Okay, lets going on much, much hotter day going so far.
How are you guys doing today? We're doing We're doing great.
So you guys are right now which I'm trying to hang in there with all these college football cancellations.
Now it's that that could be the deciding factor of Polish football.
I think that that's kind of my question.
What do you think they need to do for them? Teoh Haven't season right now.
See better Belasco.
And we're going off topic.
Blasco was no. So it was 12.
The two margin for the Big 10 and Nebraska and I were the only two teams that wanted to play.
And Nebraska was actually practicing literally the other day.
And now Nebraska wants Teoh.
I remember who tweeted out.
But it was like the window for Nebraska going into the big 12 May, indeed, the opening, but like that's a risk is like not only is it a breach of contract, but, like you could risk getting fined thousands of dollars for that, leaving the leaving your conference for one season like that to me, that's just a huge risk.
Yeah, for sure I would have. You would be.
They're definitely Ah, big risk there.
Anyways, back on topic.
I'm a through a month for you in this one as well.
So, salmon, I Right now we're talking about the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers So further.
New Orleans Saints Their main free agent signings that are the most important to talk about are the Malcolm Jenkins signing what you signed a four year deal to return with the Saints.
Another one that they did was bringing in Emmanuel Sanders, former receiver for the Steelers for the Broncos and the Niners, now a part of the New Orleans Saints.
And and, as we all know, the famous 30 for 30 man Jamis Winston coming in as a backup quarterback out of those free agent signings.
Who do you believe makes the most impact for the Northern States? A chance of winning the Super Bowl? I'm gonna say Emmanuel Sanders, Well, we needed a second receiver.
Um, I think he could come in and just do right get about four catches, maybe 60 yards a game.
I'm not expecting them.
They're going crazy.
But, you know, we have to do business quarterback.
So, I mean, you can have any given night.
You go basing, put it big numbers, but somebody to get Michael Thomas open, give him some more opportunities.
We already got Amira.
So I think he just as another weapon to the Saints offense.
And I mean, I think that center, that's the piece he might be the peace Malcolm Jenkins makes us better on defense with the most sense.
Definitely my tailbone defense won the ****ing playoffs with our defense on the border every year.
So Malcolm Chicken makes us better.
But I think Emmanuel Sanders with a piece on the offensive side of the box, You really didn't have that.
A second receiver? Yes, it's Sam and I agreed as well a week.
We all said that Emmanuel Sanders was the missing piece, and I'll come back to kind of what I was saying.
Before we look at New Orleans Saints, they pretty much have everything they have.
The quarterback, they have the running back they got, they got a good tight end, Jared Cook, and they even have a good defense.
But the main thing that they were pretty much missing was just the number two receiver in.
Now that think I Emmanuel Sanders, I felt for the Saints there was legitimately zero excuses for them not to go far in the playoffs.
You know, we we've seen them time and time again.
You know they fall short in the playoffs, whether it's 2017 in the Minneapolis Miracle, where all the guy Marcus Williams has to do is tackles to fund eggs and make it to the Astra championship game or whether it's, Ah, no call game against the Rams.
And then on then and then the overtime.
That happens where Ju breeze and that gets the ball.
But the defense couldn't get a stop.
And then even last year, even last in the playoffs, Drew Brees leaves a great comeback like they were down 20 to 10 in that game.
And, you know, some people fooled afterwards, but Drew agrees, Help carry them back and the defense is simply folded in overtime.
So there there is zero excuses Bore or the Saints.
This year, their defense is gonna be one of one of the top defense in the NFL I want to say top five, but I could see them being a top 10 defense.
They're most likely going to have a top 10 offense because you have a guy like Drew Brees.
You still got Michael Thomas Thomas out there, so there's gonna be zero excuses for the States I don't want to hear.
I don't want to hear any excuses for the Saints if they if they lose early in the playoffs.
I have to agree with you about not having really you at all points right there.
I can't give him no excuses. This year.
I feel like, you know, this is be cool Breezes last year.
If not, he has one more year, and then we look at another quarterback.
You got to get the ring.
You got to get it this year and next year, the States air just like the Packers to as long as they still have Ju Breeze.
They're always going to be a contending team.
As much as I don't want to say this, I don't think Drew Brees wins another ring for the rest of his career, but they still have a strong team, but the NFC has gotten stronger this offseason.
Yeah, you gotta talk about Patton having homes of the A F C Lamar Jackson.
I see that you're talking about.
But with that offense, I think that it's only one game, bro.
Just about getting there, just finishing it, Michael ****in trust reason finished that last game.
It's just one game.
If they gotta get their initiative, they could get it done. I feel like that.
You get it done, but I see where you're coming from.
Yeah, yeah, both. Definitely there.
Let's let's move on to the New Orleans Saints draft picks.
So they're all in the sense that don't really have a lot of picks.
They have four or graphics, but But they did pretty good with their 1st 2 in the first round with 24th pick.
They selected to center from Michigan.
See, sees armories.
And in the third round, with the pick number 10 number 74 overall, they selected linebacker Zach Bond out of those two players.
I'll start off with you, Sam.
Who do you believe will make the most impact for the Saints and why I'm gonna be season Ramiz.
However you know I like to Zach Bon bon a lot, but, um, seasonal reasons.
Kind of a no brainer pick at that time.
Just because one he really sodas well, that the boards come draft day and to Max Unger retired, which kind of shocked everyone.
So all eyes are now pointing towards Caesar.
We is to see if he could be that franchise guy.
So I definitely think it's gonna be Cesar Ruiz.
And what about you, Caleb? Between those two players, who do you believe will make the most impact? I would say Caesar worries, too.
We needed somebody on the line.
I wasn't big on Zach Bar because I didn't Really.
Nobody would know who he was.
I know he was, like, a sleeper pick type of guy, but exactly I mean, season reasons.
Definitely a guy that they needed to hold down the line.
Like I said, we gotta keep every safe we're gonna win.
Got it? Protective reason.
Public it mind you gotta be sharing often.
So I think that was a great big.
Although I did expect him to get a receiver.
But, I mean, you can't go wrong with getting alignment.
Yeah, I'm really interested to see how the stains.
You know Zack Bond, because I mean, yeah, he and the diluted sample they dropped into the air around, but he's also undersized for an edge rusher, and I think that also played a little bit of a factor.
Why he fell that far.
He was seen as a first round talent to some scouts.
I personally thought he I was surprised he felt the third.
I expected them to go early in the second rod, like within the 1st 10 to 15 picks.
I mean, I think he very well could be a special teams play maker and another die.
I mean, he could be used all over the defense and, yeah, he excels on the outside.
But a guy that you can develop with Sean Payton, with the rest of that defense and veterans on there, where he very well could develop to an all round edge rusher that can like blitz, excel both on the outside and the inside.
Yeah, that's the case.
That's his potential.
And his speed is definitely a reason to overlook those cases of him being undersized because he would give me one of the fastest edge rushers in this draft and a lot of getting to the quarterback.
I think that's exactly what we need.
So that's his potential.
You put me on it.
I would sleep on him. I was released.
Hopefully he does good, but I'm gonna also go with you.
Guys said I believe Caesar will res will make make the most impact and saying you can't get on the money.
I was also surprised that Max Unger retired, and when he retired, I kind of wanted to see, like, How long will the Saints wait to find his replace it? Well, they may be weight in, like, a second or third round.
Or will they get him, like right away when they're 20 foot thick is in And they went right away and went there with the 24th Begin.
I believe they made the right choice, you know? Could never go with the receiver.
Yeah, they could have gone to receiver, but I didn't really see them drafting receiver just because they already signed Emmanuel Sanders.
I feel like if they didn't sign Emmanuel Sanders, maybe they could have gone that route.
Maybe they could have got like a Brandon Yayuk with the 23 flipping if you if he was still at the spot.
But because Max another retired and the same sign Emmanuel Sanders them getting Caesar reasons gonna be huge and you know he's not to perform.
Well, you know what? I don't get me wrong, Max.
Hunger is to do that.
The Saints traded for from the Seahawks. Correct.
Yet they basically traded Jimmy Graham Teoh.
He was a great pig Ever since we got that was a great change.
Yeah, And if it was a great trade and all lives are gonna be pretty much on Cesar reads like he's gonna have to have performed well and with rookie offensive lineman, you know, they go want one of two ways they they could either be really good, very helpful for the team.
Or that could be they could be, like, a huge liability.
Like I'm gonna go with an example.
Uh, say what? I don't like the Green Bay Packers.
And one of the great offense of Garza Leon last year was rookie Elton Jenkins.
You know, he really stepped up for Green Bay last year when Lane Taylor went, went down and it could have gone one of two ways.
Elton Jenkins could have either been a liability and struggled mightily.
Or he could have been what he waas was one of the best best guard for the Green Bay Packers.
Like, I think there was a stat line where he didn't allow.
I was single sack and over, like, 400 snaps so they could go wanted to a fan and the same for hopefully see, the reasons gonna be that capable guy, especially with them being at center.
You know, he's gonna have to know some stuff as well because the center is going to be the main orchestrator, how the place we're gonna go.
And when you have a smart guy like Drew Brees who could pick a part of defense, you know, they're gonna have to be on the same page on the same page is old season.
It was definitely most definitely effect, as Sam, you really liked on Zach Bond, your your big Wisconsin fan.
You kind of gave us a little points about him, But could you also give ah a little bit more on how he can make an impact for the New Orleans Saints this season.
I think he's a guy that can play off the edge, and I mentioned before that he's undersized and not to mention he went to West bed where I'm from and he entrance would rounder and played quarterback.
I always love guys that throughout their football career have played on both sides of the ball and like that's a unique trait of those players coming into the NFL.
He played quarterback up around here, was recruited as an outside linebacker at Wisconsin and, yeah, he definitely was undersized.
But I don't recalls 40 but it was definitely in the top half of the edge Russian class in this draft class, and I think he's a guy.
He very well could be a guy that could all of a sudden come on, No one uncertain place because of his speed.
All right, I definitely can't wait to see what Zach Bond for the Northern States, Whether it's as a starter or limited role.
Let's close out the New Orleans Saints with the three things we're gonna give ah offensive then VP for 2020 defense of M V P and the most improved player.
Let's start off with the offensive EVP.
I'll start off with you, Sam.
Who do you believe will be the Oil and Saints offensive MVP this year? In 2020? I have your birdies.
I mean, you've got more.
He has another target.
And Emmanuel Sanders.
I don't think he's great, but he's still another body.
Another weapon for Drew Brees.
You got Emmanuel Sanders, Michael Thomas, Jared Cook and album Camaro in your backfield.
I've got your breeze.
What about you? Cope with you, coppers? Your offense.
Go back with Michael Thomas Mann.
He had a great year last year.
I think he's gonna have another great year.
Menus, Uh, Sanders and our American good decoys toe allowing him to get open and and the priest the low form.
So I feel like he's gonna have another fantastic years and be at the top of his game.
And this is years in the show.
Like No doubt Michael Thomas is the number one receiver in the league, so I'm I'm a running back with Michael Thomas this year.
Like he's he's found over another making year that the weapons on offense that he has around him.
It's not flammable.
Definitely good choice of there.
I got a girl working.
One he says have I'm also gonna go with the Drew Brees.
Drew Brees doesn't have a lot of time left.
You know, he's got his.
His time is ticking.
And and I kind of like what you said same earlier.
Whenever Drew Brees is on the state's their instant contenders and I truly believe that.
And I also truly believe that however good Drew Brees is is how good the same therapy.
Like if Drew Brees kind of struggles and show his age, the New Orleans Saints looking a struggle.
But if Drew Brees continue to keep on playing good, the New Orleans Saints are keep on playing good.
And with this out of targets like Emmanuel Sanders, he still got Michael Thomas, which I believe is a good envy.
You couldn't go around either way with with those players, but I just think Drew Brees has toe has to prove himself.
And because when we look at, like, all time, good quarterbacks, you know Drew Brees name pops up.
But you called? Yeah.
You name a couple cubes beforehand.
I I feel like if June Breeze has a great season and caps off hopefully with posting wasting of Lombardy from his name could sky rocket up? Ah, the all Time Cube you list.
So that's why that's why I got Drew Brees as my as my office event.
Just because his time is running out and you know he's got toe Lynn and I believe with them getting you manual standards, it's gonna definitely help out his chances of winning.
And let's let's move on until the defense of M.
Further Mormon Saints on.
Go back to you, Sam, Who do you got as the defense of N V.
P for the new 16? There's a few guys I could pick with this one of the first ones that came to mind was to marry or Davis.
But I'm gonna go with the wild card pick here, and I'm going to go with Marshawn Lattimore.
I was gonna go with Marshawn Lattimore, too.
Yeah, those are those are definitely good picks.
Could you guys give me a couple reasons why you're gonna go with Marshall anymore? You got it. Now you got it.
I mean, we don't martial.
Mata more very well could solidify himself this year as their franchise peace in their secondary.
We don't know if Malcolm Jenkins is necessarily the answer, and Malcolm Jenkins is old. He's aging.
We already know he's signed with CNN after this.
Ah, after when his career is done and Marchand Bottom was young, he's a good secondary.
He's a good and reliable secondary guy to build around.
I would agree with you.
You the youngest guy on defense.
Now we actually have a couple other.
We have another corner with another safety, but I think he could be the piece.
You know, he has a couple of years coming up that are gonna be important years where our lives you're gonna be on you because you could be Friday for a big contract.
I mean, I think he's going to get it done.
You discuss acute between to prove himself.
You could be getting that big contract considered the top three on top 500.
So I was gonna go Lemarchand Lattimore.
Although we do have a lot of other gay guys that you can't be sits by Cameron Jordan so I gotta change could see a quarterback.
I mean, Malcolm Jenkins.
He's denied that.
Got your peace to our defense, you know? But look, backing all I've gotta go to martial a lot of money this year.
Yeah, it's clear to pick for us defensive every people.
I'm gonna go with Cameron Jordan.
The reason why I'm going with the camera Jordan is because I think he's got one of most important, uh, positions in the NFL that as an edge rusher.
The I said before nonsense again, like the key for NFL teams to be successful is you gotta have a quarterback, you gotta have the edge rusher and you gotta have a good old line and the same Scott, all three of them.
And I feel like Cameron Jordan is gonna have another good year.
I think if he stay, if he stays healthy and has no injuries, you know he's gonna be a very important factor on the other women Saints getting to the quarterback, you know that's gonna be the for for the face all season is we know we know their offense is gonna be great because they got Drew Brees.
The guy Emmanuel Sanders Camara Jericho we know their office will be great.
But can their defense step up to the task? Can the defense carry the load and perform well and can camera, drone and perform in the playoffs? Like can this New Orleans Saints defense do great in the playoffs and kind of shed off the label of not being able to carry the office? You know, it's gonna be very important.
I feel like Cameron joining.
He's gonna be that defense of M V P.
And he's gonna be the reason why the New Orleans Saints either.
E I believe you could be the return one.
The Northern States are gonna go far and the in the NFL this season.
I don't doubt that pick, bro.
I don't doubt that pick. I just think he's a little older.
He's getting odor, but he is definitely key piece to everything's sure, I agree.
Yeah, definitely a key P key piece and you guys didn't go wrong either with Mark Marsh.
A lot of work, but I have a pick, another guy besides camera joining, I would have definitely got with martial law and let's move on to the our second team.
That will be talking about.
This is a team that finished last last year in the NFC South.
Kind of going in a different direction.
And that is the Carolina Panthers must before we get Yeah, but before we get to the Carolina Pan, I was excited for this one to four.
Yeah, I just You guys go, pig.
Okay, let's, uh, before we go to the Carolina Panthers, let's go with most improved player.
I'm gonna go with mine.
I'm gonna go with Alvin Kamara.
The reason why I'm gonna go with Alpha come Arias He had a slight down year whether it was because of a possible injury or not.
But I feel like Alvin Kamara is gonna be back.
You know, ID like Alvin Kamara is gonna prove, especially in a year where I believe he is a free agent after this year.
Because he's part of that 2017 running back class.
I think he's a free agent after this year, and I think in a contract year, I feel he's gonna have the life's out year.
I feel like he could have one of the best years of his career, which is why I believe I haven't asked the most most improved player.
I 100% agree with you, man.
I also have Alvin Kamara and, like you mentioned, he had a bit of a down year.
He had a breakout years.
Rookie year had a bit of a down years last year.
And if you look at today's NFL running backs, even today's NFL scouts and coaches, they look for guys that are running backs that are effective in both the run and the passing game.
And there's very few running backs there like that.
Jamal Williams is a great example of one, obviously Aaron Jones, Ellen Camaro, Christian McCaffrey.
But, I mean Alvin Kamara to me.
I mean, he definitely had a little bit of a down year.
He's going to solidify himself as being it's hot five running back.
I already put it in my top five, but in my question, I think I have Matt this, like when we were born on the air.
I see this, Caleb obviously data Kendrys off the board now because he was.
He got re signed with the Titans.
Do you think? I mean we all mother running backs have the quote unquote shelf life tag on them.
But if you look at next year's running back for aging classes got Alvin Kamara, it had McAfee.
McAfee is gone, but Alvin gets got album Camaro.
It's got Nick Szabo.
I very well think could hold out.
Um, it's there's multiple, like that list just goes on.
And a great Dalvin cook. Yup.
Do you think that next year's running back for a gym class could change? Like like I don't know how to, like, word this question.
But do you think that that class could change? You know, like how people view running backs as the way I see and Dominic Fox were mentioned this a few weeks ago and get up.
If the Giants are selecting Barkley with their second pick, why are you not paying them? Barkley is the franchise piece.
Barkley is the guy you want to build your offense around.
How are you not paying him? What do you think? I think it could change the landscape and the landscape.
I think that's what the word You Yes, I definitely do think it could change the last game just because of the amount of running backs that are gonna be free agents So they're gonna be going to different teams.
Uh, I really don't I don't know.
I feel like the contract with the young players.
It just depends on team, like, I don't think running backs with the largest, Especially with this class.
Those guys will still get their their contracts.
I don't think anything will change.
I just think it's It's It all depends on even.
Unfortunately, a lot of teams been thinking about going the younger route with running backs.
And it makes sense because, I mean, those teams often do you get rewarded like, I mean, the Kansas City Chiefs.
They don't have a top five running back, But I have a solid run in the fact that I did you a little bit and then have a great quarterback.
So e and I'm glad you brought that up.
Because achieves and the Niners are prime examples where he moster went undrafted.
He was cut by six different teams.
I'm not mistaking David Williams is either undrafted or a late pick, and that just goes to show running backs and it sucks to say that they have shelf like, but they're also the most easily replaced position in the NFL every time you hear.
I mean, shown statistically, but and statistics? Yeah, that was definitely true.
Eso So we can all agree that Alvin Kamara is gonna be the woman Saints most improved player 2020? Definitely.
I would agree with you.
I would agree with you on offense.
Inside the bar would definitely.
I think on defense is on the defensive side of the ball.
See markets Williams in the most guy.
He's one of those guys on defense that had that mistake against the Vikings of first time record.
I think he might got.
That might have caught the ball in the second time to, But I think he's a guy that had a good year.
This hasn't bad moments for like, this year.
You know he'll solidify.
That is his contract.
Is his contract years coming up soon, too.
So he's gonna have to show out, and I think that's gonna be my other guy.
It's that lost improved this year, that definitely a good selection there.
All right, now let's move on to the Carolina Panthers.
The Carolina Panthers, as we all know, they placed last in the NFC South and it's gonna kind of the end of an era.
You know, They made a lot, a lot of moves in the off season.
They basically released release Great Olson.
They released Cam New and Looky Klay retired, and they're they're moving in a different direction.
And it all started when, ah, they signed Christian McCaffrey making him the highest paid running back and the NFL.
And then on top of that, they added in Teddy Bridgewater, originally known as the back of the New Orleans Saints.
And he had a great year last year with the Saints, 25 You know, replacing Drew Brees when he heard his thumb and he was terrific guys. Payday.
I believe it was three years, $60 million.
They also added, in other weapon health.
Besides, besides Curtis Samuel D.
Moore, they added bra B.
Anderson two year, $20 million deal with the Jets from the Jets.
And then they also added Seth Roberts, who could be a key addition.
There also added a safety trade Boston in Boston as well.
Those are, in my opinion, the main the main big signings, and they also added in this is more like the first kind of XFL players who transition to the NFL.
They've brought into another.
Q B p J. Walker.
So, out of out of all those free agent signings, I'll start off with with you, Sam.
Are you most intrigued? Toe watch perform for the Carolina Panthers this year? Definitely.
The Packers wanted him for 10 plus 1,000,000.
I don't give him that money at all, but the wide receiver of their future is most definitely D. J. Moore.
But Robby Anderson? I definitely did not see that signing coming from them.
So I got Robby Anderson.
And I think that also speaks volumes that you brought up trade. Boston Trade.
Boston has been passed around by quite a few teams, and I think that definitely speaks volumes.
Um, for like I mean, I think this is what is 2nd 3rd stint with the Panthers because he's going the Panthers.
Note the Chargers creation for quite some time.
So I mean, a lot of these times I mean, the fact that he's this isn't his first time with the Panthers shows not only didn't speak volumes, it kind of seems like they're putting out of faith into him, and they're putting almost, like, prove it years on him.
L'm This seems like this might be his last chance to show to show that.
But I've got Robby Anderson got any water to be on inside.
I didn't starting quarterback for the price that he was that, but I really want to see him play.
I mean, yes, they have a really, really, really good year because, you know, people are looking at, um I mean, Cam Newton was released.
Yes. And big shoes to fill.
And I were on TV.
Do went to Carolina.
Gonna be arrival of the scenes are really excited to see if he could do.
And if you leave them into the playoffs, he's the guy.
Um, I didn't agree with the signing.
I thought they should start a quarterback, compared him with Caffrey and didn't just went that route Or maybe tried to take for Trevor Lawrence.
But okay, is what it is.
I'm happy for me.
Got his bag, got his chips.
So I just want to see what he could Dio.
Yeah, I I also got a tiny breaking Bridgewater as well.
I also want to see what today brings. What I can do is welcome.
Last time we saw Teddy Bridgewater start start A whole season was in 2015 when he was with the Minnesota Vikings, and he led them to the NFC North Division vision.
He won that division, so, you know, and we look at what he did last year with the Saints.
He was fantastic.
He didn't really turn the ball over a lot, and he basically didn't put in harm's way.
And I expect him to do that, do that same thing, sending you love, get it workable.
Although we talk about this on our podcast on time, you have to have that guy.
Its a difference between that guy.
That's a, uh, it's a regular quarterback giving a playoff, do something, but versus a superb old type of quarterback.
Teddy Bridgewater, The Teddy Bridgewater.
Is he that guys that could lead him to the Super Bowl? I just didn't see that with the same.
I mean, even if the Saints would have went like what's him and let Drew Brees go, I would have been like why Teddy Bridgewater is not a franchise quarterback like we're talking, waiting with Super Bowl.
Yeah, it will definitely be entering to see what what happens with Teddy Bridgewater, and he's gonna have a lot of eyes on.
You know, it's very rare that you see, like a three year, $60 million deal replacing a franchise star and Cam Newton because, I mean, let's be honest care.
Noon is probably one of the best none of players the Panthers about in the franchise since Steve Smith.
You know, since D.
Smith, senior of Julius Peppers.
You know, if you look at it, look at all time Carolina Panther greats, those those three players are gonna pop up on there.
So it will be interesting to see what happens with Teddy Bridgewater.
And I hope he does well, let's let's go to the NFL draft.
The Carolina Panthers.
They had They had a very active dress
