Good morning, everyone.
After a long weekend, we're alive here on FBC Radio Live because that's their name.
And that's what we do, folks, I am honored as always to be joined by.
You know, I'm now well, you know, miss many names.
But you know him now, as Mr That's right.
He's Mr Unlimited.
He's Mr Rhode Island.
He's Mr Mike Debate. Mike.
How's your weekend, buddy? Well, buddy, I guess the best way to put it for me would be loved from a day ago.
You know what? I have to Perfect that.
I was thinking over the over the weekend in between feeling fairly under the weather, folks.
But back at it today all seems to be going pretty well.
So we'll take it from there, But yeah, I gotta work on the thing.
I think that would be of Yeah, So I No, I like I like it.
I think your guy you know, I'm assuming what happened was over the weekend.
You just practice saying that too much.
And you lost your voice, and I I get it. I understand.
I mean, you want to know.
You've told me privately, and I won't trust me.
I won't tell anyone, But you know that you spent hours and hours in front of the mirror perfecting your ah, Rodney Dangerfield and other impressions.
But, you know, I won't tell anyone that'll that'll be our secret.
Uh, you, me and all of our listeners, Uh, hopefully, their straggling eso they didn't actually going to do, you know, they get no respect.
Respect? Yeah, we're gonna We're gonna have Rodney on here soon.
Don't worry, folks.
You know, again, he's a very busy man.
You know, sometimes you gotta You gotta wait.
You got to be patient.
We'll get him on there, but ah, we're excited to be back here this week.
Nice little three day weekend.
It happens, you know, way Take advantage of the the extra time that were ah were gifted here like we were yesterday morning.
Or at least I was.
And I think Mike was sleeping, but that that's fine.
Ah, NHL Stanley Cup playoffs start tonight for reals this time, Um, you know, we're talking 16 teams best to seven actual ah, traditional Stanley Cup playoff tournament.
Albeit, you know, the round Robin was fun.
Everything like that was fun.
It was great to see all that hockey, but obviously ah, NHL NFL is gearing up towards the season.
I mean, we're really only a month away, which is just absurd to think about.
It just does not feel like we're a fun away from the NFL season.
It just It just doesn't feel that way.
We're getting there.
So we gotta look, talk about, um we want to hear from you folks.
We really dio because you know what? I'm looking at our ah, call in screen.
Our dashboard and the last to text I see are from myself to Dylan Ross. Safe sports.
So, folks, I want you to let us know what you're thinking.
Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup? Uh, were you happy with the NHL draft lottery? We're gonna talk about it.
Give us your thoughts on the passing of Kamala.
We're gonna talk about that here in a minute, because I know our friend Chris Blacky is is certainly upset, as we all are, because again, another wrestler of yesteryear has passed, and that's always unfortunate.
So but give us call 626310 Triple 8 to 1 more time.
626310 Triple A to text call.
Leave us a voicemail.
If you don't really want to talk to us, please keep the vulgarity to a minimum.
I don't mind a little bit, but you know you know it's early.
It's only 8 30 in the morning, folks.
Let's let's let's ease into it for the day.
So, um, let's start.
We'll start there.
Ah, you know where I kind of just left off there because, you know, we we obviously have you spent any amount of time listening to the show, any amount of time, You know, that we are wrestling fans, So obviously, given our age, um, Mike is older than me.
If you didn't know, just wanted to let out there, so never remind everyone to Mike.
Thanks, but yeah.
Hey, you know, Well, I don't Yeah, well, again, You know, I just I just want to make sure that, you know, people are getting the right.
I always want to paint a accurate picture.
Let's put it that way.
And I think I've over over the course of of, you know, well, over 100 episodes, we've, um I've painted a pretty clear picture of who you are.
I I've been pretty accurate, right, Mike? I'd like to think so.
I like to think you can get a pretty good picture.
Well, I mean, you know, maybe maybe we'll Ah, you have.
Maybe we'll rethink that if we actually go through and listen back to some of things I've said.
But nonetheless, I like to try to paint a picture here, but, um, no, Obviously we're wrestling fans and, you know, given ah, grown up watching it late eighties, early nineties into the two thousands.
Um, you know, we kind of span that golden era into, You know, what we know is attitude, Aaron, And what it's evolved into today and one of the more unique ah ha personalities that ever graced the ah ah, WWF slash w w ring was was kamala.
And unfortunately, do too many health.
I mean, well, we'll talk about that here in a minute, but do too many health complications.
He you know, he unfortunately passed away over the weekend, so ah, to Kamala, to Our friend Chris, who was was rather, um, upset over it.
Got the great music when you heard that you knew there's, you know, you you know what was going down? Come on.
Actually, um, it's funny when ah, when our friend Chris took over the pig pad burned broadcast.
I use that music as his intro music per his request for his request.
Ah, I was either that or is the bushwhackers, But I'm actually glad I went with the Kamala and, um Yeah, you know, again I mean, we we talked about it.
What may be the last week or the week before.
It's like, you know, it seems like this is happening warm or and and again, we talked about the health issues.
I mean, Kamala, obviously he was He was diabetic, overweight.
He had ah, in his most, you know, last couple years of his life.
He had had both his legs amputated.
Um, and I believe he I mean, he was in a essentially a coma for a while. Correct.
I mean, if I if I remember correctly, like he was having so much, so many health complications, um, that he was basically the almost you know, bedridden for quite some time.
So, um yeah, yeah, I'm not complete.
I'm not completely sure it was coma.
I know. He was on dialysis.
It developed according to what I had ready had developed complications from Kobe 19 obviously with him being diabetic and, you know, being overweight, having respiratory problems, This caused severe problems for him.
He was never able to come out of it.
It induced the cardiac arrest, and he he died basically within the same day that he had suffered the cardiac arrest.
You just was never able to pull out of it.
So condolences to James James Harris's, uh, talking about, obviously.
You know, the stage name Kamala.
Looking back through some of his W W we archives and what not? You don't realize the career that he had in W W E.
And you know, I mean, obviously the the loss of the man for his family is the most tragic and sincere thoughts.
Condolences, Prayers go out to all of them, but it gives you a whole new found appreciation for the guy's body of work.
He had several matches in the early to mid eighties with Hulk Hogan.
Ah, a lot of them were WWF championship matches.
Onda had a great feud with the undertaker spot.
You know, guys like Bret Hart, Randy Sa***e, Jake Roberts.
So he's been in the ring with some of the great some of the VW Hall of Famers in some of the best of all time and was always a great former, you know? I mean, is persona outside The ring was so different from the character that he played in the ring on get he played it convincingly.
You would never have believed that he was just a normal guy that, you know, it was just a, uh, you know, good, fun loving, great human being.
You heard so many WWD superstars that have worked with him guys like, you know, taker Mark Alloway and Bret Hart.
But a nice tribute to him on his instagram page as well.
So, uh, you know, 70.
I mean, it's this is going to sound very insensitive, folks, and I don't mean that, but that's that's a life expectancy for a WWF wrestler that puts him ahead of the curve.
And really, it's sad to even say that because 70 is so young That's not an age that, you know, you're supposed to, you know, think about about dying.
Not in this day and age.
With the advances of modern medicine, people taking good care of themselves.
You would think the life expectancy would be higher.
But he's on the higher echelon of that where so many of his peers in their fifties and sixties and so many of them earlier than that, have, you know, separate a premature death.
But, um um he may have sold rest and you know, just his his legacy and the ring will live on.
You know, people will continue to watch his matches and you get a get a kick out of it.
I remember seeing him live at a few W W E events and again just put it on a great performance.
And, uh, you know, the This was his.
He played the character and he played the gim**** so Well, yeah, and and you know, that's the thing.
Going back to thinking.
Obviously we're talking about some of the stars of the ease and stuff and how just, you know, a centric.
A lot of these characters were I mean, that was just kind of the is the how the w w he did.
I mean, it was an exclusive grandma.
I mean, we talked about him all timing, that there's guys clowns and and honky tonk man.
And I mean, it was all playing a big character.
And that was obviously part of the fun and part of the, um, real appeal.
And like, you know, I don't think I'll ever get over him trying to get the crescent moon.
I like it just, I mean again thinking, think about some of the funny, uh, moments and stuff like that and he's had plenty of them.
I mean, like you mentioned.
I mean, he's he's been in the ring with a lot of, ah, wrestling grates over the years, you know, once that obviously, we grew up watching and all that.
So, um so, yeah, it it's sad.
I mean, again, I have given given his age.
I mean, that's sadly and we've spoken about this a lot on this show because it feels like we've done a couple of these Ah, um you know, remembering of wrestlers that have passed recently.
But you know it.
It's just one of those things It's the nature off the business, especially in that time frame.
He was part of obviously many wrestlers that that sued over, you know, brain rent injuries, uh, while participating, and obviously WWF slash w w we Ah, we obviously known a lot more about what some of these guys have gone through now, since we've learned obviously with advancements and learning about CTE and brain injuries, when it comes to two hits to the head blows to the head.
And we know you know, that era of wrestling there was you were not ah, immune to the head.
So unfortunately, that was, you know, some sad news, But again at that, you know it.
In hindsight, you can sit there and ah, remember the good times sort of speak and be thankful that again.
He did live a relatively long life.
Um, you know, compared Teoh some of his contemporary.
So, um you know, and I meant to actually bring this up to you privately, really send you a message.
Not like this was like a private thing, but, um, excuse me.
You know how we were talking about.
We're obviously talking about Phil Collins trending and how sometimes you know, you sit there and you see things on Twitter.
You see people on Twitter, you're like, Oh, no.
What happened to him? What did they will first, What did they do? And are they dead? I mean, those are really the two things that come to mind like, um and for the most part, depending on who's up there, it depends on who you think.
And and I said Okay, well, I saw Phil Collins in this three months.
This is like the Betty White thing.
You know, every time she pops pops up like, 67 times a year trending on Twitter and every single time, everyone just like, you know, you get, you know, take a deep breath, sit back and like, Oh, thank God, Well, coincidentally, or just a ironically, I don't know.
But later that day, Betty White was actually trending on Twitter, and I thought it was funny because I had brought that up on Friday.
But then I took a deep breath.
I was like, Oh, no clicked.
And it was fine.
It was just people appreciating Betty White and everything like that.
So I did think that was funny.
Anyways, back to Phil Collins because, uh, yeah, Teoh put a more positive spin on the morning since we started.
Kind of on a negative negative slope of a new beginning to do that.
But, you know Hey, it happens.
Ah, if anyone seen the video and I know you've seen it, but you haven't seen it with the little twist.
A little faux columns twist to it.
But if anyone seen the video of the kid riding down the street that crashes into trash cans, um, if you haven't seen it, please go.
Look, I'm retweeting it from my personal account right now at I g l e m 31.
Um, but it's funny.
I'm gonna play it right now, but you got You gotta watch it.
And in Mike, since you've actually seen the video, you're understand with the ah, the audio's coming here.
So let me, uh let me make sure this is a, um I I've watched that, like, 25 times this morning.
It's it's Oh, that's great lie.
I mean, look, there's a lot of people out there with a lot of free time and a lot of creativity.
Um, obviously, you know, when you see videos like this.
One of the first ideas anyone has is the to cut music over because, you know, hey, there's always something you can find But like I mean the ability for these people Teoh put this type of stuff together and, like, I mean, it was so funny.
Yeah, I mean, it was It was hilarious I like is that I encourage you now to go back and watch it with that sound, because that's the thing, too.
It's like, I don't know about you, but when I see, um, when I see videos, I don't necessary click on him because I just don't care to hear the sound.
Plus, I mean, too many people put up those you know, they click this and you click in and it's it's It's some adult film dubbed over, and it's just like I don't need that.
Come on now, I'm in public, but, uh, yeah, I I highly encourage it.
And, of course, their ties into us talking about Phil Collins last week.
Oh, it absolutely does.
And look, you know, some of the ways these things are edited and it really is amazing.
You know, just some of the ingenuity that you confined from amateurs.
The fact that we have a show in the morning.
I think his ingenuity from amateurs now folks were only kidding were only kidding.
He and I are pros, but in any skin, any stretch of the imagination.
I mean, some of this stuff is hilarious.
And in the s and, you know, we have we have an affinity for Phil Collins.
We've talked about that before.
I definitely do.
And any time you can add in the air tonight any type of the video, I'm gonna watch it. But this was good.
This was, uh yeah, I'm glad that you shared this with with our our viewing public, because I really think this is this is one of those videos that will be out on Twitter smattering around for the next couple of days.
Definitely take a Yeah.
Hey, look, if Rex Chapman steals it, you know, it's a good video.
So, um, we had got a Texan.
I'm assuming I'm assuming since I actually and I'm not assuming because I know the number.
But Kamala forever from from Chris Blackie.
So shut out to Chris thanks to Chris, but And in a very serious no.
Diabetes is a very serious thing.
So, folks don't take your health lightly.
Take care of yourself.
Make sure you know you're thinking ahead.
So, um, what was I going to bring up? I just had something that I was gonna talk about, and I feel like it was gonna be good, but it was that good.
I'd probably remember it.
So probably isn't that could to be honest with you, So I, uh I'm looking forward to obviously ah, hockey happening.
In the NFL, Lamar Miller signed with the Patriots.
That was kind of Ah, you know, I didn't see that coming.
I was someone that we haven't ever I don't think we've ever mentioned.
And I apologize if you pension.
And I missed it unlocked on patriots, but, um yeah, those interesting, citing.
But, you know, I kind of like it again.
You know, patriots and running back depth.
They go hand in hand.
I mean, this was one that came down yesterday and again, folks, little under the weather, it wasn't is on top of things I normally should have been, but This is not one that I had on my radar, and I don't think it's one that a lot of Patriots beat writers ****ysts had on theirs, either.
The Patriots were probably eyeing another option at running back, and I think we love to think that this was a running back corps that is stacked to the max and maybe it was at one point.
Well, maybe he's going to miss a little more time than they had originally thought.
Not that bringing in Lamar Miller is someone that's automatically going to leapfrog to the top of that running back or because I still think if Sony's unable to answer the bell to open the season, I think it goes to Damian Harris.
I think that they saw a lot in this ban a kid and I really like the way he fits into their running scheme.
But you look at Miller missed the 2019 season after he tore his A c L.
I think the Patriots have seen that when he was with Baltimore, definitely a productive running back.
So, you know, you look at what he's been able to do.
Ah, I like the addition.
Um, he's right? I look a season statistics, so his career statistics.
2934 yards, 13 touchdowns, 716 carries and three seasons.
He also caught 92 passes and scored five touchdowns.
The 92 passes out of the backfield.
Something you know.
The Patriots love their versatility in the backfield.
This is something that they covet in all of their backs, something I think they've shown a little frustration with at times.
With Sony Michelle last year, I can remember sitting there watching practices and nudging our good mutual friend Steve, Alice Terreri back and forth and sand.
Look, they got him working on drills he's trying to do.
They're trying to get him to catch passes out of the backfield.
They had guys Lee, you know, like like Hoyer and stick him in and Brady and everybody throwing them, throwing impasses, trying to see what they could do to cultivate that skills.
For whatever reasons, it never really stuck with Sony all that much.
But Harris is a guy that can do it.
I can do it and now Lamar Miller comes in and he has the ability to do that as well, so if you look at the way they're constituting this running back corps, I like the addition.
I think they wanted to go with a strong, solid running game this year to compliment someone like Cam Newton.
Are even Jared Stadium in the type of offense they're going to be running, which is going to be every year? Doses of those are pios the end routes, rolling out, utilizing the pocket but also getting quarterbacks away from the pocket as well.
A strong running game is absolutely necessary, so I like it.
I think it's a good move for them.
Low risk, high reward? Absolutely.
I mean, you know, Bill Bellatrix loves thes type of deals, but I wouldn't read anything too much into the long term health of Sony.
Michelle, I think this is a building peace.
Let me question whether
