Okay. Good morning, everyone.
Friday, Friday, Friday.
We have Week three coming up here.
It's Ah, it's fbc radio live.
That means like and I were going to give our picks and eso So far, so good.
We've actually done fairly well through the first two weeks, I anticipated a horrible disaster.
Um, it has been only slightly disastrous.
And, you know, again, I think we're going to get better because we're actually above 500.
So I got a lot of fun stuff to do today. If you're watching on SportsCastr.
Thank you joined the chat.
Send in your comments, questions, concerns, anything like that.
And yes, I know the screen looks like a European hockey jersey with all the ads on there.
I've sold out too myself because, well, it's only FTC stuff, but appreciate you tuning in, and we're gonna have a lot of fun today.
So without further ado, though, I got to bring in the man Mr Unlimited himself.
Mike, Debate Mike.
What's up, buddy? Hello.
I'm doing pretty well.
Uh, riding my my perfect wave of picks for week three.
So far where I have victoriously and very wisely picked the Miami Dolphins over Fuhrman, Menchu and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Last night, they went for the Finns.
Obviously, you know, it's a situation where you know, for Jacksonville was it back to the drawing board now? Did they come back down to Earth? There wasn't just a bad game for them.
And a good game from Miami, but an exciting weekend slate.
A lot of great games, really going through an anticipation for a pig's this morning.
And ah, lot of a lot of matchups could go either way.
Are you Are you really going? Just just after one game? Are you really going with it? Are you really going with that? My friend and I really going with the perfect I'm writing it for today.
Yeah, I want to want to see him right now.
I just put the gun out of my mouth.
A skirt heading would do.
I tossed the towel over my over my shoulder and Bobby Heenan was there to collect it.
God, I hope not.
Bobby Heenan wasn't there to collect really scare me, But in that case, it's, uh well, you tossed your gum and I just do it passed to myself because this is a sports show, so I like to keep it eyes close to football.
It's possible football Friday, as we say.
So I threw an incredible pass and I ran and I caught it myself.
Giselle Giselle would have been happy.
Let's just put it that way.
I can't catch the ball.
You throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.
My good friend here on the other end of the microphone can do it.
I've seen him do it.
It's a pretty sight and you'll want to see it to.
Someday we'll put it on the feed.
But other than that, you know right now, just live in the notion on the speculation on guy leave you, Teoh.
You know, so to think about that.
Let it marinate throughout the weekend.
Yeah, well, I mean, here's here's Here's the deal.
I have very few skills throwing a ball and catching it.
Being perfect is my only one, so you'll just have to Do you have a particular set of skills? Trujillo.
Uh, don't worry about Mike.
Mike just does what he wants.
he talks to himself.
You wouldn't realize how many times I mute, Um, the mike when Mike is just having full on conversations out loud with himself, its's quite disturbing.
He's he said some very disturbing things before it's it's it's made me, uh, made me concerned, but thinks is a lot of memos.
Has to press this, you know, we're all the big FTC conference room together and, uh, pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
Just just just just ignore him.
Anyways, it's Friday, Which means, of course, we're going to spend as we do most, most days, a majority of the time on football, because again, we're We're just barreling into week three here, uh, Mike mentioned he was right.
And, um, I was wrong last night.
I picked the Jaguars.
I was I was I was riding with into mania, but I forgot that fits.
Magic is going on right now.
Yeah, So I, uh, only one, uh, this week, cause I feel like I'm gonna go perfect as they say.
Perfect thing this weekend.
You know, I I got to figure out a way that any time either of us says the word Perfect.
Um, my reaction time is not quite as good, so I'll try to keep up with it as much as possible.
But, you know, don't don't fault me if I'm not perfect.
Um, somewhere out there in the alternate universe, heading is really just not happy with No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
We'll make him proud by the end of it.
Don't worry, we will rebound.
And this will, Yeah, if you see me on on screen right now clearly fumbling with my notes here because I have no, uh, no, nothing here, E I mean, I have notes.
I just have no organizational skills, is what I'm trying to say.
Or speaking skills, apparently.
Um, So anyways, getting into week don't have a particular so no, I don't know.
I don't on the docket.
We got a lot going on.
Yeah, well, you know the pop inside. Okay.
You know, the signals that I get on the steel plate just sometimes, you know, they really they trigger, and that's what comes out.
This I know the answer to this question.
I know that he answered this question.
I just wanna hear you elaborate on it.
Liam Neeson from Taken or Jack Bauer? Uh, yeah, well, I know, I know. I know.
From taking was great.
One of my all time favorite movie characters.
But you're talking Jack about, Of course.
Well, that that's what I That's what I'm saying.
I knew I knew it was talking.
The man who showed up to donate blood with a gun in a bucket back tough Jack Bauer is He doesn't back down.
He just keeps going.
He's just he's, you know, he's one of those guys that just now seriously, I love taking.
I love Liam Neeson in that role.
I think he was great.
But now I'm going about her all the way.
Not even close for me.
Um, yeah, uh, again, Like I said, I knew the answer to the question.
I just wanted to ask, But, you know, it's good.
There's no knock on Liam Neeson.
I mean, come on, let's Xabi really here.
They can only be one, uh, goat.
Uh, asked kicker on television, and that's clearly Jack Bauer.
And of course, he's American.
hero and you know he he can save the world in one day.
It's it's It's pretty simple.
It's pretty simple, but no.
Anyways, we've got some pretty big matchups coming up this week.
Uh, the obviously.
We usually spend some time in the Patriots, but they get to play the red hot, uh, Las Vegas Raiders. That's gonna be fun.
Obviously, Monday night football is the quote unquote game of the century, as some people have said between the greatest quarterback of all time and Patrick problems.
Um, the only two New York Jets look to get throttled against the cold.
So I'm looking forward to that track for that.
No, Uh, you know what? You should have that time we say Perfect.
Then Kurt headings Music comes on every time we say jets, we should have a laugh track in the background.
You know, like I'm thinking like a very, uh let's see.
What's that? What would be a good laugh track? What TV show had the best laugh track? What do you think? What do you think could have you know what actually Drew Carey show? Hahaha guy, I love that guy.
He always got one of those in there.
A couple? Well, actually, a couple of times.
Yeah, I was pretty good.
I like that one. If you could find that would be great.
Well, you know what? I'm trying to stall here until I find my actual laugh track.
E just forgot where I put it on the stall for time. Yeah.
You're going? Yeah.
Just do that for the next.
However long it takes me to figure this out.
He has a particular such skills.
Hair clips on YouTube.
I thought I knew I had it somewhere.
I knew. I really did.
Um, I've mentioned it so many times before.
My, uh, soundbite board is horribly, horribly unorganized.
And it's something I really just got to dive into and get fixed.
But but yes, the New York Jets, uh, to Indianapolis to take on the Colts.
Philip Rivers on the colt.
So that's gonna be fun.
And let's see what we got.
What else we got? A Dallas and Seattle.
Hey, you know, here's the thing, and I'm gonna I'm gonna, uh, kind of brag here a little bit last week, and we should have done this earlier in the week, but again, I kind of I kind of slacked a little bit on getting these tallied up, and I didn't really, you know, go back and look at the score.
But I actually picked the Dallas Cowboys to beat the Atlanta Falcons by 1.
Of course, it was 42.
39 you know, I certainly did not foresee the cir***stances, uh, playing out the way they did, but yeah, I was pretty much on the money on that, and and I was three points off, actually, I got the score.
Margin correct in.
Ah, um, for the 40 Niners and the Jets, I just I I sold both those teams short by three points, so I picked 28 10.
So I got to pat myself a little bit on the back here since I'm you know, I lost.
Technically, I'm losing so far through two weeks, so I'm coming back, though this week is gonna be my week.
What's it you will say? Okay.
All right. Well, we'll see. We'll see.
No, you don't know.
You don't It's okay.
Alright, Don't worry about it.
Green Bay, New Orleans, Green Bay in New Orleans on Sunday Night Football as well.
Uh, toe highlight the week.
So there's a lot of pretty big games.
I think we're starting to ah see more and more what some of these teams are.
Obviously, it's only week two, so these teams are gonna evolve over the next several weeks, and I think we're going to see that a little more so this season than in years past because of the lack of pre season and, you know, a lot of other cir***stances, Uh, but I think we're starting to see kind of where some of these teams are gonna ultimately shake out.
Uh, there are several to an old teams, and I gotta ask you which one and I'm gonna list because I'm looking at the sheet right now so I can look it up and I can tell you, Buffalo, the Rams, the Chicago, there's and the what am I missing? The Pittsburgh Steelers and also the Cardinals? And of course, the Chiefs all too, And oh, which whoa, actually, no, You know what? I'm completely off here.
There's a lot of to know teams here.
I'm thinking like, Oh, there's only a handful.
No, there's there's a ton.
So let me let me list them for you.
Okay? Chicago, Los Angeles, The Rams.
We got Buffalo Bills.
We have the Tennessee Titans, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
I think I might have said Penguins earlier, so I hope everyone just kind of didn't listen to me there.
Uh, the Cardinals, Arizona.
Also Seattle and Green Bay all to know.
And then, of course, Kansas City in Baltimore.
Which one of those teams you have the least faith in? So right off the bat to me, I'll answer real quick and then I'll let you go with it.
I'm going to say the Rams, Honestly, I don't You know, I'm really not big on the Rams.
I like the Raiders.
I do like the Raiders.
And we actually talked about the Raiders, uh, during the off season and extended all that stuff.
So we were kind of on the Raiders bandwagon a little bit here.
I have no faith in the ramps to keep this up.
I think two and O is a mirage.
I think all those other teams, though.
I mean, Z, I think they're right on par.
I mean, Arizona.
I think we both had faith in Pittsburgh.
Their defense is pretty good.
And you know Ben Roethlisberger being back.
That's gonna help.
I like Tennessee, But the Rams, I have a problem with the Rams at to know.
And, of course, Chicago E.
I feel the same way about the Rams as well.
I think Chicago's defense right now gives me a little bit more faith in them.
But I think they're a little bit of a mirage as well.
And believe it or not, I actually have them both falling this weekend.
You know, jump the gun a little bit here, but those My heart aches for the week, folks.
So you're telling me the Falcons won't hold a big lead, then? No, this is not okay.
Okay, so they're not gonna blow this, okay? No, no, no.
They won't blow the big lead.
If you know Atlanta goes out to a big lead, folks, then Yeah, I like the team that starts with a C hands and, you know, and has a hickok in the middle.
In any case, Uh, no, I don't think much.
Pull, Assassin, You're gonna be flowing around.
**** is restaurant this weekend.
I'm, like, in, you know, I'm like, in Atlanta to do a little damage here, but we won't get too far ahead of ourselves right now.
And on all kidding aside, folks, a ways keeping the tally, my friend.
Yeah, the Ian Meister.
Alright, we're getting all right, all right.
Getting back to the Rams here.
Now, I agree with you.
I think this is a team that is a little bit of an anomaly.
Um, I really don't see them being ah, power House in this division.
And I think the fact that they are is a little bit more, maybe of a product of the teams that they played so far rather than their records.
So, yeah, I don't like them to to really parlay this into contending in this division, but now you're looking at San Francisco severely decimated by injury.
I still think there's a lot more talent there to carry San Francisco over Los Angeles.
But if you're Seattle and even Arizona right now, you've got to be looking at things and and liking your chances in this division.
Those Air two teams that are definitely for riel.
We'll see what the Rams are made of if they could go into Buffalo and unseat the Bills.
Azaz Patriots guy, you Definitely.
That's what you're hoping for.
I'm a big Rams fan this weekend, but I just don't see them doing it.
I think buffaloes better on both sides of the ball, and I think they'll prove it.
Yeah, and certainly early on, they're playing very well.
2, uh, passer rating through two weeks.
Uh, this is obviously before last night.
So, you know, that might be slightly different now, but it's the highest league wide passer rating through two weeks, and and it's really not surprising.
I mean, we've seen the league trending towards this for several years now.
Hence why, at times we said, let's let's let's hold off a little bit before we start putting some of these, uh, recent numbers in perspective, you know, because again people are talking about Oh, you know, Jamis Winston has thrown more passing yards than anyone in NFL NFL history through his first.
Yeah, I don't care.
Um, talk to me about 10 years when we have a better idea what the norm is because I think Patrick Mahomes is gonna go over 10,000 if he hasn't already.
I think he's right.
I didn't see the numbers and I didn't pay attention.
But he's right at the cusp.
I mean, literally.
If he didn't do it last week, they'll probably do it this week.
Um, so So I I don't wanna I don't want to hear that, You know what I mean? Like, it's just it's I want to see what these numbers ultimately mean.
Uh, 10 years from now, when we have a better idea and better sample size when it comes to to an era of football, because we know how it is.
You know, we told again total touchdown passes.
Ah, 110 through two weeks.
That's that's third most in NFL history.
And through the first two weeks, um, you know, everything's right up there.
Number one number two most in NFL history.
And it's all you know, recent years.
So, uh, it's exciting.
I mean, that's what at the league wanted they wanted to take or put a little bit more emphasis on the offense they want, you know, offenses.
It means ratings.
I mean, people see big time.
Remember how crazy people went for Kansas City verse Los Angeles, you know, And really, it wasn't to me personally.
I just got got bored after a while because there's just back and forth. Okay, Awesome.
You know, you know, neither team is playing a liquid defense.
And it was just kind of like, uh, if you ever played Madden and you put it on, like, all rookie mode and e.
I mean, it's just what's the point? What's the point? It's so easy, you know, E Yeah.
I agree with you.
High flying offense is like that.
I mean, they're, uh they're fun for every football fan.
Every football fan. Oh, sure, sure.
They love to see these things.
For the casual foot ball fan, it's a dream come true.
This is exactly what they want to see.
It's exactly what they dream about high flying offense.
Not a whole lot of defense.
Uh, you really separated? I think the casual football fan, the casual NFL fan from the diehard NFL fan in Super Bowl 53.
The amount of people that were saying this game is so boring.
This is terrible. This is boring.
It was a defensive slugfest.
If you're a fan of true football, you really appreciated the beauty of that game and what it brought.
You know, to everyone that loves seeing two defensive teams, you know, and that sounds a little weird.
But considering that the the L.
A Rams were considered, um, offensive juggernaut, both of those defense has played phenomenally well in that game, and it really was a joy to see.
So I think in a lot of ways, it's the aesthetic purposes that puts out that mantra that you want to see. High flying offense.
Um, the balance is so much better, especially up here in New England.
We're used to seeing defensive, you know, domination by the Patriots defense and keeping teams in check.
The strategy of it all is a part of what makes this team and what gives this team its identity.
So and a lot of ways I think we've been spoiled by great defense or you know the desire to see great defensive play.
Pittsburgh is another city that absolute in the mix of things for very solid, very strong defense.
This year they've returned to that, and you're seeing a very formidable Pittsburgh Steelers defense.
So, um, and a lot of ways those types of cities, I think place a premium on defense a little more than others.
But the casual football fan is gonna love the high flying, and I think they're going to get it on Monday night.
Um, despite the fact that I think that Kansas City's defense is a little better than people give them credit for.
And Baltimore defense is very good as well.
So maybe it won't be the track meet that everyone is expecting.
Maybe some, you know, stops.
They're going to be made here and there.
It's gonna come down to which quarterback can get the job done, and it could be, could be interesting.
You're gonna have a lot of fun.
Yeah, we'll spend more time on this game on Monday, obviously, because again, it's it's the Monday night football game and we're gonna have a whole their whole show Monday, being ableto, you know, react to the games on Sunday.
And then, of course, preview Monday night football.
Uh, good for you for going based on how they're playing right now.
Give me Lamar Jackson, and I know surprise, surprise you and taking Lamar over Patrick.
Well, guess what.
Uh, no, I like it's gonna be fun.
And and I like, I like I'm not saying I don't like offensive football.
That's that's That's not true at all.
I love offensive football.
I just I don't know, there's something There was something about that game that just to me, didn't it Wasn't a Z exciting, as I think a lot of people just saw.
I mean, a lot of people like, Oh, this is the greatest game of all time.
I was just like, maybe that's part of it.
And we've we've talked at exhaustion about, um you know, just how how, how much hyperbole is just kind of ruined a lot of things.
Well, at least personally, it zits ruined a lot of things for me, but but maybe that's one of it, but it But anyways, I enjoyed the game.
I just didn't think it was this incredible uh, display of, you know, awesome football.
I thought it was just kind of sloppy football.
That led to a lot of scoring.
So But we'll see.
We'll see how it goes.
I do think it z gonna be a fun, fun matchup.
First time, uh, first matchup between two former NFL MVPs under the age of 26 in NFL history.
So should be fun.
Should be fun anyways, moving on to our moving back rather to the Sunday day games because, you know, that's that's what we're gonna kind of focus on here.
Um, we already kind of talked a little bit about Chicago, Atlanta L a Rams Buffalo.
How about we give our We're gonna go a little bit on each game? Kind of like what we did last week.
We'll go right down.
The list, will give our scores.
So let's backtrack real quick.
Okay, Mike and I want you to give me your pick for Atlanta and Chicago as well as Los Angeles at Buffalo.
Okay, so we'll start with the pairs kept Americans.
Um, I think the bears will come out and be able to put some points on the board Mitchy, the kid's looking salad.
I think that continues this week.
But all getting aside, folks, I'll stop.
So that way we don't lose the already few listeners that we have already.
Um, I like the Falcons in this one.
I think they're back.
Is up against the wall after having blown a terrible lead on last week and really, really becoming, I think, the laughing stock of that NFL slate last week.
Jets not included, Um, you look at what? The way the Falcons air constituted.
I still think there's enough talent on both sides of the ball.
For them to be able to pull this one out.
I think Julio Jones comes out, you know, Hopefully he'll be, you know, active and ready to go for this one.
I do like the Falcons being able to put up points, and I like the Bears being able to put up some points as well.
So I have the Falcons 24 the Bears 21 in this one for Buffalo.
I just think they're at home.
I think Josh Allen is playing phenomenal quarterback right now.
He's just really is is, you know, looking and feeling very at home in Buffalo working well with step on digs.
I think the defense bounces back this week.
I like Buffalo in this game.
28 2 20 over the L.
A Rams 28 to 20.
All right, Um, so far, we're right, right in step here I have at Atlanta, 28 13 over Chicago and Buffalo, 21 14 over the Rams.
Like I said, I just don't believe in the Rams and a smudges.
I love the Bills.
Thio drop one this week.
I don't think that they will.
I just like I said, a lot of that has to do with how good they're playing or how well they're playing.
And of course, a lot of it also has to do with my just non belief in the ramp.
So moving on, we got football team back in action.
One in one verse, the Browns last week.
We talked about, you know, specifically about the Browns.
Okay, they laid a dud.
They laid an egg Week one.
They looked like the Cleveland Browns.
Well, they rebounded last week, and to their credit, you know, that's that's ah, you know, that's a that's a solid win over.
Ah, divisional opponent offensively, but a 35 33 over Cincinnati and Baker Mayfield so far this season.
Three interceptions to our three picks.
23 touchdowns, two interceptions.
Apparently, I'm just willing interceptions onto him.
Um, so you so in.
Okay, start to the season.
Obviously, he was much better than week to, uh, this week.
I think Washington is sneaky.
Tough? Um, they've they've played okay, football, I think.
You know, it's hard to kind of put how good they are in perspective.
When, when? When you're in the NFC East.
Because I think, you know, again there's, you know, Dallas is obviously, you know, obviously just narrowly avoided owing to I don't think either.
Wrestling two Giant.
They're going to do anything this season and three eagles.
Well, yeah, we'll get to them.
But you know, the Eagles again, You know, they're closer to the Giants, And they are, uh, division champion.
So, uh, I got Washington winning this game.
It might surprise you.
Maybe we're in sync here, but I got Washington 21 2 20.
Nice one point victory.
It doesn't surprise me because I think Washington has a shot and I have this being a close one.
Cleveland being at home, I did go with the Browns here.
I think this is the Kevin Stefanski effect.
This is where you're going to see the difference between Freddy Kitchens and the way he brand that team in the way Kevin Stefanski is running this team.
I think they take the good that they learned last week.
I think they build on it.
I think Baker continues to build his relationship with Odell Beckham Jr.
I've got the Cleveland Browns actually winning a close one in this one, not as high squandering and some people would be led to believe.
I have them 22 14 over the Washington football team.
So 11 disagreement right there.
So, uh, you know, at one point, uh, significantly are a some point well into the game last week from Minnesota.
You know what? His quarterback rating.
Surprised I I had a You know, I had some very nice things to say about Minnesota before the season, and I just hope that everyone out there listening has forgotten about it because I look like a fool right now.
And honestly, I have no reason to believe or hope that, you know, they've somehow figured it out.
And, uh, look, this is a tough matchup against Tennessee.
Ryan Tannehill's playing really well.
Obviously, I like Tennessee as a team itself.
I got them winning this game, and I have Minnesota fallen own three, which again? I peg them as the best team in the North.
And at the end of season, maybe they will be.
But it might be a little too late, because 13 that za pretty tough hole to climb out of.
But I got Tennessee winning 28.
What? I wrote here.
20. Okay, there we go. E.
I was reading the wrong thing.
Tennessee 28 Minnesota 21.
Put me down for a double.
That's exactly what All right, there we go. 28.
Yeah, I know a lot of people are thinking this is the rebound game from Minnesota.
They finally proved that they're not a zoo.
Bad as they've looked in the last.
The first couple of games and the Kirk cousins finally shows something and the defense shows up.
I just don't see it against Tennessee.
I think Tennessee is better on both sides of the ball.
I think they're gonna be able to ride Derrick Henry.
I think that Ryan Tannehill comes up and I think that the Tennessee defense is able Thio stifle Kirk Cousins again.
So many false toe.
Oh, and three were exactly like minded in this game, my friend.
Yeah, well, we'll see him.
Too bad for Minnesota, I guess.
I mean, whatever I at the end of dad, I don't care about Minnesota.
Uh, Cam Newton has eight games, eight games with two plus rushing touchdowns, like, will he do it again? And for the third time this season against the Raiders? And what will the outcome be, my friend? Is it gonna happen? Yeah, I think it is.
I really do think it does.
I think that the I think Cam is prime to be able to score on this run defense of the Las Vegas Raiders.
It's probably one of the areas in which the Patriots might be able to exploit.
I think that Josh McDaniels continues to ride the zone, Option reads.
I think he continues to ride Cam Newton in that situation, and I think you're gonna see Cam Aaron out a little bit as well, because this is a defense that can allow some points through the air.
I like the way the Patriots are going to be able to match up defensively against the Raiders.
I think they're gonna be able to stack the box a little bit.
Mawr I also think they're going to get more help from their middle line back receivers.
That's not what you want.
Bentley was meant to do.
Folks want him and berate him for a terrible game, but he was put in the wrong position right from the get go.
I think Brandon Copeland, uh, provides a little bit more health, and I think it's gonna be a little bit easier for them to try to contain the run, even though they're facing a tremendous running back and Josh Jacobs.
I liked the New England Patriots in this game at home.
I like them 34 to 24 over the Las Vegas.
Oh, man, that was that.
That was so close to being back to back, like, just in sync.
I would have questioned whether or not you stole my sheet coming into this game because, well, I did, But we're not gonna get into that.
Hey, Yeah, that that That That that brings up a lot of other questions, mainly.
How the hell did you get into my house? And yeah, so today, in there. Okay. All right.
Well, that makes it like they stole the wrong.
That's That's another rabbit hole.
We could get down at some point.
Um, I got New England winning fairly big, too.
I am obviously concerned about Josh Jacobs.
I do think the Raiders can put up some points and, you know, kind of a mixed bag where I think they'll put up some points early.
But then I think they're gonna, you know, kind of, you know, get some garbage time points as well.
I have New England winning 38 to 24.
Uh, I do think Cam's gonna have another big game again.
Last week, I think, was a huge, huge step on and just kind of, ah, confidence booster for the whole team.
And I think uh, specifically, I think I'll Duggar.
Might might get a few few licks in on Derek Carr.
Um, and that that's gonna be fun to watch.
So New England 38.
Interesting to see if that ends up containing Darren Waller.
That's gonna be the Yeah, Everybody's saying it's gonna be Gilmore.
It's gonna be Gilmore.
I think I'll get some looks.
Maybe even Juwan Williams Keep a sharp eye on that.
Look, I saw him throw a £300 linemen to the ground with these, So I'm pretty confident that even two games into his NFL career that Kyle Duggar can handle a pretty big, big matchup with the tight end.
So I'll be excited to see that, uh, real quick, though, that this is no disrespect to the Raiders.
I I think, uh, again, we were pretty.
I'm not going to say hi on them.
Uh, that's certainly not what we're saying, but we were confident in them taking a step forward.
And there's certainly a tougher matchup.
I I just think, combined with how the Patriots played on Sunday Night football, Uh, like you said, the Raiders propensity to give up passing yards and just offense in general, I I think this is gonna be a good combination for the Patriots, and I think they're gonna They're gonna win pretty comfortably in this one.
So, um, moving on The San Francisco Giants are who? The San Francisco 40 Niners? Not the Giants.
That's baseball are going to take on the New York football Giants.
Not the little giant set's a movie without Bundy in it.
And, hey, E, I just wanted to bring that up.
That's all I got to say, Uh, San Francisco.
I mean, uh, talk, talk about I mean, last week was we generally considered pretty much a terrible day across the board in the NFL when it comes to, uh, injuries.
I mean, so many players went down.
Uh, no team got hurt the most in terms of volume and severity of injury, a Z 40 Niners.
And fortunately for them, they had that happened.
I mean, again, not fortunate that happened, But fortunately, they were playing the Jets, so it allowed them to, you know, when that game with relative ease, despite the injuries on now they get to play the Giants.
So the reason I bring that up is Yeah, it's tough.
And I think a lot of expectations are that, you know, San Francisco, Where are they gonna be? What makes it even more tough is the fact that they're in the NFC West and you have Seahawks and you have the Cardinals both at two.
And right now, the 40 Niners, if they wanna have any chance of making the playoffs and overcoming these injuries, they just can't lose.
I mean, obviously, I'm exaggerating because those other teams will eventually lose.
But you know what I'm saying? You can't fall behind.
Ah, game or two.
I mean, you just you can't because I I do believe that the Cardinals and the Seahawks in particular are for Riel.
And yeah, so in this game, fortunately for them, uh, even with Nick Mullins under center, I believe that's official. Correct.
Jimmy G is out for the for the game.
I do think that they're going to beat the Giants, and I do think, um, it's gonna look ugly.
I mean, let's be really I mean, the Giants aren't a great team, but Game one without all these key players, I think San Francisco is gonna look drastically different.
But I will give them the edge.
I do think they win 17 to 16 a lot of one on one score games here or we're really, dangerously coming close to, like, you know, you copied off the paper here type of the day.
But I have San Francisco winning a razor thin game as well.
I have the winning 17 to 14 over the Giants.
Yeah, I believe it is official that McMullen's will be, you know, taking snaps in place of Jimmy Garoppolo.
Obviously, there's a lot of injuries on both sides of the ball for San Francisco, but I do believe that they have enough pedigree to be able to pull this one out.
And I just think a Giants team right now that is definitely missing, Say, Kwan Barkley.
You can't miss that as well, for all of the injuries that San Francisco has, and there are a lot of them Theo injury to say Kwan Barkley decimates the Giants ability to be able to move the football.
Ah, lot of pressure on Daniel Jones.
I think the kid is up for some of it, but I do think it's a little early in his career right now for it as well.
So San Francisco, take this 1 17 14.
Look, the the expectations for this team weren't high to begin with.
So I mean, we're not talking about a team that was, you know, may be expected to compete for a division title all of a sudden, now there, you know, and to and kind of looking like No, that's I don't think anyone thought that they were going to be that good this year.
I mean, maybe they win a couple fun games and you have some hope for the future.
But no, say Kwan and that that's brutal and that that hurts Daniel Jones a lot, because again, he's a developing quarterback.
And when you're developing quarterback and you have a guy like say, Kwan behind you, that helps.
That helps quite a bit, even on a bad team.
So, um, speaking of bad teams on, if if we were looking at the schedule heading into the season, you would think I was gonna say the Bengals in this next match up.
But the Eagles are just bad.
I mean, I've seen just just bad football from the Eagles.
The first two weeks of the season.
Lot coming from Carson Wentz.
And that's that is a huge issue for this team.
Because guess what, Nick Foles isn't walking through that door.
Um, maybe, actually, maybe the bears cut Nick Foles who know something.
I'm obviously just kind of joking, but, um, yeah, Dove falls on and And look, I think the Bengals have been and deservedly so been a laughing stock team of the NFL for quite some time.
But I like, you know, I like what I've seen from Joe Burrow so far.
I mean, he's a young quarterback who's gonna make mistakes, but I don't think there's any number of mistakes that are gonna be made for them to lose the Eagles this week.
And I just don't because I think Carson Wentz will, if anything match him mistake, miss for mistake.
And, uh, it Z, I don't know.
It's just it's it's not.
It's not good football being played in Philadelphia right now.
And if I was an Eagles fan, um, the only thing that would excite me is the prospect of all Sean Jeffrey eventually suiting up again.
I don't think it's gonna be this weekend, but maybe next, since he's back on the practice field.
So I got Cincinnati winning this 1 28 to 13.
I have the Eagles winning this one, and I know that's a very unpopular, you know, getting kind of roasted for that on social media, thinking that the Eagles are gonna be able to pull this one out.
And look, there's a lot to like about how the Bengals air playing.
This is not a disrespect to them.
I think it's a pride thing for Philly.
I think they're playing in front of their home crowd.
I do think Carson Wentz still has some good football left in him, as Mr Miyagi would say.
Now, time let out now it's the time to let it out.
So now you've got to do it.
And I think he does.
I think he does just enough to carry the Philadelphia Eagles over the Cincinnati Bengals this week.
I like the Eagles in this 1 24 to 21 by a field goal.
All right, all right.
So we got we got Houston, we got them traveling to Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh's too, and, Oh, um, I think, Obviously, I think we think very highly of their defense.
And, uh, you know, I feel like I'm going to regret this.
I'm going to regret this.
And maybe it's just the caffeine that I've had so far.
And the more caffeine I'm about to have in just a second.
That's get me, you know, kind of pumped up.
But I think Houston pulse and upset now.
I don't think this upset is a indication, um, that they're on the right track.
I just think this is one of those you know.
It's any given Sunday.
So let's be clear.
I'm not all of a sudden saying, Oh, I have faith in the Texans Know I still don't.
If this were if this were a Sunday night, if this were a Sunday night game, a Thursday night game, a Monday night game, a playoff game, I I would I would pick Pittsburgh hand down because I think the Texans would fold.
In this case, though, I think they get a little lucky and get the best of Pittsburgh at home.
Surprisingly, but without fans.
I'm reading the wrong one again.
Houston 28 Pittsburgh 26.
Weird score, but I like it interesting.
I admire your zeal, but I think you're misguided on this one.
Pittsburgh is playing so well on both sides of the ball right now.
I love the way their defense is playing.
I really like the way their offense is playing as well.
Last year, Pittsburgh did have a good defense.
Their offense is essentially what let them down now, with Ben Roethlisberger proving he can still sling the football, getting production out of his running backs, getting production out of his wide receivers.
Even the tight end position with the addition of Eric Ebron has been a positive with this team.
I like the way the Steelers were playing right now, and I think they go up.
I actually think they double up the Houston, Texas, this week, who just to me look lost.
Um, I like Pittsburgh and this 1 28 to 14.
Okay, alright, good.
I like the disagreement cause it's gonna it's gonna make it for ah, better come back for me when I overtake you.
After this week.
Um, next we got the Colts hosting the New York Jets.
I think I think we might have to have just realize that there are people in Jersey right now that are probably like there are no, you know what? But deep down, deep down, they understand.
I mean, they know.
Come on. Come on.
Is any please? If there's a Jets fan out there, I I encourage you call us right now.
I'll extend the show if I have a 606263108882626310888 to give us a call.
Let us know what you think.
Do you agree with me? Do you want my address so you can come? Uh, come get me.
I'll certainly give it to you.
I live in Rhode Island, by the way, Johnston, I'll get you the address later.
Uh, no, actually, I have the address.
I believe I'll let you guys know I'll post it online.
Right, Mike? I mean my I guess. No.
Um, no, I, uh Anyways, clearly, I have no faith into jets, and I'm gonna pick them to lose every single week.
I mean, I guarantee you right now, I will vow to pick them to lose every single week, even thereby leak.
I will pick them to you. Lose on.
I'll take the L if I'm wrong.
Uh, but I got the Colts winning pretty big on this 1.
Yeah, I got the I got the Colts winning pretty big in this one as well.
I have them taking this 1 34 to 14.
Perfect opportunity for Philip Rivers to write any of the inequities that he's been dealing with for the first couple of weeks.
I think in these defense shows up and again, I just think this is an opportunity for them to pounce the Jets.
I mean again, when you're a jet, you're a jet all the way.
And I don't know what you know.
The chances are of Adam Gates making it through this season.
I really you know, I think that's that's probably a better odd Thio.
Think of about 140.0.
Thank you for absolutely.
That is that is absolutely right.
Big win for the for the Indianapolis Colts this weekend.
I don't see the Jets being able to take this one at all.
Yeah, and And if you guys want more in depth breakdown on this game, of course, check out the full press Jets podcast and debut of or the re debut of the full press Colts podcast with new host Jay Stephens.
It just dropped this morning, so yeah, check it out.
Next we got Carolina.
Oh, and to coming off a loss to the Bucks, heading to Los Angeles to face the Chargers.
Philip Rivers, Former team.
Um, uh, obviously there's a lot going on with the Charter's.
We know the story that's coming out with how Tyrod Taylor injured himself.
I let me rephrase that he did not injure himself.
How his doctor injured him by puncturing his lung while trying to give him an injection.
And, you know, if you've seen the laundry list of issues this doctor has had, you sit there and scratch your head as to why he was anywhere near a professional football teams training facility.
But that's a discussion for another day when we have some more details on the situation.
Ah, Robert looked good last week.
I mean, they came very close to beating the Chiefs.
And, you know, unfortunately, uh, perhaps the interception, uh, in the Chiefs end zone or close to the end zone was ultimately what lost the game for the Chargers.
But it's hard to fault Justin Herbert, because again, I mean, he made his first start, you know, finding out about 10 minutes before, so you've got to tip your hat to him.
I think he's gonna have another solid game in his second start because obviously Tyrod Taylor will not be there.
I got the charges winning this a pretty close game.
Pretty close. 21 to 17.
Yeah, and the charges winning this one as well.
I thought Justin Herbert looks very good last week.
And look, I think a lot of times people forget about the charges defense and how good they are in the front seven when it comes to the pass rush.
And you know Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa still providing one of the best 1 to 2 combinations in the game today.
So I like the charges in this game.
I do think they show up.
I don't think it's gonna be a very, um I have.
I have the Chargers beating the Carolina Panthers, 21 17 in this one.
But I think that this this is an opportunity for Herbert to continue to build on a strong showing in his first game.
And I think he'll continue that this week.
No, I'm I'm excited to see it, uh, Arizona again, another team that we were both very high on, uh, taking on Detroit.
And you know what? I don't think it's gonna be close at all, e think Arizona is going to handled the Lions and and Yeah, I mean it, Zim.
Press it because it's Arizona.
We're still trying to figure out what Arizona is.
Uh, you know, obviously, at the end of day, not too many teams are getting excited about blowing out the lions.
But I think for Arizona, this is gonna be, you know, another key.
Step forward for them.
Um, I got them winning 31 to 24.
Potential big game for the Arizona Cardinals again.
We're very much like minded in this e Have the Cardinals coming out on top on this 1.
Just think that there's a lot of firepower in this offense.
I think the defense is playing solid.
Uh, they let up a couple of points against Matt Stafford without any question, but I do like Arizona and this one on both sides, and I think they win it by 10.
Next, we have Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
I mean, I think this'll is probably the longest we've gone into a show without mentioning Tom Brady.
Did we mention Tom Brady yet? E feel like that's impressive.
That's a record 52 minutes.
Um, anyways, go into Denver.
A look we all know about the Patriots and the Brady and going to Denver and how it's its's.
It's never been quite, you know, the joyous occasion, although I will to this.
I said yesterday that I might put 28 to 3 on my gravestone.
Well, right below it, I'm gonna put it was a touchback because obviously it's a horrible, horrible memory of Tom Brady's first loss as a New England Patriot in the playoffs.
But that's beside the point, I think Tampa Bay against a back up quarterback.
I don't know who is their starter.
I e should have probably checked this out, didn't they signed Braca? Uh Barack, Not Barack Blake.
I'm sure he's not starting, but obviously Drew Lock is out.
Um, I will, uh I apologize.
Broncos fans. I did not.
I did not look into this.
Okay, what do we got here? Uh, Jeff Driskel.
There we go. That's the name Driscoll.
Uh, Jeff Driskel will be making the start.
I look, I think Tampa's starting to hit their stride.
By all accounts, Chris Godwin should be back in the lineup.
We saw a vast improvement in their fluidity on a fence last week, and I think you're starting to see a lot of playmakers on defense.
And I think there's going to be just a ah ah, hand A pretty easy win for the bucks.
You know, when when you knew the patriots gonna go in and handle the opponent because they just weren't good.
And on top of that, they weren't good, But they also, like, played the same type of defense like zone defense that you knew the patriots shredded all the time.
You know what I mean? Well, you just go in.
You're just like okay, They're just gonna run over him.
And by the end of the day, it's 38 to 10.
Well, um, I got the bucks winning 38 to 10. I e.
I mean, what I was getting at, you know, I just think this is gonna be a situation where I think, uh, on all cylinders.
I think especially the offense is gonna click.
And I think the defense is just gonna enjoy the fairly comfortable day.
So yeah, the bucks big in this one.
I think you're starting to see them hit their stride.
I think you're going to see that.
Even though it's on the road this week, I still think Tom Brady does his thing and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense finds their stride.
I like them in this 1 35 to 14 over the Broncos.
Alright, Dallas coming off the thrilling come from behind victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Go into Seattle.
Uh, I think this is gonna be a good game.
I think it has a chance to be close, but I don't think that there's any chance that Seattle loses.
And I'm thinking, you know, e I feel like it's gonna be a pretty high scoring game because it's good at Seattle's offense has been the defense has given up points, obviously, to the Patriots and then the week before.
So I'm gonna go Seattle with this, But I'm also gonna go 31 to 27.
I think this is gonna be actually a little bit even high, scoring more high scoring than that.
Um, I like the way these two teams are gonna match up offensively.
We talked about an offensive explosion.
I think you see that this weekend from both teams.
Both defense is, I believe, do have some inequities that allows the opposing quarterback to take advantage of them.
But when you're gonna go head to head as much as I have respect and like Dak Prescott, I'm going. Russell Wilson.
Every time Seattle takes this 1 38 to 30 over to New Orleans, take on Let's and look.
I talked about Drew Brees at length, and you know, I'm not gonna rehash that, but I do think that New Orleans is at a bit of a crossroads right now, and you add in the fact that it doesn't look like Michael Thomas is going to go again.
I got Green Bay went in pretty easily in this 1.
34 2 24 on and on a side note, I think a lot of those points from New Orleans comes late.
So I again I think that they're going to struggle mightily on offense until late when the game is out of hand and, you know, hey, garbage time.
Yeah, I dio I mean, technically, if you want my really, like, unofficial pick on this, I think the legitimate points are gonna be Green Bay 35 New Orleans 20.
I have the final score, 35 to 27 Green Bay over in New Orleans because again, I think you know they're able to pick up a touchdown in garbage time.
But yeah, I just like the way Green Bay is playing, especially on offense right now.
For all that talk about no offensive weapons in Green Bay around Aaron Rodgers, he's looking, you know, very, very solid when it comes to the running game, he's finding guys that could get open that can make plays, and I think Green Bay's defense is gonna have enough to be able to control Drew Brees for the better part. of this game.
So yeah, I like I think you're a breeze is going to do enough to contain your breeze for the better part of this game.
But, hey, I don't want to take too many shots.
Besides, the ones have already taken.
We'll save our picks for Kansas City.
