Well, look at the tape and evaluate where we need to go for next week's game.
Well, but if you offensive pass interference on both sides today, uh, several other penalties.
Was that something you kind of expected? Maybe in the first game, with questions.
I was just asked that question.
Way Can't control that.
I mean, you know, in other words, um, you know the game is gonna be officiated, and especially this year, we're trying to really just focus on the things that we can control and you just wanna have.
Hopefully, it's consistent.
But look, we look at the film and go from there.
Just a Elvin, uh, coming out with two touchdowns today.
I e mean, did did he look exactly like the kind of player you're expecting today? I mean, just after the injuries last year.
Look, it was is that a great camp? And you know I throughout Can't you see it in the step? I'm proud of how we played, and I thought we had some good looks for him. Offensively.
Uh, you know, I said it early on.
He's a big part of our offense and He's kind of one of those versatile players, so I'm glad he's on our team.
All right, thank you.
Once again, Sean Payton talking about today's game.
So I'll be honest with you, to tell you the truth, like this game right here.
What? We was welcome into the New Orleans Saints postgame show presented by Mercedes Benz.
I'm Caroline Gonzalez alongside John to shake.
Your Saints are undefeated so far.
They go on to know to start the season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a win 34 to 23 JD This this game really came down to the turnovers for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Seems like Well, things were able to cash in on all three of two touchdowns and a field goal, and that's 17 points.
That's half of their 34.
So there in lies the problem for Tampa Bay and obviously the Saints.
You know you gotta be able to take advantage of those situations, and they were able to do so.
Gotta pick six from Jackrabbit Jenkins, his eighth defensive touchdown in his career, which is tied for eighth in NFL history, which says something about the way he plays and also Margus Hunt blocks a field goal that takes points off the board for Tampa Bay.
So any time you get a team in a situation like that, where used that fortuitous, when they turn it over, you're probably gonna win like Peyton Set.
And we'll be hearing from Drew Brees and several other players soon.
This is the only place where you can get those live press conferences, so make sure to stay tuned for those.
But do you think Tampa Bay? It was just continuity.
It was a chemistry.
I mean, no preseason games.
This was their first time going out there as a team for the Buccaneers.
What was the same defense like you said that good? Or was it really just happened in their chemistry? Well, I thought this, and I thought that the entire off season, I might have said it once or twice.
It's ridiculous to think that they can just come together, throw together that many Darien point parts and then just all of a sudden, run out on the field and be in sync.
It just doesn't happen that way.
You don't have a pre seed.
They didn't have o.
T. A s to go through. They didn't have many cancer.
All that cohesion, all those throws, all that play calling and learn the playbook.
None of that happened.
You did it. Virtually.
You went to training camp.
And of course, you have a couple of contact days, but not the normal type of contact.
So it's difficult to get and think if your team like Tampa back, we're actually gonna go here from tight end for the Saints.
Jared Cook right now.
Okay, Saints tight end Jared Cook.
Let's see if we could get a connection when it looks like, um, yeah, So I grabbed a B connection.
I don't know what's going on.
Hopefully, they can get that rectified.
Looks like we can hear him.
Yeah, you know, see if we got we see if we gotto see if the audio's turned up yet audio is turned up, but it's not coming in from their side.
So once again, we can hear them.
So hopefully we could get they get that audio, uh, fix, because that's some a problem right now.
So So, once again, um uh um hopefully we can get the signal by, um, Jared Cook.
We want to hear what Jared Cook had to say.
Looks like we're not getting that signal.
It's probably on their side, so it's not on outside.
Everything is on there.
This, you know, our fans fuel and people.
They get us going in those things through their encourage meaning and making noise.
And it was just a day where you had to bring your own juice, bring your own energy.
We did the best we could to try to heip each other up and keep each other going on the sideline.
This question from Sean Prison.
I know early in the game, I think the first four third downs Drew went to you, I guess just can you just talk about just the importance of coming up big on third down? Uh, you know, especially once you get to the red zone third down.
It's so important because, you know, you want to stay on the field and you wanna keep right.
It was a lot of looks, uh, where we weren't expecting some of the ones that they were given us.
Like, I think the 1st 3rd down, they just played like a cover for deep zone and he was checked it down to me.
And then on the next, when they kind of the same thing, they just owned it off.
I said it was able to pick up a third down in the red zone.
So, uh, third down is important down.
First, keep the change moving, and it keeps us going.
So just always got to be there for number nine when you're ready.
Or maybe just Alvin two touchdowns for him today.
Relatively big day for him.
And you know so close to him getting that extension.
What was it like for you to see him be as productive and as 100% which he wasn't last year? Man, it's awesome.
Especially coming off of the week that he had.
I think he definitely deserved.
I think he showed he's one of the best backs in the league, and, uh, he was just out there flying around all day, especially on towards the end of the game.
Hey, caught the one on the sideline and was able to kind of get us down to the five.
So, um, it was huge, and he's a huge asset for us on, uh and just, you know, ball movement, keeping ball movement just because he's so virtual you could move him around, he could do so many things.
So it was good to see him get going and it should have been three touchdowns.
But I will hold on to that.
Your last question for Jeff Duncan.
Yeah, Jared, Because of the unprecedented nature of this preseason without having exhibition games, How different did this feel for you? All these years you've been in the league and did you have even Mawr anticipation to see what? What you all would perform like in the open? Um, it was quite different, you know, this whole season, even pretty much the whole game.
We're on the sideline talking about how different it was even up until after the game, when we weren't sure we could even shake hands with him or even walk across the field and talkto.
Um, but, you know, you just got to stay with group.
Everything from start to finish was weird.
The only crowd knows we had was some of our inactive players that were understands that were cheering so loud, and I think they did a great job bringing energy themselves.
Uh, it was definitely definitely felt a little off.
Like I said before, you just gotta bring your own energy.
You gotta bring your own juice.
Okay? I think we're all set. Thanks, Jared.
And, uh, once again, Jared Cook, we'll have more from Group Breeze and Williams.
So Marcus Williams coming up.
So there it is on.
Then we'll have your breeze.
We only have time for five.
The first question is gonna be from Amy.
Yeah, Marcus on that pick, it looked like you jumped 10 ft in the air.
Like what did you see? How did that work down for you? Just in the ball in here? He's doing up.
Seem right with Mike.
Pull it up in the bar.
I want to go get it.
Next question from Elena Bergeron.
How important was the sideline for you guys today in terms of hyping y'all up? At one point, I think in the third quarter, somebody looked over to the sideline.
There was a song playing that we couldn't hear up here.
What were you all singing to each other? We just get hype.
You know, we have to bring our own energy today.
We don't have fans, you know, we love to have our family here, but we have to bring our own energy.
So that's really what our sideline was doing.
And we also had our inactive players understands giving us some do, too.
So we have to bring as much interview as we could today.
That's what we did on the sideline Next.
Questions with Doug Newtown Hey, Marcus, from your vantage point, how good were Marshawn and generous on the outsides? Today? They lock up each and every play.
They take it one play at a time, being a being a safety back there, You know, I don't have to worry about much, especially when they're locking up each and every play.
And just having those two guys on the outside lane just give me time to roll back there and do my job.
Do their job with no worries because that's just what they do next.
Questions from Luke Johnson.
What did you see from your perspective on generous Jenkins? Uh, pick six.
That's what he does.
He's 10th all time and pick sixes now, so that's just what he does.
He the ball hockey makes plays don't get their balls in his handgun.
You go ahead. Amy.
That was my question.
I'll ask another if nobody's got Okay, Rods got one.
Rod and Marcus, when you got that interception, you know, you all ran down and took the photo.
Uh, what was it like with no fans out there doing that? E mean we do this.
We do this all the time.
Whether it's in practice or it's the game, we're gonna keep that same energy.
We're gonna keep that same momentum.
That's just what we do.
You know, we created that take away, take a picture on the sideline thing.
So today we just continue to do it.
Bring on, and that just gets everybody get intercepted, go down to the ends. Going Take.
So okay, we're all set.
Thank you, Marcus.
So, Marcus Williams, about the next album Camara coming up next.
Go ahead and 30 questions in the chat, and I'm calling you.
First question is gonna be from Luke Johnson.
Alvin, this first time we were talking to you since you signed your contract, So, uh, how nice is it just to have that behind you now and just focus on football, man.
Um, you know, a lot going on behind that.
Um, you know, it's just definitely blessed me, This organization, um, thanks to ****i And, you know, Prue Chi and and all those guys work behind the scenes and get it done.
Sean, um, I'm here, you know. Thank you.
So definitely excited.
Next question from Nick Underhill.
You guys fought through it, and you guys, you know, obviously scored the points you needed, but what were some of the things that they were doing that that made it tough? It kind of seems like it was, you know, kind of a struggle for a while just sticking in there.
I don't think that really they they weren't really doing too much.
I think you know, I think we just started a little slow, had to get going, kind of get into a flow.
It's the first game.
Um, so I'm I'm sure we'll look at the film and see some things that we could have done better, but I don't think they did too much to really, like deterrent from what we wanted.
Thio kind of getting in our own flow.
For maybe just at two touchdowns for you today.
A third, depending on who you ask.
How did you feel out there today? Just especially with how last season went for you, man, I feel healthy, so I felt pretty good.
You know, like I said, a little bit of a slow start.
But, um, you know, we got going and we were able to put some points out There is a big place feeling good.
Uh, you know, just have to be back.
Next question from Doug Luton.
Yeah. Hey, Alvin.
Sean Payton said that his own play calling was awful.
That's what he said.
Um, did the weirdness of all the offseason.
No preseason, just all the you think that played a role in just not finding the rhythm today.
I think I think it could be that, you know, that's what that's what I like, I said, I don't think they did anything to really stop.
I think we just have to kind of find are flowing getting the river.
So it's the first week.
I think next week will be better.
A last question to maybe just yeah, Drew connected with Jared Cook for 45 plus yard pass, I guess.
What did you see on that? Um, and how did that help y'all? Gains of motivation, man.
I mean, it's a big play.
You know, Jared makes plays.
When? When? When he's asked to make plays on.
I mean, who's on the moment? Just being able to get that big black player person is, uh, she was just a great plan.
Thank you. Thanks.
Um all right, we have jackrabbit next.
So, Jack Rabbit coming up.
So that's the next player coming up.
Okay, first question is gonna be from Amy.
Just Yeah, that pick six, I guess.
What did you see? Uh, how did you see that unfolding? You could just, you know, grab right onto that and score there, There in the second where we knew, um, they hadn't ran it all game.
Ondas, we're watching them earlier during the week Noted that they've got running eso that start Janoris Jenkins.
So generous Chickens.
Next question is from Lucas Jack Rabbit.
Is it any any extra special getting a pick six against Brady? Just considering all he's done is that may be your first against him, that my first pig stinks.
But that's not my first. Unacceptable.
Uh, it is the hunter.
Uh, just I've seen the play, and I made it.
Next question from Nick Underhill, Uh, to first the double out Was that a, uh, camp a player? Patriots player that you guys have noticed? That was a temple play? Um, some temple ran a lot last year.
We just knew that they were gonna add it in the second half and that what they did coming out on the first drive, and I just read it and broke on it.
Questions from Doug Newton.
Yeah, more about the same play.
I'm sorry, but so you guys knew that that was coming had been waiting all game for it.
And then when it didn't come, you talked and said this is coming soon.
So that was all about anticipation, right? Participation, communication, knowing what came early in the game and what's coming late in the game.
You got to know that we're playing defense back, you know, man, that, you know, we very experienced we talked about it and communicated it on the sideline.
Last question from Nick Underhill.
Just the adjustments you guys made after that first job.
Like things got a lot better after you settled in.
Can you just talk about that process And you know how you got settled in a little bit? We just set of them.
Everybody came together understanding, understanding.
That was our first game out.
Everybody together, Um, told him.
Keep your head up. Keep playing.
Just the first drive. Just come out.
Stay in the moment.
Now we did. We ran fast.
Okay, we're all set.
Thanks, Jack. Rabbit.
Okay, once again. Drunk.
Jenkins. General Jenkins.
Next we have Margus Hunt.
Then Drew Brees will be next.
No idea how toe set this Zoom for somebody 67 So Hey, guys, if you have a question for markets, go ahead. Put in the chat.
So, Marcus, um, first one from, maybe just yeah, How did it feel to get, you know, elevated from the practice squad and then to make a big play like that? Awesome.
I mean, great week preparation.
Uh, just how to get the, you know, 1st, 1st little jitters out starting off the game.
And, you know, it was kind of smooth sailing after that.
Next question from Luke Johnson.
Uh, is that exactly what you anticipated? Marcus is, uh, coming in and getting a block kick.
Since it's kinda appears to be a good thing.
I don't know if I anticipated, but since you know, there wasn't a preseason, um, that kind of unit still poll building block kind of unit, his heart replicating in practice.
So, um, we just had to put everything out there that we had, and we came out with a blocked field.
Experts from Doug Newtown.
Hey, how would you describe the atmosphere on the sideline in the in the stadium? All of it.
Uh, it's very different from my previous trips to the dome.
So, um I mean, it's just way have to create the energy, and we have to bring the energy, encourage each other along, and keep pushing each other.
And you know where things happen? Yes.
For maybe just yeah.
So I got to your block The one of the angles that we saw it made it look like the ball hit you in the face did it actually hit you in the face or did the O bruise So the camera does, like All right, thanks.
Okay, now that we're all set. Thank you, Marcus.
E with Come next up, Drew Brees will come up in the second.
So once again, we'll wait for Drew Brees.
So we'll just wait for Drew Brees to come up, so he should be up in a second.
So once again, I'm gonna be honest with you.
That was one of the most, uh, prolific players in this game today.
He had an interception on Tom Brady on on in the past.
He returned to 36 yards.
So I look at it this way.
So we're waiting.
Should be up in a second.
So if you're in here, you want to come in video chat with us, You could come in through the stream, your chat room chat link section that Z in SportsCastr twitch and, uh, Facebook.
So come on down.
We have two people in the room.
Okay, guys, First question is gonna be from Jeff Duncan. Jeff.
Yeah, Drew, You've played in a lot of games in the Superdome.
What was that like at their house? Different was it? It was different.
I'm not gonna lie.
Um, you know, you run out, and obviously you're used to with the energy and the emotion in the dome.
You know, the fans, obviously, with each and every play, you know, you're waiting for that fan reaction like that.
Big cheer on a big offensive player, a big defensive stopper, special teams player or whatever it might be.
And, um, you know, obviously, you know, they play stand up and get crunk.
And it was It was only at 75 decibels, right? Not about the 100 decibels like it normally is with everybody singing and dancing along with it.
So, um, and they didn't do chopper style justice either.
You know, they had to keep that that volume down to which was disappointing way.
Wish that we wish we had fans out there.
We wish they were.
You know, um, able to be out there with us and be a part of this, but a stage.
Listen, this is this is the normal for now.
And so I think for us coming into it.
Obviously, we knew it was gonna be different.
We knew there was gonna be, um, just some unknowns.
But at the end of the day, it was Hey, worry about what we can control create our own energy, you know, focused on the job that we have to dio and listen.
I thought it was a great team win.
You know, we're gonna look at the tape, and there's gonna be plenty of mistakes.
Um, in all areas of this game.
I mean, obviously, we could get so much better, um, in so many areas, But at the end of day, it was a great team winning.
It's a really good point.
Next question from Captain Teryl actually have to Have you ever noticed how loud the net going up and down and the smoke machines are before? Because we could hear them all the way up here, which was weird.
Yeah, here's the thing.
I mean, everything was toned down, you know, like even the smoke machines and all that stuff.
I'm telling you, it was probably, like, 25% of what it normally so you know, even just kind of that little buzz in the stadium that they create, you know, in between plays or kind of during the game that 70 decibels, that just feels like a whisper compared to what it normally is.
Uh, the other question I was gonna ask is did you guys come out with the intention in the first quarter? First half to doom or intermediate and shorter throws? Or was that mawr of what the defense just happened to be giving, you know, they were staying on top, you know, they weren't really allowing us to first the ball down the field, you know, we called a few shot plays, Actually, one of them, you know, they brought a pressure and just got to me.
Otherwise, I think we have a big play.
Um, otherwise, you know, way wanted to establish the run against a very good run defense.
We felt like that would open up opportunities, passing game.
I felt like Listen, there was plenty of room to be more efficient.
We weren't as efficient in the passing game is.
I know we can be.
I want to be, um but at the end of the day, you know, we were the beneficiaries of good field position.
You know from special teams blocking a kick, making some plays, defense turnovers.
You know that That that that really, I think we felt like, man, we will always have the moments.
And every time we step on the field field, next question from Sean Prison.
Just describe what you saw on the 46 yard connections that Jared cooking fourth quarter.
Yeah, well, you know, speaking of big plays, you know, I think obviously deep comes out against the fix fix to start off the second half, which was which was awesome.
And then, you know, they respond and bring it back to 24 to 17.
And so offensively, you know, we had 23 announce and you know, we really hadn't managed that third quarter very well.
So fourth quarter and we knew we needed an explosive play.
We needed something just to get us going and, you know, had the opportunity to check the play that, you know, felt like had some down the field opportunities, and Jared got behind the defense and we got a big play a couple of days later.
You know, sport of Emmanuel Sanders.
And obviously that was That was a big jump in that game, you know, going from one possession of two possessions.
And that's when I think we felt like they were just building on the lead here.
Now, next question from Doug Newton.
Sean described his own play calling in this game as awful.
That was his word.
Did it feel out of synch to you for a big part of this game? Well, if you ask me how I felt like I played, I'd probably say I played awful A swell go.
Um, we're, I guess, way get to be our harshest critics.
You know, coming off this game.
I know that there's certainly we're used to playing a much higher level offensively, and I think especially passing game, So we'll get that back on track.
Next question from Nick Underhill Should I was saying to that that they were doing some stuff in coverage that maybe you guys weren't expecting that they were doing more of it than you usually see from them.
Can you just describe some of the stuff they were saying? That that did make it a little bit harder toe Move the ball? Yeah, Yeah, they did some different stuff and listen, God, goals is a great defensive coordinator, and you know that He's always gonna have a very specific plan for you.
Listen, they executed it very well.
Um, I think the best thing we did was, you know, we took care of the football.
We ran the ball well, we put together some long drives were only three of six in the red zone, which obviously wants four touchdowns.
Every time we get the Reds owner a t least be much more efficient than that.
Third down was pretty pitiful.
We could be a lot better there.
But listen, we always know that regardless of what you see on film, you got to go out and play the game.
Defense is always seem to have a very specific plan for us playoffs, much different than maybe what they showed other people, just based on our personnel and everything else.
So now we're constantly having to adjust, adjust on the fly.
That's just what we do.
Um, and we definitely could have done a better job today.
With that next question from Christopher Donald's well, Michael Thomas had one of his most quiet games as a member of the Saints.
Was that Ah, credit mortar? What the Bucks defense was doing, Or was that something that you guys were game playing for? Of maybe focusing more on the run game this week? Well, I mean, listen, I think you definitely want to get him or targets and more opportunities.
I missed him on a throw or two where we should have connected.
Um, but still, overall, you know, I think his his target number was lower than it usually is.
Um, Didn't feel like there were a ton of opportunities just based on, um, you know, the way that we were, you know, just kind of run the ball and doing some other things.
Um, so I just played out that way.
Stubborn, thick questions from Chris Hayden Drew, it seems like on those on those first couple third downs, you targeted Jared Cook a good bit.
You were obviously successful with a number of them later in the game.
Is that just the result of the chemistry growing between you guys Kind of carrying over from last year? Yeah, absolutely.
Listen, I I'm so confident with Jared, I think he's a great matchup.
You know, regardless of who's on him, Obviously, obviously, his size speed, Um, and his ability to separate, you know, typically, if he's getting safety and linebacker matchups, you know, that's good for us.
Um, you know, Listen with all of our personnel, you know you throughout personnel grouping with Trey Pawn and Mike Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
I mean, it's like, pick your poison.
So that's a good problem to have.
But I think just again overall, we could definitely be more efficient with with the passing game.
Next question from Look, Ricardo LoConte.
And speaking of that personnel, Alvin had two touchdowns for you guys.
Um, how important is Thio giving you guys balance on offense and the same token? Him getting that deal done? And that's out of the way? Um, I'm sure you know, that's that's a big relief for him.
And you don't have to worry about, you know, that pressing issue going into this people correct.
I mean, listen, we're, uh we're football players, and we know we know what's at stake here.
We know what? Um, you know, we're trying to build, um and, uh, obviously accomplished.
And so you know the end Today we understand the contracts were part of the game.
You know, it doesn't change.
The preparation doesn't change the mindset that certainly it's good to know that that's that's done.
Science well delivered and, you know, um so yeah, good.
Next question. From Mike Triplet.
There was a lot of historic overtones for this game you passed, bred far for for career past attempts.
But also, obviously, you and Tom being in this game the only 2 40 plus year olds toe to start a game.
You now have the career edge on him.
Any any appreciation for any of that in this game, either, either before now that it's over, Yeah, I mean, listen, of course it's significant, and it's it's unique.
Uh, I'd be lying thio if I said it didn't mean, you know, a little bit more.
Obviously I've got you know, so much love and respect for him and what he's been able to accomplish him and obviously his jury.
And they're really both of our journeys.
And we played against each other in college, for goodness sakes, 1999.
I'm sure There's some guys on our team that weren't born when that game happened.
But, you know, at the end of the day, actually, way would both pinch ourselves.
You know, if you told us back then that we have the opportunity to play, you know, this long and be a part of so many great teams and so many great moments.
Um, but yeah, nothing but respect for him.
And they got a great team, and we're gonna have to worry about that later on in the years.
Well, um, but for now, it's nice to get that way.
Okay. Last question from Elena Bergeron.
We saw a lot of different things from teams around the league leading into Week one in the performances both of the national anthem and the black national anthem.
What was the conversation like with this team about how you guys would approach it? You know, at the end of the day, obviously, that's everybody's own personal decision.
Uh, but you know, what we were focused on and what we think focused on a team and as a group of leaders is how can we continue to social justice conversations, You know, both within our locker room and around the country, Um, and really utilizing the platform that we have to be a strong voice for those who don't don't have one.
And so we've adopted he say, her name campaign.
We've got a bunch of great stuff that we're gonna be rolling out throughout this season, so stay tuned for that.
But we're really excited about that.
Obviously, the opportunity to build it, bring him bring attention to and highlights so many issues, especially the base black women.
Okay, we're all set.
Thank you. Thank you. Okay.
Once again, Drew Brees, I'm gonna be honest with the play call was absolutely crap tonight.
Tomorrow, Davis Coming up.
So tomorrow, Davis.
So once again, we'll go back.
Just put it in the chat, and I call on you.
First question from Nick Underhill.
Hey, Demayo was reported during the game that you signed a contract extension last night.
Um, you just talk about what? That that means you and you know, just coming coming into your own air and and being able to get that contract, man, it's so much of its There's so much of a blessing.
You know, Uh, now, I'm just so blessed.
You know me, my family.
It s so much of a blessing, and I really can't even put it in the words, you know? Yeah.
I mean, in 2016 I was back in Cleveland, You know what I mean? I was I was contemplating retirement, you know, I was like, uh, I prayed, You know, like, God, if you're not done with me in this game, then, you know, use me, you know, rejuvenate my mind, rejuvenate my body.
And he did that.
And since then, you know, I was able to go to New York, be successful, get a contract here, not get, you know, an extension and then plant in my backyard playing on a phenomenal team.
And, you know, I'm just so blessed for me.
It was really I didn't want to leave this family.
I didn't wanna leave his brother.
You know, eso when I was in a situation where, you know, potentially go and play it and creating CIA state.
Man, you know, I just wanted to be here, and it's so much talent.
So much love, So much passion.
Great culture, great community.
Um So me and my family was blessed.
Just have an extension here.
And, uh, Tina spent a couple more years here with this brotherhood and his family and chase our goals and And when this with the ball and and more.
Next question from Katherine Teryl tomorrow when your contract actually get done.
Was that sometime late last night? I feel like it kind of snuck by and hasn't been in the works for a while.
You know, they say real G's moving silence.
Like like lasagna.
One of my favorite quotes.
And so, yeah, it was It's been in work in the works for a minute.
Um, uh, but, you know, I got I got a great agency with C a Tom Condon and a great relationship with Nikki on.
Uh, they worked it out and got it done.
Um, it was done, you know, I was working all the way up to the game, but we got it done in time.
So that's a blessing.
Next question from Luke Johnson tomorrow.
Just what did you think about the team's defensive effort today? Especially just kind of, you know, with, like, the big plays from Marcus and generous.
And, uh, they kind of keeping you all, uh, despite the offense, Kind of struggling for a bit.
Yeah, well, I mean, the offense makes a struggle, but, you know, any time you got 40 points on the board, not I'm not gonna say you struggle.
And so for us defensively, you know, it was just important for us.
Um, you know, we knew we would be facing a good offense, a lot of weapons, Arguably one of the greatest quarterback that they ever play the game.
Probably talk to, you know, uh, and so we knew it was gonna be a challenge.
We knew it was gonna be a dogfight.
And I got defensive front play played amazing.
Um, you know, even though some stuff we gotta clean up, but, I mean, just playing phenomenal when you were able to play, I like to keep our safety is over the top of these, all those great receivers and s I was on the front thio clean up two runs and did a phenomenal job with that.
Then, you know, having to take away so many of their good targets when you've got front house getting that given God when you know and so on down at the end of the day, you know, takeaways are trump card.
And so, Marcus, I mean, he's been doing that since we got the lead.
You know, arguably one of the three sectors in the game and then Genoa Jenkins for him, uh, to do one of our defense goal.
You know, I defensive goal is to break the touchdown record.
And so he started to stop, right? You know? And so I think I think now we gotta get, like, nine more tired or something like that.
So, um, for him to make that play, that's what he does.
I think he moved up like cops.
He and all the time for defensive touchdown, which he's in great company.
Eso is not new to him, eh? So we just got so many great players and great coaching.
So it's our job.
Thio, go out and put it in, you know, stop performances. No matter.
What else is going on? Next question from Mike Triplet.
Hey, Mario, I think Vegas is just Jacobs just had a big game today.
But you guys kept that streak alive with no 100 yard rusher.
How much do you think your run defense has been A underrated part of your success in the two years? Two plus years you've been here.
Now I don't know if it's, uh, underrated.
It's important to us.
That's that's That's one of our main goals when line of scrimmage and that's in the run game in the passing game.
And so, um, it's important Thio make teams one dimensional.
Um, just in general, good defense.
You have to have great run defense.
And you know what? Our defense line it just makes it makes the work for linebackers very easy.
And then we got that safety nipple toe who love to hit.
And so, um, it's important way.
Take pride and it's a lot of work in preparation.
Okay, last question for maybe just Yeah, I know we talked about at length the other day, but you'll finally got to get out there and where they say her name, shirts and have the helmet details and continue that conversation.
What did it feel like for you all to put it out there in the world? Uh, with everything that you all are doing? Look, it's it's it's important to it, uh, even even though way get to play this great game.
Um, we're not We're not gonna you know, stop talking about these issues and stop using our platform to bring awareness to these issues and using our resources to bring change in our communities.
Um, you know, I think at the end of the day, um, when you hear people say it was never about the flag, E you know, it was never about the flag.
For the people who had a problem with people speaking out about the issue, the people weren't mad because players were speaking out on issue.
People were mad because players will speak.
In general, I'm doing something doing the right thing.
You have people, you know.
You have players to community and people boo.
So people it has never been about anything other than, you know, wanting players to stay in a place and not wanting to speak on the issues of the black community.
But, you know, I'm just proud of so many players across all leagues Uh W NBA, NBA, MLB, NFL, taking a stance and using their platforms to bring change this force in the world conversation.
What's in our country? Have a conversation that we never had.
It has been had in schools, has been had in churches, has been had on every news station.
And it's not gonna go away until, uh, until we fix these issues and maybe eventually we could get past races, start talking about something else, maybe food or something.
Okay, we're all set.
Thank you Tomorrow. Thank you. Blessed.
Thank you tomorrow.
