A SportsCastr dot com I am your old sports guy, Mike, That is Brandon Morale.
What's up, buddy? A man just hunkered down staying dry and got to a safe place for all this madness down here.
It's been a hell of a 48 hours, but, man, I don't know what else could go wrong in this year.
All I know is, when you said that you were coming on, I'm thinking, Okay, this guy just got evacuated and he's talked about coming on the show, and I'm like a brother.
God bless you up.
I'm we're praying for you, making sure that everybody in the in the morrow family is safe and dollar.
You know, ST, stay away from that freakin thing because category three ain't no punk.
Now they're saying right now it could make landfall is a four, and that's and that's just tonight.
And that's another Jesus man.
It's a bullseye.
Were right there on the target of a bull's eye.
And honestly, we've been through it before and it messes with your mind in lighting plays tricks on you because now start thinking about man.
Should I just moved back west to San Antonio? Get away from these from the same.
We can't we just can't seem to catch a break. Michael. In the Gulf Coast.
It's It's really it's It's something in.
And it's funny because, you know, we were talking about how my wife talked me into not moving to Florida right now.
Well, I don't want to say right now in the next year and a half, and I'm just like I'm like, you know, But you know, this whole The whole reason was I wanted water.
I wanted to, and she's like, Do you see what is going on right now? You know, I've just like all right, so, you know, we had to compromise, and you know the one thing I'm concerned about, Obviously I have family in Houston, and it's just It's crazy, man.
It's like Is it worked? The trade.
You know, you guys have this beautiful water.
You have beautiful weather, but you could get hit with a Category four friggin hurricane.
Yeah, Zika said, Give up the trade off of the heat or the storms.
And of course, it's ah, when it hits October and the season's almost over.
It's pleasant conditions down here, too, as well.
But I even was talking to some friends up in Alberta today in Canada.
Was like, Yeah, you're winners were tough, but your other temperatures seem really nice.
So right, What about becoming a can American on this kid? And I don't know, just there, your brain Prairie Albert, High to the Murphys.
And honestly, there have been checking in on us this morning in the outpouring of just people.
Checking and honest has been awesome.
But, you know, my wife and daughter is safe, so that's all that matters to make.
That's good, man.
I'm glad you guys were saying All right, I am going to take a brief moment to talk about this for a second.
You know, if it's not something you want to hear, Ah avert your ears.
My, I'm not gonna apologise for it.
But I look, Jacob Blake shooting was disgusting.
Um, if I see one more Facebook post about how crappy the guy was and he did this and he I could care less, I could really could care less about what the guy did prior to it.
Now I do know that there was a scuffle behind the car.
They were trying to subdue him.
It goes back to me that a lot of these police officers are not properly trained because how did they have him behind the car? And he was not pinned down, held down cuffs on How did you get away from you? And then where you that mad that he got away from you? That you decided to shoot him seven times in his back? Un.
It's just it's ridiculous, and I don't want to get into a lot of it, but I just wanted to voice my opinion as a man of color as a black man.
It's ridiculous how Hmm.
Doc Rivers said it after the game yesterday, and it almost made me cry because Doc is now, even at the point is like as Blackman.
We have to go tell our kids.
Hey, you know, you have to be careful when you get pulled over.
White fathers don't have to do that now.
I don't necessarily agree with Dr on that.
I think as a whole in society right now, it's not gonna matter what color you are.
You might want to be careful when you get pulled over, no matter who you are.
Because obviously these police officers are not trained in some places to take down somebody and other ones there, taking them down too hard.
It's just what is going on with these police officers and certain places that just don't have a stronghold.
And why are police so okay with shooting black people? It's just it's starting, you know, it's been going on for a long time.
This is just It's like a powder keg.
You know, Wisconsin had all these riots, and and that's the one thing that I hate to see.
I hate when it gets violent, and I just I can't stand it, man.
And I just wanted to take a second to say that it for me, him being shot in the back seven times was unexcusable ridiculous.
And these police officers better be held accountable regardless of whether or not he was black, white, yellow or green.
The guys didn't know what they were doing.
They had, um, behind the car.
But somehow he got away from him, was trying to get in the car, which I understand.
But now, at what point? Now, why isn't he on the ground? Instead, you decided to just pull your gun and shoot the guy seven times inexcusable.
So if you guys want to chime in on it, you're more than I'm just saying Disgusting is the word.
Because I got to watch a little bit of the press conference yesterday.
Attorney Ben Crump was on there, and, man, it's like we've drawn a line in the sand.
It's like I don't know if we don't know did not cross it, because people are still crossing that line right there, too.
And honestly with you, Mike on this that everybody, any police academy out there needs to be retraining.
Need to rethink who they're hiring before they bring them in to a police academy.
Now, because honestly, this racial stuff going on in the country is I'm living over it. I'm tired of it.
I think it's just a lot of people are sick and tired of what's going on, and I think it's like, You know, you've seen all the league's come out and do things like lives matter N B a court Baseball's got behind it hockey, and this is just sickening to And the word is disgusting to think somebody could do this.
And again, you know, the man is paralyzed in a hospital.
This words can't even begin to fill up your vocabulary to say how I feel about this because, honestly, I know we're kind of a PG show. Hundreds.
If I really wanted to get out there and really ra***e it right now, I could.
But this is It's just it's very disgusting.
And I think, honestly, when are we going to get it as a country to all Just get along? I don't know.
I don't know what more we can take, man.
I mean, the loss of lives.
Are you kidding me? The most precious thing we have from the good Lord himself is our lives as it is.
And I don't know how many more of these examples is going to take us to get it.
Get it across as a country for us to get along when you shoot somebody that many times you're trying to kill him? Yeah.
That cop was trying to kill that kid because he couldn't get his arms around me, Couldn't do his job.
So instead of doing his job, which he obviously was inept in doing, he decided take out his gun and do his job that way, Which was the wrong way.
I mean, it's funny because I don't know how much my opinion really matters in this case, but I will say this man, it is a shame, like I just don't I really don't know what we can do.
And you guys talked about life.
Honestly, that's the only gift we have, what we deal with every single day.
I have a lot of friends that there are police officers and they'll agree with you.
A lot of these guys don't get the right training.
And when they don't have the right training, fear comes into play and it takes over.
And it's just I mean, it's a shame I'm sick to see in it.
I don't know what we can do.
Put more money into training.
Maybe just not have these guys on the police force in the first place.
Right? It's funny.
So I like I have a good friend that was a police officer for 30 years in L.
A and his sons getting ready to go into the PD in Denver and his dad's lake.
Well, look warm on it.
You know what? I'm sure I'm all for it because he would make an amazing amazing because he's just a sweet, nice guy That being said, right, that matters.
I do want to say this, and it's funny because, you know, I hear everybody talking about you have to train your kids and which is smart.
My dad had that conversation with with me when I was young, when I was, like, 16.
But I've never been afraid that they were going to mistreat me, right? What? I mean, like, I was never like I was never afraid of that.
And I was an idiot kid, an idiot, frat boy and all that kind of stuff.
And I was just never terrified, so I don't understand that part of it, but yeah, it's just a shame, and I with it with Doc Rivers in the n b A.
Players, whatever they want to do, man, just do what you think you have to do and don't second guess it.
If you think you need to skip a game to get your message across, that's what you should do, and I'm going to just leave it at that.
I mean, it's a shame in, and I just I don't know where what we can do.
I mean, you know, all of the options are on the table right now.
Let's just like Figure Mountain.
Let's let's make this better for everybody because, you know, it's I mean, it could happen in any community, especially with these services that aren't trained.
It's just that I'm tired of here and then ideo and like, let me have this, too, because I took 100 education class probably about 10 years ago, and I'm an avid fisherman hunter to a swelling in that hundreds occasion class.
One of the biggest things that they give is just because you have or you own a weapon does not give you the right to use it in a manslaughter type situation or to degrade somebody or tarnishing animal or to rip something to stretch and not shreds and not harvested out there.
And just because you only you think a weapon gives you power.
No, it does not.
A weapon makes you weak in some instances, and if you're not going to use it for the right reasons, then leave it in the holster.
My biggest thing for that from that hunter education class that I took away beside the written test looking all the things about gun safety is the fact is, just because you have it doesn't give you the right to use it, especially on an innocent, unarmed individual.
Being a Marine, you are were trained a certain way and certain for certain situations, just like what you're talking about.
Brennan right 100 classes.
So as a Marine, there's certain things that were taught toe.
Make sure that we keep each other safe is well because we have weapons.
So we have to know, and we have to be trained properly, how not to just keep ourselves safe, but to keep our brothers say fas well, right, My problem.
My biggest problem with this is that's how I watching the video and I'm not saying anything about the cops.
All I'm saying is what I saw off the cuff and my infinite wisdom, if you will.
It looked to me like the guy.
Not only wasn't he trained well, but he didn't seem like he was strong enough.
He didn't seem like he was the guy that should have been a cop.
The problem in a lot of places that police officers are being thrown into the academy and passed on through and they're not qualified.
That's a problem.
It's a problem because that cop wasn't trained properly, not strong enough.
Take subdue this guy for him to get up and get into his car.
I'm not saying what the guy did was right.
What I'm saying is, what the cop did was wrong because he wasn't properly trained and it couldn't handle his suspect.
That's a problem.
Well, and Mike, you know this like even with the military background pulling the trigger seven times, he was trying to kill that kid a lot of times.
That's that's straightened fear.
Yeah, that's straight Fear and, uh, you know, we got eliminate that and and And look, you know, you can say whether or not the guy did it because he was black.
We're at the point where it is what it is.
It's what we see.
It's what we're seeing.
It's been going on for so long as as a teenager.
It was one of my biggest fears because I saw one of my relatives get dropped drug out of a vehicle.
Scared the crap out of me had never happened to me because I wasn't driving it.
So when I started driving, it was a fear for me.
Mind you guys, I am 51 years old.
We're talking about the eighties when I was afraid of this, and it's now 2020 and there's still a problem with it.
I've been pulled out of a car for doing absolutely nothing and been accused of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and thank God that the few times that did happen to me, I wasn't shot.
I wasn't beaten up.
I didn't have a knee stuck in my throat.
But not it's not the case all the time, and it's a fear for me now.
With 51 years old driving my car.
Being concerned, this is ridiculous.
A zey veteran, as a taxpayer, as a homeowner in America, I shouldn't be afraid to drive my car and get pulled over and fear of being shot because of the color of my skin.
That's you know.
So I didn't mean to go off this far as, but it's just something had to be said.
And, you know, Doc Rivers said something that gave me the chills when he said, You know, how can we keep loving this country when this country doesn't love us back? Well said, You know, So on that note, we're going to take a quick break.
When we come back, we'll talk a little NFL and some MBA.
And, man, I can't wait to tell you guys about what Joe Burrows did with his money.
Joe Burrows? I don't know, man.
I'm starting to wonder about that dude, man, but anyway, keep it locked.
All sports guy Mike, So don't go anywhere.
We'll be right back.

Welcome back to the sports Guy Mike Showcase CBR 98 5 95 7 a.m.
10 40 100 mics FM dot com is well SportsCastr dot com.
Sports guy Mike Brenda Morel, Chris Braiding Hanging out with you So I've got to say this Tom Brady.
You know, we all know we sit back and here this guy say he's going to keep playing until the wheels fall off, you know? And actually, he did say that he would stop playing if he couldn't make a difference anymore, which in my opinion, is pretty smart.
Okay, but Russell Wilson now has come out and claims that he's gonna play for at least another 15 years, saying that he'll play until he's 46 years old.
That's what we said.
Yeah, he said, I'm right in the beginning of my prime, Okay? My goal is to play another 15 years.
Now, of course, Russell right now is 31 years old.
And look, he's you know, he's got some mileage on him.
And if we look back and we think about guys like Tom Brady, guys like Bret Farve that played into the forties Vinny Testaverde, there's, you know, there's quite a plethora of guys, but nobody has made it and been, What's the word I'm looking for? Not just effective, but been that guy to take your team where they need to go.
Is this even anywhere in the realm of reality and possibility? CB I think it 100% is.
And let me tell you why.
So I'm a 50 year old dude, right? And I've never been a pro athlete, But I have beat my body up throughout the years, You know, the knees, the shoulders, you know we're going through.
So that being said, I'm unlike the best shape of my life, man, I feel I see your brother.
So could I go out and play in the NFL? No, because I was never good enough.
I sucked in the first eyes.
Is I'm going to just tell you this? We all see Mike Tyson.
I think Mike Tyson net.
I think he's 52 as well or 54.
I think he could get in the ring with anybody today and survived three rounds and could potentially win after the rounds.
It's day sanely position.
So after that, then we don't know the tank might be dead, which you know what I mean, right? I think 46 years old now with the way people take care of their bodies, the surgeries, the way they pamper him with the hyperbolic chamber and everything that they do 46 years old, is not out of the realm of possibility.
Russell Wilson has been taking care of his body.
So, yeah, Is it possible? Yeah, and I think Russell Wilson, when he says stuff, I kind of believe them.
So I think is going to go for it until the wheels fall.
Oh, look at Alex Smith Dio hanging off duty hanging, and he's got this weird thing on his leg.
Now can he go on start for half the teams in the NFL? Absolutely.
100%? Yes, sure.
Yeah, it's It's It's scary to know that a guy like that is is going to be playing in the NFL after watching that.
That that that special on ESPN it was disturbing.
I think anything is possible when you look at it today, and Chris made a lot of good points.
I mean the surgeries, you look at medicine and how medicine has evolved over the last 20 or 30 years now, and athletes are taking better care of themselves out there right now.
So if Tom Brady could do it, Russell Wilson's a confident athlete.
Willie's a Super Bowl champion to at the same time, he brought Seattle a lot of luck since coming there, too.
With Pete Carroll.
You've got the right coaches and the right coordinators around you and just a lot of talent to at the same time to continue building something that's very special in Seattle, right there to knowing they're in itself NFC West division out there with San Francisco on the Rams and of course, all the teams there.
But at the same time.
This is a great organization, a great team.
Russell's a pure athlete, can do many things throwing from the pocket, getting outside.
You know, like I said, using the speed, becoming mobile, getting his teammates involving the best positions, they've got some good wide receivers and, like Chris said, you know, with the medicine out there today and of course with everything going on with surgeries and athletes being pampered now with every different type of training coming down and like I said, trainers taking care of their bodies and also athletes finding new way to take care of themselves.
Yeah, I mean, you look at Justin Verlander, 37 38 years of old.
I know he's a little bit hurt now.
Had the best year of his career last year at the age of 36.
I mean, winning 21 games and winning a Cy Young.
You look at the Gap Mike between that 11 19 4008 years is a long time.
I have one season in 2011 where he wins 25 games and won two Cy Young and an M V P and they come back in 2019 out the age of 36 wins a Cy Young between an eight year gap.
So if you see stuff like that going on, Nolan Ryan he picks, delivers 44.
Did Niko brothers think about Phil Niekro overs? Absolutely.
And like you said, you see this and I'm sure tone could agree with it.
I mean, this is just becoming a trend in sports Now that you have unhelpfully takes care of their body, keeps right and trains, right, they can extend their career as long as they want to.
Russell Wilson till his 46 tone.
What do you think? Listen, if I was married to see a right probably last I e c b that you got there for, like, going on out there, brother.
Look, you look a little lit up mortar that like I listen, I agree with what all you guys I mean, with with everything that's going on nowadays with the organics and, you know, and you talk about like de pimping wrestling guys to DDP created this DDP yoga.
That's like reinventing people right now.
They take care of our bodies.
I caught it right, but But now I really think I really think that he could definitely do that.
No doubt about it.
And I look at Tom Brady.
Yeah, I I still not the sound show pianistic, but they asked, do happy wife Happy life, right? I mean, Giselle Sierra, Look at somebody's Theo de Superstar.
Look at a rod with J Lo.
I would have come back as a rod, but I mean, these guys, they definitely I mean, it has ah lot to do with it, because listen, you've got to keep up with your woman, right? You were like, I get out of it.
I gotta keep my woman. So I think they'll be hard.
I'm going to tell you this.
I think all through you guys air are nuts that you think that Russell Wilson is gonna play till he is.
Look, I am 51 years old, and I am here to tell you, for a long time, I was in the best shape of my life.
Marine Corps juco ball, the whole nine yards.
There is no wet.
Now, look, if this guy makes it to 46 I will take my hat off and I will tip it to him.
I can see Russell playing into his early forties like Brady.
Let's not forget the guy's only been playing for eight years.
He wants to play another 15.
Okay, that's a That's a tall order, gentlemen.
And when you get to that 40 mark, ask Brett Farve what happened.
They were like, Oh, Bretz, good to go.
He's gonna When you hit that wall and Brett Farr said it, you don't just hit that wall, you slam into it.
Brett Farve did everything but take care of his body man as something he did everything wrong.
Yes, Wrangler commercials.
Yeah, we're not going to tell me that that that a 10 year gap all of a sudden is going to make these guys invincible because you know, they're eating tree bark like Tom Brady.
Well, guys not take it's either, though Mike Russell said his trip smartest died in here, Lee.
That's why I think he's gonna play 42 a 46 man.
I just It's a stretch broke, but when you're that age and you want a goal, maybe he's a back up quarterback for somebody when he's 46 that actually see that? I could see Because look at how long Vinny Testaverde did it.
Um, I don Are you kidding me? This frickin this gins.
Hey, I'm gonna play until my frickin knees fallout.
And that's pretty much what, Vinnie Day.
That's magics Going to do that to eat birthday cake all summer and people keep calling his, you know, But he is the consummate.
I thought Charlie Batch was like the ultimate backup quarterback.
Fits is by far surpassing Charlie with becoming that guy, the poster child of backup quarterbacks that will come in and win your six games a year on.
Then he'll sit down or I'll get hurt or whatever.
My, I'm glad you brought Charlie back.
But didn't Charlie Batch look like he was my guy Vered back together the last few years? Okay, sleeve on one arm and like like holy cow, man, this guy is still out there, man.
They velcroed him back together is worse than, you know, watching drunk it, ready with all the frickin bionic elbow stuff that he's got.
Yeah, Charlie was put together with duct tape the last couple of years there, Gronckle played always 46.
2 of it used to nobody shots on the yachts.
And, you know, I don't know, Crockett.
You want to talk about something that's been beat up? That's a young guy with a beat up body.
Yeah, man, That dude has been at Duke has been beat up bad knees.
Look, all I can say is I wish him all the best If the guy thinks that he complained to his 46.
Kudos to you, Russell.
I just I think it's a stretch to 15 years after already being in the league for seven going into your eighth year.
It definitely has to do with the sport, too.
Actually has to do with the sport.
I mean, it decides to go play baseball.
Ben Carter, when he retired, like 40 5 43 43 or 44.
He ticket as long as you could in the MBA.
22 years was that it could be the Nuggets could still use him to drop some threes for him.
But anybody can use him right now.
You were still bowling last year.
Yes, he just retired.
He just went to ESPN the beginning of this year.
It's not I mean, don't go with you to tone.
I'm sorry, Mike.
I get being a good wrestling fans here at the same time, watching and just appreciation of what those guys do and what they put their bodies.
So you look at the undertaker.
I mean, Mark Calloway.
Now it's 50 54 55 just retired after this year's big event with WrestleMania.
So I mean again, Ric Flair, whole cobian.
Tremendous examples of guys who put their body for all those flips and falls and stuff like that have to be athlete to do that kind of stuff, even though it is scripted.
But we still enjoyed because it is a male soap opera to at the same time.
But again, tremendous athletes, man, and they put themselves through it so of guys air wrestling into their fifties.
And they do that tone as you know, 365 days a year.
They never get a day off, so just sitting on the sport and how you take care of your body and what you eat and how you exercise and what type of training you doing well with Chris on that, too, because, honestly and Mike, it may be unrealistic for Russell to do it, but it's great to be goal oriented to at the same time for Russell.
So Vince Carter came into the league in 1998? Yeah, to the Toronto Raptors.
Here he left the 2019 2020 season with Atlanta.
How insane is that? And played a effectively? Yes.
Now you guys were talking about, you know, play.
And I was just thinking about him and your boy Mike popped in with Mo Mariano Rivera.
You know, here's another guy that was pitched.
I mean well past the time that people thought he was gonna play.
But Vince Carter was definitely that guy that even up until last year, was still being a integral part of the team.
The guy was still averaging, you know, 30 point.
I mean, it's just it's it's mind blowing, but it's a different sport.
I keep picking you thinking Jose Mesa as a closer.
Here's a guy who was probably 64 put his birth certificates at 45 he was still pitching right so way.
Don't know if the closer thing is huge, but you're right, like Vince Carter.
Hey was phenomenal.
We really waas and it's just a different sport.
It's not like he's getting hit in the back or getting swatted at or getting, you know, getting a choke hold on the body slam.
You know, back in the nineties, well, yeah, that's true.
But Hardaway Jr got a tech for like blocking a shot under the basket last night.
I'm like, Oh, my God, come on now Now, the best thing about what you guys were talking about role move on is the Tom Brady thing.
If you go back and look, Tom Brady hasn't been hit very often, really hasn't hates when he gets hit.
Tony, you throw the ball and then I'm going to do this because I know the hits coming.
I think von Miller has half all of all the hits on Tom Brady.
I wouldn't I will get the Tom Brady and that's something we gotta get to him now.
We're going to see what happens this year in that Tampa O line.
If they can hold it down, I'm gonna tell you the first two games will be a lot of holding calls a lot of holding calls that off Israel tries, they're gonna be holding because they're not gonna be able to figure it out.
I'm going, Okay.
Do you just hold him? We'll just call.
And there's a guy here in Houston.
A man that can get to him to JJ Watt is another gap collapse a pocket, and it's still define gravity to when it comes down to it.
So we get to watch JJ do its thing down here, and it's pretty Kohli matchup against them.
I know we have a losing record and beat them one time in the past.

But I was like, Man, I got to spend more than a little now because it's gonna make me upset.
So he's killing me.
But for May I know.
I'm like, OK, I gotta work on the waddle.
I gotta I gotta work.
May I gotta work on some stuff, man.
I got a working on some stuff.
So anyone in the n b A.
Last night? Uh, let's see where my at? Why is this? Oh, well, all right.
We lost CB so she'll be back.
So let's get some scores from last night.
Thank God for the Nuggets trying to find a way Toe Creek back into the Siri's, and it's now 3 to 2 in favor of Utah.
Even though the Nuggets won last night against the Jazz, won 17 toe, 107 Donovan Mitchell at 30 points, two rebounds and Jamal Murray, star of the game.
42 points, eight rebounds, eight assists.
Jamal Murray was putting in work last night show.
Did you get a chance to check it out now? I didn't see the game.
Seems of highlights.
I had a lot of stuff going on yesterday, but Jamal marries one of my favorite young players in the end, it really is.
And yeah, he's done things that when he was drafted, nobody really gave me that. The gun was shopping.
A lot of people said, I know maybe he's not gonna work out. She's gonna have to work.
I'll tell you what, man.
He has been phenomenal.
Kevin Mitchell not to take Donovan Mitchell is very close to being the M V P in a bubble.
If it wants over Damian Lillard, I think, yeah, Mitchell would probably be the eventual M v p.
The Bubble because he's been playing out of his mind.
Yeah, I will say this about Jamal Murray.
Look, man, he was underrating when he came out of Kentucky and we played that one year in the overall.
It was the seventh overall in the 16 giraffe, they had their 20 But I will say this.
They've got a great roster to, and I think they live a little bit more help coming off the bench beside just one guy scored 50 points are averaging, you know, over a 30 game.
And I like to like Tony said, You know, it's been great seeing Donovan just kind of dominate there in the bubble at the same time to, you know, 50 points.
Coming off that 51 point game in the Game four win, the Nuggets kind of creep back in the series now with the critical Game five keep their season alive.
So I still like the Jazz and this one, too.
At the same time, it's funny how the East syriza wrapping up very quick with Boston in Miami, kind of moving on to these West Siri's air coming down.
Do you see what's the better talent and a better conference right now on a on a conference that should win and then be a championship, whether it be the Lakers or someone else coming up this year, too? It's funny how you talk the MBA Mike, because the Lakers just now it feels like they've gotten their act together.
And frank vocals kind of running the type of offense that he wants to a little bit with.
Cron kind of played well and also you, Anthony Davis sitting are dominating, too, at the same time, and there's a lot of cast of characters that have really stepped up in the bubble and watching these playoffs.
It's been a good brand of basketball, really has pains me to say that the West is better than the East eight saying it it.
Hey, I know Tony knows exactly what I'm talking about it.
It's not changing like I know, I know, dude, we've just got to suck it up and hope somebody out of the East starts playing by their anyway.
Mavs in the West first round, much to what Brandon was talking about.
This one now is also at 32 Clippers finally take over this Siri's ah and beat the Mavericks last night.
Won 54 toe, 1 11.
Lucas Don chick, 22 points quiet.
7 rebounds and four assists.
Are the Clippers going to close this one out? Brandon I think so.
When I think it was about time Paul George stepped up to the table and founded a bank which welcome back, son, Where have you been Inside the bubble.
You know, when it comes to that, all the work can't be put on Kawai.
You look at Lou Williams coming off the bench and giving them a little bit of a spark of energy right now to look, Doc, still one of the best coach of the N va.
He's got all the talent in the world coming off that bench to play well, and I think now that they've got a system in place.
I mean, if you look at L.
They're looking to cut the throat right now, and I think you have to really step on this and make it a critical Game six, which you also the Rockets have to do to as well.
Today's a critical Game five.
Talk about somebody that's not drop the ball there to have wondered.
I'm starting to question the coaching of Mike D'Antoni, the play of James Harden, the play of the role players, and I will say this being without Russell has really hurt them has been the Achilles heel without Westbrook on the floor will be history to see if it's a game time decision.
Probably won't play today in the critical Game.
Five for Houston to Oklahoma City right now.
Has got a lot of role players guys stepping up gallon.
Dorian has been shooting lights out to in this series, especially Games three in Game four.
So again, the winner of this series today for Game five, I think it's like 70 80%.
Sometimes the winner of Game five will go on to win the next round.
So the Rockets? No, that's a critical game for them today.
Close it out. Yeah, absolutely.
I still clippers still my favorite, and they still have the best.
They still have the best 12 points off the bench in the MBA with mantra Sorrell and Lou Williams.
And like Brandon saying cool, I can't do it all.
George, Is there a reason PG 13 was shooting like 16%? I don't render.
And finally listen, find out all the snide and he looks really good, you know.
Houston is dying without Russell Westbrook.
They needed Westbrook.
Right? And Oklahoma City is a fascinating story.
Still there any CP three to me is the best player that nobody ever talks about.
Nobody ever talks about CP three and all he does and we talk about guys that old age is 34.
Still get it done.
So yeah, great product right now.
But clippers no doubt closed out. My pain.
Curveball can come to the Knicks any time of CP three through, please come through.
Speaking of closing out, bucks play magic tonight.
They are ahead in this series, Three games to one.
Is it over there, too? As well. Tone? Yeah.
Listen, the magic out there, they got their winning game one.
It is what it is that's really more walk.
But I don't see more going any further.
I I don't I think Well, if you got exposed a little bit and I had saying that I'm not a AARP, let's Oh, God, I'm not a Chris Middleton guy.
I don't think they have as much surrounding pieces around Johannes as they think they dio you can do right.
So if you get the Fignon is your trouble.
I still think in the East it's Miami or Toronto.
I still think it's it's there gold toe win between those two teams and it's their East A win.
In my opinion, Miami is playing railroad Nice.
Speaking of another one, that should be closing it out.
Brandon, are the Lakers going to just get this one taking care of at seven o'clock tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers? You know, it all depends on Lillard.
We like Tone, said he's been the best player in the bubble outside of maybe looking to Donovan Mitchell with the Jazz to you right now, if he steps up in this guy right now, we've seen him shoot lights out.
Not just in the bubble, but over his last five or six years of his career.
I think right now you're rallies around Portland, I still I still think C.
J McCollum is gonna have a better, better Game five coming up tonight suitable for Portland.
I like Terry Stotts as a coach.
They may push it one mawr, but if the Lakers come out aggressive instead, keep putting up 50 points, 60 point halftime type scorers in the first half.
And like I said, you can't contain Anthony Davis.
They've got a lot of good role players stepping up to as well.
So this will be interesting to see if Frank Vogel and the guys can close it tonight.
I still think we're telling me right now, still looking at a Western Conference finals.
When you look down in between the Clippers and the Lakers could make it interesting.
Western Conference champion do as well.
So this is gonna be a lot of fun with these playoffs.
So if Littered shows up tonight, I'm gonna say no.
If Lillard is out and they defend him real well, the Lakers get more of a role play off the bench.
And five coming up tonight.
Like I said, Rockets is gonna be a very interesting to see what type of James Harden shows up tonight.
Here's here's Here's something.
And I went out on a limb and, you know, I really thought Portland was gonna bring it away, and, you know, they've disappointed me a little bit, but I think that they make up for lost time.
If I were you don't even come close to that 13 points.
If you're trying to bet on this game.
No, stay away from that because I think that this is, Ah, six point game, maybe a four point game.
But give me Portland wins tonight to push its into a Game six.
It's just there's no way Damian Lillard and that crew that's that talented is gonna is gonna walk away with only one winner.
It's just I I don't I don't see it happening.
And if it does, well, then I guess I was wrong.
But there's just too much talent on that Portland team.
I need McCollum to be a little more aggressive, man.
What happened was that one, that one game and he was so aggressive.
Yeah, he's grabbing rebound, and now he's like he's like doing this.
When he was a killer, man was killer.
He was looking at the screen saying, You know, he can't go Army.
We see what's right.
And that was my whole premise of Portland saying, You know, if you have two killers and Lillard and McCollum giving you, you know, 70 points a game, I'll take Melo given me 15 but sees a McCall.
He's been a ghost man.
I know what's going on.
Noted Nurkic also needs to play better tonight.
I know where he's been.
He disappeared there in Game three and Game four. So tonight, pivotal.
They get those role players like you, said Tom, to step up right now, Turkish needs to get the ball more in the paint, drive to the basket, get to the free throw line more.
And I think Portland, the free throw line could be very good in McCollum and Damilola, 80% at the free throw line.
We've seen the teams inside this bubble and what's later these high scoring games? These teams that penetrate get the ball to the basket, have tremendous ball moving and take it to the rack man and end up at the free throw line and shoot lights out over 80%.
Those are the teams that are winning in these playoffs.
You look at Miami mike to as well.
I think Miami right now with their role players and Bam out of Bio and Kelly Olin, it coming off the bench and some of these guys as well and Duncan Robinson.
Miami's playing very well and I like they're exposed to a lot of what he's doing with the Rockets. Thunder.
Also tonight on TNT, the Rockets air favored by 3.
5, which tells you that this is a toss up game.
It's anybody's game tone.
Who do you like? Ah, this is tough.
May I? You know I'm not digging the Rockets.
If they don't have Russell, I'm just I just right because I think you know the whole issue before was which just seems hard.
And being the guy was that D'Antoni offense didn't work.
They needed another guy who wasn't Chris, Paul and Westbrook.
He's I've said this before.
I think Westbrook healthy.
Westbrook has taken the one man, fast break name away from John Wall, and it is now Russell Westbrook, in my opinion, and he opens the spacing on the floor so much and you see that it's completely missed now.
So Russell Westbrook does not play.
I don't think there's any way Houston even has a shot, and I don't either.
I look at Steven Adams to being critical in this series.
They haven't found an answer for him and he's gotten better every game and it's going on especially with Game three in Game four with the Thunder.
Right now, there's something that Billy Donovan.
They went back and watched film there in Oklahoma City.
They've seen it.
Chris, Paul, You know, spending time with James Harden has told him a lot about the type of offense they run, so they can better their defensive game plan against the Rockets to right now.
So I will say this.
I was huge, Chris, Paul fan For the two years he spent with this, I never would have let him go for that trade.
It was great to get your hands on a star like Westbrook, but if you look at it now, I think in the end of this, Siri's Chris Paul might be the one laughing back in their face, saying, Hey, guys, you let me go.
I went to a pretty good Oklahoma City team.
I wasn't sure if I was gonna play if they were gonna buy me out or I was going to retire.
And here's a guy that looks like he's not ready to retire right now.
When it comes down to is his play.
He's making teammates better around him.
Mike, his assist count has gone up in this playoff series, and especially when their backs are against the wall on the Rockets at a chance to bury them down 30 to allow the momentum now back on the Oklahoma City side, give the momentum to their players and to Billy Donovan.
I like the thunder in this game, Mike, and I think this is gonna be the end.
It could go seven, but I think the thunder really your favor in this playoff series right now.
Look, that's something that we always talk about in sports is momentum and how crucial it is, especially during playoff time.
And I think, okay, sees got that momentum.
And I think it carries over stretching into tonight's game.
So I'm with you guys.
Give me the thunder as well.
Point about Steven Adams.
Real fast brain makes because the whole issue going in was, we know that D'Antoni went small.
Houston wants to know if they were going to run into somebody.
They although they were gonna be in trouble on getting exposed.
Now they are so over to baseball.
Lucas Giolito, 19th.
No hitter in White Sox history.
Did you guys get to see a little bit of this, or at least just to see the highlights.
Yeah, his stuff is dominating, and here's a guy that we do, you know, when it came down to, it was the major piece of the trade just a few years ago to and I think this kid right here is on the cusp of maybe doing this again in his career.
And I'm not gonna say Hall of Fame status.
But we always knew he had this stuff.
The question was durability and what he remained healthy.
This is a good young White Sox team that may not make the playoffs this year, but they've got a lot of core pieces around right now.
You gotta look Yasmani, Grandal, you know, calling good games there to in Chicago right now.
So it's It's a a change of scenery, which is great for him, and I think for him to have come over and done what he's done when he's healthy, the dominant stuff you see the fastball in the mid nineties, you see the off speed stuff.
Let's face it, too, as well.
But it's great to get a no hitter in baseball that Dumpster fires.
But this is gonna be a chance to have this young man pitched the first no hitter of this shortened 60 game season.
And I will say this.
I still think pictures are ahead of hitters right now.
Hitters are looking a visible when it comes to stepping up to the plate, still trying to figure out how to hit a curveball to, and I will.
You know, it's been a great Aziz.
Many games teams have been able to get in minus two.
Covert stuff to is great for this young man.
And I think it Lucas Giolito is one of the bright spots for major league baseball.
Yeah, and you want to talk about some D o? They the Sox were playing that.
They work for this kid.
They were diving.
It's up that normally you don't see these guys going after that last hit.
That was a laser, a laser, that final out.
I mean, we got lucky band.
They got lucky, but that was a great game.
It really was like I was watching part of it, and I had to go back and, you know, watching more highlights of it.
But, yeah, it was.
It was pretty amazing to see that.
And that's what you look.
That's what I love about sports.
Love about team sports.
That whole team was literally not just physically behind him, but they were behind.
They were doing everything in their power to help him and get these guys this win.
It was just it was nice to see was refreshing again.
It's the Pirates in the socks to change problem, obviously, the Pirates not making the playoffs.
But, my God, what it does to five.
But anywhere you guys were talking about, you know how a lot of teams have had games.
Here's another one. Angels, Astros.
Today's games postponed, obviously due to Hurricane Laura Yankees were postponed yesterday in Atlanta.
So I mean, it's just it's it's it's scary.
And we talked about this in the beginning of the show.
Brandon, we're glad that you and your family are, you know, are safe and sound.
You know, Tony got hit not too long ago to over their trees, getting up rooted and stuff like that.
You know, we have Corona virus already affecting everything.
Now the weather starting to affect everything.
Okay, guys, what's going on? Is this the end? Yeah.
Tell somebody off.
I mean, it's like, no matter what, you watch the news.
Whether it's it's the weather that you hear a scientist say, Well, an asteroid's gonna hit in a minute.
The hell is going on here, man, I agree.
This is a preemie 2021.
I will say this.
Thank you to all the front line workers of people that had to remain behind in Texas.
There, in my hometown of Beaumont right there, too.
They had to put their lives on the line to and sacrifice that to help others.
Thank you for what you do and having to stay behind it.
Also the some of the plant workers.
And it won't feel workers and stuff like that.
People that got out could get out.
But honestly, for job wouldn't allow you.
And you had to put yourself on the front lines to take care of others.
Thank you for that sacrifice.
What you guys are doing.
The Los Angeles Angels star Albert Pool host is now alone in second place on the MLB career R B I List pulls past a Rod on the list with an R B I single in the fifth inning of Monday night's 11 4.
Lost to the Astros in Houston that gave him 2000 and 87 career R B I's Hank Aaron is the record holder with 220.
Excuse me, 2297.
Um, this is a pretty big milestone for pool host.
Two questions for you guys is pool host, a Hall of Famer one.
And to that's all.
I mean, he's, you know, 210 career r B I's away.
I don't know if he hits Aaron, but so my question is pools, Hall of Famer and doesn't catch Hank Aaron.
And I'm let Tom go first on.
Well, you know, let's say it's Brad Lidge, because I think we're still watching that home run in there, and they all say, right, right.
But now, in all seriousness, listen, you know that the sad thing about pools is that it's the planer flesh showing this man.
I mean, when you when you start, the feet get affected.
It's such a shame.
I want Ryan Howard blow out of this kill ease.
He was never the same.
He went on a historic four year run, and at that time was Ryan Howard and Howard Albert.
Pools in the National League object in that back to back.
But one thing I will say about Pools, he is probably, for my money, one of the best haters of all time to hit for average and power because not not everybody can do that right that consistently for at least 10 12 years, right? So you know the whole of fame.
When I look at guys like Mike Piazza getting in the Hall of Fame, how do I not have our pools in the whole thing? That that that's is my opinion, because I'm not a huge P Oz a guy not to put him on the spot, but Jeff Bagwell? I know Brandon knows all about bags.
I mean, tremendous player, but those if those guys Aaron Alberts got a definitely be a whole Famer, my pain Brandon, look, the next home run Mike is going to be 660 for his career, and I think this is something that we talked about.
The 500 club is 600 Club.
You keep building toward the all time record.
Their to absolutely hands down like this guy is a first ballot Hall of Famer.
You look at what he did like, Tone said.
On the just career stretch of the years where you could do 40 and 100 like it was yesterday's news.
It is amazing what this guy do.
The battle ball skills.
Michael Zone was just insane.
I watched him in.
The rivals were back in the National League Central planning 20 times a year.
Yes, the Brad Lidge Moonshot.
There's still traveling up there to at Minute Maid Park.
So I think he broke the backs if used in so many times.
And if you look like just the stats of what he did against Houston back in the national essential, a guy that hit over 300 in his career with almost 50 home runs and over 100 R B I's just against one team in the national extension.
When they were playing their yeah, like tone, said the planter fasciitis kind of fell off.
He was unhealthy this back last two or three years of his career, but a guy that still goes out there and gives you what he has when he can play at the level he can play right there, whether it's DHR playing first base, he's always been a great teammate.
Guys love playing with him and around him.
So absolutely, This guy's a Hall of Famer and I can't wait to see the next shot.
660 home runs in his mike, A.
It's just amazing. The stats continue to go up.
He's a first ballot Hall of Famer in my book, without a doubt on and I am not.
And I am not an Angels fan.
I'm not, but I've always been a pool Holsman.
No, look, I I am a diehard Yankee fan, but I'm a baseball fan and I love to see guys who are natural hitters.
And Albert Pool host is a natural hitter.
This is a guy that, after 8 18 years in the majors, still found a way to hit night to get 93 R b I's and hit 23 freaking home runs and not even play the whole year at all to pay wheels, man.
You know what I'm saying? This'd look, This is a guy that's at the precipice of, you know, breaking these records.
I don't think he's gonna play long enough to catch Hank Aaron.
But still to be Number two R B I of all time look like Brandon just said He's at 659 Frickin home runs, guys going into the Hall of Fame and actually forties have right.
He will always have my vote.
The guy is 40 years old.
He's been playing since 2001.
You daggone right? He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
He was great at ST Louis.
He's been Grayton in L.
A. And that's the thing.
He's falling off a little bit because I toned said He's got those bad wheels.
But I mean, he still been that guy of consistency.
He's been reliable, and, like I said, toe watch a guy that's a natural hitter.
Everything with him is so fluid and natural, it's even fun to watch him swing the bat.
So one thing onto raided two and bread, it starts on him being a good teammate.
Think about how lucky he has been the play for Hall of Fame managers.
LaRussa Tosha, now Joe Mad.
I mean, think about he hasn't played for no.
Tommy's bad, right? These have been tremendous.
So he's only bestowing that knowledge that was bestowed upon him pacing that on to the younger generation to.
So I mean, just, ah, huge, underrated fat about Albert.
This is all around.
And Mike, let me add to this to real quick.
I think if you look at this guys that signed those type of hefty contracts today with 200 plus in 10 years knowing that the backing of the career, you're gonna lose a step and father time is going to catch up with you, Here's a guy that signed that contract and it's been a committed player to the Angels, the organization, the managers, the changes that they've made the farm systems.
He's been a leader in that clubhouse and a great ambassador for Major league baseball.
So a guy that signs that contract takes it all under himself under his wing toe have that kind of pressure to live up to it.
He's lived up to that contract mike until 40 until it runs out in the next year or two but I started by Hall of Famer.
Well, did he is.
He has definitely lived up to the hype, the money, the fact of being a great teammate and being like you said that, Ambassador Baseball.
If you watch even a little baseball, you know who Albert Pool holds is you just dio, um, and I also think just to kind of cap it off with saying this Albert pool host, Considering what you said tone, because I thought about this right before you said it, he would make I could see him being a great skipper at some point.
Yeah, without a doubt, because of the lineage in managers that he's had in his career and how he's had stave ability over 1920 years.
Nobody is going to make a better skipper than that.
The guy's got too much in the trenches too much, you know, great managers that have been around him.
I think that's his next move.
After he gets off of the diamond and not playing anymore, I think he's gonna be looking for that skipper role, and I think you'd be phenomenal and it if you ask me and somebody will hire him to.
Somebody will get their hands on making a great skipper.
And if it's ah, not a major league job right away, he'll start.
Probably a double, A triple, A tight level Gulf Coast league.
Something like that, Ricky level ball and people will move up fast, just like many managers have done.
But I think if you figure a team out there, you know you're a young team and you want to sit there and have a great great your young players learn from a guy like portholes, I'd hire him right away, no doubt.
God, Look, if Boonie can kick gentlemen in my Yankees Hey, Pools has got a job.
But you can be sure you do it, Pools Dio.
I'm not dissing Clooney, cause that's my dude, but I'm just saying, good players like that that have surrounded themselves with great managers and great players over there over their careers always tend to make very good Skipper's.
It's just the fact.
Alright, guys, we're gonna get out of here.
Thanks so much for hanging out with this, making this part of your day.
We appreciate it as always, Brandon.
Anything you want to say? The nice people before we get out here.
Like I said, shows they're gonna go on.
I've got a jam packed schedule this week, which is always good.
