would happen again once again.
To Lane, um, has on lead 24.
Nothing lead and just absolutely lot of evaporate.
Final score today. Too late.
Wins 27 Lose 27.
20 for the Navy.
So loses 27 24 2 Navy on the last second field goal.
So, unfortunately, it was just an absolute first half.
I'm gonna be honest with the first half.
We was rolling, but once navy got into the second half, they was absolutely just, um, playing on all selling this.
So we were second half.
We was absolutely trash in the second half.
I'll be honest with you.
I mean, I'm not gonna on lie.
It was a trashy performance in the second half.
We got to be better than this, folks.
We have to be better, because if we cannot, we're gonna play seven minutes next week.
And that is another game we're gonna wind up losing if we don't, um, get our heads out of our ass.
Is so once again your final score.
Um, Tulane losers 27 24 2 Navy today in Goldman Stadium.
So we'll go over.
We'll have the pregame show.
Let's go ahead and play the pregame show.
Excuse me, Two lane postgame.
We're very upset right now.
Get back to what we're doing to line postgame show versus David.
Let's go ahead and give you what's going on.
I am teach, uh, no. Wrong.
One 11 I don't know.
I'm pushing the wrong buttons.
I'm pushing the wrong, but keep pushing the wrong button.
I'm having a bad day.

And I'm gonna here in the booth with Steve Barriers.
We're gonna head down to the locker room and talk with head coach.
Coach Fritz will start.
Just big picture Coach.
Where do you begin after a game like this? Oh, it's a tough one. I'm very disappointed.
You know, it's kind of a tale of two has played well in the first half, you know? And then we just really fell apart in the second half and, you know, really, in all three phases, you know, offensively, we didn't didn't do anything in the second half.
Defensively gave up 27 points and, you know, I had some miscues and the kicking game, and you know it all the great field position we had in the first half we didn't have in the second half.
So really, really disappointing loss for you guys.
We kind of talked about during the broadcast, the offensive line defensive line.
That was the thing that really switched in the second half.
Navy was establishing much more presence and control on the line of scrimmage.
Did you noticing anything in particular during the second half that Navy was able to make an adjustment and start to win some of those battles.
Then they put the other quarterback in and they did a nice job of changing up, going out of a gun and then also going under center and going back and forth, and they did a good job of play action.
We lost our lost our receivers quite a few times.
They hit us on some deep balls, and, you know, it's a really nice job of keeping us off balance defensively in the second half.
Keyon Howard had a difficult afternoon here today, miss some open throws.
How do you start to break down the performance for Cheon again? He made some good throws, made some good decisions, but at times miss some open receivers as well.
You know, it's a tough game for me, you know.
The thing we just got to get him to realize is, you know, it doesn't have to win the game for us.
Just make the play, that's her.
And you know, there's a big one there at four.
Halftime? Uh, so you know, you're to get all the bullets flying out there, and sometimes it makes it tough toe.
You see what you should be doing? Coach, you mentioned about the change, that quarterback did You all expect Xavier to play as much as he did? And then they're coming in with Morris.
You know, we heard that there was a little quarterback controversy and we thought either seven or eight would play. They started with seven.
He had a tough time early in the ballgame.
They went with number eight.
And, you know, I thought that kid didn't did an excellent job running the offense and, you know, they just did a really good job of keeping us off balance big time.
You know, Coach were able to hear the locker room before you're able to jump on headset.
I think I heard a very passionate I think it was DeAndre Williams without sharing obviously everything he was saying, I guess just can you give us a sense of kind of the mood of the upperclassmen in that locker room and the message that they're trying to convey to the entire squad? Oh, there's very disappointed, You know, it, Z, it's gonna be able to finish games, you know, we finished last week and we were the exact opposite this week.
Uh, walk us through the final.
You guys were able Thio kinda get the ball moving a little bit down the field.
How did you try to size up a za coaching staff? What you wanted to execute in the final five minutes of this ball game when it's taught about 24 you guys get the football, we have a good job of driving the ball ball down the field.
And it was a go, you know, with our ****ytics there at the end.
You know, unfortunately, we through a deep and just was a little bit far, you know, over his fingertips.
But, you know, just didn't continue to keep making the plays that we needed to make.
And you know, that's Ah, that's Ah, a tough one to try to convert on 1/4 and four.
How much more physical did you find Navy to be in the second half of this ball game? Oh, I don't think there was that much more I think we gave.
We breathe life into him and they started getting We're hanging on toe hold on the wind and I'll make mistake's rather than getting after it and continue to keep going.
And that's where the disappointment things.
And, you know, we just played really poorly in the second half and, you know, basically playing not to lose instead of playing a win.
And, uh, okay, Coach, I'll leave you on this one.
Ever the guy that's trying to turn the page and be positive for the next week.
What message? What sort of thoughts do you think you'll you'll bring? Your team is you prep for Southern Miss next Saturday.
Well, we gotta turn the page.
That's what we gotta do for sure.
You know, we gotta get some guys healthy.
We gotta get guys back out here and able to play and and, uh, you know, we gotta get everybody to bounce back.
You know? It's a tough one.
This is a tough pill to swallow, though, Coach.
Thank you for your time. Thank you.
Alright, final score 27 24 will step aside in just a second.
But Steve, just some immediate thoughts on what coach had to say as you think about this game at this point, Well, as he said, It's it's a very tough pill to swallow, and, uh, he really said it best when he said it was just an exact reversal of what happened last week, you know, down 24 to 6 halfway through the third quarter, coming back to win that game, scoring 21 unanswered but allowing Navy to score 27 unanswered and not been able to put any points on the board themselves.
It's, uh, it's gonna take a little while to get over this one, and it really is.
Yeah, there's no doubt we sort of felt that way.
Ah, season to go with the Navy game, didn't we? We felt like it was going to take a little time to get over the Navy game on.
The task for the coaching staff is to not let one game become two or three games for this Tulane team.
You've got a beautiful opponent up the road in Hattiesburg next week.
Got to focus on that one.
Well, step aside. Comeback.

We're not catching the ball.
They were just going over the heads and some of them were dropping the football.
I mean, that is something we cannot do.
We cannot allow toe happen on continue Thio allowed toe happen.
Because that's something um, that's gonna have thio stop.
Because what? We're gonna be going in tow conference play once this suburb.

We're going to see if we can bounce back um, in that game, because last year we won that game 32 13.

Um um, once the postgame interviews over So once again, thanks for joining us.
We appreciate you coming in for the two lane post game show.
We will have this every time on, um, stream yard.
So stream yard, we will be on stream yard for the foreseeable future.
We cannot get any feeds from O. B s.
So we have to use strain yard.
So once again, let's get back to the to link postgame coverage from I m t College.
I am the network.
Let's go ahead and do that.
DeAndre, if you can hear me at any point here.
Just, uh, let me know, and we'll bring you into the conversation here.
Uh, Steve, some of the key moments in this ballgame that kind of jump out to you.
I think one we talked about on this broadcast was just the fact that two Lane had the opportunity at the end of the first half.
It was Dr Thing not saying too late needs to score a touchdown or by any means that that moment decided the ballgame.
But if two Lane doesn't throw the interception, maybe gets a field goal or touchdown, uh, the Navy moved to the locker room could have been wildly different, No doubt.
I think that would have been kind of like the, uh, you know, just the to break their back.
If we go in, you know, we score there when we we go up, you know, by four touchdowns ITT's gonna and then plus, we get the ball to start the second half, but that that was a big switch.
And then, of course, you know Morris, he comes in and you know, he does a great job.
He's six of 11 for 139 yards and a touchdown throwing the football and that is just not really navies cup of tea.
But they just pulled that up and he responded tremendously.
And I think they're passing game just totally upset us.
DeAndre Williams, can you hear us down there in the locker room? Yes, sir.
Alright, DeAndre, I appreciate you talking with us after what is a very difficult loss for you guys.
Let's just begin there.
I think we heard you on the headset talking to the team again. Not Thio.
Say specifically what you told the team.
But the message that you're attempting to convey, uh, to everyone, the underclassmen about what you believe Tulane football can be and why this didn't meet the standard.
Um, it's just that we had a real upset and lost a day.
We worked real hard, especially.
Everybody in this program work extremely hard for these opportunities, and we can't let him slip away like that.
Um, a lot of people didn't even know we're gonna have a season, and we're blessed to have one, and we cannot let the opportunity slip away from us like it did today.
And that's just what I'm trying to let everybody know that it was a team most you know, we gotta do better as a unit and closing out games.
It's just it's just a tough around, I guess.
I apologize for the simplistic question, but what was so different for you guys in the second half? And I guess specifically from the defensive standpoint, as you adjusted to the changes that Navy was making offensively, well, they came out another quarterback and they did some things that made us adjust to him, and way just wasn't in the right position. I'm guessing.
I know up front and on the back end, we gotta make sure that we're on the same page at all times to make sure that big players don't happen.
We eliminate um, big plays from happening.
We'll be able to hold those guys without What's the difference? Stylistically between Morris was the guy that came in that quarterback number eight and our line was the guy that started the ball game.
Why were they different? How are they different for us? A defensive lineman? Um, not really much different for us.
I think it was just how Navy felt about those two quarterbacks.
I guess they felt Morris, uh, the second quarterback that came in, I guess they felt he was a better passer.
Maybe I'm not sure, but that's what they came out doing more to us in the second half.
Uh, they seem to go to the fullback, dive a lot more in that second half.
A swell is that accurate? Because Carothers, who we know from a season ago, is much more active in this ballgame.
Yeah, they they had us on a on a few of those things and got some first downs, and I think they scored on one of them.
Is just like I said, we got to make sure that we're in position at all the time.
You know, we can stuff him and stuff him and stuff him and then bam.
One person gets out of position for a split second and then it's a touchdown with those are the things we way make sure we have to eliminate in these type of ball games.
And I'm just saying this for the sake of clarity, because it is truly a team defensive effort, because if any one person isn't where they need to be.
It could be a big play for them.
Especially when they're able to hit on, you know? So 15 20 yard passes, it truly takes 11 guys against the Navy at all times for 60 minutes.
To be in pinpoint spots where they need to be.
We gotta make sure that we don't point on every snap against those guys.
Because one bus one, the steak, one person out of place.
It's a team thing.
It was 11 people until we got to make sure that we all in position, um, to make plays and doing our job.
Aziz, leader for this crew.
What message do you think you're gonna take to your guys that you look forward to Southern Miss throughout the course of this week? Uh, just a 24 hour room, and we can't really dwell on this loss.
It was tough, but we know what we have to do.
Um, we got to get back, and we gotta work and ground like we do like we've been doing, you know, it's just It's just a tough loss, DeAndre.
Thank you so much for your time.
Appreciate it. Thank you.
All right, So Andrew Allegretti here in the booth with Steve Barrios was to wrap up a 27 24 victory for the Navy.
Midshipmen is the mid Goto one and one of the season two lanes, still one and one on the season.
We'll wrap things up here from site and then let Victoria Conway take it the rest of the way.
Keep in mind that we will record a post game ****ysis podcast that you could take a look on.
Listen for on the currents called the current, you can find it on apple podcasts.
Spotify will have that up for you over the course of the next day or so.
Uh, it's not gonna be a fun one to record here, Steve, but just just some of the thoughts as you walk away from this game for the Green Wave.
There's so much to absorb in this ballgame.
What one of the first couple of things that come to your mind? Well, the first couple of things.
I guess the number one would be the the way that Navy was able to dominate the line of scrimmage in the second half.
The way to Lane dominated the line of scrimmage in the first half and then, uh, Navy hit their passing game.
Just I think that's what really took us out of the football game.
You know, their quarterback Morris comes in in the second half goes 64 11 439 yards and the touchdown.
And that is something that no one saw coming against this Navy team.
Yeah, not in the slightest.
And look the next point that I'm gonna bring up.
By no means do I think that this was the reason that Tulane lost the football game.
It's just there's a level of irony to the way that the last five minutes played out here today as it played out Ah, year ago, because I remember specifically a year ago to Lane marching down the field consistently and looking like it was gonna overtake Navy and Navy needed something to slow down the offense and a year ago, again in isolation.
When any one player goes down, you don't want to raise a red flag of something nefarious because that singular players certainly could be injured.
It was the repetition of that particular act that caused a level of frustration on then you tack that onto the final five minutes of this game, when we see Camp Carroll rip off a run, rip off a run, rip off a run and then all of a sudden Marshall, their striker is on the turf.
He's also back into the ballgame at his next available play.
Okay, not the reason to Lane struggles.
The reason to Lane loses this ballgame, but is one of those things that you go.
It's just a frustration point.
I don't know what you do about it, but to see the game end almost identically from one season to the next in parts, just throwing it in there, not the reason, but in parts because of something that makes you go.
There's a frustration there, and I doubt about it.
I just said, You know, affair that.
It's just, you know, how ironic is it that Tulane loses two Navy the exact same way two years in a row? It's just it's just uncanny, but pretty much that's exactly what happened today.
Now season to go 48 yards from Nichols, who was then a freshman, now a sop****re.
Today, 33 yards into the wind into the rain, and he knocks through a pair of field goals to beat the wave back to back seasons.
Once again, Our final score from uptown New Orleans, 27 24 2 Lane goes to one and one on the season.
Uh, don't forget.
Next week it's two lane vs Southern Miss.
That is now a 12 30 start Time for our broadcast kick off at 1 30.
They moved that game up from I think six o'clock to 1.
30 is the kickoff, so pay attention to that are too late.
Sports network broadcast will be on the air starting at 12.
30 for Jimmy ORT Know Steve Barias Jason Trosclair Alden hag Adore My name is Andrew out of gonna Thanks so much for listening.
But don't go anywhere.
The Capital One postgame show continues in just a moment Back inside the capital One studios with Victoria Conway after this, okay for a new now, at my idea of a perfect time to change up your style and enjoy big savings.
A designer glasses like $145 for a complete pair of Valentino's and more A place about two lane.
I'm gonna go back to the screen.
I'm gonna have it up on my screen.
Give me one second to get it up.
We'll have it up on the screen for you.
So I'm gonna go through the scoring place here.
Once again, Let's go through the scoring drives.
Um, in the in the game.
Let's begin with the scoring.
Players will be pulling up the scoring drives.
Okay, the first score.
Lane had a five place, 66 yard drive.
Can cower from three yards out there.
That seven and nothing America Lover kicked a 22 yard field goal that was on 14 plays, 54 yards, five minutes and 55 seconds off the time of possession.
Your score was 10.
Nothing also, um, what's had a three yard run for a touchdown that was on 11th place.
63 yards. Made a 17. Nothing.
So we was up 17.
And then camp Carroll, um, had a seven play 93 R Dr 24 yard tons touchdown three or one on the time of possession.
So it was 20 for nothing and Davey scored, uh, in the game they scored.
David had a touchdown.
Nelson Smith, the, uh, young man had two scores.
He had a one yard touchdown.
Made it 24 to 7.
So Nelson Smith scored on that one.
And then Nelson Smith again from one yards out.
That was on six plays, 61 yards.
Um, two minutes and 23 seconds made a 24 14.
Then, um, Navy got a safety.
That was an uncalled for run by, um, cow getting buried in the end zone.
Eso I'll be honest with you.
That was just absolutely trash.
You look at it once again, it was 24 16 and then two lane, um Then Navy kicked the field goal was a 24 yard, 32 yard attempt.
It was on six plays, 57 yards, two minutes and one seconds tied up in 24.
And then, um once again, Davis kicked the 33 yard field goal for the game winner.
So once again, your final score 27 24 it's your final score. 4.
So they did outscored, um to line a lot of a lot of the nothing in the fourth quarter.
16 nothing in the third quarter.
So they did score points.
And, um, 3rd and 4th quarter for that game.
So let's go over to the stats Will give you the stat numbers.
I'm gonna give you some stat numbers.
I'll pull it up on the screen.
Just that number breakdown.
Let's give you some comparison numbers I'm gonna give you.
Yeah, Third quarter stats.
Okay, let's give you those third quarter numbers and get those third quarter numbers up on the screen.
Switch them over.
Okay, Let's give you those third quarter stats and write data at the bottom of your screen.
We'll give you those numbers.
They had 191 yards total in the third quarter.
They had 18 runs for 106 yards, but, uh, Navy, uh, two lane had seven carries for 10 yards, so that wasn't good passing.
Navy had 85 yards passing for six.
Um, they have one penalty in that third quarter.
Also, first down, they had eight, uh, two. Nothing.
So to line did not convert on third downs that went over four in the third quarter.
Also, let's see total plays.
Two Lane had 13 total plays.
Navy had 20 for the third quarter.
Also, Tom a possession 10 or nine for Navy.
So they had the ball more times than than that.
Um, fourth quarter stats will go through the fourth quarter stats.
A lot of enough in, uh was the through three quarters.
They had 307 yards to maybe had to 50.
So they went up. They had to 50 in total.
They ran the ball 40 times.
We're just getting a bomb in.
Aided by that run plays by Navy.
They ran in 40 times.
They ran the fullback dive.
And that z they're known for that.
Also, they passed for 99 yards to laying 108.
3 penalties in it.
Um, third quarter was absolutely unacceptable.
We cannot have that Southern Miss next week.
Two Lane had 15 1st downs, 10 on runs, forum passes.
Navy had mostly their first downs on runs.
There was four passes and seven runs.
Um, total plays, um, 57 for two.
Lane 49 for, um um Navy Tom of possession.
23 minutes and 23 seconds for Navy and 21 37 for two lane in the game.
So that was fourth quarter starts.
11 enough, and they outscored him in that quarter 100 yards total in the game versus the Green wave.
66 run plays. Two.
Lane had 10 run plays for 66 yards.
Um, Navy had 16 run place for 53 that passed for 47.
Um, let's see the first downs to Lane had three.
They only had three on runs.
Um, David had four first downs in six total first downs in the game.
Um, the time of possession 69 12 for, um, Navy and 5 48 for the Tulane Green Wave.
So that is, uh, in the game.
So the total yards they finished in the game.
350 for Navy, 3 73 for two.
Lane to lane. Random ball.
204 for Navy, 265 for two lane passing, 108 yards, 10 of 25 for too late one interception.
One of, um, one touchdown for maybe seven of 12.
They passed 446 yards in 18 five penalties from 50 yards We have to clean that up in the next game when it comes down to that.
Uh, also first downs to line at 18 1st Downs 13 on runs for on past.
Navy has 17 1st downs.
Um, run six pass.
Um, um, you're not gonna get anywhere if you convert Onley two of 12.
You got to convert on third down.
You have to convert.
That's just, um my opinion on it were absolutely was not good in that third down conversions today.
We have to get better on that.
That is something we're going to clean up this week versus, um um seven.
The game begins next week.
4002 Lane went two for four.
Navy went one for two time of possession.
Navy had the ball 32 minutes to Lane.
Had the ball for only 27 minutes.
That's just, um, what happened in this game today.
So, once again, final score.
Navy once, 27 24.
Let's give you the player stats.
I'm gonna give you too late player stats and giving those players stats right now.
Player stats will switch it over right here. okay.
10 or 25 108 yards.
His rating with 68.3.
Um, the biggest, um, runners today in this game was Taj Spears.
He had 18 carriage for about 119 yards.
Camp Carroll, Um 11 carries, 62 yards.
Amari Jones six carries, 41.
Keyon Howard, Five carats for 26.
I want to Seymour out of step on Hudson.
Hey, Could be a big bruising back.
Just like can tell.
So he had only three carats for 14 yards.
44 carriage for 2. 65.
We had 265 yards and we should have won this game.
We should have won this football game now the wide receiver corps.
What's going through the wide receiver corps? James had two catches.
Um, he was targeted.
Um, date No. Four.
He was talking to four.
I'm getting head of myself.
So he was targeted four times.
Watch was targeted three times.
Brown was talking at once.
Jones was targeted three times.
He had some Onley.
He should have caught more balls but he just dropped a few balls today.
That was just unfortunate situation.
Eight receivers caught the ball today.
408 yards on 10 catches, 10.
8 yards for a catch.
So, um, excellent performance in the first half of the unfortunate faxes.
Just clear that this off, that this team gives up leads, they absolutely give up leads.
I hate to say it.
We're going back to the same situations over and over and over and over again.
We have to continue not to do these things.
Because if we keep continue to do these things, guess what? It's gonna be detrimental to the sea, and it's gonna burners in the long run.
So my take is this some? This was a very sloppy performance in the second half, but we have to get better.
We have to get better.
We have thio get off the field on third down.
That's important because the more you, um delay and getting off the field, guess what? They're going to continue those tribes and we don't want that so unfortunate fact today to Lane loses 27 24.
We will be back later. Once again.
Thanks for joining us.
We'll be back later with, um uh, in games, sports coverage.
We'll have endgame updates.
We'll use the cameras.
I will have three games that will have the coverage.
Will have college football coverage.
We also have, um, MBA coverage here on the end game.
We'll have that tonight.
That will be, um um, later on this evening.
Um, so once again, final score two lane when loses 27.
24 they will go to Southern Miss next Saturday.
We'll have the game here for you on SportsCastr.
We will also have the L S U and Mississippi State game as they began their, um, game one of their season.
So, once again, thanks for joining us for this edition of the two lane postgame show here on stream yard.
Navy wins over two lane.
Once again, we'll be back later for endgame sports reports.
So we will be here.
