and see a Madam Virgin, Founder of the Black play by play broadcaster Grant and Scholarship Fund.
I worked in minor league baseball since 2010 and I am currently a radio broadcaster for the Yankees Airplay affiliate in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
The Rail riders In my decade in minors, I've never once calm Acosta black broadcaster and the nationwide protests as a backdrop.
I wanted to make sure that I was making a tangible difference in my little corner of the world.
So for me, that's play by play broadcast.
One of the biggest barriers to entry in broadcasting and to stay in broadcasting is the incredibly low pet.
And I didn't make more than $1200 a month until my third season in Double A with the Trenton Thunder, and by then I had already taken jobs that paid me 608 $100,000 a month without benefits without health insurance for a six month season.
So there are too many people without the financial safety net that I was afforded who couldn't make that work for one summer, much less 234 summers.
And even with the Yankees Triple A affiliate I made under $2000 among working every single day for them in my early thirties over a six month season.
And still that was without health insurance.
So having said all that, the initial goal was to gather enough support from current Miley broadcasters to raise $3000 for a grant.
That's $500 a month over a six month season.
That would help elite the financial burden for a young black broadcaster taking his or her first seasonal job in baseball.
Now the amazing news is that after a beyond successful Twitter campaign, the money raised so far has been in excess of $3000 and it's actually been in excess of $25,000.
And because of that, the baseball grant will be just a small part of this initiative.
What else has developed is now a framework for a scholarship program that will help current undergrads pursuing play by play and also the framework for a mentorship program which will include the dozens of professional broadcasters who want to make an impact on the next generation.
And now, with the support of the SportsCastr community, we look forward to raising even more money towards the scholarship fund with your help.
Absolutely right, Adam.

I let him mentioned the grant and scholarship on have surpassed initial expectations.
