episode of The Blitz.
Boys, this is Episode four.
Uh, we're gonna have a busy show.
We got a lot of things to talk about, obviously.
You know, football Week two, we got some crazy things in the basketball world going on.
Uh, you can follow me on Connie chats.
So you're probably watching this on my main account.
Anything account over Josh.
How are we doing, my friend? A man can't complain.
It's It's been a great day, and you guys can follow me right there by my name.
Josh, Caitlin. Ours on Twitter.
And before we get into the juicy sports, as I said of everything going on, got a shout out to sponsors? Of course.
You got a G promo code us and 100 actually doubles your first deposit.
So, hey, if you got any money laying around, you want to double it? I'm just saying you code us at 100.
They'll double your money, turned 50 into 100 place out a nice little on a nice, little easy bet that you think is gonna win, and, uh, you'll get your money back for sure, I there's a lot of games that I am I in this week.
I like the 40 Niners over the Jets.
Uh, I think the Ravens, they're gonna come out on top again, Then I think they'll cover the spread.
So there's definitely some games I'm looking at this week for all my fellow people who like to gamble out there.
And, of course, our ex hemp premium CBD creams, code arcs, hemp dash us and for 10% off your entire purchase, we're also running a deal right now.
I'm not exactly positive what it is.
That's my fault.
Honestly, Um, but I know, actually, Alex, Now that I see that you're in here, I'm sure that you can let the people know what the actual are Ex tempt deal is because you, my friend, I know are a big fan off our extent.
I know you've always talked about using the cooling cream hitting leg day because, you know, Alex over here thinks that he's I believe he calls himself the Mexican Wes Welker.
So that's so you know, he's in the gym making sure that, uh, the patriots and teams out there know that he's available free agent, But yeah, or accept asked us and for 10% off your entire purchase.
And as you saw Anthony Parlay Prince, count over.
I'm a big fan off the parlays.
Parlays were my thing, man.
And you know what this is? Yeah.
I'm never I'm never going to root for the Eagles again.
I just have to state this because Alex brought it up.
I was the Eagles win.
Didn't have to cover the spread.
I just needed them toe win for a $2000 parlayed a hip.
Oh, man, that's tough. Pro.
I was seven out of eight.
I'm never betting on the Eagles again, so I absolutely hate it.
Alex over here says he's stealing my flow.
Had the heat money line and the Nuggets money line.
So you definitely cashed out on that for sure.
Probably using my bookie.
But now that we got the bills paid sponsors happy, let's jump into the who am I to start it off and you know I'm gonna I'll keep it, Riel.
I thought this one was going to be too hard.
I still think I don't think Josh is going to get this.
He got me last time.
I'm not gonna I am not going thio toe lie.
He definitely stop May.
So it's just tougher than Darren McFadden? No, it's absolutely tough for the damming fat.
But listen, people, he said that he wanted it.
I gave him the option between the harder one of the easier one and and he chose.
He chose the harder one.
So trust my knowledge, trust in my knowledge.
Listen, I'm just saying, if you got this, I'll be very impressed, and I'm not impressed easily.
All right, well, let's see here.
I got to get the stopwatch up right now.
You We were giving ourselves a minute, 30 seconds.
I'm going to start it and then I'm going to read the first comment.
So you know, I'll probably give you an extra, like 5, 10 seconds because I got to get to my notes and everything like that.
We're gonna start it now, and here's your first hint.
I am a former NFL player.
I only have 588 career career rushing yards.
You think the scrub you think like what it is, But when I think when you hear the name, you're gonna be like, Wow, I do remember that 588.
My biggest game was with New England Patriots.
I am going to go ahead.
Uh, I just blanked on his name.
You want another hand? Yeah, because give me another one.
In that game, I scored four Russian e can't think of his name.
He's He was a running back for the Patriots and the e can't remember his name.
He literally had one good game.
One good game in this whole entire 50 were at 58 seconds.
And what is his name? I see the steam coming out of your ears and everything.
What is his name? I am a prime example of one hit wonder was actually my last 10.
But you already got that is it? Oh, God.
We're coming down to the wire here, people.
I can't think of his bricking name.
I'm literally okay.
Jonas Gray is That's the name Pop.
Un freaking believable with a minute 28 on the clock.
I was gonna give you an extra, like, five seconds, but you ended up getting it.
You had Alex over here rooting for you that that was impressive.
I'm not gonna lie to you.
I'm not gonna I can't lie that I didn't I didn't think that you were gonna get it. I really didn't.
Like his name was popping up into my like, Gray was popping into my head and I'm like, No, that's that's not It was something different.
And then it was like Jonas Freaking Gray.
I'll never forget that game.
I was like, I have no idea who this kid is.
It's a It was a Sunday night or Thursday night game, and Jonas Gray came out of nowhere, absolutely dismantled the Colts, as we always dio.
Besides, when Peyton Manning was there a couple of times, But, you know, that's a different story.
And e believe it was the next week.
He didn't play, did not play because he was in the doghouse spellcheck because he was late to a meeting.
And let me tell you something.
If that's not typical Belichick, I don't know what is.
He found a no name player.
He was late to a meeting and they never played again.
So, uh, I guess if I ever get a job anywhere with the patriot or something.
I'm going to be 25 minutes early to every single meeting or else I'm gonna be in the doghouse.
Yeah, you gotta be.
But you know, Josh, I'll give you props.
Europe, Europe to one on me.
You're up to one on.
I thought I had you.
I literally wasn't even gonna do Jonas Gray because I thought he was going to be too hard.
I knew exactly like when you said, like, he played for the Patriots.
And then I thought about the yards, and I'm like, All right, there's only one guy can really think of that.
He would actually say, because there's a bunch of other dudes he could have said that were like that.
But I was like, Man, I know who he's talking about.
I know anything.
He would pick this guy, Coach Bill, find me for not having a combo at Subway, you know? Let me tell you something.
Subway Underrated, Underrated.
I completely agree.
Even though I ordered the same sandwich every time, it's no APS.
Bram, Listen, I'm the worst person to go places with because everybody's like, Oh, my gosh, I want to try new things I'm like, Listen, you take me to a restaurant, getting a hamburger? Yeah.
You gotta do what you gotta dio.
Alright, but that assign, let's actually get into some real sports now, and we're gonna break down the Monday night football games.
Obviously, we got the Steelers and the Giants bronc Broncos and the Titans.
You know, Josh, it was kind of what it was.
You know, it was a way, in a way, what I expected in a in a way, it wasn't, um the Giants changed their deep, not defense, their offense a lot.
They went a lot more up tempo.
I wasn't really expecting that.
But then again, I didn't really know what to expect out of, uh, out of adjacent Garrett Joe Judge offense, because obviously Joe judge is a brand new head coach.
Came over from the Patriots as a special teams coach and things like that.
But I just I didn't really know what I was going to say and or not say, I don't know what I was really going to see And it was they looked pretty good.
I I think the Giants aren't there yet.
Obviously, they obviously have a lot of holes.
You know there are Their offensive line clearly isn't good as, say, Kwan.
Barkley will tell you, as I'm sure he's sitting in a nice bath somewhere because he had absolutely no room to run anywhere.
I believe he averaged.
I think we did the math yesterday on Michael's, uh, SportsCastr screaming.
I think he genuinely had 0.
2 yards per carry.
Big Ben rushed for more yards than, say, corn, barley.
I mean, when that's happening, there is a problem.
I mean, other other than that one big pass play he had were Listen, when you get sick on out into open space, it's a It's a problem.
There's no other way to put it.
He's an absolute problem, you know, jumping over people.
Jump cuts, just you.
Absolute blazing speed that he has as a running back.
But the problem with the Giants, they can't get him in open space.
I mean, listen, I'm not saying Kwan Barkley.
Obviously, I can only talk about him, but I think I could average 10.2 yards per carry.
I really think I could now don't be wrong is because I got all is because I got all of this right here.
2 yards per carry isn't going to get it done.
You know, Daniel Jones had, you know, second year quarterback mistakes.
I think he tried to do too much on that red zone interception.
But then again, he also has a nice throws.
The Darius Slay connection or not Wait, no dairy slate variously in My bad connection is looking, uh, is looking pretty good.
I'm pretty sure.
I'm sure that that's making Perry happy, who had various late at the top 20 wide receiver this year in his predictions, But they look pretty good.
But I think teams like the Giants gonna have to buy perfect games this year if they're gonna win against teams that that are better than them.
And, you know, the Steelers were just obviously better them.
And then you could go over to the Steelers side, where you know, Big Ben's back.
That, of course, makes Alex happy.
He can't get enough of of Ben's pictures floating around and chats all the time, and, you know it's it Z he He looked good, you know, it was it was nice to see and it's bad for its It sucks for James Connor.
I'll say that because you know, it's a guy who's overcome a lot in his life in general.
But you know, it, Z, it's it sucks that he that he got injured again, and it's kind of becoming to the point where it's Ugh.
I hate the word injury prone because I think a lot of it you can't really control.
But it's kind of getting to that point.
It was the concussions theano KCAL and things like that.
But, you know, it sucks for him.
But, hey, Snow came in and did what he had to do.
So, you know, you can't really complain on that side.
Juju looks really good, you know, finally having ah quarterback not named Doc Hodges.
So you know, he looks to be back a little bit.
And, you know, what were your thoughts on everything that we saw tonight? I was really impressed with the Steelers.
All around offense and defense say Kwan struggled, but a lot of that was because of the Steelers front seven.
They just contained him and kept containing them.
And even the second day he came up and made big plays.
Joe Hayden came in, took out a couple blockers on multiple plays.
They were just really good all around and Big Ben having him back.
They have a lot of young, talented receivers.
I mean, outside of Judy, they have James Washington and Deontay Johnson, and then they have rookie.
I think it's Chase Claypool and he's he's really good, too.
So they got a lot of good weapons over there for him.
And like you said, it's It's tough for James Connor, you know, because everyone really wants him to do well.
Like, how can you not after everything he's been through, and it just sucks to not not see him out there. Week one.
I'm not being healthy, but Ben, it's not picked it up like he he established himself out there.
Now he has a real role with the team.
He's gonna get carries throughout the year, So I was impressed with them.
I mean, we both had the Steelers coming into this game.
We knew that they would struggle.
I mean, first week with Daniel Jones, Week one and, you know, say Kwan when say, Kwan can't get going, that offense is gonna struggle.
That's just always how it's gonna be for them.
But yeah, I mean, Steelers, we knew would dominate like that.
It was closer than I thought it would be towards towards the end a little bit, but then they just kind of put it away.
But I was really impressed with the Steelers on both sides of the ball.
See, that's the thing that we kind of talked about.
It's weird, you know, you can kind of compare the two New York teams because, you know, there are two teams in general.
I mean, you talked the other day about how the Jets 10 point loss didn't seem like a 10 point loss.
It seemed like, you know, with 30 point blowout, just this final score just didn't really seem, you know, to be what this true story actually was.
I feel like this 10 point loss for the Giants or something you could build on as a Zwiers.
That sounds and maybe how as dumb as it sounds, because you could never there's there's always something you can take out of game, but a 10 point lost to the Steelers.
I know Big Ben was just coming back, so you know, you can look at that as well.
But I think that they played, Ah, good game.
And I think against teams that are average or below average, they can definitely win games against teams like that.
I don't think that they're, you know, a bottom to bottom five team in the league anymore.
Like we have expected them to be the past couple of years.
If and if Danny keeps, you know, doing his thing and can continue to improve, then you know they're gonna be a problem moving forward.
But you, of course I want to see more improvement in him.
Like I said, that red zone interception, I just think he's doing too much.
Listen, when you're that far out of the pocket and you got people running towards you just got to throw the ball out of the back of the end zone on.
And then, of course, that was a really good drive.
It was 18 plays.
Yeah, like it was really impressed that Z, that's an absolute morale killers.
Well, because you're going 18 plays down the field, and the next thing you know, you don't even get you.
Don't even get a field goal out of it.
I mean, don't get me wrong.
You never really wanna score field goals on on your drives.
But if you're gonna have an 18 play drive 95 yards, they're chewing up a lot of clock.
I believe the drivers almost nine minutes, if not longer than that, and to not even get a field go out of it, that's that's a killer.
And then there was that.
And then, of course, the after the blocked punt or whatever it was and they don't score, they only get the field go out of that drivers.
Well, so a couple of missed opportunities there that, you know, if they cash in on both of those may be the end of that game.
It looks a lot different than it actually did.
I think I think they had a couple of missed opportunities where they really could have got themselves into the game and into a position to win the game.
But they got to finish out those drives like you said Daniel Jones tried doing too much there.
You gotta just take the sack sometimes.
I mean, I know he wasn't even gonna lose that many yards because he was already outside of the pocket.
He just tried to make a thorough that wasn't there.
And that's what happens for sure.
Now, I don't know if you got any more thoughts on that, But if not, we can move on to another game.
That was I wouldn't say the most exciting game of of week one for sure.
It ended up being a kicking, absolute nightmare.
But the Titans and the Broncos, What did you think about what you saw during that game? From, you know, people like Drew Lock and everybody like that that we expected, you know, to see a lot of coming into the season.
Yeah, last episode I said I was I picked the Broncos to win this because I really liked that offense and I liked what I saw from the offense.
Still, I really liked how they worked both Lindsay and Gordon in the backfield and got them each a good amount of calories.
And they produced pretty well with the tough defense.
And Drew Lock made a couple good throws in there, made some bad decisions, but no, a fan saved me and fantasy this week.
He caught that touchdown was just a big part of their offense in the first half, and Jerry Judy showed that he's already one of the best route runners in the NFL.
I mean, his timing.
He can hesitate and just take it the other way and just break defender.
So I was really impressed with that.
On the Titan side of offense, I did not expect Ryan Tannehill toe throw.
I mean, 43 past attempts in week one did not see that coming.
I mean, he had like, 31 carries.
I expect him to do more with that.
But I think this Bronco's front seven without von Miller performed really, really well.
I mean, General Casey, he didn't get a lot of respect like he's a little older now, but he's always been really good, just kind of under the radar and he's always been an underrated player, always.
You're absolutely right about that.
He was really impressive in that game.
He was always involved there on I thought they did a really good job containing Derrick Henry and putting pressure on Ryan Tannehill.
I was impressed with both sides of the ball for both teams.
You know, the Titans kicker he's gonna have.
He's gonna have some problems.
He missed a lot of kicks in that game, but then again, a lot of kickers did this week, which is looks like a year after year routine Now, yeah, I was just impressed with with both quarterbacks, both offenses and both defense.
I enjoyed the game.
Everyone thinks it was slow and not really entertaining.
But I don't know. I think I just view it a little bit differently.
Yeah, it's a lot of what you said.
I There's no way that I ever think 10 Hills doing that again unless they're down.
You know, 20 points at halftime.
I don't I don't see an offense where you're throwing the ball that many times because, you know, like everybody knows, they do well in the play action.
It's ah, lot of Derrick Henry, Derrick Henry up the middle up in the middle and then you know, you sucking the defense, the the linebackers move up, the safeties move up and everything like that and then you can throw with deep all the A J.
You can throw a deep all the Cory Davis thing and Cory.
Listen, Corey Davis was a lot more involved than I thought he would be. A swell.
You know, I think everybody, especially because we look at we look at fantasy and things like that.
So we look at a J.
Brown, but Corey Davis was heavily involved.
So if he's on your waiver wire or are available to pick up trade for something like that, I would look into it. I mean, I know.
Obviously it's It's a week once.
You don't have to really want to overreact anything.
But he was a lot more involved than I thought he was gonna be, Uh, Derrick Henry still put up about what Not What did you have, like, 95 yards on the ground? Something like that.
I think you broke over 100.
Yeah, so, you know, you kind of expect Derrick Henry to do Derrick Henry things, which is what he did.
So that's that's nice to see, Of course, from him.
And then, you know, it is what you said I was 30.
I picked Italians in this game because I just didn't.
I kind of lost respect in a in a talent standpoint, for the Broncos defense, you know, they losing von not having Bradley chub yet.
Chris Harris left, you know, and they just things like that.
And you know what? You're right.
They still played well.
They gave They were they were in that game literally to the very end of it.
Probably would've had a better chance of Vic.
Fangio knew how toe, you know, use timeouts.
I don't know what he was doing at the end of that game.
I have absolutely no idea.
But, you know, you know, shout out him because I want my I parlayed the Titans money line and the under in that game.
So I appreciate, uh, I appreciate you, but, um, it was I I don't know what he was doing at the end of that game.
Yeah, it's just that your urine defense there is just It's pretty common sense.
You need as much time for your offense to get down the field.
Don't know why he thought we can save these time outs and just let them drive down the field like you need to use this time, months.
That's why you save them for the fourth quarter and giving your offense 16 seconds to go 80 yards.
It's just you're not allowing them to even work with anything.
Then take deep shots and try laterals, and you just have virtually no shot to win it.
You know it is, It's, I don't know, but, you know, like you said, I didn't even mention it.
The Broncos offense didn't look bad.
You know, I think that they'll doom or eventually, you know, because they didn't have a lot of they didn't have some of their weapons.
Obviously, courting someone was out with that shoulder injury and things like that.
But you know, Jerry, Judy did look good.
His routes are unbelievable.
I know he had two big drops in that game, but I mean, that could be first game jitters.
And just, you know, I wouldn't look too much into that.
Don't really expect him to be somebody who's leading the league and drops at any time.
You know, he's obviously a great receiver.
You got drafted that high for a reason now way might not be talking about them, but we got a question.
I You know, I'm kind of curious as to your answer to this.
Anyway, You see Jimmy G leading the Nice to another Super Bowl just real quick.
I see the Niners getting to another Super Bowl, but I wouldn't give Jimmy G the credit for leading them there.
I think he could be a quarterback for them to get to another Super Bowl, but him leading them.
I don't see it working that way unless you just show some skills I haven't seen before.
But I could see them getting to another one.
But it's not gonna be because of Jimmy.
Yeah, I have to agree.
You know, I will.
Obviously, when he was on the Patriots, I was.
I probably liked him a lot more than other people did, only because of me being a Patriots fan.
But if they get another Super Bowl is gonna be led by their defense and their running game.
I don't really think it's gonna be too much of the Jimmy G show Now.
We're gonna move away from football real quick, obviously, to talk about the Heat and the Celtics.
And then we'll go back at the end of the show and give our week to predictions and everything like that.
But we'll start off.
We'll start off with the Heat and Celtics because I know you're gonna lay into it on the Clippers Nuggets Game seven.
But we'll start with.
We'll start with Heat.
Celtics Game one, you know, thoughts on the game.
You know, we got Jimmy and Tatum.
Obviously, bam had that unbelievable, unbelievable block at the end of that game to seal it.
So I'll give the floor to you on this one.
Yeah, I think, uh, we got to stop looking at Marcus Smart as just a defender.
He is so much more than that.
And he has proven that throughout these entire playoffs.
He's hit big shots after big shots, and he was huge for them.
Had 26 points and hit a bunch of threes that game, and I didn't towards the end of the game, I didn't like how Jason Tatum was was hogging the ball a lot.
I mean, I know he's an excellent score, can score of isolation, but that bam out of bio block Marcus smart was wide open in the corner to hit a three and could have easily easily put them up in one the game there.
But that block was something else.
I mean, one of the best playoff blocks of all time.
Without a doubt on.
I mean, just being able his Tatum had all the momentum.
Them almost had no shot of even getting up there.
But like the way his hand was positioned.
And I was just about to say, Do you see the picture of his wrist? And the ball was basically in the hoop? Yeah, and I think, uh, I think the heat just played really well all around.
I mean, they had three different players score over 20 points.
Tyler hero gave him that spark off the bench is, which is what he's been all year.
He's been amazing for them, and it's gonna be amazing for them in the future.
Yeah, I mean, I had the heat in five.
It was a lot closer than I thought it would be.
But I was impressed with the Heat.
The Celtics Kimba Kimba struggled again.
I think he only had like, 14 points, but he still had a couple clutch points.
He had a nice step back, which is cardiac.
He It's the step back. That's what he does.
But it could be a lot closer vis Siri's than I originally thought it would be if the Celtics come out and play like that again.
I had the Celtics in seven.
I'm sticking to it.
But yeah, it was.
It was a fun game.
I I kind of caught the end of it only because I was watching my Yankees dismantled the Blue Jays 20 to 6.
But that will be a story for backstop banter tomorrow, which will also be I will also be co hosting with with Matt.
So But you know that, like you said, the block was unbelievable.
And, you know, the thing that I looked at two is I don't know if it was the last possession, but I think it was the last question of the fourth quarter that the Celtics had it.
I just didn't like the play.
It was Kemba dribbling until eight seconds left, and he passed it off the Tatum and Tatum took it.
Three, like you're telling me that's the best play you could come up with.
Brad Stevens is a lot better coaching that they have a lot of talent on that team.
And that's what you came up with.
Z that was That was a Billy Donovan level draw up play.
And we all know how that keeps out.
Don't you like that, Billy? It's not.
Listen, it's not our guy anymore.
He Hey, I still got love for him.
And he he dealt with a lot of bull crap in his time here.
You know what? You know what? You're right.
But you can also lie to me and say, That was a terrible play.
Play call. One of the worst I've ever seen.
And and like Like I said, you know, the Celtics.
I mean, you got you got you got Jalen.
You got Kemba Marcus Smart, like you said, You know, I've always thought of him as a defender.
I I I think a lot of people have looked at him that way.
I don't know if you can really call it a coming out party, but this is what the playoffs has been for him.
He's been unbelievable, obviously, on the all defensive What I believe is on the all defensive first team this year, right? If I'm not mistaking.
But if he can, if he can add, you know.
So if he can add offense like he's had in the in the playoffs and and in the bubble toe, obviously all defensive first team, you're gonna now he's gonna be someone and you're gonna have to really deal with because, like we've said, he's obviously always been the defender.
You know, he's kind of an irritant, you know, It gets up in your face, are great defender, try to get under your skin and things like that.
But if he But if he's adding a new offense like this to his game, the Celtics were gonna be a big problem, because does he come off the bench normally when Gordon Hayward's healthy? But he started most of these playoffs.
Yeah, but, you know, and that's that's the other thing.
If Gordon Hayward comes back to Siri's, I'm liking my, uh, Celtics even more.
Yeah, I mean, he's still got to get back into it because he's been out pretty much the whole playoffs.
But if he does come back.
He's gonna be a big factor.
Because then you can't have Marcus Smart come off the bench or have him come off the bench.
But they're gonna be even better next year.
Everyone fully healthy.
They have the 14th pick in the draft somehow because Danny Ainge is that good at trades and everything, but yeah, I don't see them.
Yeah, I don't see them win the Siri's, though.
You know, I would I would argue with you more, but well, you know what we'll add.
We'll make that the transition.
We'll, uh we'll say and to the Nuggets and the Clippers.
You know what? I had the Clippers.
I didn't think that they were gonna blow a 31 lead.
What was that you were saying about About their depth on how like they have just so many e thought like they just were so deep? Like scoring just wasn't going to really be an issue for them.
What happened? Listen, listen, that's still true.
I just didn't expect, um I'm not gonna call him Pandemic P.
He's the black plague.
That is what? How do you get this? Listen, bro, I'm telling you right now, if that's what it takes to be in the MBA, I could hit the side of the backboard.
I promise you that.
Oh, we got a jump shooter out here.
I didn't know I was talking to the curry over here.
Yeah, but I'm I'm the fourth Curry brother over here.
But you know what? Go go for it.
I'll stay here and, uh and listen.
I mean, I'm just confused.
I mean, how many points they have? They had 89 points, 89 points in a game seven.
Patrick Beverley outscored Paul George.
You know, the guy they gave up their next six years of picks and their young player shout out saying, Presti, yeah, shout outs.
Impressed E, But, uh I mean, where's the depth? That man, I thought Llewellyn Montrose, How are both six men of the year? Come and get you a bucket whenever you need it.
They were non existent.
They picked him up.
Everyone was hype about that.
Marcus Morris. Everyone was hype about that.
Non factors like I get it.
The Nuggets there were comeback kids right now that they're dominating everyone.
When Jamal Murray is dropping 40 it's very tough for anyone to beat them.
Yokich is a top five point guard in the league, and there is no debate there.
It's just and why? Why did Paul George even try to make the excuse that they haven't had enough time together? They chose toe load, manage they.
It's not like they just came into the playoffs and this is the new roster.
They had a whole half of the season toe play together, but they chose to load manage.
So I don't think that's an explosion.
Oh, they didn't have injuries, so they couldn't tactically play together.
And then even in the bubble, Harold way got, we got, we got a lemon pepper.
Lu had to, you know, go get his wings themselves.
They eso absolutely listen, listen, that they absolutely did.
There's no defending that.
Yeah, I mean, the Nuggets are the real deal.
Lakers aren't gonna have a cake.
Siri's is gonna be very tough, especially with how Yokich and Mario are playing right now.
Jeremy Grant picked it up.
This Siri's, So did Paul Millsap.
When him and Marcus Morris had their little scuffle, Morris told them, You're ready.
You packed to go home and Paul Millsap went off the rest of that game.
They went on the way.
The next to I mean it is is one of the biggest disappointing teams ever.
I mean, you can't deny that.
I mean, you add those two superstars to an already talented roster, and Perry's right there.
Doc Rivers on Lee coach to blow a 31 lead twice in his career, but he's also one of the winningest coaches, so I mean, I don't know.
I don't know what the Clippers do here as a thunder fan, I fully support trading way Paul, George and Kawhi Leonard on just going into a full on rebuild man.
Just try to win the lottery.
But just forget that we have your picks.
You know, I I couldn't believe it.
I didn't think that there was a way that a team like that could lose three games in a row.
You know, you're down 31 I don't know.
Listen, I don't know what it is if all I know is this is what I'm saying.
If the Lakers were up 31 I'm betting nuggets.
The rest of the Siri's no doubt in my mind.
Because Jamal Murray had dropped a 40 piece.
He dropped a 40 piece in a Game seven and I believe Hawaiian Paul George had 24 combined.
And that z just not what you want to say.
You know, here's my only thing.
You got a lot of people blaming Kawai for this.
Oh, you got it, though.
Uh, 14 points in the game, seven from the 14 points in a game seven And you don't wanna blame Call Also, ain't nobody ever had an off game.
So nobody ever had an off game, huh? No, but not when they When the second they build a super team, they put this is my city and their new commercial when they know darn well it's not their city.
He he deserves all the hay he gets. You can't.
He's supposed to be good directing all of my hate toe black plague p because, you know, I I thought it was kind of, uh, an overrated thing that Paul George shrunk in the playoffs.
Then I saw him on the thunder and then I was like, Oh, yeah, I kind of understand because, you know, it's weird.
I kind of think of Paul George.
And I kind of still remember the Pacers days, you know? Ah, young Paul, Georgia, Battling absolutely battling with LeBron in the with the heat.
You know, take, I believe you're talking to seven games at one year, so that's kind of still what I think of.
And then you see how he performed.
And it was it was just not a good thing to watch.
It was it was just hitting the side of backboards like I don't know what the hell he was doing.
I don't know if you know, in all seriousness, I know that He said he had struggled with some things about being in the bubble.
So, you know, you kind of hope that that's not the reason why he his place struggled.
But I don't think it is because we've seen this in the playoffs before.
So listen, I see that little smirk on your face got no.
Listen, I'm saying is I thought this team was had, like, two best wing defenders in the league, and Pat Bev was locked down and you let you let your mom You just watched your mom marry job.
40 on three after three voters.
Leonard is the claw, right? Former defensive player of the year.
First team, all defense.
Why? Why did he take that responsibility to lock down? Democracy was your Kage.
They had the Oh, we're not going off on a man had a triple dip recorders.
I thought they had, like, five words.
I thought the defense was amazing, too.
That's why I picked him.
But I guess I guess I guess something's happened.
But, you know, you said it before.
It was, uh this is this is a big disappointment.
This team is, you know, they they you know, after they beat the Lakers that first game of the year, we were kind of like, Oh, you know, we got we got a competition here, E.
And then you wanna go again later on in the year, right? And then regular season? No, no, but I'm saying we look at that and we were kind of like, Oh, this could be this could be interesting.
And then all of a sudden, it's, uh now the Lakers got a nice little path to the championship because, I mean, it's really it's a You were right.
It's It's the deepest roster.
It's supposed to be there.
Supposed to be ableto have so many weapons out there that they were just supposed to cruise through the playoffs.
That's when you build a team that deep.
That took the Warriors with K D six games without Kobe Bryant.
And then you bring those two guys in.
You're supposed to be amazing, but Nope.
Listen, I still wouldn't change my pick.
Even seen it again.
I wouldn't change my pick.
And you see, here's the thing.
Here's the thing.
This is what you got to respect about me.
Of course, because I had the Clippers and the final, so I never I never wavered off them.
Listen, I went down with this ship.
I respect that man.
You know, I appreciate you know, I appreciate that.
Hey, but where do you where do you Where do you look at ranking this as as a disappointment for a team? Uh, I don't know, man, because it's it's really tough to compare it because people really want to compare this to LeBron and the Heat in 2011.
But they got to the finals like they got there and they did.
They were disappointed because they're supposed to be a lock for it.
Just like the Clippers were supposed to be a lot this year.
But I think I think it ranks at the top.
I don't think the 2012 Lakers with Dwight Nash and Kobe, I don't think that zoo really the same here because CO y and Paul George are both in their prime and Nash was old and Dwight Howard had a broken spine, so I would I would put this as the biggest disappointment from a team in NBA history in N NBA history.
E can you think of think of another team that everyone just hyped up? I think that his team is a bigger is a bigger dismount away.
But they won three or two of them.
They won two of them, Yeah, but not in one year.
But they got one year, all right, we're talking about that one year that he got to the final.
They lost to Dirk And that was LeBron choked.
He choked, but at least they got there.
They didn't lose in the second round if they lost around.
Forgot that your Mr Participation Trophy Participation Trophy, bro.
Eastern Conference champs is not a participation trophy that is in the best.
You're **** right.
It's a participation trophy. Listen.
What, baby? Listen, maybe maybe it's the New Yorker and me, but we ain't hanging.
We're not hanging banners from winning our division or the conference.
You hang bandage for winning the conference.
When when your team like the Clippers, if they would have won the conference as you're gonna make your you're gonna rename your state 29 20 Bron James LeBron James.
Hey, you're not that That is the second biggest disappointment in Evia history.
But this Clippers disappointment after all the smack talk, they were clowning Damian Lillard 123 Cancun Well, they're gonna be right there with them.
They're gonna be hanging out.
There's gonna be sitting on the on And they were just so confident in themselves.
Told that they blew a 31 lead.
That's that's the other big thing.
You had one game toe win.
You had multiple That's the other thing.
You don't think that You think this is a big disappointment in the Warriors blowing a 31 lead? No, that's the greatest team of all time.
Now, the couple years after adding K D is the greatest team of all time.
That's just King James doing King James things.
I mean hey, that's what I don't know how we got this.
Did he? Did he not do his thing? Yeah, he's lucky that Draymond He's lucky that Draymond doesn't know how to control his legs and kept kicking people in the balls.
Hey, man, he made his choice.
LeBron just did his job, you know? You know, the biggest Just don't know.
I might have to save that for our last segment.
I might have Teoh.
Yeah, All right.
Now I'm gonna I'm gonna go into a quick, quick, little baseball thing after after a nice let's bring the tone back down just a little bit again, Well heated over here.
But, you know, I'm Yeah, You know, I'm definitely the bigger baseball person out of the two of us, obviously, but so I'll probably be the driver of the conversation.
But I want to get it in there because because I wanted it is it is.
It's almost playoff baseball season, man.
And listen for somebody who grew up playing baseball has watched all my life.
It's an exciting, exciting time.
And you know this.
It's something that we can we can both talk about easily because we've seen it happen so far.
Obviously, the MLB regular season is, you know, they're playing it in their home stadiums.
There is travel back and forth, but they have decided that the playoffs are going to be in a bubble.
Do you have any kind of thoughts on that? Yeah.
I mean, uh, it's a lot tougher toe build a bubble when the roster sizes air so much larger than in the MBA.
There's a lot more people involved and a lot more like moving around moving parts than there is in the MBA.
But I think from what I did in my research, I think they they've done a pretty good job trying to avoid the home field advantage factor within within the bubble, trying to make in a level playing field.
But oh, no, man.
I think it's gonna be interesting to see it's it will be fun because, you know, like you said, they did do a good job of avoiding ah, home field advantage because you're gonna have the A l teams playing in NL ballparks and have the n l teams playing in a a ball park.
So you can't really have besides in the first round, because that first that first round is gonna be, you know, the higher she gets to play in their home stadium for that best of three Siri's.
But other than that, it is gonna be in the bubble in the established parks that they've had.
And then you know something that I did see.
And I'm kind of curious, you know, looking into the future.
If they have, they have the world.
Siri's This year in Arlington, Texas, they opened a brand new ballpark.
Obviously, they want to show it off and things like that, and we kind of see it with the NFL, And I'm kind of I'm a little curious.
If the MLB tries to do like a Super Bowl thing with the world, Siri's because you have teams like New York, you have teams like New York going to the world, Siri's or these East Coast teams were playing in October.
Listen, it is 30 degrees here in October in New York, in the Bronx, you got people covered up like this and this stands trying to watch you got, you know, players having the blowing their hands in between pitches.
So I kind of see, I'm kind of curious that they try to turn the world.
Siri's into the Super Bowl like event where they have let's they pick us, they pick, ah, ballpark.
You know, maybe on the West Coast, where you know the weather is gonna be nice or are Dome Stadium and you throughout the year say, Listen, this is where the world Siri is gonna be held this year. Then they turned in tow.
It is harder for the for the MLB to do that, because obviously the world Siri's can be as long as a seven game series.
The Super Bowls.
Obviously, as we all know, a one game and you're done.
But, you know, I'm kind of curious to see if they try to do that in the MLB.
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see.
I think It's definitely gonna be up for discussion, especially because it's gonna be very cold if if it's a if it's a team that's not out there in California or anywhere like that, especially if New York's in there, they've got to consider that.
So it will be interesting to see how it all works out.
Like when the playoffs get going and teams are teams are moving on and just looking into the further future toe the world, Siri's for sure.
Now let's get into.
We'll go back to the NFL because we've got a big week to coming up, obviously.
So we're gonna go down the list, make our predictions.
I believe you said, you know, Not that I'm really that surprised, but I had a better win percentage last week, so we'll see if you can.
We'll see where it bounced back 11 and four.
You were 11 and four.
I was Ah, I was.
I was like seven and 87 and eight, I believe, or something like that could never be May.
It'll be probably this week.
Man E took the risk of 100 dogs.
That's why listen, you can take all the risk you want, but when I'm correct at the end of the day, I don't want to hear it.
What's the week? 16 when I'm up like 10 wins will be like, What? What happening? And I'll bet you right now I have better record than you.
No, I ain't gonna do that to myself, man.
I'm still taking the other dogs and stuff s Are you Are you gonna keep track? Yeah, I'll keep track.
We're keeping track of seeing who weaken do.
All right, so let's get right into it.
We'll try not to, you know, go too long on each game because obviously, there are a lot of things to cover.
But tomorrow night obviously started off weak to we got the Bengals and the Browns.
How are your thoughts on that? You mean I think it's gonna be, uh I mean, Battle.
Of the two worst teams in their division, obviously, rookie quarterback versus struggling quarterback.
I'm I'm still sticking.
I pick the Browns last week.
I'm staying with the dog pound going with the Browns.
I think they're gonna pull it out.
I think they're gonna give Joe Burrow problems.
Odell's Odell's been in some trade talks recently.
I think he has a big game.
I think Baker Baker comes back this week and he's a little bit better than he was last week.
I am also going to go with the Browns on this one just because I think listen, Like I said, I don't see the Bengals really winning even five games this year, and I don't think it starts now.
So the Brown struggle.
But listen, they played the Ravens.
We expect him to be in a F C championship game, if not Super Bowl, So it's kind of what everybody expected I want.
I'm hoping at least that Baker bounces back this week and plays a lot better than he did.
I want to see Nick Chubb get more involved, see how that defense is.
I know David and Joke who just went out, though I wouldn't I know he got placed on the I R.
So we'll probably see a lot more of Austin Hooper, who is obviously looking toe earn Uh, yeah, in that big contract that he did sign.
So I'm going with the Brown's as well.
Although I'm picking against Alex, apparently who has the Bangles.
I mean, come on, E, it's It's a very real possibility.
You know what? You could never you could never really counted out when you're playing the Brown.
So, you know, I guess it's not too bad.
Next up we got the Giants and the Bears.
I think, you know, it's it's weird, but it is almost like a toss up for me because I just really don't believe in Mitch Robiskie at all.
But I think that the Bears defense is just too much for the Giants offensive line to handle.
I think Khalil Mack is gonna have an absolute field day.
Their front seven is amazing.
As we all know, I think Daniel Jones is gonna is gonna be on his back alive.
I don't think steak.
I think steak well might have even less room to run.
Then he did last week, if that's even possible.
So I'm gonna have to go with the Bears in this one.
Yeah, I'm going with the Bears.
I like what I saw from the defense last week and, uh, thinks Tae kwon is going to continue to struggle against these really tough front sevens.
And if You can't get sick one going.
It's it's tough for the Giants to win.
Travis Key looked nice in the fourth quarter, so maybe he can keep that going.
And Allan Robinson is gonna be hungry.
I mean, he's trying to prove that he's worth that money, which I think he very much is.
So I think the Bears, they're gonna take this one, you know, I can absolutely see.
I'm hoping hoping sake one does better, though, because I have in my dynasty league.
And if that's the performance I'm going to get, I'm not gonna have a lot of wins at the end of the year.
Much like the Giants probably next up.
We have my most hated team in the entire NFL.
It is the Eagles versus the Rams.
Yeah, I'm taking the Rams here.
Yeah, I'm taking the Rams here.
They played really well last week.
I like what I saw from the offense.
They're not making Jared Goff do too much, but they're still making them throw the ball quite a bit.
Just a lot of easier throws and they have a nice little running back tandem back there with Cam makers and Malcolm Brown and then they they both performed.
Not great, but there were okay this past week.
Their defense isn't terrible.
Jalen Ramsey still clamps and did not.
He clamped up Malcolm or Michael Gallup, and everyone thinks that's not pass interference.
But it clearly was, and Jalen Ramsey did what corners done he should be.
He should be on Broadway with that acting.
That's that's another story.
I could get into that.
But, uh, yeah, I'm taking.
I'm taking the Rams here.
Carson Wentz is going to be running for his life once again, and I'm just feel sorry for him going Rams here as much as I want to pick the Eagles because I have Carson Wentz is my M v p.
So you know losing doesn't really help your M v P.
Listen, losing doesn't really help your M V P race too much, but yeah, I have to go with the Rams here.
That offensive line just looked absolutely terrible, and that was against the Washington football team that we didn't really expect much of.
I mean, granted, they do have a lot of talent on the front line.
They have five first round picks, so they're clearly that's probably that's obviously from a lot of losing.
But, hey, it's still it's still five first round talent picks, and I don't know if you can't block them.
How the hell are you gonna block Aaron? Donald who? I don't know if you saw the clips of it online, but he was just tossing people out of the way like they were like, they were rag dolls.
So it, uh, it'll be hell for Carson once.
You know, Ramsey, I like I can't wait to see Ramsey and and variously do what they dio.
But yeah, I definitely have to go with the Rams on this one for sure.
Next, we got the Falcons and the Cowboys.
Yeah, I'll take the Falcons here, too.
I like what I saw from Matt Ryan.
They had three receivers over 100 yards last week.
Todd Gurley is probably gonna get more involved and do more with his carries.
And I do not like what I saw from the play called wise on the Cowboys side.
If they don't change that this week, then no, no, they're going to struggle all year if they just run quick slants all year, but I'm taking taking the Falcons here a za much as this pains me a swell.
I know Perry will be happy, but I'm actually gonna take the Cowboys.
I am going to take the Cowboys on this for the simple fact that I don't think that the Falcons air that good of a team.
And when you kind of look at Dax career, he's played better against teams that are, you know, 500.
Ah, little bit below average things like that.
And that's kind of where I I rank the Falcons on.
I might be disrespecting them, but I just don't really see it.
So, you know, I think they're going to get Zeke more involved.
I think Cooper is gonna play, have a bigger role CD lambs.
Gonna have a bigger role.
So it definitely does hurt, you know, losing Vanda Resh and Jar win.
Being out for the season Now with that a c l.
But I'm still gonna end up going with the Cowboys on this one.
As much as it pains me.
Yeah, yeah, I got Oh, listen.
Listen, I'm ahead right now, so maybe you should be taken to I don't Listen, you should be writing notes or something.
Now we got the Now we got your game.
The Panthers in the box now wisely here.
I'm taking panthers, bro.
E liked what I saw him.
I really liked what I saw from the offensive.
I think we're gonna put up a lot of points on their secondary because their secondary is is pretty weak.
I liked what I saw from the offensive line.
I think we can stop that pass, rush, pass, rush and stop their run stoppers.
And Christian McCaffrey is gonna have a much bigger role this week in the first half. Hopefully.
And, uh, I trust our defense because the Buccaneers have have had a couple miscommunications on the offensive side of the ball, and I just don't think they're going to get it done against us.
I think we're gonna come in and put a lot of points on them early and forced their offense to beat us.
Well, you're wrong again, because the goats coming into town and he's absolutely gonna pick apart your your defense, and this is what I guess we have to call it.
But Yeah, I'm definitely going with the Bucks on this one.
It does scare me a little bit, though, because I did just see today, which I didn't even know that God wouldn't just went a concussion protocol.
So that is definitely not fun.
Which you know, obviously, that's there.
That's what Brady's excelled with over the years.
He had that beautiful throw to him last week, so that definitely does not help.
But, you know, having McCaffrey and fantasy.
Last year, I always looked at the Bucks games and always kind of thought like, Oh, yeah, it's an easy week.
McCaffrey did not play that well against the Bucks because for everything that they do bad, that run defense is unbelievable.
And Todd Bowles, you know, brings a lot of pressure.
So I can I can see Teddy getting a little fancy in the pocket with everybody around him.
Ah, lot of a lot of dump offs, McCaffrey and things like that, but I think they'll keep him in front, and I'm going with the Bucks on this one.
Don't be surprised if I picked the Panthers all 16 games this year, man, I like our offense, and I'm a writer.
You know, I listen, I respect it.
But I'm going for victories here, not my heart.
You know, when we get to the Saints later in the year, I might have to go against my guys, but we'll see. We'll see.
This one should be easy in my eyes.
But 40 Niners and the Jets.
40 Niners, no doubt Jets offenses.
It looked ugly last week is gonna look terrible this week.
With the 40 Niners defense and their deep the Jets defense is not gonna be able to handle everything that Shanahan is gonna throw at them.
Going the Niners? Yeah, I think it's a 40 Niners easily.
Sam Darnel might die this game honestly, because their their their line isn't good.
And as we've both seen, when you when you're not really a mobile quarterback toe the 40 Niners front seven can really just do whatever they want.
So I don't think Sam Donald's gonna have a fun time this week at all.
They don't really have the talent around him.
Levy on obviously just went on the I R So that z just another person that they're down Talent wise.
I genuinely think that this is a 21 point win by the 40 Niners.
Yeah, I heard that Adam gays tried Thio play Levian when he was clearly hurt.
So that's ah, starting problems.
Already weak one.
Oh, yeah, because it's not like the relationship, all right? He was struggling or anything that would be just crazy to think of.
Now we got we got a game that I think could honestly be pretty fun.
The Broncos and the Steelers.
So what you what you think? Yeah, I think it's gonna be a really good game like we talked about earlier with both teams.
Their front seven played really well in week one.
I think the Broncos, they're gonna help contain the run game, and the big Ben's gonna be forced to throw the ball. But that's what he does.
So they're gonna they're gonna do a lot.
And that's the same thing for the other side.
The front seven for the Steelers.
They're going to contain Melvin Gordon, Philip Lindsay and Force Drew lock to make plays down the field.
But I'm not sure how serious.
Courtland Sutton's injury is so I don't know if he'll be back this week or not, But either way, they still have multiple receivers that can create space.
Judy have a bunch of tight ends that can make place, so I think it's gonna be a good game.
But I'm gonna go with the Steelers.
Talked all talked off the Broncos that much just to go with the Steelers.
Uh, both of them I talked to both of You know what? I agree with you, my friend.
I agree with you.
I think the Steelers get this one.
I think that the Broncos air probably another draft class in a few free agents away from truly, truly competing.
I do like you said that I do love their offense, especially when Courtland something comes back.
The problem is, I just don't know what he is gonna be back because, like you said, I don't know about that shoulder injury.
I think TJ Watt is obviously going to do what he what he always does.
And that in the Steelers offensive line is is pretty good as well.
And I know that you know, the kind of you know, we kind of looked at the Titans, and we said, We kind of expect more from Henry.
Listen, over 100 yards, you're kind of doing what you gotta dio.
So I think the Steelers also take this one for sure.
Yeah. It's gonna be a good game.
Now, this might be the stinker of the week.
I haven't looked at some of the other games, but this could be a bad one.
This is the Jags and the Titans.
You know, we said that we said the same thing last week.
We had the Colts easily, and then the Jags.
Gardner Minshew decided that he wanted to become Tom Brady for a day and when 19 to 20 for three touchdowns.
But with all that being said, you know, the Jack still did trade away all of their talent.
So I'm gonna have to go with a heavy dose of Derrick Henry, play action over the top and a easy 14 plus point win for the Titans.
Yeah, Like I said, I'm all about the underdogs, but it is.
It is very tough for me to see any situation where Derrick Henry doesn't just absolutely dominate that defense this week.
And obviously that front seven for the Titans is going to wreak havoc for mention.
I think Menchu still puts up a good game and they maybe score some points.
Titans are going to do a lot against them.
Ryan Tannehill is gonna run all over them, too.
But, yeah, I'm going with the Titans here, too.
All right, Here.
This could be a fun game is well, we have the lines at the Packers.
Obviously, the Lions had a heartbreaking, heartbreaking loss last week.
But, you know, as we said, that's kind of what happens to teams like the Lions.
So Lions, Packers, you know, the Packers offense was a lot better than I thought it was for a team that didn't draft any any wide receivers, which is kind of what everybody got on them for because, you know, you looked at everybody.
They're like, Oh, you you're definitely gonna have to draft wide receivers And this that.
But they didn't do it and they still look pretty good.
Davante Adams, in my opinion, is probably a top five receiver, so it's not like they're at they don't have any talent on that offensive side.
Obviously, they have Aaron Rodgers, Erin Jones.
So I think I think the package defense will probably play a little bit better than they did against the Vikings.
You know, they gave up 34 points, but when your team scores over 40 you're probably gonna win the game anyway, unless it's Chiefs Rams game, apparently.
And, uh, it's, uh, I definitely I gotta go with the package on this one.
I think it will be probably a closer game than some people might think, but I'll go with the Packers.
Yeah, I'm going with the Packers, too.
I think this is gonna be a rough season for the lines, just cause they're bad luck and weak one.
Just maybe it was just a sign of some bad things to come for them.
But I have Aaron Rodgers as my M V P.
He's, he's, he's already up there.
He's he's gonna get better all year.
Davante Adams is gonna be dominant all year.
Hopefully, we see more of Erin Jones.
Get him involved a little bit more, but I'm taking the Packers here and I don't think it's going to be super close.
Now we got the bills and the Dolphins that bills.
One of my my team is on the up and coming.
And of course, I think everybody knows that the Dolphins are probably a few years away.
I think that the that the Bills, we're gonna win this game.
Obviously, he's pretty easily for May.
Uh, we saw Ryan Fitzpatrick kind of do Brian Fitzpatrick things last week.
You saw some good.
You saw the ugly.
And it's kind of what you expect from him.
I don't know if and you never really know what to expect from him each week.
This could be the week that he turns into Joe Montana.
So maybe he does.
Or this could be the week that he turns into Ryan Leaf.
So we don't we're not really sure, but I'm still gonna end up going with the bills on this one.
They just have the better team.
Overall, I love their defense.
I think Singletary is going to get involved a lot more.
I absolutely loved what I saw out of Josh Allen.
You know, three total touchdowns on the day.
I think they get Stefon Diggs more involved Obviously he loves John Brown of the deep Threat.
So I'm gonna have to go with the bills on this one.
I'm expecting Ah, Ryan fits magic game.
I'm going with the Dolphins here.
I think the bills are going to try to pass the ball a lot.
And the Dolphins really only strength on defense is their secondary.
They brought in Byron Jones.
I think Josh Allen is gonna have a tough time throwing the ball.
They're gonna have to trust their one game.
But I don't trust Devin Singletary to really carry them that far.
Like I said, I expect to get big game from fits magic.
So I'm going with the Dolphins.
Okay, You know, I respect it.
I think you're wrong, but I still respect it.
Now we have our disappointing team of Week one.
We got the Colts and the Vikings.
Yeah, I'm I'll go with the Vikings here.
I liked what I saw from their offense.
Even though they lost, I expect them to use Dalvin cook more, driving the ball down the field instead of just the red zone.
Kirk cousin looked really nice.
Adam feeling looked amazing and the Colts.
You know, they Philip Rivers, Haddon.
But that defense does not look like it did last year.
I think it's gonna be an issue for them this year.
I mean, when you let Minshew beat you like that, Kurt cousins going to do kind of the same thing.
So I'm going the Vikings here, you know, it's honestly kind of surprising.
But the Vikings are actually the underdog in this game, which I don't really understand.
I mean, the last time I looked, they were the underdog, at least on the sports book that I was looking at.
But I obviously ah, 100% agree with you.
I think the Vikings we're gonna win this game.
I don't think, you know, I'm just not a believer in in Philip Rivers anymore, That weird emotion that he's always had a kind of annoyed me in the first place, But I think he's really, really struggling.
Now it's, you know, you can kind of see the deterioration in his game, and I think that Viking just have the better team.
I think their defense will come together because, you know, like I said, when I think of Mike Zimmer. I think of defense.
I've never really thought of offense.
So I think he'll have them been prepared.
You know, it was Han**** Ways first game there, you know, they were still missing Daniel Hunter.
I mean, they will be for this game is well, but you have now You have, ah, game in a week of practice to, you know, kind of get everything rolling and everybody together.
So I should have the defense have played better.
And I'm gonna have to go with the Vikings in this one, too.
Now we have the nameless Washington football team and the Arizona Cardinals.
Obviously, everybody you know loved the DeAndre Hopkins Kyler Murray connection.
I think it continues this week.
I know that front seven is great, but on, like, Carson ones who can move around a little bit like don't get me wrong.
He's definitely not, you know, a brick wall back there.
But Kyle American move man, Kyler Murray's baseball comes out in him.
When when he sees an open field is like he's rounding first base, heading for a triple.
So I think that the 40 40 Niners Gosh, I think the cardinals are gonna end up taking this game over over the Washington football team and I think would be, I think, you know, it has the opportunity, a good game because you saw even last year that the Cardinals will play a good game against a team that we didn't really expect lose to a team that we kind of expected them to beat.
So you never really know what's going to truly happen.
But I still have to go with the Carl's and this one.
I loved what I saw out of their offense last week.
Obviously, you could be the team like the 40 Niners who just came off of the Super Bowl appearance.
And, you know, a lot of people have winning the division again, myself included.
It's definitely an impressive thing to see.
So I think that the Cardinals take care of business business against Washington.
Yeah, I think the Washington football team, their pass rush is really nice, and they're obviously gonna force Kyler Murray to roll out of the pocket and make a lot of plays with his legs.
But like he said, he's really good at that.
He thrives in those positions.
Yeah, it runs a lot of the defenders and can make moves like any running back in open space.
So I'm going with the Cardinals to even though I love Dwayne Haskins.
I really like dress off from him last week.
But just all around, that team is kind of a mess everywhere.
So I think the Cardinals, D Hop and Tyler are going to continue their connection.
And, yeah, I'm gonna take the Cardinals.
You know, it is kind of funny, though as much as people joked around about Kyler having that baseball background, I really think it helps because you know baseball, especially with him.
I think I do believe that he was a shortstop to.
So you know, that's a sport where you're constantly throwing on the run, things like that.
And, you know, football it Zamora pocket.
You know, if you're that type of pastor so he can throw on the run, he's comfortable doing in obviously getting out of bounds or sliding or something.
He's not gonna start with because let me tell you something sliding looks really easy, but well, clearly, we have clearly seen that some quarterbacks do not know how to do it.
I've seen people from Tom Brady toe the Big Bend look like they got shot when they're trying to go down the slide.
Kyler makes it a lot more graceful than they ever will, but moving on from that, we have a game that not to go either way in the score.
But I mean, could go either way in a blowout or close game.
In my opinion, in depends on what Texans team shows up, and that is protection to the Ravens.
I'm expecting it to be just because, like I said, I have the Ravens as a possible 14 and 2 15 and one team, and I definitely don't see them losing to the Texans.
They were just so impressive last week.
I know it was against the Brown, so you can, you know, take it with, you know, ah, pinch of salt there.
But it's It's still a very, very good team.
Obviously, everybody knows what their defense is all about.
It's it's stopping the run, It's having great players on the outside and then it's the Lamar Jackson Show on offense.
Obviously, that run game is what they're gonna thrive on.
Dobbins looked good last week.
I think Ingram is going to get more involved and then Hey, look, Hollywood looked good.
Mark Andrews looks good.
You know, I forgot to mention Mark Andrews was my a f C pick to go off e.
I was I was I was good on that one.
I was good on that one.
So I definitely have the Ravens.
And this one for sure.
Yeah, I'm going with the Ravens to I think, uh, Shawn Watson is gonna have a rough day.
That offensive line didn't do anything for him against the Chiefs and the Chiefs.
Defense is solid, but they're nowhere near as good as the Ravens front seven.
I see the Ravens taking this one pretty easily.
I could see to Sean making it a close game just because he he could make magical plays like that.
But Lamar Mart dead Lamar things and shows that he wasn't just a one hit wonder last year.
He could still still producing his his accuracy.
Got a lot better.
He could notice You could see it in week one.
See, I think the Ravens win this one.
Now we got ah, game.
That is probably end up being a blowout even though I've said it before that.
I think the Chargers are a knave, Ridge to an above average quarterback, away from being a very, very good team.
That is the Chiefs and the Chargers.
We obviously know what the Chiefs are gonna dio.
It's, you know, pass very pass, heavy offense.
And, you know, now, with Clyde, we could see them run the ball out more.
Which is a very scary thought for defense is I'm sure that Anthony Lynn is up at night trying to figure out what he's gonna do against that team.
Even though listen, the Chargers got some boys on that defense.
Desmond Caine, Chris Harris Jr.
Now Casey Hayward has always been good, you know.
And Jerome, they got Joey Bosa.
So it is a stacked, stacked Chargers defense about the Chiefs.
Just have way too much talent, man.
You could only cover so many people for so long.
They obviously have an Olympic track team at wide receiver.
They have when they have the second best tight end, in my opinion in Travis Kelsey and then my homes is, you know, the best quarterback in football right now, so I think it's probably gonna end up being a blowout.
You know, they the Chargers barely beat the Bengals, and it took a hamstring from from the Bengals kicker to tie.
So I definitely think that this is the chief's game toe lose.
Yeah, I think it's a pretty easy choice here.
The Chiefs are just They're probably going to be in that 14 15 win area.
And, uh, I just see this as being a blow.
I don't think that offense is gonna be able to keep up with what the Chiefs are gonna dio.
The charges do have a very nice secondary, though, but they don't have Derwin James, which is a very big hit because he does a lot for them.
Yeah, it sucks to see a such a young, talented player go down with an injury before the season even starts, but because I don't think he can Honestly, I mean, I don't know if I'm, you know, over exaggerating.
I think he could be a top five player in football if he's healthy.
I mean, he could do so much, he can come down into the box and rush the passer.
He can do all those type of things came chancellor type of guy? Yeah, absolutely.
Now we got the final game of that Sunday, which is my New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks.
And listen, I love me. Some Patriots.
They've won me, you know, six Super Bowls in my lifetime.
Three that I actually remember because I was, you know, I solid four years old, as during some of them, So I can't really, you know, throw back to those games, but I just don't I don't see how they win this game.
Russell, Russell, Wilson.
You know, I've said it before.
He's as much as people talk about him.
He's still one of the most disrespected players in the NFL because everybody always says, Oh, it's Patrick Mahomes and then it's It's everybody else.
If I'm being honest with you and you listen to feel free to tell me I'm wrong, I think it's passion for Homes and Russell Wilson.
It is not that far of a gap.
Russell Wilson is unfree.
King Believable had four passing touchdowns over 300 yards last week.
You know he puts the team on his back every week.
It's nothing that you know We're really surprised to see anymore, and he is just unbelievable.
Obviously, the Patriots offense look a lot different than what I'm used to seeing, which is Brady standing back there picking apart defense is it was, you know, like I said, at one point in the third quarter, I believe it was 80% Russia or play action.
So that is definitely what the offense is gonna look like for the future.
And you know, I'll in May.
It's probably more fun to watch, but I don't know how effective it's gonna be.
Obviously, we saw the Ravens do it, but I think at this point, obviously, in Cam's career, Lamar is probably, ah, lot more athletic than Cam.
So I don't know how it's gonna work.
But I think the Seahawks we're gonna end up taking this one just because I have too much respect for Russell Wilson Thio to say that he's not gonna beat him, especially because it's in Seattle.
I know that they don't have the 12th man out there, but, you know, going to Seattle trying to win there, even without fans, is probably gonna be a tough thing for the Patriots.
Yeah, I'm rolling with my God came here.
I think it's gonna be a really good game.
Obviously, Russell Wilson is going to do what Russell Wilson does.
But I think Belichick's gonna have a game plan set, uh, at least attempt to contain him and limit his options downfield, because that's what Wilson really thrives.
And is those deep balls he His accuracy with those is just amazing.
So I think they're gonna definitely locked down that part.
Forced them to use the run a lot more go short throws, I think came, is going to run the ball a lot again.
Like you said, it's gonna be play action rushing.
That's what they're going to dio.
I think they'll be able to keep up with their offense.
And, yeah, I'm a role with the Patriots in this game, making me look bad picking against my team.
I don't I don't like you for that.
I mean, I can't believe you didn't pick him.
Listen, listen, sometimes you know, you just got to go with the better team.
Don't bet against Cam, Man.
That's all I gotta say.
Oh, now that's that's another.
That's a whole other stream.
But the final game of week to Monday Night Football is the Saints and the Raiders.
Now, as much as I loved what I saw out of the radios last week, you know they made a competitive with the Panthers.
And you know, rugs looks pretty good before he went out.
Josh Jacobs is just is unbelievable.
He's on a mission to prove that he should have been the rookie of the year last year, which is what I thought he was, anyway.
You know, I love Kyler, but I think it was Josh Jacobs.
And you know, Derek Carr didn't play bad, either.
But I think that, you know the Saints is gonna be too much to handle, Obviously, result with the same defense could do last week against the Bucks.
And then we obviously all know what what Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara can do now.
The only thing that is, you know, kind of putting it up in the air a little bit is Michael Thomas does not look like he's gonna play with that high ankle spring.
I did see something today that Michael Thomas says that he doubt he doesn't play, but what NFL player or player in general doesn't think that they can play through.
Ah, freaking torn a c l.
So, you know, you kind of always expect to hear that from people, but I don't think Michael Thomas is gonna end up playing in this game.
But I'm still gonna end up rolling with states on this one because I think their offense is gonna be just a little bit too much for the Raiders defense to handle.
And I think if it really came down to I think I believe Maurin the Saints defense to get a big stop than I do believe in the Raiders.
Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Saints to the Raiders, air rocking with a young secondary right now, and I think Drew Brees is gonna pick him apart, and, uh, that defense is still pretty solid.
They got a nice secondary, and I think they're gonna limit what Derek Carr does more than we did.
Josh Jacobs is still gonna have his way out there because that's just I mean, he's one of those running backs.
He's gonna be a problem in the league for everybody, but I think it's a I think the Saints win this one by a large margin.
Now that wraps up our picks for week two.
Obviously had some differing opinions there, but you know, mostly agreed on it.
I'll probably end up having a better record again.
I kind of just expect that at this point.
But we will see how that end up going ready for John.
Let's get into it.
Let's get into it.
Go ahead, go on, Onley Because it's the last time I'm gonna do this because I don't want to talk about this team ever again, Man.
I mean, come on.
Multiple challenge flags on your opinions on the Clippers, first of all, still challenging back then when you said they were the deepest team and challenge on you picking them.
But the main challenge is that this wasn't the biggest disappointment from a team effort, man.
I mean, you know, let me stop you right there.
Let me stop you right there because that's my challenge Flag to you because it's not the biggest disappointment.
No, like it's you add the reigning finals M v p.
You add a top three M v p candidate the year before to a team that took the eventual Western Conference champs to six games in the first round with the biggest point comeback in MBA history.
And they lose in the second round.
So they they lose.
No, he was he was there for the last two games.
Oh, the last two. Whatever.
And so all you lose from that team is I mean, they're good players.
Shane Gallo are great players, but you replace them with CO y and P G.
And then you add Marcus Morris, you add Reggie Jackson and you've losing the second round to the Denver Nuggets.
You let Jamal Murray dropped 40 points on two of the best defenders in the league.
Man, that's got to be the biggest disappointment ever.
Like there's just on.
I'll tell you what a big disappointment right now.
Double double digit blown leads in all three of the games.
You were up 31 grow up 31 All you gotta do is win one more.
You had, you were in the position that is choking.
And then I'll tell you to bigger disappointments right now.
That first year in Miami with LeBron, you got the best player in the league.
He got Prime d Wade, and you've got a very, very nice player.
And Chris Bosch And you know, Mr LeBron comes out here.
Not one, not two, not three. Yeah.
How did that work out? You're right.
You didn't get three to two of them.
Yeah, Yeah, listen more than you.
You know what? You know what? That second one took the luckiest shot in N B A history.
Stop it! Stop it! You're gonna tell me that's not true right now.
Ray Allen hits threes, but I don't know why people he hit that.
He didn't even look at the three point line.
He just magically stepped behind it did.
What happened the 33 possessions before that? All three of the possessions before that.
LeBron LeBron bucket, LeBron bucket.
The only reason LeBron, what happened? Only reason that what happened? The last shot.
You want the one that because you missed the go ahead three.
What? That's what Ray Allen is.
Therefore he's supposed to hit those shots s So you're telling me? Oh, no.
You're telling me you gotta win a finals game and you got LeBron d Wade and Chris Bosh on the floor and you're drawing up to play for Rayo Glenwood.
It wasn't drawn up for Alan.
You're right, LeBron.
Okay, but you're saying that's what he's there to Dio One is there to dio you're gonna tell me with a straight face? LeBron is supposed to hit threes when he was not a three point shooter in Miami.
Listen, why did he take the three then? Because he had to.
He's the best player on the planet. He doesn't take it.
Everyone hates on him.
He hit two before that.
Hit two of them to make it a three point getting hit the third.
He should have but to say that Ray Allen saved him.
No, LeBron already had one under his belt.
Her Okay, you're gonna look at me with a straight face right now and tell me if he didn't lose that final.
That's a huge ass trick.
No, because he still had a lot of years ahead of him.
People okay? He loses that finals, Then he loses the next to so now.
So now he on Lee has how many rooms do you have right now? What? Three.
So we would have the one in Miami and the one in Cleveland.
You're gonna tell me, what is his record now what? Three and seven and finals three and six.
Get it right? Or three and six.
Who? So you're telling me if he was two and eight or two and seven? Yeah, two and seven.
That that wouldn't be even a bigger ass.
Strict on his name.
See the fact that he was able to get to that many fun overlooks at did he winning or losing? Okay.
32 year old way.
He had 32 year old Dwayne Wade with broken knees.
Chris Bosch was very good.
Ray Allen was like Ray Allen was like 90 years old.
He could barely play either.
Listen, nine year old LeBron LeBron LeBron is the reason they were there.
He actually led his team.
Unlike the focal point of this conversation, which you completely changed.
Kawhi Leonard, who had 14 points in a game seven and two points in the second half.
No, no, because Miami team is a bigger disappointment that my team, that Miami team and that warriors team that blew the 31 lead are bigger disappointment in my eyes.
Let me ask you this, who is a better team, the 2011 Mavs or the current Denver Nuggets? Hey, listen, you're coming back from 31 twice.
You might be goaded.
No matter what you do, they Kobe.
They beat the first with Tim Duncan, Manu and Parker when they were still good.
They beat Kobe in L. A.
And then they'd be our thunder with our big three, bro.
No, that Mavs team is goaded.
They are goaded nuggets.
Get to the finals.
That Jason Terry and Jason Kidd and Caron Butler.
I mean, they had a good squad.
The team is disrespected too much.
They're all right.
You call in the N B.
All right, you call it.
All right? Come on.
Dirk is not all right.
The rest of the team was all right.
They were very good.
They want to ring very good to you.
Listen, I listen.
All I know is LeBron was was, you know, Reggie Miller.
So that's what you doing next year, man, what do you do the next two years, got to congratulate Congratulations.
And then when he did the year after that, another one lost what he do. Two years later.
What's he gonna do this year? What's he gonna do this year? He's getting number four this year.
Don't even think Kyrie for that one.
50 seconds left.
It's not like that was a buzzer beater to end the game.
The offenses were stopped blocked by dame.
They were a first look at that block that block will give him credit for It is the greatest block in NBA history.
Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah.
I mean, **** did what he did.
And Bam did what he did in the finals.
It would have been better, but, you know, that wasn't the finals.
See, just you're missing it, bro.
I still e I still think the warriors you better.
You had the best record in N B A history, and you let a team that you were definitely better than we come back from a 31 lead in the finals.
That's LeBron doing LeBron things, bro.
That's that's what you call e.
I blame. I blame Clay for that.
Because you wanna know what the interview was right after Clay said, I guess his feelings got hurt when LeBron complained about a call on LeBron laughed in the postgame interview that they went on.
Hey, the rest is history.
I don't even gotta explain. Everyone knows what happened.
Well, I guess we're never gonna come to an actual agreement on this one.
