I didn't really mean it like that.
But a lot of people have criticized that as a bad decision.
But essentially, Bill Belichick did not want to give the ball back to Peyton Manning.
I mean, that's basic respect, what he's able to do and that offense and the opportunities that they're going to be able to take advantage of. You know, candidate.
He made them pay for 91 yard touchdown drive in the second.
It ran nearly five minutes off the clock in the third quarter, which, with time that, you know there was still a chance for the Texans to make this a competitive game.
At that point, Um, if you hold onto the ball, you convert that you're able to keep the ball.
Who knows if you're able to move it, maybe get a little, you know, momentum and put the Chiefs back on their heels a little bit.
But that killer instinct that desire to be a little bit too conservative in these situations is really hurting the Houston Texans, and it really hurt them last night.
Okay? It comes from the top.
You know it, Zillow.
So But, hey, I'm not going to spend too much time criticizing him.
Um, if you were watching on sportscasting, you have a hop over to full press radio.
We got the we got the stream back up.
There was a little issue.
So Well, Mike was talking.
I was able to fix that.
But if you want to chime in, if you wanna let us know because we're gonna actually give our predictions, we each want to know.
Start to the season, Mike. We both pick the Chiefs yesterday.
So, um, but we're gonna give our predictions for the rest of the week because, hey, that's where we are.
Were we got football again, and I again, I'm I feel like I'm very ill prepared because I'm just trying to get I miss my pre season.
Let's just put it that way.
We missed our preseason getting used to all this.
So, uh, so we're going to give our picks.
But if you want to try bin with anything, uh, any thoughts, any predictions of your own? Just regard, you know, just anything.
Uh, give us a text or call 626310 Triple 82 We got the phone lines open So definitely check that out.
Or if you hot back into the SportsCastr chat room. Yep.
It looks like we're back.
You could send a message there and let us know what you think.
So, um, so, yeah, a lot of action coming up, Mike.
Um, I'm excited, because obviously, this is something we've talked about well for months since March.
And then, obviously, with with Cam Newton, who I'm gonna bring up in a minute.
It's been since, you know, August or Jill. End of July.
We got two debuts coming up, both of which, obviously, we we hold near and dear to us, one being the Patriots coming out, and you look patriots under Cam Newton.
I think there's a lot of excitement there, as it should be, Uh, certainly on uncer*****y.
We don't know what we're going to get were we're still kind of, you know, waiting to get that first taste and kind of see where we're at.
But, um yeah, Kyle, that's right.
I was surprised that it took him that long to mention back to back titles.
Um, you know, on the chief's game last night, just a just a point.
You made in the SportsCastr chat room, but, uh, Tom Brady debuting with the Bucks.
Obviously Cam Newton debut ing with the Patriots.
First Tampa goes thio New Orleans They're gonna be without Mike Evans, which, you know, this is something that if you were paying attention to the injury report the last few days, you kind of saw it coming.
Um, he missed the last three games last year with a with a hamstring injury.
It seems Thio be an issue early on this season and he will likely probably not play.
It's not official, but he probably won't play.
A Z hasn't practiced the last few days on Sunday.
So right off the bat, Brady will be missing one of his best receivers.
But don't worry, this isn't the 2019 Patriots.
That means he has about 16 other great targets Thio choose from, um, in his debut.
So that's gonna be fun.
I'm looking forward to that.
I'm not gonna give you the score yet, but I'm thinking I'm thinking the bucks might win.
Yeah, you know what? I'm tempted to go that way myself, and I guess we'll find out, you know, in a little while But no, I I know I will say that I'm not.
I will teach that much, folks.
Yeah, I do like the bucks in this game.
Look, I'm Tom Brady is someone that Ian and I have had the pleasure of covering for the past few years Up here in New England, we've been a fan of his pretty much all of our adult lives.
And this is not a guy that you want to add extra motivation to and give, you know, a little bit Mawr, you know, how shall we say add to the chip on his shoulder anymore than it already has on a lot of ways.
I think you know, Brady is going to be playing with a fire that we haven't seen before.
I think he's rejuvenated.
I think he's eager to endear himself to his new surroundings, and that is a dangerous thing.
That is a dangerous thing for any team.
I've seen him do it.
I've seen him do it time and time again.
And until he proves he can't do it anymore, I'm not betting against number 12 regardless of what uniformed he's wearing.
So, uh, yeah, I like the bucks in this.
I think that they'll I do expect them Thio, you know, spread the offense out.
I think you're going to see Tom be very eager to show off that arm and show, You know, people that he's not falling off a cliff, that he doesn't have noodle arm And all these ridiculous, asinine predictions that, you see, uh, you know people.
So that way they could get there.
Um, so, you know, I think it's, ah, it will be an interesting matchup, but I do.
I think this will be a high scoring affair as well, because thes air to good defense is, But they're facing two great offenses, and I think that's going really, um, you know, I think that's gonna really set the tone for the game.
25 this is gonna be a fun one.
Yeah, and obviously we We haven't seen Brady in this offense, but I think based on the years and years and years and evidence of him just being great, I think I think it's safe to assume that anything short, anything outside of just normal rust that any team goes through, there's not gonna be much of ah, adjustment period in terms of like, Oh, my God, are they going to get it together? This is you know what I mean.
That's that's not what we're looking at with them.
So I'm looking forward to that.
Seattle Atlanta should be fun.
Um, you know, I'd like to see that the C I always like watching the Seahawks and Ron Russell Wilson.
You know, we have the Jets and the Buffalo Bills.
Big time matchup of two Wanna be a F C East champions, but, uh, fortunately to be the man you have to beat the man and the man right now is going to be taking on the Dolphins on.
And we mentioned this before.
Obviously, Brady's gone.
Cam Newton's in.
The Patriots were one of the teams that really got limited.
Ah, are handicapped by theocracy.
Ah, lot of big names for them.
Um, obviously, this is a team that knows how to adjust to to situation, cir***stances.
This is just another example of that, And and look for Patriots fans, this should be one of the most intriguing off seasons.
And I know I understand.
Yes, you know there's there's off seasons going into it where you expect them to go undefeated or you bring in thes high powered free agents.
And this that and the other, uh, this is a different type of anticipation, because for years you've understood what you were going through season by season, you knew what it waas.
And in a way, if the definition of bland is repetitive, well, guess what.
The Patriots were pretty bland if if that's the case, because they continuously and they constantly got to the Super Bowl and and competed for Super Bowl doing the same thing over and over again.
And that was running an offense to Tom Brady, Tom Brady being great and Bill Belichick building a team that just knew how to capitalize on situations and and live the next man up mantra.
So, um, so in that case, yes, the Patriots were very bland, uh, and very boring, I guess.
Doing the same thing over and over again.
Are we excited and hopeful that they make it to Super Bowl this year? Of course, but it's a different type of field because you have a different quarterback.
You have a different, uh, outlook for the future.
Yeah, And Kyle's right. Yeah.
Cam Newton is a is a high powered free agent signing.
I mean, we heard it when it happened.
There's never been a team that's replaced a former M V P at quarterback with another former M V.
P, and that that doesn't mean that Cam Newton is gonna be 2015 Cam Newton.
But, I mean, maybe again, it could be the hype.
It could be the excitement, you know, building up for this weekend.
But the more and more and we talked about this the other day, the more and more I watch him, the more I I listen and hear his teammates respond to him.
I feel like this is gonna mess really well and what that means at the end.
I'm not sure, but I wouldn't necessarily, uh, put the Patriots at the bottom of the division division just yet.
They might have something to say, and it might have a chance.
Thio win another division title.
Yeah, without question, I mean came in saying all the right things in the press conferences I sat in on yesterday's and this has been, you know, very, very good for for Patriots fans and media alike to be able to get a chance to see his personality gets to know him.
Hey, sounds very humble, very contrite, very appreciative to be in New England, and it sounds like he's having a great time.
But where he's endearing himself to his teammates, is on the field.
Can't has an infectious type of wrong choice of words There, folks.
I know Pandemic.
Hey, does he has.
He has a camaraderie about him or a that really permeates what he does on the field.
It's just an energy that he brings.
And because of that, players were playing at a high level.
They want to play at a high level for can.
He commands that type of respect from him.
Tom did as well, but Tom doesn't in a different way.
It's a little bit of a different, you know, motivational factor.
I say that not because I think that cams is any better or Tom's is any better, but it's a different type, and I think a lot of people believed they were going to lose that when they lost Tom Brady.
But the Patriots did, you know, recapture that somehow, and he's earning the respect of a Matthew Slater there, playing alongside him and realizing what camp can bring to the table.
He's looked solid in practice.
I think that's important to know it's not just about the energy, it's about what he could do on the field.
He's looked solid in practice.
He's able to roll out.
We've seen him be able to facilitate the running game by being able to use the passing game as a threat.
I don't think Cam gets enough credit for being a depth passer that he is.
This guy can gun it down the field folks, he's not just a one dimensional Extend plays with his legs extension of the running back.
He can throw the ball and he can throw it very effectively, and I think you're going to see Cam do that in a lot of ways.
I think you may see him utilize short passes very similar to what we saw with Mahomes last night.
This is gonna be a very vanilla type offense for so many people in the league this year.
That's why I like Tom Brady to put up a lot of points this week because Tom is a little bit ahead of the curve.
He's, as I've said in the past, been in the puppet show.
He's seen the strings.
There's nothing that you're going to throw it Tom Brady that he hasn't seen before.
A lot of that is true of Cam Newton, but at the same time he's still learning new receivers.
He's still learning a new playbook, whereas I think that learning curve for Brady having a new playbook, a new, um, you know, set of receivers and things of that nature is a little bit mawr, you know, a little bit less, I should say, pronounced, because of the fact that he has a little bit more experience in this area.
But I think you're going to see Cam utilize short passes that opens up play action.
And I think in a lot of ways that's gonna open up the running game and maybe even catching out of the backfield.
I look for a big game from James White Saturday.
I think this is my fantasy team, the way that yeah, absolutely.
And the way that this, you know offenses is structured the way the Dolphins defense is structured.
Things has got sweet feats name written all over it.
So that's the name toe watch.
If you're not a Patriots fan, folks, and you have, ah, casual eye on this cane.
My advice is to remember the name of James Weeks.
I think you're gonna be hearing it a lot. Yeah.
No. And, look, I mean, that's just one of many.
I mean, I don't know if we understand what we're in for this Sunday.
I mean, we're feeling it like yesterday.
It didn't quite feel like that.
You know that the kickoff, we talked about it, you know, lack of preseason, Just just everything that's going on.
It just it felt different.
But as soon as we sat down Sorry, watching football, you like? Okay, this is football again.
You know, like, you know, despite the fact that the, you know, Chief Stadium reminded you of the Bud Dogs stadium before Bobby Boucher made them big.
Um, it was still football, and, uh, it felt good to watch.
And I think on Sunday we're going to really, really get to see that and then look outside of we mentioned the Patriots, we mentioned the bucks, obviously, to the two of the obviously for the fans, but even more of a national thing.
I mean, there's gonna be a lot of eyes on both those teams because there's a lot of intrigue with that.
But Philip Rivers down in Indianapolis, I'm excited to see that because we talked about it a little bit yesterday.
Like, who is he gonna be like? Is he going to be the guy last year that looked like he really actually did fall off the cliff? Or is he going to get healthier and and look more like the guy from 2018? You know, it's who knows.
I mean, he's at the point in his his career to where you know, unlike Brady and I say this with Brady that you should just throw the whole age factor out the window because at this point, I don't think it's, uh if it's had an impact.
It's been so minimal that it shouldn't even be the first.
You know, go to button that people pressed when people talk about it, but we're not passed that with Philip Rivers yet.
We're not sure, so there's a lot of intrigue and if he's good, if he's healthy, he's like you, said yesterday.
He's got a really good team around him.
Uh, that that I'll be excited to see how he does.
So Indy and Jacksonville.
So they get a nice soft landing for his debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Who? Um, as far as I know Onley have Gardner Minshew on their roster, I don't know who else on their roster at this point.
So, um, yeah, so anyways, that's that's That's something I'm excited for.
Um, obviously already mentioned.
Miami, New England, Minnesota, Green Bay.
That's That's obviously a battle they have seen North.
And oh, Kyle, it's gonna be keeping a very sharp I I'm going to steal that from like because he hasn't said it yet.
Very sharp eye on that game, for sure.
So what are you looking forward to? What other games are you looking forward to? Mike? Honestly, I'm actually looking forward to the late game on Monday night.
The Titans in the Broncos and a lot of people may roll their eyes at that, but look, these air two teams that I think have a chance to really make some noise in the A.
C very quietly now, a lot of people say Well, how come Tennessee make noise quietly? They were in the A F C championship game last year.
Well, the addition of Jadeveon Clowney Um, the second year slump that a lot of people believe Tennessee is going to suffer simply because they're not believers in Ryan Tannehill.
I think a lot of people are in for a rude awakening.
I think this team is legit.
I think my Grable has built a continue to see that the Broncos were a team that I considered a sleeper in the A F C.
Not a team that's going toe win the division, not a team that's probably gonna win the conference.
But they're gonna win more games than people believe.
And they're building something really nice in Denver.
I'm really liking the way this team is shaping up for years to come.
But at this point, you've got to give Drew lock his chance to, you know, mold this team in his image.
The loss of von Miller is certainly going to be difficult for the Broncos toe overcome and we've already heard a lot about bringing in veterans and maybe having guys come in, you know, Thio add bodies at that level.
Are they going to promote from within and just go with what they got? But I think a lot of what this game is going to show is that Denver is deeper than anyone, anyone, person, anyone, man, even when it is a guy like Von Miller, that's not going to be there.
So if this game is close and they really are able to do it, um, I think that Tennessee is gonna have to ride Derrick Henry in order to be able to win this game.
But I like this one to be a lot closer than people are thinking.
I actually like the Broncos to pull an upset here, and, you know, we'll see what what happens.
I think they're gonna come out big.
But that's that's how much faith I have in in Denver.
But I think this is gonna be a good a very good game between two evenly matched teams.
Andi, I think this is gonna be a fun one toe watching.
They have toe wait all weekend and up late on Monday to be able to see it.
But this one has the stuff to go the distance.
So I'm looking forward to that game.
Yeah, I'll be I'll be definitely going going a little extra caffeine that day.
Um, those like those like games.
It's It's tough, man.
It z you know, I like I said I used to I used to make fun of not make fun of, but, you know, kind of knock on the folks.
Oh, you know, these games there So late now.
Now I'm one of them.
E I wanna be clear.
I'm not complaining that the games are too late.
I'm not one of those people that although they should be on early, I'm just saying No, I'm just gonna be tired.
For the sake of complaining.
I like to complain.
I mean, who doesn't? It's kind of a stress relief.
Um, So what do we at? We have 20 minutes left.
I'm starting to think you know what? Yeah, let's do this, Mike.
Because I think obviously this is the last show of the week.
We're gonna have Thio give our picks.
We're gonna do that, actually, like, right now and then at the end of it.
Are you ready to give your Super Bowl pick for the year? I know We didn't talk about this before, but I've been thinking about it. I don't know.
Are you Are you ready to to be put on the spot? You're ready.
Okay, we'll do that then.
So we're gonna go through and we're gonna pick our games for this week.
And then at the very end of the show, we will predict our Super Bowl participants and are Super Bowl winner.
And if we feel up to it, maybe we'll just throw in some extras.
Whatever we feel like predicting, we'll predict.
But that's what we were going to dio um So yeah.
Mike, you ready to do this? Ready to get back into the saddle again? Alright.
Well, your best better be good enough.
Let's just put it that way.
Um, remember, folks, we're going to keep track of this all all year to see who was the smarter one between the two of us or the less dumb one.
Because I have a feeling we might end up sub 500 throughout the entirety of this, But hey, like starting and Mike will become synonymous with Harry and Lloyd e guarantee you that.
Yes, that's right.
Uh, and we're We're too pathetic losers.
Anyway, so we're going to jump into it just like we did last year.
We would go game by game.
I'm kind of kicking myself because I had some good, uh, background music for this, but I forgot to load it.
So we're just gonna have to do without this time.
Well, we'll kick it into ah Fulgear next week when we give our picks.
But we're gonna go game by game.
We're going to give our score.
We're going to give any sort of nonsensical thoughts that we have about the game.
You know, we'll throw in there too, but yeah.
Let's, uh let's get this started.
So obviously we already saw Kansas City in Houston, so we can't predict that game.
We both picked them.
I think we're off by the score.
I had 28 21 you had What did you have? I forgot.
Close this one right on 30.
Dangerously cheesy. Perhaps.
Eso We're going to start off with Seattle missing.
I mean, Seattle might be the team that that's that's hit hurt most by all this because, I mean, if you talk to their fans, I mean, they're very important part of their winning that 12 fan, you know, they're not there.
So Hey, what's gonna happen? I kid, but we got Seattle heading to Atlanta.
Um, I think, personally, I think Atlanta is the third best team in the NFC South.
Uh, Cisco, But I like Seattle insists in this game.
I think, um, early on, I think that the offenses air going thio have a bit of an advantage.
And I think Russell Wilson just gonna get off to a strong start because, you know, you know who he is, my friend.
You know who he is.
And that's right, Mr Limited.
And, uh, and he won't be limited.
So I got Seattle 28 Atlanta 24.
Yeah, I I also have Ah, Seattle.
Winning this game is Well, I think that Russell Wilson comes out, sets the tone, and let's everyone know that he's still Russell Wilson.
And I think again, I think the offenses are going to have a big day, Huh? That's right.
And you know, I I would love Thio to say that I control both teams, but I'm gonna throw a little shade in Atlanta here.
I like to Seahawks 34 to 28 Atlanta Falcons in this game, 34 to 28. Okay.
All right, all right.
I like it. I like it. I like this shade.
We talk about it all the time.
Any time I see the combination of 28 and three in anything, it brings a smile to my face.
Um, even when my bank account says $2.
83 it still brings a smile to my face.
Uh, no, that's a kid.
Um, it's It's less than that anyways.
Cleveland, Baltimore, You know, here's the thing.
We obviously the Cleveland came in.
Last year's is like that.
You know, the big hype machine.
Baker, Mayfield, M v P.
That's kind of weighing down, But you had a pretty good matchup between I mean, I mean two teams that like whatever Cleveland was last year, there's still a lot of hype with them.
Show a lot of hope because there's a lot of talent and, um, Baltimore is coming off a pretty incredible regular season but a very disappointing postseason.
I've already talked about how I I'm intrigued to see what, um, Lamar Jackson is following up his ****.
Oh, my almost, I almost said Undisputed unanimous M v P.
I'm going a little wrestling mixed into my subconscious here, but I have Baltimore winning this game 24 to 21.
I have Baltimore winning this game as well.
I think it's gonna be closer than people think, though I think the Browns are looking to put the league on notice.
I think Kevin Stefanski comes in to provide some sort of structure on, and I think Cleveland is able.
Thio Keep this close.
Don't forget Nick Chubb had a very good game against these guys the last time they played Baker.
Mayfield, you know, played pretty well against the Ravens, so I think it's gonna be a closer game than people think.
I have the Ravens winning this 1 24 to 21 simply by a field goal.
I think there's gonna be a close game.
Yeah, and moving on.
We got the Buffalo Bills first.
The New York J E T E s Jets, Jets Jets, folks, I did not accidentally misspell that.
That was, you know, Come on.
We all remember that.
It was actually I kind of do that was at the draft, right? Is that when they misspelled jets or something like that? I all I know is that was it was on public tell that it was on TV.
It was nation on national television.
It was hilarious that they spelled jets because, well, how to use misspelled jets.
Well, you add an E at the after the tea and whatever.
Anyways, a successful as they were trying to spell the team, uh, they're gonna be equally as successful trying to beat the Buffalo Bills.
And by that, I mean, the Buffalo Bills are gonna win this game 17 to 3.
Uh, that's that's all I got bills.
They're just better.
Well, I'm giving.
I'm giving old Sam a little more credit than than you're willing to give them.
But I do like the bills in this game.
I think there are other defense is going to shine pretty good.
I think the Jets put up 10 but I think the bills end up putting up 21.
So I got the Bills.
Taking this 1 21 to 10 over the J E T s G E T s Jets, Jets, Jets.
The OSCE Vegas Raiders make their well debut as the Las Vegas Raiders, but not in Las Vegas.
They're gonna be in Carolina taking on the Teddy Bridgewater lead, Carolina Panthers.
And look, the Panthers were one of those very intriguing teams you can't really pinpoint.
Obviously new quarterback, new coach, A lot of new pieces, but very intriguing.
Um, I much, to the surprise of maybe many I don't even know it.
This might be an upset, but I'm not sure, because I think, Let's see, uh, it has Carolina favorite in this game, obviously.
Plus three, you know, being at home, You know, that's kind of your standard.
Uh, point spread there.
So but I'm gonna go with the Oakland Oakland Jesus Las Vegas Raiders.
Las Vegas Raiders 28 to 27 in a thrilling down to the wire game E like the Raiders.
And this one is Well, I mean, we're really we're kind of telling the company line.
I know, right? I was hoping in this game, first of all, because I just think that Teddy Bridgewater is gonna be able to score points on the Raiders defense.
But the Carolina Panthers defense really is going to let them down. They're still very young.
They're still learning a lot, and I think there's still going to really, really struggle.
So I like Bridgewater to be able to put up some points.
But I do like the Raiders to put up points as well.
I have them taking this 1 36 to 27 in Las Vegas, Raiders over the Carolina Panthers in a game that's going to see a lot of scoring, in my opinion, simply because I think the Raiders is gonna be a little bit slowed when it comes to the travel and things of that nature.
I think they're gonna come out slow and then put up some points.
But I think the Panthers can score on this defense as well, so we'll see. We'll see what happens.
Well, next, we got the Detroit Lions hosting a certain Midwestern city that starts with A C, ends with an O and has a hit cog in the middle and a pretty terrible quarterback to boot.
So, uh, in my opinion, I think Detroit, despite their issues and and the doubts we have about them, I think Detroit wins this one, I think Chicago, um I don't think it's gonna be long for Chicago to go to Nick Foles.
And and I don't necessarily think that's gonna be a better, uh, significantly better option.
But, um, it will be better in this case.
Detroit wins. I have them winning.
Winning 21 2. 20.
I have the lions in.
This is well, and the folks, we did not coordinate this book, you know, we coordinate nothing.
There are a lot of reasons to like the bears in this game.
They have a very good bears.
Without any question, Uh, they played traditional matchups.
Well, in the past, I mean, you know, look at what they've done to the Packers recently, You know, in in week one when it comes to divisional matchup.
Sorry, Kyle, I don't need to bring that up, but ah, lot of people would look at that and say, Well, the bears have a fighting chance.
But I don't know.
I really wanted to give Mitchell Robiskie the biggest chances that you could possibly imagine the last couple of seasons that ship has sailed.
In my opinion, I think Matthew Stafford comes out plays well.
I expect a big game from Kenny Golladay.
I think he's going to be one of those players that can penetrate this Bears defense, get loose and be able to put up some points.
So I like the Lions in this 1 27 to 20 over up there. Stopped.
There's no Yeah, and And look again, we did. We coordinated.
So this is just again sharing the same half brain.
So moving on, we already brought it up briefly, but Indianapolis heads to division rival Jacksonville, and it's Philip Rivers debut.
I think he's gonna have a pretty awesome debut.
I don't think it's going to necessarily be indicative of what the entire season is gonna be, especially since you don't get to play the Jacksonville Jaguars every week.
Unfortunately, but I do think India wins pretty big here, 28 to 10.
Yeah, I have India's well have India's well in almost the exact same score.
I have the Jaguars 24 to 10.
I just I mean, you wanna believe that Gardner Minshew is gonna be able to mount some sort of improbable Vic to re are improbable contention in this game for the Jacksonville Jaguars, where everyone's writing them off for almost a no in 16 season.
But I just don't see it happening.
I think Philip Rivers is coming in with the motivation.
I think he'll come in with a very good supporting cast.
Expect to see a lot of Marlon Mack in this game.
He can utilize the running game very well, can fill up.
I've seen him do it in Los Angeles with great runners like Melvin Gordon on.
Do you know there's an even going back as far back as LaDainian Tomlinson and guys that he can really utilize? Um, I like Philip in this offense, and I think the Colts defense, you know, holds Rayna's well.
So 24 to 10 Indianapolis over Jacksonville.
Next to we got the Minnesota Vikings hosting the Green Bay Packer.
Uh oh, man, I thought I should have just one way.
I thought I was going to screw it up, but I think I actually would have been a pretty good Midwestern accent.
But too late now.
Too late, Minnesota.
It'll free share fingers.
It'll free shear throws my way.
Had never resurrected No, no, no.
I I was thinking about that right before I started to introduce this game because we we saw depressing Lee played it during that Super Bowl and just didn't work out.
We should have displayed.
Should just played way.
Should just played Prince all week.
Should just one with that actually way would have probably got sued.
Now, now, now we're still novices, but yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mentally together, I've never I've never had that meet described as that mentally not together.
Anyways anyways, Minnesota, uh, there there and And this might upset Kyle or might not, Because, really, it's weak when it doesn't matter.
But I think Minnesota comes out on top on this one.
Yeah, I You know, we've talked about this with Kyle.
I don't think the Packers got worse in the off season.
I just don't think they got markedly better.
And I think the Vikings did get a little bit better on defense.
Now, what's gonna happen with Stefon Diggs gone? I don't know, but maybe it's part of my fantasy team, but I'm really hoping for a big outing from Adam feeling in this game, but I got the Vikings winning 23 to 20 on a last second field goal.
By the way, it's coming down to the wire.
We've we finally disagree.
Finally, we have, yes, by, But I like the Packers in this one, and I like them by by only a few.
I liked them by four.
I've got the Packers winning this 1 21 to 17.
Look, a lot of people are going to give the same narrative that you just gave about the Packers.
They really didn't get any better.
They didn't really get any worse.
They're gonna kind of tread water, and Minnesota is gonna come out and ride a pretty hot into the season last year, um, into early season success.
But the Packers are typically a team that opened pretty well, and I think what you're going to see this time around is a motivated Aaron Rodgers to prove that he's still the man in Green Bay.
That does count for something, folks.
It albeit it's gonna be against a very tough Vikings defense, so this game could go either way.
But ultimately, I think the Packers will end up coming out on top.
I look for, you know, some.
So maybe late late game, you know, magic from from Rogers to his new favorite target, Alan Lazard.
I think you're going to see that name light up the scoreboard a lot this year.
Those two guys work very well together last year.
I expect to see that again this year.
So I go with the Packers in this 1 21 17. Awesome.
And since we have Andy Reid type clock management here, we're gonna have to rapid fire through the rest of these because we are running out of time.
I mean, this is this is this is Andy Reid, Super Bowl 39 type clock management right now.
So, um, down by 10 and we're slowing things down.
So, uh, so next game, New England hosting Miami, uh, for for no other reason than maybe I'm in New England.
I got New England winning this 1 21 17.
I think Cam Newton has a pretty strong debut for the Patriots.
Yeah, I dio I agree with you as well.
I have the I have the patriots coming out on top of the Dolphins on this 1 24 to 21.
I think that this is gonna be a close one.
I think Fitzpatrick always plays well against the Patriots in Foxboro.
But Cam Newton is able to pull it out and the Patriots win by field.
Okay, that was far too long.
So we're gonna have to cut it down even more, Mike.
Next game. Philadelphia.
The Eagles playing the football team in Washington.
I got Philadelphia winning this 1.
Yeah, I got Philadelphia winning this 1.
The debut of Joe Burrow, first overall pick hosting the Los Angeles Chargers.
Um, actually, I actually like the Bengals in this game, so I'm gonna go 28 to 25.
I got the Bengals in this one as well.
1 10 over the charges.
All right, well, next up, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, the big game of the evening, Tampa Bay 35 to 31 e o.
Perfect Their radio.
San Francisco making their first game since the Super Bowl.
Um, I think excited.
See the cardinals? I think San Francisco comes out on top in this one.
Excuse me 28 to 10th a sneeze.
Uh, San Francisco defense shows off 24 to 17 over the Cardinals.
Alright, Dallas at the Rams.
The Rams still stink.
I like Dallas 28 to 14.
Yeah, I got I got Dallas in this one with 28 as well, 28 to 17 over the L A Rams. Alright.
Pittsburgh and the Giants.
The first of the Monday night games.
Well, we'll see Ben Roethlisberger making his triumphant return to the field.
I think Pittsburgh wins this 1 28 to 21.
Yeah, I think it's gonna be tough to put points up in this one.
For some reason, I got the Steelers winning 17 to 10 over the Giants.
Alright, we may differ in this one, but we'll see.
Tennessee, I think, gets the job done against Denver, although it's gonna be a lot harder than I think.
People expect Tennessee wins and a very tightly contested contest.
17 to 14 e Think the Broncos D is ready for Derrick Henry.
I think they hold court.
I like the Broncos in this 1 22 17 over the Tennessee Titans.
All right, Mike, You ready? you ready? Give your Super Bowl your A f C N f C and Super Bowl winner.
I am all right, Mike.
Who do you have coming out of the A F C Well, is the great Ric Flair says to be the man You gotta beat the man.
And as much as it pains me, folks, I just don't see anybody beating the man in the A f c this year.
So I do have Oh, you kind of gave it.
Kind of gave it away, but I was gonna say, Well, each give R a F c and then NFC and the wolf will kind of matched together give our picks. Okay.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
We'll do it real quick.
But I actually disagree with you.
I think the Ravens were gonna end up getting to Super Bowl.
I have a lot of faith in this.
Since the first time in a long time, I haven't picked the Patriots to go to Super Bowl, but, uh, in a way, um, I'll take the swing pick on this one because we'll shift it over to the NFC, and I think we're both gonna agree on this one.
I'm going with the odds.
And the odds say that every other year of Tom Brady's career, he reaches the Super Bowl and he didn't go to the Super Bowl last year.
So you know, what the odds telling me he's gonna lead the bucks to the Super Bowl.
And I'm speaking for you.
Correct, Mike, that you are also picking the bucks.
That is correct.
Call me a Tom Brady, uh, fanatic all you want.
Call me whatever it takes.
Yes, Kyle Jets, Panthers, Super Bowl.
You got it, Mike.
What your outcome? Are they gonna run it back? Until someone unseats Tom until someone can't do? Uh, then, uh, 12.
I agree with you.
