it's Yeah, yeah.
Good morning, everyone.
And welcome to a new week.
Full press coverage.
Radio live. I'm being Glendon.
My name hasn't changed.
Has the change in today? I was born on And my co host, though he has a lot of names, Plenty of names, many of which I have given him.
And I can barely keep track of eso.
We're just gonna go with Mr.
Russell stole that from my co host here because he heard about him and he heard about all the good things happening up in the little state of Rhode Island.
So without further dio e got to bring in my co host because, well, I can't do this show alone.
Mike, what's going on, buddy? How you doing? I'm doing well.
Yes, uh, somewhat limited.
I was going to be a topic of conversation.
Well, of course, you folks did you get Did you get the low score of the week? I haven't confirmed.
I think it might have been.
I know that our good friend Brian Snow and I are competing for that.
That cellar dwelling spot we're We're both thinking for travel right now.
Yeah, zero thes starkwood mercenaries.
You know, John, voice is really, really upset right now.
And, you know, there's there's all alike kinds of stuff going on in in Stark would.
But right now, yeah, I think we're I think we're bringing up the rear.
Yeah, that was a pretty, uh, pretty devastating loss.
Thio Theo owing to Mahoney's good friend Dylan Sanders.
Uh, yeah, really, Really.
Mop the floor with my stock with mercenaries.
Just not a good day.
Well, at least one half of their shows hosting team.
We'll pick up a victory this week because yours truly picked up his second when off.
And it's not official because I still have one player going.
But I do have, ah, 25 point lead or something like that. Something ridiculous.
Let me pull it up right now.
I actually, I have it right on my phone because that Zatz what I dio 154 to 140 right now.
And like I said, I have one player going.
So assuming I don't have a falcons like demise, I I would say this victory ISS safely in the bag.
And Ross? That's right.
You lost e don't.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Ross rhymes with loss two years way Have a lot of fun and I can't.
I'm coming off a pretty, pretty bad loss myself last week.
So this this is a nice rebound, and, uh, it puts me to it one. And I'm pretty happy.
I'm pretty happy.
This is my triumphant return Thio to the fantasy circles and one that I'm sure well, and just as many of my other fantasy seasons did, and that's an utter disappointment and defeat.
So for now, I'm gonna I'm gonna cherish this victory because, uh, looking back at our week three game picks that's one thing you are beating me at, my friend.
You may not have the height.
You may not have the fantasy a***en.
Ah, but you do have a pretty good record relative to May of picking these games each and every week.
So I think you finished 10 3 and you know, I don't know how you want to count this Philadelphia Cincinnati game. You had Philly.
I had Cincinnati.
Let's just, you know, e guess nothing that it means nothing.
It's like that state farm or the farmers commercial that that gets played over and over and over again.
During these games.
It's Ah, there's nothing happened. Nothing happened.
That game didn't exist.
Um, but you went 10 and three this week, my friend.
I went to a measly eight and five.
So it's ah, you're starting to gain some separation that way.
So good for you.
Yeah, you gotta love it.
I guess, folks, in reality, what we're trying to say here is that I'm better in reality.
And Ian's better in fantasy so that yes, that's where it comes down to, you know, So so you can have you can have your your your fantasy world about fantasy with E.
And I'll set a reality.
I'm disappointed I wasn't ready with that sound, but I'll be honest.
I have that I have.
That's one of my favorite ones.
And I didn't even make that connect.
Sure, but it's OK. It's Monday.
Uh, caffeine still kicking in.
I'm still kind of recovering from from what was a pretty jam packed, um, weekend in the NFL.
Before we get to that the real quick Because we wanna react some of this This craziness that happened this weekend.
Uh, but the NBA Finals are set.
Uh, the Los Angeles LeBron.
No, the LeBron Laker.
Now the Los Angeles Angels.
Hold on, uh, Los Angeles, like, you know, here's the thing I get.
So I get so confused watching this coverage because, like every headline, every lead is LeBron advances, LeBron lebron that LeBron was sitting on the ground because he was, You know, such a is awareness of the camera is incredible.
That might be his greatest quality, but anyways, that's besides the point.
I didn't want to mention that the Los Angeles Lakers will be taking on the Miami Heat in the NBA Final and, you know, obviously disappointed for the Celtics.
Uh, it's it's it's hard to win a serious when you blow double digit leads.
That's just not a recipe for disaster, especially when some of these leads came in in the fourth quarter.
So, you know, when you when you look back this season, yeah, it's a disappointment.
There's a lot to look forward to, obviously with, uh, you know, obviously with you know the the young stars that they have.
You know, Marcus smart is is 26.
So, like, you know, there there is things isn't a blow him up situation.
And obviously you wish you just played out a little bit better, but, you know Hey, it is what it is.
I think the Celtics eventually going thio, get over that hump.
But for now, we have the heat and the Lakers, and I will say this.
I am firmly behind the Miami Heat in this one.
Um, you know, this is in a situation of like, oh, they beat the Celtics.
No, I I There's two things that I dislike in basketball and that's the Lakers and and LeBron James.
So it seems like a perfect, uh, combination.
And by dislike, I mean, obviously, I recognized he's one of the greatest players to ever play.
But, you know, I've had this conversation when many people before I I think he's I think he's very fake.
I think you know what I mean.
Does that make sense? I think like I mentioned before the whole sitting on the court, like the reason he did that because he knew the camera was gonna be on him.
You know what I mean? Like, there's things that he does and this isn't just here and there and just my craziness.
There's things that he does.
It just it just doesn't come across it genuine.
And I I think, um, that adds to it.
And, of course, the LeBron fans on.
Of course, that's not fair to him, but LeBron fans tend Thio be very similar. Thio.
Other fan base is that way we deal with on a pretty regular basis.
But needless to say, rant over, uh, Heat and the Lakers in the n b A finals.
I think it's gonna be fun.
There's a lot of storylines, obviously, uh, LeBron's former team, the Heat going up against the Lakers.
You know, if your Celtics fan, obviously you never want Lakers to win, regardless of the situation.
So, um, you know, disappointing if you're, you know, from Boston.
But I think we've done pretty well for herself the last last couple of decades.
Yeah, without question.
And, you know, this is not a situation, folks.
Where you say I gotta go with the team that knocks you out exactly as he and said, if you're a Celtics fan, you just cannot move for the Lakers under any cir***stances.
So you know, we'll see.
We'll see what happens. Credit to the Miami.
You know, this is a team that not a lot of people expected to advance to this level.
Solid play throughout.
I thought they played inspiring basketball.
Um, you know, I thought Celtics had moments where they showed that they are on the cusp of being a the strongest team in the Eastern Conference.
Maybe you could make the argument that they might have been the strongest team in the Eastern Conference this year.
Unfortunately, just it didn't work out this year, for whatever reason.
So back to drawing board, I see a lot of people throwing shade and vitriolic the Boston Celtics this year.
They need Thio work on character issues, I think a little bit.
But ultimately I think the nucleus for this team is in place to succeed and succeed faster than we're sooner rather than later.
It is a better way for me to put it so Yeah, it should be an interesting eh NBA finals.
Just the fact that we're going to get a chance to see, you know, championship basketball being played.
And, you know, you've got the the, you know, the Major League Baseball playoffs starting up soon exciting times in sports.
So, yeah, I'll keep, uh, I'll keep it.
Yeah, I was going to say I was getting ready with the pen to market of the tally, but unfortunately, although tallies I mark next to the wind column for your pics kind of took up all the space on my sheet.
So, um uh, real quick, though, kind of sticking on the basketball topic.
And And I know if you're been on Twitter, you've seen this pop up, I'm sure.
But like, here, here's the thing that bugs me.
So CBS tweets this LeBron at the age of 35 and it's so God, So basically how they framed it, they started by saying, at 35 Well, this is this is an incredibly disingenuous and, uh, it deliberately misleading tweet because they use age 35 in two different ways.
When, when, you know, talking about LeBron and talking about Michael Michael during his 34 5 the same season that they're talking about with LeBron Michael won an MBA championship of MBA M v P Finals M v p.
So it was deliberately obtuse.
I love using that just like love it.
But it was It was It was, and it bugs me and the stuff like that, like you don't need to manipulate numbers and and tweet these deceiving things or create statistics.
They do that all the time of the Bron.
It's like, you know, LeBron's the the only player ever to score 27 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and and seven minutes and 37 seconds.
And it's just like, stop it, you don't need to do that, you know, talk about the guy, you know, great basketball player, all that stuff.
I think he's one of the best ever play the game, but, you know, kinda on these, like, you know, our rants when it comes to hyperbole.
But this is just like disingenuous hyperbole.
You know what I mean? Like, it's just it bugs me, but if you haven't seen the tweet, it's out there.
A lot of people are ripping it apart and just saying like Look, it's it's clearly misleading and of course they didn't mention, um uh, Bill Russell, who wanted to 11th and be a championship as a player and a coach at that age.
But, you know, Hey, whatever you gotta do Thio drive ratings up on the LeBron sports network, you know, but anyways, rant over.
We got a lot of other stuff to talk about.
We only have 43 minutes left, so we do want to get into it.
Coincidentally, 43 is the age of Mr Tom Brady.
And you like how I did that? I didn't even planet I didn't plan it because that would take far too much pre planning to get to that point.
That was just happenstance.
That yeah, it was good.
It was like it was good, But eso naturally, let's just start there because, uh, you know, that was the game that we kind of got pretty much I'm not going to say on the money.
I don't remember what your score was.
I had it a little bit, uh, wider of a gap.
But the end result that the score itself doesn't really matter.
It was about the game itself.
And I don't think at any point in that game the bucks were.
That game was just well in hand, I think from the get go and look, you know, they had a quiet second half.
I think, partly by design I mean again, Europe kind of big.
So, like, yeah, you know, naturally, maybe you don't put his much, uh, you know, a effort into scoring points or, you know, at least just in general.
But look, Tom Brady in that offense, they're starting to click their starting thio, find their rhythm, and I've seen some phenomenal throws from time.
Let's just put it out.
I mean, I mean, if you're if you've watched him and not just box score watched.
And there's a lot of people that do that because we've we've We've seen him do that for the best, better part of the last five years.
If you actually watch that game, you saw him hit.
Ah, lot of good does.
And look, the Bucks.
The biggest issue they have right now on offense is that they keep dropping the ball.
I mean, Brady's lost a lot of e mean stats, Uh, you know, because I know how important that is to some people, um, he's lost a lot of stats, uh, you know, through drops.
So it's like he's played great.
I think this offense is starting to evolve, and it was just, you know, it was.
It was kind of a very ho hum Patriot like win, but for the Bucks, And it's it's not a coincidence that, you know, maybe Tom has something to do with that.
I think Tom has a lot to do with it.
And look, you have to remember, with this Buccaneers offense, they're still evolving into what they could become.
Folks, they haven't peaked yet.
I think a lot of people expected this team to come out looking like, you know, the most vaunted offense that's ever been put together, and it simply wasn't going to happen.
I thought, you know, good points were made yesterday by some of the ****ysis that I was hearing while I was, you know, watching the Tampa Bay Bronco scheme.
You know, Rob Gronkowski coming back from, you know, being rejected.
Essentially, you know, Rob Rob had a very good day, and he was He was just putting weight back on.
He was still getting his legs out from under him.
Not a lot of conditioning Time to get together with these teams.
So ah, lot is evolving slowly And, you know, if you don't start right out out of the gate, this is Ah, let's face it.
This is a culture that is immediate.
You want immediate gratification and you don't wanna wait for anything.
If you don't wanna be patient, you just wanted You want it now and that's that's it.
Uh, G went organizations.
Right, Coach? No.
Well, we might we might I mean, and I I think pretty much anyone knows that commercial.
So I think we probably just triggered maybe clear.
I don't know if they have that over in the UK, but you know, everyone who's ever heard of that.
We just triggered that song in your head.
And I apologize because it's It's terrible.
Anyways, go ahead, my friend.
I think you know, Tampa Bay came up their offensive great yesterday is actually in the first half.
Um, the screen thio.
But Mike Evans for the goal line Touchdown Anybody, Any Patriots fan.
Well, remember that and I do want to point out Thio Patriots S B.
I forgot the other Roman numerals that he's using. Now.
I'm assuming Super Bowl 55 but great Patriots account on Twitter pointed out That was the two point conversion, um, in the Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl and will get to the Falcons in a minute, folks.
But that was that was the Brady passed to him and Ola Thio score the two point conversion.
You're seeing Tom incorporate those you know, plays those type of heads up moves that he's so great at doing.
Um, you know, great pass.
Just, you know, Chris.
Just giving, I think settling into this offense very well.
I want to give a little love to the defense because, let's face it, the second half Tampa Bay's offense stalled a little bit.
Um, you know, that didn't struggle to regain its rhythm in the second half.
They only scored 33 points.
Um, Shaquille Barrett had a tremendous game to tax one safety, three tackles for loss.
Um, you know, very, very good.
Uh, you know, uh, showing by the Tampa Bay defense is Well, I'll be it against the Broncos team that I know is banged up I know they were decimated, but these are the games you need to win.
If you're a team playing another team on the schedule, you can help.
Who's on your schedule? You can't help what happens to some of these teams with injuries and what not? You have to take care of business.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers did that yesterday.
Yeah, And look, I'm gonna sit here and keep talking.
Ah, talking up Antoine Winfield Jr.
But this this Defensor right check, Shaquille Bear picked up his first couple sacks.
He obviously had 19.5 last year.
So, you know, this is a defense that, you know, didn't get much praise.
I mean, look at the team itself.
Wasn't in the national spotlight until Brady walked in the door.
All of a sudden, there become, you know, headlines on excuse me on ESPN, all that stuff.
And that's just kind of the Brady effect in all this.
And now people are starting to see Wow, they actually have some really talented players on defense because, you know, this isn't just a team that threw together a bunch of players.
I mean, uh, Antoine Winfield Jr is obviously a starter because he's a rookie.
But the majority of this team is back from a year ago and, ah, year ago, despite the massive number of turnovers.
Think it was 41 altogether on offense, the rain defense was one of the best in the league, and they are all defense in general.
Was was pretty good.
So I think they're seeing the, um, the positive effect of having a guy like Tom Brady.
And of course I mean the efficiency of the offense.
Like, you know, Yeah.
Is it gonna be firing on all cylinders, Every single serious? No, of course not.
But it's gonna more often than not get the job done in most situations.
And that's going to lead to a lot of success because, you know, in the NFL, far too, too many times, too many teams that just inconsistent.
So, you know, like I said, it's good for, uh, you know, it's good for the Bucks.
Um, bad for the Saints And speaking off the NFC South, Let's get Thio debt.
That's right, the Atlanta Falcons E.
I had to find that clip because it's one of my favorite, but we all Simpsons and you know, well, you know, look, an episode came out.
What, like, 20 years ago? Uh, when or no, No longer than 98 you know, because this was right around the time they actually did go to the Super Bowl.
Um, before they blew a 28 to 3 lead.
And now in back to back weeks, they've blown 15 point plus fourth quarter leads.
And oh, I mean, I think you could have made an argument.
Ah, long time ago that Dan Quinn probably should be should move on.
And and again, I hate advocating for actually, no, I don't think I Okay, here's the thing I'm not advocating.
Obviously there's human lives involved in this, but I personally think Bill O Brien is bad at the job he's doing.
So if you're bad at your job, you should not have that job anymore.
Um, Dan Quinn, how many times can this team fail when you have a 99 point whatever winning chance toe win a game? Like uh huh.
To do that repeatedly, that speaks a lot to the coaching that speaks a lot to the leadership, and it speaks a lot to just the overall culture of this team.
I mean, they don't believe in themselves to hold the lead.
And when you blow back to back big leads like that late in the game and again, this team already had that stigma, you know, from the Super Bowl that hasn't washed away like, I mean, maybe it's faded.
Maybe there's not as many jokes about it, but there's enough.
And I know the Falcons hope Dan Quinn thinks about it.
Uh, Kyle Shanahan doesn't think about.
He has his own Super Bowl to think about now, Uh, that Ryan, I'm sure thinks about it.
So look at Oh, and three.
This season's over for Atlanta.
Um, I thought at best, they were the third best team in this division, mostly by virtue of the fact that the Panthers air having a new quarterback, new coach, all that stuff.
Um, I think right now I think the Bucks are clearly the best team in this division.
Uh, you know, we'll see what happens with the Saints as we go, you know, through the next couple of weeks.
But I mean, I think this I think the season's over for Atlanta.
I mean, how do you? How do you come back from a 13 with nothing like, There's nothing that tells me that they could turn the season around? Yeah, This is gonna be nearly impossible to turn this around.
And look, I mean, you have to look at Dan Queen.
You have to look at what's going on in the locker room, and it is time for a change.
And again, enough is enough.
It's time for a change.
The late, great Owen Hart being invoked this morning and all one would not be happy with no Mormons either.
He was not. He was. He was a winner.
He was a Blackheart, dammit.
But not in any case.
Right now, it z just not working.
It really isn't.
And neither one of us advocate for people losing their jobs.
But when you're talking about professional football team, you're talking about leading a professional football team on the field.
Someone has to be held accountable.
If it's not Dan Quinn, it's gotta be Dirk Koetter.
I mean, somebody has to be accountable for just an anemic performance by by the Atlanta Falcons jumping out to an early lead a showing they could put points on the board, but they're not holding it.
I mean, you know, the Elias Sports Bureau.
Um uh, release the staff that I think is so telling about this season for the Atlanta Falcons There now the first team in NFL.
Yeah, the first team to lose twice in one season while holding 15 plus point leads.
This is not back to back weeks.
We're only three weeks into the season to this isn't like week one in, like Week 12.
This is and I I just Yeah, and I disagree with you about the 28 to 3 jokes.
If they had, they owe their back. They're coming.
Yeah, they're back.
It's just like John Wick back nous, you know, that's exactly that.
It's like it's like that undertaker gift.
Yeah, you know, that's exactly what's happening with all these 28 3 jobs, just all coming back, and it's gonna be very tough for this team toe. Live that down.
Especially with everything that's going on, it's going to be in their psyche.
It's gonna be in their mind.
Um, you know, every time they get a lead, they're not gonna feel secure, and that is something that can really permeate and really, really ruin a team's chances of trying to contend.
And there is talent on this team, so something has to go.
Something has to give.
And unfortunately, in moments like this, it's usually a coaching change, so we'll see what happens.
We're still waiting word on that.
I don't know if Atlanta's gonna make a move sooner rather than later, but when you throw the ball five times and ran on, run it once in consecutive fourth quarter possessions after holding big leads, you can't expect to win like that. You just not.
That's not possible.
Speaking of 28 to 3, the ah, I'm coining it the worst lead in football.
Um, for those who who are hockey fans and chuckle every time some team goes up by two and someone says, Oh, it's the worst leading hockey and it's just kind of it just doesn't make sense.
It's just a silly saying that, people, that's what I'm getting at it.
Clearly, this is well, maybe for the Falcons, it's the worst lead that they could have.
But we almost almost so so so so of course, just seeing it happen again.
And the Buffalo Bills and I I will admit I did not watch as much of this game as I had hoped.
Obviously was on during the Patriots game, and at the time, my red zone that I was streaming, uh, there I was having some issues with my internet service.
So, you know, again, I wasn't able to pay as close attention to it.
But at one point, I saw them up 28 to 3, and I almost made a joke.
I almost made a joke, and I kind of wish I did, because the next time I saw, uh, anything about the game, I saw a tweet that said, The bills are about to blow 28 to 3 lead.
And I you know, I immediately found the game and was able to see, um, them do that, but for the moment, eventually, they obviously came back.
Uh, big conversion on a 3rd and 22.
you know, say what you will about the call and some people, a lot of people that disagree with it, and, you know, it is what it is.
But, you know, fortunately for the bills.
They did not fall into that, you know, Atlanta Falcons category.
And, uh, I would have liked it.
And trust me, I was rooting for it.
I was want it to happen.
Yeah, without question.
I mean, as the Patriots guy.
You definitely wanted that there.
There's there's no no doubt about it.
But, you know, credit.
Two credit to Josh Allen.
I mean, in the face of a lot of people laughing at him and calling him a passenger or also ran or the weakest link on this Buffalo Bills team.
Ah, lot of people thought this Buffalo Bills team would go assed faras.
Josh Allen was able to carry them, and he's proving you can carry the load, at least for the first three games.
I mean, we'll see if this continues to progress, but right now he looks like the real deal.
You know, this was a late game deficit.
Second consecutive week, he's faced that, and he leads an 11 play, 75 yard scoring drive.
Uh, you know, he did.
There are some negatives to it as well.
I mean, let's let's face it, you know, he did take some sacks.
He ran around a lot.
He did commit some penalties, but ultimately he did what it took to win the game.
Third straight 300 yard game gives them more than 1000 passing yards.
I don't think this hot start is a fluke.
I think he's really something special with this Buffalo Bills team, and that's that.
They're gonna be a very, very difficult team for whoever they play this year, whenever they play.
Now, it is, you know, concerning obviously especially on the defense toe, let up that kind of, ah, lead and as much credit as you want to give to the other ramps.
And you do have to give them a lot of credit.
Facing up 25 point deficit early in the third quarter.
My credit stinks, man.
I e can't really give them too much, so oh, I I get I get what you're saying.
All right? I got e figured it. Gotcha.
But, you know, I give them credit for Jared.
Golf Cooper, Robert Woods.
They started to come together.
These guys in the second half and really show that this offense may still have some firepower left in it, and the Rams were gonna be a tough out as well.
They're playing much better football than I gave them credit for.
Really thought we talked about it on Friday.
We thought they were kind of anomaly.
Or, you know, maybe a team that just wasn't, you know, living up to expectation.
But they I thought they played, you know, fairly well in this game, but it's a little concerning to the Buffalo Bills defense.
They have to make defensive adjustments.
They're going to have to take a look at what they're doing.
Maybe they got a little too far ahead and just, you know, woke up when it was too late.
But, um uh, impressive game.
But yeah, as a as a fan of the Patriots in the A F C East, you wanted to see that one go down on see those two records? A two on one tied.
Now Buffalo was three.
And oh, and again, they're gonna continue to be a tough team in this division.
You know, every time I hear the word anomaly, I think of Armageddon and you know, enough with this anomaly horse crap or whatever he says.
I think I PG 13 it right there. But it's okay.
It's just It's one of those random words that the second I hear it, I associate it with some sort of pop culture thing.
There's there's a few of them out there, but that's one of them.
Speaking of the Patriots, speaking of the Patriots and we always speak of the Patriots because that's that's what we like to dio uh, impressive when, uh, look, there's we're in A lot of these games were going to get into far more detail later in the week cause we're gonna have plenty of time to do it.
Um, you know, we're trying Thio, I wanna say, rushed through these games what we were trying to touch on as many as we possibly can in the time frame that we have today.
So, um, but yeah, look, I think New England, there's there's, you know, on the surface, maybe you come away saying, uh, you know, maybe maybe we're a little concerned with the defense, But I look at it like this, and I think it was very clear and obvious.
Their goal was to stop Waller.
I don't think I'm not going to say they weren't concerned with Josh Jacobs, but I think they felt like he was going to get his.
And we We've seen this strategy many times from the Patriots.
You know, focusing on the guy you feel is going to be the biggest difference maker.
And I think it was very clear from the get go on defense.
That was That was Waller for the Patriots and on the flip side.
And we've seen this 33 weeks in a row.
Um, you know, maybe a little slow start on offense, but he's making a habit of this camp.
Gets better and better throughout the game.
And by the time the game's over, he's just I mean, he's just playing really great football.
And I think he had another really, really good game.
Uh, this week, obviously there, you know, the interception wasn't wasn't a good throw there.
There was some, uh, miscommunication early, but like I said, by the end of the game, you almost forgot about that because he was playing so well and his big run Excuse me? His big run with them up.
Uh, with the 23 that was 23 10 or whatever it was, uh, you know that was big, and it really kind of started to close the door on any sort of potential Raiders come back.
And, of course, we saw them score a lot of points after that.
So, uh, Big one for the Patriots.
They went to the, you know, some adversity coming into this game. Uncer*****y.
The offensive line.
David Andrews going down.
Who was going to fill in? I went on record before the game.
I thought it was gonna be yelled pro Hold.
It goes to show you what I know, Joe. He moves over.
He slides into the center position, I thought played very well there yesterday.
You know, someone that hasn't played snaps it center in an NFL game, and he was capable of coming in and playing a very solid roll.
Michael on Wayne, who? The rookie right guard comes over, switches over and plays and plays left guard.
He only started one game for the Michigan Wolverines at left guard during his tenure at the University of Michigan.
So versatility again, Patriots showing next man up, going with your best player field and doing what they needed to dio.
But the old line played well yesterday.
Who? I'm gonna ask you a trivia question.
Like I think you're going to get this one.
I think you will.
Who recovered the fumble in the end zone and scored a defensive touchdown for the Patriots yesterday? Who wasn't my friend.
It would be my main man, Dietrich.
I was I was thinking about you when that was happening.
This is a big day for, uh, for for Mike's stable of guys going on yesterday.
Um, Adrian Phillips.
Uh, mostly with a with a read with a nice tackle early on.
Made a pretty good read on that one, Dietrich.
You know, making the play in the end zone.
Shilique Calhoun coming up huge yesterday, you know, between forced fumbles and tackles for a loss.
Um, he's been playing dividends guy that I'm happy to see succeed Chase, one of which obviously is emerging, I think, into one of the finer defensive players on the pass rush in the NFL.
He proved that again yesterday, playing the way he did in the secondary.
You mentioned taking away Darren Waller.
A lot of credit goes to Juwan Williams, the second year corner slash hybrid safety.
Who is becoming the tight end eraser in this offense and the defense? Excuse me and and opposing offenses, and he's been phenomenal.
He really, really has played very well.
Platoon coverage there with Stephon Gilmore covering Waller at times.
But you're right.
The Patriots know what you do well, they know what you do best, and they're not going to let your best beat you.
They can live with it if other players step up and are able to beat you.
But they're not going to let their main game plan, um, you know, or their their main option, you know, come back to beat you.
And have everybody say they just couldn't stop their best player.
Uh, the Patriots won't do it unless it's just unstoppable.
So, um, credit to New England Yesterday.
I thought the runners ran very well and you know, Cam Newton, I think, had his first subpar game, and I don't want to say, like, subpar, because I think Cam was very good yesterday, but he wasn't the driving force on offense.
He didn't carry that offense yesterday.
That offense was carried by Rex Burkhead by Sony Michelle, who does not suck e bloody blokes by the defenders because E just choked on my point e in the North.
Listen to the drivel, believe me.
In all actuality, I think it was a just a good team effort for the Patriots yesterday and against a very good Raiders team that hurt themselves a lot on the field that can't be denied us, for the Patriots are going to have to understand that the brakes they caught against the Raiders probably not the same breaks that they're gonna catch an arrow head against the defending chains coming up on Sunday.
But a good win for the Pats and solid win for you know, and it's funny.
Through three games, we've seen this offense when, well, e don't wanna say win way.
Talk about Seahawks game is obviously not as if they won, but there's a lot of good things to come out of this.
So, uh, they were successful.
Let's put it that way on offense.
Three different ways.
In three different games so far, we saw the first game a very subdued, I think feel it out offense, you know, let's let's see, you know what we have here.
Obviously, against the Seahawks, we saw Kam air it out.
Uh, this week he didn't really run that much.
I mean, he I mentioned the big, uh, second I was on second down, but it was a big run nonetheless that picked up a bunch of yards and kind of started to close the game out for the Patriots.
Um, but he was making right place.
He was making again the run game.
You got to credit the line when you got a credit, The running backs.
But, you know, it's it's about, you know, sort of how this quarterback sells it.
I mean, if if if you don't believe what the quarterback selling if you if you don't believe that the quarterback can hurt you in other ways and play action in the run game is not gonna work.
Um, but, you know, he again is showing that this team can still win in multiple ways.
It doesn't have to be, you know, Cam Newton getting 440 of the fourth that many of the yard.
So, uh, yeah, it was good to see.
I think you know, early on I think the Raiders looked good, but, you know, they didn't adjust.
We saw the Patriots adjust, especially on offense.
They kind of change things up a little bit, Um, coming out of half.
And and it showed.
I mean, it was very clear by the end of the game that the Patriots just the better team despite, you know, early thoughts going on that again.
The Raiders were like, Okay, they actually look pretty good.
And then, you know, hey, whatever.
Things kind of went downhill.
But you mentioned the Chiefs.
Obviously, we're going to get to that in a minute because they still have yet to play.
They play tonight against the Ravens against the reigning M v p.
And perhaps perhaps the better of the two quarterbacks just saying, Just saying Mike, I never bring it up.
So I figure it feels like I have to do it.
At least he's not saying.
I'm just saying, I'm just saying, um Seattle another, you know? Hey, another big win.
I think, uh, Russell Wilson is determined to make everyone forget about throwing touchdown passes on the one yard line.
I feel like he has, and I'm trusting I'm not discrediting it whatsoever.
I think it's foolish when people sit there and say, Oh, uh, Player X didn't throw a touchdown pass, although he threw it down to the one yard line or on the flip side.
Oh, I discredit that because he threw it from me.
No, it's It's a touchdown touchdown.
Offensive success is offensive success, but, um, it does.
It does feel like Russell Wilson is too going a lot from the one yard line.
And I wonder, I wonder if that's, um, you know, in the back of his mind every single time that that Super Bowl game.
But look, yeah, good game again for their offense.
Defense, I think, is, ah, concern.
I mean, let's let's be honest here.
I think Russell whistling and is clearly the M V P frontrunner.
I know it's it's foolish to to sit there and make list at this point in the season anyway, so you know, let's get that out of the way.
But for the sake of argument, if you were to ask me if you were to put it out, I think it's very clear who I was playing the best football.
However, the defense, however, I think this is what, three straight games going over 30 points or allowing over 30 points and and And look, you know, they played the Cowboys.
Really good offense played.
The Patriots were starting to learn it there, you know, a very good offense to and who they play in.
Uh, I'm drawing a blank.
They played New Orleans.
Thank no, no, no, no, no, no, not in week one.
No, I'm saying in week one, I was going back through their games because it was bucks in Saints Week one.
What are you doing, Mike? Come on.
Come on. You're not even ready for the show.
It's going well, we'll figure that out.
Anyone in the chat want to do the work for us? Br de facto producer and check that out.
Who did the Seahawks playing Week one.
We're drawing a blank because we're not that smart.
Um, but but yeah, like in Seattle, You know, uh, they're in a division at credit to the 40 Niners.
They want a pretty big game.
I think they scored a lot more than what we uh, both anticipated.
Um, but, you know, look, Seattle looks like the best team in that division.
Perhaps the best team in the NFC.
Like I said, though, I do think at the, you know, the defense is a concern.
Um, you know, I'll backtrack.
Maybe maybe I don't think they're the best team in the NFC.
I think Russell Wilson right now is playing the best of that position.
But, you know, I think there's a few other teams that could make the argument for being the best team and FC the Packers being one of them.
They had a big one, obviously, last night, I think.
The bucks, uh, certainly one of those teams, Um, I don't think the Saints are right now.
I think they have a lot of soul searching to do and figuring out what their team is gonna be like down the stretch.
Um, way already talked about the Atlanta Falcons.
They're clearly not in the mix.
I I think the jury is still out on the Rams, although, uh, it is it is curious.
You know, I I am starting to I don't know.
Up a little bit Thio what the Rams could potentially be because we talked about it on Friday.
I just don't have a lot of faith in them.
So UM, 38 to 25 victory for the Seattle Seahawks against the Atlanta Falcons.
And, of course, of course, E just covered last week.
It goes to show you what stays in my mind folks all about right now, all about the Raiders and the Chiefs.
It's like what? And so we're not here to talk about Colbert's.
That's what was going to say.
What, what percentage of your brain capacity.
Now, keep in mind, it's only half the size of a normal brain, and we share that half.
So it's like, yeah, back in.
I agree with you about Seattle's defense.
I mean, and you take a look at a Tlass night's game and are yesterday's game.
And now all of a sudden you've got Jamal Adams.
Probably, you know, possibly nursing an injury.
This is something to keep an eye on, something to watch out for.
So there's still, you know, a lot, too.
Be concerned about.
If you're Seahawks fan on the defensive side of the ball they're letting up an awful lot of points, and it's just to me.
It's just it's It's something that needs to be addressed if they're going to, you know, be able Thio to move forward and be a serious contender in the NFC because you're seeing teams to comes to that.
But offensively, this team looks looks solid.
And then, you know, the biggest reason why is Russell Wilson without question? Yeah, and and And, look, I mean, we we were both big Russell Wilson fans here, So we're going Thio Certainly appreciate what he does, but, you know Hey, look, this is a long season.
We're going to see how it plays out to see how this, uh, you know, eventually shakes out because again, I I think when when it's all said and done, if you're if you're gonna let me say the Seahawks boring myself apparently, uh, excuse me.
No, no, I just again Blackie caffeine up early.
All that's all that jazz.
Uh, if you're gonna tell me, say bucks and the Seahawks were to face off, you know, I would, you know, sit there and seriously consider giving the edge to the to the Bucks.
to buy despite them having the worst record, because I do think that their defense is really good.
And I think, Yeah, surely, uh, surely the bucks and Tom Brady can can go toe to toe with that offense.
So, um, so to me, I think that should should be concerning moving forward.
But they got plenty of time to figure that out to the Cowboys.
Jamal Adams with the groin injury, Jordan Brooks was the player I couldn't think of yesterday.
First round pick going out of the game with a knee injury, stuff to keep a nigh on because there are teams that are gunning for them.
You know, he's got the Miami Dolphins coming up this week who looked a lot better.
Say what you will about the Dolphins, but they can move the ball.
If they get hot, they could be a very difficult team to beat.
So, yeah, if I'm Seattle, I'm keeping a sharp eye on the defense this week.
Adjustments are going to be made in practice s Oh, yeah, we have about, you know, just under 10 minutes or so to go left in the show.
I don't think that made any sense whatsoever was that was that English, Mike.
Okay, all right.
It was English words, but, you know, Monday night and I definitely want to I didn't want to do so in good faith.
Without things that this guy has done, including myself.
I wondered out loud after Week one, whether or not the Patriots may have made the right decision whether Stephen just didn't have it anymore on his hip, he made six field goals yesterday.
That's a perfect record.
51 54 55 yarders among them.
Just a great performance.
And, wow, great guys in the name in the league.
And I could not be happy to see this guy.
He humbled just one of the great guys out there.
He has helped to cover him in New England.
He has helped me propel my team to victory over Ross Jackson.
Uh, 2025 points.
So I'm glad you brought that up, because it gives me one more opportunity to bring up the fact that I'm gonna win this week, and I'm gonna beat uh, one half of the co hosting team of of Dylan and Ross of Dylan Ross.
A sports, uh, not believe it or not, I'm actually not that low scorer this week, folks.
Okay, actually, uh, c j my scores in the nineties and unexpected to increase that much E.
All right. All right.
This is like that, you know? Hey, no, I'm I'm 54 and three quarters, all right? You know, I'm not five four e I've got there is that she was telling me there's a chance, but no, There's no chance on being Dylan, folks, I just may be able to actually, like, hold my head up high, but, uh, there were two teams that do have lower scores than, uh than myself, one of which is the team of our good friend Brian Snow.
We're kind of bringing up the rear on this one, but, uh oh.
C J sweats at a lower score than me, too, So yeah. Okay.
All right. There you go.
I will try to save my ranting and raving about my homes in Jackson for tomorrow when I will be mawr, Right? Uh, than I was today.
Um, it's just more evidence.
T to my point, is what I'm saying.
Um I do like the Ravens in this game, and not just because again, there's bias.
You know, Obviously I there could be there some bias there, But I'm just looking at it from just what we've seen through two weeks.
I think the Ravens have have played exceptionally well on both sides of the ball through the first two weeks.
I think Lamar Jackson has been better than Patrick Mahomes threw two weeks again.
So right off the bat, you're talking about just one team that's been better than the other.
And now they're both too.
And also we're splitting hairs here.
But, um, I like the Ravens in this game, and I do.
You know, I do wonder if this starts to maybe, uh, shift a little more of the conversation because I do anticipate that Lamar Jackson is going to outplay Patrick Mahomes.
Um I mean, he's gonna have to to win this game.
I mean, that's just kind of obvious.
Usually when the quarterback out places, you know, counterpart, then yeah, generally you're you're set up pretty well.
Not in all cases where you remember Peyton Manning, um, from 2015 but that's beside the point.
Um, but yeah, I I like this game a lot.
I mean, I'm excited to see it.
I'll be excited to see I I think it's gonna be high scoring, uh, from the Ravens side, I do think maybe that the Chiefs, you know, maybe put up, you know, 21 24 points.
I just I Something just tells me that this is gonna be a Ravens very much like the Patriots Ravens game last year.
You know what I mean? Where it was obviously hyped up and build up the patriots rate.
No, um, there's a lot of confidence in the pages going in, but, you know, by the time you got going, you're like, Wow, this Ravens team is just a power horse, and I think that's what they are right now.
Powerhouse power horse.
That doesn't make sense.
Uh, so I and I think that kind of carries over now, is this gonna be what it is? You know, six weeks from now? I don't know.
I'm just I'm basing what I've seen so far from both teams, and I think the Ravens have been significantly better, you know, Especially especially at the quarterback position that maybe I'm I'm piling on a little bit, but eso I'll hand the uh, handed over to my friend Mike before I give my score. Prediction.
No, I like the Ravens in this one as well.
We'll give our scores in a minute, but I think the Ravens they're going to be able to limit the big plays for Kansas City.
That's usually the biggest problem with any team playing the defending champions.
Limit the big plays.
Uh, Baltimore has the cornerbacks to be able to do it.
Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters.
They're gonna have their hands full tonight, but they're going to need to have their best game.
And and I think they're up to the challenge.
Uh, loss of Tavon Young for the season could have an impact on this game.
So Humphries gonna need to step it up.
You're probably going to see somebody like Jimmy Smith or an Anthony Averett come up for Baltimore and try to make those plays try to fill those shoes left behind by Tavon Young.
Um, biggest key for the Ravens, and I agree with you.
I think that's how they're gonna be able to win this game dominate the time of possession.
The best defense against Kansas City is to keep them off the field.
You just want to keep Patrick Mahomes and that high flying offense off of the field.
I think that Lamar Jackson is going to be able to grind it, be ableto work out, you know, areas where they collect first downs and keep that Chiefs offense off the field.
Look for a heavy dose of Mark Ingram tonight. J. K.
Dobbins. Gus Edwards.
I say Play them all.
Give them all carries.
You saw the Patriots do it yesterday with multiple running backs.
That can hurt you in a lot of different ways.
Don't be afraid to mix it in.
I think Harbaugh does that.
If they could do that and maybe even force a turnover, be aggressive thing.
I think that the Ravens definitely have a good shot to take this one tonight, and that's why I like them.
I think they're going to be able to do it.
Well, what do you got for a score? Uh, actually, I think it's gonna be a little more low scoring than people would believe.
I think points get put up I like Baltimore by a field goal in this 1. 24 to 21.
Um and I do think they get a couple turnovers in this game s So I I think that's gonna make a big difference.
And, you know, at the end of the day, like I said, I think it's going to maybe start more of a conversation.
So we're gonna leave it at that.
We got you know, we've got a few minutes left, so we've got to say our goodbyes and tell you that we will be back tomorrow.
We're gonna have our sit with sap.
We'll probably talk a little bit.
Obviously, about this game.
Um, no, I'm sure we'll have a spirited discussion about the quarterback position.
