All right, Here we go.
What is going on? Everybody, welcome back.
Thanks for joining me today.
I'm really excited.
I feel I feel like I'm on.
Ah, caffeine Rush right now. Feel.
I feel good, man.
Feel good. Feel good about fantasy.
Feel good about football.
Feel good about life.
I'm really excited to start talking to you guys about running backs today.
It's probably my favorite position to break down in DFS.
I've had a lot of luck with them recently.
If you guys join my hit Mrs From last week, I kind of went over the running backs that I went on a hit on from DFS week to guys like Erin Jones, Jonathan Taylor, David Montgomery.
So there is a lot to cover today.
There's a lot of guys that I really like for this week.
Give me just one second to get this all shared out to the Twitter, the Twitter, um, and we could start breaking them down.
Like said there was that There is a ton of really good running backs and a lot of good matchups this week.
It's really hard, you know, to pick the four that I try to stick with, But I did my best.
We'll talk about some other ones a little less and death.
I have four guys that I'm gonna talk pretty in depth here in a second.
Um, you mean 10 seconds and we will get going Hopeful.
Everybody's having a good week.
Hopefully, all your waiver claims went through and all right, let's get going.
Let's just go ahead and get started because, like I said, there's a ton of running back.
So I really want to talk about today.
So we're going to start off and I'm going to start with this, um, Carolina and Chargers game right off the bat.
There is a ton of value here, much like the Arizona Cardinals last year, where you started all your tight ends against Arizona until proven otherwise.
You start your running backs against Carolina, and I'm putting Joshua Kelly and Austin Meckler in all of my lineups.
I think they both offer both about the same equal upside Justin Herbert.
The news came out today that Justin Herbert is anticipating to start this week.
That is really good frosting.
Meckler Um it was last week.
Have the staff right here that awesome Meckler um, you know, week one, he didn't have the targets and he was able to get the targets last week.
A guy that I like a lot, I'm really going for price wise is Joshua Kelly is priced at 5000 and also Necklace priced at 6800.
I'm gonna kind of talk to these guys a little intertwine a little bit, but if you look at the matchup, it's a 44 point over under.
A is actually favored by 6.5 versus Carolina.
And I think this has a lot to do. We should.
We could see that line even move a little further with how well Herbert performed and Christian McCaffrey being out S o I like Joshua Kelly a lot this week.
If you look at this first two games, weak ones.
He had 12 attempts for 60 yards and the touchdown.
And then last week, where they played the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Chiefs of pretty solid defense.
He only had 23 carry on 23 carries, only 64 yards, but he had two big receptions for 49 yards total.
So you know, I like that a lot for him.
He's getting the volume, right.
And if you look at what Austin Nuclear was able to do, You know, week one, Joshua Kelly had only 12 attempts to Austin.
Eh, Colors. Um, 19.
And then we saw it, like last week.
You know, Austin Echo actually outpaced.
Uh, Joshua Kelly actually outpaced Austin Heckler and carries.
So we know that Austin Heckler is a dynamic wide receiver.
But when it's time to grind it out and trying to run the clock out like we saw against Kansas City, they're going to give the ball to Joshua Kelly, and I don't think they're gonna be shy about it.
You look at what Carolina has given up in week one.
They were okay against Josh Jacobs, you know, 25 carries for 93 yards, but he had three touchdowns.
So in the end, they couldn't stop him getting out of the end zone.
And then last week, a guy like a lot and Ronald Jones just based on the matchup, he had seven for 23 a touchdown, and he had that.
Basically, I think on the first of the second drive, you know, he was well on his way to a good fantasy day, had the fumble miscommunication with Tom Brady, and then Leonard Fournette comes in and has a really big touchdown run, but he still had 12 for one of three and two touchdowns.
So you look at what you know, this this defense for Carolina, and I've mentioned it before.
Maybe last week.
You know, they only they're the only team in, like, the modern era to spend all of their draft picks on defense.
They have the youngest age defense of age by like a player basis in the NFL.
They're inexperienced to have a new head coach, new philosophy coming in.
You know, they lost Luke Keathley, and, uh, you know, I just think it's a really good match.
I'm trying to pull up the THEHYPERFIX game right here that have in front of me.
Austin Echo had 16 carries for 93 yards.
Joshua Kelly had 23 carries for 64 yards, although Austin Heckler is getting you know, more of the targets.
He had four last week for 55 yards.
That's the reason I like Justin Herbert in there is he's going to target the running back more than Tyrod Taylor.
We that was the biggest concern is well, Austin Echo had a ton of carries.
Week one. He had no targets.
It's going to be the Austin Nuclear Melvin Gordon mold.
Anthony Lynn is still the head coach.
It's still the same offensive philosophy.
And both of those guys were, you know, relevant for fantasy two years ago.
And then last year, Austin kind of broke out of him and Melvin Gordon really a 50 50 split, and I think we're starting to see that with Joshua Kelly.
I guess that at 5000 at RB 28 I think he's worth the flyer right at that pricing, you're you're not really getting in other guys.
You're getting in that price range like Jared Cannon.
He's been great on his six touches a game, but is he going to get the volume? We know Joshua Kelly is going to get the volume.
We know also necklace probably going to get the passing attempts.
And the fact that their favorite by 6.
5 points on Lee further dictates that they expect to be up pretty early and their defense is solid enough against Carolina that without Christian McCaffrey, you know they could have some drives that end up pretty short.
And I think that's what you know Vegas is expecting.
That's what Draftkings is expecting.
And that's kind of what I expect to that.
Maybe the offensive weapons, the wide receivers You could finally see that courtesy annual breakout game that everyone's you know, kind of been waiting for you, either on it or not.
But it sets a really well for Joshua Kelly, where they just need to grind the clock out in the second half.
And I think that bodes well for your fantasy team in both.
Well, really Well, for your GFs lineups to the point that you know I'm not anymore.
But I was considering, you know, James Connor versus Joshua Kelly this week.
I have them both my redraft league.
I'm still going James Connor.
So I don't have you know, that much faith in there, but James Connors, the guy we're gonna talk about today, but these are two guys that I will throw in all my idea of s lineups in Austin that Kurt and Joshua Kelly Alright.
So, speaking of James Conner, I guess he's next on the list.
James Connors priced at 6700.
He's playing Houston.
Uh, you know, if you had him in, you know, season long leagues, Week one, you were very disappointed.
You know, he had the ankle injury, but last week he looked healthy.
And Benny Snell look terrible.
This it is Mawr of Benny Snell looks so bad that they're gonna be forced to just leave.
You know Connor in there until proven otherwise.
He had back to back fumbles for Benny Snell.
He's fumbled in back to back games, and I just don't think Mike Tomlin's like, Look, James Connor can play all three downs, Many smells beating, Taking out the first game when Benny Snell was going off and had 100 yards, It was Jaylen Samuels in there on the passing downs.
So what? James Connor back.
You're going to get the total package from him.
And if you look at the game so 45 point over under, Pitt is favored by four.
And let's look at what Houston allowed the first two weeks.
If you remember Week one that Thursday night football game, uh, Clyde Edwards Solar had 25 attempts for 138 yards and a touchdown.
On the flip side, Pat Mahomes Onley needed to throw 32 tents, completed 24 Onley, 32 attempts.
He didn't need to throw the ball.
Now let's go toe last week where they play the Ravens.
Uhm Mark Ingram, nine for 55 in a touchdown here.
That long 30 yard touchdown.
The end kind of saved his fantasy day.
You know, still those air that's a big run that he let up.
Guess Edwards, 10 for 73 then J K.
Dobbins had that really big running late in the game to for 48.
So you know, the Houston Texans are prone to allowing these, you know, big plays to pop off, and we've seen James Connor.
You know, if when he's on, he's on, you know when he's healthy and you know the offensive line is healthy and they give him the workload, which that's what the Steelers like to do.
You know, he's a top 67 famously back in the NFL.
It's just the health.
That's always the big concern.
But with many Snell, you know, fumbling the ball, they have full confidence.
Something in James Connor, at least for now.
While he's healthy, they're going to use them to the full extent and then, uh oh, and then to mention, you know, Patrick Mahomes going to throw the ball 32 times.
Lamar Jackson only through the ball 24 times.
So this is a reason why you know, I'm kind of fading. Ben Roethlisberger.
You know, I'll have some shares of Deontay Johnson because he's just had a really good price and he's becoming the target monster.
He's like one of the highest target, Um, has some of the most targets through the first two weeks of any NFL wide receiver.
I think he's top five more than juju, so I'm still willing to put some of these receivers in.
But I don't see Big Man as a player this week personally for me.
Um, yeah, and you know, that's all I got.
You know, James Connor had 16 for 106 and two touchdown touchdown, and then he had, you know, two targets.
So, you know, looks looks pretty good from his spot.
I really liked him this week.
Eso let's go into our next guys, Miles Sanders, I you know, much.
Like, you know, someone you know who was a big Miles Sanders man towards.
You know, getting closer to August.
I was all in on Miles Sanders.
You had the running backs coach.
I think he seems McAllister.
He was like, We want Miles Sanders to be the workhorse.
We want to put him in a position to where he's going to get, you know, 80% 90% of the running back touches and weak one.
You know, he had the injury.
Boston stock came through.
It didn't look good.
And that offense looked really bad.
But then last week, he looked he looked decent.
You know, He he looked really well against the Rams.
He had, you know, 20 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Get seven targets.
This is the big thing, right? If you look at Boston, Scott, he only had seven opportunities, four carries and three targets.
Miles Sanders had 27.
That is the separation you want.
That was the reason why last year it was always concerning that.
Oh, well, he always does just 50 50 split.
And it's like, well, but he's never had a guy like Miles Sanders.
And then, you know, they had the Jordan Howard experiment.
But then once Miles Sanders took over, They're like, Oh, you know, this guy can stay healthy.
He's great. And he had to scare in the first game.
You know, Miss, that they gave him the full workload.
It's a 46.5 over under.
Philly is favored by six, and I just think that is astounding.
Compare, you know, considering they can't block anybody for Carson wants to pass.
And Carson Wentz has four interceptions and I think two or three passing touchdowns.
So he is not looking good this year.
That offensive line is banged up.
I think Lane Johnson came back last week.
So, you know, I think this running game, if you look at what they did and you saw the Thursday Night Football game against the Browns.
They got to do basically whatever they wanted.
And you look it again.
Jalen Rigor, you know, came out about two hours ago.
He had a you see on the stump, he's out.
You know, 6 to 8 weeks he's gonna probably get put on the I r for at least, you know, three weeks minimum, and they're gonna come back late in the season.
So it is lines up really well for Miles Sanders and being a workhorse running back, Uh, another thing is whence Like I said, he's just not taking care of the ball.
Eight sacks and weak 12 interceptions against that Washington defense.
And then you look at what? Last week, he didn't take any *** on the range, But you had no the two interceptions.
So why not just, you know, put the bulk of the load on Miles Sanders, who allowed, you know, this defense that they're playing in Cincinnati and, you know, allow chuffing hunt to basically do whatever they wanted? You know, there's no reason.
And I thought I had there there.
So here's another reason.
So you look at what they did Week one right? Cincinnati played the Chargers.
Austin ****ler had 19 for 84 yards, 4.
4 yards per carry.
Joshua Kelly had 12 for 60.
We just talked with those guys earlier.
He averaged five yards per carry.
Looks great, you know, week when they just didn't have like the pure volume touchdowns that you wish they would have had.
Entire Taylor didn't look so great.
That's why they barely snuck away.
But the running it was working, the Browns were like, Hey, we got to fantastic running backs.
24 for Chub Hunt had 10 for 86.
And that doesn't count what Hunt was doing in the passing game.
You know, they were averaging 5.
6 yards per carry.
This is not a good run stopping defense.
Carson once has, you know, questions.
I think Miles Sanders is in for a really good breaking breakout game this week, which is why I like him a lot compared to some of these other guys.
He's gonna be probably, you know, my highest on running back right next to this guy that I'm coming to talk about.
Sorry is I, uh, take a drink here, Kenyan Drake.
I think this so you know, once a week I try to find that break out.
Last week, I was like, It's gonna be Erin Jones.
And then, you know that happened.
There's my little mini victory lap of the podcast.
I think Kenyan Drake.
This is going to be his week.
This is why you drafted him to be a top guy and let me give you kind of some stats of what's going down.
This is why I think Kenyan Drake is due for this breakout.
He's priced at 6000 versus the Lions.
That is fantastic.
Look at some of the other guys I was talking about.
Austin Heckler, 6800 Miles Sanders, 6400 James Connor, 6700 He's not giving the credit because he hasn't produced, but let's look at who he's played against.
Right? So they played against the 40 Niners, Week one and the Washington football team last week.
Who did they play? The 40 Niners played? Er sorry.
The Eagles Week one.
Played the Redskins right.
Boston Scott nine for 35.
Corey Clement six for 19.
They did really well against them.
And then you look at what you know Kenyan Drake did against, uh, the washing football team last week.
That's really good on the 86 yards.
Only two targets for two catches and nine.
I just think that I'm not to break this down for you again in the 40 Niners defense.
I just think the Washington football team is a very underrated defense.
I think we're kind of coming around to the idea that look, this is actually a very good defense.
This is what you're going to have to expect when you play these running backs against the Washington football team.
It's not the same old team that you used to be able to just run over any time you wanted.
And so let's look at the 40 Niners.
The 40 Niners played Frank Gore last week.
You know he's older, is it's running back, is running back.
So he had 21 attempts for only 63 yards in small J Samaje, Iran only had three for 17 yards.
So Kenyan Drake, these other two defense is.
They have shut down the running backs.
Kenyan Drake, I think, is in a fantastic opportunity against the Lions That allowed David Montgomery Ugo 13 attempts for 64 yards and then Tariq Owen in that same game, seven attempts for 41 yards and then you look at what they did last week against Aaron Jones is Detroit Lions defense.
They allowed Erin Jones to go 18 468 and then the back of Jamal Williams, eight for 63.
So I just think the Kenyan Drake, unfortunately, had a really rough two weeks going against the 40 Niners in Washington football team as a kind of sputtered through, getting these stats out.
I'm kind of scribbling so much information on my book here that I got a mixed up a little bit.
But you look at, you know, Boston's got corps comment there just subpart running back spring Gore subpart running backs.
But they got shut down.
And so you look at like, you know, Kenyan Drake in this offense, I think Kenyon drinks actually a really good running back.
The fact that he's getting 16 and 60 week one against the 40 Niners and then 20 and 80 for 86 Week two against the Washington football team.
He's getting the pure volume that you want.
He's only averaging two targets a game, but I think this is the week right.
Like the Lions haven't showed at all this year that they've been able to stop the run.
The 40 Niners, like to spread it out or the Arizona Cardinals like to spread it out a little bit.
So I think this is the breakout week for Kenyan Drake.
These prices 6000.
Hey, what's going on, Boss? Jeff, I just saw your message before, right when I hopped on.
Thanks for joining the chat.
Um, so yeah, and you look at the over under is a 45.
5 over under Arizona's favorite by five.
The last time I checked for these stats, I just think you look at what you want from your running backs and it's it's the upside.
And if you look the last five weeks for Kenyan Drake, he's shown you his upside from last year and you want the pure volume.
I mean and averaging 18 carries a game.
You know what else you could want? So those are the four guys you know, The Joshua Kelly Austin Meckler Boulder There.
James Connor, Miles Sanders, Kenyan Drake. Four guys.
I'm gonna be thrusting into my lineup this week because I kind of expected the have you.
It's a combination of low ownership, plus the breakout.
That's that's kind of where I'm going for this week, but we can look at some of these other ones I have.
I wanted to put in Jonathan Taylor in here on Lee because he's getting the workload week by week that you want versus the New York New York Jets defense.
You know, they looked decent against the run against Buffalo Week one.
Zack Moss, Devin Singletary weren't able that they weren't able toe do anything on the ground.
And then they played the 40 Niners and actually good run team.
And the first play of the game is like 80 yard run from a he Mostert.
Jerry MacKinnon makes place in this defense.
The Jets just They're not good.
They like talent.
He's unfortunately priced at six.
You know, 7000 is the running back six.
So you're gonna be in a tough position there to put him into your lineup.
But I think he's worth it if you want a pair him with some of these other guys that I'm gonna mention on the list.
Darryl Henderson, the running back for the Rams vs Buffalo.
I don't love the matchup.
I like the pricing at 5400, but you have to look at what we have here, right? Malcolm Brown's injured cam makers, I think, is most likely gonna miss this week and probably next with some cartilage issues on his ribs.
And Darryl Henderson had a really good week against a Philadelphia defense that is, you know, decent against the run.
But, you know, he kind of had that breakout game.
He's been there for two years now. He understands the offense.
McVeigh wants to run the ball.
And while I like to share a golf a lot last week with Tyler Higbee, there's my kind of, you know, my my tight end quarterback Stack.
I think they're going to want to control the clock against Buffalo because I think Josh Allen is just on fire and in the NFL, when you're having these really good years that Kim and Kyle I Mary, you're having that are kind of like breakout outlier years.
You need to control the clock is best you can.
I think Carol Henderson e think it gets a lot of opportunities this week.
Uh, I'm gonna only talk about Jerry MacKinnon for a second.
I was a big Jerry MacKinnon believer two years ago when he signed to the 40 Niners versus the New York Jets.
He feels like a trap.
Play a little bit.
I think you're going to see a guy like Jeff Wilson that can probably, you know, take over.
Jerry MacKinnon is only averaging, like like six opportunities per game the last two weeks.
Like, yes, it's a great story.
Yes, he's getting paid a lot of money.
Yes, you love to see him, you know, finally breaking out and coming out and like, Look, this was the running back that they paid them all this money to be.
But I'm looking at a statue of three carries for 24 yards in week 13 carries for 77 yards in Week two.
And then, you know, he had five targets a week.
One that's right.
Only one target last week, something.
But he's getting the big breakout plays.
And while you can't play that opportunity against the Giants, don't play this as a volume play.
I wish he would get the volume, but I would be I think it's like the over under.
I think I put 12 like, 12 opportunities for Jerick McKinnon, and that feels kind of low.
Now he's good enough to where he could just break one of those off.
But, you know, we've seen Tevin Coleman be very inefficient.
Maybe Tevin Coleman's just past his prime, and he's done now.
But he's, you know, we haven't you.
Just because it's the probably the best running scheme offense in the NFL doesn't always mean it's successful for everybody.
I think where he must have just been the outlier that you know anybody can come in and do this.
So I think we could see some Jeff Wilson, and they're kind of taking opportunities away from Jerick.
McKinnon and then Antonio Gibson finally had a good week last week.
Kind of showed a little bit of like who he could be against Arizona.
His prices, finally going up a little bit, is priced at 4700.
But you know they play Cleveland who is a very good run stopper, you know, or or the Cincinnati Bengals, or just preparing bad on offense further offensive line.
But, um, yeah, so So gridiron ratings here in the Chat said odds are no Jimmy G.
And no quick question Mark San Francisco's running backs.
Do you feel like a trap.
They let's just what I'm saying.
Like, I think it's gonna be a little inefficient for the running backs.
And like I said, the play is like, Go get dear McKinnon.
But this is kind of like what we saw with, like, the night, like Not not comparable, but like nine, Heinz had a big blow up game.
You know, Week one, Jerick.
McKinnon had a really, you know, good.
77 yards on three carries.
And then the touchdown last week, where you're like, go spend all your fabric, you know, put him in all your lineups.
He's gonna be, you know, the outlier break out.
I just you know, it it's gonna be really difficult, Especially whenever you don't have your core offense in there.
You know, maybe Jordan Reed does what he does again.
I really you know, I like Jordan Reed.
Hopefully, he just stays healthy.
But Antonio Gibson versus Cleveland is I think this is finally the week where you can start feeling comfortable putting him into your lineups.
And while the run a tent like why the rush attempts may not be with the upside of what you're going to see, you know he was.
He had, you know, 55 yards, 13 attempts.
I think what you need the most from Antonio Gibson is you need Dwayne Haskins to finally step up.
And I think he finally did last week a little bit when he finally started putting the voluntary McLaren's hands and Terry McLean had a big breakout week like Okay, last year wasn't just a fluke.
He is good as we think he is weak.
When he was just okay, you know, it was solid.
Terry MacLaren broke out now, um, Antonio Gibson and is priced at 4700.
I think you just kind of keep putting him into your lineup because once he has that breakout game and you don't know when it's going to be, he's going to be way over Price like.
I wouldn't be surprised if this week he finally, you know, gets the edge and breaks out for that.
You know, 45 yard touchdown run and ads on, you know, 33 catches for 30 yards, and now he's sitting at 20 points.
On the week he's going to be priced over 5400 he's gonna be closer to that.
You know? Kenyan Drake Price of 6000.
And that's when it's gonna be really hard to put him back into your lineup because the opportunity versus the price is just not going to be the same.
So all right, I think I'm done mumbling on here a little bit.
Hope you guys enjoyed some of the content.
There was a lot of the running backs.
I just really wanted to, you know? Joshua Kelly, Austin Meckler, James Connor, Miles Sanders, Kenyan Drake.
I really like Kenyan Drake this week.
If there's one thing that I'll stick my name to this week, it's Kenyan Drake.
I like the matchup.
I like the opportunities he's getting.
I'm not fading kind of Murray because I think you're gonna still have.
You know, the defense for the Lions is terrible, but I think you know, if I had to pick one that's going to have the better game.
I think Kenyan Drake outperforms kind of Murray this week and if you didn't get a chance, you know, go check out my yesterday's live show.
I talked about the quarterbacks I broke down.
Um, you know, you keep starting Josh Allen.
You keep starting Russell Wilson.
You should keep starting Kyler.
Murray, you keep starting deck.
You just put those guys in there and you know, you're you're probably pretty safe.
But Joe Burrow, Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford.
I think Matthew Stafford and Kenyan Drake, you're gonna be kind of the stars of this game, Arizona and the Lions.
5 over under, so you know, very good opportunity for them.
But you know, thanks so much, guys.
And instead of for the tips, I hope you guys are appreciating the content, and I will be back on tomorrow to talk wide receivers before the game. Probably about this time.
