, Um, I give you like, but I understand what I understand.
01:28:24
What you're you know, the context of what you're saying.
01:28:26
Like like what if they trade for a T.
01:28:29
J.
01:28:30
Warren? The dude from Indiana? The bucket, I think. I think.
01:28:34
Yeah, man.
01:28:35
What he brings offensively, what he brings offensively, man, is is consistent.
01:28:40
Somebody to match up with LeBron.
01:28:41
That's the number one thing.
01:28:44
Mm hmm.
01:28:48
And then you gotta have a defend.
01:28:51
Um uh, a D And that's the Warriors problem to like, you gotta have two people to go up against.
01:29:00
It was too, because clan and what's his name? Steph Curry.
01:29:05
They could match them with scoring, but when Ronnen and a B, um, starts giving you start switching off on him like a D.
01:29:16
Could guard Steph Curry on the perimeter in space.
01:29:20
And you just a little bit of space Now you can't tell them to guard Steph all game.
01:29:26
Now, that's not happening.
01:29:27
Unless you wanna If you got to do a switch off a pick and roll one possession, two possessions, whatever 80 could handle himself.
01:29:38
Right.
01:29:39
Um, sometimes LeBron can to even though he's getting older.
01:29:42
But LeBron, you know, I think he didn't.
01:29:46
You could do it, but at the same time, you're not gonna ask him all game to do it? No, that's where they need the ah wing That could score some to, you know, like they need something.
01:29:59
And then one of the things that they've been holding Golden State back is the fact that dreamers number has been going down, down, down.
01:30:08
It's like, Yeah, I know.
01:30:11
And part of that, too, is the cats that it's not fair to Draymond that a lot of the can't see playing with have been trashed.
01:30:19
You know what I'm saying? You know, you go from playing with Steph and Clay and Katie to calm Bowman marquees Chris and I was the other e O.
01:30:31
Yeah, yeah, but he but he was deferring.
01:30:34
Now deferring is one thing.
01:30:36
And but playing with other guys is, you know, dude, like nobody's double.
01:30:41
Okay.
01:30:42
When one kid, he got a double team and he kicked it out to dream on and dream on.
01:30:45
Don't hit like that's not a dream that's on e.
01:30:54
I just feel like he wasn't getting double teamed or, you know, nothing like that.
01:30:58
He was just not making shots, period.
01:31:03
Right.
01:31:04
All right, Eh.
01:31:06
So let me tell you something to make you I'm gonna say something to make you laugh, right? So I'm on Twitter as we speak, right? And I see that by somebody named Cold Crew.
01:31:17
And the first two I see by this person is who are you people? Why was I added to this threat? Eso It's funny because I just mentioned that the next the mixed Twitter is like the quicksand s o.
01:31:37
About two weeks ago, a Lakers fan stumbled into like our basketball argument.
01:31:42
Jumped in.
01:31:43
Oh, that comes with the greatest symbol, blah and 49 49.
01:31:48
Other people just immediately jump on him like he needs a half dead camel in the desert just picking at him.
01:31:57
And he Oh, got to a point where the dude was, like, you know, literally asking for help from Twitter.
01:32:06
Like, get me out of here with fans.
01:32:10
Can Knicks fan? These things are their passion.
01:32:17
Their passion for their team is insatiable and undeniable.
01:32:23
Let me and let me do Let me let me switch gears for just a second.
01:32:27
It's something I wanted want to ask you about.
01:32:29
And maybe some of the fans that are that are, um, have been gracious enough to hear us talk for a couple hours or so.
01:32:39
How do you feel about the state of New York sports right now? Your next suck your Jets suck your Giants suck the next suck, and we're at a place where is unfamiliar territory, so to speak, the only team that that, or aside from hockey, the only team that's really doing anything as the team that historically has done stuff.
01:33:07
And that's the Yankees.
01:33:09
So how do you feel about the, you know, the Giants and the Jets and the Mets and the Knicks, all sucking all at once.
01:33:17
So this this is an interesting topic, right? Um, start off with I'm just kind of hit the opposite.
01:33:24
And, like James Dolan owns two of these teams that were speaking off.
01:33:30
One is it's super successful.
01:33:32
Which is the Rangers.
01:33:34
Rangers, right? Onda Rangers just got a number one pick.
01:33:40
Yeah, the New York Knicks can't get a number one pick even if we buy it.
01:33:45
Like if James don't buy the number one pick right now in New York would be set, Right? Right.
01:33:53
Um, the idea that Okay.
01:33:59
The Giants coming down from the totem pole, right? Like the Giants? Yeah.
01:34:05
They would have been probably a little bit better off if Sequana never got hurt, Right? So, like, that's just a little bit of mishap and then because it was set up to at least have a decent season.
01:34:23
I mean, they quarterback situation is kinda sketchy, but at the same time, like, let's say, the Giants had seek one.
01:34:32
At least you could see you got a running back that could be every down and a bunch of yards and got the quarterback all right.
01:34:45
But the offensive line, which they have ignored for years, is always the downfall.
01:34:52
And whenever they have good play from the running back position and and quarterback, I mean, sorry, the running back position, period.
01:35:02
It helped the defense.
01:35:03
It helped the offense offensive line, right? I mean, you gotta fix the offensive line like, and they've tried, but I don't know.
01:35:16
To me, the Giants is probably the outlay out of everything.
01:35:20
The Jets, on the other hand, have stunk it up for years.
01:35:25
I just don't feel like Yeah, like, right now they need to fire their coach, right? Um, yeah, It sucks.
01:35:37
Um, when? When? When? That.
01:35:39
When we look at the Giants, though, the Giants have gone through to really unfortunate coaching hires and three guy from the Packers, the quarterback quote from the Green Bay Packers.
01:35:56
I forget his name, his faces, and I could see his face.
01:35:59
I just can't think of his name, then something.
01:36:01
And then the guy he had last year was just trash.
01:36:05
He was, like, trying to accommodate.
01:36:07
He was more like the Marblehead guy.
01:36:09
Like just trying to accommodate everybody.
01:36:11
Yes. Yes, of course. Yeah.
01:36:12
Yeah, sure.
01:36:13
You know what? I'm trying to be good people.
01:36:15
And, you know, we're trying to play the best of all that stuff, man.
01:36:18
People in football people care about nasty can Can I impose my world on the other team? Nobody cares about all that other stuff, right? Oh, Ben McAdoo. That's his name.
01:36:30
Did not to do the, um um that goes before and then the guy.
01:36:34
Last year was just terrible.
01:36:37
But this year, with covert going on, um, you know, with a lot of changes on the coaching staff and all that stuff Giants fans came, went overreact to a bad start.
01:36:49
Andi, I say when I when I say don't overreact and be patient.
01:36:54
I do understand that I'm talking to a New York fan base that is the complete opposite of what I just asked them to be.
01:37:00
Historically, you know, they're not gonna be patient.
01:37:04
You know what I'm saying? You're not gonna give people a chance.
01:37:07
They want winners right away.
01:37:09
You know what I'm saying? And and in terms of in terms of the giant stole in this situation has been put in with the young quarterback.
01:37:17
That's what you have to be, You know you can do is put your pieces in place and expect them to be something right away so well, but the only thing about that free Z like okay, like I'm willing toe.
01:37:30
That's why I said the Giants are probably the best position out of all of them.
01:37:35
Wait at the same time, like you gotta you gotta, like, cut him a slack because Sequana got hurt.
01:37:43
Now they do need to invest in that offensive lying toe where it it protects the quarterback and get the Bulls necessary for C one to get loose.
01:37:54
Right? You still got a draft like, Do you have? What is his name? Sam. Donald.
01:38:01
Who was the quarterback now for? For New York? I forgot Daniel Jones.
01:38:06
Daniel Jones.
01:38:07
You believe in Daniel Jones personally? Eso ItT's New York.
01:38:13
So they believe in him until he starts losing once he starts losing.
01:38:16
They don't believe in anybody.
01:38:17
They don't believe in losers.
01:38:19
You know, Daniel Jones was to talk of the town throughout the off season and as soon as they started all season over three.
01:38:24
Everybody is like Daniel Jones is a loser.
01:38:27
Who can we get to replace Daniel Jones? Is it Daniel Jones? Is it Daniel Jones fault or Jason Garrett fault? Bring him in as the office of coordinator when he used to coach the Dallas Cowboys? Um, Joe, Judge the wide receivers, the X Y receivers coach from New England? Is he, you know, holding the team accountable? Is his offense innovative? Do we have enough playmakers at receiver? Who's our number one guy, right? And so, during offseason Giants fans were like, um slight, Darius latent could be the number one guy, and I told them, Okay.
01:39:00
With numerous jams that Darius lately is not Randy Moss.
01:39:06
Darius Leighton is not Terrell Owens.
01:39:08
Darius Leighton is not Jerry Rice.
01:39:11
Darius Leighton is not a number one guy that you can go to to convert third downs.
01:39:16
He's a playmaker, but who is not? Ah, Julio Jones.
01:39:19
He's not a J. Green.
01:39:21
It was just a guy that that, um, you know, maybe you can do the second or third corner and maybe make a big play for you.
01:39:29
He's not Antonio Brown, but when I said that, they were like, We don't need those type guys, man.
01:39:33
All we need is such and such.
01:39:35
And now that their own three, they want to blame everybody except various Layton.
01:39:40
When when you go, it's like it's like it to me.
01:39:43
He's like Daniel Dobson, right? When Damian Johnson started for us, he averaged 13 points a game, right? Denny Dawson average 13 points a game against the third, the second or third best defender.
01:39:55
You know, I'm saying he had a career year, right? But when the stretch of games when we went to dot he could we couldn't find him.
01:40:05
He was not looking to shoot.
01:40:07
And when he did, he wouldn't convert.
01:40:09
Because Damion Dotson is Damion Dotson.
01:40:12
He's not Bradley, Bill.
01:40:14
You know what I mean.
01:40:15
So, yeah, man.
01:40:18
So, yes.
01:40:20
So, James pains and disappointed because a lot of the hopes that they put in certain guys didn't come into fruition.
01:40:26
And now that, um, steak on Barkley has a torn a c l.
01:40:30
They realize that their season there's not only going down the drain, that's going down the drain fast.
01:40:36
And that defense, that defense doesn't present a decent pass rush.
01:40:41
So now you're like quarterbacks can stand there all night and basically file their taxes and make plays.
01:40:48
So the jets are terrible, But let me put this boxing thing I want, because I'm gonna have to jump off in a second.
01:40:57
But I want to get to this boxing thing.
01:41:01
So So, So So I love boxing, right? I started watching boxing, and probably about okay, 1978 maybe 1979.
01:41:14
You know what I'm saying? My Pops used to sit me down in front of the TV, and I used to watch ABC Wide World sports right And so I used to watch all these cats that I know so many people box.
01:41:26
So what intrigued me that there were so many people doing it.
01:41:29
He tried to like Pop started, turned me on to this young cat named Marvin Hagler.
01:41:33
And when I watched him, he lost.
01:41:35
He lost the decision, and eventually over the years, he wound up being my favorite boxer.
01:41:39
Right? But But anyways, so I'm at work.
01:41:44
I'm taking car batteries in the back.
01:41:46
I'll tell this girl like, Hey, listen, don't store car batteries up here.
01:41:49
You know, blah, blah, blah, blah.
01:41:51
You know how you tell people stuff at work, and then you go back.
01:41:54
Whatever you said is completely the opposite of what you You know what I'm saying? So I'm eso I'm like, but I get an alert on my phone that Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury have rescheduled their fight for December 19.
01:42:13
And I'm shocked.
01:42:18
Yeah, why, in my opinion, why does Deontay Wilder wanna fight Tyson Fury? If you saw the the last fight, Tyson Fury kicked his ass and I'm not talking about Look, I'm not talking about you got a lucky shot.
01:42:37
You know what I'm saying or or anger.
01:42:40
And my fury plan was off.
01:42:43
You know, I came in and I want to box from the outside, and it just was a bad strategy.
01:42:49
Mhm.
01:42:50
The second fight Tyson Fury showed the world that he it can outclass deonte Wilder.
01:42:58
It's like a 30 year old man fresh out of prison fighting a 14 year old high schooler.
01:43:04
You know what I'm saying? You don't want that? You some things you just don't want to see Now Wilder is an excellent power guy, right? If he lands that right hand, it's bye bye for every and I know that.
01:43:20
Listen, I box right. I boxed for years.
01:43:23
I box through year 2.
01:43:25
5 3 years in the military I box, you know, post military boxing.
01:43:31
I was a youth, so I know what it's like to get hit.
01:43:34
You know what I'm saying? And I know what it's like to be outclassed because every time you step in the ring is not gonna be to your advantage.
01:43:41
It's survival of the fair.
01:43:42
Sometimes you have to step in there and you have thio.
01:43:44
You have to have a iron Will, Right, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder to me, I think I think it's Wilder will beat this guy in like, two rounds.
01:43:58
And to me, you remember the sound bite down goes Frazier.
01:44:01
Remember George Foreman and Joe Frazier? Down goes Frazier down.
01:44:04
I think that's what's gonna happen again.
01:44:07
And this Tyson Fury Deontay Wilder.
01:44:10
Yeah, yeah, they download Wilder download Wilder, and it's because it's because it's because Wilder is a 67 £220 uber athlete.
01:44:25
He's like the Randy Moss, um, off.
01:44:31
Think about the best athlete you ever saw in at a position.
01:44:36
He's like the well, almost.
01:44:37
You know what? He's the LeBron James.
01:44:39
He was the LeBron James of boxing because sometimes you see LeBron winsome and sometimes you see them lose something.
01:44:46
You know what I mean? Eso wilder to me, wander is Is that guy Tyson Fury, on the other hand, is 69 and awkward, right? Yeah, he's 69 about 2 60 of his body telling his body he looks like most of the ice cream like you know how hard it was coming and ring, and they're ripped up their shredded and then you see type fuel.
01:45:13
We take his robe off and you're like, Oh, you're spending six months training to coming here to look like that.
01:45:19
That's what you look like.
01:45:20
He wasn't training.
01:45:22
And so But the thing is, it's not about, you know, he defines all the myths like heavyweights is a black man's division.
01:45:33
Um, you have to be You have to be, Oh, that you have to be super powerful to be in the heavyweight division.
01:45:44
So Tyson theory has none of that.
01:45:46
What I'm saying, all he does is fight like what? I'm saying that he did do this.
01:45:52
Like, um, if you put me in a room with somebody, I'm gonna kick his ass.
01:45:57
I don't care who it is like he's got their fighters mentality like he comes from a long line of fighters, right? Wilder comes from, um, you know, a street dude that was trying to make money to feed his daughter, who's got some type of illness, and I don't know what it is, but but he did it just so that he could make money and he wind up being so good at it that he wanted making millions of dollars and I think his ego once you get to the time because you have to have an ego, man.
01:46:26
And I'm telling this Azan X pocket you have to have you have tow Have you go? Because given example, I've been writing with guys that I have more that had more experience to me.
01:46:39
More power than me.
01:46:40
More resource is than me.
01:46:42
All that stuff.
01:46:43
The only thing we have more than me was hard because I wanted to win more than them.
01:46:48
You know, I'm saying at the end of the day, I wanted to win more than them, right? And so they hit me with everything and my news buckle and my legs felt like gravity was trying to snatch me to the ground.
01:47:01
But I did not want to go down, right? And I understand somebody is, And I had limited talent.
01:47:08
But Tyson Fury has a whole world of talent, and now they are scheduled to fight December 19th.
01:47:13
And I don't know if I wanna watch it or not.
01:47:15
So Okay, I'm not a boxing fan, right? And I haven't watched boxing since.
01:47:24
Yeah, Lennox Lewis.
01:47:28
Wow.
01:47:29
Wow.
01:47:31
Everything about boxing is boring to me.
01:47:33
I like UFC way more.
01:47:35
I haven't watched much UFC either, Um, these past four years.
01:47:40
But why give me a reason toe watch the fight.
01:47:44
Give me a reason.
01:47:46
I know you just made a case that you know it's a mismatch, but give you a reason toe watch the fight even to get to So Soto.
01:47:58
So Okay, so part of the thing about boxing and UFC is that, um and UFC you have cats that actually fought that know the cage judge matches right in boxing and boxing. We have executives.
01:48:16
They get wined and dined by different camps and all that stuff, You know what I'm saying? And sometimes that leads to your guy unfairly winning boxing matches based off the judges scoring.
01:48:28
You know what I mean? Like for on one hand, UFC UFC, you know, has guys that understand that the game and they're going to score it fairly because they know how hard it is to execute.
01:48:40
You know, I'm saying a front kick into somebody's chest as opposed to, um, scoring jabs.
01:48:46
You know what I'm saying? Like, his dad was popping and s so I know what the flying knee kick is you know what I'm saying? I know what grappling is and all that stuff, even though I'm a fan of boxing Onley because I was a fan of boxing first and UFC came along afterwards.
01:49:03
I love the martial arts and all that stuff.
01:49:06
I just you know, the whole score, adding all that stuff into a format.
01:49:10
You know, what I'm saying to me is intriguing.
01:49:12
I just like boxing more because, like I said, I started watching boxing in 78 79 I started watching UFC and about 2000, 2001.
01:49:22
You know, I'm saying maybe 2005 maybe 2000 no, to about 2000, 2000.
01:49:28
And to me, right? If you if I had to rank it.
01:49:31
And I know this is gonna sound unfair in juvenile, but if I had to rank it, I would rank it boxing, professional wrestling You w w me and then UFC.
01:49:41
I just love him.
01:49:42
I just love some Ric Flair, man.
01:49:44
I love Hulk Hogan.
01:49:45
I love what I'm saying.
01:49:46
You know what I'm saying? And I know it's not really I know it's not really dog E, but but UFC UFC is very, very respectful.
01:50:00
And and I love the growth potential in it.
01:50:04
You know what I'm saying? Now, as far as the boxing match December 19? Yeah, I would say, um I'm not gonna pressure anybody to watch it.
01:50:15
What I would say is, um if you watch it, if you're a fan of boxing, um, tune in for the spectacle.
01:50:21
Hopefully, we'll get a good product.
01:50:23
But I'm not really sold on it.
01:50:27
Got you? Well, I mean, I understand.
01:50:31
I just feel like UFC is more organized from a belt standpoint, right? Uh, like there's so many divisions inside, um, and different belts and like to keep up with the belts alone.
01:50:49
You don't need like, a degree like it's so much and then it is disorganized.
01:50:56
I just felt like how in the world Pacquiao and what's this mean, Moms Floyd Mayweather didn't happen while they were in their primes.
01:51:06
Like while packing because of money is wining and dining.
01:51:12
That's what I'm saying.
01:51:14
That Z the fact that that that's why I like UFC.
01:51:18
Because if the people want a certain fight, the people are gonna get that fight, you know? I mean like that.
01:51:26
That's the way I view it.
01:51:27
But and again, I'm no expert at either one.
01:51:31
I just feel like you just can't You can't tell me that that the people didn't deserve that fight earlier, Like, 10 years earlier.
01:51:44
Like earlier.
01:51:46
Right? So I'm just making an adjustment over here, man, I'm coming back.
01:51:50
I'm sorry.
01:51:53
So yeah, e tryingto you know, im we could start wrapping it up now.
01:52:04
Okay.
01:52:05
But, you know, just to wrap up like boxing and stuff, I'm a check it out just toe to see if I don't know.
01:52:14
I just don't see the point in getting the boxing.
01:52:16
I love U S C because it just makes sense.
01:52:20
You can't get me with w W. Edo.
01:52:23
I'm sorry.
01:52:24
You, me with that one, right? Right.
01:52:27
One, three days, though.
01:52:30
One days.
01:52:31
I'm just gonna have to do a w w anything on on SportsCastr because it's so It's so deep that it's like but any anyway Anyway, they want e I know this.
01:52:46
I know this.
01:52:47
But the thing was, boxing is is black.
01:52:51
Sing is the sweet science, their rooms to it.
01:52:56
I can't I can't grab you.
01:52:58
I can't bite you.
01:52:59
I can't put you in any type of locks.
01:53:01
The only the only thing we get scored on is what we do with these.
01:53:05
That's it.
01:53:06
What we do with doing this is what we get scored on, right? And so it looks like, um, it's barbarian.
01:53:13
You know what I'm saying? I got literally take a club and trying to beat you into submission with it, basically, is what boxing is.
01:53:20
And boxing takes a sterile barbarian, a sterile barbarian approach to outscoring the next man.
01:53:30
Right.
01:53:31
While UFC you can put people in bars, um, and locks and chokes, You know what I'm saying? And all types of things that whatever your mind can create, you can do that.
01:53:43
You know what I'm saying is, you know, but it is.
01:53:48
But listen, man, I'm glad I'm glad you had me on, man.
01:53:51

00:00:08
okay, but yeah.
00:00:17
All right.
01:53:51
Um, I probably I have to go, because Because I got a lot of stuff.
