I'm Lord Tone, and this is SportsCastr news.
The Washington football team releasing Adrian Peterson.
What really this? Coming off the hills of the Darius Juice incident and that he's been released.
It may not even play football ever again.
Do toe, you know, domestic stuff going on.
And then you relief by four the most decorated running back and is able to and still proves that he can run the football.
Let's that's got me a little bit confused.
I mean, he's been the leading rusher for this team for two seasons, averaging 4.
3 yards a carry over the over his time with Washington football team, right? I mean, if he played 16 games last year, he might have broken 1000 yards.
He didn't break 1000 yards in 2018.
I mean, good Lord, he does a good job.
He's catching the football.
I think he's got about 37 catches over the last couple seasons with this team, but he's still I mean, yes, I understand.
He's old, I get it.
He's been there.
I mean, him and Frank Gore been in this league for a long time, but he's still producing Why let him go? My thought process.
Even if you don't want to use him as your feature back, he would be great to bring in as a power back, right? Or to teach the young guys.
Because, let's face it, the guys they have in the back behind him.
Okay, JD McKissic, It doesn't have a whole ton of experience.
I mean, he played a little bit with, Ah, Seattle kind of had a breakout season with Detroit, Really ran pretty good.
Ended up with, like over five yards a carry with Detroit.
But Antonio Gibson, who they'll probably use as their primary back, isn't even a running back.
He's a wide receiver, converted and he didn't even have that many touches in college at Memphis.
I think he had 40 some total carries as a running back and, like, I don't know, probably about that with, Ah, about that.
I believe with receiving the football.
I only had 30 some catching last year.
He's a third round pick.
He runs about a FINA feel, right? Ah, little good quickness, but I would I would not trust him between the numbers.
Now, if you go look at his highlights, you will see Oh, look at all these runs that he's breaking tackles.
But those were just really, really bad tackle attempts against really bad defense.
Not good competition.
Okay, I don't know.
It's going to continue on into the NFL, where the competition level is probably three steps higher than where he was playing at Memphis last season.
Right? And he didn't get that. Like I said, he didn't.
He hasn't gotten that many attempts in his career in his career.
Then they got Peyton Barber and Bryce Love sitting out the 3rd and 4th string, which I mean, I get it.
You don't have a whole lot of you don't you don't have a whole lot of experience on the team.
So grabbing Peyton Barber.
Ah, but my biggest question.
If you was gonna take Peyton Barber, why would you keep Peyton Barber? But not Adrian Peterson, who is a better running back? Adrian Peterson is a better running back than Peyton Barber.
I don't understand, but that's okay.
That's all right.
That's what that's what we're going to be looking at then. Fine.
You're looking at the money.
A Thank you for joining the stream here on SportsCastr.
You don't want Adrian Peterson.
I will guarantee Adrian Peterson will be picked up soon if he hasn't been picked up already.
Let me go look real quick on because, I mean, it could have.
It could have been already done by now.
No, no, he's just all it is that I see here is that he's been released.
Okay, so no news yet that he's went.
I'm sure a lot of teams out there are looking in the Peterson.
Yes, he's old, but he's smart.
He's like Frank Gore, right, and that aspect that he is smart.
He knows how to follow blocks.
He knows how to look for that little slim opening and hit it hard to get us much yardage as he possibly can.
Is it just a veteran, savvy running back and with Washington, he's proven in last two years he could stay healthy.
Why not multiple teams out there, I think, could benefit from having a guy like him, right? I think Jacksonville, who just lost Leonard Fournette, who's a very similar style running back now granted four Nets younger, but Adrian Peterson shows he has a longevity granted, he's older, but I think he would be able to bring a veteran presence to that running back room and teach these young guys something really, really awesome.
I'd like to see Adrian Peterson on New England.
We all know Adrian Peterson has a monster work ethic.
Could you imagine Cam Newton and Adrian Peterson together? Cam working the R p o after handing, you know, with Adrian Peterson behind him? That be scary.
I know he's old, but that don't mean that he can't still, you know.
I mean, he still affects games because of how savvy he is and how good of a running back he is.
All in all, there are other teams out there.
I think that could really benefit.
Having a guy like Peterson, I think the Detroit Lions, I think they could benefit.
They have a very young running back group.
Having ah guy like Peterson on there to share the carries would be, Ah, big help.
And you know, like I said, you know, having that kind of ah veteran leadership in a running back room would be great for a guy like Swift.
The Chicago Bears? Maybe.
I mean, let's face it.
David Montgomery isn't a superstar.
He's also hurt right now.
If I remember correctly, it be nice to have someone like Peterson, who, behind a not a really good old line, might be able to turn out a little bit. Mawr.
Then what you would expect now.
Are you going to get home run hits from Adrian Peterson? No, but you're gonna get guaranteed yardage, right? He's gonna know where and when they hit a hole and and bust out.
You know, plow through fall forward, get your 34 yard to carry almost every time you're guaranteed him to get at least four yards a carry for the season.
And that's better than what a lot of running backs in the NFL has garnered so far this season.
I think it be a an amazing move by a multiple football teams out there, multiple football Ting's.
I think the Texans could use an Adrian Peterson.
I get that they have David Johnson and Duke Johnson, but they aren't power backs that run it right up the middle and it will take it between the tackles and stuff.
And and, ah, where a defense down.
They're the kind of running backs that benefit from having a guy like that on the roster who can wear a defense down by running between the tackles.
So Peterson on the Texans would be a great spot in my opinion.
And he's not gonna cost a ton of money.
We're not talking about Adrian Peterson from five years ago.
That was on All Pro and still getting 17 1800 yards.
Yeah, it seems like it was a lot longer than that, doesn't it? But it wasn't 2015 2015 and he had over 1700 yards rushing and was an all Pro.
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

I appreciate that a lot.
He still got years in him.
Yeah, he didn't break 1000 York last year.
He had 900 yards rushing last year.
So what? He played 15 games average something like 4.
2 yards a carry, which is which is better than half the starting running backs in the NFL today? I would say put him on the Jets.
But Frank Gore is already there, you know? And that's what already a between the tackles, aging running back veteran, you know, kind of similar.
I wouldn't want to put a P and Gore on the same team, not not in a million years.
Um, if you need explosiveness to go with Adrian Peterson, we'll see some other teams.
Maybe that might be interested.
Ah, do we think that maybe maybe the Eagles? They have an explosive running back over there? They might be able to use a really good pounding between the tackles running back to help soften the defense up for that really quick running back.
Who who shifty and likes to catch the ball out of the backfield from Carson Wentz? That'd be interesting situation for the Philadelphia Eagles, would it not? I mean, Seattle's known four beast mode, tight running backs, and I say that on purpose, wouldn't it be great for them to have someone like that with Adrian Peterson.
I mean, they're known for picking up aging guys who could still pound the ball between the tackles.
And they're already picking up all kinds of guys.
They just got done trading.
Uh, they got done trading for that strong safety out of the jets.
They just signed.
Um, Josh? Oh, uh, Gordon.
Couldn't think of his name for a moment.
They just signed Josh Gordon, even though he isn't even reinstated.
They're still looking for that explosiveness on offense, so they're definitely not done with their team.
Maybe Adrian Peterson will be a fit there.
I mean, let's face it.
If Russell Wilson has to hand off Adrian Peterson once in a while, everybody have to be there to tackle him.
He's not a guy that, you know.
Just one guy's gonna tackle.
He's gonna run over you.
So, you know, defense is have to kind of swarm to tackle him.
And that being said that will help Russell Wilson open up the passing game, give him a little bit longer time toe pick apart the defense so he could be a good fit there.
I like Adrian Peterson.
Still, even at his age, I think he still has a lot to offer multiple football teams.
I'm I'm just sitting here thinking of different teams that would he would fit with. Right.
Um but, hey, I appreciate everybody here.
