This is five or 9 p.
m. Eastern time.

If you guys have questions after this is over, you don't get the chance to ask me.
Um, I have my ah, I'm a SportsCastr profile.
You could go on my Twitter and you send me a message.
So, um and I got a new update.
Um, on Thursday, I'm going to decide to switch my show.
My show name? It's gonna be called.
Um, it's gonna be called.
Sorry about this.
There's a night sports madness.
Um, I decided to switch because we're now, you know, I had return to sports and those I have that name right before I decide how that you know that name, right? As sports for trying to make their returns.
But majority of the sports are now in progress, so I'm going to side to side to switch the name.
I'll make sure to have it posted on my Sparkasse profile before Thursday night, but I hope you all get Thio join me Thursday and was Get through all the latest of what's going on the NFL as Week one has approached and I got into this past game with the Patriots, uh, her weight against the Dolphins got into some highlights obviously get into how the debuts of former Patriots it obviously, with T v 12 Tom Brady having his debut, we'll get into along with that.
So, uh, with that being said, uh, you know, we'll get it to a lot of stuff today and I'll get into kind of my report card for some players that I thought that, well, some players that were a little shaky, you know, with no pre season, which obviously is understandable for a lot of the guys.
But But that means let's get let's get started.
And, um, you know, kind of just getting first of all my overall thoughts from the weekend in the NFL.
Um, they said that I'm just gonna quickly actually move myself over to any other room.
So bear with me quickly.
Uh, so people servant there? Um e you know, I think a lot of people are actually see how the first week would go with, obviously with no pre season on, you know, with obviously with testing and they get you really get the product on the the product out there for the sport of football.
And, you know, Adam Schefter.
Ian Rapoport had tweets.
Uh, they had a lot of testing going on on Saturday night leading up to games on Sunday.
They had no positive cases.
Well, obviously what they said.
But, you know, they're always, always could be false positives.
But for for the most part, you know, I think I think overall the game's air pretty good.
The games from all pretty entertaining.
Um, and I will make sure to say the scores from Week one on Thursday for Return of Sports and then obviously, preview.
We two, um, which Thursday night starts with the Battle of Ohio with Joe Burrow on the Bangles, going to take on the Cleveland Browns so we'll get into a little bit on Thursday.
So But I'm gonna get into the Patriots, and there's a couple things I'm gonna go into how Cam Newton did.
How is this debut? How the Patriots acclimated to a new quarterback after 20 years of dominance in two decades with Tom Brady? We wanted to know how the change would be.
And, uh, also, there's been rumblings and reports about two receivers that the Patriots potentially might be linked to, and one guy that is frustrated with this contract.
So we will get into everything today.
I guess you could say so.
Week one The Patriots played obviously weak one on Sunday, and I think a lot of people into to see how the game of go it was obviously a divisional opponent.
The Dolphins started with Ryan Fitzpatrick, aka Fits Magic.
As you could say last year, um, as he was able to upset the Patriots from going to a bye week, which a lot of Patriot fans were expecting, actually, really including myself, that they would get that by we can win that last game.
But you know, Fitz Fitzpatrick played really well last last year against the Patriots, um, at Gillette Stadium.
I thought the defense really struggled, uh, for this game.
Obviously, there's no fans There's gonna be no fans for the first for the home games at Gillette Stadium for well, there was none this past Sunday.
And then when the Patriots play after the after this week in Seattle, they got no fans.
And that's the Vegas Las Vegas trainers Week three.
So but I wanted to recap how the game really went and I'll get into Ah, highlight, Um, highlight, then here on YouTube.
So I'll show you guys some of the key plays and kind of how things went.
Um, you know, besides me talking a lot about how the game went, um, but kind of going to keep key things, uh, the Patriots 29 1st down to compare to the 20 from the Dolphins, the third down efficiency.
I thought the Patriots really convert a lot on the third downs.
The Patriots in this game wanted to know how offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was able to do with Cam Newton in a new system, obviously for can and the ways that they were able to, um, work together.
And I thought that early on the game, the Patriots did a really good job of trying to execute the running game with the quarterback Now.
I think a lot of people were not expecting for came to run like crazy because he had so many carries.
But with that being said, I think they're really going to game planning.
Adjusted to week by week.
All of how these opponents are playing against camp.
Um, the Russian yards, UH, it was completely dominated for the Patriots, 217 to 87 according to the Dolphins, the time of possession that the Patriots were able to take time off the clock.
They had 30 34 minutes and 49 seconds, compared to Dolphins of 25 into 11.
I think this year the Patriots are going to rely on controlling the clock when having the lead.
I think that's a very key point and making sure that if they can execute it running game, that also opens up the play action just like Brady did when Brady was able to get the running game going.
Obviously, Brady was a threat with his legs by any means, but with that being said, if they could get a running game and even have a running mobile quarter like they do now, with Cam Newton and I.
I think they could do a lot of different types of fun plays with this offense.
Yes, it might be a little bit ugly at times, and I'll get into a little bit of what I thought that the pages need to struggle with.
That was kind of expected.
Come in, and that was the receiving corps outside of couple of guys.
But what kind of quickly recap? There was obviously no points in the first quarter.
Then the first, uh, with 13 minutes and 12 seconds, Cam Newton and Russia, a four year touchdown run.
It was bounced to the right from on the play.
And, you know, easy, easy.
Uh, easy touchdown, Ron.
The Dolphins to make a field goal, made it 73.
The Patriots had two interceptions in the first half.
I thought the defense was also a big question.
Yes, I think the Patriots defense has the edge for this season over for sure, but there's gonna be a lot of question marks because you lost a couple of key guys to the free agency and to opt outs.
You lost Jamie Collins.
You lost Danny Shelton.
You lost Duron Harmon.
You lost two million guys that have opt outs and Patrick John and Dont'a Hightower.
But you saw what a lot of the younger guys were able to do and produce.
And I think that's what they're gonna have to rely on.
You saw guys being able to clog the middle in the running game and a guy like chasing individual.
I think that an excellent game, a really good showing so far.
UH, newcomer Adrian Phillips, who had who came over from three Chargers.
He even had limited time in camp, But he was able to get in and he made interception that the Patriots were hopefully hoping to able to convert into at least the field goal.
And they missed the field goal in Nick Folk towards the end of the first half.
But, um, you know, the Patriots really controlled a lot of the game.
They the first drive in the third quarter was excellent, can hit a couple times to Julian Edelman.
He really opened up the passing game a little bit more.
He got it to kill Harry and then new and decided to do a bootleg after motion.
Uh, from one side from Rex Burkhead.
He rolled out to the right.
He dove right around the pile on for a second touchdown run of the game, Folks, the team made a fortune to three.
Then things got a little bit, I guess you could say on the nerve rocking side, um, the next drive after the Dolphins, I believe 13 and out.
The Patriots drove down the field like they did on the previous drive with the new one.
Touch down, around and right around the 5 to 10 yard marker right around the goal on, the Patriots were about to punch it and make it a 21 23 type game.
But instead, the cable Harry received from the Patriots caught the ball.
He fumbled it right before he got into the end zone to make it a 21 23 game.
It turned out to be a touchback, the Dolphins of the ball, and it turned out to be a killer.
In that time, I think a lot of people, a lot of Patriot fans, including myself, really thought Wow, the Patriots really, really dominated a lot of this game and you could really see that.
That the Dolphins score this game is by far within reach.
And that's what happened.
Running back Jordan Howard was able to get a one yard touchdown run, the Dolphins actually one for two, and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was able to roll up and have quarterback keeper to make it a two to convert.
Two point conversion in the pages were only a 14 11 but still 10 minutes and 31 seconds left to go.
So I'm thinking myself and I was like, Wow, I mean that the Patriots were able to pick off Fitzpatrick three times.
I'll get into the third one.
The first two picks were from Stefan Gilmore and Adrian Phillips.
And then, after the Howard and Ryan Fitzpatrick placed into the end zone, making a 14 11 game, the Patriots need a statement drive and they were able to the following Dr Join.
Edelman had a sweep offer off off a bullet.
I think it was off the, you know, he gave its Edelman for like a sweet pass on Gittleman want for the run.
He went about 2025 years.
You could use a little bit slow, but he had open field.
But there's a dolphin player.
I don't remember the guy who was.
He hit him in the in the back and the in the out of bounds marker.
15 yard penalty patrons able to keep driving cam had couple rushes, Uh, keep extending the drive.
There's 1/4 down right around the goal line.
The pages have the option to potentially kick the field goal or decide to, uh, make it even Mawr of points that they're able to convert on the fourth than one can was able to run it.
Michelle was able to punch it in about five minutes and 23 seconds left was 21 11.
Now, you know, you could say, Okay, there's a little bit bit of breathing room.
But the Dolphins said that like their own 10 20 yard line, and they still had a couple timeouts.
So they were rolling down the field and Fitzpatrick, you know, drove down and hit.
You know Devante Parker, who is our main receiver, which I talked about last week coming in.
He was a little bit banged up.
He was on the injury report before the game on Sunday he was able to play.
He made a couple of plays early on Stephon Gilmore, couple of slant patterns and, uh, but overall when he was down and he was able to, uh, sorry about that.
When he wasn't able to play at third quarter, it took one key weapon out of that offense and a guy that Ryan Fitzpatrick trusted in the game last year toward the end of the game.
To have the Dolphins be able to win that score brother score, believe of 27 24 have to self correct myself.
That was the wrong score, but he was a key part, and for him not to be out there really hurt Fitzpatrick, who really struggled for the most part of the day with the turnovers.
And so, you know, Dolphins drove down the field.
They got to the two minute marker, and then a couple of plays later, he threw a pick right in the back of the end zone.
He was trying to do the exact same play with Kosecki from last year, where it was pretty much a seem right around.
Um, you know, with mothers incentives.
Uh, there could have been offensive p I, but he did throw a little bit behind him. J. C.
Jackson, who? I thought it was gonna be a really key player for this Patriots defense.
Coming into the season, he made a key interception, and that basically was the dagger.
It was about a minute to go left, and he made the play.
I don't even have to do is basically Neil it for the most part, and the pages were able to get the win 21 to 11.
It got a little bit scrum me, and we found out the reason that because Cam had had some chain and I guess a couple of guys were trying to pull on it or anything, so I got a little bit scrum me.
But besides the point, you know, they they went their separate ways for the most part, for the post game for the teams.
Most of the time, most of the players were able to shake hands, and that was that final score, 21 11.
I thought overall is a pretty solid when, despite you know that there being no pre season, it's a divisional game.
Miami always seems to play the Patriots stuff, no matter when and what time of the year.
So I really thought it was a really good, you know, coach on.
Obviously, people can't be like, Well, okay, this is This is what we can have for the rest of season because there's going to be This is obviously a really tough schedule, Not not not for me to say that Miami is not a really, really good team, but they're obviously not.
It seemed that, uh, is going to be about you in a lot of ways.
You talk about Seattle Russell Wilson, and I'll get into a preview with the Seahawks, but they just had a win and they wanted to want to know.
And Russell Wilson, by far, is one of my favorite quarterbacks in the sleep, and he has a lot of playmakers around him.
They have a great defense that just got better.
So this is just a good start.
But obviously, come Sunday night, it's going to be a big test.
So let's get into some highlights from the game on Sunday.
Then I'll get into some more of my stuff, uh, that I want to get into so hope you will enjoy the highlights, Um, as the commercials going on after the holiday.
Well meant to some thoughts about with Bill Belichick thought and a couple other guys.
Hey, starts in 20.
Hands it off to Michele, who switched through one tackle.
What we do, you still has it on March is up.
The first down Aim one of the captains, one of the players named Captain for the Dolphins this week, 2nd and 10 play action and then got a **** is dumped back in the 38.
Just busting across was Baker can to get the market of the London.
That's where the Patriots first touched it and the past is complete. Sleep.
32 Tokyo Gaskin for the first time, a loss of three, third and 12 from the 43.
It's Patrick on the way, please.
I think he has a great opportunity in front.
Have to really resurrected for sure. I e.
A bullet all the way down the 43 20.
They had only 37 catches from the tithe.
I'm with no one out there on the edge table run over 10 yards, reporting one time from the Miami 24.
I'm gonna keep it.
Gonna find it with on duty.
Takes it in for the touchdown.
Oh, extending his NFL record with a 59th career rushing touchdown.
It's Patrick lining it up.
Finding Parker again.
It's a secondary that did lose Patrick.
Chunks of opting out and common.
Traded to Detroit.
Heresy interception but last year's defensive player of the year in the NFL.
Gilmore Booth, 37.
Okay, close snap.
And that goes out of bounds.
Yeah, sort of a second clock.
Continue the highlights.
Just want to get a clear picture so you guys can wash it.
Eyes caught looked like Devin McCourty had a first magic, a E second and five, but his first carriers a dolphin that it picks up six in the 1st 1st down thing open on caught 3rd and 10 30 over the head.
A lot of this drive that ball might have been tipped at the line, but it still goes through trying to get fired up.
Right now, he's really excited.
Second to another good piece of running by Gaskin, who's looked impressive in this quarter.
So you're watching empty formation.
You have to put the football back and give viewing one time to do anything.
Watch right there is Parker.
He's gonna look for him.
What a tough play that was.
And it's called a e o back upfield.
Pick up all these people.
They're all down there.
Only one safety deep.
That's where you could take advantage of.
Take a shot for the end zone set, then that 40 yard line.
It's picked off the second pick off the first half.
Now what can they do with two timeouts to work with over white stays in second and one Todo monster like that's a play that do anything here about tithe.
Get yards with Burke had down to about 27 e.
We are going to snap a cake is Wythe.
There's a couple of plays, you know.
You look at a complete set and Jack's been blown away by E takes.
The handoff goes again.
Middle near the 50 and another catch a coming out.
Get a cast place that'll staying up top another reception.
This required for a first down second advice.
Hires in is an extra receiver and trying to reach out.
What a catch hettleman any a another first down picked up guarding Birkhead out the bottom.
She's gonna motion who's coming with you Like it happened.
He's going to run it inside the stand inside the booth Touchdown call on the field for the second time in this game.
You do it. David Andrews.
You sat out all the last year.
You're like, you're never gonna know.
Slowly, it starts to come. 35.
Um, if you guys want to see the rest of it, the highlights just click on the top on right here.
I just got, you know, a couple of quick, uh, place in the first half.
I'll get mawr for next week.
But if you guys like I said, want to see the rest? Because I don't wanna waste too much time in the highlights, but just want to get couple If you guys want to watch the rest of it.
Just going to you Thio, Dolphins, Patriots And, uh, it'll be right there, but great.
Well, good effort to open up a new era of the Patriots.
Eso Let's get into some my three ups.
My three down from the game.
My first up, I'm gonna have to go to chase one a ***** because they need some guys on their defensive front to step up.
And I think he was a great, um you know, player, too, Really? Make that next push into a second year.
My next player was Adrian Phillips because they need some help on that secondary, at least in the safety front.
With no Patrick Sean, you saw Phillips made a couple plays around the field.
He was pretty aggressive.
He made that interception.
So it was a very good impression for him.
And then, obviously, three, You have to go on camera and, ah, guys, going into a new system with the new offensive coordinator, a new team.
And obviously that's a really good impression that he went for the game.
I will quickly go into a couple of the stats now.
What's right? Wanted Thio.
So let's go first.
With the Dolphins trying, Fitzpatrick was 20th 30 for 191 yards, 6.
4 yards at first attempt.
You've sacked once.
You had three interceptions.
They didn't really have much high rushing yards that they used Gaskin and yeah, Brita Howard had 788 attempts, Russian seven yards and a touchdown.
Devante Parker, their main receiver on Lee, had four catches for 47 yards.
Preston Williams, the other main receiver to catch, is for 41 gets secular tight end 33 for 30.
So they really held a lot of these receives in check.
For the most part, the Patriots.
Let's go with Cam.
He was 15 of 19 you know.
8.2 yards per passing attempt.
It was awesome to see 1st, 1st, 1st, first game of the team.
He not only through the block, but he threw it with with a lot of, uh, a lot of zinc.
I don't see a lot of zinc.
A lot of you know, No, just a lot of touch, a lot of good touch and, uh, no good few for the ball.
And and I really thought that he did a great job to open up the season receiving is is something that is going to be a struggle.
Uh, Edelman did a five count for 57 yards, 11.
4 yards a catch.
Harry had five catches for 39 yards, including that fumble lost White James Whitey three catch for 30 yards.
Ryan ISO had one catch of 25.
So obviously the receiving court is going to have to step up.
I knew it was really thin.
Tamir Bird also played.
He didn't play. He didn't do much.
He even made a a fumble when, earlier in the game, when there was a punt early on from the Dolphins were dropped the ball.
I think JC Jackson, maybe him or something, but he dropped the ball.
The pages were able to keep the ball after that, but I was a scary sight because the Patriots, it just seems like they always need somebody to return kicks.
And now, with no gunner Olsavsky, who is pretty much their main, you know person for that, um, he's gonna be out for a couple weeks early on.
You need to mere virtually producing that category category needed okay after that.
But you know, Russia and obviously Cam was was fantastic.
You have 15 Russian yard 15 Russian attempt for 75 yards, two touchdowns, five point yard, 5.
Ah, Rush, Sunni Michelle was 10 10 Russian, 10 Russian attempts for 37 yards and touchdown.
Taylor the say the little guy, he was able to get some Russian times as well.
So, overall, I thought I thought the team pretty well.
Now my downs from the game.
You got to go with the receiving corps cast outside of Adelman and Harry.
You know, Demir Bird.
Uh deben asi asi Dalton Keen was out, but right is that they need to have.
And I know the Patriots wanted to focus more on a Russian attempt and obviously bend on break.
But there's gonna have to come time where obviously opposing defense is air going to have to make adjustments, which that a lot of them will.
You're looking at a really good coach next week and Pete Carroll and nothing taking it from Bryan Flores because I think it's a very excellent coach.
But Pete Carroll has to see this film from Week one for the patients be like can do, and basically it was a lot of their offense.
If we double team medal men, if we double team a guy maybe like carry on the outside, we're gonna make them throw the football and we don't We have the confidence that they don't have in terms of another big time threat that we could say, Okay, if we focus on camp, you know we have a pretty good shot in terms of winning the football game because that would be their game plan.
We'll have to see, though, how that goes.
So I had for my downs I had.
The kicking situation continues to be a problem.
Eso kill Harry and being very a couple other guys nick folk and, uh, I don't know Lawrence guy was kind of quite early on in the game.
Me a couple players, but I didn't see him much.
I guess you could say it was it down.
They didn't really get much pressure despite them winning the game and have them having a couple turnovers.
They're pretty quiet overall in that part.
Knew Derek Rivers, who who's been out for a couple of years with injuries.
He actually had a big time sacked at the end of the game, but they didn't have much in terms of tackles highly and tackle tacular actually was Adrian Phillips, who I made.
It was one of my ups for the game.
He had eight tackles.
He had one pass deflection in one reception, so he would obviously a very good good showing.
But I thought the defensive line could maybe give them a little bit more of a a spark from this past game.
But those are my three up 33 downs, and obviously it's It's gonna be different for each week.
And, uh, looks looking forward to how they dio Sunday night, 8 20.
They're traveling to Seattle.
They're leaving, I believe, on Friday, so there will be ready to go.
Hopefully for Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.
We want to know, and they're really good team.
Just some quick other news that came out from my crease from ESPN Boston.
The Patriots actually did at a quarterback to the practice squad.
Take, uh, dull Gala.
Um, don't really know much about him, but they're obviously adding him for some you know, it's, um, death, and one there's a couple of key surprising actives that were out didn't get the chance to shoot up.
One was Joshua K, who was actually excited to look for from Michigan.
Dalton Keen tightened from Virginia Tech.
He didn't play, He wasn't.
He wasn't also inactive, and Jared stood in the quarterback, who everybody thought was the apparent to Tom Brady.
And listen, he still might be the future.
I still have a lot of confidence and set him, but, you know, for now they're obviously Kim knew and basically have the job, for sure.
And that week one I think Bill thinks about it says, Yeah, I'm sorry to tell you share.
I'm sorry to tell you, Brian, if you guys are great guys, good quarterbacks, good playmakers.
But as long as this guy stays healthy, this is the guy I want the best to win for us in.
That's what he said after the game.
He talked about the offensive shift after Cam impressing the debut.
And there was this.
A couple of key notes.
This was from a website I I saw earlier today when I was, you know, doing my notes, and it said this isn't your father's Patriots offense anymore.
As New England opened up in 2020 season on Sunday by defeating the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium, it did so by rolling out a brand new offense sent around starting quarterback Cam Newton.
By the looks of things, Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels renovated the team's playbook and specifically tried to highlight Newton's mobility, which is obviously very correct.
That was apparent on the quarterbacks to touch on runs, both of which were by design on the day Noone led the team in rushing yards of 75 yards, which is more than his press professor under center Tom Brady.
Or I guess you could say that the former Patriot quarterback that was here for the last two decades typically ran for an entire season.
New England leans heavily on the run from Sunday, using new ones red zone uh, proneness to its advantage and then corrected spots in the passing game that's different from what we've grown accustomed to.
Seen from a Patriots offense, Brady had a history of slicing opposing secondaries with his pinpoint passing over the middle.
As Belichick highlighted on Monday, New England is simply catering its offense to the highlight to the strength of the man under center, just as it did with Brady for the past two decades.
They'll say we're always trying to do what's best for the team to win.
Everything we've done for the last 20 years, and rightfully so has been for Tom Brady.
It was for Tom Brady.
Everything was dedicated to him other than the games that he didn't play in.
Like when Matt Cassel played Jimmy Garoppolo and then Chicago percent when so Brady was suspended.
So there were times when we had to plan, definitely.
But when you're starting quarterback of those things he's really good at or things that you could take advantage to, then I think you try to take advantage of them.
And that's what I thought Bill would video with this quarterback.
That's more mobile, obviously, for sure more than Brady.
But use those things to the strength and what's best for the team.
And I think that's why Patriots run such a great organization For a lot of players coming in from different places.
I even was, you know, Randy Moss was obviously one of my favorite receivers and he was a Patriot receivers and on the Montagnard football crew last night.
As you know, they're getting ready for the two games last night, Pittsburgh and Giants and Titans and Denver Adam Schefter, I think, was Adam Schefter.
Obviously the Schefty ESPN NFL reporter.
He asked Randy Moss, Just how do you think? Do you think that you got better with way that New England does things out there? You know, week by week and he's like, Yeah, he's just like, you know, they have a certain way that they do things around and I think it benefits alive.
Players that comment and come out of the system and they give their best out there.
So I think that's just one thing that he wants to do a Cam Newton.
Bring them in with open arms, make him have fun, enjoy the ability that he can with his legs and a lot to see you. The rest of that.
I think it's very fun and exciting to see what you can do the rest of the year with him.
Kim knew it after the game.
Had Cem Cem comments.
He's saying that he missed the victoriously sore feeling, he said.
I think I missed this Victor Theis victoriously sore feeling, He said he was on a show on Monday morning.
Hey said that there's many different ways to attack a defense and having a quarterback run is just another mentioned that a lot of teams can't have said. Yet.
Through it all, I had to make a conscious decision each and every time I do the run, I do run the ball.
To be smart, not to get ahead of myself are trying to prove a point as long as I run and I take care of myself and get down with need be.
I feel like everything will be OK new and did not take many hits throughout the game as he shifted his focus more on sliding, avoiding contact with an open field.
He went on to say.
I just feel that just how my running style, how kind of morphed over the years, I just feel like I've gotten better at it from time I got lied to the time.
Now people always seem to running them out.
But the time at the same time that's all in the runner is not the same as running back.
You wanted to also say quarterbacks are all sorry quarterbacks all like how this invisible rule to be able to get down in the open field rather than finish the run as other positions would like to dio.
Either I'm in the hammer and not the nail delivering the blow.
Or at the end of day I can get down and, like they all say, live to fight another day.
So I think he said a lot of the the right words out there after the game.
Obviously, his parents, in a style, obviously loves to have a really cool fashion style that were never used really in New England.
But I think it's kind of cool.
I could even show you guys a cool picture.
But he did a lot of this stuff in, uh, Caroline.
I think a lot of people were bugged about it.
Um, you know, couple people were kind of like, You know, you're too focused on the fashion and not about the game But I disagree.
I think I think overall is long, as long as like, you know, he's doing his job and he's obviously is buying in, which is obviously is doing right now.
I think if if you know whatever he wants to do, we could do you know nobody's asking.
You can't do it this way.
So I took a look at this picture that was posting on, and you I'm just gonna get more fired up.
I had basically everything going like we're like we're used to saying so.
He's also said in the past that he's always like Thio kind of be that way.
I think he went to a private high school and it kind of dressed up.
So he's kind of used to the dressing up and everything like that.
So good for him, Good for Kim and, uh, good for your New England Patriots.
So but there are also There's also a game on Sunday at a lot of New Englanders were turned into, And uh, yeah, it was.
Tom Brady is opening debut with the team.
The Bucks went to face the Saints in New Orleans, a very good marquee game.
And before I get into that, I just wanted to kind of get into the difference without fans at the stadium that that that usually we're used to seeing eso the cheerleaders.
I actually, um, I actually had a when I was watching him on Sunday.
I was like, Oh, I see, actually do see cheerleaders.
But I think the Mexicans misinterpretation.
I thought they were able to go actually go inside the statement all they're not able to go on the field like the silent reporters they were all like right around the railings they were gonna interview.
I saw with Big Ben Roethlisberger yesterday.
Maria Taylor was actually interviewing him up from the stands.
Big Ben was already was on the field, but But Maria Taylor was right on the edge on one of the near the stands.
So it's all kind of different.
Um, I obviously there's no rumbling with the crowd, so that was obviously a little bit of an eerie feeling, you know, leading up to the game, you're always having the crowd get into it and everything like that.
You know, I was just, like, five minutes before kick off.
I was just like, Oh, okay, this is just, you know, but this is what we're gonna have to kind of get used to.
And I think once the game kind of get started, I think you know, I think a lot of people like all right, you know, it is what it is.
Bill Belichick actually got asked about feeling with no fans for regular season game, and you made a good point saying, Well, we've done a lot of this in practice.
It really doesn't make much of another difference.
You know, just one is practice, and one is basically, uh, you could say it's, you know, it just gets a game.
It's a game that obviously matters, but it's more of a scrimmage against another team.
And that matters, you know, obviously, with no fans and no, really, you could say the home field advantage at this point, But I think, you know, there was a couple, uh, you know, teams that did have some fans.
Uh, Kansas City did Jackson golden, but I think as time goes on in the next couple months, I think they will start to include a little bit more of teams.
Depends on how they're doing with Kobe cases and everything like that.
But I think I think for now I think just people just get football going and play the game, I think is just making a lot of people just get excited and that was something I was able to on Sunday just being a watch football.
I basically watch it almost the whole entire day just on the couch watching football.
And it's just like there's just, you know, because we've been dealing with so much this year, and obviously it's been it's been, obviously, it's It's been tough, been tougher for many reasons, but to see something that we're always used to seeing every year.
And that's some type of, you know, football game going on during the fall on NFL.
I think it kind of brought people like go, This is awesome.
This brings back to normalcy, and I think people are starting to really, you know, get the sense of don't take anything really left for granted.
As as, you know, it's we're very fortunate Thio to at least right now be able to get some entertainment.
That might be more of a distraction, that that that we need to see it with some sports.
And, uh, I think I think it's obviously it's been great.
Um, Tiu obviously see some sports for sure, as I mentioned, you know, a couple of times, but already before with the episodes I've had on Thursday, So alright, so let's get into some of the thought.
The former Patriots, in terms of how they did.
So Tom Brady, Um, you know, new Team.
Obviously, people are.
I was I don't really tear up by any means.
But Mark Man, after 20 years, my quarterback in New England, you know, I think people are, are we get over it.
You know he's in Tampa Bay, but it's like the first game.
People are like, Wow, this this is actually Riel.
And so you know, the first past you had to Chris Godwin on the first.
Siri's the first series.
That was actually pretty impressive.
They drove right down the field.
Brady was able to rush it in which he's had in the past, this Q b sneak.
Ronnie was ableto Yeah, really motivated and Spike the ball and everything like that.
So they were up there, the Davis seven point lead and then from there, kind of really went downhill with Brady.
Um, he he obviously miscommunicated with one of his shoes receivers and Mike Evans.
He threw an interception there and then the books, you know, made a lot of bad penalties.
A lot of ****ing yourself.
They're kind of used to seen and passengers live penalties.
Obviously the Brady throwing out route that got jumped by generous Jenkins from the Saints and I went to the house.
So obviously, Brady was a little bit frustrated with the way he played in his debut.
I think I think a lot of people were kind of overreacting because it's his first game and people want to know if Belichick if if you could do without Belichick and blah, blah, blah, blah.
People need to relax about, you know how it goes.
Is it right now because it's just one game.
It's against a really good team, the Saints to really good defense.
And obviously I'm not trying to have excuses.
I think Tom really had under achieving type game.
And he admits it.
And Bruce Arians, the coach, put pretty on the spot, saying that Brady obviously was doing great and practices.
You know, obviously this and that.
Everything that is just like both the both of things were on hand.
Both the mistakes and, um, you know, I think things are gonna get better.
Obviously, it's only one week, so you know, I could be talking the Patriots.
It might have a long game next week, and maybe Brady plays a lot better.
than facing the Panthers back in Tampa.
So, you know, I think it's a really just a really cool things political story to see how things go between how builders without Tom and how time does without Bill, and so far, Bill is the only one week.
But, you know, I think overall stats can show that he didn't have a terrible game.
He won 23 of 36.
Like a 64% completion rating.
6 average per passes.
He had two touchdowns, 202 100 sections, unfortunately, which were the ones to come to bite him.
But he did have some report towards them in the second half was more of the the the garbage time, But I think it was.
It was a couple of plays.
I saw that you could say, Okay, this is celebrating I now and it was able to find some guys especially deep down the field, which I think Bruce Arians and the offense was really, uh, wanting coming in.
It's something that I'm really interested with.
Brady's being up there in age, you know? Obviously, Josh McDaniels runs the offense when he was with Josh McDaniels, obviously was more of a dink and dunk.
You know, go up the field type thing I think you're seeing now with more Bruce errands.
I think, of course, the season is he's going to call on shots down the field.
And you said you saw a couple that already in the first game against the Saints.
So besides, you know Brady, obviously, you know, it's a tough one, but obviously, I'm happy that he, you know, I got a couple touchdowns, got a Russian touchdown.
Obviously, hopefully, you can do better next week.
On the other hand, I think I think a lot of people know when little interesting about Gronkowski.
A lot of the talk was operating did, But I thought Gronkowski was really quiet.
Um, you know, I talked about when Broadcast got signed in Tampa Bay.
You have Crisco.
When you have Mike Evans, you have Scotty Miller.
Howard and camera built a tight end, and Gronkowski obviously was in the league last year because he retired and he thought that, you know, his legs got a lot better.
He looked he was, you know, coming more region of it.
More regional, regional regenerated.
Yeah, that's what I That's what I'm trying to say, But, um but I thought that Gronkowski was very limited.
And I think that that's the reason why I don't wanna go back to the Patriots was because at his age, and he wants us to something different once you get down south.
Obviously connection with his mom being out there so you can watch him games, their fans.
But Gronkowski just seems like he's just kind of done.
He's just kind of don't you know, I watched him on.
I watched him on Sunday.
He only made to catch.
He was very limited.
He's gonna, I think, remind me a lot of what Antonio Gates kind of waas you know, Hall.
If I'm tight end, obviously one of the best to do it.
What? You see, the main tight end when Gates wasn't stealing the Chargers was Hunter Henry and he he took the majority of snaps.
I saw a lot of the time, you know, New England.
You see Gronkowski out, there are a lot, you know, in the huddle with Brady Go, I saw Gronkowski go a lot from one side to another.
You saw a lot more about J.
Howard and Cameron Break for sure in the game.
You suck Gronkowski, you know, times in the goal line as they got to the goal line or you saw them, you know, in the short line with some potentially some blocks, you know, for running plays and stuff like that.
But he really didn't do a lot.
And I'm not expecting Gronkowski.
As much as I love Gronk to have a huge part of this offense, maybe he'll have a huge part of that package and everything like that.
But he's just not going to get a lot of the plane time that he used to make Now, maybe with O.
J. Howard came on break.
If they don't produce, maybe they trust Hopefully that drunken, you know, kind of get back down and say that the old crock readers through New England.
But, you know, hopefully you could make some plays that you know the seem right with seem right across the middle, or Brady would do a play action in debates.
Could be money with that play all the time, but just you know.
The first catch he made obviously was kind of an old we feel we're kind of used to seeing Gronk, you know, split the tackle, everything like that.
And it was against kind of more of a smaller guy in the sand.
You just kind of took him down easy.
You know, Grand came up a little bit gimpy and then, you know, I caught another one.
He did break the tackle, but it was just like, you know, I feel I'm I think I think for sure, you know, you're seeing that Bronx time playing football, something to them.
But I think you're just trying to enjoy the same times.
That's why he's making sure it's gonna be a go.
So those were two former Patriots, um, in terms of the way that they went on play.
Jamie Collins obviously is a former Detroit line.
He's a former Patriot Niland, Detroit Lions.
He was ejected and I had to see what happened.
I think he he but helmet with the referee and the referee and just like you really can't do that.
So we kicked them out, and that's the way things went with Collins Vanoy Landon Roberts and Ted Carrots from the Dolphins as they were playing in New England, I thought Karis played patiently.
I didn't see him get really beat up a lot.
The annoying and Roberts.
Um you know what? With them being more on the edges for linebackers, You just really saw a lot of van noy.
He got a little bit slow at times, especially the bootlegs from New.
And But he also made some plays that I'm like.
I remember that from Van No.
I was able to set the edge a couple times and runs.
Uh, Roberts was able to make a couple of, uh, you know, stops, you know, across the middle.
But he also was really excited.
You know, he had some comments about going against the players.
Uh, you know, going back to his own all team for sure.
So those were kind of, you know, uh, some of the former guys out there I want to go to a quick preview now off the Seahawks.
So, the Seahawks, they played against the Falcons this past week.
Actually, let's not go into the Seahawks just yet.
I want to first get into some, uh, receivers that might be out there, that the Patriots could potentially link Thio.
One guy who the pictures have had a little bit of linkage to in past years.
He does have some stuff off the field that obviously, I don't know what the picture will go after, but he is rumbling with rumors now and another guy who is frustrated with long term extension in trade talks.
So the first guy So Alan Robinson, Obviously, Allen Robinson as a receiver he's been leave for past years has been a really good target on the outside.
Some the Patriots thes two guys that the Patriot linked to our outside targets.
I think that's where the Patriots need help.
They need some guys that can be able to mesh with Newton and have a connection, and one of them is already best friends with Newton, and he's already had offseason work with new one.
So that's why I think this story is so interesting to see what if Bill or anybody decides to pull the plug and the trigger and try to get some outside receiver to say okay now, Besides what came out there uh, you know, we have to a lot.
We have to worry about this guy besides Edelman and Harry and a couple other guys.
So Alan Robinson and Odell Beckham Jr are currently in rumblings of potentially rumors of trades or shopping here and there.
Allan Robinson from Tom Poster on NFL Network.
Delete all the Bears content.
You know, sometimes you know when guys, you know, delete stuff from their instagram and Twitter, you know, Oh, people, people are just gonna overreact and, you know it's, you know, if they're going to get traded, are going to get moved.
So a couple of times it's happened a couple other times like, Okay, it's just, you know, that's happened that way.
Maybe they but apparently he's really frustrated.
Robinson is to, um, a long term extension, And I also saw a tweet that from another reporter that Alan Ron says, asked about the bear the bear is about, just possibly just train him away.
I'm just like, if you're the Patriots, you can take a guy that's been to a pro ball, I believe.
In four years on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He had some decent years in Chicago.
I would say Go pounce on it.
You have all the money.
Now you have the cap.
You definitely need some help from the outside the receiving court.
The only reason why you know I wouldn't do it is a bill.
Really? Trust in a lot of the receivers besides Edelman and Harry.
And you're seeing that Edelman is going to go to a lot more limited this year with the Patriots because that's the only guy that they really can trust.
That's a key veteran that knows the offense so well.
So and I don't know what these two guys, how they could be able to come in and and adjust to the Patriots system, but what that means, I think they would for sure be upgrades over.
Really? What, that receiving group one of the what the receiving group of the Patriots has with the mere bird.
Um, you know, gun or else Chesky.
It's just like nothing to take away from them.
I think they're decent key guys, but you're like Alan Robinson, Odell Beckham that they're gonna be able to potentially grab one of those for a couple, maybe a couple of draft picks, then defensively.
Okay, There's another name.
Another name that we have the key.
And I on, um So obviously, I think this is gonna be very, very, uh, interesting.
Really, really interesting topic.
You're seeing the name, uh, come up with a couple of teams, Uh, that I've already lost couple key guys, uh, due to injury.
But I think it's, I think, would be a great moves.
Or Alan Robinson.
I would say more. Valen Robinson.
The fact that I don't I don't see on Robinson is a guy that's, ah, that has a lot of, you know, stuff off the field that he gets in trouble with.
But I think Cam Newton and Odell have worked together off the field. They're great friends.
And I think maybe if you know, if they could work together and stuff like that, obviously I was.
I think there'll be a cool thing.
Another former patriot, By the way, that I was thinking about talking with it.
I forgot to talk about the guy that I thinks about done, and I feel so bad for him in that Stephen Gostkowski, the kicker Gostkowski got signed by the Tennessee Titans and for those that watched the game yesterday.
Oh, man, He obviously had the game winning kick against the Denver Broncos, but he missed about three or four kicks.
He's had some kicking problems in the past against the Denver Broncos, but there's no excuse in terms of what happened.
First of all, there's no when to deal with.
There's no fans.
They can get into his head.
I just think, you know, he's dealt with him, but he's dealt with a hip injury and he's dealt with live, uh, injuries that he just might be.
Hey, just might be done.
You know, his career might be done.
Obviously, he just didn't look like the Stephen Gostkowski that I remember from New England.
You know, basically almost being on Mac.
You know, he missed some kicks er in there.
But obviously yesterday night Hey, deaf.
It was definitely not the same kicker that I was used Thio seen.
So obviously I think a lot of people are expecting and potentially got cut.
I want to be surprised by any means, but I just wanted to kind of get that name out there.
Stephen Gostkowski, man, I want to say, Hopefully, I think next week he'll bounce back if you sold the times.
I am hoping he bounces back, especially with making that game winning field goal.
It should get a little bit more confidence in the teammates.
Obviously gave a lot of, um, you know, help after you miss Couple.
Also breaking news from Europe Orca about 30 last week pages elevated kicker Nick Folk to the active roster before the game in practice.
Now they're officially signed into the 53 man source. Said.
Said he won't go back down the practice squad.
Stay up and he will kick, which means that he is the guy that picked response for this several years.
So all right, so I think with that being said, well, quickly going to a preview, the Seahawks and I got some headlines and that'll be it, Um, so the Seahawks is gonna be a really good team.
The Seahawks have always been a great team in the past.
Uh, you know, the Patriots have played in a couple times.
Obviously, Super Bowl Seahawk fans don't get upset May, but there's always like to remember the interception from Malcolm Butler.
Obviously, Malcolm Butler is also another former page that played in the Titans Broncos game.
But, you know, But I think about your Seahawks.
I just I just think about that great Super Bowl.
But the Seahawks did be the Patriots in Foxboro a couple years ago.
Uh, they're really close game.
And then, you know, I played a couple of times in Seattle a couple times.
They want a couple times they lost.
But obviously, that's a place in the top man.
That's usually really going crazy.
But no fans this year.
It gives a guy on Kim new and some confidence, and I've seen what Cam Newton has already done to Seattle in the past with the Carolina Panthers.
He's second couple of games there.
So, no, I'm not saying he can, you know, duplicate what you might have done with Carolina in Seattle.
But I've seen a couple of past James Kim in Seattle, and whatever reason, he's done quite well on in Seattle, so that should obviously she keeps, um, Patriot fans up a little bit optimistic.
But this is a great team in the Seattle Seahawks.
Obviously, you have none.
VP Russell Wilson is.
And I mentioned he is obviously one of my favorite quarterbacks.
I'll give you kind of his stats from last week.
Hey was incredible.
He 31 of 35 for four touchdowns, 322 yards.
He was on my fantasy team, so he gave me a lot of great fantasy points and then the Russian attack.
Obviously, Wilson is very mobile veteran type quarterback, so he will run.
You have Carlos hotter.
They brought in Chris Carson, who's won the silver in the main backs on.
Then if you go to the receiving corps, they're just they're receiving corps.
It is pretty good.
You know, they have d K. Metcalf.
Who the Patriots side of going to kill Harry over.
Metcalfe, Don't remind me.
I think I have trusted Harry.
But what I've seen already from that calf, it's like I just wish they were able to potentially wait a little bit and potentially grab him.
But his own quite chattel uh, Metcalf has already had a touchdown.
He was four catches for 95 yards last week.
Another guy Cheon is Tyler Lockett.
Tire lock has been a great, uh, great was here for Wilson in past years, and I think he's gonna want to give the Patriots fits in the in their secondary.
They also have, you know, David more, uh, the couple tight ends.
The Titans aren't too bad.
They brought in Greg Olsen.
You had a touchdown, actually, last week.
They still Jacob Hollister will decently and then they're kicking.
It doesn't seem that bad, either with Jason Myers.
So this is gonna be a tough game, then Their defense is still quite good.
Obviously not the same defense that that, you know, the Patriots face, you know, in the Super Bowl with, obviously with Kam Chancellor Richard Sherman.
You know, secondary is arguably the legion of Boom as basically, not really the legion of boom there anymore, but it's still pretty good they have KJ.
They have KJ Wright, Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner, who was part of that Super Bowl team in the pages. Face them.
Quinton Dunbar, Clinton Dix, Jamal Adams.
The new coming from the Jets safety.
He knows the Patriots quite well in past years, Jamal Adams had a fantastic game in his new team, a solo tackles, therefore assisted tackles and a sack seven yards lost.
They also have keen Griffin, so they have a lot of talent talked about, um, with that team, actually a great coach Pete Carroll.
So we'll have to see how the game goes Sunday night.
I'll obviously have a recap of how it goes next week for Tuesday night Patriots.
So, But with that being said, that should be it for my Patriots content got into lines, and then, uh, that will wrap things up for tonight.
So ah, the latest remember be, uh, is that the MLB and the players union have agreed on playing this year's postseason in bubble settings.
Jeff Passan and Ken Rosenthal.
First, said the report.
Ken Rosenthal from the athletic.
So the World Series, going to start October 20th at Global Field in Arlington, Texas, it's going to end no later than October 28th.
It will cultivate a month of playoff games will be going to the top forces in each league, closing all the games in a best of three vessel, three wild card.
Siri's the four American League Siri's would run in September 29th, the 30th in October 1st the National League reply, September 30th, October 1st and second.
Tuesday's agreement will allow family members to join the players earlier. Division Siri's.
They will need to quarantine for a week before then and take a charter to their division.
Serious type division. Serious site.
Everyone inside the bubble will need to be tested daily for the Kobe in 19 the highest remaining at sea in the N L would play its division Siris in Arlington, and the next highest seed will face its opponent at Houston's Minute Maid Park.
This topsy from the A L would be the home team at San Diego's Petco Park, and the other spheres be held at Los Angeles.
Dodger Stadium Sales Championship series will take place in San Diego and ls NLCS now intend, giving the NLD's top seed like the Dodgers ah, path to the stationary October two big games? Obviously, my Celtics were able to win Game seven on because past Friday it was a close one, I know, but they start a new Siri's.
Obviously, Aiken can relax too much because obviously I think it's me a great Siri's, but it's obviously not.
It's a must win game tonight by any means, but with that being said, it would be known each other. Celtics.
You have a great start to their Siri's.
I think this series is gonna go seven games.
So the Heat sell the Miami Heat are the team that the Celtics will be facing the Eastern Conference finals in a trip.
A trip to the NBA Finals would be the one of those Eastern Conference game, so that Game one starts tonight.
Game two will be on Thursday, so that's be fun.
But tonight, there is a big game on the MBA as well.
But Game seven and the Western Conference final on the line between the Clippers and the Nuggets, the winner will take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers for the Western Conference.
Uh ah, Finals and the Clippers.
They had a 31 lead in the Siri's, and they had to 16 point leads in the last two games, thinking, Oh, it's all over.
It's all done the Nuggets for they're facing.
They came back from a 31 series against the Jazz.
Can the Nuggets pull off the upset and not on Lee come back from a 31 series deficit in which they've already tied it but do it twice and be able to when this series, after coming back to games, have serious from 16 point deficit.
Talk about incredible talk about a great story for a team that I think is a really good, solid team.
I'm not saying anything away from Denver.
I think the Clippers, obviously we're clear favor with a lot of their key playmakers.
But the Nuggets, they're a good team to their Really, You know Nicole Yokich, Jamal Murray.
They have a lot of good pieces, and if they pull off, I would say the upset because I think they're more of the underdog.
But if they pull off this upset boiled boy, the Clippers should be kicking themselves because they have 31 seriously and uh, to 16 point leads in games that it could have wrapped up and already won the Siri's.
It's a Game seven and nothing better, so that should be fun.
That that's gonna be right after the Celtics game and the Sellers Heat is starting.
I believe in I should get going 15 minutes, I believe.
Hot to double check on that.
Um, more MBN news and congrats.
Uh, 2020 2020 1920.
All rookie teams are announced.
First team was John Moran, Kendrick Nunn, Zion Williamson, Brain Clark, Eric Paschal, second team Cody, Kobe White, Tyler, Hero Terrence Davis.
Second, PJ Washington and Rudy Hachi. Mars.
So congrats all those guys for those accomplishments this season.
Uh, the Jets signed Kalen Balaj.
Finally, uh, Leon Libyan bill had to go on IR.
A Florida judge today ordered Freed and Antonio Brown and turnover within 15 days.
Text messages and other events request by attorneys for the woman who was accused him of **** and ***ual assault and ongoing civil case.
I'm told trials is set for December, so Antonio were obviously one of the best players receivers in the game for so long.
Obviously has had a lot of problems off the field for sure, but his argument to be suspended if any team won again, these are gonna be suspended for the 1st 78 games.
So, uh, it looks like from today that the Big 10 has had has held a vote to bring football back, and it passed with these.
According to multiple reports, uh, Nebraska President Ted Carter might have leaked something earlier in the day, but from David hoop stead.
Um, he said that it's a done deal.
Big 10 Football is back.
Today is a great day to be American.
Ohio State and Penn State both tweeted football videos, indicating that an official announcement from the Big 10 it's imminent.
Football is happening.
The only question at this point is when the announcement is going to be made.
So it looks like we might have football for the Big 10.
