Why, hello? Everybody here on SportsCastr.
I'm Laurence Owen, and this is SportsCastr News.
Now, as many of you know, Jude Avian, Clowney is now a Tennessee titan.
And as news came out, he just signed this week and he's already penciled in as the starter, right? My goodness, he is pencilled in at the week outside linebacker for the Titans, taking over what once was Vic Beazley's slot so that weak outside linebacker is looking pretty impressive.
That linebacker spot is obviously in a 34 system.
The blitzing linebacker, which is what you expect when you have a Vic Beasley Injun Avian cloudy on that side.
That's pretty deep, because this gives Mike Grable's defense something they haven't had in a while in both these guys Beasley and clowning, they've got a lot of speed and bend at that outside blitzing position at that outside pass rusher.
That's something they haven't had a lot of right.
They are also generally known as a very, uh, very disciplined defence overall and Clowney.
It's dome for basically taking chances, trying to jump that snap count.
Now, if clown he's able to do that and be a little bit more um, what might Rabel wants? This could actually improve Jadeveon Clowney's career as a player.
You don't make him a little bit Yes, anticipate, but not jump until you specifically see what's going on.
I think Rabel could help him with that.
Being that, I mean, we're able was a linebacker as well once, right? He was that guy.
He understands You don't take off till that bullet snap.
Even though you're trying to anticipate it.
You need to make sure that bullets snap So you're not giving a free five yards, especially if you're, like, third and short or something.
You don't want to do that.
Jadeveon Clowney, Vic Beasley.
That's going to be a good combination.
I think Vic Beasley will have a very good career as a Titan because I think Rabel will actually help him out as well.
Um, but if you look at this deep, it's hold on.
Before I get into the actual defense of the Titans, I just want to say all you tighten stance need to think the NFL right? The NFL home office allowed you gave in Clowney to be with the Tennessee Titans because he was going to be a New Orleans Saints.
All right, the Saints and the Browns.
Last week, I had a deal in place.
The Browns would sign Jadeveon Clowney.
The Browns would then make it so that they would pay him the majority of his contract, then trade clowning with them, paying the majority of the contract to the Saints in the Saints.
I was going to send a player in a draft pick four. Clowning.
This deal was in place was going to happen.
And then the Saints asked the NFL, Can we do this in the NFL? Shot it down.
Even though this specifically trip, this specific type of trade has happened multiple times in the past.
Even with big names with the NFL, they still ask in. The NFL declined.
That's an interesting ah, interesting situation.
So the Titans need to thank the NFL for not allowing Jadeveon Clowney to go through the Saints.
I mean, could you imagine the States with Davian? Clowney? They're already a friend.
Super Bowl team already, you know, And they needed someone because they were going to need that pass rush against Tom Brady and the NFL shot it down.
Now there could be some You know, a little bit of people running around thinking, Well, that's the reason, you know they want Brady toe do well and win a Super Bowl with another team.
So they shot down the trade so that Jadeveon Clowney ended up on the Saints because that would just put that in jeopardy.
That whole situation.
I'm not saying that's what happened.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist.
I'm just saying, Those are the facts that happened and I'm reporting them to you.
This brought seven for the Titans is strong.
Last year, Geoffrey Simmons, as a rookie really came out, played very, very well, and I mean, my goodness.
He locked down his spot on the defensive end.
Congratulations to him.
The Kwan Jones that nose tackles been there for years and has solidified his position.
Question being Jack Crawford, another guy that, just like Vic Beasley, came from the Atlanta Falcons at that end because they needed somebody to replace General Casey.
And I don't think you can replace General Casey with Jack Crawford, but having Jadeveon Clowney on the other side could make this very interesting.
Clowney and Simmons together is going to be a very dangerous situation.
And then, of course, J.
On Brown with Shaun Evans, Harold Landry at linebacker, the other three linebackers.
Jan Brown with Shaun Evans.
Very underrated inside linebackers along with Harold Landry, I believe, will be stepping up and making his, UM, Sam linebacker position, that strong linebacker position, that position that is there to make sure that the run is held in place.
On the strong side, I think he could legitimately step up and have a much better career.
Uh, going forward.
I'm not overly excited about the cornerback position.
Yes, they still have Malcolm Butler.
Yes, they still have Kevin buyers.
Butler, I think, is a little overrated, but he's still good.
But Kevin Buyer? Definitely.
I think he's definitely a Top 10 free safety in the NFL.
I'm not big on Kenny Vaccaro and Adoree Jackson.
Come on, guys, you need upgrade.
Jonathan Joseph isn't that great as well.
They have Chris Jackson.
They have Chris Jackson, but I mean, he was 1/7 round pick this past year.
Don't expect him to step up and feel a spot, because, yes, Adoree could do decent at times.
But let's let's not make any kind of assumptions.
He's not Logan Ryan by any means, and that's who he's going to try to replace.
So that's going to be very difficult.
Um, they're gonna have to rely on the pass rush to make up for a weaker secondary.
With Logan Ryan no longer on that team.
I want to thank Dallas girl here for watching here on SportsCastr.
Appreciate you being here.
I think the Titans legitimately have a very good team.
Overall, there was a situation.
Obviously, they're like, Well, I mean, they haven't really lost a lot.
They lost a tackle, right? They lost their tackle there.
Right tackle Dennis Kelly is now going to replace him.
But you got to remember last year for the majority of the time that Ryan Tannehill was quarterbacking for the Tennessee Titans.
Adam Humphreys had a high ankle spring and missed the majority of that time.
He was there when he first started.
Then he contracted that high ankle sprain.
He wasn't there for the playoffs.
He wasn't there from the late games.
And yet, still, Ryan Tannehill did a very good job.
So you put Adam Humphreys healthy with a J.
Brown Cory Davis on the outside slot.
And then, of course, Joe New Smith.
It's gonna be a very impressive team.
So I think the Tennessee Titans, yes, they definitely improved.
They gotta think the NFL for improving that situation.
Um, but as a Colt, someone who follows the Indianapolis Colts Coltart afraid of Jadeveon Clowney, Um, our offensive line has really historically the Indianapolis Colts offensive line has historically held Jadeveon Clowney very well.
And being that he's known for jumping snaps and getting those offside encroachment calls, Andrew Luck was known for doing that.
Um, obviously Philip Rivers known for doing that, I don't know.
The Sean Watson eyes great at doing that and Gardner men's you now.
I'm not saying that it's going to make a big difference. Gardner meant.
You hasn't had enough experience to really use Cadence to try to get people to jump offsides.
So when it comes to him in the A f c South, their fight with the A F c South because that's that's the most important fight for the Titans.
That a f c South.
I don't that they're there to biggest threat, obviously, being the Texans and the Indianapolis Colts.
I don't think have injured avian clown.
He's gonna help a whole lot other than maybe against the run, because the Colts do run the ball very well.
And they have Jonathan Taylor, Marlon Mack behind that great offensive line.
And Clowney is a very solid edge player against the run, so that should help them out a little bit there.
The Sean Watson Clowney knows the Texans very well knows the Sean Watson very well, so this could legitimately help him versus the Texans help the Titans versus the Texans.
Overall, I believe that Clowney starting Week one and ain't gonna matter all that much, right? I mean, he's most likely going to be sending pressure anyhow early on.
So it doesn't matter that he hasn't really even had but a couple.
I don't even know if he's had practices yet because he's got to go through three days, so he hasn't even practiced yet.
He's got to go through three days of ah clean Coben screenings before he can even step foot on the practice field.
But that's okay because, I mean, he still needs to sit during that time.
He should have enough time to where I'm sure Rabel has had plenty of talks with him via zoom meetings and stuff.
Kind of go over your playbooks and game plans and things of that nature just to catch Clowney up really, really quick.
He got a $15 million deal, which is very impressive, considering I didn't think the clown is worth that much.
But on the Titans, with this kind of defense that he fits very well in, he could legitimately, I don't know, blow up this year in a way that would be my my assumption.
He he could legitimately blow up a little bit this year, being that he's on a very good Tennessee Titans front seven already, and that will only help him in his case for having a bigger contract next season, whether it's with the Titans or whether it's with another team.
But I'm interested to see what he could do.
Week one with only a couple games of practice.
