Any Knicks fan open invite.
If you're trying to dress on the show, we're excited bringing our first ever guests to Nick ish at night.
We got zero host of the die hard Knicks podcast.
What's going on, man? Yeah, I'm happy to be here, man.
Happy to finally meet you guys and do some podcasting, man.
Yeah, I'm glad to have you on, you know, just we both all part of the nothing but next network.
So it's finally we all click up like this.
You know just what we do and do what we love to talk hoops, you know? Yeah.
There's a Queens thing tonight, man.
Queens is enough for sure.
So we got the We got the Lakers and the Heat game going on in about an hour.
So, you know, on top of your head are off the bat here.
Who do you think's gonna win? Game one? Game one.
I want to say the Lakers, the Lakers, they're gonna try to take their heart like just like a typical LeBron teams man.
They like to, you know, run.
They want they want, they're gonna try to take their heart right away with the alley oop dunks and, you know, back cuts and all kind of stuff.
You know, just the typical play where they go to the baseline and through the alley of towards the middle.
They're gonna be doing that at all all game, you know, to try to just take the energy away from them.
I feel like with LeBron vs Pat Riley thing like, I think today he was trying to downplay it like you talked about how much respect you guys, but like, he how much respect he has for Pat Riley.
But we know LeBron at this point.
He just he's a petty dude and like when he puts out a message, it's for a reason, you know what I mean.
So he will big up Pat Riley, but I think he's gonna wanna come out and just like like you said, just make a good first impression and just get out there.
I mean, like, do what he does like an 80 ft alley oop to a D u E.
It works for him, he uses.
That's one of the things that that drives him forward.
And we we see in the past.
When she gets petty, LeBron gets gets ready and he goes, he goes off.
I think I think this game, we're going to see LeBron going back.
Thio you know his his roots and just going at the going out to eat right now.
Um, but the defense of the Heat and three point barrage they're gonna come in with, I'm excited to see that.
I think they're definitely the underdogs.
But anything about that Kobe possible narrative that's that's been that's been made.
You know, it's hard to over against the Lakers, too.
So yeah, Kobe Building.
Definitely, man Jacoby.
Oh, for sure, for sure.
Man, you can't forget about Pat Riley.
You know LeBron is salty on that side, but, you know, Pat Riley, with his suits, unquestionably ripped 445 suits before, you know, before the game started.
You know, Joe Mafioso pet like he's like he's the top to do where they showed him in the game, and he's like went upstairs wearing a mask.
I was like, How you make a masculine gangster? E That's crazy that that swag that aura and like, yo credit to him like he pulled it off like he got the heat back to the finals like, what was it six years after LeBron left? And nobody expected that, You know, like I know we call him Pat the Rat around New York, but yeah, you got to give credit when it's due to a legend, you know? I mean, that's that's six straight decades that pat rallies in the N b A Finals.
That's crazy to me as a player, as a coach, as a president.
And now, you know, again as the president of the 2026 straight decades, that that's unprecedented.
Yeah, past the man, man.
And just this Miami.
The short amount of time he's been there, he rebuilt him like four times.
Man, that's that's That's amazing.
The old four teams are basically, um, all different.
You know, all different styles.
Ah, play all different kind of players, you know? So I mean, he's the man.
You can't really You can't really Um just got to tip your hat to those guys, even the Lakers, to how many times did they rebuild their franchise over the years? And they both have two different ways of going about it, too.
Which is which is interesting for sure.
I mean, with Lakers, we know exactly they did.
They signed LeBron one summer on.
Then the next summer they just threw all the young kids out of there like just toss them to decide, get a D.
And now you see where they're at, right? And then Miami.
It's like, remember, a couple years back they gave up mad bad contracts.
So, like he's like role players like Dion waiters James Johnson like straight up like some Nick ****.
Basically mhm like some Nick ish it basically.
But, you know, it didn't just to clear it out eventually because, you know, perhaps that's the man, man.
He collects assets, whatever gets guys in a certain way where he could package them later because, I mean, he did the same thing while I'm right.
Well, when he when he got shock, you know, they actually were playing pretty good.
They had Lamar Odom and those guys, and he just scooped them up, tossed him to l.
A shot came over.
I don't know how.
I can't remember how they got Antoine Walker and Tom Walker and all those guys.
They got Gary Payden white chocolate players.
Next thing you know, they're in the finals and they went in.
The championship is crazy, man.
So it's like that, Like, the perfect comparisons Like seeing Iggy and the Finals again.
But in the heat, uniforms like, I swear to God, I forgot he was even on Miami before the bubble started.
All these guys get rings to man.
Well, are listening, J I was gonna get a ring.
Uh, yo, what's wildest? Dionne's going to get a ring regardless.
Apparently, if Miami once If Miami wins, they got the choice to give the on the ring.
I don't think that will do it, though.
Yeah, uh, well, you know everyone it comes down to we know Jimmy Butler is gonna be The person is gonna look at the most bam second.
Who do you think that they're player who really needs to step up for the Siri's against the Lakers when you think about it? What for? From Miami.
But it's gonna be for for them They like they like old school.
They always find the open man.
You know, somebody, a couple people on Twitter.
He was talking about Twitter.
Ah, couple people have made the connection with with the 04 Detroit Pistons because I'm there's not one player on the team just like the Alfa, Really? It just it just like what? They play like seven guys, you know, that's typical Miami to they always go seven deep.
So they got, like, seven guy as all all Gangsters, they all just like Pat Riley.
A bunch of crazy maniacs, you know, led by, you know, our boy Jimmy Butler or whatever minutes.
So, you know, it's just gonna be a night tonight thing somebody somebody always gonna pop off every night.
So, yeah, what's what's interesting to me is like we saw kind of Jimmy take a back seat offensively last like serious.
He was still like what he does on defense, you know? I mean, like, locking down just being that tough leader, but like, you expect him to kind of step up in match LeBron like tit for tat in the finals, like in terms, offense or no, I think he's just basically gonna do the same thing, cause if if he starts to, um to play hero Ball, that that just kills the whole thing that they're doing over there, man.
So I just can't I can't wait, because I know.
What's the what's the guy's name? The Duncan guy.
I know he's gonna get off.
Yeah, Duncan Rob like Duncan Robinson, man, you know, he's good with the role that they have him in.
And then, uh, you know, Tyler heroes.
Another another killer, too.
They all got the same personality, even to the to the small forward sensors.
They all have that.
That is like it's like they like they took the cop test.
You know, when you when you when you when you meet a cop, they all got that that you know, that that beady eye and they got that.
No, no, no, not the cops.
You know, I got family that this police officers to what they know they've got the beady eyes or whatever, You know what I'm saying? So they got characteristics so, like, you know, they just always tend to get the same kind of players, so that.
I mean, I'm excited, man.
I actually can't wait to get to watch the game, you know? Yeah.
Real quick shot to Sim Russell on the nothing but next family.
We see some watching us right now. Shut up, man.
When it comes down to it, I think I think Tyler here it might be that guy who's going to step up at this point.
As if I had to choose anybody on that team as a third guy, potentially to step up.
He dropped 37 points two games ago.
That three point shot has got a hard, hard to defend right now.
And we got 20 years old, 20 years old.
He's not afraid to let his nuts drop, like in the big game.
E mean, that z crazy e Here was a story in my mouth just now.
You You said it before I could used to tell her on your mouth.
I'm all about the pause Life guys.
E u gotta be careful, you know, But no.
But going back to your point about just like the kind of the two blueprints that both teams use.
Like if you had to pick.
Like if somebody just said, you know, we got option one option to for, like, how you want the Knicks to build.
Would you go to L A Lakers route? Like with all that they did to get to where they are right now in the finals? Or would you kind of do like Pat did with the heat? You know, like hit on draft picks in the late lotto, You know, I mean, kind of make these crazy trades that out that are out the blue.
I mean, we just go after the big fish.
Well, that makes my mouth water.
You know, just, you know, I mean, besides the type of thing, man, But I mean, like, for, like, the last 15 years or so, starting with, um, with Scott Laden into Isaiah and all that stuff we've been trying to do with the Lakers they are doing now.
We've been trying to do that school time.
You know what I'm saying? So we just always done the wrong thing, you know? Always made the the wrong move at the right time, so I mean, we've been there, done that.
It would be nice to do that, because we all have.
Right now we have a crossroads where we can, where you can either do either one.
We can trade all access and do the same thing the Lakers air doing, grab a star and try to do that.
But, you know, we've had bad luck to this point.
And then now we we've on the media has made a mockery of us.
But especially with Durant, you know, this is not cool to be a nick anymore.
So we kind of need to finally just do what diehards been begging to do.
And that's exactly what Miami is doing.
You know, just some Gangsters, you know, with the same.
That's on the same page.
Guys that love the game and just Yeah, well, we got Tom Thibodeau.
I mean, hindsight is 2020 but that's the perfect coach to start this, you know? Yeah, 100 100%.
Then when you look at some of the next Twitter has that are upset that we hired Tom Thibodeau so so early with Doc Rivers out as if we're guaranteed Doc Rivers on our team.
Like you said, Tom Thibodeau is perfect for what we're doing right now building a great team.
We have the front office organization.
They they're going to put up to a test November 18th during the NBA draft, and we'll see what they do.
But we got, we got a good we got on paper, we got a good front office and we got a great coaching staff, you know? So it's just a Mexico.
It's on paper, right? Heard it before.
You know, that's that PTSD coming back, right? But, you know, it's at this point.
Um, it's about drafting right in developing the players, and that's that's what Miami is doing.
And, you know, truth be told, I don't think any of us really thought that Miami work title contenders a month ago.
You know, I don't I don't think so, But I think they were on that.
I would have said they're on that trajectory of being like an L A team and develop their young guys, then sign a monster free agent or do a monster trade.
But sometimes you know that that first methodology of how they built their team is really the way to go.
I think I agree with you there.
That's that's the way we do.
We can't keep looking at 2021 assume we're gonna get these free agents.
That's just that's just not gonna happen.
Yeah, I don't think any next found out here is assuming we're just gonna grab your honest in 2021.
We just We just, like, got burnt.
We just got burnt, you know, like with the K d entirely situation.
Like I'm out of that game.
You know, if they come or if somebody comes, he comes.
But I'm not expecting it, you know.
Ah, lot of fans on Twitter, especially there.
They're already talking about the point guard.
What's with some drag? Already talking about signing drag it this summer.
I mean, just because they made the finals just a few months ago Like when that came up, it was like, Oh, hell, no.
We don't want Draghi's.
Didn't old decided? Not in the finals. Oh, wow.
Look, she could drag.
It is such a great player.
Well, we need a guy like that to build our team.
You know, you kind of get sick of that.
You really you really get single nonsense.
It's just like prisoners at the moment you know? I mean, like, I saw people yesterday, there was a report that the Knicks didn't pursue Jimmy Butler or something like that.
I was just like, Are you the same people? That clown, Just for thinking we could get a free agent.
Now, you climbing us for not pursuing a free agent, like is can't be both.
You know, like these people just don't know.
Just sometimes you go on Twitter.
I just shut that stuff.
Like, shut it off, like, immediately because, like, why? Why some judges? Revisionist history runs deep.
Yeah, the history runs.
Don't say anything when people.
Okay, I'm sorry.
No, I'm just saying a revisionist history runs deep that za about it.
Yeah, well, I was just I was gonna say like, as soon as you walk into the room, people start saying stuff, you know, even now I just kind of just look at them and they already know I got this podcast.
You know, everybody is always asking me for T shirts and stickers and stuff like that, but I mean, like, they could be talking, walk out the room and just, you know, pretend like didn't even say anything because you could you just get tired of it every every day.
You know, for as long as I've been a Knick fan, I've been a Knick fan a long time, and I've been dealing with that for for at least since high school met.
So we were talking, like, a few decades Right now, I'm kind of sick of it already.
And Leon, that's all we could say right now, you know.
Used to be trusting Scott Perry.
Like, three years ago when we started our podcast.
I think, you know, we learned our lesson.
I'll be joking that, like Leon Rose probably just put Scott Perry in, like, a broom closet or something, You know, like, get all these from front office people in.
Just let Scott give him a one year extension, just like a leading into a broom closet.
Well, what do you guys think about Scott Perry? I thought I thought, um, he set the table for what we're doing now because he was able to get, you know, Mitch Robinson and these these guys, you know, I'm saying so.
He kind of set us.
And also the capture You can't really forget that he is the one that clear the cat for us to So you basically take for where we're going to go? You know, um, e I just kind of made a joke, but I could say probably gonna been different on Scott Perry because I remember when we retain them, there was a lot of people just going crazy.
Like, how could we do this? Like, why would we do This is just typical Knicks.
Why don't you get him out of here? I was like it.
Like Isaiah Thomas.
You know, he he did.
He found this, Mitch.
He found Trey, er, you know, for a season who was a pretty good fine for undrafted free Agent Knox is obviously to be determined, but I feel like like your point is that Scott Perry just made mad, solid moves and solid to us.
That's a major improvement, you know, like e don't even think it helped him that he had to work with Steve Mills.
I feel like one week into that partnership, he realized that Yeah, What did I dio like? What did I get into? You know, I mean when you get into work and he's got, like, a dumb ass coworker like ****.
My livelihood depends on this.
Dude, I e I actually personally like Scott Perry.
I think for the job that he was hired to do, he did it and they don't do any stupid moves.
Thio throw the whole table for who was that's emails going after a couple of months ago s So much has happened since I don't even remember their body.
Give up everybody for yeah.
You want to tell Mary moved everybody the whole farm for D.
Angelo Russell and Scott Perry.
You know? You know, you know, nudge James Dolan a little and be like, Yo, look what Scott Perry is about to do and Scott Perry got fired for it. I'm sorry.
The emails got fired for eso.
Very kind of, you know, stay the Nixon in in some way or form.
But as far as castaways goes, we have as faras lottery.
As far as picks go, we have all of them and then some.
So and we have we got the best second round pick in the last.
I don't know five years.
Maybe I can't think back who else was drafting the second round.
That's as good as Mitchell Robinson right now, but arguably top three in the last five years.
Yokich was 2015.
Yeah, so fine, you know, top three, but one.
Last time Knicks had a defensive center.
I I camera last time.
Maybe, But do you want to play there? I think Mom E.
I think Scott for the job he was hired to do.
He did a great job, so I don't have any qualms. He gets him.
I think he stays.
He does his job.
He stays quiet and his drama free.
So if we can find a g m, sure.
But I wouldn't get mad of keeping him.
I want to just say, though we're kind of we're talking about Scott Perry, but I feel like we're tiptoeing around like the elephant in the room, the KP trade, you know? I mean, like, since we're talking about Scott Perry is the whole that's got to go on his resume.
I don't know if you want to give credit to Steve Mills for that, but hero like, what do you think of that.
Like, I don't think we got your initial thoughts on the KP trade, Obviously, but like, Well, what did you feel back then? How you feeling now? I guess if you want to dig up all wounds Oh, my God.
Well, I just want to say like, in my mind, just just from how I know how I know Mills was and whatever.
I could just imagine that KP came in there with his brother.
Is that Yes, We're looking to do this, but if you get a good player Tokyo leave here and we're not going to resign, so you know, the little spirals like, man, you know what? Get your e.
You think you could talk to me about E.
Scott Perry? You know, So I think that's how e was like a drama.
Scott Perry had to be like, Oh, my God.
What are you doing? So he just got the best deal that he couldn't clear the cap and got the draft picks.
So I believe that's how it went, man.
So I think Middle screwed it up, and then Scott Perry had to have Thio.
You know, like you know, damage.
You know, you're like, Oh, my God.
What are you doing? What are you doing? Yeah, so I think we came upon it, man.
You know, I think then we kind of needed to get rid of KP because just, um because he was on that, that that rule, he was kind of spoiled with, uh, Shumpert.
And the first time t.
Was give me tomorrow with Junior was there, and you are from here.
They're kind of with diva ish, you know, they push in out of town.
Really? There's a lot, a lot of things like then they also Melo to he's the star.
And, you know, everybody talks well about about Melo that that he's such a great teammate.
But, I mean, if you if you play, if you watch him play, um he isolates everybody on the basketball court.
So I mean that that these are the type of mentors that he had that some swelled up and just probably over just over flu.
Yeah, and you mentioned the off in the room, but Scott Perry wasn't the one who caused KP to be as upset as he waas thistles.
The Phil Jackson era with Steve Mills as GM.
And, um, you know, once Bill was gone after all the ****ing fires he let up for the for the Knicks, you know, players Shawn Bradley comparison and trying to trade him, even though, you know, in hindsight that trade would have put a Devin Booker would have worked out.
That's neither here nor there.
Phil Jackson, a biggest and was like presented his injuries like he's like a 7 ft three like twigs that can't like.
That's like a committed relationship with injuries like, No doubt, no doubt.
In that sense, he was right.
But his approach as a president was not right that those kind of things don't need to publicize their be smokescreen in or have you know, media leak out.
That's the thing I like about Leon Rose.
None of his **** is out in the air like that.
All they're very to themselves as they should be.
But, you know, for Scott Perry for the job he had to do, they that trade wasn't a bad trade.
Dennis Smith Jr just isn't performing as expected, but the picks they got the cap flexibility, ability that they got the Tim Hardaway Jr wasn't even on Scott Perry, either.
That's 72 mile contract that Steve Mills, you know.
So I think for the job that Scott Perry I do with which was clean everything up, he did a good job.
That's why we're on a good track right now, at least for now.
Time being fair, Fair e.
Let me ask you this.
So when you watch Miami play and you see like that player development, do you kind of share the same feeling I do and just get more mad about the Fizdale era? Because wasn't he straight from that coaching tree? He was gonna bring all that player development mumbo jumbo here and then, like he broke down the Smiths jump shot, Rose His idea to have Keith Smart be a shooting coach and like the lack of development we've seen for the last couple years, like, how do you feel like I'm just mad watching Miami because it's like, beautiful, like talking.
Robinson wasn't even drafted, you know, and he's just like lighting it up.
But we got a lot of picks that could barely dribble the ball.
You hit the nail right on the head. Keep smart.
You know what is your guy? Hey, you know what? I'm gonna be the coach of the Knicks.
You know what? You know what? What is cute smart doing right now? You know what I'm saying? Kids.
When I was like, Oh, ****.
You want me to coach on the next with you? Oh, my God.
You know, you shaved his head and ****.
You know e o do it.
How do you rate marches and stuff? Trying to get fit into his old students and stuff was like, Oh, my God, that's number one, you know.
But number two, like the first game of Of of the first official game got because, you know, pre preseason, you're trying to figure guys out and stuff.
But I mean, that that first game hindsight as well to like, um, he started RJ and Trey er in the first game.
So I mean, I play like, I think, maybe like the first seven minutes, and then he lost to me like like, like, left.
Or maybe he had diarrhea or something.
And he didn't come back again for the whole game.
And then, like, later on as the season goes by, you wondering like, why is Archie out there on? And there's no point guard like that they had on Wayne Ellington out there. They're all these.
Um, Well, and then you look, you thinking like, wait a second. R.
J is the point guard.
He thinks he thinks R. J.
Barrett is the point.
E had, like, school point guards on the roster.
We had, you know, regardless of what you think of individual player, you wanna talk about D S J.
Frank, You want to talk about what's the other dude? That the one that we got rid of for? For Jared Harper.
I keep forgetting, you know, you know, could be melon.
Uh, you know, Kadeem Allen was actually what probably one of our most consistent players over the years.
But, I mean, you know him and then also l for painting all these point guards and you and you chose to start Archie A and trail to begin the season.
And then you forget about entree altogether.
I mean, like, what was What was he and and then, then, um, he's using this guy.
Uh, you know, what's what's on Bay Blade? I'm, like, hyped up right now, baby laid the guy that friends around all the time.
Julius Randle Randle, Julius Randle, Man, he got primary ball handler A baby, you know, spending around in the lane and stuff like that.
I mean, it was unbelievable.
He just did a He just did a **** job of a coach.
And not I feel I feel I feel bad for him because well, then I got I don't feel bad because people still vouching for him.
I just don't get it.
You didn't see what he did as a coach.
I mean, I can't I just can't believe it.
You know, this is like I knew that nix bias like, was so obvious when, like, they would like ESPN.
All them wouldn't stop, like, big enough Fizdale after we fire him.
Even though, like Mike Miller is taking the same roster.
And actually has this look incompetent, you know? I mean, so that's when I I knew physical.
Got some friends in high places, bro.
Like and in the way Pat Riley and Spoelstra.
We're talking about him before we hired him I thought we was getting like a prodigy, bro.
You know, like we got the exact opposite.
I was probably most disappointed.
I ever been in a coach like Higher and we've had plenty.
Obviously, you know, you have the high expectations, and we we learned from this.
He's just doesn't to be a new assistant coach, the guy who just doesn't being Alice right next to Paul Pierce about that desk.
E don't think he has coaching e.
Keep the players calm, Apparently sort of his friends he probably play fortnight with.
Yeah, you just point out that a coach from that came from spoils from Pat Riley.
Tree Could could do so poorly.
And then Dennis Smith Jr.
You kept him on the court that first game for you know, however, many minutes straight.
But Dennis was breaking every shot, and that's when the Frank chats.
Chance started coming out, and it just that just that's ****ed up Desmond doing for the rest of the season.
Honestly, I think that first game haunted him on.
Do you know he's a He's an emotional player, which isn't bad, but you know when you feel like the fans are against you makes you not wanna play.
I'm sure I can't speak for but I'm sure that that was That was a big reason why I was against him when he dropped at Perry Ellis commercial.
I'm like, Dude, you can't way dropping Perry Ellis Ellis commercials.
Are you serious? Oh, my God.
Yeah. I mean, at least you got the bag.
You know, he's I think he's still being paid by doling.
So you've got the coach in New York for a little bit, you know, Like, showed his life a good time for two years? I guess So.
You know, props.
I give them respect.
Oh, Leo, all the respect all respect you.
No offense intended because those in the chat wife in the chat Let me see.
I don't think she's in the shower.
Yeah, she behind you creeping up right now, Let me check my check to see what you up to.
Now I'm playing for Cell wrote.
Well, 11 point about Fizdale is that you know, he was expecting to coach Durant and Kyrie and stuff like that.
So that's his element.
He's the guy that's like, um like like all the coaches that used to coach on LeBron.
What's that goofy guy with the glasses? Oh, Mike Brown.
All these guys, they they're not really coaches.
They just kind of like, Hey, guys, just pass the ball to LEBRON like, you know what I'm saying? Like, hey, you know what I'm saying? So that it was like, Come on, guys, you know, just pass the ball to Durant and, you know, you know, you can get a shot just past it to carry, you know? Yeah, e.
I mean, to be fair official.
Uh, yeah, to be fair, physical.
Took that same recipe, gave it a Randall.
He's like, you saw Randall do them pull ups with the ****ing chains around his neck.
And he's like, All right, that's my LeBron James there.
Ugo Rest is history giving the ball and get the **** out of the way.
The problem was, he couldn't get on anybody else's way with the ball.
Like just spinning like a top in the traffic.
That's the problem.
Like Whoa, next.
You know. Hello.
Uh, but he's still a good player, though.
Yeah, it's just like misuse and like, a bad fit because, like like we personally love the designing.
And then just like afterwards, it was like it was so obvious he was a bad fit because, like, if r J and Mitch are quote unquote cornerstones and they can't shoot, you're gonna make this this free agent without a jumper, your main piece.
But also, you want to develop the two guys that can shoot, is gonna get ugly like offensively, you know, And then you help that they've signed so many powerful It's too.
So e mean, Hopefully, like this season or this offseason, I feel like we take that plan that Steve Mills had, like, get vets and develop the youth.
So we actually execute like the nun like the non dumb ass version of it, you know, like beyond West.
And all of them, like e think the general manager or the front office aspect of it from last year kind of made sense.
If you look at the shooting percentages from last year, Randall's wasn't that bad from the three I want to do is at least 36 37% and I think Bob reports is actually 40%.
And they brought Wayne Ellington.
They brought a bunch of three point shooters.
It was it was really just a coaching that that they couldn't keep up with both.
Both Dale and Miller just didn't know how to use Randall the right way.
And you hope that Thibodeau, with his coaching experience, which is a lot more than those two guys we wouldn't know how to use in the right way.
But at this point, I think Randall on the team's just isn't a good fit unless he suddenly realizing how, you know, shoot a jumper and right and, uh, bring up the ball anymore.
If tips can I get a team with Carlos Boozer who in like, 60 games, I think you could take a team with Julius Randle toe like eight seed maybe.
I mean, that's my hope, you know, like just come off the bench, be that Super six, man.
You know? What do you think you're a Yeah, sure.
But I agree because because I mean, he took on a lot of Well, I mean, that boosting didn't have a lot of talent, but, you know, he put that mixed together, and it was able to get them to function, you know, because they all the same kind of kind of guys, you know, the same.
You know, they all come from the same cloth.
So I mean, like, the problems with him and Minnesota is that those guys, they also were cut from the same cloth, but they were cut from a terrycloth.
You know what I'm saying? So it didn't really match with with Tom Thibodeau's, uh, e Jimmy Butler was going crazy, man.
So, I mean, I just I just hope that Well, I mean, just to just even draw the question.
Like Like, what do we do now? Because I know, you know, we want to cap space and stuff, like so we're gonna have to renounce half the team.
But a lot of guys like Bobby porters and some of these other guys, um, you know, actually, they actually have value and like it here.
You know what I'm saying? So what do we do? What do we do with that? Those type of players.
Would you keep Portis? Yeah, because, I mean, if I could, but, I mean, he makes 15 mil, so I mean, that's that's really going to kill the the cap.
Really? But, I mean, we're gonna have super cap, you know, Thio get like what? Like how much capital we have.
Like, is it 50 or e? Think so? This summer is like 50 40. ****.
In 2021 we got more cap, you know? So that's why I'm thinking if we keep, like Bobby on a 15 mil like it's over pay.
But, you know, he's back with tips.
I think tips coached him for a little bit. Right.
So there's that connection with Fred Hoiberg.
I think Fred Goldberg was this song first Coach.
Oh, yeah, you're right.
Because you got dropped to 2015.
Chicago Just let him go, man.
But he might have some insight on it, though.
Probably telling me how you should. You should have been here with the other guy.
Is Fred Dude don't know. ****.
Word was gonna be on our list.
I'll short list to be the head coach.
Man, that would have been a catastrophe.
You know, thankfully, not I actually like What do you think of the list of the coaches We did interview because there was some interesting names in there, you know, like some folks we didn't really hear of.
Like Jamal, mostly, I think, you know, like, and then you look into him.
Like, Okay, this dude got, like, a nice resume, you know? So, like, what do you think of that list? And, like, just a process to, like, get tips, You know, I think would have been good.
It would have been, um it would have been just just like any other player that would that we would get it would be, um let's just wait and see.
So the coach would be growing with the players and stuff like that.
And you would hope that, um, that we can set the table.
And then when somebody like Doc Rivers where we should have waited for, we should have waited for Doc Rivers.
You know, You know, then he would have been somebody that we might have gotten, maybe, like, down the road.
You know, this is this is another, you know, you know, dark mirror story or whatever.
You know, Terry, alternate reality because it's like, yo, we trying to not be a losing organization are losing organization.
Waits for other teams to like fire their coaches for them to start their search.
You know, I mean, like we had all this time, like I thought, I think.
Mark Berman, New York Post, he said.
Our search was eight weeks long.
That's a pretty good amount of time, you know, and all the candidates, like it's like people just be talking about the Saturday mouse just cause it's Knicks.
They're like, Oh, well, whatever, you know, like, Oh, they rushed their coaching search like, What are you talking about? Yeah, and the thing is that they're like, Yeah, because the CIA connections Tom Thibodeau was lock eight weeks before that.
Anyway, it's like so you know, like that's why we got Leon Rose.
That's how we got World Wide west for the connections to get one of those winning just coach of the last decade.
You know, he wants to know how many coaches have done that since 2000.
Not many very way got one of them.
They talk about the C a thing we walked.
We bought watch the finals like that whole Lakers front office got clutch like blooped like fingerprints all over it.
You know, like they LeBron got there.
He basically said it yesterday or two days ago is like, yeah, I brought 80 here for a reason.
Like you officially embraced.
He's a GM title.
I was like, Okay, He used to be, like, Slick with it before.
And now I was just like, yeah, I brought him here, Rob the Lincoln just like, sign the papers.
But it's like, Yeah, my point is basically like agencies, agents like connections run everything in every business.
You know, It's like it's about time the Knicks actually use it to their advantage, you know, instead of like being taken advantage of, you know, because I think c a like drop on Yanni on us, like, correct me if I'm wrong.
But I think that was that year not to bring up more PTSD, but you know, 0.
That's why every every rumor that that comes out every time a player is available Oh, the Knicks are rumored Thio to be, you know, involved in this thing here, Lou, you know, like the Knicks are always involved in something because we always were involved in it because every agent out there like Leon Rose was like, Let's call the Knicks, man.
Let's see what Steve Mills is gonna be.
Yeah, Steve, we gotta do for you.
Just give us all your traffics.
We'll give you, like, you know, exactly.
It's just like even with the free agent.
This is like, Okay, we can't get this much money from this team.
Let's just say we got the back from New York.
We couldn't have even spoken to these people.
But I feel like I need to start out.
They're all like, Yeah, we got a big offer waiting from the Knicks.
You know, it would be a free agent.
We had no connection to like it is what it is, you know? Now, hopefully that all changes for the best, you know, because CIA is basically the Knicks now, like, officially, you know, Not that there's anything wrong with that with it.
I'm described that we're not gonna be the laughingstock anymore.
You know? I'm drinking.
There's no alcohol in here.
I just wanna let you know, You know, it's just just my special grew over there, but I'm like, waiting patiently.
I I feel like like a I feel like a ticking time bomb because as soon as everything starts, starts getting together and we're starting to like, everyone could see the oh, the Nixon building something.
Oh, I'm gonna go.
I'm gonna go off.
I'm gonna go ****ing crazy, man.
I'm gonna let everybody know Already took names.
I got screen shots, a screenshot album.
Swear to God, I'm gonna be talking like, once we become good if and when Knock on what? I'm gonna be talking **** to babies and toddlers to, like Nixon babies and goo goo gaga.
I was like, Yeah, exactly.
Everywhere that I go, I'm just gonna walk up if I'm waiting on line at the bank or if I'm at work in the like my crew room or whatever.
I'm gonna walk in there, and I'm gonna just stand up and I'm gonna just pull off my jerk, my warmup uniforms every single time and my next stuff on just I'm just gonna be going crazy, man.
I mean, that's that's the thing these reporters and bloggers or writers that be like picking on Knicks fans. That's the thing.
I don't think they realize they like they poking like they poking the bear with a stick.
Like when we do become good and we wake up, it's gonna be vengeance, you know? I mean, like, we come, I'm like, we all got receipts, Basically.
Like I'm gonna be a Frank Isil is D M's 100%.
Oh, you Are you reading my mind? Did you guys get attacked by Frank Isola yet? Not yet.
That's a badge of honor we ain't got yet.
I was going to try to keep that to myself, but apparently, ah, lot of people have been getting abused by Frank Isola.
He actually climbed in my **** asses.
Well, I'm like, Why are you bothering me Family? Ain't you like the beat writer? The Knicks? And you're gonna be on ESPN in, like, five minutes.
Why are you damming me? Oldest nonsense.
Whatever, man. So like, whatever.
Yeah, I think Sim even said that he had a funny story.
I wanted to keep him stuff, but he was basically said like he had a running in the d. M's.
And then I think it was a situation where he ended up like a media day on Frank I solo like he's a keyboard warrior.
Because apparently he was like, Why does the ghost like he didn't expect to see him in person and like, that's mad? Typical.
You know, like I I'm not surprised.
I solar he seemed like the type big **** talker behind the screen, like a little puppy in person that, you know, it was like Pucci just barking and ****.
I don't even know what the **** is barking at.
Like he'd be like this.
Slander doesn't even make sense, bro.
Like it be, the Knicks have nothing to do with the situation.
And then he'll probably like who put out a tweet that just like brings us into the situation, is like, Oh, if this is the Knicks exercise, he would happen. How disgraceful.
Like, what are you talking about? Like he'd be making these timeline in his head.
Like these alternate realities.
It just puts it out there because he's so angry.
You name the top players in any game.
Be like also, players of the Knicks missed out on LeBron James.
Yeah, the Knicks missed out on him.
They don't like What's wrong with these girls? E a soccer dad.
So maybe she it could soccer mom from him or whatever. I don't know.
Hey, good for you.
I don't wanna disrespect anybody.
E That's how you do it, I guess.
I mean, we'll keep it.
Really? You know, I saw it.
I mean, the thing is, if I saw it was respectful of fans, you know, the people that actually kind of pay his salary, I wouldn't I wouldn't have Like, I wanna be throwing out these kind of jokes or whatever we way probably actually wouldn't, like, hate him this much.
We're not hate, but, like, you know, just clowning for what he is.
But, you know, he's getting what he deserves, You know, like you antagonized math fans for so long, Like, obviously, we're gonna hold up in better against you, and we're mopping up to man.
So it's not just gonna be sin by himself.
One day he's gonna come in, there's gonna be a room full of us, and he's gonna be like, uh, he's gonna get out of here.
He's a soccer guy, by the way, man, he's on that.
That's that's his sport.
So he doesn't even like basketball.
I don't even know how even gotten to the point where he's writing.
Ah, sports writer for the Knicks, man.
He's made so much money off it, too.
Yeah, you tell me about to this day.
I think he's still on around the horn.
That's like the Knicks expert for the New York sports expert.
I was like, bro, what do you Why is that? Like if we just talked about connection, that's like a point right there.
Like you don't matter how good you are at your job.
If you got the connections, you get where you need to get, you know, like I'll give myself a little credit for that ****.
Yeah, that that around the horn thing, you know, when when they put them, he's always like this, You know? I'm saying what everyone is ****ing He's like this because he lost already.
He never gets to the end, you know, because he's like a widow man, you know? Have you got there? He got there off the sweat of our our backs, man.
That's the best part about these podcast because we're the ones who get to call them out on their bull**** now.
For years they've been running free, talking all their ****, creating their own narratives.
But that's the best part about these podcast.
And that's that's just that's the **** that I hear from people who listen to us like, Yo, it's cool that there are people out there who can call these guys out on their bull****.
Um, we're gonna start wrapping stuff sewed up of the first edition of the naked shot night.
Uh, real quick, you for the finals.
Who do you think's gonna win and how many games altogether? I'm sure you got the Lakers, but how many games you think they're gonna take A? It might go forward.
It might be four, too, Lakers, But I mean, I don't want I don't want to say that my mouth that that I'm rooting for Miami to do anything, But, you know, I would really love them.
Thio like, um, you know, draw blood, you know? But I just think the Lakers they just have the two best players is just too much for for Miami Thio.
But, you know, I could be wrong man, You know that.
That's that's why I'm a Knicks fan, because I really don't give a **** about either.
Either team, you know, it's all about the Knicks, but I can't wait to watch, Actually, Yeah.
