kind of, you know, And with that welcome you back into sports Caster news talking all things MBA had Amar Brecht Matt Brooks ahead of Game seven, Man, He's the kind of things we want, right.
Western Conference doing us some favors here between the Jazz Nuggets tonight and then Ah, Thunder and the Rockets will get into it to eventually.
Ah, bottom of the hour, man, This is the the improbable.
The ones will be the fourth time that it's either come down 31 like this.
What's Ah, what's the hot take? What? Where you looking in? This one is It's just the inevitable for the Nuggets or to the Jazz.
I mean something.
They've been asleep in it. Just been getting out cool down the stretch.
I think the jazz win.
Honestly, I really thank you.
I think that we're going nuggets.
I could I didn't want I didn't want to gild it, you know, and safe before we got on.
What? Ah, what are you hanging your hat on for the jazz then? You know, God, it's so hard because they have Gary Harris back and I just think like Malone was really bad for the first four games, but he liked finally got to the adjustments that he really needed to do, which is mostly just like rotations.
Things like, Hey, maybe don't play Michael Porter Jr at all and just and just, you know, shape these rotations up.
Get Paul Millsap out of there.
He clearly can't play in this Siri's.
I'm actually really having a lot of second thoughts about Paul Millsap in general right now.
It was a big, big name for the Nets world of things, but man did.
I'm very excited for this. Siri's.
I, uh we just finished a really crucial Celtics Raptors game.
I really, really wish the Raptors and one that I'm like because we didn't get a great first time.
Like I wouldn't say out of 10.
It was probably a three or four songs like Man, this is the Siri's I've been waiting for.
Can it not be a tuo deficit? So these games that are a Game seven I'm hanging on to, um, and this one especially like I for as far as that rockets.
Okay, see, Syriza's gone.
It's been kind of maddening from an execution perspective, like that, like for somebody who kind of like this is what I'm not saying I'm like a coach or anything like that.
But I spent a lot of time looking at film like I look at Dad turnovers and stuff and had shots, and I write about that.
So that serious has been, like kind of not a disaster, because Chris Paul was great.
But it certainly hasn't been aesthetically like perfect.
This Siri's has just been, like top notch, like these guys are going off.
I just come down to look, man.
Donovan Mitchell's gotten every single shot.
He's wanted this entire Siri's.
They put Nicole Yokich in two man action every time.
And you know what? I'm gonna be honest.
I don't think my changes, I just don't.
And I think the spotlight is gonna be really bright for Jamal Murray, who's carried them.
So that's where I'm at right now.
Yeah, I think about Murray and Mitchell just having a blast going toe to toe down, structured these games they just seen.
And hey, listen, last eight minutes, so listen, why don't we take every shot for teams and just drink some insane threes? But what I will say is, I think that and maybe this also goes to what I'm hoping for in terms of future matchups and the plants as well.
But I'm what I'm hanging my hat on is actually used in the Joker.
I'm I'm thinking, Ah, 30 plus point performance from him tonight actually ends up being the real difference between between the between these two teams.
Because offensively he can do that.
You know, Mayor, the other big, you know, whatever.
In this matchup, I just don't see him being able to maybe make his impact on the offensive and the way you need to.
So if I assume that Murray and Mitchell are doing their thing and going for 40 plus, maybe going both going for 50 Bonds, I want to say the Joker, the guy that coming to the SYRIZA after for the Nuggets, you would have said He's your superstar.
He's the guy that moves the needle for you.
He's been able to take a back seat, and now maybe it's just an opportunity for him.
Teoh remind anybody, but you don't just say Hey, listen, when everything goes down to the wire and it's all equal, I'll hit a couple of the big shots that we need us to, even though he looks like a dog that's just panting.
And in the summer heat.
Hey, he has a very concerning physical presence on the floor, but I'm hoping that maybe he moves the needle for it on that.
The line on this over under, we'll throw out some of the you know, the big bullet points over Under's 20 17.
5, according to I Think Bette MGM.
So that number feels, I think, feels loaded.
May I think I would take the over in that regard? Do you think who has the bigger performance? If you're saying that the Jazz went in, Do you think it's Jazz win solely on well, He has the bigger scoring performance.
Then, then does Jamal Murray.
He has the bigger night.
Or is it just an ac***ulation of that has to be for you, right? If Michelle doesn't have the bigger game in the bigger scoring performance, I don't see how you can pick the Jazz to be winning it.
I'll I'll say I think whoever of the two centers plays better.
I think that's who wins.
That's gonna be.
That's That's what it comes out into me.
Um, I don't know.
I'm like buying the Jamal Murray thing.
Is that how you buy stock? No.
You don't buy it when it's high.
That's the worst radio doing.
I'm buying it right now.
Just does the staff going up on the screen right now.
142 points in the last three games Is that what's moving? The hot take take from from Matt Brooks tennis right now? Ah, way I got 10.
It's going on in the other room, which is hilarious.
I heard that in the background we started.
I'm like, I'm actually Matt Brooks. Tennis for once.
So, honestly, like I I don't know something about watching Murray.
I was like, Do this is just advanced shot making.
And it was like the stuff he was doing at the rim.
And I think Game four, where he had that, like, spin around layup.
I was just like, Okay, this is this is a little uncharted waters for me.
Like I feel like he settles a little bit.
So to see him take those shots at the rim and really pressure it that way.
I just I just didn't know he had that in him, and it makes him a three level guy, and he's always been sick in the mid range.
So if he's making those shots, I think the threes will go down.
I'm ready to buy feel good bye bye.
That three only thing that this is such a weird way to frame it because obviously his shooting percentage has gone down.
But when you start about 70 it's hard to, you know, really live to that standard.
If I'm gonna hedge my bets on saying I think the Nuggets, I think Murray, I think the Joker, then I go.
But reality does is slowly, continually setting in just in terms of percentages that is putting up.
So that's maybe why I'm also saying Joker, you need to step up here because there's a chance that even adjust a 35 point performance from drivel.
Murray well will pale in comparison to what he's been doing. So I am.
I am wondering about the well balanced there.
Let's get let's get out of here on this.
What is the final score then way down to the warrior.
We last second shots here is Are we Ari? Ari Siachen just stepping out of bounds and ruining what could have been an interesting this great basis.
What a what a terrible finish by him.
He's getting bro, Sted on Twitter right now, which I feel so bad for.
Nothing says Playoffs.
Like getting just cooked on Twitter like a bad two minute stretch.
I don't know a God.
That's a good question. The score.
What if they where have they been scoring at in these previous games? I should I should have that information on me.
So let's you know what? All this rubbish ourselves number? Yeah, Let's see here.
So they've been kind of in the one seventeens one.
All right, so we'll say Probably like one.
I think it's gonna be close.
I think it's gonna be like 1 14 to 109 or something like that.
Like I think it will be close.
Okay, like the jazz a little bit, I don't know, but this is a good Siri's.
Like neither these teams defend that Hollande.
It's just they're kind of scoring.
You know what I'll live on? I'll live on.
I think I'll go 1 14.
What are nine? But I'll tell you right now, if you go back and look at the score lines of this, that prediction would suggest the Nuggets win because 1 19 1071 17 to 107 losses for the Nuggets.
1 29 1 27 1 24 to 87.
I forgot the snowman.
Well, so, uh, e get this wrong has who can you tell? The deep dive that we did before we get his predictions.
But I like I like the stat line, man.
All I hope just give me Just give me three minutes at the end of the game were Jamal and Mitchell like, I just just have it be there, have it be there where these guys were just jacking these things up.
And unlike that finish to the Celtics Raptors game, where it felt like we felt like I was just like, Yeah, Miss Fan Sleet, you admit miss it for the corner you get Clank it off the side like none of those shots look pretty or smooth in the stroke.
Jamal Murray has been absolutely phenomenal and I wasn't to.
The physical size of both of these guys, I think is is a big difference between them and some of like, the leaner young point guard you talk about, like, three young.
Like John Durant.
Like you want to talk about.
Like, you know, you want to take over and dominate games.
You want to the next step in your career for these guys like and they're still and there still so young.
But like, you're physically big enough already to be able to do those things and sustain it over 48 minutes, as opposed to when you said training is a great sample like great.
And I love your deep shot.
But guess what? You're asking to get your butt check If the referees want to let things get more physical in the playoffs, which I can't lie.
I had that thought that the that That's a great, great point.
I'm happy you brought that out.
I don't think we're gonna hurt about to get going cause I could go on for another 20 minutes.
Yeah, whatever game.
Actually, we know Go Bear is gonna win the tip off piste.
Okay, so let me live on this.
I was watching that game.
The ridiculous like these guys weren't missing game and I can't lie.
I had that thought in the back of my head.
I was like, Are these the two best guards of the next generation with Devin Booker? And they're like, Is this what we're looking at? I don't count Luca's a guard because he said LeBron wing, he's whatever wherever, Lucas that the different breed of of player wing point guard, all of the positions in one.
I was watching that game.
I was like, I gotta be honest.
Like both these guys can handle a little bit of physicality and create their own shot and just I don't know, they're just so polished.
I I don't I really If you can't tell, the Siri's makes me so excited cause it just you see the future of lead in this You really dio when it was low key, man like I didn't I did not come into the playoffs.
Its first round matchups, right? You're never necessarily in tights by any of them.
Yeah, I was just kind of like Okay, tell me who Tell me who comes out of it. Whatever.
Look at the matchup and I like I just talked Teoh.
Why does that go? You know, I've been really engaged on this series and it's easy to remember everything is happening right about why wouldn't I wasn't hanging my hat on.
I thought, Maybe I'll watch a game of that and I've literally now watched.
I didn't watch the first one, admittedly, but then I was like, Well, I got a chicken on the series now.
Well, it's like that.
It was weird because the first couple of games I was just, like, kind of disinterested.
And then once you hit game, Florida was like something clicked for the Nuggets.
I think they just figured out rotations, to be honest with you like that, just like kind of swayed it and it really made it interesting.
Siri's and again, like I just like watching this.
I I always It's a really cool to see two young guys showing out and by the way, if you haven't already noticed all the guys with young legs air playing way better in the bubble and I don't think that that's a coincidence, I think that's absolutely because these guys take, like there much quicker to get acclimated.
Co ISAT a monster.
But I mean otherwise.
It's mostly been these young guys, but be to see them both on smaller market teams.
I think it's really cool.
I'm like looking at this like, Hey, these guys were drafted.
What I think A for Jamal Murray 7th, 8th, and then Donovan Mitchell is 10th 11th.
So and then Devin Booker is a small market team as well.
11th so or 12 out of what you consider to be.
But like everyone knows, right, like top three or four picks in the N B.
A draft where all the money gets made and everything else is that roll of the dice.
Every one of these teams rolled themselves into a phenomenal play.
Throw another one in SDA.
SDA is another guy picked outside of the top 10.
So that's a lot of guys that you're like looking at now that yeah, they're not really like a top three pick.
They're not even, like, a career, anything like that, like they're like legit.
You know, guys that are picked outside of like to talk to them that are killing it Well, by the way to men like Ah, the you mentioned the O, K.
And Alexander there like they've been, they've had a strong enough Siri's now, like they didn't need.
They don't need to win this series, but they've done enough to be like, Boy, should we should.
We want to keep Chris Paul here even just for another year.
See what we can come back with for the Denver Nuggets.
Now you're listed as the three seed, but we all know how muddled is in the West.
Jamal Murray showing off you like.
Okay, maybe we already have the the guy to become maybe the number one the leader of this team and Joker gets to be this absolutely elite freak player that you have on the roster to.
For the Jazz, though, this feels like is good as Mitchell has been.
This is all you know.
This all comes back to this all goes back to that gold bear relation and saying like, Hey, guess what? If we lose from being up 31 and Mitchell's been showing out like this and even though I'm not go bears you got, he's got one off the rebound that's that's what he does.
But if they lose this, I do think that then it's like, Okay, what do we want to make an adjustment here? What moves you make If they win it, then I think you can convince it to be. It's a run back.
Maybe we tweak some of the supplemental players, but we'll stay as is, and you communicate evidence both those players and really Mitchell convince him, Hey, we're gonna keep gold Bear here.
We can do this thing.
So a lot hinges in terms of the move, the off season and what happens here.
A lot comes out of this Siri's, especially for the Jazz.
It's funny, I don't like even no matter who wins tonight.
I actually feel a little better about the Jazz in the in the short term and maybe even the long term, because I'm like, Hey, look, you put boy on this team and, like, are they kind of feisty? Are they the I don't know, the third best team in the West right now.
If you look at the remaining teams, I think Dallas actually really had a puncher's chance to be in there.
I think you know the way they tested the Clippers? Like I was looking at them like Boy, I don't know what the hierarchy is right now, but you guys there in the mix like you're right there, like I really don't know.
I think we're not gonna learn much about the Lakers until what? Around three.
I mean, yeah, E already.
See, Winds like we walk.
We won't learn anything until LeBron is either hoisting the trophy or not learned something about the Lakers.
You said like that that matchup will great.
Okay, See? But Houston, on the other side of the two, I know you're not a big fan of that.
And by the way, I've had these conversations around, You know, I get I get what the Splash Brothers introduced into the league.
I understand the mentality, but by the way, it's a pretty elite class of teams that can do that into the playoffs and have deep playoff success.
You see that come undone a little bit.
So, Houston, on the other side of that series, you're a team that's a bad season.
Pieces get pulled apart.
I think if you were to fall in this syriza's Well, because that's all relative.
The Western Conference is going to shift in.
Houston could easily next year be in Dallas is positions you could be sitting in the seventh race.
T just because so many young teams are building up getting better there.
Yeah, that's an interesting time.
For like, if you, if you mostly built around shooter, is like, you look at Milwaukee, Houston, all these teams that are built around shooting, they just don't have.
Like, if that if the shots aren't falling, What what's the backup plan? They don't really have it right now.
And like, you kind of watch that and you're like, I mean, I I could even I don't know.
I mean, I guess that's what happens when you build around one singular star.
I actually think the books are probably in a better situation than Rockets.
You know, Middleton's been awesome.
So, um, I don't know.
I think that's a really interesting turning point for the league.
I think we're starting to see that pendulum swing the other way a little bit, where it's like, Hey, we actually don't need to throw out, you know, just lineups of exclusively shooters because we're not trying to outscore the Warriors anymore, like you actually can just play your best players.
And actually, maybe it's better to have three go to scorers than one and a bunch of shooters like I I would be interesting things back, actually, to like the three star alignments, all this stuff that we've known historically, I do have to wonder.
Well, could, by the way, with if it comes to pass at any point, we get a Lakers Rockets matchup.
That's like the antithesis of going small and shooting vs getting ur and bustling up.
And I dug on the podcast, mentioned to me.
I said, Yeah, but I just think that, like that, can become a really boring Siri's really fast because I think that the Lakers can start to dominate that very quickly, and I just like I don't know if I want.
I don't want to sit through that, but e, I want to like the Rockets so badly I do and I'm the same ways I'm like, I want to like them so badly and I'm like, I love it, the numbers, the like.
You don't love it, but I get it like I understand the idea, but you watch them play and you're like, I don't know what's missing, But there's something fundamentally wrong with this and I love it until I until the shots that I'm like, Uh oh ugly and I'm just like, yeah, it's alright, I cut. You have concluded.
I just I'm happy somebody shares this because I watched them and it's so frustrating.
Like I've watched that Siri's and I'm six games into it.
There's a Game seven and I'm like, I don't even know if I want to watch this Game seven.
I'm going to do it and I'll get into it.
But there's something weirdly dissatisfying about watching them because you know what they could be.
And you know what it would look like if they were making their shots.
But I think that's the nature of the three point shot.
You're making 35% of them, So naturally, you're gonna be sitting there for the other 66 60 65.
Let's just say 65% of the time we're gonna go.
That five got airborne map.
It's ironic that I do know that I am terrible mental, but uh, 55% of the time, and you're just like, uh, you know, I just I don't have 65.
I'm gonna I think it's good I'm done, It's hard.
And it is hard to watch that.
And and again, it's ****ytics, right? Saying, like by the numbers you use more than two.
So take more of those and live with it, and it just doesn't make for the most engaging basketball on a possession to possession basis and or for like five minutes stretches.
The only the thing is as this game starts to get underway, it's a 33 Nothing lead for Utah.
I told you, Um, when you mentioned the Bucks, I will just say that, um, I think that they are a dominant kind of point guard away.
You took him again? Yeah, getting 3 ft.
That That's the thing, that they're kind of missing there.
And maybe maybe you're right that you can convince the guy to go to Milwaukee who's in that kind of position of will take on a contract and get him there because that's what they need.
They need someone as good as Middleton has shown up to be.
He also has lows.
And there's some something needs to happen there with the honest as my name and Joker knocks down a bucket on the inside.
Everything together here.
There's a lot of things there.
Let's let's not make me do math anymore.
Let's let's agree.
No more math for me.
1 14 109 Final I'm calling for the Nuggets.
You've got the Jazz Big performances.
Let's see how it all pans out, man.
We always want to get all of you that we get on with a lot of directions.
Check us out on Twitter.
I'm sure we'll be talking it up and come right back here on SportsCastr News talking all things nb a enjoy game seven.
