I can't tell if we're streaming or not missing.
We are. We are. We are live.
Sorry about that, fellas.
All right, So here's what's going on.
So So I got to meet this, So you know.
Okay, there we go.
All right, fellas.
So Marlon Humphrey, Ravens cornerback, All Pro first team, All Pro last season just got paid today.
He got a five year contract extension, and I love it.
Here's the actual details.
He signed a five year, $98.
75 million extension.
So what you what you gotta love about this man, is that it? It's not, You know, he didn't take because Jalen Ramsey.
I believe he got, like, 100 and five million or something like that.
So usually when these it's time for these guys to get paid, they become the highest paid at that position.
And luckily for us, Marlon Humphrey decided Thio take a little bit of a home discount there to stick with the Ravens.
You know, it was important to him to be able to stay on the Ravens.
That's something that he mentioned.
He said that he, you know, for him, it wasn't becoming the highest paid corner in the league for him.
It was about, um, just staying with the Baltimore Ravens.
So you love to hear that.
You love to see that also.
So Marlin is gonna be with us for about the next seven years as I understand it, because excuse me, because he still has two more years left on his rookie contract.
So the five year extension actually is going to add on to that.
So Marlin should be with us for over the next seven years.
And you love to see it.
Man, you love to see it.
I mean, Marlon Humphrey has been absolutely locked down.
We stick him on the number one receiver and he plays well all the time.
You know he's not perfect.
Let's not Let's not kid ourselves here.
He's not the perfect corner, but he is pretty **** close to being an absolute shutdown.
Locked down corners, you can possibly get definitely a top five corner in this league.
Um, and I'm glad that he is starting to get that recognition here.
I wanted to go over some of his stats, so I mean, he's been in the league since 2017.
He only started five games in his rookie season, But even then he made an impact, getting two interceptions and eso and he had 34 total tackles there.
So even in his rookie season, you I mean, you saw some mental lapses here and there It happens, you know? But Marlon Humphrey, man, he made an impact as soon as he came out.
Sorry, E God, I have, like a frog in my throat, bro.
Are you gonna keep clearing my throat? Man, that ****'s annoying as hell.
So then he came in.
In 2018 you started to see more of an expanding role for him.
He also got two interceptions then and then 2019.
Last season was really when he came into his own, he became the first team all Pro corner that we know and love.
He got three picks last season.
Um, he scored well.
He had two forced fumbles as well.
Three fumble recoveries, two touchdowns off of those fumble recoveries there and 53 total tackles.
Four tackles for lost one quarterback hit there so that Marlon Humphrey has just been.
I think he is the best player on the defense for the Ravens.
I was I've been saying it for a while.
I think Marlon Humphrey is the best player that we have on defense.
And, uh, you know, way saw how Marcus Peters played against the Chiefs.
It wasn't the best, but Marlon Humphrey, you just weren't seeing him.
You weren't seeing his name a lot.
And that's always a good thing with a cornerback.
You don't wanna have to see his name.
So and I wanted to talk about some plays that we saw throughout this season or just really throughout his career.
Some of the big plays that he's made, Um, and just to kind of give some appreciation for Marlon Humphrey man, because, like I said, he has been amazing.
He's the best defender that we have.
And without him, I mean, honestly, the defense wouldn't be as good.
So this is actually against the Chiefs.
Interesting here is that Humphrey is coming on a blitz.
Um, yeah, this is him right here.
And you can see how close he gets to actually get into Mahomes.
He comes in unblocked, You know, he gets he gets stopped there by the running back.
You know, he gets him just just enough to slow him down.
But he gets so close to sacking the homes. Dude.
And the most frustrating thing it was just It was It was It was back here, man.
Mahomes saw this just in time.
Marlon Humphrey was right here for the sack.
If it was any other quarterback, Humphrey would have gotten him.
But Mahomes is just on a whole Another level here.
But this is still a great play from Humphrey.
I mean, coming in unblocked **** near gets there.
But he just got that one split second that he gets taken off by the running back.
There was just enough to make him go around and he gets to Patrick Mahomes.
But somehow Mahomes, I can't believe it.
Dude, we have to watch this again.
Let me see Mahomes.
I wish I could posit when I want to.
My home sees it like, early on with anticipation, and he just gets amazing throw off.
But that was a great play from Humphrey, man.
It just didn't end up working out too well.
So this one was against the Texans.
Let's take a look at this.
So this is, I believe, his forced fumble that he caused.
He caused the forced fumble.
So let's see where he's out on the field.
It looks like he's right here.
If I'm not mistaken.
Yep, that should be him right there.
And then you see, he's covering the slot.
He sees that he dumps it off.
He comes in, punches the ball out.
And, of course, LJ Fort scoops it up there.
Great play from Marlon Humphrey, man.
Let's see the other angle here.
So he's gonna be here on the outside.
You can't really see him right now.
So here comes Humphrey, man, he's coming in hot.
He comes in, punches the ball out.
I don't know if you guys could see him punching the ball out.
You actually see him do it.
He winds up and there, Boom, just straight up, punches the ball out with the fruit punch.
And then, of course, LJ four comes in, recovers it, runs it all the way back to the house.
That was a great play from Marlon Humphrey men last week against the Texans? Uh huh.
Let's see it again and look at how he winds up, man and just boom punches it right out.
That's such a great play.
You know? Marlon Humphrey is a game changer, bro.
He is a game changer.
So now let's take a look at his interception on the season, which he got in the very first game against the Cleveland Browns here.
So this was I mean, obviously, it was a great play.
You're gonna see Kallias Campbell drop back into coverage.
Kinda kind of surprised Baker Mayfield a little bit here.
So let's let's see this play out.
You see Humphrey dropping back here? It looked to me like it was zone.
If I'm not mistaken, Um, yeah, maybe so.
Kallias Campbell is back there.
Baker Mayfield was didn't expect to see that 7 ft monster there in coverage.
Campbell gets a SWAT.
Should have gotta pick.
But luckily, Humphrey is there to pick up the pick and gets it like right before it hits the ground.
Just absolutely great awareness there to make a play.
Let's see the other other other other angle here Uh huh.
God, I don't know what's wrong with my voice today, so all right.
Things to look out for.
I believe this is coleus.
Campbell right here.
If I'm not mistaken, let's see him drop back.
Baker didn't even know it was coming.
Campbell gets there in time, and Humphrey is right there to pick up the pieces.
Awareness is on another level, man.
You gotta love that.
So that's from this season.
Let's let's take a look back at ah, back at week 16 of last season.
This is gonna be his interception, I believe.
Okay. Yes. So he's gonna be over here.
He sees that baker throws a deep, it's gonna be under thrown.
And Marlin is just in the correct spot, man, to get the pick.
It was like, you know, super easy Baker is just like, throwing a ****ing throw.
I'm just gonna totally force it.
Thio probably Odell or Jarvis Landry, one of the two.
And Humphrey is right there, man.
He's looking at at Baker the whole time.
He sees that he just throws it away because he has the pressure in his face over here, and then Humphrey is just in the perfect spot to get the pick there.
So great play there, but it was to be expected.
Let's see the other angle here.
So you're gonna see that Baker felt the pressure, and he's just like, I got to get rid of this ball, man.
I got to get rid of this ball.
He throws it up for grabs.
And, of course, it's under thrown.
Humphrey is right there in position, snatches it out of the air.
Great awareness from Humphrey is always so.
Oh, this is I love this play right here.
This was his, um this was a game changer for us when we were facing the Patriots.
Because at this point, you can see it was 17 to 13.
This is Humphrey right here.
Looks like he's covering the slot.
He picks up the forced fumble that I think was forced by peanuts.
If I'm not mistaken little screen past Edelman and then there's the fumble.
Humphrey picks it up, runs it all the way back.
Look at Tom Brady, man.
Pay attention to Tom Brady here.
Yeah, look at him.
He's like, I'm not even gonna try.
I'm gonna pretend like I'm going to try for, like, two steps and then Oh, never mind.
Never mind. I'm not catching him.
S Oh, that's pretty funny, man.
I never saw this angle from from this play.
Shout out to Humphrey for making the play, man, He he's just one of those guys that always looks to score when he has a chance to get the ball.
So you love to see that.
So I want to see this again.
Little screen pass to Julian Edelman.
Fumble force by peanuts.
If I'm not mistaken here.
Humphrey with the awareness picks it up, scoops it all.
Take it all all the way back to the house, man.
It's just the types of plays that Humphrey can make.
So let's see what else we got here.
This 10 I like this one.
This one was just I feel like d K. Metcalf.
Man, this was D K.
Metcalf. Tricky season.
And this was really the nail in the coffin for this for the Seahawks team when we were playing them This was from what I remember was a little short pass to D. K and D.
Metcalf was just trying to change the ball to his other hand, and he dropped it.
So let's see a quick little screen.
He tried toe, you see? I don't know.
That was so weird.
He caught the ball, he tried to switch hands and he dropped it.
We got to remember it was raining in this game, so that might have been a factor.
But yeah, it's just so bizarre.
I believe this is Brandon Car. If I'm not mistaken.
He saw him coming and he just got ****ked.
He dropped the ball.
Humphrey makes a heads up. Plato.
Oh, you see, it was actually.
Is this Jude on? No, that's not Jude on.
Can't be Jude on I can't even tell.
Oh, it's Earl Thomas.
Okay, I'm over your thinking.
It's Matt Judah on.
So you see Humphrey, with the heads up, play again, snatches up the ball and just runs it all the way back for the score.
Put the nail in the coffin against the Seahawks.
Man, this is the type of stuff that Marlon Humphrey does.
He is a play maker.
I'm telling you, like the defense, we wouldn't be as good without Marlon Humphrey.
So I'm so happy that we gave him this contract extension, bro.
He is like the guy on defense.
He's the playmaker when you need a play made.
Marlon Humphrey is that guy, and he's also great in coverage.
Great awareness, you know.
So Oh, this one is.
I mean, this play alone should have gotten him paid straight up this play alone because let me give you a little bit of context for you guys that don't remember.
Or maybe some of you that haven't seen it.
They Marlon Humphrey tried this exact same punch out on juju earlier on in the game in the first quarter, and it didn't work.
You ended up breaking the tackle, and he ran it all the way in for a touchdown.
So Marlin said, You know what? I'm gonna try it again here.
I'm gonna try it again.
We need to make a play in overtime here, punches it out, actually works this time, and Marlon Humphrey himself is able to recover it.
So that was such a game changer in this game, bro.
Because it was 23 to 23 in overtime again.
The history that Humphrey tried this exact same thing earlier in the game, it didn't work, and he tried it again.
And that time it worked and he scooped it up.
He scooped up his own forced fumble.
This is just what Marlon Humphrey does.
He is a play maker game changer.
And it was the exact same play from earlier to crossing route for Juju and Humphrey.
Just this time, he, uh he forced it out straight up.
He forced it out there.
So let's see what else we got here.
We don't need to watch that one.
Well, they don't even have the coaches film on that one.
So, um, we'll check this one out.
This is a new interception on Jamis Winston.
I mean, it's not a surprise, but hey, let's check it out, man.
So let's see where he's at.
Let's try to spot him here.
I'm pretty sure he's on this side.
This might be him right here.
This might be back when he was wearing 29.
Jamous just totally threw it right to him.
Marlin was ready for it under thrown there, and he said, I'll take that.
I'll take that off your hands.
I'll snatch that right off.
So I mean, I think that I think you get the idea.
Marlon Humphrey is great, man.
Eso I'm so happy that we did sign him to this contract extension.
It's, um you know, like I said, he is the guy on defense right now.
He You know, a lot of people thought Marcus Peters did have a great season last year and a lot of people were saying that he's the better corner and all that.
But I think that if you're talking about long term for the Ravens, who was the guy? I mean, he's a homegrown talent.
We drafted him in the first round.
I remember when we drafted him, it was like who? I didn't know who he was.
I mean, this was back when I wasn't super into, like looking at college, film and all that.
So, to be fair, I wasn't too knowledgeable about Marlon Humphrey.
But I remember I heard his name and I'm like, Who is he? Who is this guy, and it was weird for me because I'm like, Do we really need a corner? So, you know, at the time we didn't really were we weren't really thinking about it.
We didn't expect Marlon Humphrey to be the pick.
It was a questionable one.
We didn't know what to expect.
And but he came out, man, and he looked great.
He's been playing amazing.
Like I said, he's become the guy on our defense.
So without him, man, this defense is not as good.
So I love that we decided to extend Marlon Humphrey, Bro.
It's it's absolutely great news.
I'm absolutely so happy about it right now, even though I'm not like jumping up and down.
But it's mostly because I'm kind of tired, Man, it's been a busy week.
I can't lie to you So but anyways, guys, I think that's gonna go ahead and do it, man, really not much else to say other than I mean, I'm elated.
I'm happy that we decided to extend Marlon Humphrey and it's an early contract here.
I think that next up next up probably has to be Ronnie Stanley.
I would imagine I think that e. D C.
Eric DeCosta, our general manager, has shown that he likes to get these contracts done early, nice and early. Get it, you know.
So I would imagine that that's what we're going to see.
Next is a Ronnie Stanley extension, man, because we got to keep our guys.
We got to keep our guys now.
There are some guys that do have a lot more to prove, such as guys like Mark Andrews and Orlando Brown, in my opinion, because let's be honest this year, they haven't had their best seasons.
They have not had their best seasons.
So if they want to get that paycheck, man, they got to show out that they gotta prove that they are worth it.
So, you know, we got to see how it works.
Obviously, we still have to worry about Lamar's contract, so that's coming in the future.
But I am just so happy that we were able to get this one done, and it's great news, man. It's great.
And I think US Ravens fans definitely need some good news after after Monday night's game.
So yeah, guys, I think I'm gonna go ahead and get out of here again, probably like a little 20 minute video here.
Not really much to say.
Just I wanted to talk about Marlon Humphries.
So much for watching, Man. I appreciate you guys.

Thank you for watching this edition of the n f podcast live.
And I'm gonna go ahead and get out of here, fellas.
And, uh, let's just focus on Sunday's game against Washington. Men.
Um, I'm calling it right now.
I think Humphrey is gonna get at least two interceptions just because he got paid big.
So anyway, thank you all so much for watching.
I'll see you in the next one
