So we'll start off as always with the swear jar. Steve.
What was sure what the **** moment from this past week in sports or in life before we get into it like any any, like, interesting.
Like the color of my beard.
Right now I'm using you. Beard, oil, beard, cream.
Like I don't know.
I'm just kind of like looking at myself right now.
I'm like, looking pretty good right now.
Yeah, it is looking good, but beard oil doesn't doesn't diet e When you said color, you know, I know that, but I'm like e.
I just feel like it kind of brightens everything up, does it not shiny.
I mean, it's nice.
It's not not I mean, it's not not not.
I mean, it's nice.
I mean, it looks nice.
You're doing the right thing.
It's long overdue, long overdue.
But now I'm starting to see how necessary really is.
Should we start a beard challenge? Just see who we just grow it out just by the you know how long? E out.
But I mean, if the fans wanna vote, who has a better scruff, you know, like, please, by all means.
Like I said, I gotta grow my because I get mine.
So, like, e, don't wanna do that.
I want You know, like I said, Like, I wanna be queen geek.
He was like, G Cube.
All right, well, the first we get into it, I'm gonna put $5 around Food Bank.
I lost a bet to Mark last week.
He took the over in the Minnesota Green Bay game.
They scored what, Mark? 82 points.
It seemed like that.
So what was the crazy part, though? What was the score? 8 to 7.
Like like, three minutes left in the in the second quarter.
What's even crazier is I forgot that we did this little bet, and I actually bet the over in that game.
And remember, I was sitting there with you being like we got the over and then you said, Didn't you bet $5 with me the other night saying that the other was gonna hit? Well, I went back to the tape and you were right.
It's the hungry people out there.
$5 in the square job.
Do it for the people, baby.
So where I'm gonna go tonight is I'm gonna go back to the Sunday night game, and I'm sure there was a lot of talk about it today.
Obviously, I've been at work all day, so I haven't seen or heard anything.
But all I know is I watched typical Mike McCarthy, you know, do Mike McCarthy things as he went for 1/4 and three down three on the 11 yard line with, like, seven minutes to go in the game.
And normally I would say, like, you know, I don't mind people gambling in that situation, but when you've always scored 17 points and you're down three on the road, I don't care that there's no crowd going on.
You take the points.
What the **** you take the points like like so they put those and people wanna hold in on the pass interference call.
That was the old passenger offensive pass interference call that was called in the last possession.
Don't hold it on that.
Holding on the fact that you always take the points.
If one thing I've learned from coach Bill Belichick is, you always take the points like, why is this guy going for it? I had no idea it was a terrible decision.
It just makes me remember why he doesn't have a job anymore.
It just makes me understand why Dallas is who Dallas is.
You take a fired coach from Green Bay that can't win a Super Bowl.
You bring him down here with this explosive offense and you score 17 points on the first night of the season.
Embarrassing, Embarrassing, embarrassing.
It doesn't make any sense, because at that point you have 17 points in the game.
In the beginning of the fourth quarter, you're not exactly killing it on the offensive end.
You're not moving the ball up the field and scoring at will, so toe to not go to go for it.
And potentially, if you think about missing it, to think that you could just drive up the field and get three points later on in the game is is just crazy.
And you're right.
You got a fired coach in Green Bay that it was only able to win one single where Aaron Rodgers completely wasted the prime years of Aaron Rodgers, although yesterday he did look like he was kind of putting back going back in the time machine a little bit.
But you completely wasted.
The primary is very Rodgers and Rodgers.
We can agree, should have multiple Super Bowls with how talented he is.
Um, and then they have Mike McCarthy again just going just doing it again in Dallas.
Just just not being able to get that offense going side.
Note that Minnesota defense is horrendous.
So for all these people thinking that Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers are back, just remember like that defense is terrible that Minnesota has out there to rookie cornerbacks and linebackers that don't even know what they're doing.
So I don't I don't put too much stock into that.
But right, mark, like you got fired from a job.
You've got the Dallas job.
You have all of the weapons.
You put that game plan out, and normally, if people are going for in this situation, is because they feel like they can destroy the defense that they're facing.
You scored 17 points.
You're down three points, take the field goal, move on with your day, and then maybe you're talking about a Dallas victory today.
I solely put that wall.
So I'm like McCarthy yesterday and I'm not shocked to say the least.
I agree, but I get it.
When I was definitely sure took the points there and then worried about winning the game on a later Dr What the ****? Mike McCarthy? Alright, man.
So it's it's my turn and I'm going to kind of set the scene for you guys.
And and Steve is gonna be the first time.
You're probably hearing this, too, but we go to a little conversation that me and you had about fantasy football.
I think it was on Saturday.
We're talking about our fantasy football team for our podcast league, and we're talking about one Courtland Sutton, who has a sprained A C joint.
Um, and you know, we're going back and forth on because he's got the late game tonight.
Monday night, late start.
Do we pick somebody up? Do we sit on? What do we do? Because he had the questionable tag and he did practice in a limited fashion on Saturday.
So usually, when players are able to practice in some kind of form and their their last practice, usually they're able to give it a go in the game.
So we have decided Thio, wait and keep him in the lineup on DSI.
You know, if he was gonna play or not, going into tonight we were down seven points with two guys going.
And the guy who had one guy going The guy we're playing it that juju Smith Schuster.
We had Deontay Johnson and Courtland Son going well, come to find out Courtland son is not playing tonight and the top it all off.
I can't pick anybody up to play in a spot.
Then you have to drop because I would have to drop him, eh? So this is kind of personal.
What the **** me What the **** me? Because Steve doesn't have access to the team.
So he uses my job completely failed on that I should have instead of hoping something would play to pick somebody up.
But I can't even go drop somebody cause everybody's locked now because they've already played.
And so I could only start somebody if if if I drop Quantum Sign, which is not gonna happen.
So we're just gonna take the groups from Kuala something this week and take the because the Johnsons sucking right now and you just want to choose that has touched John.
So I used to live on here.
I don't think you have to apologize to me.
I mean, football, man, we got you wanna win every week? Dude, you know what I mean.
So I agree with you.
I mean, we were both on the same side of it The way saw the questionable tag.
We want to roll the dice.
We It wasn't like we didn't have a conversation about it yesterday.
If we're gonna go, I mean, that's the worst part about having the late game, especially at 10.
15 at night on a Monday night.
You're you're taking a chance and, you know, we should know better.
I just feel knowing that the veteran fantasy football no players that I am and you are we should have at least picked up somebody just just in cases where the happen we could we could have dropped.
You know what I mean? We could adopt anybody way, actually, have Deebo Samuel on our team.
We couldn't move Deebo Samuel to IR because he's on IR.
We'll just pick somebody else way.
What the **** you for that? That's terrible.
No, I'm taking the blame.
That's why this is what the **** moment.
Congratulations around Food Bank.
What the **** is not in this week? Exactly? Uh, so moving on, guys, we're going to get into the Eastern Conference finals and the n B A.
We have the Boston Celtics taking on the Miami Heat.
Miami just took out Milwaukee in five games.
And what really wasn't a close Siris on.
Then the Celtics adjust one.
A crazy Game seven that came down to the wire last Friday to advanced to the third conference finals in the last four years, which is crazy.
This is the first time they're actually the favorite in I have a chance.
Really good chance to reach the finals.
Eso going into this game, Steve, What do you kind of take aways? What do you see? What are some key things that you think needs to happen in this Siris for the Celtics to pull this one out? I mean, they're gonna be able to defend the perimeters.
I mean, that's the number one thing that I would have to hone in on.
I mean, right now we're watching Miami.
He have great performances from the outside, whether it's their guards and whether it's their centers all those guys can step out and make big shots.
We talked about Kelly Olynyk.
Now that's a matchup difference.
I think that bam out of bio is gonna be a little bit of a trouble for for the Celtics.
And obviously, Tyler Herro has just been absolutely out of his mind.
So it'll be interesting to see what the matchups are, what Brad likes to do in those situations.
I mean, Goran Dragic is another guy that's had a had, a rebirth that seems like in this bubble.
So all the momentum seems to be with Miami.
Like, I feel like people are just holding on the fact of what they were able to accomplish and gets Milwaukee, and rightfully so.
And and honestly, I thought sweeping Indiana and that first Syria was was mildly impressive to I don't think that was underselling it.
I mean, the Celtics had to run through a dismantled Philadelphia 70 Sixers team, you know, and then the Toronto Syrian India was dismantled to Yeah, but they were playing.
They were playing with that same team basically all year, like they might have lost the bonus.
But I mean, that team was banged up all year, so I mean, they always had some sort of chemistry with one another.
And I don't think any of us thought that they were gonna get swept.
Warren came, became the second LeBron James.
Like all of a sudden, I don't know where.
So, you know, toe watch, that serious transpire.
And then, like I said to go into Milwaukee and handle their business the way they did, we could look back at the Celtics and say, You know, like they definitely probably have had the tougher road in terms of, you know, the teams that they've had to play.
But I think we all thought they were pretty much in control after those first two games of the Siri's and let it go.
Seven was kind of disappointing.
But I think this team still growing and I think there's a lot of things that they do well that's going to give Miami some issues.
I definitely think that the defense is for both teams have been performing very well, but I think this is gonna be a very different Siri's.
I think you're gonna start seeing these offenses start toe drive a little bit more, and I just think it's the matchups that that exists in the Siri's that it's gonna allow that to do that.
The one X factor I am a little worried about is, and I'm interested to see how he plays because he played so well.
Last syriza's Jae Crowder.
You know that he's gonna be coming in the series with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder.
Yeah, and not to mention like I know we've talked about this a while ago.
Erik Spoelstra is a very good coach, and he's gonna have this team prepared.
And I know people are like honing in on the fact that it's Danny Ainge versus Pat Riley.
You know, like you got that you have that little battle up top.
It's a very close Siri's.
It's a very close serious, I think, as a exposure is the only coach that survived LeBron James.
That goes to show you how great he is when it boils down to it.
Uh, the Celtics wanted Miami to beat Milwaukee.
That's definitely a better matchup, but this is still not gonna be a cakewalk on your side like this is gonna be a very good Eastern Conference finals.
I don't know if either one of these teams can win the the N b A championship.
I still, I'll be able to tell right after this serious how I feel differently.
Hopefully, the Celtics will be able to get Gordon Hayward back into the fold because they desperately need him.
He did practice three other day, and I know he's been doing a little bit of walk through.
So I'm not expecting him for Game one game to.
Maybe you'll start seeing by Game three, which is definitely a lot quicker than what we expected.
But all in all, like this is gonna be a great sense.
I think the opening line for the game was 1.
So you know Vegas.
So Vegas is seeing this is a coin foot as a better.
I know the Celtics usually come out and win Game one, so I'm definitely expecting them to come out like firing.
If they lose game one.
I'm gonna be a little word for him.
But you can probably see a lot of Marcus smart on Jimmy Butler.
This Siri's you're probably gonna see.
Hopefully probably put Kemba probably on Hero or Dragic.
They'll probably have those switches happened.
And I'm interested to see what Tatum in, uh, in brown.
Do you know, I'm assuming that Butler is going to take one of them.
So then the other one's gonna really have to thrive and really pick it up.
That's so it's gonna be great.
Serious? I don't think I really have a prediction.
Obviously, the Homer me says that the Celtics probably will win, and I do think that they are built to win a Siri's like this.
But I'm not gonna I'm not gonna understand Miami at all.
I think I think they're very, very good team. And I think they're well coached.
And I think it's gonna be all of these comments finals forever.
May a few things that I am looking at in this Siri's, um number one is gonna be, um, Kemba Walker.
A lot of people, you know, kind of looking recently at Game six and Game seven of the last Siri's and saying, Hey, Kemba Walker had a bad Siri's.
There were there were people out there saying, You know, teams out better with Kemba and Kyrie was better and fire Brad Stevens after the Celtics almost blew the Siri's.
You know what I mean? Some crazy things going on that we're saying.
But if you look at it, camera actually had a very, very good Siri's games.
One through five, he played unbelievable.
He had a 29 point game with 21 point game 18 point game.
You played really, really well hit some big shots in those games.
But it was recently in Game six and seven, where Toronto decided to go box in one, which completely Kimba out of his rhythm.
He couldn't get anything going.
It was one past, and Kimble would go to the corner on.
Guy would just stick with him, which forced everybody the Celtics to play for and for which I think Kemba did a great job of just kind of getting out of the way in those situations.
And just like the Celtics compete for in four when they were in the box of one, Um, and when you have that, you get a lot of open corner threes like there again, I don't think Miami has the personnel to play a box of one Nor do I think they will, because NBA teams just don't do that.
That was just a crazy thing that Nick Nurse had done last year, and he did it this year again, Um, the guards from Miami, you know, coming out and playing Kimba is going to be probably drag it just probably going to start on Kemba.
Um, and they're gonna run high pick and rolls drug.
It is not that great defensively.
Campus shouldn't really be able to get going with that pick and roll and get that three point shot going again and really get into a rhythm and a group against this Heat team.
Also be interesting to see how he responds to his last two games on but also on the defensive end for the Celtics, the Miami Heat love to run a bunch of dribble handoffs.
Obama to Bio and Tyler Herro, Duncan, Rahm's and all their shooters.
You know, the key for them is really what do you do defensively when that happens? Because you can't go under the screen when that happens, because they're just gonna sit there and make you look stupid and step back and hit three.
Unbelievable three point shooting team as we know, and it's tough when you go over the screen, because nowadays in the n b A.
Whenever you go over a screen, everybody just stops in.
The defendant's momentum just runs right into him, and next thing you know, it's a four point play.
I don't think I've seen as many four point plays in normal years of watching basketball as I've seen this year.
Like it seems like shooters have mastered that.
When that happens, eh? So it's gonna be a lot of guys, you know, The guys screening is gonna have to hedge out and get that shooter coming around.
It's gonna be a lot of what we call to in basketball, which is help the helper.
When that guy helps on Hedges and the guy rolls to the basket, you're gonna have the bottom, have to have the bottom guy come on over and whether it's Jalen Brown on Bamako Bio when he's rolling to the basket, Um, and that makes it like another guy like Anna's cancer, like Anna's cancer is probably unplayable in this in this Siri's right now, just like he was last Siri's because he can't play with quicker, bigger guys like he's not gonna be able to cover guy like Bam out of Bio.
He's not gonna be able to stay on anybody in a switch.
Whether it's Duncan Robinson, it's hardly hear or Jimmy Butler.
So I don't see SC and much of his cancer in the Siris on down.
Like you said, with the defense of matchups, it's gonna be interesting to see who takes who I really do.
Think Jae Crowder is gonna come out and cover Jayson Tatum.
Like I said, I think drug edge covers um, Kemba Walker.
Um and then Auto Bio will cover Daniel Thais, but we will probably on Brown.
And then Herro would probably be on Marcus Smart S O.
I think there's some advantages there that the Celtics and take advantage of, especially with size.
I mean, they are the bigger team in this series, which you don't really get to say that a lot about the Celtics, but they are.
So I think they could take advantage with the smaller guys defending.
Jason Tatum is gonna learn to shoot over the top of people because get that shot all day on the last thing.
I'll say, What's gonna be the X factor in this area is that you mentioned it a little bit, but it's Gordon Hayward.
Gordon Hayward is coming back.
This area is 100%.
Brad already said he practiced a little bit.
Hopefully, he's back by Game two or three.
But the interesting thing is gonna be to see what Brad does once he does come back.
Because Marcus Smart has been playing out of his mind life. Siri's.
He's just been playing so well.
He had two triple doubles in that Siri's.
Usually what brand is done when Gordon's come back from injury issues.
Put Gordon right back into the starting lineup and move markets to the bench, you know, but I could see something where if the Celtics come out and they're up 20 in this, Siri's where he doesn't really want to ruin things, and he might move Gordon to the bench.
So I'm interested to see what you have to say, Steve.
What do you think Brad might do with Gordon when he comes back? Is the kind of gonna be like move him to the starting lineup.
Marcus Smart back to the bench or do you think, You know, depending on how the Siri's goes, we could see Marcus Smart stay in that starting role.
Well, I'm assuming that when Gordon comes back, he's gonna be a limited minutes.
I wouldn't expect him to play over 20 to 22 minutes in game right off the jump, So I do definitely think that he'll probably start because I think it's important for him to be able to get those reps with those guys again because you're gonna kind of need that going into the next series.
And I think the best thing about Marcus Smart is he's always been a six man.
He's always been on the bench, and then he comes in and he feels those boys whenever he does, so I don't think it's gonna affect them either way, when ultimately comes down to it, you probably want Hayward out there just from the scoring aspect, and you just know what's when when you're I think you're going to get a better push when you're able to bring Marcus Smart off the bench rather than Gordon Hayward.
So I think it's important to get him in this group back.
The other thing that I'll point out Teoh.
Is Robert Williams also unplayable in this serious now? No.
You think he can play the serious? Of course.
He's a big man that rolls to the basket.
He's quick. He's learned he could stay with a guy like Bear.
You know that his captors and his cancer is one of the worst big guys in defending the pick and roll. He's terrible at.
It s so I think in.
Robert Williams has the length, the athleticism.
He's a rum runner.
Like obviously, any big man on a guard is gonna be a mismatch.
But I'm talking about pick and roll situations when guards get downhill and the big guys rolled to the basket.
He's just better at recovering than and his cancerous.
Now, I just figured that we would probably see a lot more semi old Joe and Grant Williams in the Siri's.
Just because of its size.
I think grandkids alive, think Grant and some big minutes.
Those last seven minutes that he played, um, he played seven minutes in the Game seven the other night and he had some huge defensive plays, some big rebounds.
He didn't miss two clutch free throws, but Tater, bail them out and get the rebound off of the second miss.
But he played unbelievable minutes for for rookie and those that you just didn't expect because you haven't seen that really out of Grant Williams yet.
So I think he's kind of learned some playing time coming up in this next Siri's.
I mean, like I said, the Celtics, they're gonna It's gonna be how they defend Miami's three point shooters.
They one of the best three point shooting defense is in the league and one of the most elite defenses in the league.
Right now, they're only given up like 100 101 points per game.
Something like that, which is tops in the bubble right now in the playoffs.
Eso if they continue to play elite elite defense like they are.
I mean, the sky's the limit for them.
And, you know, I think they're gonna win this areas.
And I do think they wanted in six, so I'd be my prediction there.
Uh, moving on, guys.
We just wrapped up Week one in the NFL this past week.
We had some great games on everything.
Steve, what were you.
What do you see this week in the NFL? You know, I know it's Week one.
Some, you know, a lot of new things, a lot of new players on teams and things like that.
Anything surprised you, or do you have any major takeaways from Week one coming out of it? It was weird, I think, my major take away it was like seeing the crowd pumping noise and and and dealing with that aspect of it.
I think for me, it's It's definitely the one sports that's going to get a little getting used to.
I don't know, maybe maybe it was just my brain wasn't ready for football because everything was so delete and everything is on top of each other.
Maybe week one wasn't where my head was gonna be at maybe as a Patriots fan, not seeing Tom Brady was gonna throw me off a little bit.
But, you know, like, but I'm watching a run overhaul of the nuclear Patriots, just, you know, 75% power options and all this stuff, you know, still winning.
But, you know, it was interesting.
I thought just having football back was awesome when it ultimately came down to it, but nothing really changed my mind.
Uh, a lot of the teams that were really good last year are gonna be really good again this year, you know, and ah, lot of the teams that are mediocre, like the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles and teams like that.
They're just gonna continue to stink because, you know, they just got bad coaching and they just don't know how to win football games.
So all in all, happy to see football back.
But nothing really surprised me that much.
I mean, it wasn't really any major surprises.
I'd say some things I was looking at.
It is like the Cleveland Browns again, man, like they're just so bad.
And you know, there's another year that they come in with big expectations, where they have so much talent on that team.
That offense is super talented way Chuck finished out last year.
They still have Landry and Odell, which you too good receivers.
No, They add Austin Hooper, who was a Pro Bowl tight end from Atlanta last year, to go along with the Joker, so they got two tight ends there now.
Ah, cream hunt is still there is a second runner back, like the second that the talent that these guys have on the offensive end is just unbelievable.
But again, Baker Mayfield.
You know, he's just every year.
It looks like he either stays the same or he's regressing or just he's not getting any better.
So, you know, even a game yesterday against Baltimore, who Baltimore's, you know, in some people's minds, Super Bowl favorites.
You know, they just didn't show up at all.
Only point up six points in that game.
And the first thing that happens today is they released their kicker, like Why I tweeted this out was like Imagine if other positions in the NFL were treated like kickers like you miss a throw, you missed the catch.
You miss a block like you're released like kickers just seem like interchangeable on teams are scapegoats.
And this had nothing to do with that kicker like that was not why they lost 38 to 6 yesterday.
I mean, they don't want you have one job, though.
I mean, they got to put the ball through the uprights.
If you can't feel comforted, confident a guy putting the ball through the uprights.
You don't get rid of a guy for missing an extra point after Week one.
It's an extra point.
You gotta make the extra point.
I mean, that happened, like, four or five times yesterday, so I mean, it happens in the league.
They brought in double doing Cody parts.
He's like he's like the most Cleveland Browns kicker that you could pick Another thing that I will bring up like the Indianapolis Colts lost by seven yesterday and they they had 250 more yards of offense and they actually did not punt the ball one time in that game.
And I think when I looked at the stats, it was there's only been 12 teams that haven't punted in a game and I found a way to lose in the regular season in all of the NFL history, so that was quite surprising to me.
But in all in all it was it was nice to see Philip Rivers still swinging the ball around.
I think he threw the ball 46 times for them.
So you know something when you play against the quarterback who throws a 95% completion percentage Gardner Minshew.
I think that was surprising, but there's a lot of people like you think of the Jags.
We're gonna tank tank tank to try to get Trevor Lawrence.
They were trading for net.
They traded their defenses and on they think Gardner Minshew is like **** that.
I'm gonna come out here and played my best football that I could possibly play.
It's a better markets.
You know, I watched.
I think we'll get into it.
But like the first game I targeted was like when I start Indianapolis just playing Minnesota, I was like, After watching that Minnesota defense yesterday, I'm pretty sure Indianapolis is gonna be able to do whatever they want in that game.
So But we'll get.
We'll get to it.
Yeah, what do you think of what you think about Bruce Arians calling out Brady not really calling him up, but, like not really coddling him and kind of blaming him for a lot of the things that happened yesterday.
I think it's a little bit over the top.
I understand what he's doing.
He's trying to make everybody feel equal, you know, especially with him coming in.
But I mean Tom played terrible yesterday.
There's no ifs and buts about it.
I mean, they knew exactly what they were gonna expect and he missed him.
It's just what it is.
And it's not like he hasn't seen a defense like that before.
I don't care about schemes.
Tom needs to be more prepared.
Needs to be better than that.
I think Grok showed up.
I think he had, what, two catches for 11 yards? Basically, Basically, last week when we talked about the pick him, You thought I was being sarcastic when I was talking about old time an old Gronk, you know, and being garbage and taking the Saints? No, that's exactly what I thought was gonna happen.
Like those guys e expect good teams with good rosters to struggle early in September because they're still trying to find their footing.
They're still trying to figure out what they need to dio.
That team is gonna be fine.
There's no doubt in my mind as the season goes on, they're gonna be fine.
But, you know, this is Bruce Arians being Bruce areas.
I'm so tired of Bruce Arians being the quarterback whisper a dude like Bruce Arians is only court first overall picks for quarterbacks scared like that. Jamis Winston.
Like who else? City coach. You coach somebody else.
Pretty famous too.
I can't even remember, you know, but yeah.
Andrew luck. Yeah.
You're not the quarterback Whisperer if you're picking guys at number one And now you have Tom Brady like and all of a sudden everybody, everything was gonna be okay now, Bruce Arians A little bit overrated, I think.
In my mind, I think he's got a coach of this team a little bit better.
That defense is pretty soft.
So and their run game was not that good lender for that stunk yesterday.
So all in all, it is what it is.
Bruce Arians gonna Bruce Arians? I guess so.
Tom Brady is on pace to pull a Jamis Winston right now.
I know. That's two touchdowns, Two interceptions.
James was on the same bench yesterday.
Like E could have ****ing did that.
This guy did that exactly what I did last year.
That's gonna feel so good to be a back James making $5 million and watching your other team stink and watching the quarterback that considered the greatest of all time.
Do exactly what they made fun of you from doing last year.
Throwing pick sixes like you know, it was perfect, in my opinion, was perfect.
Dude, if Tom Brady throws one more pick six next week, he ties the record for most games through the pick six.
Thrown time's Matt Shops record good dating back to last year? Yeah, Booth Records. Four.
He's got three right now.
He had one against, uh, at the end of the year last year.
I don't remember that. Really? Yeah.
One of the end of the year.
And then he had one of the divisional game.
We'll talk about that Cliff.
I'm sure he had a field day today.
I didn't hear any other reports of yourself either.
Uh, but let's get into Let's get into Week Two men were gonna get into some games there.
Um, as you can see, they're brought up on the screen.
We'll just talk about like we did last week.
We'll go through each game and we'll just, you know, let you know what we like and what we think will be our one of our best bets from each game.
Hopefully, when you guys a little bit of money a Z could see.
See if Thursday night we got the Bangles in the Browns.
We've got a line of Cleveland minus 5.
5 and the over under sitting at 44.
What do you think is gonna happen in this game? What do you What? Do you like this faras? Betting wise.
Well, the first thing I'll say about the Bangles is losing on a missing a 31 yard or yesterday and then having your kicker also having hamstring injury when he does it, it was was so bad that kick was not even close.
At first I was like, he's got to be thinking that injury, but, you know, he was obviously really hurt Bangles.
We're gonna bangle.
So it wasn't shocked by that.
And I think we talked about prior to the season how Dill Borough was gonna have to go through some growing pains because he was gonna have weird schedules like this.
So honestly, like, a lot of people are gonna look at the 16 13 game look at the way they lost and say themselves Well, the bank was probably in a good spot here.
I mean, the Browns just lost by 32 but, like I said, recency bias.
I know we just made fun of the Browns, but this is that I don't know what the line is in this game, but it's definitely a game that I'm definitely gonna be targeting the Browns.
I've always been for the Browns.
Cleveland, Cleveland minus 5.5.
Yeah, I would take that.
And one thing I've always honed in on was taking Thursday night divisional unders.
I don't know what the total in that game is, but that would be another thing that I would look at especially for you.
Well, I'm saying is like the way those offenses performed in week one on Lee having a short week, and I'm not gonna be really shocked that they really don't put that many points up.
So I'll probably take the Browns and the under in that game.
Yeah, I'd lean more towards, uh, the under than everything, actually.
I mean, I like what the Bengals did other than missed that kick in a little bit.
You know, sloppiness from from Jo Nixon.
I thought borrow did pretty decent for his debut.
Had a great drive at the end there to get him in the in the field goal range.
Um, mixing is gonna be more short handed.
He had a costly fumble in that game.
A J green Look good coming back after a year off.
Um, I think they're gonna do a little bit more of getting Tyler Boyd involved.
Um, you know that from obviously him being on your fancy team.
You had a pretty rough day yesterday after having to back to back 1000 yard seasons.
You didn't get off to a great start, Andi.
I just can't make fun of the Browns enough and just say, you know, you said Bangles we're gonna Bangles, but Brown's gonna browns, you know what I mean? And I think this is a closed divisional game, but I like the underplay the best because I don't think it's gonna be very high scoring.
I'm not all either Eso moving on, guys, I guess you guys gonna take the under that We both agree on that, and I came next.
Can we have the San Francisco 40 Niners at the New York Jets.
Um, Niners are a seven point favorite, and the over under is 43.
Um, I'll start with this one, since I'm the resident Niners guy here.
I do like the Niners in this game minus seven.
I think they bounced back strongly, had a tough game yesterday against Arizona.
They always have a tough time playing Carla Murray.
Both games last year were closed and took final drive from from Jimmy G um toe win those games, and it was almost playing out that way yesterday.
Jimmy G was driving him down late but had a couple of miss throws he had under throw Kendrick, born for a touchdown, the end zone, and then he was late on, not round to Trent Taylor for four first down on fourth and five.
Has really got to pick it up.
He's gonna be a lot better.
They do have some injuries to the receiving corps, but I still think they have enough talent.
Um, Thio really kind of put a beat down on this Jets team because the Niners defense yesterday actually did pretty well on holding Kyler Murray Onda.
Check until late in that game.
They just is a running quarterback.
You just the defense's winded at the end.
They only give you 20 points, which is not terrible.
I mean, 23 points is not terribly gonna be able to outscore that, though the judge just looked awful yesterday against the Bills.
This is another team that we say, you know, the Jets are going to Jets, just I don't trust them.
Donald really don't like him.
A lot of people see, you know he's got a huge upside, but he hasn't really shown me anything since he's been in the league.
Andi, I think the Niners will be able to pull this one out by more than seven.
Well, I think it's It's important to note that the Niners will be desperate, at least coming to this game.
But I think if they if they won yesterday, maybe they would have kind of like a relaxed attitude coming into to New York, but knowing that they don't want already and they need to win, I think that's bad news for the Jets.
I think the easiest play for me right now with just a just to do a Moneyline parlay with the Niners and the under in this game.
Just because I feel like the Niners defense is really gonna show up against a bad Jets offense and that teams already in turmoil right now.
Libyan bells out for a few weeks, Adam cases already getting hate mail again, so I I can I can only imagine how bad that offense is gonna be.
It wouldn't shock me if the Niners had a couple interceptions for touchdowns, so but on the same play, I would definitely pound the Niners and the Niners and the the under that game.
Moving onto the next game.
We have the New York Giants, who are currently losing or loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers right now going up against the Chicago Chicago Bears.
5 point favorite, and the over under is 43.
Steve, what better you taking in this game? Taking the under again? E don't really don't know.
It's crazy man like unders air like are the player right now so far in these three games, anyways, based off of what we've seen over the over week one.
I mean, Obviously, Chicago came back and beat Detroit.
That was a little surprising to me, even though Detroit had one right in the hands with 11 seconds to go that they should have pulled in.
But after watching this Giants team tonight versus a Pittsburgh defense that I don't really feels that great, I have to assume that the Chicago defense is going to always be able to handle them in some assets.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I would definitely probably lean the total of the under there.
And what did you say? The line was for the Bears again? 5.5.
It's such a tricky line like you're probably gonna want to take the Bears.
But I could definitely see it playing inside that number.
So for me would probably be taking the Giants and the under.
In that game we have.
So I like I like the under is well in in this game.
I'm not really gonna touch the line because I don't like either of these teams.
I mean, I guess it could go either way, but like I said, I do like the under the Chicago Bears defense.
Um, I think we'll be able to hold the Giants and check.
Just like you said, Cleo, Mac is still there.
They still have some pretty good guys on that defense.
And General, General Jones doesn't look that great tonight, so I think they're going to be able to get pressure on him. Ah, lot.
So I'd stick with the under on that play there for sure.
Um, next game we got we got the Atlanta Falcons at the Dallas Cowboys.
Dallas is a five point favorite, minus five, and the over under sitting at 52 a half eso on this game.
I'm going to take the Falcons plus five.
I'll take the Falcons getting five points in this game.
I absolutely love what they did yesterday.
Even though they lost, they look very dangerous.
That offense, um, is unbelievable What Matt Ryan had, like 450 yards passing.
Julio had a buck 50 receiving Calvin Ridley, 138 2 touchdowns.
Todd Gurley look decent.
He didn't have a huge game, but he was able to find the end zone again.
You know Atlanta's offense is able to put up, is gonna be able to put a points against Dallas.
Andi, I think Dallas is still trying to figure itself out like you can identity.
Like, who are they? Is Mike McCarthy, you know, Was he gonna have some questionable calls again? You know, you kind of you don't know what you're gonna get with Dallas.
Is Dallas the same team that they've always been over the years? So I think they might have a little bit difficulty in this game.
Um, I like the Falcons to keep it close.
Potentially went outright, but definitely I'll take them with the five points I'm loving the over in this game 52 a half is just not enough.
I think the Cowboys have definitely gonna rebound and have a response versus the Falcons D that it's slightly mediocre.
And like you said, like I think what Matt Ryan did yesterday, though, it was just a lot of chasing.
I think those stats are a little deceiving 425 yards.
But in a game where we want points and way, we're OK with the Falcons chasing.
I definitely feel comfortable in taking that tool.
I don't know if I I love aside either, or because I guess I could see the other way.
But I can't see this game not allowing a winner at least 32 27 like I can't see it any other way than that's definitely a game that I'm gonna be targeted in DFS this week because I think the Cowboys, they're definitely gonna be able to move the ball through the air.
They're always gonna be able to move the ball on the ground.
I think they lost their tight end, but that's really not that big of a deal.
They've got a chip on their shoulders.
Maybe they'll just tell Mike McCarthy to shut up and just not say anything.
Just let him go out there and do their own thing.
But in terms of the Falcons, like you said, like they definitely were impressive.
They definitely have the talent.
And girly did look a lot better than I thought he was going to yesterday.
He's clearly going to get the touches.
I don't know how that's gonna transcend in this game because I think it's definitely gonna be more of a passing game.
So but so I'm definitely gonna lean over on 52 a half.
Yeah, I like that I could see that happened.
Especially with what? Seattle.
The amount of points that they put up.
So actually, I like that play as well.
Um, next game we got, we have the Detroit Lions against the Green Bay Packers Packers.
It looks like Let me see your six point favorite.
They're minus six, and the over under is 48 in this game.
Steve, what do you like in this game? Is your best bet of the week Detroit money on.
I think they're gonna rebound.
I think I think e your big Detroit guy This year s 02 games Last year they played Green Bay.
They share one both those games they lost in the final drive of the game, and it was because of the refs.
And one of those games was that without Stafford.
So I think Patricia really has a good game plan against before, and I think he understands what they was gonna take for them to win.
Lambo is not gonna be Lambeau, so it's not like you have to really worry about the away part of it.
I think Detroit should have won yesterday.
They let that game slip away from him. I think they're a lot better.
I think the Packers are a little overrated.
I think that offense was definitely clicking Mawr just because the Minnesota defense is that bad.
I think this is a great line for Detroit.
It's definitely gonna be my favorite play of the week.
I'm going right back to it.
Hopefully, Kenny Golladay plays, obviously, but I think they're in a great bounce back spot.
And I think you're gonna see a lot of regression with that offense in the Green Bay Packers this week.
Yeah, I like the over this game the over 48.
Um, I especially if Golladay plays.
I think if Golladay plays, Detroit will be definitely a lot better offensively than they were last week.
So we saw what feeling did.
Hey, was able to have a huge game.
Um, Dalvin Cook had a touchdown.
You know, Adrian Peterson had a big game, Um, the other day as well.
Um, and then the packers, I think the Packers are should have a field against that Detroit defense.
I mean, we saw what the Bears were able to do when they came back in that game, um, to eventually take that lead.
And that was with Mitch.
Strabinsky, who we can all agree upon, shouldn't even be the starting quarterback for Chicago Bears, Um, in that game.
So I definitely like points going up at a rapid pace in this game on DSO.
So I do like the over 48 in this one.
We have the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Tennessee Titans.
Tennessee is a 10 point favorite over under 42 a half.
We haven't really been able to gauge Tennessee A as they're playing Denver right now, but Stephen in this game and Jaguar students want to know that looked decent in Week one against a tough Colts defense.
What do you think? Getting 10 points.
Could you see them covering this or you staying away from that? I'm taking over.
I just know how bad that Jacksonville defense was yesterday.
I think the Colts hailed him out in a lot of different spots.
I think the Titans offense should be able to move the ball and do whatever they want.
I definitely think Jacksonville should be able to chip in.
Obviously, we're gonna learn a little bit more about the Tennessee defense tonight.
I don't really want to jump on that now.
I just wanna let everybody know that Jacksonville is very overrated.
They should have won yesterday.
Their defense is **** poor.
The Titans are who they are.
But if I know anything about the Tennessee Titans and and and in spots where I think that they're guaranteed to cover games, they just don't.
This is dating back to a year.
Every time you think that they're a shoo in to cover, especially a double digit line, I'm gonna say I wouldn't shy away from it.
But I'm definitely like you over.
And I know I'm picking a lot of totals here, but it's just because it's so early in the season and it's just kind of the way I felt about yesterday.
There was a lot of games where I felt like I had a good beat on what the totals we're gonna be.
So I'm gonna stick to the strength here.
Yeah, that 10 points is tough for me.
Like I kind of like the Jaguars.
Um, with the 10 points.
I mean, I like what they were able to do yesterday I mean, the Colts defense is is pretty good, man.
They added the forest bunker bunker there on dementia was still able to do what he did.
And so I have to see him.
He's gonna be obviously not 95% completion percentage.
But I could see him definitely having a good game planes and your intentions games.
The clock is running a lot, you know, with with Derrick Henry getting the ball a lot and things like that.
Eso the clock's ticking, you know, times come off the clock longer times of possession, but the Jaguars could get a couple of points on the board.
You know, a couple of TDs on the board early.
I could definitely see them, um, hanging in there with the titans and the 10 points to scores.
There's is definitely, um, to me, a little juicy.
Like I think they could definitely cover that.
I do like the Jaguars plus 10 in that game.
Okay, that's fine.
You don't have thio.
You don't like wanna side.
But that $5 they'll they'll put this on the preview clip next week.
When? When you're like, it doesn't look like I persuaded you again, Steve. Nope.
You didn't really persuade me that.
So And could this be our $5 bet? Jaguars plus 10.
Listen, I don't wanna bet that game, because because the Tennessee Tennessee I don't really want to bet against nervous.
It's Uncle Rico.
You know, Let Uncle Rico do what he wants to do over there.
I don't really know is gonna have to swept in. Probably.
But I just can't.
I just can't see it.
I just can't see Uncle Rico way.
Guarded ministry Doesn't look like Uncle Rico.
Dude, he does. That's why I'm laughing.
Like that's a perfect comparison.
Uh, next time we got the Minnesota Vikings at the Indianapolis Colts, it needs a three point favorite minus through there and the over under sitting at 40.5.
I'll start with this one.
Um, I actually like the, like, the colts in this game.
Um, at minus three.
I think they did play, um, pretty well yesterday.
Definitely good enough where they got a couple stops they could have won.
Like what? Like you said before, Like, for the purposes doing He's definitely slinging it out there.
He played Well yesterday.
The Vikings defense, like you had said before that I don't really trust them, especially the rookies that they're starting on.
But I do like that.
I do think that the defense turns around the Buckner has a better game.
I think they get pressure on Kirk Cousins s.
Oh, I do like India to cover three points there.
What about you, Steve? I like India in the over.
I don't mean the over.
Don't overthink it.
They're definitely gonna be able to score points both ways.
And I think in the simple advantage, I would even feel more comfortable if you're gonna do If you're gonna is gonna take the money line, because obviously you never know they could play outside the three.
But I'm pretty confident that the Indianapolis Colts is gonna handle the business against the Vikings.
And next game, we got the, uh, l A Rams.
I'm sorry we got the Buffalo Bills.
I guess the Miami Dolphins Buffaloes minus 4.
5 and the over under 17 41.5.
Steve, are you going to total again in this one or what? Oh, yeah.
I'm gonna slam the under in this game.
Absolutely lamb that under.
Don't even think about it.
Josh Allen threw away points versus the Jets yesterday. I think he threw.
Had two touchdowns wide open in the back of the end zone.
A ****ing threw it into the third deck.
So, Josh, Josh Allen, like while people are gonna jump on that bandwagon, I just didn't think the Dolphins defense played that poorly yesterday.
I just think the Patriots out executed them, and in terms of like the Buffalo defense, I know that they're pretty good.
But I definitely expect the Dolphins offense to be a little bit better, but I'm not gonna expect it to be much better.
So I think it's gonna be like one of those field Goldie games for a little while.
I mean, these teams, typically in their past, don't play high scoring games, so I'll definitely stick to that trend as far as the 4.
I know the hot bets probably going to be on the Bills this week, but going down to Miami in September is pretty tough.
It's gonna be probably about 90 degrees on the field and they're a kickoff and And that's really tough for a lot of NFL players that are not used to that environment to be able to handle.
So I would stay away from the line, But I'm pretty confident in taking the under in this game.
Yeah, I agree with the under.
For all those reasons, Aziz.
Well, I think it's gonna be a lot of field goals in this game.
Buffalo does have a great defense.
Um, Fitzpatrick is gonna be a point where he throws a costly interception.
We said it last week.
Um, with the Patriots game.
I know you had them.
I'm sorry to bring it up, but you had them in a parlay.
Fitzpatrick does that interception based in the end zone? I think it was They were.
They were driving towards the end.
Even the field goal would have made you push.
But hey, couldn't get any.
You know anything there? I'm not a huge believer in Josh Allen.
You're either. I think he needs to be more accurate.
I was. Accuracy definitely struggles.
Um, you know what makes him If he wasn't able to run as well as he is, he would even be able to be a starter in this league, in my opinion.
So if you didn't have that skill set, um, you know, work on his passing a lot.
And I think, like you said, Field goals, field goals, field goals in this game And I do like the under a swell I'm moving on without the L.
A Rams against the Philadelphia Eagles, the very injured Philadelphia Eagles affiliates of one point favorite in this game, the over under its 46.
Um, I like Rams money line in this game, I think I think the Rams were gonna beat the Eagles.
I just don't think, you know, Eagles were very turnover prone yesterday.
I think Washington had about six drives that started in Eagles territory.
Were Washington scored on four of them? Um, the Rams.
I guess the defense is really good.
Um, they look good against the Cowboys.
Their running game looks really good with brown and acres on golf played pretty well, eh? So I think they will be able Thio win this game out right? I do like the money line in the Rams plant paying plus money on this one.
It's a stinky line, man.
You got the ramps coming off a Sunday night victory of rest of the Cowboys.
And then you got the Eagles losing to the Washington football team.
So you know such a sucker bet, too.
It's like everybody looks into that is like all the Rams gonna crush the Eagles.
It's kind of it's a very, very stinky game, and I don't really like the spread where it is.
So I'm gonna I mean, I guess if you're gonna make me pick a side, obviously say the Rams look like the better side.
But I think that's a no touch for me, okay? I don't like that line at all.
That's kind of weird line.
Okay, No worries.
Sometimes you just stay away.
You know, I've seen a lot of weird lines in my my my day, where I'm like Well, that's too easy.
And usually when it is too easy, it's because it's the wrong with side.
So sometimes the best bet is to not the best.
The Rams is definitely gonna be the square bet this week that that's definitely going to be the play, but I don't know.
I don't really like that.
I don't really like what Vegas is putting that out right now.
I'm sure you're going to see that move, though.
I wouldn't be shocked if that's three points by kickoff at all.
So the next game we got, we got Broncos at Steelers, Pittsburgh.
Almost a touchdown.
Favorites minus 6.
5 and the over under sitting at 43.
Um, Steve have to see this Steve play tonight.
What do you think is gonna happen in this game? Do you think they can cover that spread? Well, I'd like to see a little bit more of this Denver defense before, before I put anything up there, but I would definitely say from the side of Pittsburgh, I thought Ben played really well tonight.
I think that was the first thing that I wanted to see was how he was gonna come back off his layover, lay off.
You know, he's gonna be ableto in, uh, and get his receivers back involved.
It was good to see Judy get off the schneid early.
Obviously, he struggled last year in his absence.
So part of me says, what's the total of that game? Mark 43 43.
You know, part of kind of like the over in that game.
Part of me likes the over two.
I think that the Steelers played over the top on their defense tonight, and I think it was a product of just Daniel Jones just making terrible decisions at at the helm.
So I mean, if Drew walking, come in and performed pretty well, and we definitely saw that last year.
There was a couple of games where Denver was huge underdogs, and then they came out of nowhere and Drew lock was actually pretty impressive.
I think that's a good spot for the over to if you if you're gonna make me pick a side, I'll probably lean the Steelers right now.
But like I said, I would like to see what this Denver game is gonna look at by the other night.
Yeah, I think the players the over it's like you said, we're definitely gonna see what Denver does tonight but not have involved.
Miller automatically hurts that defense.
He's obviously the best pass rushers in the league aan den to not know what you're really going to get out of Drew lock yet.
Hey, could easily, you know, have a few turnovers, just like Daniel Jones has and puts the Steelers in great position to make easy touchdowns and short field situations.
Um, but then again, you know, Drew Lock could come out when he could light it up with all his weapons.
And, you know, of course, with something is back healthy, next week is just another weapon to add to it.
Big Ben, like you said, look really great.
Um, tonight, do you go back into it really quickly with an early touchdown, trying to regain his momentum from a couple of years ago, Eh? So I do Think point, they're gonna be scored in this game.
And I do like the over a za bet.
And this one for sure.
Uh, next time we got panthers at Buccaneers, both own one.
Tampa Bay is a nine point favorite and the over under sitting at 49.
Steve, what's going? What do you like in this game? I like the over, and I like the Buccaneers to bounce back and cover that line easily.
I watched Really? I watched a Panthers team that was very, very poor on defense yesterday versus the Las Vegas Raiders.
There was a lot of big gapping plays that they gave up the wide receivers that are half of what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers put out there.
So I think if you get Mike Evans back, you get Chris Kyle, I'm going.
I think that there's gonna be a lot of opportunities for them to be able to get the ball downfield to do whatever they want to Dio.
I think Tom is gonna be coming in with a chip on his shoulder this week, so I think that offense is definitely gonna thrive more.
I think the Pampers are gonna be able to score some points against that team, but they're definitely probably gonna get blown out.
They weren't that impressive yesterday.
I really was kind of shocked that they actually did as well as they did against Las Vegas in that first game.
But you gotta head coach and Mack Matt Rule that is clearly offensive oriented.
I know they brought Joe Brady in from L s U The offensive look pretty good, but that defense was atrocious.
And I think you're going to really see the Buccaneers take advantage of that tomorrow.
Uh, Sunday we got Perry, asked him comments and juju singlehandedly lost me too.
Fancy matchups this week.
Sorry about that.
Can't drive the same players on every team.
That's why they used to have, like, a number that you could call on, Like pay for somebody to listen to your sad fantasy stories about when you lose.
So I don't know what that number is.
You're not gonna get any sympathy from us tonight because we got a goose egg in our lineup going right now, So I know how we ****ing we didn't play.
We play Courtland something, and they got they got zero.
But that's a risk you take eso get back to the Panthers and bucks, man, I like the over in this game 49.
Um, like you said, I think the buccaneers bounce back.
I got a little bit of something to prove another week of practice under their belt.
Try to get, get a rhythm going.
I think they put up big numbers.
When you saw the Las Vegas Raiders put up points against this Panthers defense.
I think the bucks will do just the same, but also the Panthers get a decent amount of points here because I just saw a Buccaneer steam struggle against album Camara, who now they're going against running back with the very similar skill set.
And Christian McCaffrey, um, you know, coming out of the backfield and what night Come on, I believe, had a couple of receiving touchdowns s.
I think McCaffrey presents the same difficulties against that defense s so I do think the Panthers will put up some points as well, But again, I do think it's a blowout.
I do think the Bucks role in this one.
So, um, the over is my best player.
But I could see them covering the night as well.
No, a font, 12 yard reception.
Have that prop tonight, 39 a half over.
Just like you know what? You're saying that right now just that was the first play.
Uh, next game we got, we got the Washington football team in the Arizona Cardinals, both one and all.
Um, Arizona's a minus 6.
5 favorite in the over under is 46 a half.
I'll start with this treatment.
I like Arizona in this game.
I like I like them toe win by more than a touchdown.
So I take them on a 6.5.
I love what they did.
Weak one. They took out my team.
The 40 Niners and the Cardinals look really good doing a column. Murray looks really good.
Ah, 100 yards rushing until he had those last couple of meals down.
Kneel down right around it down to 91 yards, brushing.
Which is good for your fantasy team, Steve, because took five points away from my team were playing each other, which I think is a blowout.
I think you I think I question this week, but that's just story for a different podcast.
Uh, but DeAndre Hopkins look at that connection, I think, DeAndre, because at 14 catches for 140 yards, 146 yards, eso they look like they're really they got it together over there in Arizona, Washington.
We'll see what they can dio.
I mean, they got a lot of like the scoring.
Like I said earlier, the Eagles had a lot of turnovers in their own territory, which gave short fields the Washington Washington was able to capitalize off of that.
I don't think Arizona is gonna turn over the ball that much to do that I think that take care of things at home and one by more than touchdown pound that under pound it.
What? Well, I mean, if if Arizona is gonna be able to hold the 40 Niners to 20 points at home, I do not think at home versus this Washington football team that this Washed group football team is gonna be able to put any sort of points up.
So I definitely think the play this week is Arizona, and I think that definitely the under is going to hit.
It looks it looks like it's gonna be attract me.
But I think Arizona's defense is a lot better than people give them credit for.
Obviously, you talked about the addition of DeAndre Hopkins on the other side for Arizona, so I definitely think that they're gonna be able to handle business.
But I just love that under so much, 46 seems so low, and I even love it even more than that.
I think it's probably gonna be something like maybe 24 6 24 9.
It's not gonna be impressive for Washington at all.
Next game we got the Chiefs and the Chargers.
Kansas City's 8.
5 point favorite, and then the over under in this game is 48 a half.
What do you think in this game, Steve? This is a tough one, because I'd like to.
I like to think the charges, They're gonna be a little competitive.
They've always seem like they play well against the Chiefs.
But, I mean, this isn't Yeah, This isn't your father's charges team.
They don't Philip Rivers anymore.
So bring charges, you know? So I mean, you're bringing in Tyrod Taylor.
Obviously, that offense is operates a little differently.
If the Chiefs can get out and get running and do what they do and are explosive, it's gonna be really tough for the charges to be able to catch back up.
I could definitely see something like a 28 17 final score.
So if you're gonna take any side, definitely take the Chiefs.
I really don't have a play on the total, though in this game at all.
Yeah, I'd say I don't really have a plan to total either.
I would say Kansas City might see and a half it just a simple. Aziz.
I think the Chiefs is just too much firepower for the Chargers.
I just don't think they'll be.
They'll be handled.
Be able to handle them.
Try to have some injuries on the defensive end.
Patrick Patrick Mahomes is gonna have a field day, just like he does against a lot of the teams in the NFL.
So I think just two more too much chiefs in this one, and I think they cover that spreading and a half there pretty easily.
We have the Ravens and the Texans.
Ravens Air seven point favorite.
The over under is 52 a half in this one.
Steve, Um, you think the I think the Ravens covered the seven points? Yes, I dio after what I saw yesterday and after what the Texans did on Thursday night, like, I definitely feel like the Ravens.
They're gonna be able to bounce back and continue to do what they do.
Specially, they're gonna be able to run the ball.
They're gonna be able to throw the ball.
While I think they are better than what they were last year, I do think their defense is definitely hurting them in a lot of more aspects, and I think that the Ravens are gonna want to definitely exploit that.
So a lot of people might might jump on that text inside just because of the home, the home field advantage.
But I just think you stick with the Ravens until until they prove you're wrong.
I just think that's the way it is.
I think it was a feeling that they lost in the divisional last year, and I think that you've got to remember everything that they did before.
Lamar Jackson Still the M v p.
And you looked great yesterday.
No, I believe I believe the same things gonna happen.
I think the Ravens do one of this game.
I don't think they're better than last year.
I just think they're more well rounded because they have a running game now.
I'm still got some.
Okay, you know, these receivers and Will Fuller just shot Watson, still one of the better quarterbacks in the league.
But again, I think it's just a similar Texans thing is like they just kind of hang around and then before you know what the last couple of weeks they went in the division and they sneak into the playoffs like I feel that's what we're gonna get out of the Texans, and that's what we get every year.
I don't think they can compete with the Ravens because the Ravens air that upper echelon teams team in the A F c um, just too much firepower there for them to handle.
I'm sure you like Ravens minus seven in this one.
Yeah, um, moving on.
We got the Sunday night game.
We got the New England Patriots at the Seattle Seahawks with no fans.
So you know that atmosphere is not going to be as bad as it usually is over in Seattle.
But Seattle's a four point favorite in the over.
Understand that? 45.
Steve, You know the residents Patriots guy, Man, what's gonna happen in this game? I love that.
Under I mean, I just watched the way the pace point out yesterday and the way the doing, the Patriots wanna play.
They want to keep the ball on the ground.
They want to keep the clock moving, I think, when it ultimately comes down to it, uh, Belichick just really doesn't want to limit how much.
Russell Wilson touches the ball because if he's able toe limit that, then obviously their training in the way, the right direction, they're not gonna beat Seattle in the Shootout.
I also don't think Seattle is going to be able to put up the kind of points that they put up against the Falcons, But I do think the Seahawks are in a great spot here to cover that for and that would probably be my play because I think you're getting a better line, because people are gonna be like, Well, you're still not betting against The Patriots is still not betting against Bill Belichick, and you know, most times you shouldn't.
But I just think that this is just kind of one of those things you're traveling across country.
You're playing a team that put you always plays well at home fans and no fans.
That really doesn't bother me.
And that Seattle offense look impressive to me yesterday, so I don't think the Patriots are gonna be able to do the same kind of damage that they did against the Dolphins as against the against that team.
So if I if I look at it from that side, then I gotta hope that the Patriots somehow are able to get the ball downfield and start throwing the ball.
And honestly, if they have to start doing that, I don't really feel comfortable in saying that they're going to be able to do well in that.
I also think that the game point against the Patriots is gonna be a little bit mawr. Understandable.
Now, I think Seahawks, they're gonna know that they're gonna be more run heavy.
They're gonna want to force the ball down the field.
And you might get a lot of stacked boxes on Sunday night just for that reason.
So I'm definitely gonna lead the under just because I don't think the Patriots is gonna be able to put up a lot of points.
And I honestly, if I had to take a side, I would take Seattle.
Yeah, I like the under as well as 45.
Like you said, the way the Pats wanna play, they want to slow things down.
They want to run the ball.
Now that they got camera running a lot of read option, they run the read option plays last year.
I mean, they had radios, their quarterback, but they ran 10 read option plays.
Yesterday s a lot of lot of running the ball.
A lot of trying to control the clock and whatnot.
And I also think Seattle come into this game, tries to get Chris Carson going and tries to run the ball knowing how well, knowing the second areas But Gilmour, um, and what not get more had to pick up this last week s Oh, I think they come out and they try to establish the run off.
The off the get go, um, which again, Again, is gonna make the clock run and long possessions and whatnot.
So I do like the under in this one.
And then finally we get to our Monday night game, which is the New Orleans Saints at the Las Vegas Raiders.
Um, New Orleans is a 5.
5 point favorite in the over under sitting at pretty high 51 a half.
What do you think goes on my next Monday night? Stephen, this one, I think I like the Raiders in that game.
I think it's gonna be really their first home game.
I I think that that offense is clicking.
Like I said, I don't think New Orleans did anything special yesterday versus Tampa Bay.
I just think Tampa Bay played that bad.
So I think that I think that lines a little inflated.
If I know anything about the Saints in their history, like when they go out on the road, they always that they might win.
But that game is gonna definitely gonna be tight.
So I would definitely win the side of the Raiders.
I think they're gonna be coming in with a little juice, especially after winning in Carolina yesterday and the way they want in Carolina yesterday.
So and as far as the total goes, I think if you're going to gamble, you got to take you over.
Because in my opinion, if the Raiders are going to be able to do anything because that defense look terrible, I don't I don't like I said, like, I'm not impressed with Carolina.
The fact that Carolina was little puppet as many points as they did was shocking, to say the least.
So I have to assume that the states are gonna be able to do what they want to do, especially with a similar running back in Alvin Kamara.
I'm sure I'm sure they're gonna do kind of the same things that they were able to do with Christian McCaffrey successful yesterday, So you'll definitely be able to see that.
But But I do. I do like the points.
Give me, Give me the points and And if you had to take a total, I would definitely game on the over.
Yeah, I like the points to, especially if Henry rugs comes back out.
The Henry Henry rugs had a good start to the game yesterday.
But if he comes back and plays, I do like the over the radio.
We're definitely gonna have to score to win this game.
Um, radios, defense didn't look all that great.
Eso the old line up those points to Christian McCaffrey and the Carolina Panthers.
And so I think the same to be able to put up some points.
I think you said Camargue is similar to McCaffrey, so I think tomorrow will have a good game like McCaffrey did against them.
And so I like more than anything.
I like the over for the 1.
5 in this game eso There's all are a lot of picks for Week two guys, Um, now for our last segment.
We didn't talk about it last week because they were off last week as faras golf, but we've got another major championship coming this week.
We have the U S.
Open over at Winged Foot, which is in New York.
Um, couple quick things about the course Wind foot club.
It's part 70 course, 7477 yards.
Um, it's got lot of undulations in the greens and very, very heavy rough.
You want to be a great part of this course and you want to stay in the fairway.
If you hit it in the rough, it's gonna be tough.
There's not a lot of hazards on this course, not a lot of water.
It's just a lot of people describe it as just 18 very difficult holes, just how the layout is and what not.
Um, this tournament has been held here.
S Open has been held that wing foot five previous times and 54 out of the five times the winner has finished over par Esso in 1929 Bobby Jones shot plus six and one of the playoff, 1959.
Billy Casper shot plus two and only one by one.
Hillary won one in 1974 at plus seven, and the margin of victory was to uh 1984 fuzzies.
One is the only player to ever shoot under par here and winning that minus four.
He wanted the playoff in 2006 Jeff over the most recently time.
This was the Phil ****elson meltdown that you got plans fans probably remember, but he shot plus five and one by one point.
Eso Steve, that's kind of crazy to hear that.
I've never heard that stat today, and I was like That blows my mind that these guys, the best golfers in the world, that this is, of course, that's consistently gotten the best of the golfers.
What do you like going into this week? And and you know, a lot of these guys coming in and had a week off and whatnot.
So rest and relax and get ready for this event.
What could usually happen in the second major of the year? Well, obviously, all these majors air happening a lot later than than what they normally would.
So I have to think that, like, that's gonna play a little factor into it.
Like these greens are gonna definitely be a lot harder to handle.
These courses are what we've seen in the past, like month, month and a half.
These guys have hopped on courses that I don't think I had.
Any idea we're gonna play this stuff is They did, and these players really struggled.
But the one guy it seems like that has performed very, very well in these formats, where these golf courses have played really hard and he's been ableto do.
What needs to do is genre.
John Graham has seemed to be ableto just kind of keep himself around.
And then on Saturday, moving day, he shoots like an impressive 67.
And I think that if you go out there and you shoot a three under any day at this course, you're gonna put yourself right at the top of the leaderboard and give yourself a chance.
Now, obviously, Rahm is one of the top favorites, but rightfully so he should be.
He's done all he's done enough this year, winning two Thio tournaments to be able to put himself in there, and I definitely like the way his game sets up with this course and the kind of player that he is.
He'll definitely be able to figure it out.
And I think if you have the idea coming in that that even might win you the the U.
I think that sets up well for John Rub.
There's a couple of numbers that I like this week.
If if we wanted to, like, go down the board, there's guys like Adam Scott that I've watched play a lot this year that have put it tremendously.
And if you're gonna go in and play a tough course like this, you have to be able to make sure that you don't lose strokes around on the green because, like Mark said, like you, you haven't aren t shot.
You go into these rough, so like you're gonna be scrambling.
You gotta make sure you're really have a good putter.
So Adam Scott's been pretty solid since he came back over and started playing the time.
So I think his numbers 40 toe one this week.
That's definitely something that I'm going to be targeting.
I just like the way his game sets up.
And if we're gonna be talking about guys that need to stick around, even have a chance.
He's definitely a guy that never blows up and never not.
Does not not give himself a chance to be able to at least be in the tournament or play on the weekend and another guy like up top.
Long way to return.
Thomas Pieters, Ida Wait for Thomas Peters to be able to finally come over here.
I've been talking about Thomas Pieters for months.
I've been following Thomas Pieters on the Euro and Thomas Pieters.
Has this been doing Thomas Pieters things, and finally I get to see him.
I think his odds right now are 1 75 toe. One.
He's definitely He's definitely a guy that can can hit the ball deep.
He's definitely pretty clever around around the greens, and I definitely think as a long shot that guy plays solidly enough where he might just come out of nowhere and he might do some special things.
If you don't feel comfortable in doing that, I'm sure you'll get some good prices on the top 20.
I definitely think he'll be there.
All in all this is gonna be a really difficult course this week.
So I don't think anybody really has a really good say or could be on who's gonna win this week just because, you know, it could really go either way.
I definitely think that if you're looking for out rights, maybe stick around and wait till Saturday night just to kind of see how the board kind of draws itself out and see if you can possibly get any good value on somebody that's off the leader.
Because I highly doubt that whoever goes into the clubhouse is the leader on Saturday night is gonna win this tournament on Sunday.
So that's the kind of like value that I like to say.
I want to see a guy that might be two strokes back that might be able to get like plus 700 plus $800 because at least you know he's gonna be in the tournament when it comes to that point.
So that's kind of what I was looking at. Another guy.
I'm a hoping that he gets it He's an alternate right now.
He's first alternate Doc Redmond, and I'm assuming that you're gonna get his number at 2 50 to 1 and when he assumes he comes in.
So he's another guy that I like.
I know a lot of getting McCarthy this week.
No, Danny McCarthy This week.
I know a lot of people are gonna be on Tommy Fleetwood.
I know he just put a good round.
I think it was in Portugal or somewhere.
He just like all of a sudden I looked at his odds.
He should be like 55 toe one this week.
I think he's sitting at 35 to 1 right now, so that will be a hot ticket.
And with one guy that always seems to play well in the U.
Open, that's so overly due for a major Xander, sharply.
I definitely think that he's the kind of guy that can definitely show up and put it all together, and especially in a format like this, so I wouldn't sleep on that.
So those are the guys that I'm rolling with this week.
E got top of the board for me.
Um, I'm looking at two guys that have played really well, um, this year on guys that drive the ball pretty well. Daniel Berger.
Um, I know we talked about him a lot, and I've mentioned his name a lot on this podcast, but I just really like how he's playing this year.
Andi. I think he can.
You find a lot of fairways.
He's been like I said, arguably the most consistent call for this year.
He's one already this year, so I do like him coming in.
I do like calm or cover the most recent PJ major championship at the PGA.
I just heard a interview with him, Um, when he was talking about how the first time you start Tiger after his major and Tiger was like, Hey, what's up, Major champion? He said something along with a welcome to the club, Like I just made Colin feel like he belongs.
And it just made him so hungry to get that next major championship and have multiple major championships.
So I think he comes into this horn of with that mindset.
You know, he was saying, you know, now I see why these players worry about the majors more so on get prepared for the majors more so than they do regular tournaments as because it's just a different level.
When you win them, you're just on a different level than a lot of the other golfers s.
So I think he comes, you know, with a little bit of edgy comes into this tournament, and I think he plays well.
Um, and then one guy that I'm looking at that has, um, a little bit higher odds is the defending champion, Gary Woodland, um, 70 to 1 this week.
I think if he gets his driver going, I know a few weeks ago or a month ago, he was testing a new driver back at the PGA Championship.
Eso if he get that thing going.
He showed it at Pebble Beach last year in the U.
Open and tough, tough weather conditions.
Hey, definitely has what it takes.
Tow win a major championship.
And I think if he gets that like I said, that driver going, you can stay in the fairway.
He has an opportunity to go low this week, and I like those odds at 70 to 11 a little bit of money there.
Okay, I like it. No.
So it's gonna be fun.
One of golf is is exactly.
I'm just stunned, though.
Like you're not gonna bring up Eldrick.
No, no, I'm not even not even and restricted the one like e when I got here.
There's no reason to bring up Eldrick.
You're just losing.
He's just gonna lose.
So I mean, that's you.
I mean, that's you saying that.
So, I mean, that's the way you feel.
I mean, you didn't bring them up either, because I was waiting for you to bring them up. You love Eldrick.
That's all you do love, Eldrick, but I just I'm not gonna throw some money on him because I said that last, like, bunch of tournaments he played.
And I was like, Oh, you gotta bet Tiger.
And like he just doesn't show when the Masters comes.
Rickie Fowler talk.
No Tiger Woods talk.
It's just very unusual for you, that's all.
Dude, Ricky Ricky cannot find the fairway like hey, sucks off the t.
Think about how bad George Pizza is gonna play this Jordan speeches.
Jordan Smith head to heads.
I guess Yeah, exactly.
He's gonna get in that rough man he's gonna or follow is what's gonna happen.
Follow will play lights out top five going into the weekend and then Ricky follows Saturday.
Boom! Or he gets the lead going into Sunday and does that or he just doesn't make the ****ing cut.
That's what's gonna happen on that, Eldrick.
I mean, Elsa could not make the cut when we've seen him come out and just play terrible in these tournaments.
Sometimes I mean, practicing at Winged Foot.
For the past two weeks, I've been tailing him, so he hasn't been doing anything else.
But these kinds of put these courses so many times in their career just terrible.
Also, I don't think I'll drink.
I do like the 50 to 1, though.
I like the 55 to 1 for folic.
I think those they want, they want the casual better to be like exactly what, exactly what, exactly Wait till Saturday night.
You'll find good numbers for my promise.
Yeah, that might be almost better to wait till the weekend and see where you get as far as I was going into Saturday.
