the co host, Lawrence O N from Colts Lock.
Oops. Sorry, wasn't supposed never.
Anyway, um, tomorrow guys, big news coming out from college football.
And maybe you're not used to us talking about college from hell, because, quite frankly, I speak for myself here, but I don't really watch college football that much. I know. I understand.
You know, I always get a lot of flak for this.
How can you be a football fan yet? You don't watch college football? What's wrong with you? But you know, Lawrence is the same man.
He's, you know, he's also a big football fan.
And he told me that, you know, he doesn't really watch college football that much as well.
So I'm I really get in the college football is once college football's over.
I start breaking down tape of college players.
I'm the same, you know, and it's not.
I enjoy doing that.
I enjoy watching the you know the games, but But I don't know.
I like to be able to focus on a certain player, and you know what I'm looking for, but I don't know.
It's just tough to to follow.
I think maybe people that actually go to the colleges, That's you know they want to support the team.
Or if you have a favorite team, I'm sure it's a lot easier for you to watch.
But you effort for me personally.
I don't know. I'm not a big watcher of it.
However, this does affect the NFL.
Lawrence, Right? We were talking about this because this means that the draft is gonna be a little bit crazy.
Because if there's no football, we're gonna have to rely on, you know, pretty much last year's take, right? And I mean, as of right now, you are mentioning it, Lawrence, that Trevor Lawrence himself obviously has been fighting.
He wants to play this season.
But I wanted to make the argument that maybe that wouldn't be the best idea for Trevor Lawrence himself because he is considered the number one overall pick already, you know? But what if he goes into this season and he has a little bit of a down here? He could fall.
He What if he gets injured? You know, I'm just saying it like that.
The example that I brought up was to, uh he was considered the number one overall pick for sure.
And then Joe Borough came in and became that number one pick, so I don't know.
I'm just saying for Trevor Lawrence himself, it could, you know, this could actually benefit him, not playing a season.
But what's your overall thoughts on this, Lawrence, how do you feel about this? Well, I understand where you're coming from.
On the whole, you know, Might have a down year or injury, but you also gotta remember he he plays on a team with a bunch of other guys.
He probably has a lot of faith in those guys.
And he believes that, you know, a college year.
Ah, good season for them guys.
You know, that might be around him that are, like, really close friends.
That eight on radar is really too much.
You might be able to help help them get on the radar by playing well and kind of targeting them a little bit.
Or, you know, uh, focusing on the run game a little bit more for them.
You know what? Their offensive line or something like, Hey, you know, I love my right guard or something like that.
I really like him to get a little bit more national.
Older? Um, yeah, I get it.
But just like the tweet that Joe Borough had about Trevor Lords, he's like, Hey, you know, had this been last year? I mean, I may be looking for work right now.
Had had it been canceled last year because no one really know I was, you know, And now he ends up being the number one overall pick because it was played.
So yeah, I I get the huge implications now, I believe you would still have a combine, but I think the combine would be a little bit different event because a lot of people like, Well, Kobe's still around, You know, during April of next year, then there won't be a combine blah, blah, blah.
I think they're still would be.
I think that they would do it very similar kind of a bubble situation where they would bring in so many players each and every day.
Kind of like a, uh, keeping only so many people in one area.
You know, you might have multiple combines in multiple cities.
Yeah, you know, that way you don't have so many people in one area at one time, and you could kind of keep exposure down a little bit.
Yeah, and I wonder if maybe you'll actually see a direction towards more football drills, Right? Because that's one of my biggest complaints about the combine is that it's more so a test of your athleticism and not necessarily like how you play on the field.
So maybe this could actually be a good thing for these college players.
I mean, you know, obviously it's not a good thing that they don't get to play, but I'm talking about the combine.
It could be more entertaining for us as viewers to watch if you actually get to see legit football drills.
Um, so you know, that's one of those aspects.
But yet that's that's definitely a good point that I didn't necessarily think of was the combine.
Um, but yeah, this this definitely effects, you know? I mean eso again if you're if you're like me or us and you don't really necessarily watch college football the Big 10 in the Pac 12 let me just let me tell you, the teams that are in both of these conferences, right? So, um for the Pac 12.
You have Arizona.
Arizona State s you? You have, um UCB.
You have u C l A.
You have University of Colorado ball.
Boulder, University of Oregon.
Oregon State University, University of Southern California, USC Big school.
You know, a lot of these schools a lot of players get drafted from University of Utah, University of Washington, and Washington State University is the Pac 12.
So you know, I mean, that's Sanford huge.
They've had a lot of players over the last 10 years come out of Stanford.
On top of that, you have the Big 10 and this is even more.
I mean, you know, Indiana, Maryland is another school.
Michigan, Michigan State, the Ohio State University.
You know how many players get drafted from that team? So Penn State is another one.
Rutgers, Uh, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern University, Purdue, Wisconsin.
So, yes, none of these teams play man.
That's that's a lot of players come out of that.
A lot of players come out of that conference, but I want to bring something up.
This is what's confusing me because I'm sitting here reading an article you know where it says? Well, Big 10 is not, You know, they decided not to play.
But then you get this little side note that says, Well, Nebraska says they still want to, and they're gonna find a way to do it anyhow.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Look what I've been.
I was just possible.
That's like your boss saying we're shutting down for this season.
The company will not be working, and then you're like, I don't care.
Are still better figure out a way to get the word, you know? Oh, I'm gonna be there.
I'm gonna run it by myself.
Yeah, I e I get that.
They think that, you know, um I mean, they're still three big places.
You still got the big 12 the SEC in the A.
C C. That still has yet to announce.
And the SEC and the A C.
Both say they want to play, and they're waiting on the big 12 to make their decision.
The big 12 come out and said they want to play, but are still doing there investigations into it to see if it will be safe in the form.
Yeah, so? So I got to say, man.
I mean, football is supposed to start in less than a month, literally, in September 10th and today's August 11th.
So we're in the final stretch.
Um, I just I don't know how this is gonna work.
I mean, we're already seeing obviously all these sports not being played or, you know, extra precautions being taken again.
How are we supposed to expect these guys to play a contact sports? Uh, with no issues, man, I just I don't know how they're going to do it.
I don't know how they're going to do it.
But I want to bring up one specific thing.
Yeah, that Nebraska did specifically say And in a way, I kind of believe And I understand what they're saying.
They're saying that their, uh they said we are very disappointed in decision of the Big 10 Conference to postpone the ball football season, and we have been and continue to be ready to play.
They say state becomes first.
But with the conversations that we have had with our medical experts, we continue to strongly believe absolute the absolute safest place for our student athletes is within the rigorous safety protocols, testing procedures and structure and support provided by the Nebraska Husker athletics that they believe that the safest place for them to be is in a football bubble of their own.
You know, rather than being out, you know, among other students, or are among the populace.
So I mean, if colleges can bubble their own athletes, Yeah, then, sure.
But how are you going to get 18 to 24 year old kids? Do not go out and intermingle with other 18 and 24 year old kids? Exactly.
You have a hard enough time getting professional adults to do this.
I mean, go that, like Zeke and all of them, you know, they're out partying and having fun and stuff like that.
And the next thing you know, you know the next thing you know, they're, you know, Oh, we got covert issues and they go well, come back, there's there's more players on a college football team.
Then there are a professional football team right by by a large margin.
So we got to remember that.
And on top of that, the professionals they have a few staff members and coaches.
They deal with, but they're on.
They're on a campus with tens of thousands of other student.
You can't I understand wanting to play.
But I think that I just don't see how it's safe for the college players to do it, because if one college player gets it, they come in and they just don't have the money.
They don't have the money to buy the equipment so that the NFL professional teams have went out and got to be as safe as they are.
Yeah, and I mean, like well, like we were also talking about is that this also can affect guys that are coming into their senior year and they really having gone to show what they got yet because you see a lot of these college players that in their senior year when they're about to get drafted, is really when they start, you know, they get a lot of snaps just to show what they can do.
You no receivers, a lot of receivers.
That's the situation that they're put into running backs as well.
Like you mentioned Lawrence, um you know, like for example, maybe the Colts wouldn't have gotten Michael Pittman if there wasn't a season, right? Most likely not because that was his breakout season, Right? Catches he had in his junior year was way low.
I think he had 52 total catches throughout his entire, uh, sop****re through junior season.
And then he blew up, you know, in a senior year, right? So I don't know.
I mean, there's probably gonna be a lot of projecting in next year's draft because they're like, Oh, this guy, You know, he had, like, for 300 yards.
But look, look how he did this, and he could probably get, like, 1000 years, so I don't know that it's gonna be uninterested ing.
Ah, you know, situation for sure.
Both. Yeah, definitely.
But man, I wish we had Ray here because, you know, he actually is a college football fan.
He is a fan of Vinny.
I don't know if you're gonna watch the replay or whatever.
Um, so he would definitely have a lot more to say, but unfortunately, he couldn't make it today.
But I mean, yet it's a crazy situation, and ah, you know, I mean, not much else to say there at least I don't have anything else to say about.
So how about you? Well, looks, Let's look at it.
What if they do cancel, like all of college decides not to play football? Well, cause they said that they're they're planning to push it till January, I think is what it said. There.
There, there, there, warning.
And then reevaluate in January and then maybe play a spring season.
Would that be like like the MBA is doing, You know, a shortened quick season.
You know, maybe five or six games get to look at a few players and then maybe, ah, have a draft a little bit later, You know, maybe closer to June or something, you know, I mean, that's that's something that you could look into if you believe that that is more viable than what we have right now.
Otherwise, basically, you got a bunch of guys college kids that are going to be extra red shirted.
You're gonna Teoh.
I mean, that's basically what's gonna happen.
And And what about those guys that that our seniors and they're gonna get their their diplomas and stuff this season and their degrees? And next thing you know they're out of school.
They can't play to push themselves up there.
That's not part of them at all.
It's definitely not.
It is these guys that have pretty much spent there.
I don't want to say entire life, but I mean, since you're a kid had said, You know what? I want to play football professionally.
I'm going to dedicate my life to that to that.
But then, you know, they just never got the snaps.
They never got playing time, and they just don't get drafted.
Maybe they're lucky and they get picked up by a team.
But you know, it's it might not be that likely.
So they're gonna have to start looking into other, you know, careers or other jobs.
So it Yeah, man, it's it's It's a crappy situation and I can definitely see why.
A lot of college players do you want to play for sure, I will say this.
I will say that when it comes, if you have played, even if you didn't get a lot of playing time.
If you have played previously to this year, there is at least tape on you.
Scouts have seen you because scouts, when they go out, they don't just look for for guys that are coming out this year.
They're looking for future players as well.
You know, they're watching.
They're like, Oh, man, right, this guy's name down.
I'm not the Watch him for the next couple of years, that kind of situation.
So that is, that's a big benefit.
But when you got quarterbacks that have been sitting behind, you know the starters and waiting on them to be drafted or move on so that they could step up in their senior year or running backs or wide receivers, as you say, you know that just have not had any opportunity to play hurt since so bad got this is their senior year.
They had very little snaps, and now they're not gonna be able to play.
So and only so many people can have, um, be invited to a combine in the first place.
Right? So maybe maybe we have extended pro days, right? Maybe we have pro base for an entire team that is graduating that year, and they legitimately have, like, what you're talking about, you know, a bunch of three on threes.
Five on 57 on seven type competition.
We tried, Ah, for scouts to sit there ago.
Alright, I kind of like what he's doing.
And I like his measurements and what he's able to do and blah blah ball, I think, because to be fair, there's a lot of players that don't shine until they get to the Senior Bowl, right? You have the Senior Bowl and they go in, they get their invitations and they play and they jump.
There's a lot of people that junk in the ranks.
That's when every basically Oh, did you see him in the Senior Bowl? That's that's what really gets serious.
Yep, yeah, so maybe maybe they'll hold like, ah, bunch of those type of games, you know, at the end of the season.
That way it cuts back a lot of stuff, but they're still ableto play.
Ah ah, few of those games in the spring early spring and at least give them a chance to be seen by scouts.
I mean, that's that's the biggest thing.
And yeah, it's it's It's a tough situation.
We see Lawrence drinking his mountain Dew man.
I got my my bearer my dosek, ease.
Cheers to you, Lawrence.
Yeah, green bottle.
I mean, different liquids.
But anyway, eso Yeah, it sucks.
And again, like the most fun thing for me to do after the season is over is just to put on some tape of some.
You know, receivers is one of my main things, because the Ravens always need a receiver.
Seems like every single year, so I always default to the receivers.
But, you know, I love watching defensive lineman.
I love watching the linebackers.
I'm a big defensive guy.
So what a long snappers.
You know, you gotta wait that long, Pepper, But no.
Yeah, so Yeah, it kind of sucks.
I mean, I guess you're still gonna have from last year's tape, which is fine, but, you know, I prefer I don't know.
I just prefer to see what happened over this past season.
Like what? What have you done for me lately? That's that's kind of that's kind of how I feel about it.
Well, yeah, because I mean, um, we're all human beings.
And as as humans, seriously, I mean, men physiologically, they don't become prime until they hit 2122 which is that that level that spot where you graduate that final year of college.
So, um, your junior year might look completely different than what you look like in your senior year.
Just just a busy physical standpoint.
Yeah, but sometimes it's the other way around.
You have a really good junior year, and then you come out of your senior year and you don't look as good.
So this could benefit those guys that had a really good junior year and then, you know, and then over down.
So and then and then they come into college and you have completely flat out. Yeah.
And they're like, Well, if he can play like he did in his junior year, then he'll be a beast.
You hear that A lot from you know? Yeah.
You from Bengals fence? Probably.
No, but so anyway, yeah, I think the job borough thing is interesting because, like you said, he tweeted out that if you didn't play last season, you know, might not even be in gun drafted, So that is definitely a crazy factor just to think about.
He was probably projected 1/6 round pick to go from that to the number one overall pick in one college season.
Um, you know that that could Ah, that could happen for a lot of players and might legitimately the very next.
Calvin Johnson could be a senior this year.
Yeah, I didn't get to play much as a junior, right? Exactly.
So, yeah, it sucks, man.
It really does suck.
And again, not necessarily because we watch college football during the season, but I just want to see the tape after that's.
That's why I'm kind of frustrated, but oh, yeah, definitely.
And I will let everyone know.
The reason why I don't watch a lot of college football during the season is because it's at the same time that the NFL and my focus is on the NFL during that season.
And I am putting ah, 100% of my time and effort in the watching film breaking film down of the NFL games during that season and bring out content and because that's my job, you know, So I don't have a lot of time spare time that, you know, three hours this day, three hours that day to sit here and watch Nebraska vs Wisconsin.
Right Love, too.
That'd be great if I had an extra 24 hours in a day, but I don't know.
Yeah, that's why most of my time is spent on the film Warm film work after the seasons are over.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
I don't have that excuse on just on Saturdays.
You know, I like to relax and let's spend it with my family usually.
So I'm just College football is not a priority for me in my household, but you know, when it comes to NFL football, Oh, everybody else, you know you don't matter.
It's on Lee football time, and that's that.
Sunday is my day.
That's what's important for me.
But this to NFL fans, though, if college does completely kickoff, what are your thoughts on moving? Ah, bunch of 14 o'clock games to Saturday for the NFL if they stated to make them or open primetime kind of watching games for a lot of teams that don't really get a lot of national explosion? Yes, so we've talked a little bit about this before, and, you know, I've been saying it.
I don't hate the idea. I like the idea.
Have you know, just because just a man in your weekends over.
It's Friday and then, Oh, guess what? There's NFL football tomorrow, right? So that I I love it.
And especially the idea of having some maybe some smaller market teams that don't always get primetime games.
They get maybe one every season.
You get to see, you know, a team play like the Colts are probably going to be pretty good this season as we've been talking about.
So the Colts don't always get that primetime light.
Especially since they don't have Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck anymore.
So they haven't really gotten those those primetime slots, So yeah, I mean, I would I personally definitely would not hate that.
I think Ray wasn't too big of a fan of it for whatever reason.
Um, but yeah, I mean, what he said, just put a game every day of the week. Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know.
But, you know, I wouldn't hate that if they wanted to do.
I mean, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, I'd be down for that four days a week.
Heck, yeah, yeah, I think that's that's That's great.
I mean, what what do ever There's a reason why there's football on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
I mean, that's the weekend.
Guys want to sit back and relax.
That Friday's generally high school colleges generally Saturday NFL's generally Sunday.
If there's not gonna be high school.
Yep, screw it. Drop drop.
Couple NFL games on share.
A little bit night, you know.
And then same was Saturday have, Ah, noon and four o'clock in the NATO game on Saturdays.
That way, you'll get ratings off, get your radio and go through all of your NFL teams.
That's something that will be huge.
That'll actually help the NFL make up a lot of lost revenue, right? Because you'll get more people watching games and they'll be ableto make up some of this lost revenue from from people not being in the stands so college does not play.
It could actually benefit the NFL and help with the cap hit that they're expecting to happen the next three years.
Because you know, lots of seats in the loss of seats this year, they're expecting, Ah, $3 billion revenue hit in orderto make that up there, hitting every NFL team with a $25 million cap it, and they're going to split it up for the next three years.
3 million per team for the next three years on a cap it, and there's teams that just can't really afford that, like your king. Baltimore.
You know, Baltimore handle that.
Kansas City is not going to be able to handle that.
San Francisco Cowboys.
You know, I'm so if they're ableto get out some more revenue from because most of their money is from from merch and from commercials on games, right? And if they're able tohave an extra game on Friday and three extra games on Saturday, you know that are basically prime time.
You know, that's the only thing that's being shown.
So there's gonna be a lot more viewers than a lot more commercials, a lot more revenue in there that could really help all the teams on that cap hit in the future.
Yeah, the only thing that I would be concerned about is that I mean, we already get a crap ton of commercial, so I think we're gonna get even mawr.
They're gonna double the commercials, and it's gonna be terrible.
Oh, after every snap From now we got out.
Let's take a quick 15 2nd commercial break.
You know, here's here's this.
This snap is brought to you by, you know, Chip blame or something.
I could see them.
Very something like that, man, You know this stuff? This is the ball Got past the guard a lot.
Break for Budweiser.
I'm sure the NFL would do something like that just to get that extra money, man, because you know they are.
I mean, and they're already talking about, you know, topping.
What? The first, right, Rose.
And then that tarp is going to be adverti*****ts for companies to try to help make up some of the lost money, Right? So yeah, sure, Yes.
It's gonna be a crazy season.
I mean, I'm still excited.
You know, I don't think that all these, um factors are necessarily going to change my excitement because I've been excited for football for so long.
You know, even when the whole virus started, I'm still like, Well, as long as there's football, be okay, I can survive.
But I don't know if the Ravens still sitting at, ah, seating capacity of 16,000 of season.
As far as I know, they haven't really come out with anything else.
I think it was 14,000 actually, so Oh, really? Yeah, I know. The Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Colts are sitting at 25% capacity is what they're gonna hold that.
And that is the maximum that the NFL in NFL p a l out are really So So they're gonna hold.
They'll hold close to about 20,000.
Okay, so that's yeah.
I mean, it's it's not that bad, you know, But But here's the thing, Um, also looking at, uh, the the V I.
P sits with the top, you know, we're behind the glass and stuff.
Apparently, they could still hold that.
And you have to have, uh, maximum 10 people per room.
You know, when they have to do the whole six foot thing and have masks on and stuff like that.
But except for probably owners who could just sit there and just be like the room's mine. I don't work.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They're probably gonna boost ticket prices.
They're probably gonna boost, you know, concession.
Um, beer is gonna be like $30.
You know, just for one.
I don't know what they're going to do, but I'm gonna be watching from, you know, comfortable in my house and, you know, not having to worry about any of that.
So Oh, I'm all look to try to get to a game or two, but I don't know if I'll be able Teoh, I'm on try.
Tickets are gonna be so hard to come by.
Yeah, you know, you got some of them.
Some of them, like you say, some of them not gonna have any people there at all, like New York's.
Platt said the Giants games, right.
Uh, so that's but to be fair, only a small portion of the NFL revenue comes from actual seating.
Granite hits with the concessions in the merchandise sales while they're there.
But the bigger hit for Ah, for that is when you host a game and all those people come into your city, that's not normally from your city.
You got the small surrounding businesses that really kind of thrive off of the business from bands from outside the state was outside the area, so that's not what really hurts Yeah.
I mean, I I went to two games last year, and I went to I think, one the year before we actually what? The Ravens came to L A twice in the past two seasons.
So I got lucky to be able to go to both games against the Chargers and then the Rams this past season.
And then I actually went to Baltimore.
I don't know if I ever told you guys this, but I went to Baltimore last seat as well.
Um, so yeah, and the Ravens don't come over here to the West Coast this season at all.
In fact, they actually have the least amount of travel out of any NFL team, so that's also gonna benefit them as well.
But, you know, regardless, um, so, yeah, I'm not planning on going to game, necessarily.
If it happens, I don't know how it would happen.
Someone will have to buy me a ticket, and so and you know it.
I don't think they would do that because it's gonna be super pricey, and I think they would want to keep it for themselves.
So, yeah, I'm personally not gonna plan to go to go to a game.
But, you know, if you know, if you want to just be safe, men wear a mask.
You know, that's that's what I would recommend for sure.
So I've got a question for you.
Have we talked about calling Coward earlier, Right, And just we've only got a few minutes left or we get the 30 minute mark and I don't want to extend a little bit.
Did you see his prediction for the A F C North? I did, actually.
I was just watching it like an hour ago.
So let me let me talk about because obviously I know what you're referring to.
That he has the Ravens going 16 and Oh, okay, so this is I mean, I like it, but it's come up like it's it's super unrealistic.
I I I'm also thinking the Ravens are going to be a very good team this season, but to say that we're 16 you're gonna go 16.
And so I don't really like it because it's putting a lot of pressure on us to live up to that.
So e I mean, I get it because we are a good team and we do have Ah, fairly easy schedule.
If you're just talking about the strength of schedule or whatever, If you believe in that, I don't, um and we are favored in every game, so I mean, I get it.
I can get where he's coming from, but what what was even more interesting to me was that he had the Patriots going five and 11.
I don't know if you saw that, and I've seen that wall they have.
He has to cold going 10 and six, which is kind of kind of sitting and winning the A F C South.
And that's kind of where a lot of people have got of going where I got.
I went in two more games.
I think you have set in 10 and six to write, I think contended six or 11 and five, something like that.
But I want to slip back to the A F.
Sure, because he's right on a very similar window of where I was trying to say The Bingle, they're not gonna be very good.
Got them going to And 14 Zia's.
I just I win more games than that.
I way better, man, I'm sorry.
I mean, no way better, but I definitely don't see them repeating as only a to win team.
I think that the Bengals air getting no respect right now, and I get it, You know, there they were, the number one overall pick last year.
They look like a bad team.
I totally understand that.
Nobody's really, you know, nobody's super sold on.
Zach Taylor is a head coach.
I understand that.
And you know, there's question marks about Joe Borough, but to and I don't think they're going to repeat us two and 14 men, I just I don't see that happening.
Maybe it's because I've had to play the Bangles time and time again, and they tend, you know, it's a play is pretty tough.
Well, not recently when we've had a Lamar Jackson because we've whipped them every single time that we've had to play them with Lamar.
But before that man, they were freaking thorn in the Ravens side for so long.
So maybe that's where it's coming from.
But yeah, I don't know 40.
Well, it's kind of like the whole, um it's kind of like the whole Cardinals, er the Atlanta Falcons situation where their schedules tough.
Look at the division they're already in.
You can't really expect him to win too many games in their own division.
And then and then they got to play the A F.
South and three of those teams are pretty darn solid to, uh, to me, the Bengals and the Jaguars games a tasa because they could be the two worst teams in the NFL right now.
Between that between them, uh, I actually honestly believe Atlanta is a better team, that either the Biggles or the JAG wires, but they'll probably have very similar records because Atlanta's schedules just nasty.
Yeah, we went over the last time and, yeah, it was.
It was pretty pretty rough.
Umm, no, but going back to the Bengals, I could see them at least getting two wins in the division.
You know, I could see them pulling off an upset against the Browns and the Steelers on, and I know that maybe sound shocking.
Call it a gut feeling, but, you know, I think I think it's funny that you won't call your own team out on that please things, But they are their division rivals, and they know each other very, very well.
So, uh, most likely there Winds will probably come from their own division.
Right? Just how that that generally works? Uh, not too often.
Does a division team go? You know, uh, drop a complete goose egg in their own division because they know that no matter how bad they are, So let me, let me ask you this.
Who do you think is the worst team in the NFL right now? Would you say it's the Jags? Yes.
Okay, Fair enough.
See? And even the Jags men.
I just I have a feeling that Gardner men she's gonna win like, one more game than you expect them to.
I just have that feeling, Gardner.
They may be your brother.
It's quite possible I think he could, but he's not winning more than four or five at the most fair.
No, with the Bangles.
I don't see him when More than four or five at the most.
And that that, in my opinion, they're topping right now.
Now, like I said about the Bengals, same with Miami.
What it looks like they're doing could progress in tow.
Better records later on.
But going from one season to the next, you can't expect that jump out of a bunch of rookies.
Yeah, that and that's that's the roughest thing.
Like I said, if they had a better offensive line, I would feel so much better about this year.
But unfortunately, and that defense still has a lot of issues.
Let's be honest here.
The secondary is just not that good, aside from William Jackson and Jesse Bates and even William Jackson kind of had a little bit of a down year and the Gino Atkins did, too.
I mean, Geno Atkins has been that guy for that defensive line, but and has it gotten? Yeah, yeah, those two.
So those have caused so much trouble over the years, man, you have no idea.
Um, especially with Flacco, cause he would heat.
That was Flacco's worst nightmare.
Man, I got to say, was Gino Atkins and Carlos Dunlap coming coming up there? But they did at D J Reader, you know, that pretty good player from the Texas I mean, you have played against some you you have a lot of experience.
So, uh, help their defensive lines going to be riel, but the rest of the defense is your go look at and go well worth the help.
Yeah, Yeah, I still have no faith in the linebackers, and I think the secondary can be passed upon quite a bit, So yeah, I'll give you that.
But I don't know, maybe maybe it's just me that I've faced the bangle so many times, So I've they've beaten us when I didn't expect them to.
So maybe that's why I don't think they should be.
But two and 14 is just a little low.
In my opinion, I don't think we'll in my here.
Here's here's my throw down on this when it comes to having a team right now, the Bengals are built.
The only way they're gonna win is an issue.
Doubt, I think, the only way they're gonna win in a shootout and in order Teoh get consecutive.
Goodwin's in a shootout game is you've gotta have an offense like Kansas City like the old Peyton Manning Colts.
You know, when stuff like a team just outstanding.
Oh my God, so much talent on the elephants.
I don't like the Bengals at this point.
is at that point, right? Maybe in a year or two when they get a little bit experience under their belt and, you know, they they start toe kind of cohesion together and understand each other.
But right now, there's just too much of a NFL learning curve for those jerseys.
All right, well, uh, so do you remember how I think he had the Browns going? Seven and nine, if I'm not mistaken.
Actually, I think I have been going pretty close to that. Okay.
I want way hit it Pretty close.
Dead on, Uh, other than obviously, uh, Baltimore going 16.
And, um, did you know Baltimore going really high? I think I think I had them going like, uh, 13 and three did not. Yeah, I think so.
Um, did you Because he had a video that he liked basically explained his reasoning.
Oh, I have the video right here that we can talk about later, but yeah, he explained his reasoning of why he has the Ravens going 16. I know.
I don't know if you watched that.
Probably not, but I did.
Um he basically said that we're ****ed off because of the playoff loss and how everybody's talking trash about Lamar Jackson and stuff.
And Lamar's gonna be ****ed off Hollywood.
I think he put on £23 of muscle.
If I'm not mistaken.
So he's saying they're his stuff, you know? They're, ah, lot of people talk trash about them. They're a good team.
So they're gonna win every single game this season and just blow through the playoffs as well.
So as much as I love that take, maybe it's just me.
Because there's been so many years of being a Ravens fan that expectations were high.
I just get let down.
But, man, not even I would say that we're gonna go 60 to know.
So let me just put that out there.
Yeah, but anyway, I don't know, man.
I some people I think they dropped these takes just Yeah, that's what it's all about, baby.
That's what it's all about.
I got you calling.
I got you calling.
So the NFC East, he has the bills going 11 and five, which I mean, it is a far cry from my seven and nine winning the division s.
So, um, then he has the Dolphins going seven and nine in second place and the Jets going six in 10 and the Patriots See, I wish he was here.
I wish we was here going five and 11.
Who? I just did a stream earlier today about how big Cam Newton is for the Patriots.
Yeah, and Collins going to eat those words, I'm telling you, I think Truman, Yeah, the Patriots will be fighting for the A F C East and they're going to end up being really real, a real problem if they make it in the playoffs.
And I think it's just because of the two factors Bill Belichick and Cam Newton, because I think Cam Newton is gonna have a very good season.
I just I see that fire in him like I've talked to the And of course, it's Bill Belichick.
Like I've said, he can make anybody.
He just He knows what he wants from a player, and that's just so dangerous when you have a head coach like that.
So well, I mean, it's been said that Josh McDaniels was fighting with Belichick, wanted to get came from Newton and signed because the season was over assumed this cam was gone.
Daniels was like, I want him.
Could you imagine what I could do with those kind of skills? And, you know, it just took months and months before they finally got.
You know, Josh Mitgang was probably through a **** party.
Really? A moment.
He found his hoodie a back.
Everybody, come on over here.
All right, so here it is a f C North.
Like we said, Ravens 16 and open.
I mean, I like it, but come on now.
The Browns nine and seven, You know, But I don't hate that again.
If they can live up to expectations, I think if they play like the team that they are Oh, they could be on 11 and five.
Teen in my think they could legitimately make things really difficult for even the Ravens, right? Yeah, that's a good point.
That's a good point.
But it's the Cleveland Browns.
So there's that Eichler that he has the Steelers going seven and nine.
And you know what? I don't think that I think I think you had them actually bought six and 10.
Maybe. Yeah, again. I'm not.
I just don't see how Ben is gonna come in and be their savior.
But that's that's a whole nother topic.
Um, And then, of course, like we mentioned Bengals going to in 14.
Um, let me fast forward here.
Okay? The south.
Let's talk about this one.
I'm sure the colts going 10 and six, winning the division as well.
And, you know, I think that seems to be the general consensus.
Um, I think No, no, I was just gonna say that.
I think the colts on paper, provided that Philip Rivers can just be a game manager, can be the best friend a f c.
Because I think I think the culture actually being slept on.
You think there are a lot better than they are? I'm sure I like I know.
I know I'm a Colts fan, but to be fair, when I break a team down, I do it objectively.
And I tried to take any fandom that I have out of it.
You know, I'm looking at the actual roster, looking at each player, looking at the coaching, looking at history, all this stuff.
I'm gonna tell you, I don't have a lot of faith in T y Hilton is gonna be, ah, big part of this football because he's had issues with injuries, right? So taking T y Hilton and saying he only plays, let's say, nine games this season.
You know, Mrs seven games.
You still have Paris Campbell, who I think will get over the injury hump that he had his freshman year because he's been out working this whole off season.
Michael Pittman solid.
Zach Paschal stepped up last season.
All that one of the best running games in football.
I think that they will be, especially with the addition of Jonathan Taylor and this defense with the Force.
Buttner is gonna be just nasty because they were already good previously.
Then you add a guy who just got done talking about how he feels like he's been slept on while he was in San Francisco.
You know, all these guys around him was was doing so well what they weren't stating the fact that they were doing so well because of him.
Yeah, he was the reason why they could do well because they had one on one because he was taking the double teams and still doing what he was doing with all those you know.
He was the six month double team player in the NFL and still doing what he was doing in allowing the guys around him to play one on ones.
No, I think ****ed off, too.
I definitely feel like the Colts have gone gone under the radar form or most football fans.
What once everybody saw that they signed Philip Rivers.
They just discounted the Colts entirely.
Oh, they have Philip Rivers, the quarterback. They're going to suck.
That's what I think the casual NFL fan thinks right, but they don't look a about all the work that the Colts have done on the roster.
Man, this is a good roster, Seriously.
So again, if Philip Rivers could just be a game manager, they're gonna win a lot of games.
Hell, I think that even Jacoby beset was the quarterback and healthy for the whole season.
That's a step us people that I have to put in there.
There's still a better team than they were last year.
Yeah, you know what? The additions they got there still a better team.
So I mean, how could you say that? There there's there's people out there saying, Oh, they're gonna win.
They're gonna be a six and 10 team And I'm like, Right that we were seven and nine last year.
You know that whatever they were last year, that's what they're gonna be this year.
That's how it's every for every team, right? So is T Y Hilton, by the way, in a contract year.
OK, so he's gonna be a future raven that next year.
I'll tell you that right now.
Ah, no, But I was actually curious to see how many games he's missed over the years, and he hasn't really started missing too many until the last three years.
And I'll tell you what.
In 2018 he did not miss many games.
Yeah, but they had a upper and lower ah, high and low ankle spring on the same stinking angle the last five weeks of the season and into the playoffs.
So you just stay healthy, placing having a lot of ankle and hamstring injuries the last three years.
And that's the problem.
If he could find a way of of, uh figuring out why he's having these injuries and get away from it.
He's still a solid top receiver, you know, Great, great, go to guy.
But I just don't know, because I mean, he plays on that artificial turf, and I think that has a lot to do with it.
That's a good point.
That's a good point.
So calling once again has the Colts going 10 and six, then followed up by the Titans at eight and eight.
I think we have them going nine and seven, you know, kind of feeding into the Mihm of the Titans, always going nine and seven.
Um, but, you know, eight made 97.
I think that's about fair for the Titans, the Texans going 79.
So I know you guys were pretty eye on the Texans. I'm not.
But when you and rare flipped, I think your your more high on the Titans, he's more high on the text.
And then high on both of right? Yeah, yeah, and then the Jags attuned 14.
So you know he's right around where I have them myself.
I'd say that's fair.
I'd say that's fair Um, and my internet is scrapping out.
So I can't skip this video.
For your Internets not crapping out.
I could see you just find Oh, then it's just on my phone.
Then I guess it's It's nightfall.
Okay, here it is.
The Chiefs going 12 and four, winning the division.
Obviously, um, I think everybody is expecting that. Yep.
And ah, the Broncos at nine. And seven.
You know, I don't get that record Their I don't hate that record for them.
The charges and Aidan eight.
You might disagree.
I disagree with that. I don't like the chargers.
You You're not a believer of the tie God Time Mobile.
I think they have a lot of talent on that team.
I do have no faith in their quarterback room at all.
And I'm not just talking about Taylor.
I'm talking about, uh, Herbert as well.
I don't like their entire quarterback room.
I like Tyrod a little better than Herbert.
I'll just put that out there.
But maybe it's because he's a former Ravens.
So I'm biased there.
And then the Raiders at five and 11.
I think, um, I think we did that outlook so long ago, months ago, so I don't even remember what we had going, But I think we have the Raiders winning more than five games.
Yeah, I think I'm pretty sure we did too.
I think I think we had the Raiders.
I I'm pretty sure I had the Raiders and the Chargers full it compared to what Colin has.
All right, so So you're you're gonna be that guy who says, Well, he was once all my because I'm high on because I want so much.
I'm telling you what? Hoyer was a quarterback for the Colts last year, and as far as I'm concerned, uh, he can go back. Grocery.
I don't know. I've just always like Tyrod M****.
Something about it.
Maybe we drafted him.
He's a homegrown dude, you know, and and I just like I liked him in the preseason and all that.
And then I like he went to the bills and had some success, and I was kind of rooting for him.
So maybe that's part of it.
I don't know Um, yes, but anyway, so these are the A F C playoff standings.
According to Colin Cowherd, Um, the Ravens with the number one seed, Obviously, if you go 16 I know, um, the Chiefs 12 and four with the two seed, I guess.
And then the Bills with three seed 11 and five.
Um then I guess the Colts with the fourth seed with a 10 and six and then wild cards would be the Broncos nine and seven, the Browns nine and seven and the Chargers at eight and eight.
So, you know, I don't see the charges like in the playoff.
How? Yeah, hard to make the playoffs.
Yeah, it's the Chargers.
I think they made a mistake with the quarterback.
I'm just not And I mean, even if, like, let's just take Tyrod out of the equation.
Herbert, Man, I you know, I just don't know what is, is what he is.
He's not going to be any better than what you've seen on tape.
Yeah, he does not to me look like someone who has a very I feel he's at his ceiling, right? Yeah.
He'll be able to step in and play and play reasonable.
But he's not a franchise quarterback.
Yeah, yeah, I would agree with you.
Kind of like Josh Allen.
Eso, uh do you want to Do you want to go through the NFC? Since where? You know, since welder here, let's go ahead.
Colin has for the rest of the might as well.
He So he has the Eagles winning the NFC East.
I know you're gonna have a problem with that.
It's 10 and six and the Cowboys at 18 8 in second place.
So he's expecting the cowboys to continue on there.
We are kind of like the Brown situation is where I'm seeing here.
And well, did he forget that that they now have? McCarthy is their head coach.
I mean, man, that's McCarthy is gonna take that offense, and it's it's gonna fly.
Yeah, they I do like McCarthy better than Garrett, for sure.
I mean, I think the players will is well, because if if you just on the sidelines, you're not gonna see this all the time.
You know you're actually going to see someone ****ed off when you do a stupid thing on the field.
So, yeah, I think a donates a little low.
And I think we all had the Cowboys winning the division.
If I'm not mistaken, So it's a little bit of a shocker for sure.
I could definitely see the Eagles being a nine win team.
I think that most.
I think so, too.
I think I had the Cowboys sitting at 11 5 Yeah, and I think we have the I think I have the Eagles at either 10 and six or 19 7 Some around in there.
So then they have the Giants at six and 10 the old D j and then the Washington football team at four and 12.
So, you know, I think those are both fair estimates at the bottom of the division, right? And here's an interesting one.
The NFC North actually haven't seen this, that he has the Vikings winning the division at 11 and five over the 11 and five Packers.
Funny because I got the Vikings being at the bottom of the division Yanks.
Yeah, no faith in Captain Kirk, man.
No faith, it's It's I mean, they lost their number one receiver.
They lost their best corner.
I mean, they at least in my opinion, they lost.
Ah, they're not gonna They're not gonna have the running back for a while, you know, until they can get something settled with that truth.
So, uh, just they're not gonna come out the gate looking good at all, I think.
A cup still, though, right? I didn't That cut that don't know that.
Yeah, he's a star. A star.
Those two teams mixed up sometimes for some reason, I don't know why.
NFC teams? I don't know, um, Packers at 11 and five as well, but in second place.
So I concede Packet being a loving above.
Yeah, I think that's reasonable because, you know, I think we all mentioned that they were 13 and three last year, but they didn't really look like a 13 and three team, you know, if that makes sense.
And I know like if you're a package that you're gonna say, Well, what do you mean? There? Looking like a 13 and three team.
They were a 13 3 team.
But also, you know, I don't know I just wasn't super convinced by the Packers, which is crazy because they made it to the NFC championship game, but they just never seemed dominant.
You know, that's I just never felt that way.
Um, it was Aaron Rodgers carrying the team.
There's no other, no other way.
The Bears W airs at seven and nine.
I think I have them sitting right about that as well, but I got the lion's being number two in the division.
Man, you guys are super high on these Lions, and I actually grew with Colin here.
He has him at five and 11 at the ba*****t of the I've got a mate Nate and slip it into the seven spot in the playoffs.
I don't think a day is too much of a stretch, especially with the weapons that the Detroit Lions have added for Stafford.
Yes, um, they haven't normally done that, and that's why most people look at that at that team and go well, that alliance.
You really look at what they added to help.
They gave him some offensive line help.
They got him another wide receiver.
They got him a good running back and switch.
He's got a shot.
Not having a good season this year for the first time.
Calvin Johnson days, right? Yeah, yeah.
I mean, my goodness.
So I I'm And if he and last year he wasn't healthy this year he's going to be healthy, Man, I'm I'm a believer of Stafford.
I think he's a top 10 quarterback.
I like Stafford.
I've just not as high on him.
It's You guys are for sure.
Um, I have him winning seven games at the most.
Okay, so the NFC South, the Saints winning the division? I mean, that's pretty cut and dry 11 and five over the Bucks at 10 and six, Tom.
Or should I say the Tampa Brady Gronk in years as they're being called now, I guess I'm not argue that I like.
We're both those teams are Yeah, yeah, I'm that I would definitely be interested to see, because there you know, as much as I've been talking about the books, there's also a chance that maybe this just does not work out.
You know, maybe Tom Brady just does not turn out to be what everybody is expecting.
And maybe last year was not a fluke, and it wasn't against the other working against the rest of the Patriots and Tom Brady is just hit that freakin other side of the hill, right? Yeah.
And again, I'm I've talked him up a lot, but I'm also say I'm not.
I'm also not totally shutting out the possibility that the bucks that this just does not work.
You know, I'm saying there's a chance, but I think it would be a lot more entertaining if it does, because then you could see the Saints in the Bucks battling it out week by week.
Oh, we got a win because the Saints are gonna win, and you know, So I think it would make it a lot more fun if the Bucks actually our competitive, we'll see. We'll see.
And then here's an interesting one.
He has the Panthers at seven and nine in third place over the Falcons at six and 10.
But, well, you know what? That's That's actually reasonable because the Falcons have that schedule.
Men like we said, and I I think some 10. I've a little problem.
I think you tie on both of them.
You know you're not stupid.
I don't see either one of those teams one of more than five games.
You don't like the Panthers? I remember that.
Well, you know, like Eddie.
Yeah, I love I love Christian McCaffrey.
And I think they got a slightly above average wide receiver corps.
But non Teddy Bridgewater is, ah, high end game manager.
That's fair. That's fair.
I don't think that's too controversial.
I mean, Christian McCaffrey pretty much was my only good fantasy player last year, so yeah, he's always gonna have a special place in my heart, even though I didn't playoffs.
But anyway, um, so the NFC West and I think this is the last one.
If I'm not mistaken, Yep.
And then we'll move on to the playoffs.
The Niners repeating a 12 and four again, I you know, I kind of had a little bit of a take the the other day that I said the Seahawks might win the division now, but he has the Seahawks at 10 and six and second place, um, followed by the Rams at nine and seven, and then the Wow, the Cardinals at five and 11.
That's a surprise to me.
Well, the cards still got problems on their defense.
They dio they got, they got it all, put up a lot of points.
But their defense, they're kind of sitting in the same situation.
Yeah, but, you know, But in that very similar situation, only they have At least they have somebody in their secondary that can cover troop.
So I'm a little I don't know if it's because I'm expecting Kyla Murray toe Have that second year.
You know that second year launching point.
As you know, a Patrick Mahomes.
Lamar Jackson, you know, have done Jared Goff also had it.
Carson Wentz is well, even though, you know, things have really turned out.
But I don't know, I just have a feeling that Kyla Murray is gonna be one of those quarterbacks that comes out in his second year and just kind of, you know, has not maybe not necessarily in m v P.
C's and it's possible could see it happening.
Well, he's got the one arguably the best wide receiver in football to help them out on the road.
So exactly so I don't think he's gonna have an M V P season, either.
But I think I think you're right.
I think he'll he'll have.
Ah, much better completion percentage.
I think you'll have a better sack rate percentage.
He'll be able to get rid of the ball a little quicker now that he understands how to play the at the NFL level.
Right? Right, right.
So his NFC playoffs go like this.
We have the number one seed, the 40 Niners at 12 and four, and then we have, um, well, we have the Vikings and the Saints at 11 and five.
So whoever has the tiebreaker there, so two and three seed and then we have the Eagles at the four seed with 10 and six and then wild cards would be the Packers 11 and five, the Bucks 10 and six and the Seahawks at 10 and six.
Interesting Good Lord having the Seahawks and the last playoff spot.
Yep, yep, that's sad that I'm telling you, man, I just have that feeling that there because I think the Niners are going to regress a little bit.
I think that not a lot of people are taking that into account their expected them to be come out and be the exact same Tina's last year again, I don't think they have.
They don't have the same running group that they had before, right? They're missing a very important piece.
And then the other piece once.
Ah, restructure on his contract yet most yet.
And Deebo? Samuel is gonna be a huge loss.
Man, I'm telling you, because he was a big part of their offense.
But you you mean Sanders? Not Debo? No.
Well, Emmanuel Sanders and Debo cause DeBose injured for the season.
I don't know if he's out for the season, but he's gonna miss some time for sure.
Okay, so, uh, I didn't think I was once.
Maybe it wasn't long.
But anyway, there you go.
We we actually went for an hour, surprisingly, on this stream about college football, which I didn't think we were going to get any juice out of, but we did.
Um, even though we didn't fully talk about college football the whole time, but pick at least half the time, though.
