10 nine, 87654321 What's going on, everybody And thank you to everyone who is watching DPM Commentary live on SportsCastr Facebook and YouTube On today's show, we will be discussing Cincinnati Reds play by play Guy TOB Tom Breneman being suspended for making the home a phobic Slurs live on the air when the Reds were playing a double header against the Kansas City Royals.
We're gonna look at the New England Patriots training camp and, more specifically, trying break down all the interceptions that are being thrown.
And are they because of bad quarterback play? Or is it a testament to just how good the Patriots secondary is? Of course, the Boston Red Sox may have found themselves back in the win column, but they're on the verge of making another losing move, and we need to address the running rumors that the Boston Red Sox may be considering trading Zander Bogaards and the Tom Brady era is over in New England.
That has led a lot of people to believe that the Patriots dynasty is over that's also leaving a lot of people wondering who will be the next dynasty of the National Football League night.
We will discuss some teams who could take that spot given unbiased take on whether or not the Patriots can cling onto the destiny or dynasty in the Cam Newton and Jared Stadium era.
And the very real possibility that we will not see another dynasty in the NFL for a long time.
And then, of course, we're going to finish the show as we always do with the Karen of the day.

Commentary A that I note again There I did.
What's going on? Singer, were you want singer ever? I play guitar and say I time the time, so yeah, I guess it's gonna say man, you might have missed your calling.
You could be a singer. Eight.
Let's just stick with broadcasting for now in podcaster.
We got a lot of red going on here.
We did not plan this for anyone who might be wondering.
We did. There was no phone call.
Funny because I almost put on the hoody.
I put another hoody on you earlier today and realize was the same one I wore on Tuesday and thought, Well, I better change the stop because we're gonna think I don't change my clothes, ******.
And the thing is, eight like I wear a lot of this Bayern Munich stuff, especially during soccer season or whatever.
Yeah, and but it's like I have, like, five jerseys.
They're all the same jersey, but different guys on the back.
But unlike football, where the numbers are in the front and very noticeable, So sometimes I wear like a jersey five days in a row and people think I'm wearing the same jersey every single day.
That's good to know.
It is so Ah, thank you for ah blowing up DP in sports talk last night with the dramatic re reading of the WAP.
You didn't know that was coming? I didn't.
Yeah, that was what I watched a lot of the show, but I couldn't watch the end.
And I tried not to watch the whole show now because I have to watch it when I'm putting it.
When I'm when I'm producing it here.
So I figure, you know, I'll watch it when I'm producing it.
And I was like, and then I hear the lyrics, and I was like, Oh, my God. Yeah.
Really, really aggressive.
Yeah, I should have warned you.
Did you get in trouble for that? No, but I kind of semi yelled at you.
Overtaxing the show yesterday.
Like Like I thought.
I thought he knew you commented in on Facebook.
So everyone watching? Yeah, I have some, you know.
He must have seen it.
Yeah, but I did.
I never like I never really heard the lyrics of the song.
No, I hadn't really heard them like that either.
I had only heard this on them.
I think I heard a radio once or whether it was Yeah, I knew it was a thing I saw on Twitter.
People wake making a big deal about it.
And then that was my buddy.
He's like, have been read the lyrics and bend And he did.
And he did it like so dramatically.
I know that was the funniest part.
He read it like he was reading like Dr Seuss poetry.
Well, speaking of getting in trouble on the air. Touche.
I mean, that really just leads right into our first story I want to talk about, um So I got an article here from Sports Illustrated, but the Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Tom Breneman used an anti LGBT Q slur on air yesterday.
Yeah, I saw that on Twitter.
He has now been suspended and definitely let me go through the story quickly.
Then you can I can discuss it and I will be sold boxing a little bit.
I'm just gonna warn you.
Yeah, so Reds play by play Announcer Tom Breneman was caught on a hot mic using an anti LGBT Q slur during Wednesday's Reds doubleheader.
Verse the Royals.
In a clip that circulated on social media, Brennan Breneman says, quote one of the releases at the F word capitals of the world.
Prior to previewing the second game in Wednesday's doubleheader.
Can you hear me? Clearly? I might working well, Yeah, fine.
Okay, Nothing on my headphones.
I couldn't find the incident occurred on Fox Sports Ohio Broadcast returned from a commercial break before the top of the seventh inning in the first game of the doubleheader.
Breneman remained on the air for the start of the second game, but he was removed mid game from the broadcast.
The Reds later released a statement apologizing for Brennan's comments and said the announcer has been suspended indefinitely.
The Cincinnati Reds organization is devastated by the horrific ****phobia remarks made this evening by broadcaster Tom Breneman.
He was pulled off the air and, effective immediately was suspended from doing Reds broadcasts.
We will be addressing our broadcasting team in the coming days.
In no ways to this incident represent our players, coaches, organization or our fans.
We share our sincerest apologies to the LGBT Q plus community in Cincinnati, Kansas City and all across the country and beyond.
The Reds embrace a zero tolerance policy for bias or discrimination of any kind, and we're truly sorry for anyone who may have been offended, Breneman offered an apology for his comments during the top of the fifth inning, after which he left the broadcast and was released but replaced by Jim Day, saying Quote.
I made a comment earlier tonight that I guess went out over the air and I'm deeply ashamed of, Breneman said.
If I heard anyone out there, I can't tell you how much I say from the bottom of my heart that I am very, very sorry.
I don't know if I will be putting on this headset again.
I don't know if it's gonna be for the Reds.
I don't know if it will be for my bosses at Fox.
I want to apologize to the people who sign my paycheck, to the Reds, to Fox Sports Ohio and to the people I work with or anybody that I've offended tonight.
I can't begin to tell you how deeply sorry I am.
That is not who I am.
It never has been, and I like to think maybe I could have some people that could back that up.
I'm very, very sorry, and I beg for your forgiveness.
End quote Breneman pause during his apology to Call and Nicholas Castellanos home run to lead off the fifth inning and then continued before turning the broadcast over the day.
The full context.
The audio was unclear, and it's also unclear of Breneman was aware that the microphone was on Reds pitcher Amir Amir.
Garrett also offered an apology to fans on behalf of the organization, saying he stands with the LGBT Q Community.
The LGBTQ community.
Just know I am with you and whoever is against you is against me.
I'm sorry for what was said.
So I've seen a lot of different opinions on this today.
Yeah, um, like any time an incident like this happens, um, people show their true colors, right? Yeah, it's when we see the true colors of people.
Are you okay if I sold box for a minute here? Yeah, go ahead.
And any profession you work in, whether it's in car sales like you yourself, whether it's sports media like we do here, I'm a social worker.
That's that is, um you know, work where the epitome of left liberals and, you know, inclusiveness.
Um, no matter who you work for what you do, how you do it, you're gonna work with city people.
Um, the problem here is you can't stop the way somebody feels right.
You can attempt to educate them, hope that they will educate themselves.
Breneman apologized yesterday, Not for what he said.
He apologized for saying it on a hot mic.
It was very weird in the apology, he said to the people who sign my paychecks, that was a quote in there to the people who sign my paper.
And he says that, you know, that's not who I am.
Well, it kind of is who you are, Tom, because you said it.
He said when he thought no one was listening. Yeah.
Um, you just happen to say it to a a hot mic, right? And you didn't know the mike was hot? I don't think that people who have this kind of prejudice in them should lose their job just for being prejudice, because we would never know.
Um, there's not a single person out there who doesn't have prejudice.
Yeah, you have it.
Everybody has it.
Mother Theresa had it to some former or another.
We all have prejudice in us, right? But you can't bring that out in your workplace. Right.
Um and I'm not make it.
Sounds like I'm saying it's OK to be, you know, a hateful *******.
And again, I hope that someone like Tom Breneman will educate himself on Ford about what that word means.
And it's a discussion I've had with my friends because the word he used again starts with an F, and it's usually used towards the *******ual.
Yep, you know, sometimes you can have it to the end of it.
Um, my friends and I have had this discussion in the past how when we were in high school, that word we just used it, right, Right.
We have a new when you were younger is more of a thing.
And it was never really in our minds, a derogatory term towards the LGBT. Q.
It was a word we used to explain people then and men like dork when you said yes.
But then you become a little older.
Yeah, a little bit more educated, right? You understand the word is offensive.
You understand why it's offensive the people and for the straight people out there who were saying well that word doesn't offend me.
And, you know, in England, you know, that's what they call a cigarette.
Yeah, The word doesn't need to offend you.
Just like the end word doesn't need to offend you if you're whitened Caucasian, right? The fact of the matter is that offense somebody.
And as you know, I hate to cancel culture.
Yep, for so many different reasons.
I hate to cancel culture, but Tom Breneman, you did this in your workplace.
You did this on lie there as a as somebody who I think very much like us.
For people who have a public forum, you have a higher responsibility to try to ensure that you aren't using this kind of language and and ensure that you are not offending people.
Right? So he does deserve to be fired.
Most people would get fired by their HR department.
When you think about it, you can't see it at work, Right? And look, I've met racist social workers.
I met ***ist social workers, you know? I mean, it's amazing what every industry has it.
Um, you know, you think of cardinals, but I always think that movie with DMX when he walks into, like, the Lamborghini thing and the white guys doing the strut and trying to act all, you know, badass with, um and, yeah, you know, just totally, like, offends the amax.
And the MX gives the other guy the commission, right? Right.
And, you know, it's that natural prejudice.
But, I mean, you can't do it, and you deserve to lose your job.
Now, I don't believe that his apology was sincere in the fact that he sitting there going, Oh, my gosh, I offended *******uals.
I offended the LGBT community or offended people related to the LGBT.
It was Oh, my Oh, my gosh.
I'm gonna lose my job.
And I'm not gonna make money anymore.
Yeah, you apologize because you had to, which is fine.
I don't hate on people for that.
Hey, if he didn't apologize, he'd be crucified anything.
And he's gonna get crucified for apologizing.
Yeah, well, you know what, man? You kind of put yourself in the position for that to happen.
So, yes, he did.
But it's, you know, it's it's what I hope he does is is he uses this moment as a learning lesson, not just to make sure.
Okay, I don't want to get caught again.
That's not unless and the learning lesson is, educate yourself on why using that kind of word is offensive to people and why you shouldn't use it.
Yeah, the problem is, it wasn't like you and I using the word where we just weren't really educated about how offensive it really is for him to use the quote or the term it's the f you know, Capital of the World.
He really, really needs toe work on himself and educate himself not to feel that hate.
As soon as I saw it, I was like, How How childish is this guy? Then he's still.
It's like he never left high school or middle school, and he still he still thinks whatever weight thinks you know what I mean.
Yeah, it's, you know, I agree few 100%.
It's like if you'd like.
It's like how old, How old is this guy? He's like, 40 Great.
I think he's almost.
I think he's almost fifties kind of Yeah, right, Like he's an old dude and, you know, and I've seen people trying to use the excuse, like while he comes from a different generation, you know where you know? Not really.
Now that excuse doesn't work for me anymore.
Like a different generations use.
We're all freakin educated and after is enough education out there, right that I don't care what generation you come from.
There's no need to be home a phobic.
There's no need to be racist.
You what? I mean, there's no need to be prejudice in any form.
If you're holding hate in your heart because you hold hate in your heart, right? And you know, people like all Well, you know, they grew up like that.
You know what Corner and I have admitted this on air before.
I grew up in a racist household, right? You know, my my father was very racist growing up.
My sister and I could have grown up to be in the same way.
Um, when I was younger, I probably not.
Not probably I did have a lot of the same ideology is my dogs.
That's the ideology I was taught, right? But as I became a teenager and got older and was able to educate myself, I was like, Oh, ****, yeah, but I mean Yes.
And I changed my way of thinking of my change in my way of doing things, because that's what you do.
So this whole it's taught? Yeah, it's talked to 10 year olds, right? Exactly.
But at 15 16 17 18 years old.
You're old enough in your brain is developed enough.
You can start making different decisions, right? Right.
Because when you're a kid, you just go off based on what you see or hear.
You know what I mean? But once you get to a certain eat, you could decide things for this self.
And you know what? And start to realize. Oh, ****.
You know Dad's old school mentality Doesn't you know isn't really a thing.
So Bremen Brennaman is suspended, I assume, indefinitely.
Probably at least the rest of the year, right? Yeah.
I mean, should not be fired.
I mean, I'd be fired.
Yeah, I think he is equally.
He's just suspended at the smoke.
I think he'd be fired, and then you'd have to work on getting so I'm totally different jobs or something.
I don't know what to see. What happens.
I just think that at some point they're going to sneak him back into the industry somewhere.
And probably as you know, we're not going to see it, right? So I mean, look, I don't know.
It might have much more to say about this.
I don't know about you.
Yeah, but, you know, we started heavy.
So now we can enjoy the next gonna say, Yeah, we can enjoy the next 40 minutes of you now and but, you know, I mean, look, you and I have never been afraid to tackle these kind of things, right? Right.
You know, I think it would be irresponsible of us in a in a world where you and I have a platform to address this kind of **** and I think would be irresponsible for us to not address it as it arises.
Right? I'm not gonna go looking for it.
I'm not gonna find every example on Twitter, but I know we are all day, but exactly, But when the opportunity is this blatant.
Yeah, and it's this big of a story.
And it relates to the sports world, right? And you know what? And actually, that's the one thing I want to get to before you live on one of the comments I've seen about how this is just the toxic, uh, culture of the sports world. Good.
I mean, I don't want to just that 100%.
There's a There's a toxicity in the sports culture where there's, you know, racism, um, ****phobia.
****phobia is rampant in the in there, but as I said before, I think the turnaround and say every athlete everybody involved in sports, you know, is a part of this toxic environment is is unfair as well.
I mean, I look at you and I who are part of the sports culture, and, you know, we're not walking around with that kind of ideology, right? A lot of people are, you know, And as I said, I think no matter what profession, no matter what you do that you're gonna find ****ty people in it.
Yeah, um they're gonna find city people everywhere.
So, yes, this comes from the sports culture, but this could it came from any culture is we're concerned in any workplace in any field.
No field is exempt from this It doesn't really matter what you do.
What were like, anything? No, no, Absolutely not.
Have you ever Maybe you haven't experienced it, but have you ever heard stories of like, like, car salesman, like automatically? Like looking for beat up cars? Because, like a black guy walked on the on the site or someone thought they can't afford a new car.
Did you ever experience anything like that? It's funny.
I sold the car to a lady today and she told me that she bought a truck back in 2010.
And when she was out looking at the trucks, none of the guys will come out to talk to him because they didn't think she was gonna buy a truck.
And then she bought one cash that day.
She was telling me that story.
No, wait, lady, But use the same two years.
A lady she was a lady they, like on this lady is not gonna buy a truck like no one would go up.
No one went out and talked to her.
So how so? All right, So here's my thing in that situation will year Boston rounds that none of you get a commission? Um, no.
I think whoever eventually went out there, you must have had to come in, And then someone talked to her, and then they must have got it.
See, I think that's the case.
There should be no commission, Right? Like if you're sitting there going on, she ain't gonna buy it.
I'm not wasting my time and going out there.
Yeah, sales managers like it's great.
Nice paperwork, no commission.
All right, Because you really you didn't do anything.
She walked in and said, I want to buy that truck in cash.
All right? Did you buy that from your dealership for different dealers? That Yeah. Idealistic.
Don't you still back? It still came back. Yeah.
Did you buy a truck again? No, but an SUV this time.
Yeah, it's no one.
Are those the big ones? Were those like them? The midsize? Now they're the small ones.
Small ones? Yeah.
What's the big Chevy suv? Ah, Tahoe Suburban.
Yeah. Really expensive.
They look a little bit like the escalator, right? Yes.
Do you guys sell Cadillacs on your site? No Cadillacs or absurdly expensive now.
Well, so on Tahoe's the like, 70 grand.
Cadillacs are sort of the expenses, but they're the best car in the world.
Yeah, they're unbelievable.
I love my Cadillac.
It's just I had my switch cars with my wife, and she was a Chevy Equinox.
And I just switched with her.
Like to bring her car to the shop on Monday And just like, I don't know, not being in my Cadillac was just like I knew I wasn't in my Cadillac driving her car like, Well, ****.
Well, Cadillac is the luxury brand from GM.
So equal, equal knocks.
And then what do you have? You have an SUV, right? S Oh, yeah.
It's from various president.
She is the Chevy Equinox, which has to be.
And then I have the Cadillac SRX.
Yeah, in my mind's eye, I think more, but I think mine is actually considered a crossover.
Okay, up because I always say like, Yeah, it's unethical.
It's weird because it sits on a truck frame.
Yep, it's a big V six, but then it's got like, uh, I don't know to me like It's almost like a kind.
It's kind of like a station wagon.
You what I mean, right? Like it almost looks like a station wagon, but it's kind of like a smaller sort of a bigger version of a stage wagon.
That's how I explain the answer ex, but it's got all leather interior.
I mean, Catholics even come without leather.
They all probably not.
Now it's probably learned that throughout I Love like my steering wheel is like wood inlay.
Oh, that's the best.
I had a car back in the day that AdWords steering wheel was awesome.
Yeah, I would steer me like a nice would in lay all around the doors and the dash, and it's a Conoco red.
The only thing it doesn't have it doesn't have the Cadillac clock.
Oh, really? It has it digitally, Aiken.
Go digitally and get it right.
But I don't have the actual like my parents have Acadian.
Their clock is built into their dash.
Right, right mind didn't come, but I like, But I minds all touch screen and computer, and there's a lot of buttons to press right.
I Sometimes I feel like I'm flying an airplane.
There's so many things, I gotta press the Yeah, it's It's so different now, especially even from mechanics.
They have to know all this like technology.
It's a lot different now.
That's what the exactly the shop told me. Every ontological.
That's why I got the extended warranty.
Yeah, he's like just to cover the electrical.
Don't worry about the mechanics and get ******l last forever.
He's like, It's the mechanic.
It's the electrical stuff that's going todo fortune.
In case any of that stuff goes wrong, All right, we're getting our next story, you buddy.
Jackson says that the Patriots cornerbacks are a scary sight to see, I would agree.
So this story comes from pro football talk.
It's Josh Alper, he says. Change.
It has been plentiful on the Patriots defense this offseason, but one position group that was unaffected by the upheaval the Patriots have cornerbacks to fund Gilmore, Yeah, Jason McCord, E J.
Jackson, Jonathan Jones and Juwan Williams.
They're all back for this season.
Gilmore was the defensive player of the year and the group that helped give up the second fewest passing yards in the 2019 season, so their return gives the Patriots reason to think that they can remain strong despite the losses elsewhere.
It also gives Jackson a reason to think that other teams should have some fear When looking their way. It's again.
It's a scary sight, man. End quote.
Devin McCourty is back on safety.
So there's continuity in the secondary beyond the cornerbacks, and the group figures to be the backbone of any defensive plans this season.
So Giertz did, um, had another bad day of practice today.
Yeah. Another whack of interceptions.
I think Cam through a lack of interceptions yesterday.
I think, like combined, they've thrown like 18 20 interceptions in last three days.
Brian Hoyer is probably the only guy who doesn't throw interceptions.
But I got dizzy.
Go against those guys low. He does.
They're all taken.
These guys, they're all taken the same snaps.
Okay, but yes, I got a question cause we talked about this on SportsCastr news yesterday.
And Lord said to me that if he was a Patriots fan, he'd be more concerned if they weren't throwing interceptions.
He said you know you've got a guy brand new to the system.
We've got another guy who was the back of a rookie backup last year, he said, Going up against probably the best secondary in the NFL, right? He said.
Those guys should be throwing Earth should be picking off the ball.
You know, it's a very good point.
So that's the question I wanted to ask you.
I did a lot of talk in the last time I let you do some talking on this subject.
Um, is this should we be concerned about Cam Newton and Jared Cinema at this point, all these interceptions or is this is a statement of sediment to just how good the Patriots secondary really is.
I think that we underestimate how good the secondary really is.
I mean, the secondary has been good a multitude of times.
They've had Darrelle Revis.
I mean, back in the day they add Ty Law.
They had Malcolm Butler, and in my personal opinion, I think step on Gilmore is the best out of all of them.
And then after that they have JC Jackson.
Like you said, they have both of McCord.
He's obviously Devin plays safety.
But I think that they have, like, we were just saying that that secondary in the league, so, like he's like you say in Lawrence's point, is that it would be kind of alarming if one Kim just came here.
They haven't had much time to practice at all.
He I mean, he just signed what in June.
I want to say it was so he didn't He hasn't even had time to really learn the playbook.
And he's going against veterans in the secondary who are light so best in the NFL, pretty much so.
I I'm not too surprised and it's still only practice.
You know what I mean? Practice.
Not a game, not a game practice practice.
Yeah, I think it was.
It was my daughter's birthday weekend, and I'm trying to remember was actually on her birthday.
Her birthday is June 28.
So it was almost July when we ride with the team s so he hasn't had a lot of time to even get acclimated with the place.
And there are I'll tell you one thing I've been really happy to hear about.
I've heard that Kyle Duggar, the guy who is going to be replacing Patrick Chung.
This? Yeah, I've heard that he is playing lights out.
I read that he's had several interceptions themselves.
And this is the guy that a lot of patriot fans when Bill Belichick took him in the second round.
Our first pick of the draft? Yeah, myself included Icon.
Who the hell is Kyle Duggar? You know, no one.
No one was expecting it.
A division to guy, right? Like it's funny after the fact.
All everybody comes on there like, Oh, well, you know, he was starting to go up draft boards and, you know, no f off, no friggin mock draft to know anything.
I hear people go on.
You know what, Kyle Duggar.
Kyle Duggar is the guy.
I mean, either that the patriots are gonna go after, like, get out of here.
You know what I mean? I don't think he was on anyone's radar.
So look, I wasn't overly concerned with Patrick.
Chung opted out right? He missed a lot of games last season with injury, and even when he was playing, he wasn't playing a full capacity.
I think you and I both agreed Dante Hightower was available on a dead run.
The big one, Um, which we will get back to because I so badly wanted to jump on your show yesterday.
And and smart and Ben up to a couple of things the way he was talking.
But what is he saying? Oh, just about how well, first fall he took Buffalo to win the division, and yes, he did.
And then, you know, how are they going to replace High Tower in on all the losses on defense? I wanted to just jump on there and say it was just Hightower.
Yeah, um, the Patriots will be fine everywhere else, and there was a few things I wanted to correct him about, but we'll get into that in a second, but yes, So I you know, I, the Duggars draft pick, was a surprise to a lot of us.
And I think that the fact that he looks like he could be an upgrade from Patrick Chung if what he's doing now in training camp carries over into the season.
Right? At the same time, though, I always say, you know, we love to as fans, as you know as fan ****ysts, is like I like to call what we do.
Fanatic media about the media, but like fan media, you what? I mean, um, we love toe like twisting his way.
We want it, right? So if guys were doing bad in training camp will be like, Hey, it's just training camp.
But if guys are doing really well, we're like, Look, if he carries this over, he's going to be so good when the seasons will forget about John.
Yeah, it works both ways, so we can certainly does.
We gotta take everything with the grain assault, right? That being said, if he can carry over what he's doing now and he can carry that into the season, the secondary will somehow be better.
Yeah, and I think that we might turn around at some point in, say, uh, Patrick who? Right, you know, and I just wonder what, what, what that does to chant John Chung standing on the team heading into next season.
I think the attack will approach him and tell him he needs to take a pay cut or he's on.
I think he just took one day D.
Well, you just did a contract extent with the Patriots, like two months ago.
Great, right? That's fellow checks.
Favorite move, though, is when when he knows that he comes.
Now all of a sudden, they take a pay cut to stay.
Hey, before we get into the Red Stock story, I want to ask you, Did you hear about this possibility? And I'm sorry about yesterday on SportsCastr News.
Did you hear about this possibility of Bill Belichick platooning Stadium and Newton? No.
So he's looking at the possibility of maybe going into the season, platooning his quarterbacks and meaning he's gonna play both of them.
I mean, he's gonna play both.
I didn't hear that.
I guess he didn't say.
I think the media ran without a little bit much.
I I don't think he came out and said, This is for sure, Z.
But I think that what he was saying is is he's not opposed to it.
He's not opposed to the idea.
Wow, thoughts on that.
I don't know if I like it.
I rather just see them stick with one person.
I rather see them say Camas, our guy or stadiums are guy and just go with him.
I don't I don't know.
I don't like the whole back and back and forth.
And the last they came out from Jump Street and said, We're just gonna use Cam as like, a gadget guy.
You know what I did? Almost like, how the what's it called? Uses Hell breeze Oh yeah, the Saints.
Unless the name I'm looking, they used Taysom Hill.
You know what I need? If they came out and said that, then I would be on board.
But other than that, I just want them to pick one guy and the tight the titans of that last year, too, after they switched over to Tannehill's, their starter.
They still brought Mario todo things.
But I'm going to tell you something, man.
And now I did not think New England would be the team that I would be addressing this on or thinking that they could be the forefront right? But I print predicting for months, way before Cam Newton was even a thought process.
I probably started talking about this going back to the draft when the Philadelphia Eagles took Jalen Hurts and Philadelphia's offense does a lot of unique things that I don't think people realize they have a lot of unique play calling and they do some unique stuff.
I think the next progression into NFL offenses is having dual quarterbacks, right? There's a couple of teams like you were saying that that doing it, I mean the same have been doing it regularly for, But I think I think it goes even different.
Further, I think that the next progression of the NFL is having two quarterbacks in the field of same time really in a position to snap the football.
OK, like a wildcat type thing. Almost.
I almost see a running back taking the snap with the two quarterbacks perched behind him.
And when you got guys like Jared Stadium and Cam Newton, who can both run the football like I was just I was thinking about how they could do things right.
So we all know the split back per formation.
So the quarterback is behind centre and he's got two running backs split behind him, right? Yeah, I thought, What if you take a guy like Lamar Miller now? It takes a guy like Lamar Miller to pull this off because of the explosive speed that he has.
James Wight Burke had Harrison Sony Michelle.
They don't have enough speed to pull off this idea, but Lamar Miller does.
You have Lamar Miller lined up under center, is the quarterback, right? He can either run the football himself or he could pitch the ball back to ST, um, to throw the football or to run the football.
Or he can pitch it back to to, ah, Newton to either throw the football or run the football.
And you think an adult and keen they're lined up is like a full back to be a blocker playing on each back position, right? Think about how screwy that would be.
The defense's like you, either.
Okay? You ever got a stop, Miller? Yeah.
Stops did him stop Newton.
Or they could pass or stop the receiver, right? I mean, that would be extremely difficult.
And I thought that we were going to see formations like that with Jalen Hurts and Carson Wentz in Philadelphia this season.
All right, I said that.
I think that will I don't think it's gonna be in every down thing.
You what I mean, But I think that the next I think that that's the next progression in NF because basically everything else has been done right, and it's funny that could be the next thing.
Remember when we were younger? How it would just be like one main running back, and now almost every team out there runs with two guys, at least two or it was like the Patriots have a platoon of foot four razor.
Yeah, there's a few teams where they're like three guys will get the ball.
It's a disaster if you're playing fantasy football, that's trying to figure out who they're going to give it.
But most teams don't pound the ball with one guy anymore, either.
Look, how many teams have quarterbacks on their roster, which are, you know, let's maybe not great, but starting caliber quarterbacks, right? I mean, you got Dallas, who has Dak Prescott and Dull and Andy Dalton, you Ah, Jamis Winston and Jameis.
Winston is a back up this year and Drew Brees and the Saints, you know you've got Jared Stadium and Cam Newton in New England.
You've got Jalen Hurts and Carson Wentz in in Philadelphia.
You've got Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay.
You know, it's you like there's this wasn't a thing before.
You've got Herbert and Tyrod Taylor in Ah, in um l A with the chargers.
You think Taylor is going to get get Ah, booted.
I used to have all the faith, and I used to be like a Tyrod Taylor defender yet.
And he has let me down so much in my life, right that I cannot defend him anymore.
OK, that's fair.
Um, Joe not DP and Joe, but Joe, new beau from SportsCastr News.
Yeah, he is a ton of faith And Tyrod Taylor.
Really? He believes that Tyrod is actually gonna eat that he has a chance of bringing the charges to the playoffs.
I mean, I don't think he's bad.
He all But Joe also thinks that the Ravens are gonna go 16 you know? Okay, so I'd be shocked if that happens.
Yeah, and the other thing about Joe is to that he was gonna think of the great assaults.
Tyrod Taylor was originally a raven.
And anybody over war rave in Jersey is a future Hall of Famer.
Their preferential I got you.
All right, So we're down to our last 20 minutes already, buddy.
Wow. I know it's lie by.
So I want to get into this Red Sox story.
Yeah, uh, this comes from fan cited from the both socks junction or both socks, injunction injection, but more water.
Red Sox trade rumors on Xander Bogaards continue to circulate.
The Boston Red Sox may be open to trading Zander Bogart's I'm saying that, right? Right.
A perfect trading storm is being formed with the combination of a lousy team, expensive contracts and players with value to the Boston Red Sox that may actually be going north rather than South B s.
I has had opinion pieces on J. D.
Martinez and just about everyone else.
High profile is noted by resident by Red Sox President Sam Kennedy.
The Red Sox have shown no reluctance for sending players elsewhere.
As noted with the departure of Mookie Betts, the latest rumors that seemed to have developed a life of its own is regarding Zander Bogart's.
Now this is going to come into the whole details behind it.
This is get is actually really interesting to me, right? Bogart signed a six year, $120 million extension that covers from 2020 to 2025 with a possible option for 2026.
Bogart's also has an interesting no trade provisions that kicks in at seven years of service time, which falls just after the August 31st trade deadline allow.
And that was, according to Ken Rosenthal, the Athletics.
Boger also now has the standard opt out clause that he can exercise in 2022.
Okay, so that's an interesting contract to me, and we'll go on with the story more, but very so it's contracts 2022 2025.
Yep, he's got a no trade clause after the August 31st trade deadline and he can opt out in 2022 Jesus.
So if they did trade him, it'll be that somebody is just trying to win this year basically well, yeah, but then they would still have him for 2021 for next year, right? But then 2022 he could say, See you later.
He could opt out.
You do? That's the Red Sox as well, right? Bogart's is a three time Silver Slugger Award winner in a two time All Star at just 27 years old.
Bull guards should be in the baseball longevity sweet spot of his best core years.
If 2019 is an indicator with 33 home runs, 117 R B I's and 309 batting average, there may be similar statistical accomplishments for the life of a relatively team friendly contract, which it is.
It is that so why trade Bogart's? The reason is not that complicated, considering the condition of the team they need pitching that is young and controllable, but that pitching must be an upside, since all that has been rolled to the bump this season is a downside.
The loss of Bogaards would certainly put another dent in the Red Sox offense, an offense that has shown limited traction compared to the juggernauts of the past.
The apparent replacement for Bogart's on the roster are Jose Parade Peraza Baraza, Jonathan Reus.
Yep, I like that kid.
He just came up and zoo.
We listen to Zululand, who's been around forever to zoo, went to Xue Lan.
Yet Lynn, I do not see any silver sluggers or Gold Glove awards in their future.
Digging into the Red Sox less than ventured minor league system has two possibilities, with the first being the two ranked prospects Jeter Downs, acquired in the bets.
Just projected as a second base possibility.
But Short is not being ruled out.
Downs and fellow shortstop CG Chad Amar in the player pool and could be seeing playing time as the team further disintegrates.
The free agent smokers board offers the usual selection, with slick infielder Anderton's Simmons being on the options.
Former Red Sox shortstop Jose Iglesias maybe available depending on an option being exercised.
Here's an interesting one.
D D Gregorius also is a potential possibility.
Okay, but expect Simmons and a glorious to be a bit pricey.
The various is with the Phillies right now.
I think Great beauty, I think or say So.
What? The Yankees? I thought it would you still think Yankees? Maybe I'm mistaking.
I think he's injured right now.
Is he? Did he come from the Phillies to the Yankees? I'd have to Look, Let me look at it.
I'm not sure the d I'm sure he wouldn't be.
You would still be.
He would still be expensive.
So I don't know why you David, Looks like a switch hand.
You know what you mean? D d Gregorius? Maybe is filling. Maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe I made that up.
No, he is. Philadelphia is right.
I thought I saw him the other day.
When you're playing, I thought for a second.
I'm like, When do you go to the Phillies? This year.
Yeah, It must have been this year.
The other baby. When the Red Sox are playing in the other day.
So he's gonna be a free agent.
Um, that said, the Red Sox, with luxury tax reset and some available cash may have they may have to spend, but the annual value would be still be lasting.
Bogart's The next few days will be dramatic for the Red Sox and shine bloom as trying bloom attempts to rebuild the team.
The loss of bull guards would certainly have public relations ramifications coming off the heels of bets departure.
But time will tell, and sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make.
All right, so again.
I love talking Red Sox with you become not a Red Sox fan, so I think I come at it from a unbiased way of thinking.
But how the hell did the Boston Red Sox trade away? Xander Bogaerts? Unless they get a boat load of talent and somebody is just willing to sell the farm to try and win this season, they just can't do it because they're not going to replace it.
And two of the people will tell you right out the bet.
Peraza is never going to replace him, and Lynn is never going to replace him.
Both of these guys have been around for a while.
Lin has gone from Pawtucket to the Red Sox protectors of the Red Sox for the past three years in a row.
He's just never going to come close to filling bull guards.
Peraza has been in the league for a while.
He's never going to do it.
The kids are a ruse.
I think it is who just came up.
He looks pretty good.
I actually like him, but I still as faras feeling Xander Bogaerts is shoes.
I don't see that happening either, so I I don't know why they wouldn't get rid of them.
Especially when they just signed him.
And as much money as he's making.
He could have made Mawr if you went out and really shopped around.
So he kind of gave the Red Sox a bit of a hometown discount.
Yeah. I mean, what then? Reason? Yeah, he did.
He could have got more money on the open market.
I think five years, 120 million is not a lot of money.
Major league baseball, especially when you're as good as he is.
Because they're What did Mookie Betts has signed for? For, like, a trillion dollars or something, you know, But okay, as a Red Sox fan, how mad would you be? You got Mookie Betts tearing it up, and it's Angeles tearing it up in Los Angeles.
Bets is on this team this year.
You guys might have an extra five wins.
Like I mean, I really think that's what his war could have been for the Sox team.
Um, like, how mad would you be? A Bogart's got traded away at the trade deadline.
I'd be pretty ****ed, cause honestly, I like bull guards and shortstop is such an important position.
You have to have somebody who is consistently good and he's been so consistently good, like his fielding.
I feel like it's so underrated.
He makes every clay.
I feel like he barely makes any errors.
He makes every play we need him to make, and then he hits, too.
So why would we get rid of somebody who's already really good already performing? We have him tied up for being a minimum until 2022.
Hopefully until 2025 like what? What point would be to get rid of him when we're not going to replace him with the other guys? I don't think, and he's only 27 years old, all right, You guys can rebuild and still have him in his prime.
That's the whole That's my whole thing.
Trading him now to rebuild the Rebuild, but we need some people to rebuild around.
Yeah, and to me, he should be one of those staple pieces.
All right, so if you had to pick two Staples on the Red Sox right now that you have build around bull guards would be one old guys and who would be the other.
Martinez, but he's a little bit older, and he's I think he basically already is already a d h.
Probably at the past, I have to say, Rafael Devers.
Devers? Yeah, cause Devers is so young, and he has so much like raw potential, he's not doing hot this year when he was unreal last year.
How old is Devers? Really, Really, really young, Like 22? I want to say 23 may be at the oldest.
I feel like and in baseball when they're performing at that age, right, that just shows out good.
Use a little kid.
Yeah, he'll still be 23 the rest of season.
24 to October's, right? So he was 22 last years hammering it out.
So that's what I'm saying.
So you're gonna have 23 year old Rafael Devers, your 27 year old Zander Bowl guards who are good friends, still good friends, players, good players that, uh, I mean, I don't watch the Red Sox religiously, and I knew the Red Sox it from I'm gonna be honest with you.
I knew the Red Sox because of Mookie Betts.
Xander Bogaerts, right? You know, that's what I knew.
The Red Sox ads. Yeah.
Um, I was shocked when you guys when the Red Sox traded Muecke bats.
I was dumbfounded by that.
By that move, Um, unless they really saw this season coming and for maybe at what they thought.
What's the point? He's not gonna want to sign with us, but told his bets.
I feel like he's probably support 27.
Like you could have had your core three of Rafael Devers.
Yeah, the Red Sox have the cash capital.
They always leave. They always have.
It's on a soccer team.
They're gonna soccer team.
And then John Henry owns the Boston Globe. They'll be fine.
One of the other guys that's, like, apart on our own stood milk.
They got everything.
So you pay the luxury tax and you buy a couple of young pitchers that are good.
That air coming on their first into free agency.
You pay that you over.
Pay them a little bit, you know. Don't pull.
See? This is where I have always said the New York Yankees screwed up like people will start with the Yankees.
They buy the championships, right? The New York Yankees don't buy pitching, and when they do, they make mistakes.
They buy like a J.
Burnett, right? You know, pay big money for a Jaber matter, Or like a washed up CC Sabathia.
Yeah, like it's, you know, but they love to overspend on Alex Rodriguez.
A leftover spent on Giancarlo Stanton.
You know, like they love to quote just by these big power hitters and then have no pitching to back them up whatsoever.
Were like, the Red Sox have, like, a history of, uh, buying.
Curt Schilling is awesome.
Josh Beckett was awesome.
Yeah, showing just got arrested today.
Wait, Did he You didn't hear about that.
What did you dio? I didn't really something about fraud.
I didn't really get to see the whole story.
He's in real trouble.
World Series hero Curt Schilling served on the board of the Bannon border wall group.
Oh, is that that was the thing that I think I did see something about that today.
What was he doing, boys? We read it.
It's supposedly doing.
Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks World Series hero Curt Schilling sits on the advisory board of We Built the Wall, the Border Wall Group at the centre of Steve Bannon's arrests.
I didn't know that was a thing, though.
Maybe he didn't get arrested.
Maybe he says he just sits on the board.
Ah, that's far away.
Bannon President Trump, President Donald Trump's former top strategist and campaign manager, was indicted Thursday on federal fraud charges.
Officials arrested Bannon on board a $35 million hell are tough.
The coast of Westbrook, Conn.
He and three others were charged with embezzling funds of $25 million fundraising campaign to build a wall along the southern border of the United States.
Okay, there's there's fund raising for that, by the way, why is that a thing? I don't know, but because there's people out there that believe in it, I guess I was going like crazy today, trying to find the Karen of the day.
Yeah, and every care that came up was just like some racist rant about somebody.
Schilling was not arrest that I apologize to the bad reporting.
Schilling is not charged in the scheme.
Prosecutors claim that Bannon accepted over accepted more than $1 million from the organization that raised more than $17 million via go fund me during the first week of fundraising, a December 2018.
These guys are rich anyways, right? So Curt Schilling, who? I think like he can't go to, like the state of California or something like that because he's got a lawsuit there over video games, right? Yeah.
He went bankrupt over it.
Yeah, and he screwed over a company.
There's, like a lawsuit, like a bench warrant out for him somewhere.
But he sat on a board.
He was the president of a board to raise money to build a wall along Mexico.
He needs to get some to do in retirement.
Man, you gotta have a better way to do better.
Better things to do with your time, right? You know, he's like the James Woods of the sports world. Yeah.
Have you ever watched James like seen James Woods on Twitter now? Oh, he is, son.
You know James Woods is right.
The actor is he What's he from? I heard it so stark.
Family guy ****ks him all the time.
He does? OK, OK, I look family guy.
So he's the one that's always like, uh, G uh, Here, let me try to see they have specific people that they always mess with you at James Woods. Like Barry Manilow.
I'm pretty sure James Woods is like he actually does the voice here.
I'm gonna share my screen.
I found pictures of him.
Okay, that's James Woods.
You're I know exactly.
God bless you. Thank you.
I was trying to hit the mute point and I couldn't get there in time.
That's all right.
I was plastering or sanding all the plaster and my renovated my kitchen.
So I was like sanding plaster after work today.
And I'm just like they had breathing it, and I'm full of sawdust now are full.
James would is like the friggin biggest trump supporter in the celebrity world.
And he got like, you get suspended from Twitter for a while, but I don't know why they needed this fundraising group.
I thought I thought money that was gonna pay for the wall.
I thought China Waas.
Well, he's like that.
They're gonna build a wall of Mexico was gonna pay for it.
Yeah, we're gonna win.
Alright, guys, it looks like we're not gonna be able to get to our fourth story, which I should have known better, man, because I wanted to.
So we'll do this the next time because it will still be topical.
It's not like it's eso who will be the NFL's next dynasty, so I promise we will coming out on Tuesday.
Now I have time to thank.
Yeah, so think about that.
I'll send you the article, actually, so you can do a bit of a re.
I should do that.
Many of the articles that had a times a bit of a read.
I'll do that going for it.
I usually pick that day off, all right, But I will.
I will send them to you as we get them.
Um, so we will start with that next on Tuesday.
I'll put that right in my notes right now that we're going to start with that article, we should go.
And the reason I'm skipping and going to the caring of the day is because I think this one would have got into a bigger, deeper conversation that we could get into.
So I apologize. Every for that.
We've never gotten a four stories ever on this show.
I was trying very ambitious.
A I don't think we die aggress that much either, I think.
Really? Yeah. Pretty good.
A pretty pretty state, of course. Yeah.
So let's look at the carrot of the day.
So, dude, this is the most work I put into the Karen of the day.
All right, I got to tell you, this is the most work I put into the care of the day.
Um, I find that there it's a lot of repeats now.
Okay, We're seeing a and even the ones that we haven't seen before.
Yeah, they're not funny.
They're sent a letter. Ones we've seen, I similar.
We've seen just meaner.
Right? So this, I think, goes back a while ago, I could be wrong.
It goes back to July 2019.
So last year, um, this is actually like a care in revenge.
So someone actually got revenge on a care.
And this is a woman who is I think her mother died and all their family is checking into a hotel, and it's got a little belligerent in here.
See? You can hear that.
Yeah, I got called a *** by this.
I caught a bigger by this lady who will be arriving in 10 minutes.
So I'm just Yeah, play with it.
I don't get activity like this.
And just like the day time in my life ever being called the New Years, this should be you called me a ***.
You're my mother died.
I understand that.
But you call me if you want.
When you say that on the final this is there was no climate that we live in today.
Beside you understand it.
But it's above me now.
I need a Well, there's the best western next door.
Please let me hear my daughters here.
I'm sorry, but I was on the phone when you said it.
I said I'm so please, I had a hard and I had a horrible time one here in that.
Me and it's above me.
She called me a ****ing ***.
My grandma just I understand that, but it's above me.
Please let me. It's above me.
So the next western, His next door, sir.
The rest of our human.
I understand that. But it's above me.
Please understand that she's e great.
I thought he did Great, E.
I thought that too.
I thought you handled that so well. Yes.
You know, that is the best reaction.
Because you could have You could have sunk to their level rail and then how to fight That never works, though, You know what I mean? Hey, actually got back at them this way.
And I know there's people out there better sitting there right now.
Going Look, her mother just died.
Yeah, she she used a racial slur against the guy.
Right? Dude, anything.
You wanna any final thoughts on anything? Um, before we signed out, we got about a minute time seconds, anything.
You any final thoughts and a leeway into next week? I think the patriots still have a chance to the dynasty.
Okay, tell you that, but let's let that linger.
Let's let the people percolate.
They're gonna ask you online on Twitter.
Don't give them anything.
