We had baseball had everything going on.
Josh, how was your first NFL Week one Sunday? It was refreshing, man, just to be ableto watch nonstop football.

Just just embracing football, being back.

Now we got we got to start it off, you know? You know what it is? Do you have a guess Who I dio ideo.
Don't see if I were both one and one so far, we both were.
Both want to know, I should say, Actually, I've got mine.
You've gotten yours, so we're going to see how this one goes.
I'm gonna I got to stop.
Watch up right now.
So when you read that at the end of your first hint, I'm gonna I'm gonna start it.
Our second and Heisman voting in 2007.
Think about a man. It's a while back.
I was drafted fourth overall in 2000 and eight out of Arkansas.
I don't know anything about college sports.
You're killing me so far.
In my career, I played with the Raiders and the cowboy, Raiders and cowboys.
Oh, God, I don't even have a player thought right now I'm about to help you out with this one.
I'm considered a very big running back bust running back bust.
See, My first thought always goes to Trend Richardson.
But I know that's not 2007.
I'm not that dumb.
You think about the team, So think about the teams I say Raiders and who you said Cowboys.
Yeah, Yeah, I'm not sure.
I mean, my last tent is he was very injury prone throughout his career.
You know, I'm not gonna lie.
I think you got me stumped on this one.
I'm trying to think, riel.
I'm probably gonna know it after you say it, but I can't even Yeah, you'll be upset that you didn't get it.
I'm not even Well, you know what? That's a minute.
That's the first l so far.
You know what? He didn't even pop into my head.
I forgot all about him.
Actually, I forgot he was given a person **** mhm.
What a guy I do You know what Now you say, though I do remember him on the Cowboys for that short little time, and I don't know why it was weird, because that was kind of like right after DeMarco Murray left.
So everyone kind of, that's what. Wow.
I was gonna be now, cowboy.
It was Darren McFadden and somebody else.
That was that They tried to replace the Margaret Murray with Who was a It was like, uh, was that Alfred Morris? Yeah.
Alfred Morris offered Morris they signed him to.
That was actually Alfred Morris was one of the He was the guy I picked before Darren McFadden tohave.
You know, I maybe I would have gotten him. ****.
All right, just stop me on that.
I'm gonna get I'll give you props on that one, but moving on, we're gonna go deep dive into NFL Week one, as we both said, you know, it was refreshing toe. Have it back.
I know. That's all I did yesterday.
It consisted of laying on the couch, watching football for the 10 for the 10 plus hours that I absolutely did.
And then even after that, of course, we had our We got Alex and Cory wrap it up on us.
And after the Sunday night game.
You know, obviously watching the talk shows this morning, things like that.
There's many, many stories to dive into, but I'm just gonna run down the slate.
You know, our thoughts on everything like that first game I'm seeing is the Bills and the Jets.
I don't know how much of that you watched, but if you have any thoughts on that, I mean, I just saw a bunch of Josh Allen doing crazy stuff, either flipping or overthrowing receivers wide open in the end zone.
But, I mean, I think he did pretty good.
I think against the Jets.
I mean, Sam, Donald look like he just He was just struggling out there.
The whole offense look bad.
Losing Levy on Bell really hurt them, too.
I mean, we both said that the Bills, we're gonna beat the Jets pretty bad, and that's pretty much what happened.
I like the running back room that the Bills had.
I thought they were working really well out there, So a little bit of improvement and Josh Allen, but not as much as I thought I would see.
But overall, I was impressed with the Bills and the Jets, Jets or the Jets.
Yeah, the Jets will Gia.
And of course, you know, being from New York, I probably watched more of it than I even wish I would have.
You know, the final score, that game.
You look at it, it's not too bad.
But that does not tell the story of the game whatsoever.
The Bills, the Bills really dominated the game.
And, like you said, Sam, Donald just hasn't improved.
You know, there were spots.
Hey, you came out of, Ah, TV time out.
The Jets did, and they get a delay game.
How do you come out of a TV time out, time out in general and get a delay a game? That's just that's just not smart football.
That's terrible football like you.
I don't think Adam Gaze is gonna make it through this season that if he does, I think it's ah goodbye for him in the off season.
I don't know about you.
You know, Adam, you know, because you even look at even look at Miami.
They got rid of Adam case and don't get me wrong.
They're not, You know, Super Bowl contenders by any means or anything like that.
I don't even think people are gonna pick them to win, you know, division, games and things like that.
But I think that the Dolphins gonna be improving over the over the next couple of years.
And I honestly think that they're probably end up being better than the Jets in the long run.
So I don't know where really Adam gays fits anymore.
You're supposed to be this big offensive guy, but when you look at the Jets, they're the team that usually struggles on offense.
I think they were the only team.
I might have heard it wrong, but I'm pretty sure who did today that the Jets were like the only team in the entire NFL you actually, I didn't have over, like, 250 or 70 complete total yards.
So if you're in all big offensive person, I don't know how you're the only team in the NFL.
And if you look at it, who played worse than the Jets yesterday? The Browns.
But you know, the Browns, we kind of expected that because you're going up against a team that everybody thinks it's going to be in the A F C championship game or the Super Bowl.
So you know you can kind of give the Browns, uh, pass on that one.
But and the Bills, we think, are probably gonna win the division.
I mean, I know at least picked up the win the division, but it's not like they're Super Bowl bound, either.
And, you know, I probably think they're year two away from, you know, seriously contending things like that.
But the gestures didn't show up yesterday.
Yeah, I mean, the only good thing you could take away from a fan's point of view for the Jets is that Frank Gore got six carries.
I mean, that's the other than that.
There's not a lot to be happy about watching the Jets lately.
No, there is not moving on.
Packers Vikings final score.
The Packers take that one.
You know, high scoring game, Week one, things that you love to see what you think I told you.
First episode. Aaron Rodgers.
That man is he's on a mission.
This year he's, I mean, 364 yards and four touchdowns But, I mean, it's still gonna be a struggle for him because Davante Adams is still his only receiver out there.
He had 14 catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns.
I mean, defense is we're going to start double teaming him a lot more because it was clear yesterday that it's just Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams.
Erin Jones played solid, but overall, it was just the Aaron Rodgers show out there and they're offensive blind.
I mean, David, victory handled, handled who they just trade for her.
The Vikings. Johnny got away.
Yeah, he handled him really well.
And the Vikings offense? I mean, they came out.
Ah, lot more explosive than I thought they would.
You could see they missed Stefon Diggs. Quite a bad Adam.
Feeling was was big for them yesterday.
Dalvin Cook was really good.
I was impressed with him, but yeah, like you said, it was a high scoring game.
It was it was entertaining to watch.
And I think these two are probably gonna be battling toe win the division because unfortunately, the lines just have the worst luck in the world.
But it was a really good game overall. I was impressed.
You know, Aaron Rodgers did come out firing for sure.
You know, like you said, over 300 yards, four touchdowns.
I thought that they would get Erin Jones more involved because, you know, like you said, he played solid.
I just thought he'd be more involved in general.
Anyway, uh, there he came on a lot last year, so I thought that they would give him a bigger share of the offense to start off this year because I think last year in the beginning of the year, they were just kind of if he about him.
But I think he showed he proved what he could do last year.
So I thought they would give him more, but they didn't end up doing that.
Like you said, Adam the only came up big for the Vikings.
And, you know, Donald Cook had those two touchdowns, but I don't I don't Can't let me take a look here how many yards he had.
But I thought that he would be more involved too.
I think that, like you said, they're gonna be They're gonna end up battling for the division.
This year is gonna go back and forth yet that Yeah, that will.
Cook only had 50 yards yesterday.
And, you know, for the Vikings, you can look at this two kind of ways.
You can look at it as you scored 34 points, which in the NFL is usually gonna be enoughto toe win you the game.
You know, the Vikings defense obviously struggled, but you are going against, you know, Aaron Rodgers.
You people, you know, rank up there is one of the better quarterbacks of all time, so you can kind of give them a pass for that.
And I think that the Vikings defense will improve over time.
They didn't have Who is who is out for this game? It was one of the bigger pass rushers was out.
Yeah, he got put on the i r.
Daniel Hunter was at it.
Yeah, Daniel Hunter, he got put on the are like, Yeah, so they didn't have to deal Hunter.
I mean, that was Janex.
First game for them there, so it might take a little bit of time for everybody to get settled.
I mean, I know it's not like in GAC Way is A is a wide receiver.
You gotta learn a route tree and everything like that, but it's still it's gonna take you a little bit time.
And when they get to know Hunter back, who was a new animal last year, I'm sure that that defense is gonna improve a lot just based on that.
But you could look at it two ways, as if I can span.
It's that way of you scored 34 points and you know Dalvin Cook only had 50 yards, but you would think that he's going to get more involved right over the course of years.
The two touchdowns.
But 50 yards isn't really what you're expecting from him.
I think that he's Ah ah, high volume, you know, lead back.
Who's going to get You should be getting at least 20 carries because I think that offense works best off play action.
It's definitely not a running gun.
Throw the football down the field type of team.
In my opinion, at least, I think it works best when it's Dalvin.
Cook is, you know, running down.
Everybody on 1st, 2nd down, 34 yards, everything like that and then you can get the linebackers to move up.
You get the safeties and move up a little bit to try to help everybody like that.
And then you can hit him over the top with Adam feeling.
But I don't know if they're gonna be able to do that as well this year, either, though, because, like you said, they got reduced to fund Diggs, who was definitely there deep threat.
So it's gonna be It'll be interesting for them to watch as well.
Aaron Rodgers, like you said it came and showed out.
So it was a fun week.
One game for them, for sure.
Yeah, definitely got to get Dalvin Cook more involved.
I think they really just looked at him when they got in the red zone.
That's where he got those two touchdowns on the goal line and stuff.
But I mean, it was nice to see them just kind of like Kirk cousins loose and just throw the ball up.
But if they really wanna win, like you said, they've got to be going off Play action established the run they got.
They got to use Dalvin Cook.
They paid him for a reason.
They need him to be a workhouse workhorse for them this year like he was last year.
And listen, Dalvin, I'm not complaining in case you're watching, because you're two touchdowns totally saved me in fantasy.
So I appreciate you shout out, Shout out, Taliban cook! Next was a game that I actually watched watched ah, lot of and which also, I hope, you know, let me not go to extreme here.
But I hope unwrapped has bail money set aside for me because I had the Eagles in a big parlay.
And let me tell you, when it was 17 nothing.
I started counting my money.
And then all of a sudden, when it's 27 17 at the end of the game, I was a little upset.
So I'm gonna you know, it was I watched a lot of that game yesterday.
That's honestly the game that I kind of focused on just because, uh, that's that's what was on TV and things like that.
My brother was over.
He's an Eagles fan, So, uh, that offensive line for the Eagles was just absolutely manhandled yesterday.
It wasn't even fair half.
Half of the time, you know, they had eight sacks and don't get me wrong the way we look at the Redskins and we don't think they're going to be that good because I think all the Redskins, I mean, the Washington football team, I bet, but we look at them and we don't think they're gonna be that good.
But you look at their defensive line.
They have five first round picks on the defensive line, so it's not like they're struggling for talent in that department.
We obviously have the number two overall.
Pick Chase Young there now Montes sweat is there, you know? So they got.
They definitely got some boys on that on that defensive line.
And Dwayne Haskins didn't look bad yesterday.
I mean, he did what he had to do.
He won them the game. That's all you could really ask for.
Scary Terry and him are going to be quite the connection for however long.
You know, everybody is there and things like that.
But Carson, I think the main focus of this game is just that Eagles offensive line.
I know they had some injuries on that.
I don't know what it is.
It's like the Eagles are the Yankees of the NFL, where they just can't get healthy at one point altogether at one time.
The only time they might be healthy is on Madden and things like that.
So I don't really know what's going on with them, but they had some backup lineman and things like that.
But Carson once was running for his life, the entire game and when he wasn't running for his life because he was already on the ground.
He started off hot.
And then I think the Redskins defensive line just came together and said, You know, we're not gonna let this happen and they shot him down.
He in the second half of the game, he didn't really play his best.
Uh, had those two interceptions, was kind of turn things around for the Redskins, for sure, and, uh, ended up losing that game.
Yeah, I mean, when you're already pretty weak at receiver and you don't have a lot of targets to throw to you, at least need time to throw the ball.
But he just he had no time yesterday and and it was just It was ugly toe watch because they brought back Jason Peters after they lost Lane Johnson and that old line is just all messed up because Jason Peters isn't even playing his normal position like it's just it's tough to watch because they're really talented team.
I mean, they can go far if that offensive line protects Carson Wentz.
But I was impressed with how the Washington football team took advantage of the week offensive line.
I mean, Chase Young looked really good out there.
Montas sweat looked good.
Ryan Kerrigan looked good, but I think it just came down to pass protection.
And Carson Wentz just the second he caught the ball, even in shock, and he was rolling out the pocket because he knew he wouldn't have time to throw.
But I think they're gonna have to in some way address that, whether it's going and finding some offensive line in free agency, that can help you there or just finding some way toe, maybe get him to get the ball out quicker, make it shorter, reads or try to establish the run game, or I know they didn't have their main running back in that game.
So Boston Scott was getting a lot of the carries, which is just It just sucks for the Eagles But I think I'm just impressed with Washington's defense.
They took advantage of the week offense and played really well out there.
But they got to get Carson Wentz, Um, help.
It's It's definitely a struggle for him.
You know, Miles Sanders, like you said, didn't start, so that's kind of a loss for them.
And I saw a lot of people getting high on Boston Scott, but he didn't.
It wasn't it wasn't a terrible game for him by any means, but I think that they probably expected more from him in general.
But, yeah, Carson Carson is gonna definitely need some more time to throw the ball because I don't think going into this season that's what he expected from his offensive line at all.
And I heard them saying during the broadcast, they hit a few deep balls and I think they kind of fell in love with it that, you know, throughout the course of the of the game, they kind of started going back to it instead of the over the middle throws.
Dallas got it, actually had a really good game for them.
He scored a touchdown.
I believe you had over 100 yards.
He was definitely more involved with Zach Ertz.
And that might be the situation to watch for as well, because I saw I saw yesterday.
I can't remember who reported it.
But Zacher has got into a heated discussion.
They'll call it with the G m of the Eagles about his contract about his contract.
So I don't know how that you know relationship is gonna pan out for in the long run, Especially if Dallas Goddard is gonna play that good.
I don't know if the Eagles they're just gonna move on from Zach Ertz, which I would lean towards being a mistake because I think too tight ends that you can do.
Ah, lot of things are obviously good for you.
I think I don't think you can never have too much talent on the offensive side of football as we can look at with the Chiefs after.
Ah, lot of people say that they need to defense in in the first round of the draft, they said we'll take the running back, so I don't think you could never really have too much offense in the NFL.
And Zach Ertz is in my opinion, One of the better tight ends in the NFL.
Probably top five for sure, in my opinion, at least so.
But if that was, God's gonna play like that.
Zacharias wants his money and they're gonna get into a heated discussion and things like that.
I don't I don't know how long that relationship is gonna last.
I think I think it's nice to have two tight ends like that because Dallas got er, isn't I mean he's much more than a tight end.
He could go out there and play receiver.
That's how talented he is.
And Zach Ertz is much more of a tight end like a prototypical short hooks crosses across the middle tight end, just catches those short passes and does really good in that.
I think what we saw yesterday, I mean, they both got two touchdown.
They're both getting a lot of looks, so hopefully they can fix that because I think that be nice for them since they're already weak at receiver, toe have policed to good pass catching tight ends.
Now we'll move on to the slaughter of the week.
That was the Ravens and the Browns.
That was just, uh not what you wanted to see.
As the former Yankee manager, Joe Girardi used to say, Uh, the Browns got killed.
I mean, I know, like I said before, the Ravens were probably expected to be in the A F C championship game, so I don't know how much you can read into it.
I think that the Ravens have the potential of 15 and 1 14 and to football team.
So I had them winning the game for sure.
But I didn't think that because of the Browns gave them Ah, hard time last year.
It wasn't always an easy win for the Ravens last year, and we all We obviously know how good the Ravens were last year, anyway.
But that was just an absolute man handling, you know, the final score ended up being like I said 38 to 6.
Baker didn't really do much.
Uh, Lamar Jackson did Lamar Jackson things.
I believe you had three touchdowns.
Hollywood look good at over 100 yards.
Mark Andrews had two touchdown.
So it looked like the typical you know, Ravens team that we kind of all expected Yeah, on our picks and, uh our first episode.
We did our picks. I don't know if you counted up.
I counted up our records after it.
And you did much better than I did.
Oh, I didn't Even I didn't even think about that.
How? What the people know.
How did we dio? I didn't.
I literally did not know.
I didn't even know you were keeping track.
Yeah, I did that today.
But you went nine and four.
No, pretty solid.
I was six and seven.
I went six and seven. I picked the Browns.
I thought I thought Bake Show was coming out.
I thought he was gonna put on a show. I thought him in. Odell.
We're finally going to get on the same page, but the exact opposite happened.
I mean, we already knew that that that Ravens defense is gonna be very tough.
I mean, that z their defense could arguably be talked about more than their in their offense.
But Baker Mayfield just couldn't get on page within his receivers.
Kareem Hunt, Nick Chubb.
They did as much as they could against that dominant defensive line.
But, I mean, the Browns, I mean, that's what they do they get you hot.
Yeah, but I mean, the Ravens.
Just Lamar, Like you said, Lamar did Lamar things.
He still had 45 yards rushing, which is like an average day for him.
But it's just the Browns Brown's.
We're gonna Brown and the Ravens are definitely a Super Bowl contender this year.
Still, like you said, I could see them winning 15 14 games.
I mean, it was just establishing their dominance that this is their division on.
They're not gonna let up this whole season.
Yeah, the I thought that, like you said, I thought Baker would come out and be better.
I was kind of high on the Browns this year.
I mean, I was last year, too, and that kind of didn't really work out too well for me anyway.
But this is a it's a make it or break a year for them.
I know Baker is on his fourth coach in what, three seasons, so I'm kind of going to give him a break on that one, too.
But they got they definitely didn't look like the playoff team that I thought that they would or hoped for.
Yeah, I mean, there's just not a lot to say about it was just ugly.
Now I think this was This was the shocker of the week for May.
This is the Colts and the Jaguars game.
I think everybody going into this week kind of wrote this game off as a as a don't watch and as an easy win for the Colts, especially with their defense.
Philip Rivers coming in, we thought would would be good for them.
And we just didn't expect that Jackson do much because while they traded everybody that had talent on their team, so then then taking the wind was kind of surprised.
I don't know how you looked at it, but what are your What are your thoughts on that? I mean, honestly, I I did not expect the Jaguars toe do that.
I don't think anyone did.
But Gardner Minshew continues to prove the Doubters wrong and continues to show that he is a legit quarterback in the NFL power of the Stashes.
They say, I mean Minshew mania 19 of 20 for 173 yards and three touchdowns and that's with keel and coal is your number one receiver and he don't care chart like that man deejay charges.
I like healing cold better right now.
Okay, But Philip Rivers, Philip Rivers.
He still had 360 yards and a touchdown, but I don't know.
He made some very questionable decisions out there.
I just think obviously he's getting older.
I don't want to say he's falling off because he still showed he has all the arm talent in the world, But I think it's it's gonna be in adjusting, period because he's he's been with the Chargers for so long, and now he's got a whole new offense toe learn.
He's got to build a relationship with T Y Hilton and his other receivers, But I mean, it wasn't a bad game that's still put up 20 points.
I think losing Marlon Mack really hurts because I really like their 300 monsters back there with Jonathan Taylor, 19 Heinz.
But I mean, at least I still have two running backs back there.
It was just a surprise to see Jacksonville just come out there and having offense like that.
But I mean, I guess we got to stop doubting mention mania.
Yeah, I mean, clearly meant you Any is on his way to M V P season, though.
I'm kidding. I'm completely kidding.
Everybody calm down.
And I'm sure the comments were about to explode.
But no, it was It was a shocker.
For May I I looked at that game.
I'm pretty sure the Colts had a lead at first.
And then somebody told me Oy.
Well, so I think we were talking in the in the group chat.
They were like, Oh, jags cold.
And I was like, I was like, What do you guys talking about? Jazz, colts and culture? Probably destroying them.
And I look up and men, She was 19 or 20 and I said, I don't know what the hell happened because, you know, I nobody I don't think anybody here expected that toe happen.
Like you said, Philip Rivers played all right. Yeah, for sure.
But those two interceptions is kind of what killed him in in, uh, with the chargers, and it's going to kill him with the Colts as well.
You can't throw, you know, too bad interceptions.
You can have all the yards in the world.
But if you're if you're turning the ball over just look at what happened with James.
That's kind of why he's out of the starting job right now.
Yeah, James has all of the arm town in the world, but when you're going 30 for 30 and we're not talking about the ESPN do***entaries, that z kind of a bad look for you, but yeah, it was a shock.
And I think, like, I think you're right about that too.
Going out for them is probably gonna hurt that little bit.
But as a lot of people are, I'm also high on Jonathan Taylor.
So I think that he's just gonna go right in there and take over that lead back for sure.
And then you have you have hinds as kind of your receiving back change of pace back type of person.
But that was definitely my biggest surprise of week one.
I think everything else it might have been, you know, there might have been other games that surprised you a little bit this or that, but I don't think anybody was expecting a 27 20 loss for the Colts of anything.
Maybe if you thought the game would be closer, but I definitely did not see the Colts losing that game.
Even with you know, we talked about it a lot.
With Brady going to the Bucks and things like that.
We're gonna take a little bit of time to get familiar with the offense, and it is the exact same thing for Philip Rivers.
Like you said, It's a new system, everything like that.
But I think Brady gets more of a past playing the Saints.
Then Rivers does playing the Jags where, like I said, they traded everybody.
They traded their, you know, probably their best player on defense and in Dhaka way that, you know, it's definitely not the team from a few years ago that went to the A F C championship game, so that was definitely a big surprise for me.
Yeah, I don't know if I don't think either of them really get a pass and more Brady.
I mean, they're two of the best to ever do it.
They should be able to adjust, so I mean, that's why there's a little bit of disappointment and there's performance.
But you know what I mean.
Just you shouldn't lose to the Jags this year.
It's pretty much that simple with that defense, especially especially considering that everybody thought that that coming into the season, the Jags were the lock for the number one overall pick.
And honestly, I probably still think I still know.
I still think that they are, you know, as bad as it sounds.
I think they're the favorite for having the worst season this year, but it was definitely weak.
One is always full of surprises.
What can I say? You know, that's why betting and predictions and things like that Week one or usually so weird, because you never really know what's gonna happen.
You really can't be anybody on any day now.
We'll go to a game that is near and dear to your heart.
Let's go to the Raiders and the Panthers.
I'll let you take the take the reins on this one.
You know, even though we lost, I was still very impressed with the offense.
Uh, Teddy Bridgewater looked really good out there.
I thought our three receivers did really good.
Robby Anderson was dominant.
That game found a way to get open consistently.
I really thought we should have gotten Christian McCaffrey more involved in the first half.
I think we need to establish him like obviously they know he's going to get the ball a lot, so we got to give him the ball a lot so that they attack that and that opens up a lot more down field for our receivers, and that's kind of what happened in the second half.
That's why Robby Anderson was able to get that deep.
Touchdown is because we're going to McCaffrey almost every down.
And it was it was nice to see in the second half.
I like the offense we had in the second half, obviously, our defense.
We knew that was going to be an issue this year.
I mean, starting three rookies out, four rookies, including the defensive line.
It's gonna be tough all year.
It's just gonna be getting them involved.
More growing them.
But the Raiders offense look nice.
I mean, Derek Carr did get out there.
Josh Jacobs did what he does.
It sucks to see Henry rugs go down because he was having a really good game.
But I really did not like our very last drive of the game.
I mean, we got McCaffrey the ball twice, and then we gave it to him a third time.
Got 1/4 and one.
Why don't you just give it to him again? Get the first down.
But now we went with a fullback dive and didn't even get to the line of scrimmage.
It was just I didn't like that part.
Definitely thought we should have bothered throwing the ball on third down.
Or at least you give it to McCaffrey on fourth and one. That's why he's there.
You know he's going to fight for that one yard to get the first down.
But I was impressed with the game.
You know, I thought it was a really good game from both teams.
I don't expect us to do amazing this year, but I am satisfied with how the offense was run with the first game of the year.
It was definitely the battle of the running backs.
Yesterday, Josh Jacobs looked like he's not a mission to prove that he should have won rookie of the year last year, which I voted for you, Josh O shout out my man, proving me right.
But yeah, I completely agree.
I thought McCaffrey was gonna be a lot more involved.
You know, last year, just seeing how much of the workhorse he clearly was he needs.
He needs touches.
He's the best player on your team, for sure, in my opinion, at least, especially on at least on offense.
If you don't want to give a team, you can at least the offense.
But I think it's for the team as well.
You know, he runs routes like a wide receiver, obviously wearing that from from his dad.
And but he's just a great running back in general, and I thought they would get him a lot more involved.
But the Raiders, I'll give.
I'll give them props.
Their offense looked looked better than and even I thought it would.
Like you said, it sucks that rugs went down because he was.
He was pretty fun to watch for a little bit.
But man was Josh Jacobs, just on a different level yesterday.
You know him and McCaffrey going back and forth back and forth a lot of touchdowns between the two of them yesterday.
McCaffrey had to, I believe, did Jacobs have three Jacob set? Yeah. You had three.
So it was definitely.
You know, look at that.
You just look at five touchdowns combined from the running back.
So it was definitely a battle between them yesterday, and I think we're going forward.
The Panthers are definitely again McAfee more involved.
I think that the first half just proves that you have to in general, because, like you said, he wasn't involved as a lot of people probably thought he would be in that first half.
But in the second half, they came out, gave him the ball arm or out of the backfield.
You know, passes, you know, runs everything like that.
And that's how what you said before, Bridgewater ended up with that long touchdown because, you know, you can look at when Bridgewater was healthy with Minnesota or when he was with the Saints last year when Breeze went down.
He's never really been a down field kind of guy.
I remember the joke about him was always at his hand off his 99 with 99 overall rating, so it was definitely that's what he used to do, do a lot.
I think that's what he's gonna end up doing a lot in.
In Carolina, it's McCaffrey or die for the Panthers offense.
I know you guys have some receivers that that you're happy with, for sure, with Robby Anderson and Samuel and people like that.
But it's definitely the McCaffrey show over there.
So you get him involved and it's like anything else.
And it's what we said with the Vikings are probably gonna end up doing, too.
You give McCaffrey a bunch of touches, you get everybody to creep up on the defense thinking that look, if they're going to run the ball again, this that and then you throw it over the top for a 75 yard touchdown.
So they didn't look bad.
It was it was honestly closer than I thought it was gonna be.
I had the Raiders winning that game, but I didn't think it would be as close as it was.
You came down so, like you said the last parts of the game, that I don't know what they were thinking on that fourth and one call, though that one, because, you know, I wasn't I wasn't watching it at that point, but I saw in the chat like, you know, all of our group chat and things like that talking about.
I don't know what Matt rules thinking.
I went back and watched it.
When you When you have one of the better offensive players in the league and you give it to your full back for a full back dive, it's definitely gonna we pop up to some questions, for sure.
I mean, like like I get it fourth and one.
That's usually where a fullback or big bat comes in.
But like like you said, that's that's got to be a mat recall because because I know Joe Brady was not like fullback.
Dive here like there's no way, like, I just I just don't get it.
You know you have Christian McCaffrey.
There's no way he doesn't get you that one yard, even if it's right up the middle, he's he's tough.
He can run up through the gut, and I just I just don't get it.
But you know, I'm over it.
Week one, done with.
Not gonna not gonna live on Just not gonna not gonna hate my life for a week.
1/4 and one call.
Uh, next we move on to the bears and the Lions That was that ended up being, ah, game.
That was very surprising, because I remember I was watching the games with my brothers yesterday, you know, here.
And I saw that the lions were up.
I think it was 21 or 22 3 at one point, and then one of my brothers like, Oh, yeah, look at the look of the lion game.
I was like, What are you talking about there? They're getting killed.
And he's like, No, they're not blah, blah.
And I looked at the and I looked at the score and next thing you know, the Bears air are tied, tied the game, and that was just a back and forth crazy game.
And then, you know, after I don't know what game went final, but they showed the ending off the Lions game live.
And, man, you got to feel from that staff for just a little bit.
I know that, you know, they were up big in that fourth quarter, so you can't, you know, completely blame it on that play.
But he threw ah, back shoulder, pass, toe his running back, and you just dropped it in the end zone.
so that definitely has to hurt Lions fans.
I know that they were expecting some big things this year, and, you know, we don't really look at Mitch is that much of a quarterback? But, hey, he did what he had to do yesterday.
I was I was watching things today that said he never really got down on the sideline and things like that.
You always kept positive, and that's kind of what you want out of your quarterback, because if he doesn't have the skill level, at least you could be a leader.
And that's what he was yesterday came back from.
I believe it was what was it 21 in the fourth quarter with with three times through all three of his touchdown passes in the fourth quarter? So it was definitely 1/4 quarter for him to remember and something to put on his resume.
But that's a tough loss for the Lions.
Yeah, I think that fourth quarter is kind of what Bears fans really wanted all last year.
I mean, actually kind of this whole game getting David Montgomery the ball more is something I know.
A lot of Bears fans really wanted because, I mean, you're drafted running back.
You want to see him get the ball, But that four.
I mean, I just feel bad for for mass staff from the lines.
I think I saw us that about last year.
Like they were, like, nine different games that they wound up losing that they were leading in the fourth quarter.
So it just sucks that, like, because I mean, like you said, they had the lead.
They can't just be like a bad luck.
You gotta keep that lead you have Thio.
You can't let them come back 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Especially not when Travis Key is leading the charge.
But then that last play where DeAndre Swift had wide open touchdown and just dropped at me.
And that's just unfortunate.
Just classic lines misfortune right there.
But I thought both quarterbacks played solid.
I mean, it was nice to see Adrian Peterson out there getting the ball still, but I mean, surprising fourth quarter from the Bears could come back.
I mean, that passed.
He threw at the very end to Anthony Miller to take the lead.
That was that was a beautiful pass and That's what the bear is expected of him. That's what he should be now.
But I think I think this was a good game for the Bears to kind of see what they can do when they put it all together and they're actually working well together.
I just feel bad for the linesman.
You know, the longevity of a P is really getting up there, you know? I think that when he when he left the Vikings, a lot of people were probably expecting that to, you know, just his career to come crashing down.
He had a solid couple of years in Washington, and he didn't play bad yesterday, either.
So you know what? Good for AP.
He was always one of the one of the more fun backs toe watch, and, you know, he keeps just chugging along.
Maybe he's gonna have a Frank Gore longevity in him.
Man, I don't understand how they're still playing at such a high level to like they're producing like they're not just on the roster.
They're actually like That's the thing with Frank or he's He's old is dirt, but the man you give him the ball and it's like four yards.
Yeah, like and Agent E.
I hope I'm like that in my elder days.
Yeah, I mean being able to handle 14 carries like Adrian Peterson did against that tough Bears defense and still get 93 yards out of it.
Average six yard to carry.
I mean, that's just it's nice to watch and see how that's how athletes you take care of your body.
I mean, even after injuries, you can.
You can play as long as they dio for sure, and then a game that I think some people expected to be closer and it was for a little bit.
I didn't really.
I think it would be that close and ended up kind of being right.
But the Sea Hawks Falcons with the final 38 25 Seahawks obviously coming out on top and let me let me let me get on my soapbox here for a minute.
Can we please stop acting like Russell Wilson isn't amazing.
I mean, I know he gets his credit and things like that, but I feel like he's just I feel like everybody is always like, Oh, it's It's Patrick Mahomes.
It's not even close to the second.
And don't get me wrong.
Mahomes does his thing.
He's a He's a great.
He's a fantastic quarterback.
He's probably gonna go down in history as as a top two or three.
Because, you know, of course, ain't nobody passing.
They go with himself.
But, um, Russell Wilson is unbelievable.
He the things he does with, I think I don't think that we give him enough credit for doing things with wide receivers.
That I feel in other places wouldn't be as amazing.
I don't know if it's the system.
I don't know what it is.
But four touchdowns over What did he have like 300 parties? Yeah, 320 yards.
So he's, you know, he can obviously use his legs to hurt you as well.
Do you know the Falcons didn't look, look terribly, either.
Julio had over 100 yards.
Calvin really looked really good.
Todd Gurley didn't look bad, either.
I know he scored that touchdown, but the Seahawks are just fun to watch, man, and it's genuinely, in my opinion because of Russell Wilson.
I don't think I think you take Russell Wilson off that team and put somebody, if you want to swap quarterbacks just for this game, I think I think you'd be completely different story because you give Russell Wilson, Julio Jones and all of a sudden he becomes Jerry Rice, in my opinion.
But it was It was It was a nice game.
I don't even know how Maney rushing yards he had, but I know we had the two touchdowns because apparently he turned into receiving back yesterday.
But it was It was a nice thing to watch.
Yeah, I mean, it's hard to say Put more respect on Russell Wilson's name because like there should be no doubt that he's top two quarterback like it's him in my homes.
Lamar is great, but Russell wasn't just, I mean 31 of 35 he's been doing this for years.
I mean, this isn't the first time he's come out Week one and just been extremely dominant, and so I mean, he's got to get more respect.
I was impressed with the Falcons offense.
I really liked what I saw him, and I think they had three different receivers over 100 yards.
Yeah, three different receivers Matty Ice was out there doing his thing.
Like he said he looked.
He looked all right.
Obviously you want him to do more with 14 carries and what he did with it.
But, I mean, the Seahawks just they're gonna be a team to contend to go to the Super Bowl again just because of Russell Wilson.
And this year, he has a good receiving corps.
I mean, DK met Catholic really good yesterday.
Tyler Lockett still doing his thing.
And they got a veteran Greg Olsen in there, too.
So I think this is one of the better receiving course he's had in his career because they'll get Josh Gordon back eventually to So I think I think this offense is gonna be something a problem for all defense is all year.
Because you give Russell Wilson good weapons.
You know, he doesn't need time to throw.
He makes time to throw, so they're gonna be a problem all year.
Could you imagine the Seahawks with offensive line, though? Because you get if you get the Russell Wilson time to throw the ball.
I feel like you pick up our people even more and for the love of God.
I'm looking at every single NFL writer or person with a vote.
Can we please get him in M V P M V P vote this year? The fact that he didn't get one last year still makes me kind of sick.
But, you know, whatever.
I mean, I don't know, because everyone is just obsessed with who does good.
You're like that year like last year.
I mean, Lamar deserved M v p last year, but it should have been closer.
It shouldn't have been unanimous.
Russell wasn't definitely deserved votes.
Hopefully, hopefully, Russell Wilson is just obviously the best quarterback in the NFL, is here and finally gets his his well earned M v p because he he deserves it.
Now we'll go toe my game, the Patriots and the Dolphins, and I know that you'll have.
You'll have something to say about Cam here.
But, yeah, the Patriots didn't look bad.
And, of course, it was more of, uh, they didn't play the Dolphins, so I don't think anybody you know, really, I don't know how much you look into it, because even last year the Patriots destroyed the Dolphins, the first time they played then, Obviously, we don't know what happened. Week 17.
I still can't get over that one.
That's a different story for a different day.
Um, Mia Camden look bad? Hey, ran the ball I believe was 14 or 15 times.
Scored a couple touchdowns with his feet and things like that.
So as much as I don't believe in Cam the Passer, he's always been a great runner that you'll never be able to take that away from him.
And, of course, unless he gets injured or something like that.
But you know, 80 I saw at one point, I don't know what the final percentage waas, but 80% of their plays.
I believe going into like the fourth quarter were a run or play action, and I think that that's what they're going to be.
This year is gonna be a lot of Cam, you know, designed runs.
Sony Michelle will get involved.
James White will get involved with runs or dump off passes, things like that.
But there'll be a lot of it will be a lot of play action and and hoping that the defense plays like they did last year.
It's it's what have won the Patriots so many games before.
So what? What? It's what, Wednesday? I'm Super Bowls and it's everybody doing what they're supposed to dio.
Like I said, though it is, it is still the Dolphins.
So while I'm happy and and you know that they want to start off week one good, they got a whole different thing coming next week when they play that that bad man, that is Russell Wilson that we were just talking about.
So So tomorrow, not tomorrow.
Next week will be will definitely be a different type of show for them.
Uh, I want to see what Cam could do against that, and I want to see it because that was the thing.
The Patriot defense was great last year, but it was It was a lot against lower echelon teams that they really, really dominated because, you know, you look at when they played Houston, they kind of got sliced up.
They lost to the Chiefs, even though there was kind of that question will call on if McKeel Harry scored that touchdown or not, which I genuinely think he did.
Not even, you know, Patriots bias aside, there I think that that was just a terrible call.
Um, And then, you know, there was a big moments where they let up, like Week 17 against the Dolphins after my man went down and scored them a touchdown to take the lead.
But that's a different problem as well.
But, yeah, it's Cam did what he had to do to win the game yesterday, and he didn't look.
He didn't look too bad.
Stefan Gilmore is still doing his thing.
Gilly lock over there with another interception.
The Patriots defense is going is going to do what they're gonna do.
They probably have one of the better secondary, if not the best secondary in the league.
Jackson, Devin McCourty, Jason McCourty Gilmore.
I mean, I know they're linebacking corps is brand new.
The defensive line really hasn't hasn't been as strong as it always has been, especially since Chandler Jones and people like that have left.
You know, Dont'a Hightower, who's the quarterback of their defense, opted out of the season, so they had a lot of opt outs and things like that.
But hey, a win is a win.
No matter how you get, it doesn't matter.
It still goes into that W column.
So it was nice to see Yeah, I would love to stay here and say this game was was ran by Cam.
And then he was just him showing off his excellence.
But he did do good.
But I think this game was more about how smart Bill Belichick is and how he knows how to run an offense.
Because, I mean, the Dolphins went and spent money this year to get Byron Jones, and the Patriots were like, So you want to protect the past? We're just gonna run it down your throat, and that's what they did.
I mean, came at 75 yards on 15 rushing attempts and two touchdowns.
And that's what that's what him being a dual threat really brings to the Patriots is that when they're playing a team with a great secondary, they could just run the ball as much as they want.
They don't have to go out and throw 30 passes, so I really liked rest off from the offense.
Obviously, my God came, got it done.
Did what he does.
I mean, I've told you about it for a while now.
You just got to realize it.
But like you said, it's the Dolphins.
It's not nothing to be super hyped about, but the defense defense look nice out there is to find.
Gilmore still looks like he's a lock down corner, but I think this was just more about showing how Bill Belichick can form an offense around whatever he has.
And I think Cam Newton is gonna be great for them this year, probably gonna lead into the playoffs now.
It was a very heated debate in our group chat.
I don't know if you saw it, but do you have Gilmore Ramsey? Ah, I'll probably go Ramsey because I like the fact I like.
I like to get in your head factor the trash talk.
I'm gonna make you beat me while you're angry.
It's fine. Good more is amazing.
Very close call.
You deserve that Defensive player of the year last year.
I'm going Ramsey.
E think he's more talented, He's stronger, he gets him.
He's like I said, he gets in the receivers heads and he'll let you know that he's going to stop you and then he'll stop you.
I mean, it's a e think a J Green.
It's still on site for him.
Oh, no doubt, No doubt.
Let's move on to some of the four o'clock games.
Now this one ended up being a lot.
Well, it was a closer than I thought it would be, but I know some people actually had picked the upset in this game.
But Chargers Bangles that end up being 16.
13 Joe Burrows, Big debut.
I know he had that.
That nice running touchdown.
He didn't look too bad.
You know, I don't know how much you really expect from a rookie in his first start with no pre season.
You know, No o. T.
A s things like that, but it was It was closer than I thought it would be.
You know, Austin, Ecuador definitely kind of disappointed me in this game.
They got him involved in the running, like rushing the ball and things like that.
But he didn't do anything through the air, which is what I think, that he's probably best that he's best.
He's definitely one of the better receiving backs in the NFL.
He really didn't showcase that.
You know, this week I think obviously in the future, he will like.
Like we've said, It's week one.
So you can never really overreact toe anything because you don't know what's gonna happen.
But echo is definitely get more involved.
You know, Joe Mixon didn't look that amazing either.
But, you know, that's not a surprise to me, You know, to some other people, it might, but you know, whatever.
Now this by, um, this is what it was.
I was impressed.
Not by Joe Mixon.
I was disappointed in Joe Mixon, but I really like the rest off from Job Arrow and Tyrod Taylor.
I was skeptical of Tyrod Taylor and how he was gonna handle all those weapons out there, but I think he did really good.
And I picked up Josh Kelley off the waiver wire right after this game, too, because I really liked what I saw from him to a heckler.
Didn't perform well, and he came in and took advantage of his opportunities.
He had, uh, like I said, I think I think Joe Burrow played a really good that last drive that should have sent it to O.
Yeah, the Bangles definitely got charge erred in that game.
E just hate how he kicked, how he missed the kick and then act like he pulled a hammy or something.
That's literally my favorite thing in all sports.
That's my favorite thing.
It's like it's like the, you know, when when somebody goes for a dunk or something and they miss and they're like, Oh, ****, my hand is just killing May or stuff or something like that or or at the end of football games when when the team is doing the team is driving down the field and always done everybody and their mother has a has a cramping or cap or something like that.
But you know what great timing it was to pull his hand? Me And of course, you know, you know, maybe maybe it was Riel, but, you know, our sponsor over there at my book.
He had a great tweet today.
It was, uh, it was a GIF of of a wrestler with, like, a fake cast on, and then he just takes it often gets up all perfectly fine.
And it was like the Bengals kicker coming back to practice today s O.
That would entertain me a little bit, but the like I said before and it sounds sounds weird, but the Bangles got Chargers because the Chargers are usually the team that that happens. Thio.
You look at the past few years.
I don't think any team.
I mean, don't get me wrong.
The Browns lose a lot.
The Giants and teams like that.
Bad teams lose a lot, but there is no team, and I don't know what it is that loses harsher than the Chargers.
The charges will be winning a game, and then the team will will come down and score touchdown with with five seconds left.
And somehow the Chargers will be on the go on with one second left at Whole headed off and don't get stopped at the goal line.
And the next week somebody will miss a kick, and that's how they lose the game.
I mean, the Chargers just found ways to lose games all the time, and then maybe, maybe that was the turning point.
Maybe the bad demons are are gonna be on the bangle side this year, and, uh, they're gonna they're gonna lose games like the charges did.
But man that that sucks for Borough.
He led them down the field and handed it over to his kicker on his poor hamstring.
Apparently and, uh, he missed.
I could not stop laughing.
Like when I first missed the kick.
I was like, No, he didn't.
And then they put the camera right.
Although, but he's just like I was like, No s so funny.
All right, let's see what's next here.
This was a great, great game.
Toe watch the 40 Niners and the Cardinals.
And, man, let me tell you something.
I don't know how much I believed in Kyler Murray coming out of college because, like I said, I'm not much of a college football or sports person in general.
But, you know, there was always a thing about him being sure and and this that or whatever.
But I'm gonna tell you right now, if you don't watch the Cardinals games, you probably should, because Cardinals games are a lot more entertaining than a lot of people are going to give them credit for Kyler.
Murray is really fun to watch.
He had 95 rushing yards yesterday, so he could definitely you know, you look at Lamar and everybody talks about his legs.
But Kyler could absolutely do the same thing that he that he does and DeAndre people were, you know, were kind of scared that DeAndre Hopkins was was gonna fall off a little bit.
While Kyler Murray said, Don't you worry, folks, because, you know, 14 catches yesterday he almost scored that touchdown.
He got tackled down at the one.
He looked absolutely unbelievable yesterday, and it was just It was just a crazy to watch.
But what you gotta look at for the 40 Niners to is, you know, and I and I've said it plenty of time to think.
A lot of people know the 40 Niners defensive line is outstanding.
They're fantastic and things like that.
But if you look at it, they struggle against teams with A with a running quarterback and don't get me wrong.
Obviously, a lot of teams are because that's not something you see every day.
But, you know, Kyler gives them struggles.
Russell's They struggled with Russell Wilson.
They struggled against Lamar last year.
So if they're you know, if you're the 40 Niners, you're definitely hoping that you don't have to play the see the Seahawks or or a team like that in the playoffs.
ER because they they definitely struggle against them.
And then Jimmy Garoppolo in the second half of that game just just didn't show up.
He was just not.
He was just not good.
I don't know what they end up doing with him.
If he's gonna play like that, always because, like, you know, he played fine in the first half.
You know, Moster looked good, man, he's definitely got some burners on him.
He ran like a little angle route against the rookie on the Cardinals, Isaiah Simmons and just absolutely broke him, you know, when those little ankle routes and took that for a long touchdown.
Kid looked pretty good in the first half before he went to the locker room a little bit earlier with an injury, but he came back and he played.
But you know, I don't know what the 40 Niners end up doing with Jimmy in the long run, but even yesterday they were.
I believe they were like two of 10 or something like that on third down, so it was definitely that's definitely just not what you want to see if your, uh if your 49 or 53rd down is a very important thing for any NFL team in general and then playing so poorly on that is definitely not a good look for them.
But, yeah, it was a very, very fun and entertaining game. Toe watch for sure.
What do you What do you think about it? Yeah, when we did our players of the week in the last episode, I picked Colin Murray to be my NFC player of the week.
I don't know if his numbers really show that, but the eye test shows that he was.
He was amazing that entire game.
I mean, 90 yards rushing in 230 in the air.
He just showed that he's a really, like one of the best dual threat quarterbacks in the league because dual threat quarterbacks are taking over the league right now.
I mean, they're they're in the top tier, so he's he's going to take over for a long time, and you give him a receiver like the answer Hopkins.
I don't understand why people even questioned whether he would have a fall off I mean, calamari is as good of a throw, whereas to Shawn Watson, So why would DeAndre Hopkins fall off? All they're going to do is use him or and they showed that yesterday.
I mean, little screens, just little coral routes, just getting him the ball a lot.
And then at the end of the game, when they were in the clocking situation there for Gerald came up big and got the bottle line of scrimmage and I was going viral on everything.
But that's that's what the Cardinals need is a veteran like that to help out the young guys, show them the way on.
I just really liked what I saw overall from the Cardinals offense and Jimmy Garoppolo.
I've never, never thought he was going to be really amazing.
I don't want to call him a system quarterback because I don't think there's such thing as really a system quarterback.
You gotta be good to be productive in the NFL like you have to have talent somewhere.
But in the second half he just There was one play where he spun like five times in the pocket and there was nobody around him and then just got sacked because he spun five times.
He just happened.
That's the thing with that's the thing with Jimmy.
He just looked so skittish all the time because before we came on, I was what I watched highlights of the game because I, you know, was flipping back and forth between that and, of course, the Bucks.
And of course, like that.
But E was watching the highlights.
And I'm like, Jimmy, what are you doing? There's nobody next to you Why you look like a deer in headlights like I don't know what he's doing some of the times, And it's just the complete opposite of Murray.
You know, Jimmy can run a little bit.
It's not like he's the fastest guy, the fastest guy on the field or anything close to that.
But he can take off when he has to.
It's just the opposite of Kyler, and, you know, you see people around him, and maybe it's because Skylar doesn't have a choice, because that offensive line is is just not the best for sure.
But you see, when people get around him, he's like, Look, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna run for 15 years, I mean, there was a 3rd and 15 or 30 and 17 yesterday where Kyler just took off and ran for the first down and and got almost like 25 yards on it.
So, you know, it's literally like the complete opposite.
DeAndre Hopkins, for everybody who talked about him having like the best hands in the league.
And I think he does, for sure.
I think the most underrated aspect of his game is he's so good in the open field like that is such a very like, underrated part of DeAndre Hopkins, like he could make people miss.
He could do a whole lot of things, but he managed.
He's really impressive in the open field.
Honestly, yeah, I mean, it's just, I think, the reason that gets overlooked because of how good of a route runner and how great his hands Army and all the highlights are him going up, catching jump balls, air burning defensive backs because he's not the fastest guy out there.
But he'll make you miss on.
Like you said, nobody really talks about his ability to move in the open field.
But that's a big part of his game, that that's where He gets a lot of his yards from his run after the catch, and I mean, with the 40 Niners offense, I know Raheem Mostert.
He wanted more money this offseason.
He thought he was worth a lot more, but he didn't show that at all yesterday with any of his carries.
He had a lot of really bad decisions trying to do too much out there on.
I think they just need more out of him because you can't have.
You can't rely on the passing game too much.
I know you got George kill, but you got established the run game toe open, things up for George Kittel and they just weren't able to do that.
I was happy to see Jerick McKinnon play again.
I've always liked him.
He's always been a really good out of the backfield, pass catcher and stuff, so it's nice to see him get the ball a little bit and get a touchdown.
But you got to get more out of Mostert.
You can't You can't rely on Jimmy to win you every game.
Yeah for sure and then we'll move on to probably the most anticipated game off the schedule yesterday or for week one.
You know, obviously there's a lot of story lines going into it with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints.
Obviously, the Saints came out on top.
Um, it was kind of what I expected.
Honestly, I mean, obviously, everybody knows by now my love for Tom Brady and everything that he's done being a Patriots fan.
So obviously I'm still gonna support him.
I don't really blame him for leaving and things like that, but it was kind of what I expected.
I thought that states would win this game, and early on, it was a lot closer than I thought it would be.
I thought, probably from the jump.
At the same, we're gonna come out and score.
But the Bucks defense didn't look too bad.
You know, Scott, uh, Scott.
Todd Bowles brings a lot of pressure, you know, they blitz on Ah, whole lot of plays.
So they didn't look too bad.
They kind of did what I expected them to do.
And then, you know, the bucks offense struggled a little bit because it's a lot of new pieces.
You got grand coming in. You got for that.
Who didn't really We're not.
Didn't really do much yesterday at all.
You know, I didn't really see him on the field too much.
Yeah, so he didn't really do too much yesterday.
And then, obviously it's a whole new offense that Brady is learning coming over from New England.
They had the he had.
He had the two interceptions, one of them being a pick six, which, you know, I'll defend him all I can, but that the pick six was just a late throw.
You know, it's a it's out route to the sideline.
You gotta get the ball out quicker than that, you know, put it more towards the sideline.
So that was just a bad throw in general.
And but the first interception of Mike Evans kind of looked like a miscommunication.
I don't know if Brady thought it was gonna be a post route, or but Mike Evans, you know, kind of stopped running.
And Troy, Troy Aikman, you know, pointed that out yesterday on the broadcast that it was kind of just a miscommunication.
You know, Drew Brees that we did like what we kind of expected him to do.
Alvin Kamara looked great yesterday for everybody.
That was scared.
He wasn't gonna play too much, because will not play too much.
But he wasn't gonna play this year because of the contract.
He definitely He definitely earned that contract yesterday because he played like an animal yesterday.
What do you have? Three touchdowns.
You know, a lot of, ah lot of it through.
He did a lot through the air and things like that.
They got tasting, how involved And, you know, the same one.
That game without Michael, Tom is doing much.
I think he only had, like, three catches and 17 yard or something like that towards the end of the game.
I know that he messed up his ankle a little bit, so that might be something to watch for the future, but yeah, it was kind of what I expected.
It's a It's a new system for the bucks, and the States have been together for a long time.
It was anticipated, and it lived up to it for a little bit of it.
But, you know, towards the end of the game, you kind of saw what was gonna happen.
Yeah, I'm I've been done.
I'm not too high on the Bucks this year.
It's just it's a lot to get done in one year, a lot to put together in one season, trying to win a championship.
And Gronk was a non factor yesterday.
Mike Evans was a non factor yesterday, and I think they went over the top too much.
That's not I don't think that's what Brady's.
Brady's not supposed to do that, and that's why I know everyone is really high on Scotty Miller and everybody's raving about him in practice and everything.
But I did not expect him to be as involved as he was yesterday, but he produced a little bit.
But I think this is just more about how dominant the Saints could be and how hungry they are toe toe, have all these weapons and actually make it work to get to a Super Bowl.
I mean, like you said album Camaro, very active yesterday, showed he was worth the money.
Michael Thomas wasn't even a big part of the offense, but they were still throwing the ball really well.
I mean, putting up 34 points and Drew Brees only through for 160 yards.
You'll take that any day, being able to score that much.
I mean, the only way I can say this, he's gotta do better.
I think they were both on him.
I know you could say my Kevin's got Lazier miscommunications, but he's dealt with new weapons, new players his whole entire career.
I don't think it's really an excuse to say miscommunication, being lazy on her out.
He's just he's gotta be better out there and make sure his guys already because he's the leader of the team.
That's that's his team, even though this is his first year there.
But I think they need toe.
Get Leonard Fournette the ball more.
He's a workhorse using like a workhorse.
Don't depend on Brady to throw the ball a lot early in the year.
Let him get used to the offense, and I just need to see more from his weapons and him.
Then Bruce Arians, and definitely, uh, might land on your side on that, because after the game he kind of went up and in on braiding.
Not that I don't think Brady's uh to Thio easy probably used to that dealing with Bill in in the private meetings and things like that.
But Arian said that he had to play better for sure, And, uh, we'll see how we'll see how it goes throughout the year and then the final game off the sleet yesterday was the Cowboys and the Rams.
I I'm kind of surprised at the outcome of the game.
I thought that the Cowboys would win just because I don't I didn't know what to really expect from the Rams this year, but they look pretty good, you know.
They got back to what really what they were really meant to do.
They a lot of runs.
Ah, lot of play action, you know, they got Robert Woods was involved a lot more than I thought he was gonna be.
You know, you look at that team.
You usually think of Cooper Cup being like the big receiving receiving guy.
But Robert was got involved early and often, and Jared Goff looked pretty good.
He did what he had to do and the defense showed up a lot more than than I thought they would.
I don't I don't really know what to expect with at this point anymore.
You know, they had more injuries.
Looks like he's gonna be out for the year.
Uh, he tours a CEO, so, you know, obviously prayers up for him and everything like that Hope he recovers.
But way in, Vander s went out as well, who seems like to be their new Oh, gosh, his name.
Just He's just blanked on me.
Who's there? Who's the other linebacker? Yes, he's their new Sean way.
When he's on the field, he's great, but it's a hard for him to get on the field. I'll tell you that.
Eso you know, they dealt with more injuries there, and then the thing that still makes me scratch my head from that game is I don't know what Mike McCarthy did at the end of that game because it's you.
Nobody had really moved the ball too much like that.
The scoring was was pretty much even.
If it's a 22 17 game, you're in field goal range and they go for it.
Why wouldn't you just take the points and you look at it? And that kind of ended up being in the game? Um, you know you look towards the end of and you look even past that, though I know that a lot of people are screaming about the pass interference.
I honestly I don't I don't know how that's not or how that it was.
It was offensive pass interference, right? Mhm.
Yeah, I didn't I didn't really see it.
I didn't really see it, but, you know, so you could look at that, too.
Of course, that's what the Cowboy fans air hanging onto off why they lost.
But I don't know what Mike McCarthy was doing with not taking that, not taking the points.
Yeah, this this game was just very confusing for me, like I didn't I didn't really understand.
I really liked what I saw from the Rams Early on.
I didn't like you said.
I didn't see Robert Woods becoming that big of a factor, but they were getting him the ball and he was.
He was making moves in space and getting open consistently, and they had obviously Malcolm, Brown and Cam makers.
Just going back and forth a little bit but can makers was disappointing.
But that's another story.
Less appointment is not even the work I like.
Listen, I had my over under on him 39 yards, 39 a half.
And what does he dio 39 yards? Mhm, Yeah.
I mean, I really liked what Mike McCarthy did was sick, though.
I mean, you gotta You gotta get him involved a lot.
And it's not like they really played that bad.
It was just more or less the play calling.
It's like they were running just short route to the whole time.
Just quick slants after quick slants.
And when you have players like Amari Cooper and CD Lamb and Michael Gallup, you've got to send them deep. That's what they do.
They have the burners and they beat people deep.
And that pass interference in late game was, I don't know how you could argue it was not offensive pass interference.
There was a clear extension of the arm and push off.
Of course, they d be sold it, which is what they got to do.
I mean, that's that's how you get the rest toe.
Notice it, but I think it was clearly offensive pass interference.
You can't You can't extend the arm.
That's the big part he can push off, but don't show the extension.
That's how the refs sees it.
And that's when Michael Gallup did.
But that four down call.
I mean, that's just trusting your offense a little bit. Too much offense.
Probably liked it there like we could get this touchdown or score here.
Get we already here in field goal range.
Let's get the win.
But you got to take the field goal there, Play for the wind.
But I I liked what I saw from both offenses.
I just don't know. It was confusing.
Just just some of the play calling just didn't make a lot of sense on.
Uh, do you pay, Dak? Do I pay back? Yeah.
Do I pay him? Why? What do you mean? Why are you giving him the contract that that ah, lot of people were talking about giving him, I think I mean, I got to see all 16 games, and if it's only 16 I probably wouldn't because they got to make the playoffs.
If I'm gonna pay deck that kind of money that that he is eligible four and is going to ask for it, he's gonna ask for a lot.
But I mean, what do you do without him? You know, like like you don't have a quarterback anymore.
If you let him go.
You're not a believer in the Red Rifle? No e The reason Joe Burrows in Cincinnati now, so I mean, e don't know.
I don't think I pay him, but it's a tough call.
He's I feel like you just know what he is.
Already, he's not.
He's not the person that I'm trying to think of, like the proper way to put it.
He doesn't uplift.
He doesn't make.
I feel he doesn't make people that much better.
Not even in the same like in the sense that he he when he's on the field, all of his teammates, he just doesn't make people better.
You know, you look at his record, he's not.
He's not good against teams that are above average.
You know, everybody had him in the N V P race last year because the first six weeks he was playing teams like the Miami Dolphins, like what did you expect toe happen? But you know, then, later on in the year he played actual teams with better competition, and he's just not.
He's just not that good, you know, He was like, I believe in the second half he was like 10 for 21 had, like, a 47 passer rating or something like that.
It's just he's not, I don't know.
I don't think I'd pay him, especially the money that he wants.
I don't know what they because I mean, they're kind of built around Zika anyway, where? I mean, with all these offensive weapons in your first game, you put up 17 points.
That's why I come on.
But I think that's kind of why you got to keep that.
You've got these weapons for Deck that has that has done good.
It's not like he's been awful throughout his career.
He came out firing has e.
I mean, he's done better than a lot of people thought he would in the NFL.
Now the expectations of him toe lead a team like the Cowboys, they make you.
They want him to be Patrick Mahomes and there's it is not gonna be multiple of those in the league.
It's I think they kind of I mean, what do they do if they don't pay him.
Do they resign Andy Dalton and let him get a run out of for a year? Do they go draft somebody That is good and I think they're going to stick with them just for the fact that that I mean, he knows the offense.
He's shown that he can get it done.
He's just, I don't know.
It's a It's a very tough call.
Like Either way, both ways have positives and negatives to it.
And before we wrap up NFL Week one, we got a couple of games tonight with the Steelers and the Giants coming up pretty soon in about an hour Eastern time.
Uh, and then, of course, the nightcap is the Titan and the Broncos.
I know we've excuse me, kind of gone over this before, so we'll just give our quick, little thoughts.
What are your thoughts? Steelers, Giants and then Titans Broncos? You know.
What do you What do you really expecting from the Giants Steelers? Who do you think's gonna win? And then Probably the same thing for the Titans.
I mean, for the Steelers Giants game.
I'm really just looking at the quarterbacks.
I really want to see how big Ben's going to come back.
I want to see how Daniel Jones takes a step this year.
Like, I think he will obviously say Kwan, Barkley is going to be a factor and so well, James Connor.
But I think the Steelers air gonna gonna run away with this one.
I think they got a lot of weapons this year on.
I think big Big Ben's focused on the team.
So I got the Steelers winning that and then the Titans and Broncos.
I'm going with the Broncos.
I really I really like Drew luck.
I really like their offense.
Obviously, losing von Miller is really gonna suck.
But all they gotta do is it sounds like all they gotta do is contain Derrick Henry.
But that's a very tough task to Dio.
You don't got to really worry about Ryan Tannehill beating you up too much, but I like the Broncos.
I think their defense will hold tonight, so I'll pick them to win it, because I really think Drew locks gonna be good and having Phillip Lindsay and Melvin Gordon in the backfield, that's that's a pretty big thing.
Yeah, for the for this Steelers and Giants.
I'm like you said.
It's a lot of looking at the quarterback.
I want to see what bank do coming back from Tommy John surgery, which you don't really see in the NFL too much.
Obviously, it's a big baseball thing.
Everybody gets Tommy John usually, uh, I want to see what he can do.
Dana Jones has to take that next step forward.
You know, probably have some better ball security, things like that.
And then, obviously the big name toe watch there is, say, Kwan.
Everybody's really high on him.
So I want to see what what say Kwan can do as well.
And then I probably I probably got that.
I probably got the Steelers winning that game, though I think there's just the better team.
Their defense is better.
I don't really know what to expect from the Giants defense this year, but I'm not expecting too much.
I want to see what I have in England could do as well.
He's probably I think it would be one of Daniel Jones, big targets and a lot of people especially I know pairing and other people like that are thinking Darius Leighton is gonna be a big factor this year.
So I want to see what's up with him and I'm gonna go against you.
When the Italians Broncos game I got the Titans in this one.
I don't like the fact that the Broncos lost so many people on defense.
Bradley Chop is obviously still recovering from his surgery.
They lost Von Miller.
Chris Harris Jr is gone.
But, you know, I dio I actually do kind of believing in Drew lock.
I'm not like some other people who don't really are in a fan of him, so I think he'll be.
I want to see what he can dio uh, they have a good amount of offensive talent.
Like you said Phillip, Lindsay, Melvin Gordon Uh, Jerry Judy.
They drafted Courtland sons there, so it's gonna there'll be there'll be a fun offense, toe watch for sure.
But I think the Titans, we're gonna end up squeaking that one out, it's gonna be gonna be too good game.
So I think they're gonna think the Steelers, if they don't run away with they could wind up being close.
But titans and Broncos is definitely gonna be an entertaining match up.
And then just a quick little thoughts because I think it's too big to not mention, you know, it happened yesterday, so I don't know how much you watched it, but I'm not gonna lie.
I didn't watch any of it.
In fact, I honestly did not even know that they played.
But the Clippers and the Nuggets were going to a Game seven.
Little thoughts on that.
And then also some thoughts on what seems to be a probably a fun matchup with the Celtics and the Heat.
Yeah, I was able to watch after I saw that.
Then I get started coming back a little bit.
Every time that happens, I wind up winning.
So I was really excited to see that watch the fourth quarter of that and the Nuggets yoke.
It's just dominated that game.
I'm taking the Nuggets in Game seven, Clippers air done for.
I don't think I don't think they don't think they took this season as I thought.
They they think they were going to coast through it.
They thought it would be really easy to get to the Lakers in the conference finals.
That's all they thought about but the Nuggets Nuggets have shown a lot of heart.
I mean, coming back 31 last Siri's to face this top defense in the league Clippers team and pushing them to seven games after being down, 71 I'm taking the Nuggets.
I mean, really like Jamal Murray.
Gary Harris is getting his groove back after coming back from the injury.
Yeah, I'm taking the Nuggets in that And then heat verse.
Celtics, I think, is going to be a battle, but I'll take the Heat in five.
I think the Heat are just too dominant on.
The Celtics just came through a very, very tough seven game.
Siri's the Heat are well rested.
Celtics have been having players go off one night and not not going off the next couple games.
So I'm gonna take the Heat in five games in that conference. Siri's.
And then if the Nuggets do win and it's Nuggets Lakers, I have the Lakers and five.
So I have Lakers Heat final.
Well, im going against you on both because I'm just I'm just smarter Clearly.
No, but you gotta You got Perry over here in the comments, agreeing with you what they go nuggets.
And then, you know, the Mavs didn't questions.
They washed e don't know. I don't know.
Peri Peri is a cowboy fan, so I don't know how much he truly knows.
You know what I mean? But now I think I think the Clippers are gonna end up winning this game.
I don't know, You know, it's ah, it is.
I'll admit it is kind of concerning that They've lost, you know, as many games as they have in the playoffs this year.
Especially because I kind of thought that they were just run through everything until they got to the to the Lakers.
But I got the I got the Clippers winning this.
I'll give it to the Nuggets, though.
Coming down 31 in the last Siri's and then 31 to make it a game seven again is just is unbelievable.
If they could do it twice, hats off to them.
But I don't really think that they will.
I think Kawai is gonna is gonna go off like he did in that game last year against the 70 Sixers and hopefully Pandemic P doesn't show up.
Like I said, I didn't watch.
E didn't watch any of the game.
I totally forgot that they were even playing.
But yoga should go off.
So, you know, they gotta obviously contain him.
And then I'm going against you because I think that the Celtics are actually gonna knock off the heat.
I just like I like Tatum.
I like Jalen Brown.
I think Gordon Hayward might have a chance of coming back this Siri's.
So if he does, that will be big for them.
But I got the Celtics in a six or seven games. Siri's.
It would be nice to see this series go seven, but I think that he are just.
And then, of course, when the Clippers beat the Nuggets in Game seven, they're beating the Lakers.
I mean, even if they win this Game seven, there is no way they're beating the *****, brother.
Just they're just not on.
Then, of course, our final segment we'll go to the challenge flags, you know, I'll let you go first.
I mean, did I l a vs l.
A You're gonna take the so like they don't even belong in l a, bro.
They should be like I don't even know where they should be playing. Just not there.
How can you think after they let a team without their second best player in the Mavericks, they didn't have Chris stops and Luca was playing on one ankle, pushed it six games.
And then they let the Nuggets, who just came back from 31 They put them down 31 and let them call back.
No, dude, I mean, they just haven't shown enough.
So I'm challenge flag in your thoughts that the Nuggets are gonna lose tonight or tomorrow night.
I just How can you still believe in the Clippers? After all they've shown you? I think it's my overwhelming dislike for the Lakers and LeBron you got against LeBron.
He annoys me a little bit.
He's a great listen what he's He's bro.
You're gonna tell me you don't sit there and cry about everything? That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life.
You know? What is going to do is watch a 32nd clip of him. Wow.
Well, like 10 years ago What? 10 seconds ago? He probably just probably just Well, he probably just called up.
Listen, he's probably in his hotel room at Disney right now, calling the maid service because his pillow wasn't fluffed properly.
Listen, bro, every player cries about foul calls.
LeBron is just so much better than everyone else that he's the only one that people get mad about.
Hey is so much better than everybody else.
Why, that is, you know, what s K King Wang? You're not the first one to doubt the king Pro.
Listen, he's so much better than everybody because Katie is not playing and that you were supposed to fault LeBron because Katie Tourism.
I'm just saying that Zoe so much better because you, Katie could about 30 this year, and I would still be like, No, LeBron, you tell me.
A point guard, LeBron.
That's passed first average and 10 assists and still getting 26 a game.
He's shooting 60% from the field in these playoffs because I'll take my 6 11 point guard who could get a shot from anywhere on the court.
And Perry, the only greatness I'm bowing down to is myself.
Listen, if K G could go and get a ring with Kyrie like LeBron did, then I'll say it's close but LeBron you got it done, LeBron.
Now you gotta prove nothing to nobody is.
It's shown it all.
You know what? I'll challenge you.
I could have I could have gone to ways with this, But I think I'm going to challenge you.
And not that it's too serious on giving Philip Rivers and Brady a pass because you don't think you don't think that they deserve a little bit of a past.
But let me tell you something.
Quarterback, first of all, is the most important position and probably all of sorts in general.
And it's probably also the hardest.
So you're going into a system, a brand new system for both of them after however many years Brady 20.
I don't know how long Rivers was in was in, you know, l a slash San Diego, but they're both going in into new system, so I think it's really gonna it's really going thio be a lot harder for them than it should be.
But I think that you're gonna be better.
I think I think Brady's gonna be Brady's gonna be go to like he normally is, and I don't know about Philip I'm kind of sold.
I'm kind of done with Philip anyway.
But, you know, here's why you don't give them a pass.
It's not like either of them got blown out.
They were in the game.
They were scoring points.
The offense was moving the ball.
If they got blown out and the offense just look awful, I'd be like, OK, there's they're obviously not on the same page.
They obviously need a lot more work together.
But when you're in the game, when you're scoring over 20 points and it's you still have a chance to win at some point, like you can't you can't give them a past, then then when they disappoint at the end of the game, when you were probably going crazy early on Brady, you scored that rushing touchdown.
You're like, Oh, man, the ghost still here? No, dude, he's got to get it done.
They don't get a pass for nothing.
They're they're veterans.
They're supposed to be the leaders of these teams.
We got We got Mr Hard Ass over here.
I respect that I respect.
Like I said, Like I said, if they were if they were getting blown out, I'd be like, All right, give him a pass.
But very winnable games for both teams.
I mean, the Jags, bro.
You wanna give Philip Rivers past for losing them? That's what I said, too, though you did.
And you just created it.
I give more off a pass to Brady Pats fan, um, aside and I due to rivers, because for Brady, you're playing the Saints who we thought was gonna win anyway because they're just a better team.
But I mean, the jags, you're you're really losing me on that one, Philip.
That's why I'm not.
That's why I wasn't really ever sold on Rivers.
I think that he's kind of done, but I give him or like I said, I give more of a Pastor Brady because you're playing so much of a better team.
But the team that people are probably gonna think they're with their division anyway and the Jags are probably gonna win the first round the first pick of the draft.
So But that aside, that is probably that is going to wrap up Episode three of What's Boys.
It was a it was a fun one is always with you.
And, uh, before we go, we gotta thank the sponsors once again.

Of course, you can see what you like in the, uh, in the Steelers game today.
I actually I actually love the Steelers minus 5.
5 and the over in this game, I think it's about 45.
I like the over on that.
I don't think the Giants defense will do much and then the Titans game tonight.
I also like the over and that That's 41.
I think that with both teams, that's what that's That's only a za 21 20 score.
So I think that will be It will be more than that.
And then, of course, also Rx m dot com premium CBD creams, code Rx M dash us and for 10% off your entire purchase.
