Welcome here to another edition of the all sports Stock Show.
I am s gentleman Ah, lot of news to talk about.
And especially today we will be giving a week one recap of the NFL season officially underway.
Every team has played.
Obviously there is no buys. Week one.
So every team has officially had their first win or their first loss.
Surprising loss is what we'll go over them.
And also some SportsCenter's across sports.
How's it going, Sam? I'm doing very well.
I was like, Yeah, I mean, the patriots won against the Dolphins on Sunday and then I'm looking forward to another, uh, New England Miami matchup when the Boston Celtics faced the Miami Heat tonight in Game one.
So yeah, exciting time to be a sports fan, for sure.
And yeah, it was an awesome weekend in the NFL.
A lot of really entertaining games, and it was great to have it back.
Okay, And it's only two of us today.
How's it going, Grant? I'm doing good.
Isaac, Welcome everyone to another edition of the sports hot show.
I'm Grandfather from Blitzer Sport Zone, an NFL Sunday with a bunch of crazy games.
We have their last sports news.
We know the Dallas Stars.
They're going to the Stanley Cup finals.
A lot of crazy sports news to get into today.
So let's start with the NFL. Of course.
Now I'm gonna first start off with the injuries.
So let's start off with a negative note and go to a more positive note.
So we know there have been some injuries.
And let's start with the more major ones in terms off, you know, players being out the rest of the season and a few weeks.
So we're gonna first start with Levian Bell, who obviously, is the Jets starting running back.
Pretty good running back.
It's not that good under Adam Gates.
I don't think anyone is that good under Adam Gates.
I'll be honest with you, but anyway leave.
Ian Bell is gonna be out for a few weeks now.
Marlon Mack Grant, Can you just give us a little description of what happened? Um, all in Mac Week one.
You know he's back, and he's now done for most of us, probably the whole season.
Yeah, Marlon Mack tours a C L against the Jaguars on Sunday.
And you know this.
This really stinks because Marlon Mack, I think, was projected to have a fantastic year.
And honestly, in my opinion, I do think he is a slightly above average running back.
But I will say this for the cults.
Don't worry, because Jonathan Taylor is supposed to be the spectacular rookie I will buy into the hype.
I think it will do a good job filling in for Marlon Mack.
We also sought to keep behind score a couple touchdowns against the Jaguars as well, and I think he's a pretty good secondary option as well.
So, you know, my Alumax injured.
I know it might stink right now, but I think you know, if they used running backs, right, you know, the silver saw receiving court.
Great tight end, jacked away all my again.
I think the cult should be fine and they should be able to move on from this injury.
Now there's so much out for the season Blake drawing, and this actually comes at a bad time because he finally, he's the lead tight end.
You know, last year he had competition with Jason wouldn't who's now on the Las Vegas Raiders.
So this is the year that drawing had no competition.
But guess what? Hey, he's gonna have no competition because he's gonna be on the injured reserve the rest of the season, so that's tough for him.
Look, the Cowboys still have a good receiving corps.
Amari Cooper O C d landed pretty good.
And by the way they do in this broadcast, we will give you, uh, mhm rookie recap, and I'm gonna share the screen and show you what ESPN posted on Instagram.
Now, I'm gonna go to Grant and Sam and ask them who What they what, Rookie they think did the best week one.
But anyway, city lamb did good.
Mark Cooper is good.
So black drawing that stuff now.
Some minor injuries.
Devante Parker is not gonna play ah week to It's not officially announced, but to find your bell.
Who's the injury? Uh, the I should say injury ****ysis person at ESPN.
Um, she says devante Parker's injury is concerning.
Um, he had this injury, um, during training camp, and he played a week one.
And guess what? What makes this injury so concerning is that that was the same injury as the one he had in training camp, which is the hamstring injury.
So if you have the same injury as the one you have in the training camp, what does that mean? Well, that basically means that you aggravated you guys.
Know what I mean? You think? And he just got it worse.
So, Devante Parker, you know, his injuries should be concerning.
Sam, what do you think about the Montes Parker's injury? Now, let me tell you, I'm demo could not stop him.
In the few snaps he played, he played less than a half and he still had four receptions for over 50 yards.
Still impressive for the small sample size.
He was on the field.
Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
I was actually depressed.
Impressed? Excuse me With the performance from Devante Parker early on in that game, of course, before he picked up the injury and had to watch from the sidelines for the remainder of the game.
And yeah, I I think I think the dolphins, you know, it was evident that they really missed him because he was really only, you know, one of the only bright spots in that dolphins offense that, you know, I really took out of that game.
And what once he got injured and was out for the rest of the game, the Dolphin just just could not get into any offensive rhythm whatsoever.
And yet Devante Parker was doing very good against Stephon Gilmore.
That's obviously Oh, every time those to the Patriots and Dolphins Meat, it's Ah, it's those two that everyone has their eyes on usually, and to see who will win that match up in.
Parker, historically speaking, has done well against Gilmore and that the same could be said for for Sunday.
Until, of course, Devante Parker had to come out of the game.
And, yeah, that that that was a big loss for Miami, I thought.
And overall, yeah, Stefan Gilmore.
I don't think I don't think he had that good that good of a game.
Yes, he had the interception, but it was a pretty easy interception.
He had some costly pass interference penalties, and even after Parker left the game, obviously, Gilmore's job became, you know, uh, much easier.
But he still he still made some mistakes.
So overall, you know, I think it was it was a game to forget for Stefan Gilmore because he definitely struggled and his job was made much easier once.
Devante Parker, you know, unfortunately, got injured and had to leave the game, But yeah, that's a That's a big loss for sure, for the Dolphins.
And yeah, someone told me that's the fun Gilmore did good.
I said, first of all, you never see him really committed pass interference.
It's gonna happen, like sometimes by accident, let alone a few.
And they came at bad times.
Fourth, and to remember that play Fitzpatrick aired it down the field.
Well, that was a big penalty.
And fourth and two.
And Fitzpatrick was actually trying, Uh oh.
I think it was fresh and Williams to draw the penalty.
But anyway, I said this to the kid who told me that's the fungi eroded. Good.
I said, Yeah, he got interception Now, sometimes interceptions or luck, right? The ball just goes to him, so that doesn't make you good.
And he said to me, Oh, interception, do not look, I said sometimes, right.
And in that case he didn't go exactly to him.
He didn't move towards the wall.
But anyway, like you said, Sams to fund Jimbo didn't have that could have a game even when Devante Parker was out of the game.
Because, you know, those pass interference cars were really bad.
I know you were commentating the Saints of Buccaneers game.
We'll get to Brady and that game later, when you know we preview our surprising things that happened.
Our, you know, it could be surprising if it's a bad thing, right? Eso and Sam, I think, is going to know what to say as well.
But Grant Michael Thomas, he says he could play through the injury.
But fantasy wise, real life wise.
Just because you can play through an injury doesn't mean you could be as a effective and weak one.
He did get injured in that game.
He didn't have a good game.
I don't know if it was affected by, you know, the injury.
I'm not a doctor, but he didn't look close to what Michael Thomas looks like.
You know it's to find your morning, do that good.
But Michael Thomas is way off, you know, get the interception, which makes him look like Stefan Demo.
But Michael Thomas was way off.
So Grant should Michael Thomas.
Oh, I should say, is his injury concerning? And what do you think about? First of all, you know, Michael Thomas, Maybe not leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, maybe DeAndre Hopkins after we saw what he did Week one? Absolutely.
Yeah, no, Thomas definitely wasn't really involved in the game plan.
And, yes, I do think it is because of this injury, because we saw in the first half Breeze was mainly targeting track Juan Smith.
And then the second half, he kind of opened up a little bit more to guys like Jared cooking Emmanuel Sanders.
I believe Thomas only had three receptions on, like, four targets.
And it's just, you know, last year Thomas was getting, you know, at least like eight targets a game, if not even more than that.
So it's definitely gonna be interesting, I imagine.
You know, Thomas, we find, you know, maybe if you have to sit out a week, maybe sit out a week.
But I do think eventually, once he recovers fully, he'll he'll be back to his normal self and be a top three receiver in the league.
Like I think we're all expecting to be, but yeah, overall, I gotta be honest.
Yeah. DeAndre Hopkins impressed me a lot.
And, yeah, I could easily see if you lead the league in the receiving yards or receptions this year because it seems like him and Kyler Murray.
I mean, that's awesome that they have that good.
Uh, yeah, the good time going right at the gate, I think that's awesome.
Yeah, for Michael Thomas.
Um, yeah, I think I think it'll be a right after, you know, a couple of weeks, I think will really start to see the real Michael Thomas around week four or five.
Who get in the groove.
I don't know if you have a good year last year, we should be like a Pro Bowl caliber players.
I wouldn't count him out.
George kiddo is also questionable.
We won't talk about that.
You probably will play.
I'm just pointing it out.
You guys to know now? Let's indeed get to our week.
We only talked about our injuries, but upset Great slash bad performances.
Grant, one upset.
Please don't make me say the one that you that you're not going to say I did not watch the game.
I did not watch the game, Sam, I bet didn't either.
No one wants to watch that one team.
Well, yeah. Course.
One for all of you on social media said they were going winless.
I said that you were crazy.
I said, Listen, I I don't think they're gonna have a good year.
But for everyone saying, Oh, this team's gonna go in 16.
1st off, no matter how bad team is You never said that. Go in 16.
They're bound to at least 11 or two games.
You have thoroughly bad.
Jonathan was 15 straight to go. 1 15.
Whatever it is what it is.
But Gardner Minshew.
Three touchdowns, No picks under a 73 yard.
Sure, that's not a lot, but he went 1921 incompletion, three touchdown passes.
And also I was very impressed with James Robinson, the rookie running back who got the starting job over Chris Thompson.
Well, Arm says currently on the co vid injured reserve list and and of course, they got rid of Leonard Fournette.
So you know this guy in his debut.
I was impressed with him mainly because, you know, he played great elements.
Not the rookie, you know, through reception, 37 yards and touchdown.
I was very pleased that, you know, we got touchdowns. Debut.
Same thing with D J chart.
He made the Pro Bowl last year.
He did pretty well, Three catches for 25 yards.
And another thing I gotta mention there is one solid player left on that Jaguars defense.
He played good in his first career game, but Myles Jack, eight tackles, 34 assists and the sack.
You know, the government and got where they got rid of Ronnie Harrison.
They have a lot of very good players on that defense, but they still have Miles, Jack.
I believe, a three year deal or four year deal last offseason.
And I'll tell you one thing.
He and Josh down to get me there to stay and spent the Jaguars having a pretty lackluster defense.
Otherwise, I mean, they showed up to the occasion.
They stopped the cult on a couple of fourth downs late in the game and I believe early in the second quarter.
You know, Rivers, he really kind of seemed a little bit off.
I do think, Phil Purpose.
We ultimately have a better year, you know, a few weeks down the road.
I certainly designed the Colts playbook a little bit.
I think that's why he struggled mainly throughout the second half.
But, um, and of course, once Marlon MCA hurt, that's when the culture really started to slow down offensively.
But, yeah, I'm very impressed with the Jaguars.
I think the Colts could certainly bounced back.
And, uh, yeah, I'm pretty pleased.
We have seen how the young Jaguar players so far, hopefully meant you could keep it up.
And I mean, hey, what's to say Texans? They look pretty bad against the Chiefs.
The Titans barely beat the Broncos, and you know the cult they can't rebound.
What? Marlon Mack being injured? That singer is gonna be a playoff team, but they might win about 5 to 6 games, which I know could shock some people, which still be a horrible year.
But uh huh, it was nice.
It was nice to see CJ Anderson from the Florida Gators interception in his first game are pretty good interception.
Actually, I'll do something quick because I know I'm doing this for my next take my whole article and I'm gonna put it out there.
Ron Rivera is the next big thing for the Washington football team.
Ron Rivera is the perfect coach for the football team.
Do Belichick? Maybe the smartest coach Andy Reid may be a good coach.
Hello, Shanahan. Maybe one of the best offensive.
You know, coaches of all time.
It doesn't matter.
I feel like for this situation to deal with scandals and while dealing with cancer, and that's what makes him so special.
He is one of my most favorite coaches, based on one reason.
He's dealing with cancer, and he's dealing with a team that has had many problems.
Now, when you say, why is he dealing with scandals? He had nothing to do.
He just came to the team this offseason.
He's not dealing with the scandals, but he's dealing with players.
He's dealing with the front office.
He's dealing with a fan base who is upset.
Ron Rivera is the perfect, I say perfect more than Bill Belichick, more than any coach to deal with this situation and it was shown week one.
Hey, they lose Week one.
Sure, he's still the perfect coach for the situation.
They upset the Eagles, the Washington football team, and we'll show it right.
They're the only team that gotta win Week one in the NFC East.
Congratulations to them.
They dealt with a lot.
Runner Vera took Ivy at halftime.
That shows you how you know much.
He wants the coach.
Yes, who gave the halftime pep talk? Dwayne Haskins.
He stepped up Chase Young had a great first game.
One sack, You say That's not impressive.
Hey, guys, if you get one sack each game, that's really impressive.
That's a pro ball type of player.
So the Washington football team or the team I want to talk about because they upset the Philadelphia Eagles, who probably will make the playoffs this year.
You know them or the Cowboys? Who knows? They could both make it because of the expanded playoffs.
Mhm, Sam, you could I don't know what I'm saying.
And you could give you upset because I know there's a few more.
My my biggest upset was also, uh, the Washington Football team defeating the Philadelphia Eagles.
And, uh, I will say yes.
It was an impressive win for Washington, no doubt about it.
I mean, who would have saw that coming after it was, you know, 17.
Philadelphia at the half and then 27 unanswered points for Washington in the second half.
Just an unbelievable comeback, really.
But I will say I think that that result shows Maura about the issues that the Philadelphia Eagles have than about.
You know how good Washington is.
No doubt it was a great win for Washington.
But I still think there that they're they're not a good football team.
I hate to break it to you, but I still see this.
This team being like five and 11 or something.
Something along those lines.
Um, I mean, I feel I feel like you know it.
It is just, you know, one week, one game, and so I feel like we can't overreact too much on on this Washington victory, but they're still just when you look at when you look at their team, there's still just not not a good enough team. In my opinion.
Yes, they have a few good players, no doubt about it.
But I I just I just see that the Washington football team finishing still with just five wins.
Yes, it was, you know, a great start for them in the season to go on to know, and we'll see how they do here in Week two.
But for whatever reason, I just don't have don't have enough faith in this Washington team that they will have a great season.
Yes, I was surprised that they got a week one win, but it doesn't really change.
Change my my viewpoint on how this team will dio in the long run of the season.
Yeah, I agree with you, and I don't think a lot of people are even saying they're good and if they get more than five points, they're lucky.
Now, what just makes Ron Rivera the perfect coach for them is not getting them more than five months, because I doubt that's gonna happen.
But he's just dealing with the situation, keeping, you know, the players heads up, Chase Young comes in as a rookie.
What does he say in his press conference? He is so honored to be playing under Ron Rivera he says that he says Ron Rivera is doing one of the best jobs in the NFL.
If they lose, it doesn't matter.
That doesn't show.
Von Rivera's a bad coach, right? And this is what I said about Bryan Flores.
He's a good coach.
There's only so much a coach could dio.
Bill Belichick can have the biggest effect out of any coach in the NFL.
And I'm not gonna say it was showing Week one because Cam Newton was good and I'll talk about that.
But Belichick does have the biggest effect.
It wasn't showing Week one.
Like I said, because I think can do that had more of an impact.
But anyway, Ronald there is perfect.
I do want to just quickly highlight one upset Rams beating the Cowboys opening of so far stadium.
Um, look, the Rams want that impressive.
I think the only really impressive player was Malcolm Brown, who was the backup to Todd Gurley last year.
You could call him a starting running back.
He's gonna be splitting times with rookie camp makers in the backfield, but not come Brown show promise back there in the backfield did good and He's not a passing back, but he did good.
He's a power back, right? He got two touchdown, and that was in the red zone like I would expect him to run with the ball so that the game wasn't impressive.
I don't think and again, like you said about just the Washington football team game, it showed how just showed more about the Eagles.
I think that game show more about the Cowboys as well. Grant.
What do you think? I mean, I don't think the Rams were that impressive.
Either they want and they deserve to win.
The Cowboys should have one, and we know that.
And that was projected to win.
And I don't want to get to the offensive pass their affairs County on Michael Gallup with about 30 seconds left.
I thought that was a bit of a blown call, but regardless, the Cowboys the main thing when I take a look at it, Il should the Cowboys have one Sunday night, I take a look at the fourth and three.
They went for it early in the fourth quarter.
Once seedy lamb was tackled, the art shy of the marker there at the 20 yard line.
You are trailing by three.
Kick the field goal and tie the game.
I think I bet in the Rams, but at the same time, we're also very similar, and I'm not shocked that came game down to the wire, that result in the Rams victory.
I kind of sense that was gonna happen.
That this was going to be a very close game is gonna come down in the last drive.
And it's just the fact that they didn't kick the field goal when they could have literally kicked a field goal from 30 yards out.
They don't have a rookie kick or anything because you know Greg Zuerlein, especially Greg Zuerlein, Former Ram.
Wouldn't that be nice to get revenge against his former team? Perhaps, I don't know.
But you know what I'm saying? I mean, there was no need for them to go for it on the fourth and three, and now does this change? My opinion on the Cowboys just changed my opinion.
Really, Anything like Cowboys? It like lackluster.
Other than that, they probably could have forced a game in overtime.
That's precisely the point.
But you know, folks, Mike McCarthy, I know you're in your Cowboys a B or so you think this week one You like this one game slip.
But when you're in a division with the Eagles and who knows the football team continues their run, who knows, You know you're gonna be You know, the count was already ah, borderline playoff team.
And just like last year, they could barely mystify a game.
And it wouldn't be shocked if it happens again this year.
I just wouldn't be.
You have to take a look at those aggressive.
Also, it's like if you took the points forced a game and the overtime Ogi we could have won.
I mean, you look back at the end of the year.
If the Cowboys end up doing poorly, you take a look at some of those performances and you're like, Man, I wish I just made the right call that plane.
Maybe we would have been good. I don't know.
What do you guys think? I'll just quickly say the key factor on the Cowboys Every game? It's Ezekiel Elliott.
You got 96 yards.
They got to touch them.
There, be at trying to Carey's.
4 yards per carry.
Okay, I'm still Zika Ali, a local club.
And we know who's the girl.
That's a good running back, right? I feel like he needs to do more on my crazy.
I mean, that's good.
I just feel like he needs to do more in my wrong on.
Then I think that we need to do Maura's Well, well, you know, I think we always need to do more.
Hey, always need more.
But I just feel like Ezekiel Elliott has higher expectations.
I don't know. I mean 96 yards.
The statue looks impressive.
But when I was watching the game, he didn't look that impressive.
Alright, bad performances.
Sam started off.
So for teams you mean or players, either one.
All right, well, I'll go over some quarterbacks that that disappointed me.
I'll start off since we were just talking about the Eagles.
Um I mean, like, this was just such such a disappointing performance from him, and I think he's at large part to blame for that second half.
I'm not putting all of the blame on him by any means, but I mean, in that second half.
He was just so underwhelming and and you know, the offensive.
Zero points in the second half, for for the Eagles.
So once again, you know Carson Wentz, In my opinion, he's a good quarterback, but he at times he just doesn't doesn't play like one.
I know, I know it's Week one.
So you know, let's let's not let's not overreact and stuff like that.
We're just basing it off of the first game of the season.
I was very disappointed with the performance from Carson Wentz, also Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns.
Just the whole team for the Browns, As a matter of fact, I mean, it's just the most Cleveland thing.
I know they played a very good team from, you know, arguably, you know, the best team in the league, or at least up there in the Baltimore Ravens.
But to get blown out like they did in a divisional game.
I mean, come on, and you know, now we're hearing rumors that maybe they could trade Odell Beckham.
We'll see about all that, but it's just the same old story with the Cleveland Browns, and now they have a quick turnaround against the Cincinnati team, who I will, I'll talk about later.
But I thought, you know Joe Burrow definitely provide a spark in that team.
So that should be an interesting matchup in that Battle of Ohio and then the the other.
The other thing I wanted to point out for when it cames up quarterbacks who disappointed me, I'd say Sam, Donald and I want I'm not really surprised by it because he he's disappointed ever since he, you know, came into the league with the New York Jets.
I've given him some time, and you know, now, now he is.
He has been in the league for a good amount of time, and he just needs to be better.
He Every time he plays out there, he looks like, you know, an average backup and not the starter who is leading this Jets team.
And, uh, eso yeah, that the New York Jets lost to the Buffalo Bills and Sam Donald just didn't did not show me anything promising whatsoever.
So, yeah, those were the three quarterbacks that I thought had bad performances, and then, yeah, the Browns were the team that definitely disappointed me.
You didn't name Tom Brady on upset.
See you perfectly allowed to have that connection with Brady.
But that doesn't give you an excuse to not say his name, because you may not think he did.
But I absolutely think he had a bad performance.
There's no excuse why he has the weapons.
We know he's still accurate.
We know he's older, but Brady has shown he's still accurate.
Gronk did bad, so I know Sam was talking about TVs.
I could name other players besides QBs granted.
It is weak one and No.
One, and I mean no one.
No one had high expectations for Gronk, right? But he could still catch the ball in the end zone.
I know the Bucks didn't get down the field a lot, but glum should have Still, you know, caught the ball more.
And why Brady was definitely upsetting.
Sam, I know you have made a little expression.
I don't know if you want to give your opinion on that.
Yeah, well, Tom Brady definitely didn't play well, and you know, I'm not reading from to do good.
I'm not rooting for him to do bad.
You know, I'm not.
I'm not a Tom Brady fan.
I'm a New England Patriots fan.
So I moved on from him.
But but But, you know, I I did watch the bucks Saints game, you know, like, ah, lot of people were, um, And in the 4 25 time slot.
And I know both of you were on the call for it.
And I think, um, I honestly feel like he he had Yeah, he had a he had a I wouldn't say a decent performance, but I wouldn't say Yeah, it was.
It was It was not good.
I wouldn't say it was a flat out bad performance from him because I thought at times he he had some good passes.
And obviously, the second reception he threw the pick six.
There was just There is no excuse for that.
And yeah, at at times, you know, there were throws where you were saying, What what on earth was that? But I will say this.
I understand your point when you say he has all of these weapons.
But there's Onley so much that Tom Brady could do himself.
And there's only so much blame you could put on Tom Brady for this loss because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers we found out this weekend that they're the same loser franchise.
And, you know, I'm not saying they're gonna be a loser team this year.
Raised talking the top five Q B.
They could change that with a Q B.
Well, listen, they have a clown coach and Bruce Arians.
I mean, he just does not know what he's doing and that this is a big reason why we're This is a big reason why I think so many people overlook.
You know how important the coaching is, because when you look at a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, how many times did you know Mike Evans and the receivers for the Buccaneers? Jump offsides and the offensive line was atrocious for Tampa Bay? They were awful.
And then the defense was not impressive, either.
So this whole Buccaneers team looks so out of sorts their offense weren't on the same page.
The punt return where the two players collided.
They just looked like a bunch of people who had no idea what they were doing.
And that's the same old Temple Buccaneers.
Just with Tom Brady is the quarterback.
And I'm sure many of you saw the expression on Tom Brady's face at the end of the game.
And I'm sure he's thinking, Oh, no, What did I put myself into? Because, you know, yes, you know, it's surprising that he went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but not until he steps on the field in place for them.
I think Tom Brady actually realized, Oh my goodness, what did I maybe put myself into ensure this could be a week One overreaction? But yeah, Rob Gronkowski played awful.
He doesn't look like he belongs on a football field.
And I'll own up to that because I thought, you know, he would come back ready to go.
But my my, my oh, my, he he looked awful in my opinion.
And I was gonna say, Thank God you owned up to you.
Missed a cause after you're gonna say that, Yeah, I mean, yeah, Grant doesn't need to run down the field.
Evident Grimm has injury problems, but like I said, he's the fastest tight end, fastest starting tight end in NFL, right? Who knows? Backup tight ends could be faster.
He's the fastest starting tight end in NFL Evan Engram.
He's running down the field.
Gronk is a target.
Just catch the ball.
He can't now let me understand.
Look, and I just want you guys to understand what I'm saying.
Ah, bad performance doesn't mean every Q B.
If you say every Q B had a bad performance, they don't all have to be 100 yards.
There's different expectations.
I know it was Week one, and it is a team that I'm gonna think is gonna win the Super Bowl.
Right? It is the Saints, right? They will win the Super Bowl, in my opinion.
But Brady, for me, is a bad performance based on one reason.
Right, because in terms of bad performances, like could say, let's say he wasn't no known as one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
And one of the, uh, let's say he's not named as the goat, right? Maybe just wanted to call his bad performance.
I just feel that because he has that reputation, he has the weapons.
At least we think he does.
I just feel like, you know, Okay, Sam Donald, for 60 yards, he had a bad performance.
If Brady throws for above 90 yards.
It's not a bad performance.
I feel like every kid is different.
Every player is different.
What do you think, Grant? Yeah.
I mean, I'm not gonna say much about Brady yet.
Yeah, his performance was pretty lackluster, but remember, he's been with the Patriots for 20 years.
This was his first game in the bug news uniform, going up against a fantastic defense in the States.
I say stuff, we got the best of them.
And Tom Brady definitely was getting frustrated midway through the third quarter.
And I felt like he was overthrowing receivers left and right.
But at the same time, we got to give them time, right, Because we're saying, Oh, the Buccaneers, that they're gonna go, you know, they're gonna make the Super Bowl right? You can't give up on them after just one week.
I think Brady will certainly, you know, put the switching.
Only be as good as he was last year. Okay, maybe not.
But I'd say the Buccaneers, they're still struggling.
A brave, in fact, still struggling, you know, it's like five weeks.
They seem to be like, Oh, what is Tom Brady again himself into? But I think in reality, it's just the first week he's gonna be all right.
Let's see what he does next week against Carolina.
And I think for someone like Brady, we've got to take a week by week before we can really start to, you know, breast size, how he's doing.
We gotta give him some time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
If I could just add in one more thing.
Yeah, I I agree with Grant. I mean, we have toe.
Consider he Brady.
Tom Brady? Yeah, he's been He's been on the Patriots his whole entire career with that same organization with the same coach and Bill Belichick.
This is a completely new team for him, and he didn't even get some preseason games with them.
He was just, you know, hey, was just put into the fire against, you know, the best team in the NFC, in my opinion, in the New Orleans Saints and, uh, s Oh, yeah, and I honestly thought he didn't play necessarily bad at times.
He he looked pretty good on some throws and showed that he still has it at times, not not on a consistent basis.
Bite means and and at other times.
Obviously, he was disappointing.
For the most part, it wasn't under one performance from him, but you have to look at the rest of the team.
And just just in example.
I mean, I know we're just talking about Brady, but you know, the defense of Tampa Bay.
They jumped on for fourth and two.
How often does that happen in Bill Belichick's coach team? You know, with the New England Patriots, you know Bill Belichick, the coaching matters and and Bruce Arians doesn't have a clue what what on earth he is doing.
And that that's that's a big problem.
And I think, um, I think the New England Patriots they were such a disciplined team and, you know, they rarely made mistakes from Tom Brady was there that they put Tom Brady in good positions.
Ah, lot of times, whether that was, you know, a good defensive stop or the, you know, the receivers helping him out.
I'm not saying by any means.
You know Tom Brady, you know, wasn't you know, the greatest quarterback of all time? Of course he was.
And we've seen that over the course of his career.
I'm just saying he's going into a team who? I mean, I don't know.
Their coaching is not there.
And, you know, even the receivers are are making bad mistakes.
The old line was awful.
They couldn't protect them.
So as the whole team, they just looked completely, completely like a complete mess.
And, you know, you never in in a rhythm or in sync, and, uh and so yeah, it will take time.
But with that being said, this team is too talented to play like this for, you know, you know, by the middle to the end of the season, I like to think that they will get it together because they're too talented.
Thio, you know, have you know those embarrassing performance this, uh, time and time again that I I like to think that they'll get it together eventually and that the talent well, ultimately pan out and get them victories and show that this is actually a good team.
So, yeah, it's just week one, but my oh, my.
That was a really bad showing from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the hole in the and not just Tom Brady, in my opinion, Yeah, I remember Mike Evans didn't have the hamstring injury he was dealing with.
I knew Evans was kind of messing up a couple routes and, you know, he only had one catch, which was that touchdown with three minutes left.
So, you know, I think one tell, you know, I think once Evans, you know, fully recovers.
I think Kim and Braves gonna be one of the best Q B y receiver jewels in the league.
But future will tell Grant, that's Ah ha! Take that.
You think Brady will thio Woolston last year? And that would be really surprising if that happens.
Hey, that's a prediction.
Let me tell you if that happens.
Because Brady was criticized a lot last year for doing bad and my reason and millions of other people's reasoning.
Maybe Sam was he didn't have the weapons.
Now, if he does worse than last year, maybe it's because of the offensive line, and that could be true.
I mean, he has the weapons. Just wow.
Anyway, we have a special pennst in.
Um, we're gonna thank you from coming in, Nathan.
And he's gonna also give his predictions.
Rick one in the NFL.
Sure, he's watching.
How's it going, Nathan.
How are you? You're coming on three.
The only thing that soccer is the Giants, I mean I mean, there, there, they made no improvements.
This off season, I think of I'm a Giants fan watch Monday night.
I mean, a t least Daniel John says that could throw in the second quarter to Slaten.
Daniel Jones showed us that he could do something I wasn't.
I didn't think last year was everyone loved him last year.
I guess it's only drying fans, so I don't Yeah, I'm a Giants fan and I thought they should have drafted a couple of years ago.
I thought he was the future during the draft, but they instead they waited and then they got him.
I mean, they should have got Josh Allen.
I think in that draft, if they could have picked him up, maybe with a trade, But at least they got sake sake.
Juan, That year I said on I said on my show NFL Sunday, that this is the last year for those.
I think it's the 2018 draft class to prove itself.
We had Baker, Mayfield who did terrible this weekend, and then you Josh Allen, who really proved himself as a player this year.
Uh, this Sunday.
Yeah, well, let me tell you, Giants, I was impressed.
Why was I impressed? They have one of the rules defense in the league, but they managed, and I say, managed, they I know they gave up more than 25 points, maybe 24.
They they did better than I expect, and that's not gonna make it suppresses.
The defense was bad, but against the Steelers team, who I somehow think is gonna make the Super Bowl.
And that's mainly because of the defense, which is the best.
The office I'm not see.
I'm winning my league.
Look, the offense is not Super Bowl Woolsey.
It's just a defense that's going to be so amazing this year and say, Okay, defense cannot kill you to a Super Bowl.
But if you have at least an above average a fence in a elite defense, which the Steelers have, you could take the Super Bowl and they do have an above average offense.
And I think the Giants in some way have to be happy with their defense, considering it's Week one.
And considering you're playing the dealers, what do you think, Nathan? I totally agree.
I mean, the Steelers are the best defense, but the Giants, their offensive line there were sacks to Daniel Jones.
I mean, I think they need to get a better offensive line, but let's see how they do next week.
I'm I wonder, who are they playing next week? I want to say the 49.
No, they're facing the Bears bears how they do against the Bears.
So now let's get to I'm gonna give a great performance.
And actually, no, I'm going to get one more bad performance and I'm going to give it to Michael's arms.
He said he had the injury look if he said he could play through week twos, injury, weak ones, injury was not a problem for him, and I think that has to be stated.
There's no way Week one injury could be any and the angel he has now because he's recovering right.
They play Monday night, so he has a few.
He has a week, right? He has a week through a cup, so I just feel like he could have done way better.
I know he had the injury, and I will admit that did affect him.
He should have still done better.
What do you think, Grant? Yeah, I agree.
I mean, we'll see what happens.
I think you will ultimately have a better week next week.
So yeah, we'll see. Yeah.
Now, I want you to give us one more bad performance.
Besides your Giants, were you really You know, it could be a defense and offense or specific player, any, you know, anything that stuck out.
That really was surprising.
But it was a bad performance.
Well, I think it has to go to Sam. Donald.
He lost some players, but I think again, this this is last year to prove everything.
And he did not do good. Sam.
Terrible performance against the Bills.
Now, let's get to our, uh, top five stars from week one.
I am going to stop Mike 12 5 stars from week one.
I'm gonna first start off with number one One of the nicest players in the National Football Association.
I was lucky enough to meet him a week before the Super Bowl.
His name is Josh Jacobs, easily the best running back from week 13 touchdowns.
I was happy to meet him in the offseason, not really the off season before the Super Bowl.
His season was over.
Josh Jacobs much respect for him because he took his time to meet with me.
He was a nice man.
He got three touchdowns.
Last year, I said he would be a top six running back this year.
Remember, we did the Teeler. Sam.
I said, He's a Pro Bowl running back and you said it's a little too early to, uh, to give my opinion.
Maybe it was a little too early, but I guess it was a prediction.
It's a prediction, right? Yeah.
So, again, that could be a two only prediction.
But I predicted it.
Maybe, yeah, I'll have my guys Ah, whisper to Maybe I only said that because I met him this offseason and I really like him.
But, hey, I don't focus on the Raiders that much, but may I? Ever since I met him, I started focusing on Josh Jacobs much more.
My second store and my first restores I'm gonna do the more obvious Davante Adams.
Boy, did this guy do good Top five receiver in the NFL again? Who knows? Maybe he could finish Ah, better than Michael Thomas This year.
We just don't know.
You know what Michael Thomas is State is at.
And plus, Emmanuel Sanders should lower his value a tiny bit.
It could be enough that DeAndre Hopkins could finish with better stats.
But anyway, if you look at Davante Adams, Rick one stats.
He had two touchdowns.
And look what was so amazing.
Some other Packers wide receivers had amazing games also, but obviously not as good as Davante Adams.
14 receptions, 156 yards.
Week one and to touch. Sounds like I said.
But there were other receivers. We did good.
Alan Lizard had poor receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown.
McRae's Val Valdez scanning had four receptions, 96 yards and a touchdown.
So as good as Davante Adams.
Did you think? Wow, you had 14 receptions.
So on Lee, you did anything to other receivers on the Packers had a big impact as well.
I think This is obvious for me.
Um, Russell Wilson.
I think we'll win. M v p. This year.
He's my M v P pick.
I know we didn't really talk about on the whole sports talk show at award predictions, but Russell Wilson is my M v P prediction, and I think this is the year.
You know he hasn't won m v p in his long career.
This is the year I think, the C ops or the second best NFC team.
They're gonna play the Saints in the NFC Championship.
The Saints will, when it could be an upset.
Won't be surprised if it is.
Here is the non so obvious ones.
I have two more, starting with mitral Robiskie.
He'd do no interceptions, which is impressive.
He you know, he's due for three, which is impressive.
Travis Key got the win against Alliance team.
The lions are not that good, but Mitra Robiskie was still impressed.
I just said this a few minutes ago about Tom Brady.
You know, if you say Oh, he did, he had a bad game.
You and I said, Oh, some people say a bad games 100 yards.
You can't have the same definition of a bad game for every player.
So for Mitchard, Robiskie, his stats for most players wouldn't be a good game.
But for Robiskie, that is a good performance.
And my fifth star.
This is gonna be surprising.
We'll see if Sam likes this Jerome Baker now.
I don't always have to include the Dolphins player in here.
Straighten the Gill Harry off a fumble.
I have never seen a Dolphins player everywhere on the field as much as Drone Baker.
I can't remember the last time literally Cam Newton was scrambling.
Edelman got a pass drone Baker number 55 on the back of his jersey.
I saw everywhere on the field.
He was everywhere.
Okay, really is underrated.
I agree with you 100% now.
I don't think he's underrated.
I think he's rated right.
He's starting to prove more than me, and I'm not the often fan.
But for week one, I think he was a star.
I'm gonna go to you, Sam, if you want to give a little feedback on that, because I know you watch your own Baker, obviously, because you watch the Patriots game in depth.
Now, if you just want How do you think Drone Baker was? I know remember Cam Newton's? Maybe it was his first touchdown drone.
Baker collided with him.
There's nothing drone Baker could do because he came from the left side of the field and again Camden was on the right side.
No, no, you're right.
I was actually a commentating.
The game on SportsCastr, bringing up his name, time and time again.
It was everywhere, man.
Hey was everywhere.
For sure he was.
He was, no doubt the Miami's best defensive player.
But with that being said, I don't know if he was, you know, one of the five best players over the weekend, although, you know defensive players do get disrespected when you know way.
Who went beyond expectations now? Josh Jacobs again, like Daddy could top six running back.
But that's still above expectations.
He did amazing, like usual.
That is a good performance.
I don't think that's a start.
I think you're on.
Baker went way over expectations.
That's why I put him on.
Yeah, no, no, that's good.
That's that's completely fair.
Yeah, he he was definitely, definitely very very impressive yesterday.
Our, uh, Sunday.
Rather, it's Tuesday already, but yeah, I I was definitely impressed by him.
Yeah, he was all over the field, no doubt about it and making an impact in this game.
But, you know, he couldn't carry the the whole Miami defense, though.
Yeah, the rest of Miami's defense is another story, but yeah, I Well, let me just give my opinion quickly.
I cannot say he didn't do good.
He did good, considering it was the Dolphins.
But why do I not say it's impressive? Because it's the Dolphins.
Now, the Dolphins have an amazing secondary, but you know, But you can't say Oh, this guy had a you know, you play good.
He didn't play great because he's facing, like, a trash team.
It's the way of the schedule works.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
What? The schedule? Based on that matchup, Cam Newton needs to show more than me because that's a bad deal. Yeah.
For more than has nothing to do with the the schedule.
And Cam Newton is gonna You know, he has an easy schedule that you just have a hard time, but My point is, and I cannot say Cam Newton did bad, but he did good.
I really am happy about the Patriots this year.
Cam Newton did good, but the Dolphins have an amazing secondary.
We know that, but Kyle Van Noy was just useless.
The Dolphins, first of all, the Dolphins secondary is so goodbye on Jones and Eggs, Avian.
Howard, they made zero place.
Yeah, Yeah, I agree.
Like because Cameron and scrambled a lot.
We expected that, but the Dolphins couldn't figure him out.
And again, the Dolphins have a terrible defensive line.
That's why I need to see more from him.
He was good, but I can't say he was really good, because I need to see him against a better defense week too.
They they are playing.
Ah, better defense.
If I could just chime in quickly, No doubt I'm interested to see, um, that that patriots Seahawks matchup in what Cam Newton can do versus them.
I I also I also just want to quickly mention the Patriots defense.
They exceeded my expectation on E I Yeah, I think obviously I discussed earlier house disappointed with Stefan Gilmore But, you know, J.
Jackson stepped up and Juwan Williams as well chase when a ***** made a big impact.
Thio s? Oh, yeah, I was.
I was impressed with New England defense.
Really Be interested to see how how if they can handle that explosive Seahawks offense on Sunday Night Football.
But going back to what you were saying, you know, I agree that you can't, you know, say too much about Cam.
Newton obviously was impressive.
You know, his first game playing in, like, a year as as a starter.
And it was impressive what he did for sure.
Uh, you know, and I thought as much as he was obviously good in the running game, which we expected, although I didn't, you know, see him or predict I I didn't predict for him toe run that many times.
I thought in the passing Game two, he was very accurate. For the most part.
He had a couple of of tip of tip passes, but that was that was really it.
And, you know, I thought Julian Edelman should have made a catch when Newton was spot on on the throat deep down and he didn't want people.
Yeah, and and but But I thought Cam Newton was very accurate in the passing game as well.
And I will say you can't say too much about it because it was against the Dolphins and the Dolphins aren't a good team, in my opinion.
But But I mentioned it to see what I'm interested to hear.
Why, why you are saying I agree that you can't take too much out of it because it was against the Dolphins.
But But in your particular case, is that you had you had the Dolphins winning this game.
So you're kind of against your own argument in this situation.
Let me also just say quickly, Can you release was pretty fast to Nunes release.
Yeah, the Dolphins.
Here's the thing the Dolphins did.
So you're saying against my argument because one of my reasons, all the Dolphins defense has improved.
But here's the thing Bryan Flores doesn't know.
No one knew what candidate would do.
That's why the Patriots had a big advantage.
I didn't know can do and run this ball this much.
That's what we I didn't think of that because no one a you could play the Seahawks weak one.
They might have beat the Seahawks.
The Seahawks are way better, But just because no one knew Bill Belichick had such an advantage this week because no one knew because against the first game without Tom Brady, no one knows.
Like you know, we never see the Patriot a Q B on the Patriots.
Run the ball like this, right? Yeah, but I expected.
Can't do Tonto right with the Patriots.
Had so many rushing yards besides Newton and the Dolphins would have eventually gotten Interception of Newton.
Would have thrown the ball at least 10 more times, but he didn't and I don't blame him, right? The running game was going, well.
White Pass it, but I'm not really going against my argument.
Fitzpatrick and I was watching ESPN Fitzpatrick for fantasy, for everything.
He went below expectations.
So Fitzpatrick actually was I had a higher projection than this.
You. So Fitzpatrick's bad.
This is expected? No, he was expected of a better game.
Like I said to A is currently better than Fitzpatrick.
The Dolphins just wanna wait till he's fully ready.
I say, Look, look, look.
You drafted him with the fifth overall pick.
If you draft most people in the first round, you want them to play the first season.
I'm not saying you won't play the first season, but seriously, I think the Dolphins might have one with two.
That, too, has nothing to do with the defense.
But the offense wasn't going mad.
Breeder Jordan Howard couldn't run the ball.
So then you have to turn it to throwing Mike.
And second couldn't get open again.
It's a good Patriots defense, so then you need a then you need to.
You can't put him.
You're not gonna have to make his debut in the middle of the game.
He's not a backup to be.
You're not having to endure in the middle of the game.
Here's my question to you, though.
Would you really start the guy you drafted fifth overall with no pre season and you're going up against the Patriots and Fox borrow? I don't I don't know if I would have done.
I agree with science, Fitzpatrick thinks was expected.
But obviously way couldn't predict them until their season is over.
Yeah, no, no one last thing. Sam.
Hey, I didn't say once Cam Newton was bad. He was good.
He didn't throw the long ball once like he didn't.
And I don't even say completed.
Why? Why would he? They didn't need thio.
It doesn't matter whether he needed to or didn't.
I'm just saying he didn't know whether he needed thio.
He didn't need to.
He didn't throw it.
Okay? Yeah, he was a And it's against about defensive line, so I just need to see more. Okay.
Yeah, I understand.
I'm saying just by your standards, you were You were expecting the dolphins to win this game.
So And you said that like all of us, we didn't We didn't know what to expect from the Patriots.
So the fact Newton put on this performance, you know what? What was? It was impressive.
And I'm not sold on the fact that if to have played, the dolphins would have one.
Maybe it would have been closer, but I'm just not sure.
And this game could have been a whole another story when Nikkila Harry, By the way, he was very disappointing.
Um, and this could have been a whole different story when Nikkila Harry, you know, was diving for the for the pylon into the end zone and he fumbled at the one in it, fumbled in the fumble, went into the end zone for a touchback that could have easily been 21 of three.
Miami went down the other way.
Well, that's the same.
That's the same for when Fitzpatrick They were down by a touchdown and threw an interception over the middle and they were at midfield.
No, no, no, no, no.
My only point here.
It was, you know, a different a different argue.
My only point here was it was good that the Patriots, you know, didn't choke the game away at that point when they were only up by three points and could have easily collapsed at that moment.
They, you know, they overcame adversity and bounced back the next driving and got two touchdown, which eventually one of the game.
And listen, the Patriots are gonna play super well every game.
They're just not talented enough to do that.
They're gonna have to grind out results and, uh, and and face adversity especially, you know, with with the schedule they have two of the next three games are at Seattle at Kansas City.
And so that's when that can.
Newman is gonna have to throw the long ball.
They're gonna be down, and both of them have Good defense is well, I could tell you at the end of week Dio at Camden is a good kid.
You're not when I see is good, okay, he's he's at least average.
You can't do what? He took his team to the Super Bowl, and he's been good since.
You didn't good.
Since you, he hasn't really been good since.
He's e mean, Yeah, I wouldn't have been good since, but I got I think we're forgetting the fact they literally hasn't played in a year.
I mean, I'm still pretty impressed, and maybe, you know, sure he should have.
Maybe you went for a long ball deep past, you know, late in the game when it looked like New England did have the Game one.
But I mean, in reality, I felt like Newton just did enough to win.
And I felt like, you know, he wanted to, you know, run the ball.
He wanted to do what was safe for him And obviously you know Josh McDaniels.
He knows what he's doing.
So overall, pretty good when I say Kim, they didn't throw the long ball.
I don't want you guys to think that I'm saying that he should have done it.
I'm saying that that's a different side of the game that I want to see you do? That's what I mean, right? Because there's two sides you could say, Oh, he didn't use his brains until the long ball.
Or then he could say, Which is the one? I mean that I don't know how good he is.
It that now, Sam, could we agree? On one point, Sam Federman agreed with me on this.
And if he agreed on me with this Oh, boy, you better greet me on this.
That was a flag in the end zone for down with, like, a second.
Oh, yeah, Yeah, it definitely waas it doesn't really that it was obvious.
Yeah, And hey, Brian Floors was mad, but there was told me so much he could dio I mean, whatever narrow what? Sam, quickly.
If there was any stars that you had that I didn't name Yeah, sure.
I'll just go over a few.
That I was that I was definitely improved.
I'll start off with, uh, with Aaron Rodgers.
I mean, he Yeah, he played lights out, and you could tell that he wanted not necessarily toe to prove the Packers wrong.
But he wanted Thio to make it well known thio Green Bay that they made a mistake in, uh, in drafting Jordan love, uh, in the in the first round of the draft.
And by the way, the packers didn't, uh, didn't draft any wide receivers either.
And, uh, and obviously you talked about Davante Adams earlier.
They don't have many more weapons.
They obviously do with with, you know, Walda scant ling and stuff, but but they're very they're relatively thin at that position.
And the fact that, uh, Aaron Rodgers put up the numbers he didn't and performed like he did on Sunday was very impressive.
Because I'm one of those people who thought Aaron Rodgers Well, he he has been on the decline, and, uh, it has been disappointing, you know, kind of an average quarterback the last few seasons, despite, you know, the fact that Green Bay made the NFC championship game last season.
But this this was, you know, an Aaron Rodgers in his prime type of performance.
And, uh, that was a statement game for him.
I definitely thought it was a very impressive week.
One performance going elsewhere, I think.
I know it wasn't, you know, a phenomenal performance from Hopkins, but it was his first game in the new organization.
I think he fits into that Arizona team, and the NFC West is a very intriguing division to me because there's not one team that divisions and that division that's necessarily bad.
And Arizona, you know, pulled off a big victory over the San Francisco 40 Niners on Sunday.
And DeAndre Hopkins had had a impressive performance.
In my opinion, him and Kyler Murray seemed to be on the same page right away.
And, uh, and I think DeAndre Hopkins fits into that Arizona team.
That Cardinals team could be a team to look out for this season, for sure, and I definitely could see them being a wild card team and making the playoffs and then one last player.
Now I want to shout out that we haven't really discussed yet is Joe Burrow.
I mean, I think, you know, obviously he was phenomenal in college with L S U.
But it's always that, you know, it's always a big step going from college to the NFL, and some players just can't handle that pressure.
And some, you know, first.
Overall picks have been ableto have that good of a career, and I know it's his first game of his NFL career.
But I thought Joe Burrow looked really good against the Chargers in this game, and and he was impressive and just looking.
E no, the Bengals ultimately lost, but looking at that last drive of the game, Joe Burrow led the team down the field, and he basically put the two minute drill to perfection to put the Bengals in great field goal range.
And obviously, the kicker absolutely blew that game, sending it wide right and the game would have gone to overtime.
But it seems right off the bat, at least from his week one performance that Joe Burrow is ready for the NFL, and, uh, and with that Cincinnati team, maybe he could get a couple of wins with them.
He'll have to get used to losing.
You know more than winning, obviously, which is something a big adjustment for him, considering he, you know, never lost at L s U and won a national championship with them.
But I think there's a bright future there for Joe Burrow.
And, uh, you know, there was that great rushing play he had when he ran the ball and for his for his first touchdown into the end zone.
He looked good in the passing game, for the most part.
And yeah, the big moment in that game for me was the the last two minutes where with no timeouts left, by the way, he made it look easy going down the field.
It's a big difference in college, by the way, in college, as a quarterback in offense, you get a little bit of help because the time stops on every first down and they don't restart it until you're set at the line of scrimmage again.
It's not like that in the NFL, and I thought Joe Burrow did a great job managing the clock and bringing his team down the field, and he did everything he could dio.
It was up to the kicker who absolutely blew that game away, or else the Bengals could have had a chance.
Thio himself Unfortunately, well, I mean, maybe.
But what were just doing that for the show? Saying, Try the trying to make us feel to make us think he got injured.
I'm not saying he didn't get injured, but I don't know.
He immediately went to it and then, I don't know, maybe he was looking for an excuse, but I'm not saying he waas.
I don't know if it was a really you're not.
But but yeah, what? One for you, Sam? Sure, and it's it's quickly before you move onto your next one.
Did Cam Newton really need to have that skull flocked? End of the game Week one That's already putting bad vibe.
Bill Belichick? I'm just asking like, No, listen, e Dolphins were acting.
Cam Newton explained.
What? But can you didn't have to be held back? He was the one that couldn't stuff, you know that.
But he explained, and they were.
They were. They were.
They were trying to rip off his chains, which which, you know, I mean a lot. Tim he has.
He has his Children's name on it and with their birth chain chain with traction, He could he could get his neck hurt with the chain.
I mean, that's a spa.
I would baseball.
It's one thing, But with football could come in trying to get him.
And then, boom, you keep taller than him and you get him by the neck and boom.
Yeah, e you know, Do you know that that wasn't the reason he got in that scuffle? Do you know that? Yes, it was.
He literally said, Oh, he got caught.
You got caught in the same boat granted on those.
Grant was joking.
You got caught, Sam.
Did he not listen to his postgame conference? I did.
And he said that was the reason why.
No, no, they know they try.
He admitted that he made Instagram Post that they try to take it, but that's not how they got in the scuffle.
Obviously, program post stuff in like this.
Uh, I know it's like they tried to steal my necklace and my winner e got in.
The scuffle was a landing.
Roberts got a big hit on him, and what he didn't like was because he was on the Patriots Astor.
That was the initial reason.
Initial reason they got in the scuffle.
I don't think it's the big deal because you know, Cam Newton.
Clearly, the Dolphins were getting under his skin, and you know this.
Some of them were really annoying him and and, yeah, clam route.
It's not good at, you know, for you to want someone that's legal, you know, that's not a penalty.
I agree with you, in a sense, but when they're trying to rip off your chain and I agree, I don't think you know e that vibes in there because Bill Belichick is not the type of Q B that wants to deal with that.
Listen, I'm just It's already done above and beyond for noon.
I think he's willing to stick up for him if he falls in another one of these situations.
I just hope Newton doesn't keep this up because because I'm rooting for him to stay in New England.
Let me ask you if he's ****.
Electric doesn't like it, though.
Whether it continues that coach with, like his play again as scuffle at the end of the game, no coach is gonna like that bell check more than others know that completely true, Because some coaches, like one players, you know, know something which is like, Isaac.
All I'm saying is is, you know, for we we saw with the crab with the Crabtree and to lead incident where they got into a whole fight because, you know, uh, toe leave ripped Crabtree's chain off.
So for those guys that I you know that that's that's valuable to them, and it means a lot of them.
You know, I I don't know why Cam Newton, you know, and some of these players have to wear a chain while they're playing.
You know, I I think that's a little bit silly, but Canyon does.
And if you're the Dolphins players, that's just crossing the line when you're trying, when you're trying to rip that off, when it clearly means a lot for Cam Newton.
So I can understand Cam Newton's frustration and stuff like that.
But I'm just I'm just saying, you know, the dolphins cross the line in that aspect and so I can understand why wouldn't let out where you plan out.
Look, look, this We have to understand I'm not backing up the Dolphins.
The Dolphins didn't plan out.
Step a rip off his necklace.
They first thought they were trying to push him job.
I'm not I'm not the dolphins.
I'm not saying that they were purposely taking off his necklace, but let's say they will.
Did they think that that meant a lot to him? They may be.
Why? Why would they have time to think about that? Well, they do something like that.
To begin with is just kind of a Exactly.
But well, listen, even even if you know we have different opinions on this, I don't think it was a big deal at all, considering you know what happened, Uh, in that situation.
And second of all, even if my question wasn't even if all right, Yeah, I Yeah, I think doesn't bad vibes in the I think it does.
Yeah, but you know what? What's what's your meaning when you say that? Because let me say it.
Let me say something for a second.
You say that Bill that Bill Belichick won't like that? What is he going to do? Bench Cam Newton can play in place to them.
I mean, it's just thistles.
The Q B Cam Newton is.
We know that we've seen to that right now we build magic and deal with anyone except Josh Corn.
We know that, um, when the canyon is a different place.
Although we knew can't we knew Bill Budget will let him run the ball.
Bill Belichick would have to adjust.
But what we did, we knew.
Look, yeah, he's not gonna drop him.
He's not gonna bench him.
But my point was can't Bill Belichick.
He's not gonna let him have let this happen every week.
Not the same situation, but doing something.
That's my point.
Yeah, What a big deal.
Bill Belichick Canyon is willing to listen to Bill Belichick and a about growing punches and getting ejected.
Then it's no, no big deal at all.
Hey, was gonna let's be realistic.
He was probably Grant.
Let me ask you, Was he probably gonna throw punches if they didn't hold him back? I'm gonna guess.
Yes, I'll be honest.
I'm gonna guess. Yes.
I wouldn't say exactly throw punches.
I would say it would have got upto face and started yelling at them.
That I definitely think would have happened.
I don't think it would have punched him.
I think it just would have been, like a ah, stare off pretty much.
And you know that eventually, after, like a brief moment, Then the Patriots try pulled Newton away.
I don't think there's gonna be any physical harm.
I think it just would have been a lot of trash talking.
Let's just say this.
I would have felt after the NFL films, guys who would have had a bleep half of that stuff out.
Let's just what did you guys see? The tweets, though, after the game about all the Dolphins carbon noise, shock loss.
And they're all saying, we don't want your cheap necklace.
We just want you to We just want you.
Yeah, I did see Shaq Lawson say something along the lines of that on instinct.
What is it? Course there's nothing other opinions, you know, each of them.
They're all going to come up with their own reasons why, you know, they didn't really like each other, but this is what happened.
The necklace situation was not the spark because the hit got them together.
But then they pulled the necklace.
And if you saw the the social media videos of the Necklace poll that was in the huddle of the ball, not the ball but the get together, You know what I'm saying? So I'm saying the landing Roberts hit probably got Cam Newton mad and he got even more mad.
Listen, we're just wasting time talking about this.
It's not a big great Why? Let's move on, Nathan.
What? What? Who? Your stars from week one? Well, Newton's on their judicious Schuster's on there.
I could I could put se Kwan, But first, I'm gonna go with Harman's.
Barkley played horrible adult.
Barkley had some runs.
I mean, he made a couple nice hurdles, but other than a couple of hurdles, I don't know, he wasn't really that good.
Yeah, I got this ready for you.
Big band at Rush.
You say you had a good game? I think he did.
I'm being seriously Yeah, he thinking about 40 yards in the receiving game.
He got a lot of passes, man.
He was out on that.
I was watching that game.
He was out in that in the coming from the back field.
He was getting a lot of receptions, taking away reception from Evan Engram, who I should have named earlier.
He was another bust or, I should say, underperformer from Week one.
Yeah, Ingram is not good at all, but I mean, my first would be.
I could put a juju Smith Schuster on there.
I think he had a great game.
He's turning into the juju Smith Schuster, as they said on the broadcast that he was a couple of years ago.
He's got no distractions.
It's just him in Big Ben, By the way, I would have put the corn Buckley Uh, Grant, what about you underperformer Still Because oh, yeah, a week one.
But we saw how atrocious the Giants are flying.
Truly, e uh, Steelers defense beats out any offensive line.
So it is hard now.
Here's the thing.
You did good from the receiving end, but again, his main.
He's not called a passing back.
Not that he can't get passes, but his main thing is privacy.
Run the ball. He's a good joker.
That's why he just underperformed because he's supposed to go.
But he got Steelers defense.
Where you gonna dio? And it's a giant offensive line.
I mean, we saw how you know, bunch of pre TJ Vince Williams.
Name the Steelers linebacker.
They're Justin Jones.
Face like, two seconds after you hike the ball for crying out loud.
And Barkley, he just couldn't get anything going, because again, it's just the Giants offense.
It just looked lost.
And I hope Andrew Thomas can save that offensive line.
Because how did he do, Nathan? I didn't again.
It's so I feel bad.
Offensive lineman's don't get highlighted.
The announcers brought him up and they said, you know, this was a top five pick in the NFL draft.
Uh, maybe maybe he was six or seven years.
Probably talk, huh? All right, um, and, you know, they spot him out.
They said this is his first NFL game.
He was a top pick in the draft, but they don't show big place.
So maybe he didn't even noticed anything about him.
Just because they don't show him.
How do you think he did with one? I think he was okay.
I mean, he is a Rocky.
He could have made a couple of plays there but solid performance.
And it was a tough week.
One matchup, obviously for his debut.
So give them credit for that.
Any more players that we're gonna go back to.
I'm sorry I skipped him for his last few.
I think I think we I think we as a whole.
We all hit most other ones.
What I said and what he's e the Steelers defense did great.
Um, but yeah, those e could pull in. Russell Wilson.
I think he had a pretty good performance over the weekend.
Josh Jacobs, As you said, Um, but yeah, grand on to you.
You could put going them into on I won't even have a small you already know.
I got Minshew on.
You already know? Sure, the past.
Like I said, Sure, the passing guys wearing a lot.
But overall, you played wicked fishing.
Um, I'll just quickly we pretty much talked about all these guys, so I'll just quickly go over mine at number five.
I got missed, Robiskie.
I felt like he did Well, you know, a lot of people are favoring the lions to win that one.
I didn't pick the bears and, you know, it was good to see ***iskey have a good game.
And I don't know these proof for the time being that he's the right choice over Nick balls.
That was kind of good to see.
Oh, yeah, but then for T.
J what we just mentioned the Steelers defense.
He and Cameron Heyward.
I know two very unexpected Steelers.
They get interceptions against Daniel Jones, and overall again, I think they want.
But to pre great job in the past rush last night at three. I have Josh Jacobs.
I mean, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say the Panthers win this game.
I might replace Jacobs.
That was a running back, dual, very even game.
Raiders pulled out the end of Josh Jacobs.
Very impressive with three touchdown performance.
Yeah, I got Gardner Minshew again.
One incompletion, three touchdowns.
Cults were projected to win that game by like, 10 points or something.
And the fact that you know Menchu and the defense just collaborating.
The fact I mean, you're just getting players involved like Levinsky.
Chanel keeling coul d j h Arc.
They're doing this without Dede Westbrook.
I mean, overall.
Pretty impressive day for Minshew.
Hopefully, I'm inhumane.
E is back and number one, I gotta give it to DeAndre Hopkins, And I guess Davante Adams to that.
They were both very impressive.
I'm gonna get the slight edge towards Hopkins simply because first game is a cardinal.
You're going up, in my opinion, a top three defense in the NFL.
And you were just catching pass after pass after past 14 catches for over 150 yard I thinking Kyler Murray are I mean, I think it is just the beginning for those two.
As I could agree with what Sam said about the Cardinals potentially being a lot of car team, it wouldn't shock me one bit s Oh, yeah, that was gonna be my top five in that order.
And I would love to give our will Mentions to Russell Wilson with a four touchdown day against the Falcons.
He played pretty well.
Yeah, I actually e later actually owns inaudible.
Yeah, definitely. Yeah.
No, I just want to bring out one thing We'll move on from then I found there.
We've been talking about that all show.
Look, I disagree with these power rankings.
Just because you're one in week one doesn't mean you should be on these powers.
But Ram shouldn't be close to top 10.
The Steelers should definitely be on top 10 even if you don't have them making the Super Bowl.
What? 98% of the United States don't have them making the Super Bowl. Of course.
But even if you don't have them making the super which again? 99% don't have them.
You still there? A top 10 team.
But the Rams, the tight end shouldn't be at eight, you know.
Okay. 1234 OK, top four.
Yeah, Packers have five by barking ears.
I would still put in the top 10 even after their loss.
I'd still put them there, Um, a going down the list, starting with Sam.
Any problems with this? And I'm sure you guys are organizing the Rams.
I mean, yeah, I'm fine.
I'm fine with the top five, but are actually yeah, I'm even though the 40 Niners lost.
I'm still okay with them at 67 Buffalo. Fine.
I'd put I bumped Tennessee down, Um, for sure that that was a little bit of, ah, sloppy wind last night, A crazy game.
And we can talk about Gostkowski another time.
But that that was E.
Said the Patriots were better off keeping him as a backup.
I think it would be this bad.
I said he hold the chicks last year, but again, we didn't know how value would be. That's an injury.
He played through it.
Yeah, I'd probably Yeah, I don't have too many issues with it, but I definitely bumped Tennessee and, uh, just ask Number one.
What was funny about the Tennessee Denver game last night and Steve Levy, he said right before Gostkowski's first kick that he's a Hall of Famer.
And then he went on to to miss three field goals and an extra point.
Wait, how are you going to say that guy? Okay, let's take a look at great kicker from the past that currently are in the Hall of Fame.
It's like Okay, who's a punter? Okay, I'm gonna do it.
Very Morten Andersen.
He was second all time points.
He's in the Hall of Fame than they have Ray Guy who was a hunter and also my man Cheung Vendetta should be in the Hall of Fame.
Another great Justin Tucker Tucker's now.
No, But let's place like military.
No kicker's gonna make the Hall of Fame outside military.
I literally think military.
Maybe Gary Anderson Onley Three kickers are gonna make the next one is robots or Justin robots.
Or the first, the first quicker drafted the first kicker drafted in the 2020 draft.
Hey, you should be You're the first kick of draft anyway.
Uh, so besides, who should you a place with the Titans if you bump them and probably the Rams, You wanna take office? Well, yeah.
Um, that's That's the big question.
I'm trying to think.
I think I might know.
Yeah, like the Texans still should be on here.
I'm not sure, but I maybe put the cardinals at 10 maybe.
Look, I I put one out of these few teams I'd either put the cowboys, Eagles, Texans or coats on you in the top 10. Wow.
And those air four teams, I definitely wouldn't that I would probably replace the rest of the Cardinals at 10 and probably place the times with the Steelers that a keep the Patriots at nine.
And I think the rest still looks pretty good.
Yeah, that's just May.
I wouldn't put the Arizona Cardinals, and yet I would put like, I feel like the Cowboys are just Yeah, there's a good team.
I feel like what? Accent? So cowboys or egos? One of those, Maybe not the coats, but Cowboys egos or Texas is one of them will do better than the corners this year, so maybe they deserve to be up there above the corners.
That's tough. It's close.
The Steelers I have to put up here.
I definitely but that that 10 spot right? We put the Patriots at eight.
Steelers at nine at 10.
I want to go with one of those three teams over the corners.
Hey, the way the entry Hopkins Carla Morial playing is great.
They, you know. But a Baker is good on defense.
The Cardinals just need a figure like it's the fund you more against DeAndre Hopkins, who's outside DeAndre Hopkins theory.
Fitzgerald can't really do that much.
Uh, Justin Kurtz, a beast is it. Beast.
No, Christian Kirk is wicked. Underrated.
That's just my opinion.
But anyway, uh, the coroner results off the defense.
They do have butter, Baker, but the defense is just sloppy.
I can't wait to see how he does this year.
See, he did pretty good last year.
Considering his age, obviously.
So then, Grant, I know you had a few up there.
Were those the ones you're gonna name? Oh, yeah.
I was thinking Cardinal Steelers, maybe the Cowboys.
Uh, I'd say, Honestly, the Jaguars miraculously be Tennessee next week.
Maybe not top 10 or top 15.
That's only if they win next week, though.
Dolphins, maybe we'll see.
I don't think so.
I got confidence that they could beat the lions of kosher.
I got confidence and they could be a lot of teams.
I didn't think, But maybe that's just a one week wonder.
E is gonna answer all the questions against the tight.
The Colts have a lot of death that the wide receiver position this year.
I'm Pittman T y Hilton uh, Paris Campbell.
Yeah, there's a lot I know they had depth at the running back position.
He's not playing.
And then Jonathan Taylor.
But anyway, Philip Rivers, I feel like it was going to do decent.
But I guess I mean, the Jaguars defense is not that good.
No, not that great.
But they got the job done.
I can't complain.
I can't I can't fall asleep on Michael Thomas.
I can't say he won't need the NFL and receptions.
And, uh, yeah, yeah, it's just week one, right? Right.
That's why we gotta play a week by week.
We especially do these power rankings.
Just got to play it week by week.
I mean, if he goes four straight weeks where he plays like this, then you can't really catch up.
I know you're Michael Thomas, who could get a 20 reception game.
You're not really gonna catch up anyway.
Let's move on, Sam.
You got your Celtics jersey on J T? Yeah.
You know, I'm going to give my opinion on this, but I'll give it to you first.
That this is this is gonna be a heck of a Siris.
It's gonna be really entertaining.
I think this is the first time since like the nineties that neither the one or two seed in the Eastern Conference is in the is in the conference finals.
So it's a it's a golden opportunity for for for both teams, Thio to make the MBA finals.
No, no doubt about it.
And and, yeah, I I think this is gonna be a very entertaining Siri's.
I I have the Celtics in six.
I wouldn't be surprised, though, if it went seven.
Gordon Hayward is out tonight, but he is expected to come back later on in the Siri's.
And if the Celtics do get back Gordon Hayward, which I'm assuming they will, maybe in the middle of this Siri's, that will be a huge added benefit to this team.
He just adds Mawr two to the Celtics team, and, uh, and I think ultimately, ah, lot of what it's gonna come.
What it's gonna come down to is, uh, if Marcus Smart can shut down Jimmy Butler, then the heat are gonna have ah lot of issues, and also it's unlikely that the heat will cool down from three.
Obviously, there are really good three point shooting team.
But But the problem is, Miami don't really have that big of a variety.
Obviously, they don't only shoot threes, but I feel like I feel like the Celtics can make shots from anywhere on the floor.
And they have a lot of a lot of guys who can make shots like Jalen Brown, like Jason Tatum, like Kemba Walker.
I think Walker needs to perform big in this Siri's.
And also I think the Celtics defense just might be able to cool down the Heat because Boston have 11 of the best perimeter defense is in the league so Boston can can shut down the outside shooting in particular from Miami.
Then he could have a lot of trouble on offense and then on the on the offensive end for Boston.
When when Jalen Brown, Jason Kemba Walker all playing well, they're nearly there, nearly unstoppable.
And, uh, and the Celtics did.
When you're looking at this matchup from the regular season, the Celtics did did get the better of the heat, Uh, 2 to 1 was the Siri's score.
Over the course of the regular season, the heat did win the the most previous meeting, which was in the bubble at the tail end of the regular season.
But the Celtics did shoot better from the field, and and they averaged about eight or nine more points than the in the regular season.
So I think the Celtics just match up better than the Heat.
And the problem for Miami is that they can't bear down on Yannis and shut him down.
Don't get me wrong.
The Heat, The Heat did great in in, uh, in guarding Yannis and really, you know, shutting him down and ultimately winning that syriza than five.
Because we all know that without Yanis producing the Bucks don't have much else going for them.
But the problem is, you can't walk down on one guy if you're in Miami, because the Celtics have so many players who can, who can, Who can make shots from really anywhere on the floor? Whether it's you know, from from the perimeter or in the paint and, uh, and and also the Celtics, the Celtics defense, I think they could really come a big, you know, if Tice performs how he did in the last Siri's and if the perimeter defense is locked down, Uh is, you know, able to lock down the Miami Heat in this game, Then then then he could have some travel on offense, and and we all know what the Celtics can provide at the other end before on offense themselves.
So I just think Boston ultimately will be too much to handle for Miami because this is the whole whole different matchup for the Heat.
But I think it will be a heck of a Siri's and whoever wins it, they're gonna have toe grind out the Siri's win because these air two really good teams going at it for sure and the Heat are in the conference now, you said, You know what gives the Celtics so good that you know, you know, they could make you know their bench players can make shots so everywhere.
But why there is such a good matchup is the Heat dio the Celtics in the oh, the top beauty.
That's gonna be such a good matchup.
We'll let me just say something that the heat have better death.
They do know the sell. The Celtics.
They don't have much of a bench at all.
they've been playing with a six man rotation.
For the most part, I'm saying the starting lineup for the Celtics, um, is what is what I'm focusing on? Obviously, it's a little bit.
That's the extra your But it'll be a great Siris for sure.
E is the second best defensive center in the NBA.
We know that behind Rudy Gobert, they could even be tied.
You know, bands not known for his offensive skills, right? You don't need to and you have the heat who shoot threes and you have Butler drives to the basket.
Number one player, Tice.
He had a good Siri, but so Joe Baca and Marcus saw they're not really that could have centers bam on a really good defensively.
So its ties gonna let **** shut him down.
And also on the defensive side of things for Thais, its ties going to start and bam because bam is stoppable when he's on offense.
We know that right? Bam's not good offensively, but maybe tights won't even be able to stop bam on offense because band won't get the ball a lot, right? Because the heat now the second Kemba Walker and I know you could invent this Sam Kemba Walker.
He is gonna be a key because we know he means a lot second key player.
You know, Celtics and more of a Celtics have more of a bench.
I think they're gonna win.
Okay, so that's your prediction.
Are there more of a bench? You know, Tyler, Hugo has turned himself that.
I think he's gonna be a starter next year of going Dragic Leaves and free agency, which I don't know if he will.
He likes to heat.
He's best friends with Jimmy Butler.
They're they're the best friends on the Miami Heat.
But be finally, you have to go through Nathan.
So if you want to give that little recap before you go and we're gonna wrap this up right after this anymore, give my opinion on Syria's quick after anything goes.
Yeah, we owe I have 10 10 minutes.
We're gonna go to Grant, cause I know he has to leave him.
Yeah, Well, I was just going to quickly say it, and I think you guys make out pretty good points.
I will say this.
I think if the Heat win the winning six that the Celtics win the series.
They'll win seven overall.
Yeah, because I think overall, especially in Corn, Hebert comes back in the middle of that syriza.
I think he is going to fill in such a huge rolling.
I mean, I've been watching a majority of the Celtics playoff games, and I know when Jalen Brown gets on a roll, he can really perform well and the same thing with Jason.
Um, I think Tatum has definitely improved over the past couple years, and he is now a great three point shooter.
I do like what what band has done on defense for Miami? I think he's a one of the best defensive players in the game.
But overall, I think if you're the Heat, you're going to be relying on Jimmy buckets.
I think of Jimmy Butler.
If he has one or two off games and you know Marcus Smart covers him well, I think I would give the clear advantage to Boston to, because I also think the Celtics do have more of a bench than the heat as well.
It will certainly be an interesting Siri's.
I can't wait for it, but yeah, I would just say the heat ago when I predict they'll be in six.
That boss is gonna win.
I'll say in seven. Yeah.
Now you know why they were gonna be at such an advantage, Sam, if Kemba Walker doesn't do good, because guess who they're gonna put guarding Kemba Walker? None other than running the best defensive players in the NBA.
Can you guess who it is? Yeah.
He is stillborn defense.
And if Kemba Walker is not making shots, they'll put him on in because Kemba Walker is the smallest player on the Celtics, right on the starting line.
And Kemba Walker veteran.
But Duncan Robinson could definitely make threes off.
First of all, Marcus Smart and Tatum Could God really anyone right? We know that now.
He can drive to the basket.
That, but looking out, Yeah, I was going to say this outsmart Marcus. Smart.
But look, talking smart really has been amazing.
Grete, I agree with you.
Heat went in six or the Celtics one and seven.
Guess what? I don't have a prediction for the Heat or Celtics winning.
But my prediction is I have to give a prediction if the Heat, when it's in six.
If the Celtics win, it's in seven.
So you say, then are you predicting the heat to win? Because they're winning in a lesser amount of games.
I just feel like he don't go seven games.
The heat just don't go seven games the Celtics doing.
They're good at it.
So I'm not saying that he will win because I don't know.
Kimble welcome, baby.
On his A game he may not be will probably lock down Thais, but then Marcus Smart's gonna break out.
There's always one or the other, right? Marcus Smart had an amazing Siri's.
When Kemba Walker did that, there's always one or the other's.
So anyway, this is gonna wrap up this.
Thanks so much, Nathan, for coming on.
We really appreciate anything you want to say.
Before you go, we appreciate you for coming on.
Well, I'm sure just a little tease here.
I'm, uh if you want, you can listen to my podcast.
It's the NSN sports podcast.
Wherever you get your podcasts, they always say Spotify on her radio.
I'm gonna have a very special guest coming on this Saturday so you won't want to miss.
And also, um, I have a show on SportsCastr.
It's called NFL Sunday.
And, uh, check me out on Instagram and SSN Sports.
Thanks so much, Nathan.
So, by the way, Sam, you said this is the first time in a, ah, few years Got to eat or playing the Celtics.
Right? Remember only a few years ago, but the Marlins were playing the Red Sox today.
We're playing the Red Sox.
We know the Marlins gonna win that.
The Marlins are not running on luck anymore. They beat.
They won a seven game Siri's five out of seven games against the Phillies.
We're not running on luck anymore, But just because the Marlins would doesn't mean that you're gonna win.
The Celtics are a great team on the Celtics, but when they play the heat, their bad.
The Marlins are playing the Red Sox.
I'm gonna be watching that game.
I'm glued to the Marlins more than the heat, But it's the East Finals, baby.
I'm gonna have to shut off that **** Marlins game and Plus, I want to finally see how bad the Red Sox are.
E Well, I really have to shut out that TV and watch the heat.
I'm gonna have to learn how to.
Or you could just slip during commercial breaks.
Yeah, in the model E O.
Uh, the Red Sox were not good against the velocity pictures.
And I can tell you if there was no Red Sox are in general.
You know what? The 2nd 3rd team in the league, you can forget about it if you're the Red Sox.
This? Yeah, Just Hey, yeah, 11 more thing on on the on the Celtics.
I definitely think Jason Tatum can if the Celtics, you know, get to the finals and even when it Jayson Tatum can become, you know, one of you know, the elite stars in this league, and, uh, I'm you know, I'm really interested to see how Tatum does this Siri's because he is something special, that's for sure.
And just one last thing on the Celtics.
Three of the last four years, they've made it to the Eastern Conference finals.
They've lost all three times.
I really think e I think you know that the Celtics have been here time and time again and they just haven't been able to get to the Finals.
I really think this is the year they break through, but But we'll see.
I mean, the Celtics there, Why didn't say I'm that this is the year Like the Heat.
Other strongest, they've been in a while.
That's like, This is such They know what I'm saying.
Like usually I wanna hurt Boston teams.
I want to see the dogs.
But when I wanna say that that Sam's favorite teams are bad, But how can I say that he was gonna win? When? I don't know.
Kemba Walker is playing like trash, but he's had a few days off.
First of all, who knows how they either gonna play? You see two people on different sides, and I'm gonna ask Grant this first and it could go either way and it could show to go either way, Does a week off help or doesn't help a team now use the heat an example, because different teams were different for the heat, you know, they're shooting for him could get off.
They were they They've been eight and one in the playoffs, and they want to continue that street.
They usually they, you know, they waited, like, three days for the Bucks to finish.
This has been a little over a week already to play the Celtics.
So do you think it's gonna help or ruin them? You know, I think you know, at first it might, you know, throw him off.
Like, I think the Celtics might win game one tonight.
But then I'm pretty sure the Heat will play far superior and make sure that they, in fact, win Game two.
If they do play a little bit Rusty tonight, I wouldn't be shot.
But yeah, I feel like you know them.
Then they should come out even stronger in Game two. That's just my opinion.
But I don't know.
Yeah, it should be an interesting Siri's.
But, you know, it really is a really good question in any sport.
Really does. Oh, does, you know, arrest.
You know, should you, you know, emphasize the rest over preparation Or like, what do you do here? Especially when you're in the Eastern Conference finals with the NBA playoffs? You really don't wanna mess around at the same time.
Some pictures your players.
You know, Obviously your players are prepared mentally and physically, so you don't wanna wear him out during practice.
And it's kind of a tough call if your coach okay, who dollars stands.
My team that somehow made the Stanley Cup.
Well, anyway, they Ben Bishop, I don't know each other well, all I know Ben Bishop, their goalie and when we did, uh, it's like a dove in just absolutely stripped that starting job from him. Absolutely.
Bender job has been horrible.
On what the two or three playoff games e say.
Look, I I had him as my top five goalie heading into next.
Maybe I moved in the city because I put my bras get in there.
Um, I said he's gonna be a toxic going next year.
It's not next year yet, but I watched a few stores games and I was looking.
Who's that neck? Because that's the only player to play attention.
And there's a guy name not that up in the back that Antoine could Jovan and dove in former Bruin and Hurricanes.
I I honestly so happy for him and you know, been, honestly, one of my all time favorite job, like like a special way.
And, you know, obviously the man has been so underrated.
Throws entire career.
It's kind of like a lifelong backup.
Kind of getting his shot.
This is kind of like when Nick Foles of Eagles to the Super Bowl kind of like a decent player, but mostly a long time back when he's finally getting his chance.
He's not letting this opportunity go to waste way.
It's gonna be a fun final.
At least they're not playing the booms because it would be his foes beating a leading about in Massachusetts way.
Don't bring that up.
Hey, Grant, your Jaguars fan.
Well, I live in the New England area.
I like the Patriots quite a bit, and you have to like it was on the Jaguars last year.
No, Nichols was horrible.
Although I do gotta be honest with you.
At least he opened a room for Gardner Minshew.
So I guess it can't be mad apples for that.
We're playing Patty.
At least I meant you get some snaps.
Sometimes you could find the positives of someplace.
Yeah, way got the Boston Miami matchup tonight.
Marlins and Red Sox.
Who? You won't be watching.
You haven't watched the red socks on in a few weeks.
I'm about to win my 2 to 1 of my 1 to 2 arguments on the Marlins.
They're not running on look anymore.
The rookie pitchers are pitching their, actually, finally winning now.
And I'm hating it that people are bringing up this 29 to whatever.
Win that the Braves beat the Marlins, it is gonna wait. Denying.
Yeah, but that's OK because they they have rebounded from that game.
I mean, yeah, they horrible.
They rebounded weight on everything.
Not in that fashion, but obviously not in that fashion.
Um, but, hey, the Marlins actually put up 10 plus runs in that game, and Don Mattingly said, If you put up 10 run plus runs in every game, I expect to win.
They gave up 29.
I'll be honest, Sam, I can't roast the Celtics.
They're a good team.
And I can't roast you because they're not gonna lose.
They are not getting swept, I can tell you that.
You know there will be a great Siri's.
I'm looking forward to it.
And by the way, if you're wondering why I have the heat in six and the Celtics and seven, it's because again the heat or not built for seven When I said they're not built for seven, what I mean is, I just don't feel like they they're not being that's gonna get behind in the Siri's.
They're gonna get ahead.
And if they follow behind, they're gonna They're gonna win.
They're not going seven games.
I feel the Celtics, Sooners.
I mean, they weren't again.
They they were up to nothing against the actor.
So yeah, I think a big part for Boston to obviously, they had more trouble, uh, in the second round compared to Miami.
But I think I think that was good for that.
Miami Pretty much, you know, it's been impressive, but they pretty much made it look easy through the first two rounds so far and haven't faced any real challenge yet in adversity.
Obviously, we thought that the Bucks would be a challenge, but they won that 4 to 1.
And I think the fact that the Celtics, you know, one in seven games, you know, they that was that was a grueling Siri's and, yeah, going back to Grant Point on the rest.
I I think it could hurt Miami here in the first game, especially, I think, because I think, you know, in basketball you could get out of rhythm and they when they haven't played in a week.
I think they could definitely, uh, lose tonight for sure.
I could see that happening.
And I think the Celtics are riding high after, you know, winning Game 74 days ago, and we'll bring that momentum into tonight.
So I I definitely think Boston would win tonight.
I'd be surprised otherwise.
But then, who knows? The rest of the Siri's? It should, and then the other other reason is the other side of it.
You know, they got good rest, you know.
They got they again.
There's no teams in the bubble anymore.
They get to practice at night.
I remember when I was watching the bubble of log.
Sometimes they had practice at several morning to fit everyone in.
So the other side is they get to sleep later.
They get to go to practice at any time whenever they're scheduled, to which is not early anymore.
And, of course, they get to a loan.
They should know anyway.
But they get toe.
They get to break down the Celtics film and guess what? The Celtics who were busy practicing toe wit, studying toe win the rapture.
Siri's while the Heat.
We're just studying the Celtics already.
The Celtics didn't have time to study the Heat.
They have to worry about getting past the Raptors serious, right? So that is one advantage again.
I do not know what Wait and see.
Game one tonight.
It's gonna have this sports talk show.
Social Media is on the bottom.
If you wanna be a guest, feel free to Damascus.
We had Nathan on.
Thanks so much for coming on as usual.
Um, anyone? Yeah.
We'll be happy to have you on.
We expect to have guests most weeks, so, uh, next week we won't be going much into depth for a recap the week to you say, why were we to more people are adjusted week warned.
Just a special right.
I know, you know, just getting started, But it's more special and way.
No, that is NFL fence.
So grant any last things.
Any sports topics, any social media stream you're doing, By the way, I'm not doing that.
He came tonight because again, I'm watching the Marlins and I'm not doing the models came to that.
I mean, I will say at least be on the call for the fourth quarter of the Heat and Celtics game.
And then tomorrow I think we actually got you coming on the power skate shows.
That should be, ah, lot of fun.
But then I hope you guys enjoyed another edition of the old sports talk show.
A lot of fun recapping all the NFL action.
A little quick preview to the Celtics Heat match up.
And, uh, I'll tell you one thing.
I pumped for the NBA playoffs.
Like I said, we know Dallas stars going to sell compounds can be lightning wrap up that Siri's tonight.
Hey, maybe maybe Game one of the Finals could be sometime later this week.
I'm hoping that is the case, but I hope you guys enjoyed the broadcast.
Like I said, I will be on the call for the fourth quarter of the Celtics game.
I'm grateful from fluster sports.
I'm saying Enjoy the rest of the evening and I'll toss it over to sand.
Yeah, thank you very much.
Thank you for, uh, tuning in to another edition of the all sports talk show we hope you enjoyed everything we discussed on today's show.
Obviously, was NFL heavy for good reason, as it was the beginning.
Thio Cam Newton heavy.
That's what you meant to say.
Yeah, yeah, that that that's true, but yeah, so I'm definitely looking forward to Week two, but looking forward to the NBN NHL playoffs throughout the rest of the week.
As Grant said, we'll see if temp making clothes out tonight.
Looking forward, the Celtics heat in the Eastern Conference finals.
I'll be on the call for Game one tonight.
They say it starts at 6 30 but it's the MBA, so that probably means like a 6 50 tips.
So I'll beyond when that gets underway and then also Game seven of Clippers now gets, which we didn't even get to that that should be very interesting.
That's the back end of the double header tonight before the Lakers await the winner of that series for the Western Conference finals.
So I just so much overall in sports to look forward to.
And, yeah, I'm looking forward, Thio the rest of the week in the wide world of sports, which has provided plenty of entertainment over the past week or so.
And we'll continue to do so going forward as we get ready for the Stanley Cup final in the NHL in the conference finals in the n B.
And, of course, weeks two of the NFL season right around the corner.
So thanks, everyone for all to once again, I'll be with Grant and Alex on the powers Can't show tomorrow.
So, as always, I have to say, this is Sam.
I don't want him crying while watching the Celtics game.
He could cry when Jimmy by little mix of three.
But again, I have no hate towards Camp Newton.
Even though I was arguing about him, I did say that he wasn't bad.
And that is something that Sam has to be impressed with because I thought he would be bad, right? Sam? I didn't think he would be bad.
I mean, yeah, I didn't know you thought he would be bad, but yeah.
I mean, okay, I'm rooting for doing gentleman.
I was smiling when he got catches again.
The reason I thought the Dolphins would win is I don't think the Patriots would come out strong this out of the gates, because again, this is the first time in 20 years they don't have Tom Brady, right? E didn't think they would come this strong out of the AIDS, especially with no fans at Gillette.
That's really the main reason.
And again I need to.
It would be this good. I don't think he's bad at all.
I need to see more from him.
But I doubt I'm gonna say he's not good.
I'm gonna say he's better than good, right? I think progressing.
I'm gonna better than good.
But for now, I think I'm saying he's good, which is still better than I thought I would say he would be.
But still, I'm gonna say he's gonna be better than that.
We'll see against the Seahawks.
But anyway, yeah, turn into the next or sports talk show should be next week.
I'll be on the call, um, Thursday night Football Bangles and browns.
I know it's a bad game.
I want to commentate job? Why not? And again, I like the Browns as their players.
They are talented team.
They just don't show it.
Oh, now back, um, drivers Standard.
Who spent a lot of his career on the Dolphins? Kareem Hunt. Nick Chubb.
Who? Nick Chubb, by the way, is another player who underperformed Week one.
Ah, so I'm gonna be commentating that game Thursday night.
It is Tuesday night.
Thanks everyone, for watching another edition of the whole sports talk show things Salmon Grant Sam, I like candid.
Alright, alright, alright.
Watching I I was impressed with the Patriots.
I'm not I'm not going to deny that Bill Belichick Well done.
They need Bill Belichick.
Bruce Orient's look.
He Bruce Arians said he likes Q B s who pass the ball.
But with Brady, Brady is going to do what he wants.
Bruce Syrians is not going to sit him on the bench.
We know that, but when Josh Rosen comes up, Josh Rosen is gonna be the starting today.
Anyway, thanks everyone for watching another edition in the whole sports section D n to the gas next show
