What's up? Junky Nation scores George here and goes on a Wednesday on our usual Wednesdays on SportsCastr, Ready to rock and roll for the next hour.
Got a fun show plan I'm gonna talk a little bit about, Oh, man, we're gonna focus on the lightweight division in many different ways because Dustin Pedroia and Tony Ferguson, the whole world, wants to see it.
But somehow there they're just not able to come to an agreement.
I think it's more in the Dust Employees A versus the UFC side.
Even Tony Ferguson's telling me you have to pay them so or to pay him because he wants that fight.
However, there's options.
Good friend of the show.
Michael Chandler, Man.
He's already talked to the USC.
The USC likes him.
He's warm to trying something new.
I guess he's also been talking to ballot, or so he's enjoying his free agency.
But, you know, I see that as a Plan B.
And then, of course, from there, you know you Connor McGregor is always in the news.
I wish it was for better reason, but we'll discuss that on you know I'll be versus just engaging.
Speaking of G he and some UFC fighters along with President Dana White.
They went to go see Donald Trump and a Trump rally.
So, like I said, the focus of the show is gonna be £155 on the news side.
But how about 100 and £35? We have a guest today.
It's the new belle.
It or bantamweight champion Juan Archuletta will be chatting with him in about 30 minutes.
Right Goes 30 minutes.
All right, so it's gonna be a fun show here.
Good booking, by the way.
Timely book. And you just wanted folks.
You just be actually, Mixed is really Is Patrick with the calm, Patchy? Um, this past one Saturday. Sorry.
My little goes is Avengers the Young Blood initiative.
He was the first one.
He's actually the one that gave me the ideas.
Have you explained the to the audience? What? Your Avengers ideas about three months ago, one or two let actually reached out and said, Hey, I got your number three cups sponsors and I'd love to come on the show.
Oh, you know, when you told me that yesterday I thought you referenced like a past interview that he had dropped it in there somewhere.
And so what had happened? Waas, Um our show was Monday through Friday, so we had tons of time to interview fighters, and we we loved to interview fighters before they got to the UFC.
And when we got on Sirius Satellite, the the audience loves to hear from UFC fighters and top UFC fighters.
So we kind of got away from that.
And so he was one of the first guys to reach out.
And we now have this platform where we can we could start doing that again.
And so I said, You know what? Hell, yeah. Come on.
You know, and Cub had said really nice things about him, and you need a good fighter.
So we had him on.
But that had given me the idea of Let's try and restock.
Ah, bunch of new young prospects So that when guys like Daniel Corny Way interviewed him his first by Connor McGregor.
George brought him up.
A lot of these fighters we used to talk to before they were even you have seen.
So this one is kind of funny because it actually paid off almost instantly, You know? He won.
He won that fight.
And I think he might have won one other one other after that.
And then here he is. He's got titled.
And then here he is on SportsCastr.
So the whole plan just kind of work, But it all started with him.
I know we've had a mom before, too.
Yeah, so it's not like this is a his debut we've had him on before.
A few fights, In fact, one I remember was around the time when I think his kid had had some sort of an episode and I don't remember exactly what it is, but it may have been a seizure.
Seizures? No, no, no, no hurt at home.
And he was He was at a camp.
I believe this kid was a daycare.
Yeah, like that.
And then one might have been like in Big Bear.
Someone had to go.
Hey, has traveled to Temecula for the fight, but because of what he had heard, he, I believe, was gonna either go home or went home.
But that situation got settled, but he fought with that on his mind? Um, yeah.
So I I remember having him on the show a couple of times, and man got to congratulate him, and I'm not take some medicine to because on our staff picks, I picked Patrick Mix.
Uh, look, Archuletta doesn't have too many losses.
Patrick had none going in.
So it sounds like I picked some wild card or something like that.
You know, he had part in the featherweight Grand Prix and I felt like, you know, honestly, I bet you one forties this class of that existed 1 35 looks like it's tough because he's pretty stocky, you know? But 1 45.
He also looks like he might be outside to some of them.
I don't know what the point is that this is a world champ Now congrats.
I'll be the first to shake his hand.
Hey, beat Patrick Knicks man.
And now you know we'll see who he defends against.
We'll, you know, we'll unpack all of that when we talk to him.
And we'll also look at some of these other fight cards that took place on Saturday.
Some of the SportsCastr audience, you know that.
Listen here the junkie radio.
You may not have heard our takes on the other stuff that happened this weekend, so let's do that real fast.
Uh, the autumn a cheetah came up a little bit short against Bill Davis.
I thought that was a pretty close fight.
In fact, I thought they were going to see him.
A cheetah's name from a cheetah had done enough.
Davis didn't really wrestle much, and that's that's what I felt, what might be the difference.
But no, they did say, Phil, there is his name.
He wins, and I imagine he wants another crack at the Champ name Cough, who's beating him once, and now he holds the belt that Davis would like to get back, so I can't imagine there's anyone else.
He's already fought baiter twice and lost debater, so I just don't think there's even a reason to fight better when you can go straight to the channel.
This is the path for him.
But you know he's lucky is in belter because that type of performance I get that you have to violate Liotta, match it a certain way.
But it was just way too passive on both sides.
And if this were the UFC, she would probably getting criticized.
What, you want a title shot off of that? You want to move up after that? So feels just I hope that's just because it was Liotta Machida Mhm cat Zingano. Gotta win.
Um, hang on a second.
Cat Zingano our dog cat Zingano gotta win.
And that's all I want to say about that.
It wasn't a great win.
She hadn't fought in a while, and this was her debut at Bela Tor.
I've always enjoyed covering Cat as an athlete, and I feel like she's given some really, really nice fights.
She's paid her dues.
Um, look, that's just not a deep division.
So once sideboard fights, if she were to defend her title I'm sorry.
I don't have the ladies young the young lady's name or her opponent, uh, that she's gonna be fighting on CBS Sports Network elsewhere made that announcement.
If she should get by there, I suppose a case could be made for cat versus sideboard, but I think I'd rather have CAT fight once more of it.
she did Leslie Spence calling her out.
It's good for her.
She needs that, like a little bit more experience getting right back into it.
I really don't hope.
I hope they don't throw it back in because, I mean, let's be honest with catching on.
If you're right now, Yeah.
If you throw her in there, I mean, come on, being oddsmaker.
What is that? Minus 500,000, I think.
I mean, Zingano didn't look good in this last fight, and I think she had lost, like, three of her last four coming out of the U. F. C.
And she hasn't fought often.
Yeah, on she's really in a natural bantamweight sideboards off solid featherweight.
I think you just 896 100 business wise.
It wouldn't make sense to just had she looked great.
Then maybe you could sell that fight in that fashion.
But I think you need her toe look really, really good before you could sell that type of fight.
And she changes experience too.
Lesley Smith was calling around.
You run the risk that if Smith beats her, the not your face with Smith was a cyborg, and we all know that that's happened once before in the UFC.
It didn't go well for Smith, but I suppose she's just doing her job.
But if she happens, the, uh make her way to another title shots, and that's I guess that's what you got to run, right.
But I think I think it's a risk.
Your what you have to be willing to take.
And sometimes Vela Tory, they get to treat criticized by protecting too many fighters and not maybe having enough of their good fighters just fight, get to a certain result.
That's just what you gotta do, man.
You know, who knows? Maybe Smith looks great.
Beat Zynga on and and sideboard.
And next thing you know, they got themselves someone eyes that the likely scenario.
No, I think everything stops at Cris Cyborg, one of the all time greats.
We'll see, uh, fight topping for a reason, and that's that.
So Archuletta defeated patchy mix.
We'll talk with Archuletta about that in about 20 minutes.
Uneven, Gracie defeated Jon Fitch, Jon Fitch retired.
End of a career good career.
Possibly you could say a great career, but maybe there's a word in between good and great.
Because if if it all ends it great, you know, if you have no more adjectives past Great, then maybe it wasn't a great career, but he did win the world title.
He was a long time top 10 range fighter in UFC.
Um, held his own over a belt.
Or so that's it.
He's done on demon Gracie.
Look, he's like 11 and one.
I could see him possibly tangling with Douglas FEMA in the future.
Douglas Neema is fighting gay garden massage for the vacant middleweight belt over a belt.
Or so he's kind of got his hands full, even Grace.
Atlanta Tickle fight.
I loved even Gracie.
I think he's managed really well, and I think he's learning a lot like he's showing a lot.
I honestly think this dude could Could what you see from him now, I think it could be double that that talent and maybe like a year or two I love.
I love watching him fight.
I think he says all the right things.
Think he's managed really well.
I really think the Stewart's gonna blow up.
Maybe we'll see the submission was nice.
He'll hook. You don't see those too often.
And it's not like Jon Fitch isn't a pretty solid grappler.
He's obviously a wrestle wrestler.
It came out of Purdue, and he was one of the first.
I think they called him Gorilla jujitsu black belts under Dave Camarillo, who was a longtime judoka, Black belt.
And so his system WAAS guerrilla Jiu jitsu was blending Jiu jitsu and, um, Judo.
And John, I think, was one of his first black belts.
Thio also fight in mixed martial arts.
But look, man, he's leg locks.
They've changed the game in the last 5 10 years and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and some are just really, really good and attacking the legs.
And I don't care if you're black, but they're not.
A lot of people are tapping Liz Carmouche Gotta win over Deanna Beneke.
Only Digs defeated Derek Campos, and that was pretty much belt.
Or this past weekend again, they're going to CBS Sports in October.
That's a pretty big network at this moment in the sense that they got Champions League, which is big in the soccer world.
They got the Jim Rome show.
They got Tiki, attorney and other talking head show.
That's doing pretty well.
I think Adam Schein might have a show.
Their college sports is They're reading about college football.
Correct? The SEC is huge for them.
It's not just CBS.
So there's a difference between CBS and CBS Sports Network.
But yes, whatever is now on CBS leads over to CBS Sports Network, and, uh, they have picked up something else, too, And I was spacing, you know, on it.
But the Big 10 is going to come back in October Now they just announced Yeah, cool.
Yeah, that is huge.
And I heard the Pac 10 was gonna try and talk it over, So I guess they're gonna maybe trying.
Well, they vote.
So like, I think Nebraska and three other schools were the only one that said no.
And then the other seven said, Yeah, so just think they're gonna come out for the whole thing.
Agreed? Yeah, all of them have to come.
But But there were three schools and said no, we don't wanna dio why? I think the school should have the option if they don't want to come back.
I think they do, But I think they just say, Okay, well, look, there's been a lot of football being played, and what I don't want to do is ever minimize somebody's life.
I did see a young man.
I think he was a high school footballer from Georgia who passed away because of Kobe.
And here's my concern If we're gonna just jump off for a second, hopefully that gives me time to remember the other big sport that that CBS Sports landed.
I know they got a Champion's League and mixed martial arts, but there's another one, um, in football, you have a lot of big 300 pounders and what I've noticed with Cove it is, you know, obesity.
It goes after a lot of people with obesity, so you have a lot of outstanding athletes and trusting man.
These 300 pounders that air 67 watch when they pull and go around the corner there, running 45 forties man.
They are phenomenal athletes, but they're big dudes.
That's the part that's scary to me.
And football is some of these big offensive and defensive lineman.
If they were to get it, what kind of about what they have.
But for the most part, I think, I think remember Coach Ed Orgeron, who used to coach the USC? He's the L S U head coach, he said yesterday.
He thinks most of his players have had it.
Uh, that was a big statement.
Yeah, so we'll see.
Look, we just hope that when they come back, it's safe.
I've seen some high school football in college football.
I haven't heard the returns yet.
I hope everybody comes out of it.
The season healthy and hope for the Big 10 in the Pac 10 are making wise decisions, and that's that.
All right, so it didn't occur to me goes What else is on CBS Sports? Whatever hits me.
It can't be that many major sports, right? Mm.
Basketball, football, baseball, hockey.
Mm e, I think one of those, um, it's one of the other sports e had some boxing? No, I just read the press release and I remember going okay.
They're starting to build up like I'm not trying to put it over and say, It's the greatest thing ever, you know? I mean, Fox Sports remember that when UFC came aboard with Fox Sports? Um, they struggled early on. It's It's not easy.
People go straight to ESPN and then the major networks and ESPN struggled in the late eighties and early nineties.
It took a lot before we went.
It takes a while before people go.
Let's see what's on to 21 on direct TV box sports things to 19 on direct TV.
It takes a while.
Everybody knows what 206 is on direct TV.
Everybody knows that if you have Cox cable, what 30 is that? ESPN.
It takes a while for it to stay, and you just gotta build up in line up, you know, with with shows and sports and sports leagues.
Okay, uh, that's pretty much belt.
Or over the weekend again, we'll be talking to want Archuletta, the new bantamweight champion and belt, or in about 10 15 minutes.
The UFC took place this past weekend.
Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill had a really, really, really good fight.
Their straw weighed £215.
Uh, controversial decision.
I don't think there was enough to say it's an uproar.
It's Ah, robbery.
I thought Angela Hill one, but they gave it to Michelle waters.
I know Angela Hill one, but it wasn't a stamp I wasn't like That's the way it's gonna be.
I was a little concerned, And then when I looked on Twitter and I saw how many people thought Michelle water someone certain rounds, I thought, Okay, this could go either way.
So in no way it's not even a stick up.
It definitely is in a robbery.
It was just a really, really close fight.
But it's a big deal because, you know, in that main event fell out and this became the main event a lot of people just went through.
This is not like main event worthy, but they think there's a lot of us and they they really, really just took it on and they flop Great.
It was a great match, but I actually like to see it again.
Yeah, and it's not meaning it might be.
Now Michelle Waterson may have one herself that and Angela Hill, especially if they just run the rematch.
But I'm talking about the casual fan on the strip that's looking for something to do, and then they go, Hey, you know there's some fights this weekend.
Oh, really Yeah, man.
Uh, Angela Hills fighting Michelle Waterson.
The man might just go.
Now if you tell the fan this weekend Hey, there's some facts fights going on this weekend.
Tickets are for sale.
Really? Who's fighting? Tyron Woodley and Kobe coming.
That's what I mean about, you know, someone that can headline a card that can fill the stadium and give people that owned the watch.
Um, despite may change some people's minds.
Now, some people might be more familiar with Waterston in Hill.
The hardcore is no hard core will watch anything talking about the casual fan.
Uh, man as a tired remained undefeated.
He defeated Comma Worthy Roxanne.
And really, she was almost 2.
5 to 1 underdog.
So big, big upset.
Ed Herrmann defeated Mike Rodriguez Really, really controversial fight there.
Mike Rodriguez that need a couple of times in like the Solar Plex area.
And Herman was hurt from that, except the referee thought it was ah, low blow and didn't inform them that that was the case.
And I don't blame it, but in the end and had a chance to recover, came back and finished Rodriguez with a submission.
So Okay, but how do you fix the situation? Okay, let me If you're the commission, how do you fix it? If you're Dana White, how do you fix it? So Dana already said I think I think Rodriguez one.
I'm gonna pay him his win bonus.
So he got taken care of.
He didn't blame Met Herman because he knows that that's part of the game.
Hey, did come at the referee whose name is Christy Ione who goes.
And I know from when we called fights on the amateur.
Seen at tough enough way saw Mark Smith and Chris Tony working those fights.
And they over the years moved into the big leagues where they're calling U F C.
And they're good referees.
I stand by that I don't remember seeing too many. I remember.
Remember, Tie oniy One time stood a fight up and I think the fight.
I think one fighter was in a dominant position.
I remember what we all want.
What? But for the amount of it was amateur fights.
And I think at the time not much was even going on from that mountain So maybe maybe they, you know over there, like there's any sign of blood, they stop it.
Any sign of because it's amateur, you know what I mean? So I think maybe he just wanted to get things moving quicker.
Who knows what I would call? That was a mistake, and that was probably eight years ago on.
Then I saw what I saw Saturday night, but I'm not ready to go.
What's this guy doing? Their Christmas body of work? Does not say that, Correct.
He's had a couple of blenders, but everybody's had blenders.
In fact, because some of these guys have been doing native and longer, they probably have more.
These things just happen.
I think the UFC addressed it properly and giving him his win bonus and just kind of hopefully going forward.
They promote him as if he won the fight.
You know, whether they give him next ast faras, the commission goes, I would just like a statement to come out of crystal.
Just Hey, I ****ed up or I messed up or something like that, because I think everybody just gets it.
We all understand it was just a mistake.
It's not gonna happen again.
Hopefully, he's gonna I mean, you can't even say that it's not gonna happen again.
But what you can say is I'm going to do everything in my power so that this doesn't happen.
Mhm, that's about it.
That's all you can do in this situation.
I would like for the commission to acknowledge that they spoke to the referee about the mistake and I would also like for the referee to go.
That was my bad.
I don't know if that has actually happened.
I don't know that I follow Chris Tony, Maybe I should take a look, but we discussed this on spinning back click.
And I remember John or you made the point.
No, no, you actually produce.
So maybe it was Mike.
One of those two guys said, Hey, look, because they thought it was a little blow.
He was going to get the five minutes anyway.
And during that time, if they noticed what happened, then perhaps they could They could do something.
You know what I mean? But he never he never penalized him a point, so we can't fix that.
And then at that point, if he looks up well, Ed has just five minutes or while it's talking to the raft or whatever.
He's pacing back and forth.
And if he looks up and says, Oh, wait, that was a shot to the ribs or to the liver or whatever.
Get in there and fight.
He's not going to do that.
I mean, he may just end the five minutes right there, you know? And while it is catching his breath and say, Hey, look, we got to start this I don't know.
Well, what I do know is this Every commission needs to be on board if we're gonna actually implement replay right then and there.
Andi, have to do this everywhere we go, in the world and every state that we go in the United States.
But sometimes not every commission of you know, some observed that we call the 2017 rules.
Um, it has to be uniformed, and I don't know that that would happen.
That's one thing to what about when somebody goes, you put me in the eye, and then they're recovering, and then we all look and go. It was this knuckle.
It was knuckle hit you and you didn't you know like, if we're going to stop it every single time, then you're asking to slow down the game.
And I know there's a lot of you, especially millennials, that want to get it right. They live.
They've grown up in the re player where they want to get it.
Well, guess what. Replays wrong? A lot, too.
Um, there's a lot of calls that are just They're just wrong there.
Missed in the MBA in the NFL, you got humans trying to regulate a sport that happens really, really fast.
They can't catch everything.
What we can do is that Tony continues to mess up.
We have to remove town.
But like we stated earlier, that hasn't been the case.
You just have to live with it, man.
Does it suffer Rodriguez? Especially if you wouldn't have gotten paid.
Yes, but this doesn't happen.
I mean, I can't name another occasion off the top of my head like this.
Can you know what? Can you do this? I don't want to say, Let's turn it around and say Rodriguez is the winner and Herman's loser.
Can you just make it a no contest? Is that fair? Because it sucks.
It sucks for that kid toe.
Have that l on his record.
Well, you got paid but paid.
I just say, Make it no content.
And I think that's replay after the fight.
We're talking about replay during the fight, though. Yeah, yeah, I know.
But that's why I'm asking.
What can you do? I think that's one thing you can do is just say, Look, we all messed up that night.
This guy didn't really lose the fight.
But then they restarted the fight and the dude took.
I think if the fight that ended there and they would do to a low blow or whatever on then reviewed it, Yeah, but once they re started the fight and one guy submitted the other one e don't know, I think at that point the corner, whatever. Right to go.
Wait, why are we starting? Look, there's a clear indication there that we didn't need him in the balls were all watching it, you know? And now my fighters I don't know.
I just think this doesn't happen enough for us.
Toe Really worry about.
It was a big mistake.
Luckily, the UFC major right? It does suck that the guy's got taken, Al.
But one thing I've noticed is the fighters.
E think there are a song as the stock doesn't drop.
I think the l doesn't bother them as much, so it doesn't to me.
It doesn't seem like Dana is making it sound like, Well, now sticking with the other losers or my customers job or anything like that, that's not having what they wanted their money.
They want to win votes.
If you committed a crime, let's just say breaking and entering, right? You go to jail and they go, Hey, it turns out we found the camera.
Here's some money for us throwing you in jail and all that ****, but we're just gonna keep this on your record.
Wouldn't you kind of go? No, I didn't do that.
Get it off my **** record.
I think that's how fighter thinks.
I think they think get it off my **** record.
Well, he's already said he's not ****ed at Herman.
He already did some media.
He said he's not ****ed in Thailand.
He said he's not ****ed that Herman, like I said.
I think the whatever he got paid for his win bonus justifying it, Yeah, there's a lot of people that Yeah, there's a lot of people that also say All right, I'm guilty because they just want the lesser lesser sentence on and they're willing to live with it.
Um, but I I don't know, because then what you're gonna do is you're gonna get into Hey, look, 19 Media said that I want on Lee.
One didn't let's go against what the judges saw These.
That's different, though.
That's what that's what I'm saying, Trying to always get it right.
You just have to live with the decisions of the three humans that decided decision.
And if it's not a decision and there's a finish or there's controversy, you, your hands, Aaron, What the referee said, You know, like I say, this doesn't happen too often.
Everybody that's been wrong usually happens once over 20 or 35 maybe a second time.
Some some don't have that type of controversy, I don't know, but, um, I don't know about the no contest wants to fight already. We started.
We had to finish.
Um, but we're running out of time because we have Archila in four minutes, right? All right, let's talk about Toya versus Tony.
Do you see now has even gone a little further and said, Dana thinks that Poitier Does he even wanna fight because he price himself so high? He almost forced the UFC to go.
We can't pay that.
We're just going to move on.
But I didn't think this saying I feel like Dustin didn't want to fight.
Now the fight would have been on October 24th.
So we have more than a month we have about and they've been talking about enough for a few days, probably six weeks away.
Dustin Boy taken, Get ready for Tony Ferguson in six weeks.
He's a high level athlete.
He's already been in Florida.
Dustin right away told our Mike Bond.
No, that's not true.
I want to fight.
That's just this price.
So that's Dana playing the negotiating game within.
Ah, within doing media, I get why he's doing it.
He just picked the wrong guy to do it.
That Dustin point is not that guy like, we all know that dude will take just about any type of fight.
Yeah, e I wish she I wish you wouldn't have said that last thing if they just didn't come to an agreement.
But it's not like he called him a coward, but he's just saying he doesn't really wanna fight.
That's that's just not cool to do.
Better respect your exactly.
Especially one that earned land like that.
All right, He's a little early, but we don't mind.
We get more time to chat with Juan Archuletta.
Spaniard? Uh, no.
Just like us being cooperative.
25 2 to the table.
But most importantly, now, where's bold around spaces developed for mm, a animal champ.
What's up, champ? How you doing? Uh oh.
He throws on this. Well, there he is.
There's this lovely mug right there.
Um, if he's driving.
Oh, there you go. There you go.
How you doing? Are you You're in a moving vehicle right now.
I'm actually having heading to recovery right now.
The recovery is a big part of my career.
So, um, you know the week I usually don't do interviews because I do a lot of recovery.
Um, but this is different, you know, I gotta I'm a world champion.
So there's there's, uh, there's responsibilities of being a world champ.
Congrats on the wind and recovery.
Is that anything serious or just your standard? What you do every after every fight? Yeah.
After every fight.
You know, we, uh, do the training lab in Sam Cal.
Evita are recoveries super dialed in? You know, it's just important to recover after a fight, as it is, Thio train for a fight because you wanna have longevity in the sport.
So, you know, I make sure that this is versus on foremost my priority after fights.
You know, I could care less about everything else.
I just wanna make sure I'm healthy for my family.
At the end of the day, what do you guys gonna do for recovery today? I do.
Hyperbaric treatment. Cryotherapy.
Um, uh, P e M f pad that helps circulation and, uh, you know, just just a lot of cool things.
Um, that help regenerate the body.
Red light therapy, help with the swelling and the black eyes and stuff like that.
So must be fun to do recovery when you're a world champion, though, uh, makes it a lot easier, that's for sure.
I mean, it's been, what, a couple of nights.
Now you have to enjoy it.
I'm sure you've watched the fight over.
Or you could tell me if you haven't.
But what does it feel like? I mean, you probably hit a goal that you wanted to hit when you first started in the sports.
I mean, after the fight way did the interviews and got out and everything was closed.
And so I was like, talking with my family.
Then they had to jump on the plane right away, and I had to finish packing up my room.
And then I had to jump on the plane.
And then I got home, got off the plane, and then, uh, my family was there to celebrate my birthday and the wind.
And it was crazy, man, I was just, like, still in the euphoric state of mind.
And, uh, they were asking, Are you OK? You look tired and stuff.
I was like, You want to go home? And I was like, No, man, I want everyone here. It's awesome.
Like I'm just, like, happy.
Like I don't I'm not showing no emotion right now.
but I'm seriously so happy.
Like I ate good.
My brother cooked up on the trigger.
Ah, bunch of tri tip on your salad Chicken Asada and my mom cooked some of on yellows and red chili and beans and, uh, Savita And so we just ate out, you know? And it was just like I was in a food coma.
I was a world champ.
I had everyone that I loved surrounding me.
And then, um, I still didn't it still didn't kick in until yesterday.
I was like, Man, I'm a world champ.
I'm I'm an actual world champ.
Everything you dream of and like saying, Oh, I got to get up in train.
I gotta I gotta be a world champ.
I got trying to be a world champ.
And yesterday waking up, I was like, Man, what world champ? That's crazy, Juan.
Everybody talks about the actual moment of winning the belt.
Let's talk a little bit about the road there.
I'm sure there were ups and downs you couldn't believe he talked about.
What was the toughest moments on this? A little man.
The training, you know, getting your ass kicked by people like T J Dillashaw Cups wants and Brian Ortega, Felipe Del Monica and some of your other training partners that are up and comers.
It's like, man, how my I'm still like losing certain situations with these guys And, uh, you know, and I'm not saying it was every day, just like some days throughout the camp.
You're like getting beat up and you're just like, man, like I'm not gonna be a world champion.
There's no way if I'm losing these positions, then now, like, how am I supposed to translate this in the fight? And, uh but, you know, then some days you have your best dates, you get, you get the better of the sparring and you know, you're the one doing the ass whooping and you're just like hell, yeah, like I feel great.
And then just the highs and lows of that, Or, like, you know, staying discipline like my wife's birthday, my kid's birthday, our anniversary.
You know, we can't celebrate it because the cut to 1 25 is so strict, and there's a lot of responsibility to make sure you're doing the right things that you don't cheat on your diet.
You don't cheat on the training because this is life changing opportunity.
That's gonna happen.
And, you know, people don't see that they just see you go in there and fight for a world title.
And they're like, Oh, he's lucky he got the promotion, gave him a world title fight like that's a lot like, Oh, he went in there look good or oh, he has to be on something.
He looks way too good.
It's like no discipline, uh, staying home And you wanna be with your family and support our and celebrate Big holidays are special moments in our lives and, you know, waking up at the six o'clock in the morning, going You see all these sacrifices you look back on and you know, and then you get stuff thrown in your face after the fight like, Oh, you must have cheated.
You have to be on steroids.
You have to do this like walking down my shoes, buddy, Like you know, if you're gonna help me out and say stuff like that, like walking in my shoes Come, come train with me for a week.
I would love to have you share with me for a week and see if you keep up, you know? And then and then you tell me, uh, if I'm on a Are you telling me if it's worth the sacrifice? So you tell me if I'm lucky or God gifted, you know, I have to work for my ****.
So, you know, that's the hardest part about it.
It's working through adversity and dealing with that.
And, you know, just having faith in your team and and staying on course who were the maniacs That our appeasing your looks with media.
Who are the nuts that are keeping you making all the evacuations and coming for you like that? I'm sorry to say that one more time.
Who are all these people that are accusing you? Just a casual fans, you know? You see, my inbox is and people right, people, right. You on.
I mean, you read it right, and you just respond happily like Okay, whatever.
Guy like, they're just casual fans that, you know, they see something, and then they just automatically make accusations.
They see, you know, things like that.
And they're just like, Oh, there's no way your body could potentially reach that ability.
And you're just like all right, whatever.
Dio uh that's crazy, man.
Well, I'll tell you what, you did something that I thought was pretty cool.
And I like that you're already thinking or what you wanna do about defending is a big deal.
But you want to call that were Gucci and even won the horizon.
Can you elaborate a little bit on that about fighting with him? Okay.
Jamming, um, going forward.
Uh, what's in state is gonna be for Gucci was gonna be ready.
Uh, you know, which I don't think he's going to be, e I mean, he relinquished his belt.
I mean, it's his his belt to begin with that we fought for.
But I think next in line, if he's not raised going to Sergio Pettis, and you know that's gonna come up quick.
And so, you know, I mean me, I'm already drunk back into training and things like that as well.
It's just like walking like helping, you know, showing up to one practices to help out Brian are taking for his upcoming by.
But, you know, it was just like going forward.
You get you get big opportunity fights now they're gonna make you a household name.
People like pets or duty myself.
You know, people fighting me now my household name like people want to tune in to watch me fight.
And that's that's a lot of love and responsibility.
Do you remember in the movie Rockies when he's in Marine and he's looking up at this picture upon hangs on the feeling that's one thing that's gonna happen with you.
They don't put up them very cool banners with the champions.
Now you're gonna be up there.
Are you gonna take time? That's kind of a bad high schools are gonna be Yeah, I think after my fights after after I do, you know, after I defend my belt, I'll be able to look up and take that in.
Um, right now way, continue to train like I don't have it like way put it away and and, uh, you know, train.
Like I never had a trade like, because my next my next fight is a world title fight.
Um, I'm no longer fighting a regular three round fight.
Every we fight from here on out, I'm chasing the title.
I'm chasing a performance and, you know, fighting these guys, they're gonna come with the best, you know, Um but so am I.
I'm gonna be ready.
And then afterwards, after I defend my belt, I'll be able to look up and see my face up there on the banner and take it all in.
What did the team tell you when you saw him on Monday? Uh, not everybody was with you in Connecticut.
But between them and all the text messages controller fighters goes I like, Yeah, it's crazy.
Um, you you get to your phone and you have over 1000 200 text messages.
Yeah, over 1000 messages on your instagram.
Uh, you know, just people that supported you from the beginning.
People that continue to support you, uh, longtime friends, um, getting back to them.
So, uh, you know a job in this help that I'm realizing.
So, you know, But I'm making sure I'm holding responsibility toe, get back to people.
You know, some people haven't got back to, and I apologize, but, you know, we're, uh, fully chopping away at it and, uh, you know, turn narrow down all these people that have been writing me.
So yeah, it And it shows a lot of love and appreciation that they have for me.
And it shows why I do it while I continue to do it while I got to take my medicine, we do our staff pick on Mm, a junkie or we have to pick the winner of every pipe.
E thought Patrick was gonna have a family.
Humbly proving wrong.
Man, You're a beef.
Um, but yeah, it's tough, man.
Great fighters talking about Amy on you Put his best.
You know, he had some interesting back takes and I thought that's where he was dangerous.
But you were the better man, man.
I e gotta take that medicine.
Yeah, I mean, thank you did a lot of people, you know, and it's and it's and it's rightfully eso because that's why I wanted a fight. Patchy.
He was on high momentum.
Everyone that I fight is always on high momentum.
When I fought in the house, he was just not Gallagher.
I called him out when I thought pitbull hey was on high momentum.
I called him out first round of the tournament because I wanna be people at their best.
And thank Apache.
Uh, I called him out because I knew he was on the high, and he had full confidence.
Uh, people were gonna probably quickly as the underdog.
And that's the type of challenges that I was looking forward to like.
This guy's gonna come out tough.
I know that, um, he's gonna come out, he's gonna be putting me in his best position.
But I want to show people that I could fight.
I can fight through there e could find out of his bed position.
And, uh and and I did.
And then I was gonna ****.
And once I knew I was gonna be him at his own game, he was gonna crumble and collapse and not be ableto keep up with me.
And I was able to show that that that night.
And that's the thing is, um, that championship caliber mentality.
You know, when you fought in that in that grand Prix and came up short against pitbull, um I wondered if that could carry carry over.
You you had already overcame it, but I'm talking about in the final fight you did and was very, very purpose.
Who is he going to? The great opponent on? I'm sure that probably felt good as well from your side.
You know, uh, being proving to yourself that you are a world champion, you know, improving into the world.
I mean, it was by far I knew E should have won that fight with people in my own state of mind, right? I lost it, but I needed redemption.
And so if I Henry got got things back confidence in me knowing I could still win fights and I was like, OK, I thought the same.
A similar type of guy heavy power puncher and I appointed them.
I know if I really realized that in the pimple fight, I gotta help someone e fortified.
But so with Henry, when I hit him as hard as I could, uh, I knew he was gonna get put away, so I was like, Okay, time to California.
Um, it was gonna be the same thing now I took that Translated that into the pacifier, saying Okay, I gotta try to look for the finish and outpouring them and still win the rounds.
And, uh, you know, in my mind, I was gonna I was down to oh, going into the third, and I was like, Okay, I'm down to Oh, now there's no more room for error.
Like, uh, now I have to fight, you know, tooth and nail on this and and not give up any position from this point on toe, win this win this fight.
And, uh, you know, one referee actually gave me the second round.
The other two gave it 3 to 2.
And so I was like, Okay, that makes sense.
You know, Did you feel like because you had taken his best that there was a tide that was turning or that maybe that was you know, I don't want to say he broke, but did you notice that moment, Um, that you were talking about right now at some point in the fight? Yeah.
I mean, I know after the first, I kind of felt a little bit go from him.
Uh, there was a little bit of him, like saying dammit, like I needed to finish that round.
And then the second round I started catching them to start defending a little more, and I over swung on a on a punch that he got my back.
I was like, Okay, like, just keep working, continue to get my way out of here, and then, uh and so I did.
And then, um And then once I reverse them and got on top, uh, that's when I felt the fight breaking them.
I was like, Oh, man, like I was trying to finish him.
But the referee was like, watch the punch in the back of the head.
And so it kind of took me out of my trans when I wasn't hitting the back of the head.
But he was just saying, like, be weary And it kind of psychologically message with you because you're in the zone and you're you're picking your shots and making sure you're not hitting the back of the head.
And when he says that, it kind of, uh, kind of studies you and you're like, Wait, what the ****? Um, I hit in the back of the head and then they're like, No, no, no, no. You're doing fine.
Just keep going.
It's like, Well, did.
You just took me out of my mind, state, like, Okay, I'll keep going, and then you keep going and you're like, Oh, man, like And then, uh, but that's when I felt the fight, uh, leaving a, um And then, uh And so then I continue thio, uh, in the third round, Have full on confidence.
Um, that I was gonna have this fight.
Now it was there.
There was no, there was nothing he was gonna be able to do that was gonna hurt me or submit me at that point on when you mentioned the guy like Sergio.
Do you feel like you brings anything with the table? If you haven't already seen in your career? I'm sorry.
Say that one more time you mentioned Sergio.
Paris does be a guy that brings something to the game that you haven't seen yet in your career.
When he feel plan anything like that, Um, yeah, you know, he's he's a gamer.
He's been in there with the best, the best 1 25 years in the world.
Um and you know, that's what he's gonna bring. He's gonna bring experience.
He's gonna bring talent, and, you know, I see me beating them.
Don't get me wrong.
I think it's a great matchup for myself.
Uh, but it's gonna be a hell of a fight.
Is one of the fights that I wanted it to have for the vacant title anyway.
But, you know, like I said, Bella, Tory myself thought that, uh, patchy had a little better momentum in the organization.
And so, uh, that was the contender.
And so now I'm gonna be able to prove to myself into Bela Tor that, um you know, I'm the best and I'm gonna go out there and the 1 35 division and and prove that that night.
One more question.
Thank you again for the time you've given us today pointed ask you to the plate All of your who makes it had that have either fought for titles or have been world champions or fought champions along the way.
What would some of the advice that they gave you that responded with you as you went into this title fight a couple wants in T.
I just believe you believe you're world champion.
You know works harder than you, everyone that that that's been around.
You knows that you're the hardest working guy out here.
There's no one that that, uh, that deserves it more than you just go out there and believe that night.
Just go out there and stay ahead of them.
Um, you know, and they all had a piece of the pie.
That's why I loved having them in my corner.
They give me full confidence going into that fight, knowing that no one was gonna stop me that night, no matter who was in front of me.
Thank you so much for hanging out with us today.
Uh, career that you have, man 25.
And that's pretty amazing one.
Here comes from copper fight, because now it's a little defensive.
You said 25 minutes.
Five around on now everyone's coming.
Are you know what I mean? I can't wait.
Start covering milk bikes on bond again.
Congratulations on your world title.
Thank you, guys.
I appreciate you guys having me on and I appreciated methods for believing in me and, uh, you know, looking forward to the future.
Alright. Have a nice day. Take care to e o.
There you have it.
He's a really nice guy, man.
I've heard a lot of things.
The bottom from the guys.
Well, that Hey is one of the hard workers.
And with that group that we were talking about, I mean, get a little bit of everything.
There's some tough hombres there, man.
Wrestler strikers, jujitsu.
I mean, you're seeing everything on a daily basis.
You imagine sitting there striking with Cub Swanson and his boxing, then moving over to T.
J Dillashaw his wrestling and his striking.
And then you got to deal with Brian Ortega on the ground like you're coming into a fight prepared in that camp.
Yeah, I didn't know that.
We're thinking I joined that camp because that's a perfect guy to train, uh, back take defense.
At least that part, you know what I mean? I mean or take a high level, so we'll see.
I mean, look, they got Horiguchi is the former champ.
He had to vacate because he got hurt.
That was about six months ago.
So Juan says he's heard that he's not ready yet, But let's just say at some point he is.
I think Caldwell will return toe bantamweight after he's done with the Federal Grand Prix.
Um, Dante's is the former champ and former champs will always be talked about, even though he's had some lots of since then.
It's still a name that you recognize because he's warned about defendant about, Um, I don't think I would go so far as to say, uh, still see Joe one thing up there, but I think he may have retired already.
Um, there's Sergio Perez, great signing by belt or because now they have a right to make that keeps that division, you know, going a little bit.
Um, in the meantime, I hope that dude take some time to enjoy this win.
You know, when you win the belt, man, even if it's just a week, enjoy it.
It's great that he's going back in there and doing his recovery, and he's gonna help us over the other guys.
But I still think there's gonna be some time where he can break away and enjoy, like Ortega spikes.
Not still for a few more weeks about thinking so, but I do think it's important for any fighter, even if it's a world title fight or not, the media that you do immediately afterwards is really, really important.
So, um, regardless that this is because he's the champion or not, I would always recommend that any young and I think that's listening, Um, you just gotta do it and your family has to understand, even if it's just Donald, I wouldn't say the whole week.
But if you can crank out Monday Tuesday and you know by Wednesday, it's family time, man for ah week, a week and a half or two been great, but that's just part of the job.
But that really, really catapult you? I was taking a look when where he must at all need Ben aspirin.
Um, I don't know why, but I looked at his instagram, and I remember writing it down and somewhere in my laptop.
But it was about 500,000 followers he had, and I don't think that this kid's gonna blow up because they just kept showing that replay over and over.
Now, of course, since then he's also had the B M f hey walked out with Roberto Duran.
He, um, got the rock to put the belt on him and he thought, the popular maybe A, you know, But now he's a to 2.
4 million on He's on Dan LeBa**** show a lot because their Miami base, the Miami based show and they become friends.
And he's a He's a Cuban as well, so good on Jorge Mas at all.
But, you know, like I say, it's all about the right timing.
And if you can have something that's spectacular as what he did against an aspirin man, Alright, again, great booking by goes, I was one Archuletta the new bantamweight champion over a belt.
Or so, yeah, like ghost that they'll hang his face, his banner they belt or does that at every show.
I think it's pretty cool.
They only have five.
Last time I watched the belt or and that's because they have a Lima Lay McFarland, the flyweight champion for women and then the featherweight champion.
Which Cris Cyborg? They don't have a strongly or a been with division.
That's it there.
And then they don't have a men's flyweight division.
The bantamweight title with Bacon, the featherweight and lightweight champs, the same guy.
So that's three Ladies and pitbull, the welterweight champ is Lima.
There's a bacon middleweight champion because LIBRATO Jr also he looked a belt.
And then there's Bay there.
He owns two belts.
I was like, What the hell is that? There are only five champions up there.
I used to go to Temecula and see, like, seven or eight of them hanging up there, you know? And I thought about it.
Wait, they got to Bacon titles and two champions, so it makes sense.
But I was thinking that someone forget.
I remember looking around going, What's going on here? It's weird because we're also Laker fans, so we're used to looking up and seeing tons of banners so walking and only see, like five 17 maybe going on 18.
We got the Nuggets shout out to the Nuggets.
The Nuggets came down from being from being down 3 to 1 on.
Now they face the Lakers.
Speaking of 31 we played on four times this year, we won three day one.
Once I feel pretty good.
I can't believe E can't believe the Clippers choke that lead.
Um, Vegas Golden Knights.
It'll have to be another year for them.
Dallas stars eliminated them.
So yeah, we've been watching the other sports and Manu goes this weekend, it'll be their first game of the year.
So as you can tell, we love all sports, but I wanna go back to M. M.
This is a subject that's a little sensitive because not too many people want to talk about it because it involved sensitive material.
Economy Gregor Waas arrested for allegedly ***ually assaulting a female and also indecent thing, I guess being nude, You know, uh, they were in the Mediterranean somewhere, and all this went down last week.
Now, McGregor has already put out a statement, of course, denying everything.
And when Dana I was asked about it, he said, Look, I know what you know, and that's just the early reports.
There is a mug shot.
There wasn't arrest.
Um, but is everything else true? I mean, I guess look, indecency when it if the dude was indecent.
Uh, I mean, I don't know, as long as you're not exposing yourself to minors, which I doubt he would do.
But if you're just on a nude beach or you're just acting a fool, whatever, it's the other parts of ***ual allegation part that he vehemently denies that Dana didn't want to comment on and I get it because they're just allegations.
Well, one thing I'll say is, How does this just how does this keep happening? Let's just say that on every single incident it was consensual, which now that just present well, doesn't have a partner, whatever.
That's his business.
But how is he always in a position that, um, that this is happening, that these allegations are happening like E means? As far as I know, he's got two kids.
He's seems to always have his partner with him.
E guess Now it's a fiance, D um, and I know these super rich and super famous, But look, man, there's also been some videos out there that people have posted.
You know, the one I saw.
It was just some young lady, you know, saying Hey, look laying next to me and certainly didn't look like a ***ual.
It's all taking place there, but I'm just saying, like he needs to get it together goes, and just with that lifestyle and just if he's retired, enjoy his family.
But he can't be on yachts and mixing up the blues or anything else because I you know, he gets in trouble.
I think he's shown that he can't do that on his own.
Eso I think the only remedy is toe have somebody that's with them all the time, keeping them out of trouble.
We've seen that a lot in the boxing world.
E don't know that someone could do that.
I don't know, but I mean, he he's had every single chance in the world.
Like a lot of these things, I'd probably be locked up.
I know this is silly, but remember Titanic.
Remember the rich dude? How count? Remember that old man that kind of always watched over him, knew everything? Yeah, He was like It's fixed it right.
Lovejoy looked like he could kick count us.
No one can kick Connors.
I'm I suppose you could get some heavyweight wrestler that couldn't restrain him.
But what I mean is Connor is gonna pretty much no one's gonna be able to stop him.
Listen, I don't think a whole security team that's willing to risk their jobs and he says, you know, I'm gonna fire you if you don't let me do what you know I don't know.
I I think he just I don't know what. But there's ways.
Like, in other words, how does this always happen? Is my point like what happens with Floyd Mayweather? Right? When it goes out, there's a bunch of people there.
Maybe it's not a guy that has to go up deployed and go, Hey, all right, now put the brakes.
You gotta stop what you're doing.
But it could be if there's a group of girls or something coming up and they want to go ahead anyway there already stopping them before they even get to him, That sort of thing.
You know, somebody that's just looking out for trouble.
Hey, there's a guy over there with the cell phone is taking pictures before Connor skis that I need to go over there and stop that things like that.
I think you need one of those people in his life because he has shown that if you leave it up to him, trouble is gonna find it the way to him.
Read about anyone and Angelina Jolie, the only yacht, and they used to go out in that same area.
I think they had a house in France.
I didn't hear a breath getting arrested.
I'm sure a lot of chicks throw themselves at him.
He was family guy.
You know what I mean? Angelina and the family I didn't hear about these different types of arrest or allegations or anything like that.
But he's also been in the limelight for years, right? Yeah, this is all.
I mean, you go back, what? Seven years ago, when I was still a plumber, right? This is all kind of new to him and and the ridiculous amount of cash.
There's only three years old, right? So I'm not making excuses for the guy, but I he's just showing that he can't handle the situation himself.
So somebody has to step at this point.
He's gonna ruin his career.
Is gonna you know he's not gonna Yeah, he's going to ruin his life is what it comes down.
Yeah, The career is at a point where he's just not a champion anymore.
Hey was clearly beaten, you know, by a be at the top level.
He came back and maybe Donald Caroni, he composite man cars Talented bro.
If Conor order if Justin were to be her bead.
There's this pathway for Connor to get a title shot that no one else has.
Look, a boy struggling the get them to meet his demands, Connor and staff his fingers and pretty much being a tunnel.
So if Khabibulin's or sorry gauge wins, I still think Thio to get the heavy.
You may have to take one more, but you never know, man.
They're gonna love money.
And Connor makes money, makes him money.
So it could be that it will be wins or be might.
Might just do it, I don't know, but he doesn't appear to me be somebody who's gonna fight for the next 10 years.
So I think we've got, like, three bites left.
Maybe one of them will be Connor McGregor part, too.
But what I don't want to see is McGregor fighting Habib off of, like, 18 month layoff or two year layoff.
It's gonna be pretty soon, because the cowboy fight was in January.
You know, Archuletta came in right as we were talking about that the whole situation.
I think it's wrong.
I think Dana White just shouldn't say that about his fighters.
You gotta protect your fighters there.
Especially a guy like that.
Yeah, but the question is all right, Right now, there's no fight.
So, what do you do? What do you do with Ferguson? Do you think it's gonna happen with for you? Do you think they're gonna bring somebody else in? There's a couple of names you could throw out that could possibly feel in that role.
But what do you think ultimately will happen? Yeah, well, Michael Chandler, we haven't discussed him.
Michael Chandler must have met with Dana White.
He must be out of that exclusive period of time.
We're only ballot or could talk to him because Dana said we talked to him.
And usually Dane is good about saying we can't talk to him yet because So it looks like they may have spoken already.
They didn't come to an agreement, but he also didn't say anything towards Chandler like, Well, no, I think Chandler wants to go back to belt or which would probably his way of communicating.
They didn't come to an agreement of some sort monetarily, but he seemed pretty warm to him.
He kept saying nice things.
He said he met him.
So could Chandler fight Tony Ferguson? Look, Ferguson is coming off a loss.
Chandler's coming off a win.
Um, what Ferguson's of study? I mean that that whole winners versus winners and losers versus lose.
You throw that out the window.
When? When you talk about it.
Um, I think Chandler versus Ferguson.
That would appease anybody's appetite.
Yeah, I think it's a great fight.
Who? You have a fight.
It's not for you.
I want to throw out a name.
Danielle Dare use vanilla.
Their uses won five in a row and vanilla.
They're used to fighting like a beast.
I mean, that last Fighting had right.
He was kicking, hard, punching, hard, elbowing hard.
I mean, that dude's coming to Jack somebody up.
He's proven to me that he's an exciting fighter.
He's got great great wins on his record.
Um, I think, look, you know, because if Boy can't be signed, engaging in will be very busy and Connors retired.
Well, who else would Ferguson be looking at? I mean, he hasn't thought out like Quinta Ally Quintas and thought since last October.
He's closing in on a year now, and he lost that right but photon.
So I suppose there is that option.
You know that there comes a point where I think the fighters don't care so much about the wins and losses.
They just want another big name.
So what's bigger? I went to coming off a loss or dairy use on a 55 wins street.
I would argue that that I quinces more popular, but not by much.
But I still think you just gotta look, you gotta look behind you.
The guys in front of you don't wanna fight you or can't fight you and you every once in a while. This happens now.
I would also take Charles Oliveira.
You gotta throw him up there.
He was supposed to fight Darius, but he got injured cameras, college or injured.
And so that fights not happening on October 24th.
That's why I keep telling you are usually out there.
Um, you still got behavior market, Chef, But I don't think Tony would take those matchups because that's looking back.
But I don't know that they've established themselves as big names just yet.
Even Gregory Gillespie.
He's like, 12 and one.
He hasn't fought since Kevin Lee iced.
Um you know, um, but he was like, get 15 or six in a row. India feet.
But I don't know, Tony would look back that far back to somebody.
E think Alderson strike me as, like, Covad 19 era fighter, you know, taking fights on short notice and all that.
Like you didn't even like to do that back when everything was normal.
So I think that's a do that might be sitting on the shelf for a while.
The Neil there is Seems like the type of opponent you would bring in if you signed Michael Chandler and gave him his first fight.
That seems like the type of guy you would give him in the first fight.
Um, there's no way around it.
Like if you signed Michael Chandler.
Obviously, you want him to fight for the belt eventually, but there's no way of giving him favorable matchups in the 1 55 position.
They're all killers go all the way down to the number 15 guy.
There's just no way around it.
If Chandler signs that the UFC he's gonna have a tough road as faras poise concerned.
I mentioned this on spending back click he has, I think the ability to just wait till October 24th and see what's out there.
It will be wins, then The gamble doesn't pay off for Ploy because he just spot could be so it wouldn't make sure makes sense the book them, even though he'd be Dan Hooker.
I don't think Herbie would wanna fight for yea so quickly.
But if G wins oy a beat G, he might have some leverage.
So at this point, if he's not going to come to an agreement with the U. S. C.
And Tony goes out there and fight someone else, he may be risking the fact that Tony versus fill in the blank, whether it's janitor there, you should someone else.
Maybe one of those has a great fight, and they position themselves in a bowl contender.
You always have to fear that control come back to Planet Earth and he's always a contender.
But I think you might be able to play that card if G wins now.
I don't know if G is one of those guys because I want to avenge every loss.
He's only got two losses.
Alvarez is that one championship, so that was not gonna happen when it comes to.
But what else? He may want to do this.
Maybe it's an epic fight and I'll be.
But in an instant rematch, maybe Dana White just does.
No, it's controversies gauging out. I don't know.
That's how exciting that division is, and that's why I think I don't know how much.
I don't know how far they are apart, but I think I'm hoping for the ages.
Comes to an agreement with the O. C.
Fights Tony Ferguson, and then he let his actions speak.
If you could be Tony Ferguson.
Best case scenario.
Everybody wants to see that fight.
And again, it's ridiculous to think that guy does not want that right.
How do you get into the cage with Gabby and then after that, be afraid of somebody else? Get out of here with that.
We haven't spoken to Papa in about a year, and we spoke to him about three months ago and it was good to catch up a little bit.
But I remember just asking them how you feeling, man, you had the wars and he said, Man, he said, I've built some blood.
I've taken some damage.
That's why I'm adamant about getting paid and being a prizefighter, acting like a prize fighter, you know, because I know that I'm not gonna be the same when my career is over.
Um, so I commend him.
I commend him for trying to get a much as he can.
Now look, let's just play fantasy fantasy.
Let's just play the fantasy world.
I don't even know what they call it.
If Moya usually makes, will think, When's the last time we checked the salaries? A lot of the commission's air releasing the Sounders anymore.
But let's say, Boy was in the 250 range.
I think that's along with E think 200.
Yeah, if he's asking for 500 e.
No, it's a lot, but and I feel like his body of work since the w E.
F. C. I give him that.
And yes, I realize that they don't have a gate.
I mean, it probably costs each each fighter to come to Vegas and then flying that jet and protect them and everything they're gonna do.
I bet you all that each fighter is probably like $50,000.
All the testing, you know, the flight.
Just getting them.
They're like, dost is paying a lot of money.
So I don't know if that I don't know if Dana White told him.
Look, I give you the 500 grand, normally out of respect, but right now we're in a pandemic.
You need to take less.
Maybe I'm team you asleep.
If it doesn't matter and they're getting a ton of money from ESPN somehow then you got to give away the money.
But if boys trying to go from 2 52 a million and that might be the jump or the U.
Is going dog like, you know, we think you're awesome, but we'll give you a bump.
And to be that much, I don't know.
Here's the harsh reality.
If that is a ridiculous number or whatever and the U.
C it, what are you gonna do if you're just important? Because the only thing you can threaten is to not fight.
And if you don't fight, you're not gonna make money.
And if you're the UFC and you say okay, no dust employees.
Well, guess what.
This division is stacked.
And here's Michael Chandler.
And after a while you're gonna forget about this employee because you just got another beast in their fighters of leverage.
Shucks zero, but not much.
But that's how they look at it as a correct correct.
And Chandler, I think the last time I checked he's about 200,000.
A white guy with no win bonus.
This is what I get paid to show.
Maybe you got bonus.
The dog tore, but if he came in to dance and I want a million a fight, but I don't know if they know Pam, we said Kimi 2 55 and then the middle of May I I don't know, man.
That's a that's a lot, you know, because, like Goto, Dana just doesn't have Thio now.
It doesn't mean I don't think Hoya and Chandler aren't worth that.
They are but one on one.
I think Dana and maneuver can always go.
I'm not gonna work.
Hey, could do it.
The Tony You could do it to any of them because the U.
S. T is gonna make money one way or another.
And ust is guaranteed.
We don't know the names yet.
What superstars are being made? We just don't know who they are and they come out of nowhere.
Um, so that's why Dana can roll the dice because he's got 20 years.
He used to worry about it.
He used to go in back in, like from 4005 that block of time.
He used to go in and say, Look, here's our eight fights.
We need him to win because we need him to fight him.
We need him that when we need him to lose her when No, there was no hurt.
Basically, he needed the fights toe hopefully go in a certain way.
And if they didn't get stung, man, because rebuilding fighters it was a mess.
Now Dana White He finally got to the point, I think, from 2005 to 2010 where you stop worrying about it because he realized the process of having fights just turned new stars when you least expected it.
And so you know, it just worked out.
He created more divisions, more stars were born, he had the reality show, and that was that.
So I don't think he doesn't sweat it as much.
You would love to have you, but he's also not just going to write and the zeros on a check just have you.
Now, this is where I'm going to sound repetitive.
If Chandler, Post Ferguson, Connor McGregor and all of them were collectively the bargain with the U. S.
Then the US, we would have listened.
Alright, if all the fighters said we're not gonna fight until you get a A 50 $50,000 bonus on every card, Um, a second corner man.
Are you? Give us money for me and to corner because it's usually you in one corner and everything else comes out with his pocket.
But the fighters were to collectively bargain and say We want 5 $50,000 bonuses.
We want a second corner, man to get paid.
We want to start making a little bit towards the retirement.
Blah, blah, blah.
You come up with 10 demands, the USC says we'll give you three, you say, Well, I'll tell you what.
Eight, they say, How about five and then, boom, you meet up six.
That's how you make progress collectively, but the U S C one on one could go May.
Now, we didn't see it that way.
We'll freeze your contract.
We're gonna have 12 fights on Saturday and not losing ankle sleep.
So I don't know.
I really want to see Point versus Ferguson.
I wouldn't mind seeing Chandler versus Ferguson.
I want to see Chandler in the U. S. C.
I want to see Connor come back.
I want to see Connor in Jim's working out and making the most of his life until he's 35 then retire in the countryside.
Man, get a farm or something.
Enjoy your family.
And you know what I mean.
You just travel with your whiskey and do that.
Stop with the ****ing yachts and the clubbing and the party or whatever you can't handle.
The kid is what was all I can say.
Um and what? Yeah, that's that's it.
I do want to see Cejudo versus Alkhanov ski, but only if they could make it quick.
Because we can't keep all the mothers zombie Ortega, and we can't keep them waiting.
They deserve their shops.
Um, and Holloway could fight Cater.
I just don't think it's gonna happen.
But I don't want to see the ultimate fighter, by the way, Uh, Broken also said he hasn't even been approached with, you know, and the only way it makes sense.
This is happening right now.
So it's a judo coming in there.
Maybe two million, because numbers.
So who does? Not a champion.
He doesn't get paid for because he could negotiate them.
But technically, he's not supposed to get paper Content is not a champion, but he negotiates.
He's always paper begun, since the judo has to come in there and it is reasonable in the U. S. Is reasonable.
I wouldn't mind it.
He already let go 25 35.
So it's like he's holding up those divisions.
He's going into history.
That's why I'd be open to it.
But only what happened right now, because I don't want to see how the way we're spoken out before me did we cover all the news.
