Sportscaster Teddy Solomon here with Don's Insiders and I got another video for you guys.
This is one that a lot of your W C C fans are probably waiting for.
I know I've been waiting to talk about this.
It's it seemed that I believe to be the most underrated team in college basketball other than maybe Harvard.
But Harvard is getting a lot of attention.
Uh, this is my team that I think could shock everyone, even make a run and then see double a tournament.
And it's peppered S O Pepper.
Dine is a team that is bringing back a lot of players, only lost a couple players, and they're bringing back their key three guys.
Really? So that's Koestler, Edwards and Cam.
The two brothers Cam Edwards, being 1/5 year, a fifth year player there because of some injuries, redshirt seasons that he's still eligible to play, decided to do his grad year there.
Edwards, being a sophomore now having come in, played a phenomenal first season.
A lot of people say he's a lot better than Cam Edwards, actually, and then we've got Colby Ross.
Colby Ross is one of the best players in the league.
He is absolutely phenomenal.
I think he's, uh, he's going to be one of the best players in college basketball When he's a junior, a senior.
I expect him to put up more than 30 30 points, more than 20 points again this season.
And I really expect big things from this Pepper dine team.
So what do we didn't do right now? We're gonna go through Pepper behind schedule.
Take a look at this.
Take a look at who they're playing this season and how it shapes up for them to be able to put together a compelling resume to possibly make the tournament.
I think the Pepper Dine is going to get in at large bids Van CW tournament.
I think they're very good team.
Uh, and just kind of.
At first glance, I'm impressed by their schedule.
Honestly, I think it gives them enough chances toe make a statement to the committee and show that they are a team that could make the NC double a tournament.
So with that, let's get started.
First game for Pepper Dine November 5th.
That's a game that, uh, that is very, very interesting for me.
Pepper Dine plane at Cal.
So Cal obviously is at the bottom of the Pac 12.
I think Cal is gonna finish second to last in the Pac 12.
I think Stanford will finish last, but plane at a Pac 12 team is never easy.
So pepper dine is going to show what they're worth in the skin.
Uh, Cal is, of course not great, as I said.
But Kessler, Edwards, Cam Edwards, Colby Ross really need to go off in this game and show that Pepper Dine is is no team to look over this NC double season, then peppered and goes back to Malibu.
And they take on U C Irvine for you guys.
You don't know about UC Irvine.
They are a good team.
They're not gonna be is good this year as they were last year because they lost Max Hazard, of course, but U C Irvine did great and Nancy Tournament.
They played a Kansas State team that was a little weak because they didn't have Dean wait, but they still play phenomenally.
And then they almost beat organ in the second round of the N.
Double determined I was there for that game, so u C Irvine really is a good team there in any tournament caliber team.
So Pepper Dine gets another chance to prove their worth in that game, and I'm really looking forward to that one as well.
So then they take on Cal State Northridge at Cal State Northridge.
Should be an easy win for Pepper time, but you never know.
Then at Abilene Christian, Abilene Christian is another team that is a good mid major team.
They had a very good record last season.
If I recall correctly, Pepper Dine actually took them down and ended their undefeated season at that point.
So Abilene Christian they could be.
They could be relatively good.
And a road game at Apple in Christian is no easy feat, especially when you've got a game right after that.
Three days later at USC.
That's their biggest challenge of the season at this point in their schedule.
Playing at USC again, a true road game against the Pact 12 and USC isn't like Cal.
USC is a team I expect to finish in the middle of the conference.
I think they could even break into the top half of the conference so that is not an easy game.
And Pepper dine really can make a statement.
If they could pull off a road win against USC and I see through, we'll get through this in a second.
But through their next games of the next game is against Sacramento State at home should be a relatively easy win through that sacrament of state game on November 23rd.
I would not be shocked if Pepper Time were undefeated.
I think that they probably will lose a game between the home game against UC Irvine Road game in Abilene Christian Road game against USC.
But they're all winnable games, the toughest one being that game at USC.
They're not gonna be favored in that one.
But these are all winnable games, and I think Pepper Dine could be undefeated going into their game against Arizona at the Wooden Legacy Tournament.
So that's gonna be a good game played in Anaheim.
So it's not quite a home game, but it's pretty close by to where Pepper dines at over in Malibu and that's gonna be a tough game.
Arizona is really good for you guys who don't know Nico Mannion.
He was a phenomenal high school player.
He's going to Arizona, Arizona, also bringing in a lot of other great players, and I expect them to win the Pac 12 this season.
They're my favorite to win the Pac 12 and I would say a lot of a lot of people's favorites to win the Pac 12 so that's gonna be a really, really challenge.
That's gonna be tough.
You win that game and you're really telling the committee that you want to be in that NC double tournament? Uh, so we'll see how they how they fare in that tournament.
You know, they may be able to pull off the upset against Arizona.
If I had to say my prediction for the biggest upset, uh, biggest upset that I'm willing to call right now of any team I think peppered I could beat Arizona.
I really do think Everton could beat Arizona.
I think Pepper dine is a phenomenal team.
I think they're very, very well coached and I also say I think that there's a lot of camaraderie on that team just from talking to the guys and from and from seeing them play and seeing how Well, they did in the W C. C tournament.
I think it faced a healthy.
They're gonna be very good.
So that takes us to December 6.
Right now, we're just gonna be talking about Pepper.
Turns out of conference schedule will get their conference schedule another time.
But I wanted to get to this right now.
So they play Idaho State on December 6th at home.
Easy win, in my opinion, then Central Arkansas at home again, relatively using wind for them, then Portland State.
Portland State has been good in years past, so it's definitely not again to completely look over because Portland State is a relatively a relatively solid, been major team.
But I think that's gonna be another home win for Pepper dine going into their next home gin, this along home stand against Northern Arizona.
I saw Northern Arizona this past year at USF. There.
Very beautiful TV.
They're not great.
I don't expect them to be much better this season, and I think pepper time wins that one relatively easily.
That takes them into their last game of this of this out of conference schedule, and that's at San Jose State.
Not an easy game playing true road games and college basketball is always hard.
But San Jose State, at times last season showed that they could play a little bit.
I saw it most against Stanford, a team that had two N b A level guys in Josh Armand, Casey Akpala, San Jose State almost beat them.
That was the game before Stanford came the USF, and it was very clear at that point that Stanford was down.
They were down from the season before.
They had a rough season.
But it was also clear that San Jose State can play with solid teams, so I think that could be a tough game.
But I think Pepper Dine is looking good through this out of conference schedule, the hardest games being Arizona and at USC.
But there are no games that are not winnable for them.
They could very well cruise through this cotton this out of conference schedule with maybe one or two losses.
I wouldn't be surprised about that, so we'll see what Pepper Dine has in store.
But Pepperdine's a serious contender this season and they are my most underrated team in college basketball.
Thanks for watching guys.
