I don't think you saw taking to a Game seven or your What's your initial reactions to Ah young upstart door who goes through 30? This one is a kind of carrying the offensive live in some ways for O. K. C.
But ah, this is tighter than I thought it was gonna be a Medicaid and literally came down to the last possession for O. K. C. And Houston.
Yeah, really weird game.
Honestly, like weird Siri's.
I didn't feel like either team deserved to advance in a lot of ways, and I just like the guy was one of those games where I'm like boy like this is definitely a Game seven.
Even like that jazz Nuggets game that was so low, scoring like that was there were moments where I was like, This is really enticing Watch like I'm doing this.
This was ugly, Like this was a really ugly game.
Um, you got guys turning it over.
There was like a play where they flopped upwards of like you have, like Chris Paul flopping and James Harden flopping and Aaron Gordon flopping.
It was it was just ridiculous.
At the very end.
I'm I mean, I don't even know if I'm happy That used in, advanced to feel offensive you hard and played horribly, just awful.
Um and I don't know, just weird.
That's kind of my conclusion on this.
Just a really weird Siri's.
I actually think that Houston stands a much better chance against the Lakers next round, which is kind of why I'm happy they advance.
This second round has been a little one sided so far.
I don't think that's too crazy to say at the moment.
Of course, a lot can change in these next couple of games, but ah, but right now I just want a good Siri's.
And I think you got the right team that yeah, you and I talked about yesterday.
Ah, looking the Nuggets and you Utah, and thinking about guys that are developing kind of advancing for for O. K. C.
But out Dampier like and Mitchell about guys that physically ready to to be in the n b A, and to playing some of these intense playoff basketball games feels like Alexander get a little bit more meat on the bones there.
That will help him.
And maybe it is like maybe door is suddenly a player for them in a different capacity, even beyond the defense, that he can give you all this.
You could develop.
That is also it's like It's nice, but I don't know if I would want to see a team like Okay, see in the next out against L. A.
Because I don't think they're ready to be there.
OK, I don't know if you are going to be there, either, in some ways, but this series also.
Regardless, I guess I know you're not a huge fan of Russell Westbrook, but him not being in the first handful of these games in this serious also impacts how this plays out.
I think, you know, for better or worse, in terms of style of play or whatever, I don't know if it's gets to Game seven.
If you have Westbrook healthy and playing from Game one, I think it probably gets wrapped up in six games for Houston and maybe sooner, depending on how some of those matchups go.
Um, did you that last sequence? I know Westbrook came out afterwards and was kind of, um, pumping up hardens defense a little bit.
Do you? Do you think.
I mean, like, what do you think there is something to the like that hardened can play sound defense.
And maybe this is true, like a lot of guys who are just more offensive focused.
And isn't it all frustrating that if you're capable of playing mawr intense defense, why don't you utilize it more frequently than maybe in a couple of key possessions? Um, yeah.
I mean, I think it's frustrating in a way, but, like also, I e don't know, he like the things that he's not great at are you are just kind of like awareness in general.
And he's really good in the Post.
I think that that stats been floated out there for the last couple of seasons.
Um, it was cool to kind of see him get the block because the Manu play a couple years ago when Manu blocked him for three and they ended up closing out that Siri's, that was that was cool that he got a moment kind of like that Teoh Bankoff.
Was that not? Was that a mid school? Ah, middle school dodgeball style when he just what he hopped out of the way of the bathroom door like it was such a Yeah, on the last.
I don't know what you're hearing.
I was a little confused by that.
That was another player at the end.
I was like, I don't know quite why he did that.
I mean, maybe Dort was falling out of bounds.
I have to watch again.
I didn't catch on the replace.
I don't have these only out of bounds or not.
If I had to think, I would say that he gets blocked.
That's the play.
And the idea is if I bank this thing off a hard and we can reset ourselves like that, yeah, yeah, and you know, and I get leave the works great.
But the fact that he's throwing it like he's not throwing it directly out of bounds, trying to go up the hard it's almost like he's, you know, parallel with the court.
So North East Line, you're trying to throw it off somebody.
There's nowhere to go. So it was.
It was an odd one, and again, that's like that growth, that kind of growing pains, right? Yeah, I've never seen an MBA player do that in that position.
I think that's what I was really surprised, like to throw the ball.
The opposite direction of the basket was like, really bizarre, like what's going on? But overall, I mean just kind of bizarre.
Robert like, it's like you have some other guys, even for Houston doing a little bit more of the heavy lifting for them on that side of the 21 points overall in 16 11 from deep for him.
But, um and then even the previous sequence, because they foul while the balls out of bounds.
And that technical free throw that Gallinari Mrs like that also has to play a huge factor, too.
Because then you're saying, as opposed to you could get a nice to point mid range jumper toe win the game as opposed to where they were.
I think you're, you know, have a hard enough time.
Inbounding is let alone trying to get off a quality shot.
It was on my central.
Weird is what we saw them inbounded to like Their final play was an absolute mess.
They ran this play and like I think it was for Gallinari think.
But yeah, I was like it's just like I have left.
There's no way that it's like the catch and, you know, dish off.
And there's no way he's pulling up from just inside the Arctic like it's alive.
That's why What is the advantage of this? Like, I don't know, like, try to put somebody.
Wouldn't you want to put in like, five guys that can score on their own like you just needed you like all you need is a basket? Like Why? Why is Steven Adams it here? I don't know.
They also stuck with Stephen out of the way too much down the stretch.
I didn't think it was good that game. He wasn't good.
I'm like I'm a little unsure what his future looks like, but overall, Really weird.
I mean, I thought, you know, the Rockets were all over the place, and they kind of don't really have a backup plan.
If heart isn't playing well, other than I guess, I guess Get Westbrook going and just shoot for He's, uh but I kind of think the Antoni out Coach Donovan, Um, just in terms of going at Steven Adams and and exposing that weakness, is it that imbalance of being out coached or ag maybe a combination of this of personnel and you have available before you, although I because you're writing about Steve Adams being there too long.
But how many options is Donovan have in terms of get creating better matchups against Houston? Well, quietly, The final minute of the game was not a good Chris Paul stretch like, and I didn't.
Nobody wants to say that because like it's Chris Paul and he's having like, this great comeback season and, like, I certainly didn't want to be the guy.
Ah, you know, throwing that out there.
But it, like quietly, was not like the greatest of Chris playoff.
We get out of here on this because he he had odd odd, you know, very, very quiet first half and then really picked up in the second half of these games.
On the one hand, you go, boy, look how he's managing things and then turning on when he needs to.
But I couldn't I can't 100% tell if that's him turning on with needs to or just like it wasn't going so well.
And then he found his rhythm and with flip flops, and it's down the stretch of the game.
It doesn't look nearly as positive is when he has a quiet first half for a quiet quarter.
Here, there, I think it was.
I think that was intentional.
Like, you see the shots that that transition threes, that he was hitting those kind, always like he always hits those, and I look at him kind of like, all right about that.
You have a little running you right now.
That's kind of what this is telling everybody on the court at the moment.
So that's usually how I look at those shots.
And I just ashamed.
Like I I really I was kind of hoping for the Dort final shot or the Chris Paul final shot or just something like that.
No, we're going to see that L a Houston matchup.
As this Siri's plays out, regardless of the outcome, when we see the contrast between guards on Houston versus what l.
A. Has or does not have at the position.
We talked about Paul before, about some places he may go.
If he doesn't go back to O.
K. C. They don't keep in there.
Isn't it just the obvious thing that L a goes ahead and spends the big bucks to take that off the books for O. K.
C. And puts him at the point guard next season.
I'm leaving it there.
I'm just know what I mean? I'm throwing that out there.
I'm gonna say that for and I'm not the first say that I've seen other people say that, Uh, quite a bit.
I know, right? The mail wagon participating. Clear.
We're gonna get We're going to get a bidding war for a 36 year old making $44 million is actually gonna call something to get it out.
Everyone thought it will be okay.
See, you be dumping people.
You're giving it away.
You're not gonna get anything back in return.
You have to get off the books now, little a little bit of but it's a little bit of tracking their ridiculous.
And it's like a bunch of I mean, I could like teams that need a closer Ah, that's about as good as you're gonna get.
And like all of a sudden, he just made himself this really intriguing asset.
He's like 30 36 under 6 ft tall point guard or about 6 ft tall doesn't matter.
He's a I don't know. It's it's crazy.
I'm ready for it. This summer is gonna be crazy.
Teoh won't know it will be the fall.
The fall is going tol whatever I to this I can't even above Yeah, it's like October when this is gonna be the strangest Halloween and an MBA history.
Yeah, I think the bucks changed their coach.
I think they get they try to pursue a Chris Paul, I think great, Like absolute madness is gonna come out of there.
You see that rumor? And this doesn't have anything to do with, uh, either of these teams at all.
But that Johannes is there's rumors about, um, Toronto in Miami.
Yeah, they're in.
Stir that pot. Miami, too. Miami.
There was that rumor about going back about, like, one and or both older depot and yon ists down to Miami.
You strip off whatever parts you need to have Butler. They're not a bio.
And you have, you know, a hero there, and that's it.
And I'm like and watch out.
It's South Beach and it's total mayhem going into next season.
But Toronto is another great example, right? Like if you could move off some of these aging pieces or, you know, I know everyone's been complimentary of Ibaka, but But he's not a needle mover for you.
And anyone that thinks like anyone is looking at were Nets.
Guys like people like Ali Bacher would be a great no, he's not.
That's not the answer that I don't know the answer to his problems slow in the places that really slow, both of those things.
You just drop the honest in there with with the guards on that team and you other playmakers around him.
God, it's gotta just alright, it's pretty crazy.
It's gonna be a lot of and hopefully something's shake up, because that's always my favorite is just when you see guys going different places and Communist mayhem around the MBA, there's the we got the Denver L. A Clippers, Siri's.
That will start tonight.
We've also got Ah, the Boston Toronto Siri, Shockingly Tuo Boston is out there.
That game pops off, too, so
