ladies and gentlemen, What's going on? Welcome back to the coach's office.
Uh, I'm a coach, Brad, along with my coach Nathan.
Today we will be talking about a quick recap of the Week one of the NFL season, and we will also be giving you guys a preview of our Monday night doubleheader between the Tennessee Titans and the Denver Broncos as our nightcap and the Pittsburgh Steelers versus the New York Giants as our earlier game.
Nathan, how are you today? Pretty good.
I'm excited for those Monday night games tonight, and I'm glad that we have football back because it's been a very, very long time.
It feels like a very, very long time.
It was February, no pre season.
We didn't really get much until on training camp because of Cove it.
But I'm very excited that we're back, and I cannot wait to see how the season pans out as we head into Week two.
This the this upcoming Thursday.
So I'm very excited.
How are you? I'm doing great.
Um, had a great weekend as well.
Obviously, the Cowboys lost on Sunday Night Football, but not only that, the Washington football team is the Onley undefeated team in the NFC East right now, and that has been the best part of my year, basically so far.
First time that's happened in maybe five years or so.
I don't remember the last time we were ever undefeated, Um, but with that being said, what's going to start with that? So what was the bigger upset on Sunday? Was it the football team's 10 point victory over the Eagles? Or was it the JAG seven point victory over the Indianapolis Colts? So E don't know the Washington football team I was checking out. That came.
Eagles were up 17 to nothing, and then they came back and won.
But jaguars over culture was biggest.
Well, I think I have to go with the football team.
Won as much as the Jaguars speeding The culture was big.
It was a little bit expected in the way more than the football team over the Eagles, because I feel like the Colts are a good team, but they just have to figure things out.
I'm I've been really excited for Philip Rivers going into since going into Indiana this year playing for the Colts.
Indianapolis eso I'm excited about that.
But I'm also a little doubtful about how things were gonna work out there.
So the Jaguars were able to beat them.
Okay, But for the Washington football team, obviously Dwayne Haskins getting the starting job, they're trying to prove something this year.
I mean, they're trying to prove that they're gonna be ableto win with Dwayne Haskins.
I mean, this is a guy that hasn't start that didn't really get a lot of chances to prove himself last year.
And now he used the chance to start off Opening Day quote unquote opening kickoff week.
And he does his job and they go out there and they beat the Eagles.
So I feel like that was big.
The Eagles. I feel like it's been the same stats.
And everybody keeps saying, Oh, yeah, the Eagles were gonna win their division this year.
As much as the Cowboys struggled in Week one, I would put the Eagles at third in that division.
I really feel that the Giants and even the Washington football team could be better than the Eagles at this point. The Eagles.
I feel like Carson Wentz.
His reliability issues have been a problem in the past past two seasons, be knocked out by the Seahawks in that game and then back when they face believe it was the saint or the Rams.
Actually, it was the Rams when he got knocked out.
So, uh or ST it was saint.
Excuse me not It was Rams when he got his a c l could've sworn in was Rams, um, Rameses in the regular season.
And then that was when they won the Super Bowl.
Yeah, so the reliability issues have been a problem.
There's no denying that once is a good to be, but his reliability issues are what holds him back.
And then there's also so many problems around the offense and the defense.
So I feel like it was just coming.
But at the same time, the Eagles were up 17 to nothing.
So the Washington football team was definitely the bigger upset, in my opinion here.
Yeah, there was no use, no matter who you are, blow 17.
Nothing lead on just looking at some of the stats.
I mean, Dwayne Haskins.
This is one of his best games of his entire career, which that's kind of hurt to say when you hear the stat line, I mean 17 or 31 for 178 yards and a touchdown.
But compared that how mightily he struggled black gear in his rookie season.
This was a great game for him.
I mean, Carson Wentz, two interceptions.
That's not gonna get the job done.
Uh, so I think that's a pretty big upset as well.
But just with the Colton Jaguars really quickly, Um, Gardner meant you.
And a season where the Jaguars are expected.
The tank for Trevor Lawrence.
Nine shoe throws, one incompletion, one incompletion that is incredible.
19 of 20 for 173 yards and three touchdowns.
Thio Move the Jags toe.
Wanna know and beat the Colts? Who? Everybody thought it was going to be amazing this year and this still might be.
But, you know, it was really surprising Marlon Mack.
They fear that he tours Achilles in that game, so that could really hurt them down the line.
But both of these games were pretty big upsets.
We might see some or later tonight as well.
We'll have to see.
We'll get to that later, though.
Yeah, I was just looking at this time right now.
Philip Rivers played well.
He was 36 or 46 had 363 passing yards.
So it a pretty good game.
And the Colts offense did pretty good.
Hilton and 53 yards Campbell with 71 Taylor with 67.
So the offense did pretty good.
It was the defense, that struggle, I'm guessing here.
I didn't watch the O.
Henderson, the rookie cornerback out of Florida, locked down to you by Hilton because we all know, um, some of us might not.
Y Hilton was young and early in his career and he was not hurt over and over again, T y was a grown man.
He was a player in the separation, right? A.
I'm not saying he's gonna be as good as he was. Now.
The T y should some huge flashes, and C J.
Henderson is able to shut him down for the most part, which is really impressive of a rookie cornerback to Dio.
Yeah, I think it was just the Jaguars just played a really I don't even know to say they played a really good game when it came down to it later on, like they just played well.
So and Minshew? I mean, we're all talking on all high on my horse over here.
Like Menchu's bottom five in the league.
He played like top five yesterday.
E He's not going to be like this the whole season.
Hopefully not well, actually, I don't care. Jaguars.
You going win the Super Bowl this year, but I don't think he's gonna be like this the whole year.
But this was also a really good game.
So this is probably like you said, Good, good comparison here.
This is probably the second best upset off the week.
I would say so far, we never know.
It's Monday Night Football.
Maybe the Giants will score 70 points and beat the Steelers.
We don't know, but E don't even think they scored 70 points.
They still be good enough to beat your killer anyway.
Give up like 71 or something, regardless of that before we move on.
I was just looking at Saks from the Jags Colts game and obviously we could look at the football team against the Eagles.
The reason why the Eagles losses because of turnovers and sacks Football team at eight sacks on them, which is an absurd amount.
I'm looking at the sacks in these games, and the Jaguars only get one sack on the Colts and the constantly get free sacks on the Jags.
And I'm trying to figure out where the two interceptions from Philip Rivers came in the play and where the three touchdown passes came from.
Because more often than not, when you're pressure, you're not going to be good under pressure and mince you was the total opposite of that in this game.
Which is crazy to May, uh, but with that being said, we'll move onto one of the bigger games of the afternoon, and that was in Foxboro between the Patriots and the Dolphins.
The Patriots get it done in the A F C East.
They were able to beat the Dolphins pretty good.
Margin, 21 to 11.
Cam Newton to rush to rushing touchdowns played. Amazing.
Can they get it done in the NFC East? Yes, they can.
I've said this before. I said this before.
Cam didn't even got here.
I said Jared Stidham.
They'd still probably win the division over the Bills.
Now, that's probably crazy to think about, but, um, you know, it wasn't just the offense the defense picked up right where they left off.
T s on Ryan Fitzpatrick who, by the way, didn't have a bad game early on, but it came down, um, later in the game, like one of the last place I remember.
Um, it was probably the last.
I believe it was the last.
Well, there last drive that that that that happened where they were struggling and they were unable Thio convert because it was really a close game.
I don't know where Brad just went here, but I'm gonna continue.
Yeah, Yeah, go ahead, man.
I was I was just giving it in.
I was like, I was like, where did? But I didn't know if that was planned or not, but yeah, really.
I mean, the patriots, they played a good game.
The defense, they did their job.
But I think it was more about being able to see what Cam Newton could do because we're used to not having a mobile quarterback.
And when you have Cam Newton who ran for 75 yards.
He threw 15 of 19.
He was looking good out there.
I think that they were he was talking about.
There's no injury concern if they're heavy running like that.
And that's what New England needs to dio.
We're looking towards a new phase of football and a running phase.
And if you have Cam Newton, Sony, Michelle, Rex Burkhead, Damon Harris and what was the other guy? Um, J.
Taylor, who is J.
Taylor to give you a comparison is 56 J.
Taylor is 56 and this man for 28 yards.
So so New England running.
They did Well, the passing didn't have to be amazing.
I mean, you got the tight end ISO in there and you could see how can do is gonna use it to kill Harry to throw.
I was gonna use Edelman the throw he's gonna throw, and he needs to.
This is a we're running on.
First down, we're running on second down, and if it's under five yards, we might as well just run on on four or third down.
This is a run first team at this point, which is something we haven't seen in New England in a very long time, where we're going to run the ball down their throats.
We haven't seen them with Brady.
We've seen them be able to do every once in a little bit.
But we haven't seen it like this.
There, a run heavy team.
They're gonna look that way and I think it's going to really benefit them.
If the defense could hold teams to 11 points now, you may just say it was the Dolphins.
But you know, the defense look pretty good out there.
There are moving around without James.
Jamie Collins without got a high tower without showing without Vanoy.
They were looking really good out there and they were looking like the best defense in the league that they were last year.
So I think New England's in a good position.
They I would say that the best chance to win the division, I still think that they're going to be better than the Bills this year.
I really do believe that this team has a ballpark of going anywhere from nine and seven Thio 12 and four, I would say and I think 10 and six is probably the place that they're gonna be.
So I'd say winning the division at this point is very very, uh, keep something they're very capable of doing at this point.
Yeah, it was a good start for New England, regardless, And I mean, I just I've remembered for the past 15 years that I've been alive, plus five years when Tom Brady's had his career in New England.
There's a lot of check downs, a lot of drop offs, maybe some half that girls in there.
There was no exciting running place.
And today or regardless yesterday, we just saw a lot.
I mean, Cam Newton, like you said 75 rushing yards on 15 attempts.
Sony Michelle around 40 yards.
Rex Burkhead, 30 J J.
Taylor up there, 30 as well.
And then even guys like Julian Edelman.
23 yards home, one attempt and then James White, five Russians for 22 yards.
We've never seen that.
We've never seen New England having offense like this, and that just shows you how important a quarterback really is.
And first of all, this tells us that Cam Newton is not a system QB because Josh McDaniels offense, maybe he's modified it a little bit.
I mean, Cam Newton is not gonna throw the ball 40 times a game like Tom Brady would, but he's really modified the game a little bit for camp, and we can see the benefits of it.
I mean, we never saw this in Carolina, Never.
Not even in 2015 2015.
He was slinging the ball.
And what did that do? It hurt his shoulder three years later.
So it's crazy to May.
And I mean, he's getting guys, you know, he's getting guys involved in the receiving areas.
Well, Julian Edelman, The keel, Harry James White Ryan is? Oh, I guess.
And then JJ Taylor's well, so all in all, I mean, it's got to be really encouraging for Patriots fans and, you know, for Nathan as well to see such a well played game.
You know, there's kind of a kind of a slugfest in a way, but, you know, they scored in three of the four quarters and we're very consistent.
They held the time of possession like they were just, you know, it's not pretty anymore for Patriots football, but it's very, very safe, and it's a lot, you know, it's a lot more like systematic football in a way, their defense to they force Ryan Fitzpatrick with three interceptions.
I mean, usually the early season version of fits.
Good news today or yesterday.
Just much fits tragic.
So New England played a heck of a game yesterday.
I remember when Josh McDaniels was gonna leave and he was like and they were like, Well, why are you leaving? And they were like, There's no real reason for anybody to leave So he was like, Oh, yeah, I'm staying here.
What's the point of me leaving? There's Nobody wants anybody to leave.
So he stayed, and now he's got a Q B that he could do so much more with So him with Cam Newton has been interesting, and we saw it in Week one.
Cam Newton, I think 100% is gonna win Comeback Player of the year and, well, maybe contempt for M V P this year.
I mean, there's like seven guys ahead of them.
I would say Excuse me going into the season, but what do you know? If this guy can run for like 50 yards game, and he could be passed heavy towards the big body guys.
And, like Nick Eel, Harry, I feel like he used to kill Harry a lot.
We can get the ball to Jacoby Meyers a little bit more, but when he was throwing to McKeel Harry, it looked good out there.
So Nikkila Harry.
Even though people were down on him last year, Brady didn't really throw it on that much this year.
Tonight you've got Kanun Cam Newton.
Akil Hair is going to be a very interesting doing this year.
I'd say Harry can get 600 plus yards this year.
I think he's going to be good for them this year.
And then Julian Edelman is always good.
So he played a good game, and even Ryan is that they were able to throw the ball of the tight end, which is something knowing the bottom lasting almost every tight end category last year, which is something you don't see.
When you had rob Gronkowski and you had, you know Moss and you had all these big body not necessarily tightened, but these big body guys.
So it's been a little interesting for sure.
We'll talk about a couple more games and then we'll have some segments of which teams are in trouble.
But one of the games that intrigued me a lot was the Cardinals versus the 40 Niners, and the Cardinals ended up winning this game.
Absolute crazy game.
Kyler Murray popped off in this game 230 yards, one touchdown passing, one interception, obviously, but 91 rushing yard attempt with one rushing touchdown.
That's crazy to may, um, you know, one of the better dual threat quarterbacks in the league, and it's only a second season.
Imagine how much better this guy could get and he was incorporating plenty of other guys in this offense de hop with 150 receiving yards.
That helped my fantasy team a lot.
Um, but this is gonna be really concerning for the 40 Niners, and I really don't know what happened to their defense.
I don't know if Nathan does or not, but, Nathan, if you dio, would you like to explain Thio the viewers? I really don't know what happened to their defense here.
E mean their defense kind of just fell apart a little bit, and this defense is probably top three in the league.
Last year is probably like Ravens, Patriots and Niners.
Last year, I would say, um and Niners Neil played really well last year.
This year, I don't know what happened and the offense it was really a close game.
I mean, the difference with George Kittle being injured of which should be okay, but get him getting injured was the difference.
I mean, I think we're starting to realize that Jimmy Garoppolo is not on all All Star quarterback all around.
Jimmy Garoppolo was a good quarterback.
He's not top 10 in the league.
He's a good quarterback, but he's not amazing and we're starting to realize that.
You know, this team is good as they were last year, able to get to the Super Bowl.
They might not be able to get there because there's a lot of loaded teams in the NFC.
But Kyler Murray, I am starting to be a little worried.
You know, this division right now is one of the toughest in all of sports and I will see that.
But the Cardinals, in any other division, they might be the division leader.
That's how good they are with Kyler.
Murray was one of the best deep ball throwers rookie of the year winner.
Then you had D hop who played very, very well.
You can still catch it, can you? Drake, who ran, had 16 carries, 60 yards.
So much for losing.
Um, David Johnson, I know is David David Johnson.
So much for losing David Johnson.
They're still able to carry the running game, and they take down the 40 Niners.
So if they can win games like that, they might be ableto win, and they might be able to make the playoffs and realistically get somewhere in the playoffs.
Yeah, I mean, Jimmy Garoppolo goat like compared to some of his other games.
And this kind of goes back to the Haskins situation.
How? Haskins had sub 200 yards sub two touchdowns but still had a pretty good game for standards.
Jimmy Garoppolo had 260 yards and two touchdowns, and that's pretty good for him through the ball 19 times.
That's pretty good for him and I'm just trying to figure out in my head what went wrong and then I remember there great defense last year and how they were able to get to the quarterback.
They had two sacks the whole game, and none of them were from their great defensive players.
One was from Kerry Hyder, who many of you don't even know who that is, and the other one's from looking D. J. Jones.
So it's just it's really mind boggling to me.
You know, if this team is so dependent on pressure on getting to the quarterback and their secondary can't step up when they can't, then this team.
Maybe it was just a fluke last year.
Maybe they just were, I don't know.
I'm a little bit triggered by them because they were on my fantasy team and they got me four points.
I was really upset.
So most er, he caught.
He was literally four catches and he had 95 yards, so that's like 20 yards a catch mus****.
And that was the thing.
He was ableto run down last year, but they're not.
They're also asking him to be a good catcher, so I feel like they would have won the game, had killed been in there. The whole time.
Kill had four receptions in 44 yards, so they played well, I think.
I think, um, the 40 Niners played well.
I think it was just that the Cardinals outlasted them.
This one, I mean, it was e played well, they just didn't play well, that well isn't going to get him back to the Super Bowl, because you have the Seahawks who are going to be really good this year.
And, uh, then you have the Saints.
You have the Buccaneers.
You have the Cowboys, the Packers, the even the Rams.
999 Excuse me? Um, who is the Vikings? They have so many teams.
Even the Lions are going to be in the May be in the playoffs this year. The like.
Lyons is a stretch, but seriously, there are a lot of teams this year that are going to be in the playoffs, and the Niners might not even be top forward because what they need to do this year, they need to be the best team in their division, which I can't see happening.
I think the Niners are going to struggle this year.
It's gonna be tough But we always know that.
You know, when the team gets to the Super Bowl that next year they're still gonna have a chance to do it So the Niners can still get back to the big game.
It will be very tough for them to do so, but I want captain Diners out just yet. It's only Week one.
Let's not overreact just yet.
If that will talk about the biggest game of the week, Um, Tom Brady, the Bucks shooting up the place, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.
And the game that we got was a little bit surprising.
34 23 in favor of Saints.
Um, you know wasn't the greatest first game for Tom Brady in the Red and Gray, I guess, if you wanna call it that 23 or 36 for 239 yards, two touchdowns in two interceptions.
And a lot of that was padded stats when the game had no meaning at the end.
Um, now I'm not going to talk about Tom Brady.
I'll let Nathan do that, but I was really impressed by two things that happened in this offense.
First of all being Ronald Jones and the running game.
Ronald Jones got the bulk of the carries 17 for 66 yards.
Really impressed by that.
And they go out and they signed Leonard Fournette and he gets five rushes for five yards.
You know, it is the first game.
And I know we can't overreact with some of this stuff, but not a good start for Leonard Fournette.
Excuse me. Brady rushed it three times.
Is he a new man, man? He got a Russian talking about three times in New England.
He kneeled the ball and lose two yards every game, which was a a killer.
When you're trying to get to 1000 yards, remember, he tried to kneel forwards onto the line.
That way he will lose any yard.
Man, Brady is a new man.
I mean, new team, new place, style like man's gotta update his quarterback archetype from field general to scrambler, I guess.
Um, but second of all, with the receiving and Chris Godwin, six receptions for 79 yards and then Scotty Miller, five receptions for 73 yards.
I'm high on that guy and then o j Howard fourth for four receptions, 36 yards and a touchdown.
Rob Gronkowski two receptions for 11 yards and then Mike Evans left the game because of an injury.
I was just really impressed that Brady actually used O.
Howard in this game because, obviously, in Bruce Arian system tight ends are used as much on Brady relied on his tight ends a lot in New England, but I thought that there would have been any tight end he would have relied on.
I thought it would have been Gronk and I was totally wrong.
Gronk did not have a great game.
Howard had a better game, which that doesn't speak for itself.
I don't know what will, but I guess now we can say that James Winston had a better game than Tom Brady.
No touchdowns, but no interceptions.
Tom Brady, two touchdowns, two interceptions.
How you want it? I guess so.
Here's my take on this game.
First of all, this is the first game to ever have to 40 year old quarterbacks.
Second of all, Tom Brady is the oldest player in the league s oldest player.
Normally, it's a kicker, not this year, it's Tom Brady to be Adam Vinatieri, but he is no longer playing after a amazing career.
But my take away from this game was the offense, because the offense is gonna be the focal point of this team this year.
Six perception, 79 yards.
Scott Miller, like you said, excited about him this year.
Had a good game.
Howard. Good game. But Mike Evans.
He played a bulk of this game, a good portion of the game.
I know he was injured, but he played a good portion of this game.
I'm not to worried about him.
So this offense was a little bit question.
More like Rob Gronkowski.
The thing about Rob Gronkowski I was explaining this to my broadcast is they're not using him to be the best guy to go out there and make catches and have 70 yards a game.
They're asking him to go out there and be a guy where you have a double team on Evans in a normal game.
Maybe a double team on call when you got somebody over there.
Somebody over here and you have Bronco open to be able to make the catch and get them down the field on a third down, where everybody else is covered and rock is able to make the catch.
That's what they're asking him for.
That's why they signed him.
Brady likes crockery.
Bronc likes Brady.
That's why they're there.
And you've got Gronk.
When he's in the end zone, they're able to throw it to him.
That's why they have brought just another weapon there.
You know, they really didn't need him to do too much either.
But he did play, you know.
Okay, I would say.
And I'm a little worried about Tampa Bay.
Uh, but, you know, I'm not too worried.
I realized that things were gonna have to get going, But Brady Brady, like we said, this was something that was talked about.
Brady is accustomed to, you know, a routine in New England.
Now I had to learn a whole new playbook.
He's got whole new receivers.
He doesn't have a lot of familiarity other than Gronkowski.
So that's the reason, in my opinion, why this ship sunk today.
And so I'm taking a long time to explain this.
But really, this team is in trouble if they can't get it together, because it's kind of a little bit of a short season.
When you think about no preseason toe, warm up and get ready.
No, really long training camps.
It's shorter, shortened up, so they have less time to prepare.
Their preseason game was Week one, where they try to figure things out.
They're gonna have to get things together fast or this ship could sink.
And you might see a 79 Buccaneers team and wondered what happened this year.
They have to get things together.
I still believe they will, but it will just take time saying They're just They're just they've been here before.
I mean, Michael Thomas, that injury late in the game, I saw that play when he got kind of his foot traveled on by camera.
But I'm not worried, okay? I'm not worried, guys or whoever. Murray.
I'm not worried about the Buccaneers, but I am a little worried if they can't get things together moving forward.
So no, nothing worthy of being overreacted to.
It's just a matter of getting things done when they need to get things done.
Yeah, I don't know we'll have to see.
They write like like you said they didn't have a whole preseason to get toe know each other.
It was just basically just practice for some of these guys.
Um, last thing we'll talk about before we'll preview Monday night.
Um, should we be worried about the Dallas Cowboys after their embarrassing loss on Sunday Night Football? How about them Cowboys? Um, as hopefully many of you guys know, me and Stephen A.
Smith have a couple of things in common.
First of all being.
We both love sports.
Second of all, we both have our own talk show together.
We're not together, but we both have our own individual talk shows.
And finally, we both hate the Cowboys with a burning passion.
As a football team fan, I was really happy to see the outcome of this game was awesome.
Rams played really well.
I for sure thought Dallas was gonna win this late in the game, and they didn't.
They almost did on the pass interference call a Michael Gallup that maybe never waas actually pass interference.
Um, personally, I didn't get to watch the game.
I watched highlights and clips of it I think it was pass interference by both guys.
I think it could have went either way.
Well, you know, defensive path.
This interference by both guys.
Well, you know what does that make sense? Because it was a close play.
What I'm saying is, it could have been pass interference on Gallup or on Jalen Ramsey.
It could have went either way.
And it just went, um, Dak Prescott.
Most overpaid guy in the league, 66 yards and a touchdown, Uh, did not play up to his $40 million.
Zeke had a pretty good game.
96 rushing yards and a touchdown.
I was very surprised.
Isn't used Tony Pollard Maurin the game on Lee? Two touches for 10 yards.
Just receiving game.
The receiving game was strong, but it wasn't super strong.
Amari Cooper 81 yards, CD lamb, 59 yards and the Michael Gallup 50 yards.
Darwin left the game with a big injury.
And then, of course, I have to address this before Nathan talks.
Everybody has been adding me and been like man, Dallas is such a better defensive line in Washington.
Week one comes around Washington absolutely decimates the Eagles.
And then I'm looking right now and Dallas has.
Dallas has one sack in the entire game, and that's Aldon Smith.
You know, if that doesn't tell you how bad off, how bad is your thinking process was? I don't know.
What does I mean? Come on now, if you have.
If you think that, then U S C t I'm sorry, but you cannot go out to somebody and say, Oh, I think Dallas is a better defensive line than you know, the football team.
But Nathan, I'll let you talk.
I'm done ranting about that.
I agree. The Cowboys.
You know, the Cowboys.
They are the most disappointing team in recent football history. One.
They have one of the best and most talented teams in the league.
They're 100% top five.
You got one of the best Q B s in the top 10 and Jack Press Guy.
You've got a Marquis Cooper Michael Gallup in seedy lamb, three receivers who they've loaded up in the scheme in which they think they can utilize these three guys.
And to be honest with you, Michael Gallup cannot be having cannot be averaging 50 yards a game.
Michael Gallup needs to be averaging 70 towards 80.
We need Mawr out of him.
Amari Cooper played well, but I want 100 yards out of him.
A game for the Cowboys to be successful.
CD, Lamb, your rookie.
That's where you should be.
But these guys have to pay play better, in my opinion.
But however, it wasn't the really the offense.
I mean, Zeke Elliot, 22 carries 96 yards.
Okay, but it wasn't really the offense.
It was the defense for the Cowboys giving Jared Goff 275 yards, giving Robert Williams Robert Williams.
Robert Woods had 105 yards.
You got cooked with 40.
Hate me with 40 Brown 31.
I mean, even the rushing game.
They had no Todd Gurley, No problem.
Malcolm Brown had 18 79 yards and two touchdowns.
They ate Did excuse me that five guys that had over 30 yards.
That cannot happen for the Cowboys defense.
The Cowboys fell apart there, one of the most talented teams of football.
This cannot happen to the Cowboys, the Cowboys.
I am betting on you to win the division this year.
You cannot lose this division to the Eagles, the football team or the Giants.
You can't lose this division.
You got to go after it.
This is a close game.
The Cowboys came up short.
I don't know what what more to say, but this is just so embarrassing.
They just did not play good.
I think people are tired of watching the Cowboys sit around and look like a little team over here or peewee team.
I think we need to stop.
We need to stop, and we need to recoup.
And we need to relook at this team.
They need to be better than they are right now, because they're just not good.
It's just not good at all.
I mean, when Ha ha Clinton Dix was your best secondary player and your entire secondary and then you cut him a week before the season, that really doesn't help either.
Um, you know, Dallas is just, you know, new coach, you know, new money, new contracts, same old, same old results.
Um, it's gonna be our year, right? Another year to go eight and eight.
Um, but finally, that is our review of week one of the NFL season.
We will talk about our to Monday Night Football games, and all will make them quick so it doesn't get super long.
The first one is between the New York football Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Nathan, Who do you have winning this game? I'm gonna go with Steelers here.
I feel like the Steelers.
If Ben Roethlisberger and I don't know about Ben Roethlisberger, everybody is like, I mean, a lot of people are dying in, but a lot of people are saying like if Ben Roethlisberger is healthy, then he's gonna be good this year.
If you know if the Steelers air good this year, then they might be able to make the playoffs and do all that good.
I agree that they could make the playoffs, but Ben Roethlisberger is 38 years old.
In my opinion, he's falling off this cliff right now.
I mean, he is yelping for help.
He's on the edge. He's about to slip.
Is an avalanche.
She's fallen off the cliff, man.
That's what I think.
That's my opinion on him.
I really do believe that after his injury last year, you look ahead to this year.
I don't think it's going to go well for the Steelers.
I'm taking them over the Giants here.
I don't think it's going to go over the Steelers and the fact that they're gonna be able to be a playoff team.
The fact that they'll be able to win the Super Bowl, although people some how think that this team should make the class? But after this year, I don't think Ben Roethlisberger is gonna have another good season.
I think he's gonna be average this year, maybe a little above average.
But Ben Roethlisberger? I think he's falling off this cliff very, very soon.
And then and then for Did you just Miss Schuster? And they have some good guys that can catch the football.
So if they can put that toe work and you know good defense would make Fitzpatrick, then this team should be good to go.
E think Pittsburgh is ultimately gonna win this game.
They were the better team, better defense.
All they really need is a quarterback to take them to the playoffs.
I mean, they've been on literally the brink of making into the playoffs that they've just been right on the outskirts of it with Devlin, Duck, Hodges and Mason route off, You know, with those types of quarterbacks.
Now you get back.
Big Ben, who's not gonna be anything extraordinary this year.
But he will be a lot better than both of the dice.
And that Eric Ebron as well LeBron yeah, was also who was a star in the It was in the Pro Bowl a few years back.
Yes, um, I I will say this will be a lot closer than most people expect because Daniel Jones, I think he could be really good this year.
I think he could break out as good of it is as good of a chance to break out as Drew lock.
Or maybe, like, maybe not Kyler Murray, because it's gonna be a lot harder for Kyler.
The breakout, especially from its first year.
But Daniel Jones definitely does have a really good chance to break out, say Kwan Barkley as well on Ben Just Sterling Shepard.
I mean, 57 receptions for 576 yards and three touchdowns in 2019.
Evan Engram, 467 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
They have some weapons along with Darius Slaten.
They've got a new left tackle and Andrew Thomas.
It could happen.
I don't want it to happen because I don't wanna be tied with somebody for first in the A f c E N f c East.
But it could happen.
I think it's gonna be a lot closer than expected.
As for our second game, though, the Tennessee Titans versus the Denver Broncos.
Uh, you know, Nathan, you could go ahead on this one, But really, I think the Titans, we're gonna beat them.
The Broncos were just there to young their inexperience.
What? We're going to see what the Broncos tonight is.
What we saw with the Buccaneers yesterday.
They've got a lot of new pieces coming into the team.
A boy Drew, lock Jerry, Judy, KJ handler and relevant Gordon.
A lot of new guys on this team messing with some old guys on the team that have been on the team for a while and the chemistry just might not work out.
Meanwhile, Tennessee, they've been the king of being good, not great.
Nine and 74 straight seasons.
Now I think they should win this game.
I don't know, Brad.
I think it's I don't think it's gonna be necessarily a destroy a completely destroying.
So this this Broncos team? Because I don't think so either.
I just think the win with ease.
That doesn't necessarily mean 20 points for maybe, like, one or two possessions.
Okay, But, you know, you have to look at the Broncos and they've got Drew lock, obviously at the Hub a za quarterback.
But, I mean, they picked up a lot of guys in the draft.
What? Jerry, Judy, I believe, um, they've got a lot of they've got tight ends.
They've got guys like that.
So I'm looking at the I'm looking at the Broncos, and I feel like if their offense can you going behind you block block, they might be ableto win.
I mean, Ryan Tannehill, I really don't know.
I feel like he's gonna have a little bit of a down year this year.
Obviously they signed Jadeveon Clowney.
I believe it. Waas They did.
They just signed.
So I don't know.
But I mean, I'm not necessarily so excited about this Broncos team.
But you know, if they can stop there, Henry, at some point in this game, they might be able to win.
I think the Broncos were going to take it.
I think they're going to be ableto somewhat stop him, and I think that their offense is going to get going behind Drew lock.
And then, you know, maybe you'll have some big games, big game from your tight ends and stuff because they picked up a lot of them in the draft.
So I'm hoping that they can have a good year this year.
I'd say they might be ableto win that second spot in that division this year because it's up for grabs at this point.
But with that being said guys that will wrap up today's episode or or the weekly episode of the coach's office now, this will be a Siri's throughout the NFL season, where we'll just talk about the biggest headlines, this stories and all the big games that you definitely want ****ysis on, um, what with that being said, Thank you all so much for watching.
As always, I was coach Brad.
That's Coach Nathan and we'll see you guys next time on the coach's office
