I know, but there we go.
What's going on? Everybody? This is Ray Route and welcome to sports Caster news and our week three of our NFL Bold take predictions, pre games.
Whatever you wanna call it.
I am here with the usual suspects.
I got my man Lawrence.
Oh, and I got my man Joe New bone.
I got my man. Keith McPherson.
Gentlemen, we are going into what could be the best week of football this season with, And I hate saying that week, threes, air Much must wins, but there's some must wins on the table today.
There's some matches that I think you're going to determine pretenders and contenders lots to get into.
Joe is with us till 11.
So let's get this going so we can.
But I want to start with our featured story.
Maybe we could take a couple minutes each and get through it.
But there's some people now who are starting to question whether the presence of Jalen Hurts is an issue in Philadelphia.
Whether it's getting under Carson winces skin, whether it's in the back of his mind, whether he believes he has to perform because the Eagles have looked bad.
I'm sure you guys all have your opinions on this Philadelphia Eagles team.
Is this just typical Carson Wentz or is this the pressure of Jalen Hurts? There is a man here who probably follows Philly a little bit more than the rest of us.
So, Keith, I'm gonna turn this to you first and get your impeccable knowledge.
What do you think about this? Is Jalen hurts in the back of the mind of Carson Wentz? Not at all.
I mean, Carson Wentz is the guy.
He was the top pick.
He is adored or was adored in Philadelphia for some time.
But when you go out and you use a second round pick on a Jalen hurts, he's more in the back of the minds of Eagles fans.
You know these guys, The Philly fans are ridiculous.
These guys aren't satisfied with anything they haven't been satisfied with.
Once in a while, they're not even satisfied, satisfied with their Super Bowl winning coach.
They're looking for answers.
And when you draft a guy like Jalen hurts and he's sitting there kind of waiting in the wings, they think that's a potential answer I don't think Jalen Hurts is an answer.
I mean, he's a good athlete.
He played great in college.
Uh, we didn't have any pre season this year, so we didn't get to see what he had in pre season.
But if anyone in Philadelphia thinks Jalen hurts somehow saves this team or comes in and changes something for this team, Uh, but I would love to see it as a Dallas fan experiment.
Run the Wildcat.
Put both of them in.
Ray, you said the two quarterbacks systems on the way.
We need to see when it hurts in their Why not do it this week? Absolutely, man, it's something I want to see.
Joe, what's your thoughts on this? I kind of agreement, but yeah, you know, I'm kind of with Keith here, man.
I was waiting for the ray prediction to come true where we see the double quarterback system but hasn't happened just yet, So, yeah, I don't think it's in Carson Wentz, his head necessarily.
I think he's just like I have to play better.
I don't think he's worried about having Jalen hurts his his backup.
Um, yeah, I agree.
I think it's more the fan base.
That air. Just frustrated.
Being Owen to once hasn't looked good.
And they're thinking that Jalen Hurts can come in and change that.
But I don't think that's the case.
Uh, I think you just got to ride it out, man.
You know, you just kind of got to ride it out. You paid.
You paid Carson Wentz the big money, and, uh, you got to see how it works out, man.
You know, just because you drafted a quarterback in second round doesn't necessarily mean anything.
So, Lawrence, what about you, buddy? No, I don't think it has anything to do with it, either.
I mean, quarterbacks have bad stretches, just facts, and the eagles have been questionable coming in.
In my opinion, I I figured that they needed to add a few extra things in there in case somebody got hurt and just isn't working out to their talks about two quarterback system that they're going to do it.
This is the week to do it.
I mean, they're going up against the Bengals.
So, you know, if you if you're gonna try something new and not know if it's gonna work or not, this would be the time to do it.
So see, I don't see this is Jalen Hurts and Carson Wentz his head in the sense of this kid's gonna come in and take my job.
But I think what could be in Carson Wentz his head is if I go down and get injured again and this kid comes in and performs, perhaps Philadelphia starting to look at my salary and thinking we're paying the kid, Ah, lot of money to be injured every single season, and I think that has to be in the back of his mind.
I'm also gonna put on top that the Philadelphia Eagles offensive line has been absolutely horrible this season, and that's going to contribute to the downfall.
As for the Eagles fan base, listen, sometimes winning can do worse for a fan basis psyche than it can be losing and being a perpetual loser your entire existence, like they were in Philadelphia, always being the bride's maid.
Always get in the sisters kiss.
Don't forget, I remember in 2017 when they defeated the Patriots.
It was the start of the Eagles won Super Bowl dynasty.
They were the next super dynasty in the NFL that they could do this with Nick Falls.
Imagine what they're going to do with Carson Wentz.
Andre, we're two years removed.
I mean, no offense, Thio, Keith, but you know, any team could have made the playoffs in the in the NFC East last season.
You know, the way everybody performed and played on.
It's been a major disappointment.
You know, you take a team like like the Ravens, who are up and coming.
The fan bases mindset is always gonna be.
This team is good. Look what's next.
Look what's next. Look what's next.
If the Ravens win the Super Bowl this year and you think you've got a dynasty starting like they think in Kansas City right now, right, because they're dynasty started in their minds.
If you go to three years without a Super Bowl, all of a sudden you start wanting answers of why haven't we won multiple championships? As if winning multiple championships is an easy thing to do? Now I get being a Patriot fan.
That's a bit of an ignorant comment, and Keith, nodding his head, is ignorant as a cowboy fan because of the nineties.
But it's not a thing.
Dynasties aren't every there's a reason they're called dynasties.
There's usually one dynasty per era, right? So but the Ravens haven't been perpetual losers, but Philly has, and I think that's where we are now.
So why don't we start with the Philadelphia Eagles today? Gentlemen, they are facing and hosting the Cincinnati Bengals.
Both teams are going to both teams looking to get their first win of the season.
You got Joe Burrow.
You got Carson Wentz, who wins this game.
Keith, let's start with you.
Thank you for coming to me first.
I love this matchup.
I'm taking the Bengals plus four.
This is the panic button game.
This is the absolute panic game for Philly in Philly and the Philly fans, right? The Bengals, if you remember week to played on Thursday, so they've had a couple extra days of rest.
They've hopefully had a couple extra days of studying film, and I think those guys have a chip on their shoulder where they don't want to go into because of the games they've played in that relatively close losses.
I think Joe Burrow still got something to prove.
This guy said he ain't lost more than two games in all of his career, from Little League to pop Warner Toe High school to college to the NFL.
So I look at the Eagles like, Hey, you guys their favorites again.
I think they've been favorite.
For some reason.
They were favored the last two weeks.
They were favored against the Rams.
They were favorite against the Washington football team, their favorite again.
They're at home again, and I think they're in danger here because the Bengals they could score points.
I don't know what if this Eagles lying can hold up if they can score points and move the ball effectively.
If whence turns it over, it's over.
I like the Bengals to come in there and shake some stuff up.
Look at the Eagles is Hey, they know their endured die territory here if they go all in three seasons over.
But I'm still taking the Bengals because it's plus four.
I think, you know, I think it's gonna be a close game, and maybe the Bengals even win it.
I'm gonna go to new Pastor Thomas, now, who rightly predicted the Miami Dolphins over the Jacksonville Jaguars went, what 15 or 16 games last week, 14 15 and one.
Who's winning this game? Does Joe Burrow get his first win as an NFL player? Or is Carson Wentz show people that Jalen Hurts isn't in his head? Hold on, Let me let me take a look at my crystal ball really quick.
You see, there's a reason they call me Nuestra Thomas.
Everybody was laughing at me for picking the Dolphins over the Jags and look at what happened.
Uh, no, But I love this week, man, because you see a bunch of Owen two teams coming in and they are desperate.
They need that first win, right? There's a bunch of teams that want to make a playoff run that haven't lived up to expectations that are Owen to right now, and they feel they can't be owing to.
And I feel like both of these teams, even though the Bengals don't really have playoff aspirations, Joe Burrow is obviously he wants to be a winner, so he's desperate for that win.
The Eagles air desperate because they know they're in a division with, you know, the Cowboys, the Giants in Washington, eso they still have a chance to win the division.
Eso, they're desperate.
But from what I've seen from both of these teams, man, I feel like the Bengals wanna win mawr just from the way that they play the intangibles.
I feel like the Eagles just come out flat.
They come out looking dead.
They're just I don't know, man.
I don't see it in these Eagles, and I think that this might be another loss for them, even though they are desperate.
But I think that it might be a high scoring game.
That's what I'm predicting.
I think it's gonna be a high scoring game, and I think that Joe Burrow will come out on top and he will throw over five yards. Ray.
So don't you worry about that.
Alright, Lawrence, I'll give you last word, so I'll take this now.
Uh, I think Joe Burrow does get his victory today, but I don't think it's Joe Burrow game.
I think that this is a different Joe on that team and that's Mr Mix, and I think that he's gonna be running the football like crazy.
I think they know if they wanna have any success going forward.
They need to get this guy going.
Green doesn't drop any passes today and plays a solid game.
I think that they I think that when it comes to the passing game, the Bengals will take what the Eagles give them.
So I do think it's gonna be an 8 to 10 yard pass per past type of game.
I don't see them taking a lot of shots downfield.
That being said, the Eagles fault 00 and three and Cowboy fans could just troll for the next e Don't know.
14 games. Lawrence.
Final word on this game.
Well, the Bengals or giving up five yards per carry, Uh, defensively to the run game.
And really Philadelphia without Al Shaun, Geoffrey without Jalen Reagor, Who are they gonna lean on? It's gonna be mild.
I Honestly, I I'm gonna go against all I think the Philadelphia Eagles gonna win this game because Miles Sanders is gonna run and for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Do you know Adkins ain't there? He's out this game, so he's not gonna be in the middle of that line.
Stopping the run game.
I think buildup equals are going to use Miles Sanders quite a bit you've seen it last year where Miles just has breakout games.
Every once in a while, it just blows up a game.
I think this is a game that it actually could happen because I mean Philadelphia.
The only person on their defense that is questionable is Cox.
But, I mean, they still have Malik Jackson, Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett on that defensive line, and I just I I'm going to give them, like you say, Joe, the Eagles air desperate.
I think the desperately want to come in here and just try to be methodical and just beat him down.
Uh, just to make sure that they get a win that way.
That's the only way I could see it's gonna happen.
Alright, eso Look, Lawrence is going against the grain here on SportsCastr news, but going with the majority.
According to ESPN, 75% of users in the pick and pool are taking the Philadelphia Eagles.
Gentlemen, I'm gonna put this out here.
I'm gonna be cognitive times.
We do lose Joette.
11 were already at 10. 17.
Eso Let's try to keep our things to 30 seconds per game.
I know it sucks, but we got a lot of games we've only been through one.
Um, next game we got going on here is the Chicago Bears to a no against the Oh, and to Atlanta Falcons.
And really, that could be reversed if they have a little bit of luck, either ways.
Uh, Lawrence, I'll start with you.
Who do you got going? This game? Ah, I don't know. Sorry.
It's gonna be really difficult, because I don't know what to expect from Atlanta.
I'm gonna have to say Atlanta, though, Um Aziz Muchas Mitchell.
Travis Key has looked semi competent thus far.
I just I don't know.
I think that Atlanta's offense should be able to put up enough points to keep the bear from being able to score.
Even with that great Bears defense.
I'm going with the gray and I'm gonna go with the Atlanta Falcons.
I think that they've showed me enough tough loss in Dallas.
Couple bad breaks.
Um, I thought they played really well against Seattle.
I'm gonna take Atlanta, Joe.
I'll give you last word.
So, Keith, I'll go to you.
Who do you think's gonna win this game? The Falcons air better than their record.
Their better than that embarrassing loss to the Cowboys.
They should not have lost that game to the Cowboys.
I still don't believe it happened.
I've gone back and looked at the stats and the plays and the Falcons.
I mean, like, they they have a few wide receivers now.
Calvin Ridley is established himself as a guy.
Give me the Falcons.
Uh, I don't think the Bears really have it on offense.
I know they have a good defense.
Give me the Falcons to cover that three at home and stop the bleeding a little bit.
All right, news the drama.
Joe, screw that.
Listen, I don't feel good about picking the Falcons, because Atlanta, let me tell you guys something.
This is the last time I am trusting you guys.
If you blow this, that's it.
I'm not picking you anymore this season I said the same thing about Dallas last week and they somehow pulled out that miraculous.
Um, shouldn't have happened when, um but yeah, the Falcons, I do think that overall they are a better team.
Matt Ryan's the better quarterback.
They have good receivers.
They put up a lot of points and that should be enough to to fend off the Chicago Bears.
Should be keyword. It should be.
I go with the Falcons and we're going with the majority.
73% on ESPN are going with Atlanta now.
The next game is, I think, a must win, but not from a record perspective, but trying to separate the Pretenders from the contenders.
I'll start with this game, the L A Rams going to Buffalo to play the Bills.
Both teams have looked mightily imp impressive to start their season.
I would say the Rams had a tougher schedule than the Buffalo Bills.
Both teams, I think, want to pull out a victory today.
Toe prove that they are for Riel because both those teams are still being questioned.
Buffalo, especially by Joe.
With that being said, as good as Buffalo's looked.
And though I believe they probably have the better roster, I'm giving this to Sean McVeigh, and I'm giving and I'm doing it because of Sean McVeigh.
I'm giving it to the Rams.
Uh, Joe, start with you.
I'm also rolling with the Rams, and it's because Ray told me that the weather is gonna be decent, right? If it was freezing or snowing, I would probably go with the Bills here.
But since it's gonna be like 75 degrees, that that was the deciding factor for me.
But, yeah, I think this is a proven game for both teams.
We're going to see who is for Riel.
If the Bills win, they'll have officially proven to me that they are for Riel.
If the Rams win, then I was right and I thought because I was high on the Rams before the season, But, yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to see this game because it's it's going to tell us a lot about both of these teams, for sure.
So Lawrence looks ready to bust with scenes.
So I'm gonna make him wait again.
Keith, we got going this game.
Malcolm Brown should be back.
Healthy should be ready to go.
I also look at this game as being low. Scoring.
The over under is at 47.
I'm gonna go with the under, but I think the Rams are a better coach team.
They've got two of the best defensive players in the league.
I'm really interested in seeing Stefon Diggs and Jalen Ramsey matchup.
Give me the Rams to win this one. Close.
All right, Lawrence, I don't care if Jalen Ramsey covers him all day.
Is he's not digs.
Ain't gonna get that many passes.
The Rams are pretending bigger than snot right now.
Okay, They have a they give up five yards a carry running the football in good weather.
I mean, so buffalo is gonna walk down there.
What does Buffalo wanna do? Run the stinking football? They're gonna run it down.
The Rams throat man, Buffalo Buffalo's got this, All right.
Lawrence is going with the Bills, ignoring all the bad things that their defense has done the last two weeks.
I like how you throw numbers for one team, not the other. Alright.
Against, like, a really bad Miami Dolphins team.
Um, And Lawrence, if I were you, I would I Maybe you fight that, but because they beat Jacksonville.
Alright, next game we got going on, we got the football team in Washington taking on those browns in Cleveland.
Both teams are one and one.
Lawrence will start with you.
Who you've got winning this game.
I'm at the point where I don't care anymore.
I hope Washington wins because right now, we've been waiting for years to see these Browns team come out here and do something, and they just haven't hasn't happened.
So I'm actually hoping that that chase Young and and that young offense over there in Washington actually does something This game.
Um What? I just can't pick the browns right now.
One thing I did forget to say is the Rams Bills game.
60% of ESPN users were taking Buffalo.
The 60 to 40 I think, is the tightest spread.
Maybe next to the Monday nighter of who's picking who? Um okay, Yeah, I think that Cleveland's gonna win this game.
Um, I think that Washington in the next two years is gonna be a good team with some of the key pieces they have and Ron Rivera on that team.
I think Cleveland knows they need to win this game.
They can't fall wanted to with, especially with the Ravens playing the Chiefs and the possibility that there could be a loss, You know what I mean? Um, to get that chance, but with both the Ravens and the Steelers sitting there, too.
And right now, they can't go down the one and two or they're gonna be in a lot of trouble trying to catch us.
Uh, Keith moved torno Joe, go to you all give Keith last word.
All right? Yeah, I agree with you.
I got Cleveland and this one.
I don't feel good about it, obviously, because it's Cleveland.
It's the Browns.
Uh, yeah, but I think that the Browns have a good old line which should be able to at least mitigate some of the pressure that chase Young and all those boys can bring on Baker Mayfield.
I also would like to see them use more of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
I know they used them a lot last week, but you got to use them.
Or like, Andi, you've got to use more play actions.
You gotta use more rollouts, more bootlegs for Baker because that's where he succeeds as we saw against the Bengals.
Um, Now, this brown secondary has been pretty atrocious, And, uh, but Dwayne Haskins has also not been too hot either, So I don't know.
I don't know what one's gotta break one.
So but I'm gonna roll with Cleveland, man.
I think that they are the better team and they should win this game. But we'll see.
All right, Keith.
I think the Browns can win it, but that's seven point spread is a lot for me, for their team that I mean, they beat the Bengals by five.
I just don't I don't know.
I don't see where they're going to score all those points.
They do need to run the ball.
It should be Nick Chubb.
Kareem Grant Odell Beckham Jr came out this week and said, You know, it's just gonna be one of those seasons that it's not a number of season for me.
I feel like he's already conceding the whole season.
So I like this past three years e like Washington to challenge them.
Chase Baker, Mayfield around getting his head a little bit.
I'm taking Washington plus seven, but I think the Browns could figure out how to win it.
Still, to be fair, to be fair, my brain says the Brown should win this all day, every day, right.
But there's just something about this game that that's telling me there is an upset brewing so Lawrence has just done as he set himself up completely that he can't be wrong because Cleveland wins.
He's gonna say, I knew they were gonna win.
I just you know, I said it, but if and if they don't win in Washington's, he can turn around and go Look, I called it.
I told you it was gonna have I I did pick the the Redskin, or I'm sorry.
The Washington football team, the football team on the straight up, pick up.
82% of ESPN users were taking the Cleveland Browns today.
All right, now we got a team who I thought was gonna be pretenders, but I think could be legit contenders taking on a team who I said wouldn't be contenders.
And sure enough, they're not the Tennessee Titans air facing the Minnesota Vikings.
Keith, I'll start with you who you've got winning this game.
I have no faith in Kirk Cousins, Dalvin, Cook and the Vikings.
They paid those guys and they got a pretty new stadium and all I think about what the Vikings is that their their window has passed, you know, their window of being in the playoffs and being one of the top teams in the NFC has passed.
I know they're not going to a straight rebuild, but I think the Titans go in there and they just play him tough.
I think they play smash mouth football.
They run the ball, I punch him in the mouth.
I think, um, I think who's hurt for the Titans? A.
So I mean, that's a big loss for them.
Hopefully, Corey Davis could step up because they're gonna have to score points.
But, uh, Tennessee is favorite.
Yeah, I gotta go.
I'm taking Tennessee toe win and cover that 2.5.
Lawrence, man, I've said all season I the Vikings ain't going nowhere this year.
And, uh, yeah, what happened last week in Indianapolis proved that uh, yeah, this is Tennessee.
There are much better.
Well rounded, well coached of just on the right path to going forward.
So I got Tennessee all day on this one.
I'm gonna go with the Titans as well.
I don't trust Minnesota.
I've said they were gonna be the worst team in that division in Detroit to screwed me on that, but it's still pretty close.
Joe, I wish I could make an argument for the Vikings here, but I just can't.
I mean, they're stuck with Captain Kirk.
That offensive line is still horrible.
It's been horrible for like, the last decade.
It feels like, um, the Titans defensive line is great.
They have a good, solid overall defense and the thing with the Titans, it seems like they've been learning how toe win these close games.
You saw it last week against the Jags, and you saw it week one against the I forgot who they played week one, but they it was a close game and they came out on top.
But that's the reason that they're always nine and seven because they can't win the close games so good for them.
But, yeah, I'm rolling with the Titans.
The Vikings air just bad straight up, all right, in, 77% of people on ESPN are taking Tennessee.
Alright, guys, I'm gonna hold all of our games till the end.
We'll do our four games at the end, so we'll go to this next game here.
Two teams that are beat up beat up. Beat up.
One team is one and 11 team is going to the San Francisco 40 Niners are traveling to New York to face those New York Giants.
Um, I'll start with Joe this time.
Who you taking this game? Okay, Yeah.
I mean, we got to go with the 40 Niners, man.
The Giants are just bad.
Um, they have no say Kwan Barkley now he was.
I mean, he wasn't doing much, but he was the whole offense.
And you guys know my feelings on Daniel Jones.
How I'm not a Daniel Jones believer, and I like it even less that he doesn't have a running game to back him up.
So the defense sucks.
I see no reason.
I know the Niners have no team, but I still think that they should be able to win this game without their team.
Daniel Jones bully not a J and the Jones believer, but has already crowned Joe Burrow is the king of the NFL.
Listen, I think both teams were beat up.
I believe that the Giants are a better team without shaquan, Barkley, Right now that's not a knock on Barkley, but I'm gonna use Adam's point, who backed me up the other night.
Sometimes when Europe bad team, a great player can actually hinder you because you play your entire through team through a great player.
He's a giant man.
Of course, he's going to say that What we saw against the Steelers last week was after shaquan Barkley went out, they actually had to change their game plan to moving the ball to anybody but sick.
Want Barkley? Um, look, there's a lot of things happening in San Francisco right now.
I think that team is shook up a little bit.
I think that coaching staff is shook up a little bit.
Not only are you coming trying to fight that Super Bowl hangover, you're also going to fight these injuries.
I'm going with the upset and I'm taking the Giants in this game.
Who's he gonna throw to Brandon? I uke every day.
Every down, Maybe Mohammed Sunu.
I mean, DeBose gone, George kettles Gone heard is Gon Everybody's gone and who's gonna throw Who? Who's gonna throw? Yeah, that Zoellick's probably Mullins.
I mean, come on, guys don't sleep.
They do still have Jordan Reed so, And And he did show up.
Hold on, Lawrence.
I'm gonna trust you.
This guy is ripping on Daniel Jones and then he says, Don't sleep on Mullens.
Don't sleep on Mullins out of here.
That's Kyle Shanahan's guy.
Don't forget, San Francisco is without both Solomon Thomas and Dee Ford for this game as well.
Eso I don't see them getting as much pressure.
And if they do, they're gonna have to send heat from different directions.
Which means I'm sorry.
I like Daniel Jones scrambling ability.
Uh, he's actually got a much better job this year and protecting the football when it comes to, you know, not bumbling it so much so far.
Anyhow, I got the Giants in this one in a close one.
Especially when you don't got both of chasing you down.
Exactly. All right, Keith Europe.
This is a must win for the New York football giants.
I live literally 15 minutes away from the stadium.
This is Giants Country, and the talk is hey, spread opened up is us as plus seven underdogs.
Now it's moved to three.
People are starting to think about this 40 Niners team and the injuries they've taken their missing.
Ah, lot of important guys on this team and for the Giants.
Even without, say, Kwan Barkley, they're relatively healthy.
They do have pretty much all their guys.
I know there's not that many weapons for Daniel Jones, but look for slating.
Him and Slaten are good together.
They'll get Ingram involved.
And like you said about, say Kwan now, they could get all the backs involved.
Dion Lewis, Wayne Gallman.
They signed Devante Freeman.
I think this is a game that the Giants have to stand up at home and take from the 40 Niners.
I, as a Cowboys fan, would love to see them get close and lose it late.
But I think the Giants pull it off today.
Well, Joe is taking San Francisco.
The three of us seem like to be gang up on him, But we're also being gang up as 85% of ESPN users are taking the San Francisco 40 Niners today.
All right, now you got the oh, and to Houston Texans who couldn't have started with a tougher schedule, having to face the Kansas City Chiefs and then the Baltimore Ravens going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers who couldn't have started any better, who are, too, and oh, this is a game.
Another, I think, must win for both teams.
Pittsburgh may smell blood in the water because Baltimore is facing the defending Super Bowl champions and Houston needs to win A to stay alive in their division.
And both teams got to show whether or not they're true contenders.
Joe, I know you have a lot of strong feelings, really towards both teams, so I'm gonna turn it over to you and give you the first go with this.
All right? So this might be a little bit of a shock, I'm sure.
But I do have Houston pulling off the upset man.
I do have Houston pulling off the upset, and I understand everybody calls me a Steelers Ader.
I get it, But I'm just not convinced yet.
I am not convinced yet.
I know their defense is great, but what I'm looking at is this text in secondary is extremely underrated.
They kept, you know, the chiefs in week 12 relatively quiet passing numbers they kept.
And I know this is not a big feet, but they kept Lamar Jackson to relatively quiet passing numbers.
They kept Mark Andrews, who absolutely kills everybody, that he faces toe one reception, which is extremely unheard off.
So I think if they could do that Big Ben, um, I'm interested to see how big Ben performs against the secondary, because I believe that people are extremely sleeping on this text in secondary.
I like to Shawn Watson to pull it out, man, he's gonna make some crazy things happen.
And I have the Texans pulling off the upset man.
Mark Andrews is also the reason I lost my fantasy week last week.
Um, look for me, it's There's an argument on both sides.
I think Houston is a better team than their record shows.
I think that we've seen good things out of that offense.
Good things out of that defense.
I think their arm or improved team, even without DeAndre Hopkins, because they have Mawr receivers and just one, possibly to when you put in Fuller, Brandon cooks has done well.
I will not down go against Pittsburgh, though saying that they're bad, their defense is look fantastic, and I'm gonna go with Pittsburgh because I think they see this is a must win.
And, um, you know what? And if they prove me wrong, I'll have a different thought next week.
But this is Pittsburgh right now.
Prove to me that they don't have it before.
I'll go against them.
What do you thinking, man? I got the Steelers.
I think this is the season, that Bill O Brien.
Everybody is just looking at him every week.
Like, why would you do that? Trade and get rid of nook? Get rid of Hopkins.
We're gonna see every week that Hopkins is with collar.
Those guys lighten it up and just showing lots is gonna be over there trying to get the ball to cooks.
I just don't I don't see it.
I think the Steelers already at home.
I don't think the Texans go out there to Heinz Field and push those guys around.
It's a very important game for the Steelers to go 33 you know, and I think they get it done.
Lawrence Steelers were one of the most healthy teams in football right now.
They've got just two people hurt on their both offensive lineman, their their their entire defense and the rest of their, uh, team on offenses is perfectly fine.
And the Steelers have been rolling really well, so I just I don't have a problem right here.
Uh, the only the only issue I have picking the Steelers to win is mhm.
They are a very aggressive defense, and D Shawn Watson can make a very aggressive defense pay.
So I'm kind of curious on how this Pittsburgh Steelers is going to play coaching wise.
The Shawn Watson.
I'm still gonna pick the Steelers, but I think, yeah, watch out for watching, making this Steelers defense pay when they when they come in on, like, 56 man blitzes all the time.
Well, the last time the three of us went against Joe, he was taking the favorite 85%.
We were taking the underdog flip.
This time, 85% of ESPN users were taking the Pittsburgh Steelers.
To win this game are the next game is a very interesting game.
You've got the oh, and to Carolina Panthers going up against the now Justin Herbert led Los Angeles Chargers, who are one and one before this game.
I may or before last week, I may have really, really been questioning which direction I want to go.
I was impressed with her, but they pushed the defending champions to the limit.
Carolina No. Christian McCaffrey.
There's a lot of bad things.
Teddy has disappointed me.
Uh, I'm gonna go with the favorites here, and I'm gonna take the chargers.
Uh, Lawrence, I'll start with you.
Look, I didn't I didn't like Teddy starting out.
I didn't like Tyrod starting out.
Now either one of them is playing in this game, or you're gonna say that Teddy is playing in this game, but two gloves? Not really, uh, charges.
Just a better overall team all the way around.
Okay? And and that's what me.
Not even liking Herbert.
Even though Herbert did well last week.
All right, Joe? Yeah.
I got to roll with the chargers, man.
It just displays that it should be the Chargers.
There's there is a voice in the back of my head, which I usually listen to That's telling me to pick the Panthers, but I'm gonna bypass that for now.
And if they do win this game, I'm gonna be ****ed for not listening to that voice.
But, yeah, I can't do it, man. They don't have Christian McCaffrey.
I just have no faith in this Panthers team at all.
I have to roll with the Chargers.
And just like Lawrence's pick against Washington, Joe has set himself up for a win win key.
Final word on this game you have the same way we talked about, say, Kwan Barkley not being there and the Giants office an offense like Think about that with CMC.
Kind of frees them up now.
Hey, who's gonna be the guy to get the ball? Who? The playmakers.
They've got some playmakers.
If they could get the ball into their hands, I think we're jumping on Justin Herbert a little too fast.
This will be his second start.
Yes, the charges will have a week of him getting the reps.
But I think last week was just like everyone wasn't expecting him to start in.
That game was such a freak thing with Tyrod getting his lung punctured by the dot like that's ridiculous.
The spread is too high. They have.
They have the Chargers favorite to win by 6.
5, so to win by a touchdown.
I think the charges could win, but I'm taking Panthers to cover that plus 6 6.5.
I think they will challenge them today.
So who you taking on the on the pick up? Straight up charges to win it charges, but not by not by a touchdown? Well, we're going with 92% of ESPN users taking the Chargers toe win this game right high on them.
Watch out for that game.
Next game is the one and one Tom Obey.
Gronk Anier is going up against the beat up decimated finished Denver Broncos who are now oh into what? A just a awful string of luck they've had this season.
Um, I mean, look, if Tampa doesn't win this game mhm if they if they win this game, I'm gonna go on a one hour review of a certain person who's wanted to have more fun than New England.
But I gotta take Tampa.
I mean, this just looks like a cakewalk.
Keith, I'll go to you next.
Yeah, they're rolling out Jeff Driskel, Um or or Blake Bortles.
We don't really know that.
Signed Blake Bortles this week.
I look at this game is, uh, you know, the Buccaneers auto.
Walk in there and and steamroll these guys.
I know there's the altitude.
I know we don't know if the Buccaneers have it all together, but I think now that the Buccaneers have had a few weeks and look out for Leonard for net use, he's coming along.
Like I think the Buccaneers should run away with this one. They have the weapons.
They're relatively healthy.
The Broncos aren't healthy.
Jerry. Judy was questionable.
Give me the books to cover that six.
Don't sleep on Blake Bortles.
No, no, I'm just kidding.
Because e you know Nick Mullins, That's just go to you next. Okay? No.
The bucks definitely gotta win this one, man.
I mean, the Broncos again, they're starting either Jeff Driskel or Blake Bortles as their quarterback.
So think about that.
The bucks clearly have the better team on paper on the field.
Everything bucks should absolutely take this one.
All right, Lawrence, Final word.
Even with the loss of a couple of guys on defense, they still have chub.
They still have General Casey.
You know, they still have Kareem Jackson, Justine Simons, Callahan.
They still have a decent defense.
They obviously they're missing their most important defender on on the Broncos.
But I think this defense is good enough. Toe.
Make Tampa Bay a little bit nervous and make some mistakes.
Especially if they can get into Tom Brady's face.
I'm gonna pick it up here.
I think I think.
Well, I was just gonna ask.
I want to know who the hell the 7% were on ESPN. Lawrence.
But now I need to look at you.
So you think that Blake Bortles to know a fence is good enough to beat the uh so I think Jeff during school with with Melvin Gordon KJ handler.
Well, Jerry, Judy is only questionable, right? Probably gonna play.
Yeah, you got you Still got no affect.
KJ handler and Jerry Judy has played out of their minds so far this season.
All three of those guys have.
Yeah, yeah, they're decent.
I'm just saying don't let him change his mind.
He's made his pick.
00 All right. Okay.
I'm gonna move us along here.
Take, uh, Keith, Joe and I are going with the 93% on ESPN.
Lawrence going with 7% on Denver.
All right, the next game, the God awful, dreadful, terrible Detroit Patriots going on against the Arizona Cardinals.
Guys, I'm not even gonna break this one down Arizona by a million Kia gel. Start with you.
I think raise upset because he knows he has to put a pie in his face.
Joe, I'm doing it. I'll do it now.
All right, Fair enough. Fair enough.
Arizona's winning this game.
I mean, Detroit is just defeated, as I could have predicted before the season even started.
I think this this might be the beginning of the map.
Patricia, you know, pushing out.
Probably if they start on three.
So Cardinals win this one.
Too many weapons on offense.
I like the Cardinals.
All right, Keith.
Back to back home games for the cards.
Expect them to keep rolling.
Last week, like, I don't know if enough people are talking about this kid and what he can actually do running the ball, throwing the ball.
And now that he's got Hopkins, I think the cardinals, they cover that 5.
5 and they don't they might get the lead and never lose it today.
So give me the Cardinals.
All right, Lawrence.
Well, it's I think it's all of us, right? I mean, that this offense for the Cardinals right now is really, really good.
So I'm going with cards.
So when you're picking games, you can't pick with your heart.
And I want to know the 5% on ESPN who's picking Detroit to win this game Is the upset, um, you know, picking it upsets.
Okay, I got the Giants.
You know, you got a hard Detroit.
You gotta be a hard core alliance family picking the lions over the over the cardinals.
And one of them, Or, you know, what is good is Kansas City.
Baltimore is gonna be This actually could be the most intriguing game of the day.
The Sunday night football game. Oh, no.
We're gonna do that tonight for Sunday Night football, aren't we? So we're not covering that game.
Soy boys. I apologize. I apologize.
I apologize, and Joe will do your team from Monday night football tomorrow.
Okay, So, uh, my apologies, guys.
I got it all revved up and excited and didn't get there, so Okay, we can talk about the two best games.
You can't talk about the two.
If you want to talk about the two best games, you gotta come in tonight.
Come in tomorrow. That's the way we do it here. Little teasers.
All right, so we're gonna go now and cover, I guess.
Lawrence, Mine and Keith team on.
I'm just going to go in order of the way they're listed in the first game here at 1 p.m.
Is the Las Vegas Raiders, too, And, oh, visiting my one and one New England Patriots.
I'll get I'll go last for own team's and we'll just go on a round circle here so we'll start with Joe.
What's your predictions for this game? Oh, this is gonna be such a fun game to watch. Man.
This is gonna be so interesting to see the matchups with the Raiders offense against this Patriots defense.
I mean, Darren Waller, do you have an answer for Darren Waller? We're gonna find out Cam Newton obviously playing extremely well at a great level.
Um, you love to see it.
I do have the Patriots edging this one out starting the season off to and one just because from what I've seen from Can Cam Newton and also I think that the Patriots defense is more so built to stop this type of Derek Carlette offense rather than, you know, like a Russell Wilson mobile quarterback type thing.
So, yes, I am picking the Patriots, but I think it could be a close game, and you might see a lot of points being put up here.
All right, Lawrence, go to you.
Josh Jacobs is questionable.
Henry rugs out Waller's question of Waller and Jacobs will be playing today.
They are playing.
They are playing, but they're banged up.
Yeah, that XYZ pretty huge roads is a big, big hit.
Um, I just I don't see a guy on this on this offense.
Hunter Renfroe know Brian Edwards? No, none of these guys they're gonna do to a specific cornerback.
What a specific wide receiver did to that cornerback last week.
I'm not gonna name names, but, uh, name it up.
Mandy came A cough is a freak of nature.
Yes, and I don't I don't see any of these wide receivers on this team.
Anyone on the Patriots defense? Uh, yeah, I got I got the Patriots on this one.
All right, Keith turned to you.
Bill Belichick is not gonna lose back to back games.
Bill Belichick's been up late every night of this week looking at film.
And I love the story that the Raiders have started off, too.
And, uh, they beat the Panthers.
They scored 34 points.
They beat the Saints.
They scored 34 points.
They will not score 34 points against the Patriots defense.
That spread being 6.
5 is a little high for me, but I think that we see Cam Newton take a step throwing the ball today.
Give me the pats and give me them to cover at home.
So, Lawrence, I'm gonna, uh, say exactly what you said.
There's nobody on the Raiders who's gonna embarrass the fun Gilmore the way D K. Metcalf did.
And I don't think there's anybody who's going to embarrass this Patriots defense the way Seattle did.
Um, okay, there's a couple of teams that could maybe do it, but I think Seattle is a team that's gonna embarrass a lot of defense is this season, and they already have. They embarrassed Atlanta.
That's not that bad of a defense, and they embarrass the Patriots.
Um, I am gonna put this out in. This isn't a shot of Keith.
This is just to prove this is a cornerback who had Mawr catches from Dak Prescott.
Then Amari Cooper did.
Do you know what I mean during the game? Because of how much he shut him down.
This is a great quarterback, and there is nobody on this team that matches who you know.
Amari Cooper is on the Raiders number two.
Yes, they have Josh Jacobs.
I cannot stress enough that he ran the ball 27 times last week for 88 yards.
Hey, this Patriots defense is not gonna get being again and being there.
Think more about the Miami game than you do about the everybody's looking at the Seattle game Expected defense.
It's more like the Miami game now.
The Patriots do have a big, big issue in the middle Now our center, David Andrews, has been put on the I R for three days with a broken thumb after surgery.
I expect that for nets, who just got called off.
The practice squad has sort of been the backup center for a few years, is going to come in and snap the ball.
It's gonna be different timing between him and Cam Newton.
The beautiful thing is, though, we have Cam Newton, the guy who could make offensive lines look better, Um, and I think that he'll be able to escape it.
As for the Raiders, Darren Waller just went out and ate the New Orleans Saints zone defense last week.
Guess what the New England Patriots don't do.
They don't play zone defense unless they're scared of Russell Wilson or Lamar Jackson running the football all over them.
And they ain't scared of Derek Carr running the football all over them.
They're gonna go man to man.
And what's the one thing that Bill Belichick does best? Take away your best player? Um, you know, that's what they do.
They did it to Tyree kill.
They did it to Cooper.
They've done it time and time and time again. It's hard.
It's not often you run into a team like Seattle, where you got locket and Metcalfe, and it's hard to take care.
Take them both out. J. C.
Jackson was asked yesterday about Darren Waller.
He said, Hey, he's a great player, Don't worry.
We got something for him.
That's good enough for me, Keith.
I am going to take to spread.
I think it's gonna be a 10 point game.
I'm taking the Patriots to win this game.
Like I said with the Raiders game last week, where I was like in order for the Raiders to beat them, Waller has toe have a monster game in this.
In this situation.
For the Raiders to beat the Patriots, Jacobs has to have a monster game.
I mean, he's banged up after all the carries he's had the first two weeks.
I mean, I don't know.
We'll see that. I'm excited for that game.
Jon Gruden insists on running the football, even if it's not working.
And it wasn't working last week, and Jacobs had to take a lot of punishment for 88 yards.
You know, everybody's looking like, Oh, you have 100 something yard so we have got.
But it took 27 rushes to get 88 of them, you know what I mean? Like I don't.
Those are misleading stats.
He averaged 3.3 yards per carry.
You know that's not the Patriots to play man to man play action.
Doesn't work against straight man demand all the time because the guys air covered anyhow, they're not leaving their assignments to go in.
So it's He has to average at least 4.
5 today if it's gonna be successful.
All right, let's move on to the next game, which I mean, I don't even know how we need ****ysis for this game, but we'll give it to him.
The pathetic oh, into New York Jets are gonna go face the one and one Indianapolis Colts, right? Oh, sorry, guys.
I should say ESPN users have 74% of people taking the New England Patriots.
Um uh, Well, give it at the end.
I 77% of people are obvious are taking the Indianapolis cold.
So my only assessment for this game I'll start.
I'd like to know who the 3% are.
They're taking the New York Jets.
That's what I want to know.
Uh, Lawrence will start with you or no, Lauren.
You're gonna go last, Joe. We'll start with you.
What do you think about this game? Okay, it's funny, because we made a joke that every time a Colts game comes up, we're just like waken Skip this one way.
Don't need the Oh, um, I got the colts for sure, man.
I mean, the jets air just terrible. Horrible.
They have the most missed tackles in the league with 40.
And it's only been two weeks.
Um, yeah, I just don't see any way the jets pull this one out, and I hope for their sake that they finally get rid of Adam Gates because they need to.
And I mean, but they probably won't.
Please everybody, please go on Twitter and help me get a trended.
I have hashtag extend Adam Gates.
I'm trying to help our friends out in New York.
Please help get that.
Keith, what are you thinking for this game? I feel bad for the Jets and their fans.
I feel bad for Sam.
Donald, They're rolling this kid out there with Barrios and Chris Hogan and turned in and Frank Patriots Patriots Castoffs.
Yeah, Barrios was was a Castoff hogan, and cast off this Jets team is bad news.
I don't think they're gonna be able to do anything at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts should be slipping into a nice, warm bath to enjoy their Sunday today.
What's the spread? This has gotta be in favor of its 11.
5 points for the Colts, and I think they can.
I think they could definitely do it.
I'm looking for Jonathan Taylor to really get going today against this team.
I'm looking for that offensive line toe have their way against the Jets defensive line.
It's the Colts all day.
The only way that Colts don't win is if they fumble the ball that they have a bunch of penalties.
They shoot themselves in the foot, but they should handle the Jets easily today.
So, Lawrence, you had me on your podcast on Friday where you're setting up this game.
We did everything we could to try to make it interesting.
I think are the funnest part we had was Joe in the comments, Um, Lawrence try to convince the people why this game will be interesting because it's got freaking letdown.
Game written all.
Oh, come on, Cole tells air.
Nervous cause there are a lot of Colts fans out there that they're nervous as heck because every time the Colts walk into a game and you're everybody's like you're guaranteed to win this game, the Colts somehow find a way to go.
Here you go, you know, and that's been history.
That's all the way back in the Peyton Manning days.
You know where the Colts just find a way of doing? Look what they did with Jacksonville, Week one.
Everybody had the Colts win in that game, and they were, like, here, you know? And now the Jets.
This is worse than the jet.
This is 10 times worse than the Jacksonville game.
Um, but I'm just like, Well, I mean, Sam Donald can be special at times.
The historically, the Jets got a good run defense, but they haven't been so far this year.
E don't Rivers will have to throw three pick sixes in a row just for the Jets to have a chance.
I'm telling you, that would be the only way I could see this happening.
That's what you said.
Uh, on the ball.
Dude, you just got done saying that they've got what 40 missed tackles in two weeks and Jonathan Taylor is a beast running the stinking football.
It's e just I can't see.
I don't think Philip Rivers has to throw the football one time this game.
E think he does because you know, he don't want his arms or, you know, go cold.
But I Honestly, I think the Colts could run this ball all day long.
All right, so we all got the Colt s.
So I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the 3% of people who chose the Jets as, uh as, uh, Colts fans.
Let's look at this Dallas game.
Are you supposed to go? Yeah, I guess so.
Go ahead, Keith.
Let's look at the sorry fellas.
Don't be fooled.
Okay, let's get that out.
So when I look at this Dallas game, I've been watching the spread and it stayed pretty much where it's at at Seattle, minus five.
And everyone's talking. Russ, M V.
And Seattle is home back to back weeks.
They beat the Patriots at home back to back weeks.
Don't be fooled by that 40 point game that the Cowboys put up last week.
I am telling you it was Mawr a product off the Falcons, literally unraveling on defense, Coaching, unraveling like the Cowboys? Yes, they have weapons.
When that gets going like he got going in that second half, it's amazing.
But, you know, I sent some tweets out this week people were talking about Oh, the Seahawks don't have a pass rush and you know they can't cover the slot.
So seedy Lamb is gonna have a field day.
Well, on the other side of the ball, the Cowboys defense is a mess.
A one of our starting corners is down.
I don't have any faith, and I don't have any faith in our corners stopping Metcalfe locket and even D.
I have no faith in us getting a pass rush on Russ.
Listen, if you guys wanna, if you guys wanna bet this game take the under because the over Under is at 56 a half, that's ridiculous.
Take the under and take Seattle to cover.
That's what I'm doing.
I'm a Cowboys fan.
I'm telling you, there's no way we go in to Seattle even without their fans and compete with them like this.
I think we will compete, But I don't think we we come close to winning this game or scoring as many points as people have for us.
On lookout for Jamal Adams.
That's the guy that grew up in Dallas, wanted to come to Dallas.
He's gonna have a little chip on his shoulder today to make Dallas feel it.
He's gonna wreck someplace for us.
Uh, I don't think there's any way of Dallas Cowboys win this game today.
I felt that way for three weeks.
Give me Seattle minus five.
All right, Sorry about that fellow's as you know, with live streaming stuff happens and stuff happens.
Look, a t beginning of this week.
I think it was our doing our Sunday Night Football game.
I got all hyped up and I said that the Dallas Cowboys.
We're gonna You know, I talked about how Seattle didn't beat the Patriots.
They survived the Patriots.
The Cowboys pulled off a victory.
That's a different emotion going into this week, and I told Keith, I'm calling it now.
The Dallas Cowboys win.
But as I told Joe Wednesday night, I had time to think about it.
I had time to level headed time for emotions to go away.
E can't bet against Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.
Um, And I feel, you know, I'm I'm Tauron, though, because this is gonna be the third straight week I have picked against the Dallas Cowboys.
But I have to do it again because I've talked myself out of it again.
I gotta go with Seattle, Joe.
What do you say? Yeah, I do have Seattle winning this game, but something to look out for it.
I'm sure Keith already knows this, but you guys know who has the worst defense overall in terms of yards given up and passing defense.
It's the Seahawks.
They have the worst.
That's absolutely crazy.
And the whole league.
So I could see this being a shootout.
They do have a good run defense.
I don't know if that's the product of just everybody being able to throw on that secondary.
That might be why they have a good run defense, but yeah, man, I think that this could be a shootout because both of these offenses have amazing weapons.
I think Russell Wilson obviously the better quarterback.
Which is why I'm rolling with Seattle.
Um, but yeah, I expect this to be a high scoring game.
Men and Lawrence.
Final word on the final game.
I need to look at something real quick while he's saying that.
So, Okay, Yeah, you're dead on.
Except for okay.
So the reason why they have the worst pass defense in the NFL is because s so far this this year, every teams had to pass to keep up with Seattle.
I mean, Seattle's throwing the football, throwing it out there.
They have to throw the football to keep up with them.
So, obviously, um, but they are giving up the arts.
They are giving up the yards per attempt.
So Dallas has the weapons in order to do that.
Now the question is, can they keep back off the ground? That's the problem.
Because, you know, you know Jamal out of is going to come in on a multiple.
Multiple bliss is on that Prescott.
I don't know. I can't.
This game has what I figured was the best team in the N.
F in the NFC going into the season playing against what is the best team in the NFC as of right now, because I have the Cowboys being the best at the beginning of the season.
Now it's It's no question in my mind in Seattle right now.
I got Seattle winning, but I think it's I think they do, uh, end up pulling off that, what, 56 a half? You said we got one minute, Lawrence.
I'm done all right.
Eso Thank you for teaching, you know, And it's definitely a great slate of games today at 7 p.
Eastern time tonight, You conjoined myself, Lawrence and Joe.
Not Keith Correct or Keith? No.
Yes, I don't think so, but I'll be somewhere on the Internet, all right.
You can join us here for the Sunday Night Football pregame, but make sure you create a profile here on SportsCastr.
Follow Lawrence followed Joe.
Make sure you know that we're always on.
We're always talking about our respective teams.
Keith also talks about that other game When they throw a ball into a hoop, I talk about a game where they kick a ball into a net and these to talk about football and football only.
But I'm sure if they want to talk about others, they could thank you so much.
for tuning into the pregame.
Gentlemen, enjoy the day.
We'll see you back here tomorrow or tonight.
Take care later.
Good luck to you guys.
