what happens? Our ability to get the ball to the back out of the backfield.
You know, I think we have way.
Had one screen that didn't work kind of went away from it, you know, more like how out? Some kind of delays.
And defensively, What kind of, uh what kind of you know, progressions? Are we supposed to make you know anything? As far as that, perhaps I'm seem like we regressed a little bit.
Nobody really, you know, made any adjustment.
Yeah, Well, first of all, we need to throw the ball out of the back to back excellent last year, throw it in the cloud.
So that's something that we need to do.
I think we only had one and the running back.
What route? Miles system.
So we need to get better.
That defense I cannot Just way did make a god**** a E after the first half going into the second half.
But e think one of the things that we're doing is we're learning our personnel.
Suppose first time he's an excellent coordinator.
I believe in him.
I think you'll see tremendous improvement this week.
All right, let's back out to the bud.
light hotline. Charlie calling in from Lafayette.
Charlie, you're on with Coco y'all doing tonight? Uh, I wanted, you know.
Ah, lot of people have asked some of the questions that I was gonna ask, so I'm not gonna kind of reiterate those, but I do wanna talk about a very positive development for for you.
It leads to recruiting.
And I was looking at something after the second week of the season Devon White leading the NFL in passer Jamal Adams until he got hurt.
His leading spaces Tackles Russell Gauge topspin and receiving yards.
Fly top 10 and rushing yards.
Fixing Broken and Dante Gas and most ineffective return yards until borrow number two in situations.
That is a not only having the player NFL, but having them being so successful is that there's a great hurting pitch for you right now.
Lots to the development that you all do. It players.
And I just wanted to be crude.
How important that is when the government was pretty trail.
And on Saturday, the only game I'm worried about right now and everyone talking at the scene has to go the only one I'm worried about.
It one Saturday night of the standard bill.
You just have to win that game and then it's Missouri, and you know that cliche.
But I think people need to be patient and realized.
Wondered that and what's gonna be So I'm with you.
I realized I think you all will get straightened out.
And I think some of these players, like a Rick Gilbert and all these other players are gonna do some special things that season and leading into Met U.
Thank you, Charlie, for being so positive.
You you bring up a good point.
We have 54 players in the NFL right now.
That's more more than a whole football team.
You know, every Tuesday, I'll show film with guys that are doing well, and we're very proud of them.
You know, a lot of those guys were three store recruits.
There wasn't five star recruits, and they developed here at L S U and do it very well in NFL.
So we're proud of.
Yes, it helps recruiting.
Thank you, Charlie.
More of a comment than a question.
Let's now go to Ricky calling in from Birmingham.
Ricky, you got a question for Cocoa coach.
Do quick question.
How did center Shanahan right out in the Mississippi State game? And second, any thoughts moving? Don Trey clothesline the defense back.
Yeah, I thought she had an playing pretty good for his first game.
Made some mistakes, especially down on the goal line.
They ran bare Mike, and we let the mic right in the middle.
We should have changed the protection, but it's in a hurry up offense, so that was kind of all of us.
But I thought overall he played.
He did a good job.
Not a great job.
He needs to get better and finishing blocks and being more physical.
But I think it was a little differently.
I'm playing against SEC, then Harvard, for sure.
So I'm proud of Josh Cooke.
Wouldn't be be somebody we could move over.
Thio Defense indeed.
In need of emergency.
That could happen later on Journal season, but not right now.
All right, thank you, Ricky.
Once again for the call.
We've got callers lined up.
We'll get to those in just a moment, coach.
Real quickly, going back to Saturday.
We knew going into the game you're gonna be a little thin on the back end.
Defensively, they're extremely junior, unable to go some of the younger guys really having.
Yeah, it's Jacoby Stevens, obviously the senior making plays and forcing turnovers. J.
Ward, as we all know now, was playing a little bit hurt on Saturday.
But this week in practice, I mean, what is the challenge and how do you think those guys we're going to respond in Week two? Well, it's good to have Derek singing back in practice against everybody.
Confidence, for sure.
You know the guy who plays all over the field this week, though.
Jay Ward had I had a minor surgery done, he'd been out of practice for two weeks.
The first time we practiced was Thursday before the game, so we can't blame him.
We did all he could, but But I thought he lives.
Friction or interception he made was, was a big play.
He grew up in a hurry, got beaten some crossing rounds, made some mistakes, sorted Cordell flat, got beat on the seven route, want to touch down.
He was inside leverage.
He should have been outside leverage.
Those are all things that we could fix.
All right? We got much more coming tonight and again on each week's show, we will feature the Defensive Player of the week Brought to you by Cox Official Communications provider of L s U Athletics.
This week's honor goes toe Ali Gay, the junior from Edmonds, Washington at three tackles, two of those for loss and three passes batted down at the line.
We've got a couple of callers to get to Eugene and Mark will get to you.
On the other side of this break is we continue on the Does Your on show presented by Han**** Whitney Live from TJ Ribs on the L S u sports radio network support your L S U Tigers with Okay.
Once again, the editors you wanna show will be back in just a few moments.
Thanks for joining us.
Sorry about the delays and stuff like that and all the stuff like that.
We apologize once again.
Thanks for joining us.
Let's go ahead and go over some ESPN headlines for a few seconds.
I don't get that up on screen and we'll go to go to ESPN once again.
Um, tonight the game between the Lakers and the Heat will begin at eight PM That will be on ESPN.
So once again, you can, um, watched that game on ESPN.
Also, let's go over some.
Okay, Philadelphia Thio discuss, um, the coaching job for Doc Rivers.
So I think this is a very excellent thing.
If he does get this job, I think they're gonna hire him.
So I think Philly, it's, um in the running for him, just like New Orleans is, I'm pretty sure that's most likely going to be down the the pipeline.
So once again, this is from Adrian Wojnowski.
You can reach him at ESPN as ESPN dot com so we'll go over some quick headlines before we go back to the editor Geron show.
And then once again, at eight o'clock, we'll have the state's preview states versus the Detroit lines.
So let's go to some quick headlines before we get back.
Thio Um, okay, Las Vegas Raiders Um Garett Carr says, Hey, felt terrible about mass issues.
So that Z once again this is from Paul Gutierrez.
You could reach him at ESPN ist Paul Gutierrez.
You can reach him at ESPN dot com Talking about that issue.
Eso once again that z on the forefront right there.
So once again, um, we will go back to the editors are on show presented by the L S U Sports radio.
Not right here on stream yard and SportsCastr.
Thanks for joining us.
We'll be back about eight o'clock.
We'll give thanks. Preview.
So once again, let's go back there.
There it iss it's back onto the screen.

So once again, thanks for coming in.
So let's get this back on Baton Rouge or toll free from anywhere.
1 803 15 82 55 or tweet a question at l s U radio.
This is the end.
Oh, Geron Show presented by Han**** Whitney on the L S U sports radio network.
Tigers Air Just about three days away from taking on Bandy in Music City.
Saturday night at 6.
30 televised on the SCC network and right here on L s u Sports radio will get things started for you at 4.
30 l s u Game day as Brandon Taylor, Marlin Fe Bright and Hunt Palmer get the day started.
Then we'll come to you from Vanderbilt Stadium myself along with Gordy Rush and Greg Bowser filling in for Doug Morrow on Saturday night with a kick off just after 6 30.
And don't forget, you can always sink your game by watching on TV listening to the action from the radio broadcast on your smart speaker.
Just download the L S u Sports Mobile app presented by B A S F coach.
We're gonna go out to the phone lines is just a moment.
But one of the things I listened intently to you on Monday during your press conference, you talked about the run to pass ratio in Week one.
A lot of first down throws on Saturday against the Bulldogs Onley 80 total rushing yards on 27 carries for your three running backs.
And you said, Hey, we want some or dedication.
You thought the guys ran the ball well, but you wanted more dedication to running the ball, especially on first down in hopes of getting to the second in three second and fours where you guys can really open up the playbook.
Yeah, I'm really surprised we didn't run the ball better.
We've run the ball.
Well, all camp, I think the in fact, I know the strength about football team.
Oh, camp has been our running backs.
We need to run the ball better.
But you know what they were giving us? Um, fronts that we're giving us, um, problems.
A lot of stunts and stuff like that.
We didn't pick it up very well.
I do believe you'll see a bunch of prove run game this week.
All right, let's head up north to Shreveport.
Eugene, Been waiting patiently.
Eugene, you're on with Coach O your June.
You there? Yeah.
Can you hear me? Yeah, we got you.
I just wanted to ask a couple of comments giving up over 600 yards.
Didn't gonna win many games in passing defense.
But the most telling statistic to May was the five for 17 on third down.
I think if we got better on that would probably win the game, then we most of those coats and win the next nine.
Well, I appreciate you saying that everything you said was true.
You know, third downs. Very critical.
But it was a big third down day, and, you know, it was a combination of scheme is a combination of protection is a combination of making decisions.
And that's the money down.
And you gotta you gotta make it.
And then on the other side, we gave up too many plays on third down.
Especially that 3rd and 20.
We give us a touchdown on third down.
So we've been working home week or a bunch improved third down defense.
All right, let's head to Boozer City.
Mark is on the line.
Mark your own with Coach O.
Hey, guys, how y'all doing? Look, look, my Brendan settled in in the second half.
I don't care what anybody says.
That guy came to play in the second half.
Ali gave that guy is incredible.
And then Jibril Cox, I love him.
I think he's gonna be go. Good.
Is this at halftime? When you guys go in and see the DBS, they're getting beat like that.
Y'all focus more on Miles Brennan in the office, and I know Coach.
Please, Coach, please gonna be I here? Yeah, even they're upset.
Did y'all focus that much on a GPS? Because I know those guys.
They're young, so they were getting bad.
What did y'all look at there? Yeah, well, we get it at halftime.
The offense meets in one room, the defense meets in the other.
And I go in between both rooms and obviously that all the adjustments on defense were with the DVDs and in the coverage.
And we kept on working and drawing it up.
Some someone. You, some.
We had practiced guys, we're just making mistakes and calls and alignments.
And we worked on communication.
Wanted to get better.
That on that, any yard run somebody that is called appeal technique, he's got to take them back out of the backfield.
He doesn't take it as 80 yards for a touchdown, so we're just making mistakes.
We tried to eliminate that on offense.
He was about the protection and the run game and Miles stepping up in the pocket, making better decisions.
All right, Thanks for the call, Coach.
Let's move to this week in practice.
I know you always have.
Monday we'll go out to the L S u fan question presented by Bud Light.
And this is Sean Yates writing in from Dayton, Tennessee.
What's the energy been like for the defense this week? In practice, Sister, I promise you that.
And the guys saw it on film.
And then there was sick and they made mistakes.
And we told them we should have put you in a better position of some of the things We made some adjustments and some of our man coverage.
We made some different calls.
We were gonna play Psalm or but we're gonna still attack on defense.
I like the tax scholar defense.
The pressure we put on a quarterback.
I think our players have had their best. We could practice.
We had a tremendous energy about ourselves today, their ego that everybody has that that hurt feeling in their gut.
There's only one way to get it out of some went back to the L S U fan questions presented by Bud Light.
We got Drew from Marksville.
Wanted to ask a coach a few years back.
It seems like we utilized Tory Carter in different ways out of the backfield successfully.
Why haven't we utilize the skills the past couple of years? He seems like a beast when he's on the field.
Hey, thanks for recognize with Tory George.
One of our team leaders store is probably one of the toughest guys on the football field.
I think in the NFL, I think Tori's gonna play full back.
There will be a great full back.
A lot of teams are looking for.
Of course, of course, we don't have the full back anymore.
He's a tight end.
We need to play him or he brings physicality offense.
He's a good athlete and he catch them all in space.
Coach before we get to the scouting report in the next segment on Fandy offensive line this week, you've touched on a little bit.
What was the focus? I know seven sacks given up, not all of them on them, but the most since 1996 against the Gators of Florida.
James Craig is the best in the business.
How's the week been so far for them? Hard work, I promise you that.
But you know, one of the things that we've got to do is finish.
We may be on a man and we just can't let him out because we gotta finish them.
And that's the mindset.
So I'll hold mindset with the offensive line.
This week has been finished.
Alright, fans will get the scouting report on the Vanderbilt Commodores through the Tigers will face Saturday night in Nashville.
We'll be right back after this on the Does Your on show presented by Han**** Whitney here on the L S u Sports radio network.
Okay, once again, the editors you wanna show will be back in just a few moments.
Let's go ahead and go have some more news headlines.
Apologize for everything.
Let's get this set up.
Okay, let's zoom.
What's this over the ESPN and we'll go over Thio next article and we'll put this up on the arm screen.
Yeah, this is up on your screen right here.
Miami Marlins outfielder stalling.
Um, Marla's suffered a fractured left pinkie, So that's what happened in that game against the eso that z eso they did.
Um, that's what happened.
So if your arm So this is from also Jeff Passing and Jesse Rogers talked about it.
So I was showing you that article right now.
So once again, this is from ESPN.
Go to ESPN dot com and also ESPN on the APP.
See what else we'll talk about before we get back.
So once again, Michael Thomas Michael Thomas um uh, returned to practice on a limited basis.
So Michael Thomas is, um, that's good news.
I think that's excellent news for Saints wide receiver.
So I want to see um, hopefully we'll see him this Sunday versus the Detroit lines.
So? So, once again, this is from ESPN.
Go to ESPN dot com and we'll go over some or news headlines before we will give you an update on some baseball scores.
Baseball scores going on.
Let's give you those updates right now.
Okay, Once again, Indians on top one up in bottom one.
Also, final scores today, 8153 and Padres, um, loose, uh, down 64 So that's in the top of the ninth.
So once again, we'll go back to the editors around show presented by the L s u Sports radio network.
We'll be back in just a few moments for sports.
Um, pretty young. Thanks.
Previous show Radio network Fighting Tigers head to Nashville on Saturday.
A battle with Vanderbilt 6.
30 is the kickoff.
Coach, We're gonna talk about the Commodores, but before we do always have a great crowd here at TJ Ribs.
But I know you've got a special group out here on this Wednesday night.
We have a special group, administrative assistance and sit back down according to come here every Wednesday night. Very loyal.
They like our team moms, I'm telling you, they are big part of our success here in L s U.
They were collis hours.
I can't thank them enough.
Sharon Tam, Bolivia, Cuba and Emily give up again.
Let's go, she Oh, coach, when we talk about the game Saturday, I know you have a ton of respect for the job.
Coach Derek Mason does it.
Vandy and I know that you've known him for some time, and he's always said that the Commodores may not have the best talent in the SEC year to year, but you'll know you've been in a battle.
They will muddy up the game.
They'll be physical at the point of a attack, and they'll make you earn every inch last year, a little bit of a down year in those regards.
But based on what we saw last Saturday in College Station, those characteristics seem to be back here in 2020.
Coach Basin is a great defensive coach.
I studied his stuff at Stanford.
These who played for me.
Uh, and coach here at LSU last year is coaching the defensive line.
The very well coached, they tough.
They played Texas A and M down to the last year.
He threw a pick going into school.
Very tough physical football team.
I think they're much improved.
Let's talk on offensive little bit.
They've got a new coordinator that many here in the state are familiar with.
Todd Fitch, in his first year after spending a couple of seasons with Skip, holds a lot of tech 35 year veteran in college coaching.
When you put on the film offensively from week one, what jumps out to you that's different than maybe we've seen before from Vandy.
Yeah, Well, you know, a lot of 12 personnel to tight ends.
A lot of process.
A lot of four wives.
We call them a pro spread.
Our defense has not seen too tight ends in a couple of years, so there's gonna be more pro formations.
There will be more gap.
The gap schemes, more runs, more play action passes along with the spread offense.
Last week, Ken Seals gets to start amazingly on Lee, the third true freshman to start an SEC season.
A quarterback since the eligibility rules were changed back in 1972 he was 20 of 29 passing 150 yards. Coach.
He did throw two picks, but what stood out to you in the defense of coaches when you put on the film? Yeah, he's got some great far freshman.
He stood in there and you make some good decisions thing that they do different with him.
But they moved him.
They spread out.
Play action pass.
He's a mobile quarterback, a lot of play action on the first down, a lot of sprints trying to get onto the edge.
Just a different offense.
His favorite target last week.
Amir Abdul Rahman five catches, 72 yards, one touchdown stands, 64 £217 miss.
But all all but one game last year had an injury in the opener against Georgia.
Describe the passing attack for Vandy with receivers, tight ends and even running backs.
Whatever they wanna do through the air play action pass.
They won't suck you in with the line mark.
Get the dig behind you, get the skinny close behind.
Get the spread out, get the shorties throws on the quarterback, and I imagine we're going to see a lot of the schemes that we saw last week.
There was a copycat league, things that worked against our defense last week.
Usually, we'll see the week after and hopefully we'll fix it.
Let's talk about the running game a little bit.
Fanny was down one of their three running backs last week.
Cheon Henry Brooks was sidelined due to illness, but clowning and Wakefield, along with Seals, their quarterback rushed for 100 to net yards, one of the keys to stopping the run and forcing this true freshman quarterback to win the game with his arm.
We're gonna win the last covers.
We gotta play gap defense.
I'll tackle, not come back.
Don't have any yours after contact.
Be aggressive on play action.
That being the right spots of defense fans, We got one more segment coming up tonight with Cho chose.
We continue the scouting report on Vanderbilt.
Up next, we're gonna talk about the Commodore defense, so stay right there will be back right after these words on the L s u Sports radio network.
I started as a service clerk at Rouses.
And now okay, once again, editors you wanna show will be back in just a few moments.
Just a reminder.
We will have the same preview show here on Stream yard.
Once again, we can't use O.
B s. We cannot get sound.
We wanna listen to the Sean Payton press conference, but once again, it's just, uh, impossible to do.
So we will be on stream dog for that.
So, once again, thanks for joining us.
We appreciate you coming in.
So that's just some unfortunate that we have toe do those things, but we have to do them.
So, um, let's go up some more news headlines.
So go ahead and go up some more news stuff.
We, um okay, I'll show this on the screen.
Okay, This is on the screen.
Okay? MLB, um, limiting number of fans for the N l s, um, world Siri's, uh, in all it in Texas.
So that's probably going to be, um, down the pipeline, so most likely it's not gonna happen.
So that's just, um probably not gonna I think that that's because of this cold, but 19 situation.
So, um, so, once again, this is from ESPN.
Go to ESPN dot com so we'll go back to the l s.
U uh, Editors are on show presented.
Parallel issues. Sports radio network.

This is the end Ojha Rancho presented by Han**** Whitney on the L S u Sports radio network back here in our final moments for this week when Cho chose the Tigers.
Get ready to head to Vanderbilt on Saturday with kick off at 6 30.
And coach, we've been moving so quickly tonight I literally turned off the Twitter machine, forgot about our fans out there on Twitter.
Got to go to them real quickly.
Let's go out, Thio.
I believe Harold Harold wants to know Coach Oh, why we didn't do much of a priest, That motion, like we did last season, to determine if defense was in man or zone.
It was a good idea.
We need to do that more.
We didn't do it enough. We did it a little bit.
That's something that Joe was very good at. You could read the protection.
Obviously, when you're getting empty, that would declare something that we have to do more.
All right, let's go to Jeff and Jeff.
Coaches asked this.
This is my fault.
He's asked his for three weeks.
He still was wondering what your favorite candy bar is.
That's a good one. A.
Anything that's in the pantry after 11 o'clock at night. And there you go.
All right, Jeff finally got it in Coach.
Let's talk defense for Bandy.
We mentioned new name for the offensive coordinator.
New name, but a familiar name.
Ted Roof, veteran coach.
So many years in the A.
C, including time as head coach for the Duke Blue Devils comes in, had one year in Boone, North Carolina, with Appalachian State.
Same question about the defense.
What's different about Vandy this year? First of all, the way to the defensive line is playing.
They're playing a four man front and not a 344 to 5.
Very multiple, Uh, all starts in the defensive line with Dale, and I don't know how to say his last name.
He had seven tackles, a couple sacks.
He's a tremendous player, is gonna be an NFL player.
And also Andre Minutes defensive.
And those two guys excellent football players. Absolutely.
It starts as you mentioned, Di Oh Dang Bo, the senior preseason second team all SEC lineman.
Let's talk about linebacker because you've got to start with the orgy brothers Anthony and Austin.
The two combined for 10 tackles last week against A and M.
They also had a fumble recovery.
What challenges do they present along with the rest of the back? Lawyers for Vanderbilt straight very well.
They come down here very well. They play the run very well.
They play action pass.
They could cover the backs out of the backfield.
They're very welcome.
Speaking of fumbles, Bandy, very opportunistic.
If you do not protect the football as every team should be.
Ball security critical every time out.
Certainly this weekend, when you guys talk about running the ball, catching the ball, making big plays, gotta protect him.
That's been emphasis all week.
They do a good job of stripping the ball to riff attempts.
They're plus one in the turnover category.
We gotta win it fairly.
Veteran group in the secondary When you look across the board for Vanderbilt, lot of Junior's a lot of seniors.
They held Kellen Montu a 61% completion rate, 17 of 28 189 yards and just one passing touchdown.
What has toe happen again? We touched on it Some toe have success in the passing game against this particular defense.
First of all, we gotta protect the quarterback second role.
We gotta get great weeks and Coastal fantastic, please, while guys open and put the best players in space and given the football and custom ball.
All right, let's go out.
We've got one last caller that just snuck in before the bell.
Let's go toe Alberto right here in Baton Rouge.
Alberto, you're on with Coco Yes, sir.
Hey, Coach O, What's up, Alberto? Hey, coach from Baton Rouge And I'm currently at L s u.
And I wanted to know how are you gonna boost the team's morale after this long? I know it's kind of hard coming off the winning 2020 national championship team and as a player I played sports all my life and I wanted to know How are you going to talk to the players and the coaches and to kind of convince the team that Hey, this is a new team We have Thio rely on Miles.
We have to rely on all the new players to help us.
Um, you know, possibly win a new championship? No.
First of all, I need to be patient with him and I can't compare them for last year's team.
This is a new team.
This is a new culture self and I believe in these guys.
I've got to show them that I believe in him.
I think the best way to do it is just go out, play one heck of a game on Saturday night.
That'll do it, Coach.
Finally, I wanted to ask you last week 25% Tiger Stadium this week.
We're told maybe virtually 0% at Vanderbilt Stadium.
It's on the road.
It's a must win game.
How key will your sidelines have to be after any successful play to create that buzz and energy in an otherwise quiet stadium? We're gonna have to be on.
We cannot let the surroundings affect us at all.
We have to have a lot of energy throughout the football game.
We have to create our own energy.
I believe these guys will.
All right, coach, What's always great to see is I said from the beginning, it's great to visit with you.
You're always very honest and up front, and we can't do anything but wish you the very best of luck.
Safe travels to Music City and let's talk about a Tiger win next Wednesday night.
Let's go, go tigers.
Alright, fans, that's gonna do it for our show tonight.
Thanks to coach for his time is always the staff here a T J ribs taking care of everybody, thanks to stand Catherine with production assistance here at the restaurant and to the straw, stirring the drink back for us that network studios Mr Jeff Palermo thank all of you for joining us on the air and online tonight and until this Saturday night from Music City.
This is Chris Blair saying So long, everybody and go tigers.
Okay, once again, Thanks for joining us.
For the for the editors around show once again.
Welcome back to the Saints preview show.
We are previewing this week's opponent, the Detroit Lions.
That game will be at 12 noon.
We will be on the air on SportsCastr with the O.
Hopefully, we're probably gonna have to truck in the sound with the so once again, pregame show will begin at 10.
30 will be on the air all the way toe noon.
So that's probably going to be, um, the plan.
So once again, we will begin our weekly press conferences with Sean Payton and also Coach Patricia from the Detroit lines.
So let's go ahead and play Coach Payton some, um, conference call from today, So we'll go ahead and do that One second.
I'll get that set up for you.
So we're just waiting for the single Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Show you guys haven't had played Detroit in a couple of seasons now.
How does he look now? Compared to them? My, I thought he played one of his better games last weekend.
I think you know they're dangerous team, especially when they're healthy and receiver and and having Holliday back in the lineup, I think is significant for them.
Um, you know, he's got all the arm talent that that you wanted that position.
Um, he considered the tight Windows.
I think he's played well, mhm Shaun of the line kind of team that but is not playing kind of equivalent with its record.
Um, just after some of the teams they face.
And that's really going here? Yeah, I think there's some degree.
I mean, look there ahead in the in the Green Bay game, and then green.
Green Bay obviously is a good team.
They come back and get the win.
Uh, they're ahead way ahead in the Chicago game and give up some big plays on.
Then they win a big game on the road.
So, um, you know, look, we're focused entirely on their defense offense in the kicking game, but we're just as importantly, focused on ourselves and correcting the stuff that that we need cleaned up China.
Those issues is that communication is it Focus.
Those what? Their common, the issues.
You're focusing on your own team.
Is there a common theme with any of them? Is a communication focusing it? We've got to play better.
We've got to be better in our in our assignment.
We've gotta be better with our technique.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sean went with Holiday in that lineup.
But he added, That offense is the first thing that comes to mind.
Is his downfield scoring threat.
You know, he's a big play target.
Uh, you had great production a year ago.
Matt's got a ton of confidence in him.
And if you just look at his numbers from a year ago, I think it's pretty evident.
Yeah, it's Sean to do, uh, is your staff noted some changes in how games are being officiated.
There's kind of a report out today about holding calls and way down and pass interference called defensively, being way up, something you all noticed so far, I don't think we've noticed it specifically.
I mean, we've certainly noticed calls that that are affecting our team adversely and specifically, you know, our d p I numbers are holding calls defensively on the perimeter.
Have to get cleaned up.
And then, uh, obviously you notice the calls that shouldn't have been made.
Yeah, Someone When a When Alvin's giving you guys, uh, such a a reliable car. Get on the outside.
And then and then he's getting all that yards after the catch.
Can you guys treat that is that's sort of, ah extension of the run game with the way he's playing right now.
I mean, look, whether you statistically put it down as a reception or just a, you know, a gain, you know, we're trying to move the football.
We're not keeping track of how Maney rushes in the first half for how Maney passes.
Obviously, we wanna have balance.
And that's something that, ah, that we look to have in each game the ability to run the football.
But, um, yeah, I mean, he's playing well for us, and he's an explosive player.
We need to continue to look at ways of getting him the ball in his hands.
Sean, what is Jimmy Collins added to their defense? Well, he brings length, he brings versatility, you know he's a guy that who can cover some of the oddball players that were difficult sometimes for linebackers.
He's, uh he's He's someone that can run, and, you know, he's got that range across the field to make a big play.
Um, he's also a pressure player, someone that can rush the passer.
So I'd say that's quite a bit Sean, be packers.
Use a lot of play action.
Um, some of with some pretty good success this week.
Um, how do you guys counter that defensively? And do you see that? Maybe on the rise more, uh, in the last couple season? Well, to answer your last question, I don't see it on the rise more.
It will continue to be on the rise if we continue to defend it the way we have.
Um, we've gotta have better eyes, you know, we've gotta have much better rise relative to, uh, what we're doing.
I mean, honestly, we look like a high school team defending the boot, like the other night.
That was kind of embarrassing.
So that's got to get corrected.
All right. Thanks, E.
Want to get Sean Payton? Um, so once again, we'll show How you doing How are you guys about that? Well, switching over.
Switch over the map. Patricia.
Switch over the map. Patricia.
I'll do that in a second.
Let me get that taking off the screen and we'll switch that over the mat.
Patricia's, um um so that one second things dynamic get the ball in his hands in space.
Whether it's the, you know, the wide routes to check downs, they'll empty him out.
Sending vertical just He's got tremendous speed.
Uh, sometimes I think he's deceptive on how fast he really is or how quick he is moving.
Hey, just he's such a smooth athlete that sometimes you may take a bad angle or approach angle.
You see, a lot of guys missed tackles on him.
From that standpoint, you really gotta do a great job of trying to close that space.
But just know how quick and dangerous he is to be able to cut across your face and kind of get back into that open, open field.
Just really great player form.
Thanks, man. Yep.
Justin, this question is gonna sound remarkably similar because I spent my morning watching all of, uh, tomorrow's, uh, pass routes and you mentioned the slow motion like that touchdown run and looked like he was going at half speed.
But we have his way through the defense.
Um, all the routes came out of the backfield.
Ah, lot of a lot of simple stuff.
Texas routes, flares, screens, Nothing to nontraditional outside the double pass from from Hill in Week one.
So I'm wondering.
It seems like the key there is, As you mentioned closing the space Well, you can't JAMA running back.
So what is the key to shutting down the space? Because I can't understand why teams let this guy get so open on on obvious running backgrounds when he's such a weapon.
Yeah, you know, really good, really good film study right there, too, I think if you take a look at the big play from the other day, the 52 yarder, I think what's amazing about that is that is a It's a downfield shots and over post route.
It's one of their concepts that they do off the play action, where they really try to push the ball downfield.
You could see the defense and the coverage just collapsing deep into the back end to try to take away, um, that you know, that big play downfield and really give credit to Drew Brees.
I mean, he did a great job of kind of going through his progression and then finding camera out, you know, to his backside, there in the flat.
Honestly, the defense was there.
We missed a tackle.
And then really, I think what he does so well, if he's got unbelievable vision and he just kinda was able to survey the field, he saw the deep coverage he knew the guys and pursuing.
We're gonna catch him, and it's almost like he just slowed up and waited for his linemen to get caught up with him.
And they kind of just then, you know, took him down the sideline.
I think just that his ability to handle space plays and be aware of what's around him, I think is what makes him so dynamic.
Um, certainly, like you said in the routes and things like that out of the backfield, they may look like they're not much, but he just you know, he gets a step.
And then once he gets a step, obviously with the accuracy, agrees, um, you know, he could just accelerate into open space very quickly, so it becomes really difficult.
You know, I've obviously played him a couple years ago and they actually put him out in empty and then sent him vertical on the nine round.
And we had one of our fast guys on him and he just ran by him.
And it was like, Three guys, Speed is it's really all.
And you can't fall asleep on it because hey has those little stutter steps and skip steps that make you kind of either overreact or fall asleep.
And then and then he's gone.
He's just that acceleration is very deceptive, and we won't know until we know with Michael Thomas.
But, you know, obviously the reports were promising heading into this weekend.
How does their offense change when when he's on the field? Yeah.
I mean, obviously a great player.
And I think you know a go to guy for Drew Brees and some of that he trusts, really, in a system where, um, you know Druken do a lot of different things that the line of scrimmage based on coverage and calls and communication and certainly with Emmanuel Sanders, another great player, but still kind of getting in doctrine into this offense.
I think, um, that, you know, Michael Thomas Just the communications they have and some of the signals and the routes based on leverage based on coverage that they're able to get Thio, um, really make them operate very efficiently.
He's got a tremendous release of one scrimmage.
He runs a great stuff out with the number two slot where he's just gonna come off and move the defender out of his way and just, you know, it's catching run plays after that.
That is just is just great.
You know, he's huge target for him to convert first downs and keep the change moving and just great player, you should get the insides map.
Hey, man, How you doing? Curious What? You told your team yesterday this morning, after everything that happened with the Titans and the covert outbreak, how do you address that with your players? Yeah.
I mean, just, you know, obviously, straight up.
I mean, I think you gotta you gotta talk about it, and you gotta have a great conversation and, uh, remind everybody about the procedures that we have in place and why they're important.
And, um, you know, just trying to do everything right and understanding that maybe we've talked about this before.
I think, um, you know, with with everybody here, but just, um you know, we're in our world of testing every day and being in the building and kind of trying to do everything right.
But, you know, Kobe is still really It's out there.
And, um, you know, we gotta be careful.
We gotta do our diligence to take care of each other and take care of our our families and our teammates, families and just be disciplined with it.
So certainly from a situation of, um, you know, the Titans and and and obviously the Viking situation.
Um, you know, my first thought just goes to, um you know, the people that I know in those buildings, you know, and have a great relationship with Mike Vrabel. Andrzej? Rob.
Um, you know, Monty, some of those guys down there that I just make sure they're okay.
And and their families air. Okay.
So, again, Cove, it is something that we're dealing with.
And, you know, we have to be careful all the all the time.
You know it, Zhar.
But it's just kind of what it is right now.
Kind of following on that you've been very diligent with your mask wearing on the sidelines, at least from what it seems like on television when they cut to you a lot.
What do you what goes through your head when you see Coach is not doing that, being avoiding the rules and and skirting them in so many ways when you know you talk so often about Kobe being very real? And he's been very adamant about that for months, though, Yeah, I appreciate that.
I appreciate you noticing that, too.
I, um I actually got a little bit of a modification of my mass have a filter in there, too, You know, I'm just trying to make sure that I'm keeping my family safe and keeping a player safe.
It's not easy, though.
I think there's a lot of situations we obviously working a communication game, and we're trying to talk and certainly different situations where it may be hard to hear.
And, um, you know, honestly for myself, I don't really hear that well, anyway, so I do a lot of lip reading and So it za real hard when you have mess on.
From that standpoint, I know the players do out in the field to There's a lot of times I've had players that, you know, they read my lips.
They necessarily don't get the call through the helmet and they might just be able to understand what we're what we're running based on the communication, that looking at somebody's face.
So, um, sometimes, you know, it becomes really difficult.
But from my standpoint, just I'm trying to do the best I can to do that.
It's not perfect.
I know from from all cord, but just we just gotta try toe, you know, keep doing what we can, but it's difficult.
It's hard, and we're I think all of us are. It's new for all of us.
We're just trying to stay consistent the best way we know how.
Thanks two more days than Kyle.
Morning, Matt, uh, kind of off topic here, but Kyle Casket yesterday, he's got a car like in the background of his zoom.
We asked him about it when he pulled the guitar out from his office, like behind his desk to replace it every once in a while just to decompress.
I was just curious.
When you're at the building and you need a 10 minute break from football, I thought you get many of them.
But I don't know if it's happy is the right word.
But what do you do to decompress? Yes.
How do you just take your mind off football for a few minutes with you? Yeah.
I don't have any guitars.
I don't have any here.
Not with me. So I don't really have that.
Yeah, the you accept that that's at the house s O that I haven't brought that.
You don't think anybody wants to hear me play that, You know? I mean, obviously, just I think the great thing about football is, you know, we're all grinding and working, but, uh, you know, we spent a lot of time with each other, the camaraderie, the you know, the brotherhood and the friendships that we have and, you know, get away from it.
You're usually talking about family or kids or just checking to see how everybody's doing.
Uh, for the most part, nothing really exciting from that standpoint.
Just decompressing and just taking your mind off for a second.
You can, Um I was just playing the part two.
That e don't know.
The first time you walked by his office and you heard him jamming.
What? You what you think? No, I think he's probably trying to hide that thing for me to make sure I don't see that at all.
Okay, I appreciate it, Kyle.
What? That you guys have put a lot of work into the special teams, and they've come up pretty big in various ways.
From Jack Box to obviously paraders winner.
You've had some great coverage from the teams.
Agony with the big return late last week, I was wondering if you could just offer us a, You know, an appraisal of the first three games from special teams.
And specifically, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on that big swing late in Arizona where Fox pinned him deep.
And then you got the defensive stop, and then the Agnew returns kind of set up the really big swing.
Great situational play there at the end of the game in the fourth quarter.
You know, those that's an outstanding set of Siris of place where I think you really highlight the complementary football of all three phases and why that's important.
We talk a lot about those situations, certainly where we have an opportunity.
Thio, you know, pin an offense deep and and how important that is on special teams to be able to do that.
It's really a now outstanding play there, also by Tony McRae.
I don't think you can leave him out of the conversation.
Uh, you know, those guys were hustling down in the gunner position and they actually got knocked down.
They got hit pretty hard, you know, great.
Kicked by Jack and pop back up.
And we're able to kind of pin him down in there.
So it's really just outstanding individual effort on that on that aspect of it.
Obviously, when the defense and then the offensive, complementary football with punt return to with Agnew, I thought that was thought it was great.
You know, we just we just need to do that consistently, you know? I mean, I think that's the biggest thing for us.
I think it's a great example of what we what we are trying to do, and obviously it's a competitive game, so that doesn't always happen.
But, you know, I think we understand how big of an opportunity is when we can do that.
And we will work all three phases together and and play complementary football.
How important that is to the outcome of the game s.
Oh, certainly, from that standpoint, you know, as we look at the first three games, you know, we're trying to just make sure that were consistent with, um, you know, with that style of play, you know, to make sure that we understand that, you know, the hunt returned sets of the offense.
Then obviously, you know, the punt team and how that helps the defense and the kickoff coverage and the kick return.
You know, certainly all of it going down to the specialists here, you know, to Mule and Jack.
And obviously, Prater a to the end of the game.
So those are things that we really are trying to always strive for greatness for in those areas.
But we're a long way off.
You know, there's a lot of areas that we've got to improve on, and we got to get better.
And, um, you know, there's been some highlights, but the overall picture for a I'll just more consistent.
And, you know, all of the four core phase is supposed to go on field goal block.
You know, those are the six paces of it that we really have.
Thio just continue to get better at.
Yes, I think they should.
I mean, look, Detroit, Look, I'm gonna be honest with you.
Look, look, they look they haven't been a relevant in years, so I look at it this way.
This game right here is gonna be a very good game.
Hopefully, Like I said, hopefully we have Michael Thomas back in this game.
So once again, let's go ahead and give you the ah brief information on on this team.
But Detroit lines, Let's go ahead.
Go through football database to give you that information.
I'm going to give you a, uh, information on them.
Okay, Detroit front lines.
We'll play the Saints.
Let's give you a history on these two end of teams.
Um, between the Saints and the Detroit lines, Saints that hold the 13 12 and one record.
The last time they these two teams play was three years ago.
That was back in 2000 and 17.
The Saints did win that game 50 to 38.
That was in, um, there was three years ago also.
So they've been It's been dating back to 1968.
So this is a very long Siri's right here.
Saints averaging, um, 582 Detroit averaging 512.
So that's a brief history on them.
Let's give you an up information on them.
We'll pull it up.
Okay, let's give you the breakdown.
Team breaking breakdown.
Okay? And scoring points that ranked 21st, also in passing yards to rank 16 with 246 yards.
Also, Detroit is ranked 22nd and running the football one of 5.
7 yards a game, also in a total yards, a game that rank 19 with 351.
So that's just be honest with you right now.
They're they're they're just kinda lack of days right now.
That's just let's give you the defense of breakdown.
Okay? The defense of breakdown there, Right? 26.
So they kind of, uh, second to last or third to last in point production.
Also the only thing there, Um in the top 20 it is in the passing defense.
They're ranked 13th and pass defense and also that ranked 30th against the run and also 28th in yards given up by Detroit.
So that's your end up.
Breakdown on them.
Okay, let's give you leaders Matthew Stafford with 811 yards.
Hopefully, they will use Adrian Peterson in a game this Sunday, I'm pretty sure, but also teaching.
Hawkinson, um, leads the team with 171 yards receiving.
Um, in a game they they their first downs.
They have 66 1st downs.
They get 18 on runs.
That's one thing they do.
They get 18 on runs and 40 on passes.
So that's the significance of this team right here.
So they'll get those first downs on past plays.
What? Matthew Stafford.
So, um and, um, third down efficiency.
They're 40% so they're pretty good there, 69 40 for about 40%.
Now they're one and two on fourth down conversions.
That's what they're coming in at one of two in this game.
Uh, the averaging 1000 55 yards.
They run the ball, Let's see, they run the ball 77 times, uh, for 317 yards.
So that's their total runs right there.
So 77 runs for 317 yards and then passing place.
Um, let's say they 12 a throw, let's say 106 times.
So they're they're gonna throw 106 times in games and passed 177 and run 77 times and games.
So that's the concern going into this game.
Right here is the passing game, but the passing game is kinda, um, in the top.
I could say the top 20 so they're in the top 20 right now in their passing situations.
Got the touchdowns.
They have seven touchdowns, two runs in five passes.
So the main, um, touchdowns Air coming from passes in past games.
So that's the um, that's their offense on touchdowns going into those games now, Um, the last three games they played, they did lose the Chicago 27 23.
They also lost the Green Bay week to 42 21.
And then last week they played against Arizona.
And then, um, won the game 26 23.
So right now, they're, um, one and one and two on the season.
So right now they're They're on a rotten start right now as well.
It's all all teams right there.
So, um, so that's some the epitome of a situation.
Let's give you their, um, split stats.
Let's give you the, um, let's give you their offense.
Let's go and give you their, um um, running game will give you the run game.
Okay, this is their way. Run.
Game numbers will give it.
They're gonna be playing away once again.
Um, they only have one touchdown.
They have 179 yards on 48 carry.
So that's in away games.
So I think to be honest with you, they won't run that ball 48 times on the road.
Now, against some, um, nah, individual games.
There were non individual game, just the non individual game.
Um, they run the ball 90 times, so 90 times on 27 carries, a 3.
3 average, and games like that so I'll be honest with you.
That's gonna be the concern going into this game versus the in the month of bomb September.
They're running, um, 77 times 300 17 yards and two scores.
So that Z, let's give you the first Let's give you go by quarter.
So the running game by quarter, they run 23 times, 425 yards.
They only got one score that's in the first quarter.
Now, in the second quarter, they go 19 of 63 so the average of 3.
3 average in the second quarter now in the third quarter, Detroit averages, um, 16 carries for 73 yards, 4.
5 average s so they don't have a touchdown.
That's in the third quarter Now.
In the fourth quarter, they only go down to about 19 carries for 56.
9 average, so I'll be honest with you.
That's close to three, but it's just some how they run their ball now.
In the fourth quarter, they go 11 carats for 19 yards and that Z running the football there now in field position, let's give you the field position breakdown.
Okay, the field position breakdown.
They are two for two on the goal line situation.
They have to scores.
So they go Golan and they'll get to scores.
Detroit now in the red zone There, 17 43.
So they're 17 43 and the red zones that they'll run 17 times for 43 yards in a red zone.
They'll get two scores in the red zone now on opponents 20 to 49 your line.
They go 20 carries for 108.
So that will go on those with field position situations.
Um, now the 22 50 Detroit will run 34 times for about 134 yards.
So that's just the synopsis of situations going into a now opponents.
Let's give you opponents, um, I run the ball, so let's give you that numbers.
Detroit gives up 22 carries, 404 yards. That's on defense.
So they give up too many.
Um, so that's in the first quarter.
Now they give up 24 carries for 118 yards.
That's against opponents and also in the third quarter that give up 25 carries for 203 yards.
That's just, um, in the in those games alone.
So I look at it this way.
Thes numbers right here.
Pretty good numbers that they put out.
Let's give you a passing, um, breakdown on them.
Let's give you a passing breakdown.
I'll give you a passing breakdown right now.
Okay, Let's see, uh um, in away games, they throw, um, 42 or 64 for 514 yards that they'll throw four touchdowns on the roads, and they're just absolutely good on the road passing a football.
So that's just, um their quarterback rating is 104.6.
That's in the quarterback rating.
So I look at it this way they're gonna at ST.
They're gonna have to be more consistent when it comes toe control of the pass versus, um, yeah, this Sunday Now, um, in quarters.
Let's go by quarters.
So they'll throw the ball in the first quarter 12 of 22 so they'll go for 1 43 don't have one score, and in the second quarter, they'll go for two scores.
That's 22 of 29 passes, so they will go to 77 in the second quarter when they throw the football.
So that's Matthew Stafford alone.
Now, Um, when they go to the third quarter, they throw 406 yards and one score.
So there the quarterback rating is That rating is, um, 81.4.
Now, in the fourth quarter, they'll throw 21 of 36 for 2 85 and then one score.
So that's one reason why we got to control control what they do in those, um, quarters.
Because if you let them score throw the ball by quarters, they will be just absolutely unstoppable when you look at it.
So that z a step right down on, uh, Detroit lines on passing game and running game.
Um, so let's give you their, um, their their stats on the on on their players.
Okay, let's give you some starts on the players.
Okay? Bathroom Stafford.
Right now I'm looking at his numbers.
He's, um he has five scores, but he, um, he has two interceptions.
His quarterback rating right now is at 93.7.
So this is a very good close to 100 rating.
It's not too bad, but he's getting his numbers up.
He's only at 62%.
Throwing the football now.
The main runners for the Lions running the football is Adrian Peterson.
86 yards a carry.
Now carry on Johnson.
He's kind of another guy that's gonna probably gonna be a NASA set to that team Now, this young man DeAndre swept.
I think he's going to get some carries.
Once some, they start giving him the ball.
I think he's gonna get those carriers.
He only has eight carries for 20 yards, but he's gonna get his numbers up sooner rather than later.
Now their their main.
Their main wide receiver is T. J Hawkinson.
This young, this individual, he could catch the ball.
Now he could flat out catch the ball.
He's averaging 13 yard for cats.
He has one score.
Um, he's been targeted 16 times, So he's That's going to be the main target.
Now the the next target is going to be Marvin Jones.
Marvin Jones has once against 11 catches for 1 29 these averaging 11 again.
So these are gonna be your concerns right here for, um, the saints defense in general.
And then, um um Danny Amendola.
This is not a guy.
He's averaging 15 yards.
That's just something right there.
He only has no touchdown.
But the truth of the matter is like this wide receiver corps.
I think they're good.
I mean, sure, they're one and two right now.
Don't make no mistake about that one and two, but the truth of the matter is luck.
You cannot, um you cannot, Um just some rush this team, Assad, because this team could borrow you in an instant.
Look what happened Monday.
Um, Sunday night when we played the Green Bay Packers.
We just absolutely got burnt by Aaron Rodgers.
We just absolutely got burned.
But this is gonna be a totally different situation going into this game this Sunday versus the Detroit Lions.
So I look at it this way.
It's gonna be a It's gonna be a shootout.
I think it will be.
It's always been a shootout between these two teams and stuff like that.
Let's give you the defense of numbers.
The defense about the sacks coming in, they only have three sacks of games, so that's on defense.
Um, their main sack person is on the sea.
They only got the sea.
This is Collins.
Um, I see Flowers.
And Jeffrey Oaken Door.
Or has won for the lines.
So yeah, they have three sacks, so they're not getting that many sacks on defense.
So that's just the idea of it.
If you can, um, not let them get a single sack in a game.
So that's just my opinion right there.
So let's go ahead and go over some film.
We just looked over the start, so we go with Look, look at the film's Let's go and look. The film studies.
Let's go look at last week's game.
Okay, we'll go over to, um, last week's game against the Arizona Cardinals will give you the breakdown in this game.
So let's go ahead and do that tackling, Okay, Once again, this is on 1st and 10 Stafford, back in the shotgun, went back in the backfield.
So let's see what happens here.
Um, safeties in the league Buddha Banker, off to a hot start.
First down at the 20 five for the Lions on throwing up.
So he throws a nice will pass right there.
So he gets off the first pass right there.
So it's a good reception right there for on that reception first.
Completing Danny Amendola.
That's the guy. That's the cat. That's the guy.
You're gonna have to be careful of.
That's another guy right there.
You have to be aware of at all times because he will burn you in in this city.
Will defender get significant yardage? So this is on.
This is on 1st and 10.
Once again, they're back in the I formation.
Um, the Arizona Cardinals will rush 123 or five players that rust, five on the side and then the other ones on.
Let's see what happens on display a first down.
So Adrian Peterson gets a nice hole hole right here.
So he's gonna get that whole in, Peterson spinning his way, and he's gonna get a first down.
So that's one thing about Adrian Peterson.
He will get those yards.
He's there leading rusher.
So that's one thing we have to contain his Adrian Peterson.
He played with us and he kind of, um, worked out a couple of times, but not not as much as, uh, up to par into Cardinal territory.
And Peterson leading rusher for the Lions with an impressive run.
So once again, this is on third and eight situation.
We're gonna look at it once again.
Um, cargoes are had their people on the line there looking.
Yeah, so let's see.
He's gonna drop back.
See? Let's see what happens here.
I'm gonna pause it.
He's gonna throw.
He's gonna take a three step, he's gonna take his drops once again.
So that was great protection right there.
So he gets it out to his receiver right there at that 10 yard line.
So it was a good reception, So I like what I saw right there.
But the truth of the matter is, you have to contain that in a nutshell.
You have to contain that because if you don't contain staffers, past is gonna be caught on a first down.
So this is on once again.
This is another 36 situation.
They have once again no score.
Um, so 36 or see what happens here s So that was a nice with defensive play by the Arizona Cardinals to contain him.
So if we could do that, I think that would help us right there.
In the instance, with down, he goes tackle that the 20 by Jordan Phillips.
Matt Prater is on, so they'll have.
They'll kick, they have to kick a field goal.
So that was on that drive right there.
So that drive, let's give Let's give you that Dr Play or give you, um, that drive.
That drive was a field goal on for a 37 yard field goal attempt, and the kick is perfect.
And the Lions So once again, the Cardinals on offense lions on defense.
So once again, third and one we owe calmer.
Withdrew a nice hole past Thio.
Eso Nice pass play, but Murray toe Fitz Fitzgerald.
So I think it was a good penetration right there.
So it brings on third and once a goodwill penetration going in on, they'll be down before first down.
The artist just trying to set up a pick for Fitzgerald.
But what a play by Roberts Thio Get there in time and stop and on fourth down.
And one here is so that's all.
1 4001 run right there by Arizona.
So I like what I saw that out of that penetration.
So I'm thinking why I said, Well, I mean, we could if we could contain if we can get some penetration when it comes toe those situations, I think will be good for it.
So drink and he'll get the first down.
Okay, This is a shotgun formation.
Martin will throw the past Mark would throw it thio.
Um, nice or reception right there.
So number 10 will get that reception.
Good reception against that defense.
So this third and nine.
So they will try to throw a pass, Another pass plate.
And this this is something right there.
Um, all players should not be doing is throwing an interception, so he just throw it right at there are their secondary.
So that's just something that breathes is gonna have to not do is throw an interception against that secondary, because that could be a costly, um, situation.
So I'm gonna I'm gonna run.
This is the third and seven situation.
So we're gonna run, Run this some film all the way through third and seven.
Once again. Shotgun formation.
Stafford throws nice will yet, but he hit and the door, but he dropped the ball, so it's a drop right there.
So it was a thrilling out situation for the lines.
So So that was a pot and it had to quanta ball and looks like no.
Looks like, um, Lions got on that football.
Let's say what happened by the Lions at about one and a half two yard line.
So that was a good special.
Teams play right there.
So, like I said, Deontay Harris is gonna have to be careful.
Not from with that ball.
Um, he did follow with one time.
So So the truth of the matter is, don't fumble the ball towards that.
That could be ****ed for field position.
When you look at it, all of the 31 1st down.
Don't be the air again with time again. And he has a target.
Nice will target right there. Number 17.
So good with target.
So that was against the secondary.
Um, off the Detroit line is caught by India's Abella.
They're playing man demanded every single time.
So there was playing man demand, so they would definitely playing man to man coverage.
So that's the concern.
That's the things we're gonna have toe adjust to with those man demand coverages.
Because if they're gonna play man to man or go 43 or 34 whatever, that's gonna probably be, um, what's gonna happen? But this is like, um, pass play.
So it's a nice little pass play of reception right there.
So I once again, this is on starting second goal.
So coward, Murray throwing against the secondary.
Nice all pass play.
That was a touchdown.
So it was a nice touch down right there when I pass play.
So Andy Isabella makes a catch for a touchdown.
Well, so once again, this is on 3rd and 12.
Detroit is on offense again.
We'll see what happens here.
Looks like he is, um, looks like everybody is going to be, uh, we'll show you.
Looks like everybody is blocking right now.
So far, they're blocking from Matthew Stafford.
So it looks like two of them came in there, so they had a pretty good penetration.
But the truth of the matter is, uh, they got to him.
They just got to him if they go a speed rush or whatever, and most likely going to get to him.
And that's how that's how you get to those quarterbacks.
If, um, you blanket there, guys, you go.
Like I said, Like I said, they're gonna have the offensive lineman's blocking.
That's the thing about it.
They're going to have the offensive lineman on the blocks.
But the truth of the matter is you got the kind of, uh, contain him.
You got to contain him in that pocket.
So that was a good containment right there.
What? I saw good containment.
That was on 3rd and 12.
Okay, this is on 1st and 10 lines of Russian one to three and four.
So they're running four, and they're gonna rust there.
And then once again, back into their fourth in the past play.
And that was another interception.
So that's a defensive play right there.
So that a defensive play by number 58 So that Z something we cannot do is not let these, um um players get an interception.
So that's just what we have to do is don't give up those interceptions, okay? This is the run.
Play right here.
So once again, Adrian Peterson got some yards on that play, but it was 32.
So they're back on the 32 situation and a pass play right there.
This is on this.
Once again, this is on an empty backfield.
No backs in the backfield.
So everybody spread out looking, expecting your past.
So it's going to be a past situation, so they'll throw it 83.
So a nice little reception, the 83.
But the thing is, we have to contain this guy right here is going to be the They're going to be the main.
That's gonna be the main catcher, right? There's the other guy's gonna be That's James.
That's another goddess.
Uh, Jesse James.
So this is once again this is on 1st and 10.
Shotgun formation back once again, Uh, Detroit running.
1234 And then the alignments are there.
Alignments on the on the line.
And then they got the So everybody's lined up. Let's see what happens here.
Draw a pass and you'll throw it into coverage.
So it was a nice little pass.
Play right there for a first down.
Nice Will pass play like what I saw out of that.
Okay, that's DeAndre Hawkins.
That some? It's a nice old cats right there.
That's so that's a good reception right there towards the sidelines.
And I saw a pass play right there.
So going to the 85 on that.
So he's gonna go, Let's see what he goes to goes, um, 29 on that run.
So it's a little nice little run play, so I get some done.
Some yards, I guess that's happened.
So I think that's a good, um, assessment.
Once again, this is on 2nd 1st goal, um, Detroit lining up in there defense.
So let's see what happens on this play.
Looks like, um, a column.
Er would try to go around the left side.
So he, um he couldn't go around that middle because they had it blocked in.
So he just goes around the upside for for scores.
So that was a pretty good, um, run. Play right there.
We're gonna We're gonna We're gonna scroll to another, apply when a roto another, we're gonna scroll to another apply.
We'll give you another play. Here.
This is on on 2nd and 10.
Let's give you a 2nd and 10 assessment.
And this is the past play right here.
So number 88 gets a reception.
So it's another, uh, person they're gonna throw to right? There is a number 88 for the Detroit Lions.
And I got throat, arm they're gonna throw to carry on.
They're gonna throw to these people.
They're gonna throw now.
They hit, they hit 32.
So 32 is making some catches.
So he's distributing the Balto.
Everybody in this game, he's distributing the ball toe.
Everyone, Not just his favorite receiver, Everyone.
Okay, this is on first intense situation Ball.
Um, 35 seconds remaining.
Um, Cardinals lead 13.
Let's see what happens on this past play.
If it was a pass play and it waas passed play and it was nice, will catch, um, so that Zagat God.
So I'm gonna be honest with you.
You gotta You gotta be, um, a little bit concerned about God because he could catch the ball.
That's one thing about it.
You could just you have to have some suspensive coverage on him.
You have to have a lot of coverage on him because he will catch that ball.
Make no mistake about it.
Once again, if you have a question of comment of concern if you have a question about our film studies, you can post your comments being a SportsCastr, Um, chat area.
And also, if you want to come in video chat with us, you want to come in and watch the film study, we will let you come in through the stream yard length that's in, SportsCastr.
So once again, if you want to come in stream, Yard Lake is in SportsCastr.
So that would be a go to.
So once again, this is, um um, 1st and 10 shotgun formation once again, Detroit back.
They will rust there.
Four down linemen, So they'll run there.
There are other guys on this side and so shotgun.
Um, so coward, Murray will try to throw a pass and he'll throw a nice little reception toe 10.
So it's a good we'll pass play, so I'm kind of now, this is on 3rd and 15 So this is a 30 15 situation going in.
I'll give you right down on this one, he will.
Looks like everybody's, um, covered.
We're looking at everybody.
Nice little catch right there against one defenders.
So a good catch right there.
So it was on 3rd and 15 so I'd say there was a good effort right there by Johnson.
Um, Stafford would throw a pass and he would throw it.
Looks like it's off balance.
Well, um nice little past, disruption like that.
I like what he did right there in that past disruption.
I really like it.
If we could dio something like that against the, um I guess them this Sunday will be fine.
But if you let them can throw the **** you and the Dola and carry on Johnson and Adrian Peterson and all that, and God day.
That is just gonna be a long day for the Senate's defense.
We have to be more consistent going into this game this week versus the lives because this team right here, it's gonna it's gonna go air raid all the way.
They're going air raid and these single place.
So once again, um, they will hand the ball off.
So that's a nice hole.
Let's see what happens s so it's a good, more penetration body.
Uh, Arizona Cardinals.
Um um, offense, um, to get that run a nice or run.
So it was a nice or run.
So this is on 1st and 10.
So they will, um, calmer.
Looks like you will go down so he will go down.
So on the defensive play right there by the Detroit Lions.
Okay, this is a, um, 2nd and 12 situations, so he has to get out of that pocket.
Um, so once again, he throws us.
So it's a defense of bomb play interception by the Detroit Lions secondary.
So nice will pick by them.
But the truth of the matter is, that was that was an alibi's passed by, um um, Murray and I game.
I was just an alibi's pass, and he will take it back to the 20.
So that's that's another guy.
That's a beast right there, Jeffrey. Okay, Dola.
He's a playing for them.
Yeah, that was an overthrow right there.
So that was a good overthrow.
I like that past defense right there on that last place.
It was an overthrow.
So next play right here.
he would try Thio.
Once again, it's an over 12.
So it's a that's two times he overthrew that football.
So, like I said, um, he will over throw that ball.
He will absolutely overthrow the football, if you are, and and that's in the goal line situations.
So that's probably going to be, um that's probably going to be his, um it Z downfall right there.
So if we can slow him down and that red zone, I think we'll we'll be okay coming out of those.
Um, but the thing is, we have to get off the field on third down.
Because look, Aaron Rodgers, last week, he was just popping the receivers like crazy.
Right in LA, right? A lot.
So that was just some We just had a bad.
Like I said, we just had a very bad week last week.
Hopefully, this week will be entirely different story when we, um, played on this Sunday.
So that's a field goal.
So we're gonna we're gonna scroll down to another place where roll this play.
We're gonna go to another.
Fast forward to it, not apply.
This is on defense.
This is the past. Play right here. The number 10.
The reception right there.
So this is on once again on on their end.
So pass play to 10.
So he gets it again.
And then collar, Murray.
Nice little run. Play by collar.
That's on third and five against the defense.
So I think they did pretty good job giving him something against that Detroit, Um, defense.
So this is on first in 10.
You will throw a screen pass.
Yeah, and it would get that first down on the screen pass.
So this is on Second of loving right here.
Second and loving situation, um, one back in the backfield for Arizona.
And the Detroit has their people back.
So now throw a pass play right there once again to 10.
So he's been catching the ball the whole in that game, so it's every time we ran through the frames, This is Ah, pass. Play right here.
So nice will pass place so it gets him a touchdown.
So that's against the so Detroit defense.
So once again, I say this, um, about this game block, Detroit is going to be like I said they're gonna run the band of man that might run there Like I said, they might run.
Therefore, 334 They might disguise everything.
So, like I said, we have to have the ability so adapt to that situation.
Because if you don't adapt to it, guess what? They're gonna burn you in an instant because they're they're going to get some pressure on breeze.
They already breeze.
Right now they're saying they're talking about his passing.
Officious e hasn't been up to par, but the truth of the matter is, hopefully it can improve this Sunday against Detroit.
I hope it does, because what? Uh, but we don't wanna have to change quarterbacks at the and the young in the middle of the season.
We don't want to do that.
What breeze has gotten us far.
But the truth of the matter is, or he's going to get prospect.
What we have to do is this.
We have to be more consistent.
Offensive line looks at the block they block last week for Alvin Kamara.
Alvin Kamara had a monster of a football game last Sunday night, and that's it.
And that's the main reason we have to have a sustainable running game we can't have on Lee a sloppy running game.
And the first happened in second half comeback and have a look all rosy.
And stuff like that can happen.
We gotta have that all times.
So, um, once again, let's go ahead and give you the d b o A rankings, and we'll go ahead and pull this up for you.
We'll go over this and then we'll wrap this up going at this hour and a half.
So let me get this up for you and give you a D b o A r Records on Detroit give you those.
Let's pull up the team.
Offense was back.
Let's pull this up for this week.
Okay? The D b o a.
Rankin's, which is, um, defense.
Adjust over defense.
A just value over average.
That's what they're talking about.
This is, um, this is between past and run offenses.
So we're gonna give you their numbers, are gonna break down their numbers for you.
Okay, Detroit, right now is, um, we'll give you those numbers.
I'm gonna pull them up right now, so I'm gonna get that up my screen gave a show.
You okay? I'm gonna scroll it down.
I said Right now, Detroit is ranked 22nd and and there D V O A. Right now there.
Last week, there's right.
But there offensive Davis, that z 15.
And also that pass offenses 21st And that rush offices, Right? 17th.
So they're gonna be in the This is a top 20.
Um, top 20 past ranks right there for the Detroit Lions.
Now the New Orleans Saints.
Let's give you an update on New Orleans Saints, okay? They're right.
Temp in the d b o a. Rankin's.
That's this is from football outsider.
Um, there are also right third in the Dave s and the day, Officer Dave.
Also in the past offense, the right knife and also in the run offense that ranks 16th.
So that Z in the, um that Z on the offensive, Siri's with the We'll give you the defense of one.
So go ahead, give you the defense of one's in a socket.
I was gonna give you those.
We'll call him up and give you the office of the Defense of Efficiency for both of Detroit.
Okay, let's give you Okay, Saints, right now in, um, defense, D B O A.
Last week they were right. Temp.
Now they're back.
Two slots down to 12.
Now, The, uh, data is Dave, which is the that Franken right there.
They're ranked seventh in that area now in pass defense.
That ranked 21st and run defensive.
So that's in the D v o A rankings, right?
