ladies and gentlemen.
How's it go, Mrs Ray Route.
And you are watching SportsCastr news leases someone.
We are going to go as quickly as we can because we are afraid in just a moment.
Just like the wicked witch of the East or the West.
Er, when Dorothy left Kansas as storms whipped through Indiana, we're scared to lose my partner, Lawrence o, into a massive storm.
So we're going to go away quickly as possible.
And it just happens to be the day that we're talking about.
The Indianapolis Colts is the day we can't spend a whole lot of time doing it. And it was my idea.
I know. I seem that come up now.
Look what we're gonna talk about my team.
Are you kidding me? Let's get into a man. Your offensive coordinator.
Rookie Michael Pittman Jr says he's got great hands.
You said a lot of good things about him.
Lawrence, I'm just going to give you the floor for you to tell us about my educate me for 10 inches, you and I educate me on Michael Pittman.
I get a really in depth film room breakdown of Michael Pittman junior, right after the Indianapolis Colts selected him in the draft in the second round with their technically their first pick of the draft, even though they used their actual 1st 1 to trade for the forced Buchner.
But fact of the matter is, he's awesome.
I mean, he really is, um, for a second.
He should have been a first round pick.
He he's about my Kevin size right around 6465 about 2 25 But he ran a faster forties, and then Michael Evans, you know, he's a 44 guy.
I think he ran a 439 which is pretty darn fast.
Or 449 I can't remember it was 448449 something like that.
It was faster than Michael Evans, and, you know, my Kevin thereby knows who he is.
Michael Pittman has got a lot of tools, all right, Uh, he's got really, really strong hands at the point of attack, which is very important for a guy his size.
For a guy who does 50 50 catches, which is obviously what Philip Rivers absolutely loves.
He's loved every day that he's been, and the Chargers are normal, said said Diego, Uh, but Pittman's.
He probably needs to work a little bit on its route running.
Um, he didn't have a lot of that at USC.
Uh, he is a very good run blocker.
Something that I noticed on the take.
That he does not get credit enough for is his run blocking ability.
And that's going to be huge.
That's going to allow him to stay on the field even more for the Colts, because everybody knows that Frank, right? And it's Indianapolis Colts team is going to try to run behind that offensive line with Jonathan Taylor and Marlon Mack the majority of the time, which means that play action pass off.
But that's going to look even more believable because Pittman will be there before when they're running it, and when they decide.
You know what, We're just gonna throw it over the top, so this is just so much really in the pocket of Michael Pittman Jr.
The only thing is really holding them back is that he's a rookie this year, right? I am.
White receivers already have issues in their first year.
It takes him a little while to understand the playbook, getting used to the new quarterback system, getting used to dealing with top and cornerbacks on a weekly basis, right of the NFL range.
Now, now, throw that into the fact that they just now got in, you know, to the facility this past week and is just now starting to catch footballs from his quarterback.
So of course, that's going to be the way it is with every team.
But rookies air really gonna really going to take a hit on that for this season.
So because you missed all the O.
A s and it will everybody missed Goth because you missed all the I'm going to be just a questionnaire today, Okay? Cause I'm gonna give you the floor to brag about your team.
If you're good with that, that's fine.
Um, so because he missed the O.
A s and all that kind of stuff.
Brand new quarterback to the team whose court of learning the new system we know they're gonna be a running team.
We expect to see him blocking a lot.
But give me two answers, Okay? The 1st 1 is if he would have been there from the beginning.
Like if this would have been a non covert year, what would his role have been with the team? And now how is it different being in the covert era? Okay, Um, had he been part of the team and, you know, O T A's and training camp and everything went off without a hitch.
Without any covert, he would have had time to get the playbook down toe work with his quarterback, work with other wide receivers, work against actual professional defense's and understand how toe toe use his size and ability against professional guys rather than just college guys on a consistent basis.
He may have been, uh, more of, ah, high end mawr.
Uh ah, quality starter at the beginning of the season, right? Um, Rivers probably would be able to trust him a little bit near, But now that we're so I don't I don't know if he's gonna have the star that he would have had otherwise.
I don't know if, ah, he's going to get his many snaps the first say two or three games, right until he really gets locked in.
Because government no preseason, either right so, I mean, he ain't gonna get no kind of looks against a different team until he actually plays Week one.
So it's It's gonna take a little bit of time for him to kind of adjust to the NFL level.
So he's not going to get that start.
And I wouldn't expect too many targets for him.
Would expect too many snaps warm.
Probably 15 snaps a game.
You know, Total.
You might get a few targets here and there might might go up that you never know.
I mean, he might just walk out the gate exploding, but most likely he's gonna probably have issues that he's gonna have to work out now.
Had their then O.
A's and all that, they have been a much different story.
I think he would have would have came out and they would have given him probably 70 80% of the snaps on offense, right? And and then then that would have probably been a whole lot better.
Look, starting out the gate.
Okay, So did the Colts need him this season, like was, was Michael Pittman Jr.
A player they not only needed to draft, was he a player they needed to draft and perform in 2020 for them to, I guess, reached the aspirations that before I finish the question, I mean, I think what we need to make clear here is a lot of people I believe, at least are.
And I'm gonna say there's a Patriots fan, so it doesn't look like Homer's.
Ah, lot of people are underestimating just how good the Indianapolis Colts are going to be this season.
But did they need Michael Pittman to kind of be at that level? Or is this still Houston's division toe win when the Coal and the Colts have a chance? Honestly, I think without Pittman, I think the courts still fight solid for the A F C South.
Look, I think Pittman, the Pittman pick, was too good to pass up for where he was at and the fact that he fit what the Colts needed at on offense At that time, right? They needed a big, fast 50 50 guy who go up catch the football.
They have not had that in recent years.
Zach Pass school is a guy that that was doing that last year, but he was Ah, four string receiver, great great run blocker as well.
But he's not at that next echelon.
Like where you want a receiver like him to be, right? Um, I Pittman is more of a security blanket, really pick than anything granted.
Expect him to end up being the starter, you know, and pick up by by mid season.
But they already had T Y Hilton Paris Campbell, right? And they had Zach Pascual stepped up last year, but the problem was, they have so many injuries last year, Michael Pittman Jr did not have any injuries in college ever.
Never missed a frickin game, which is a huge benefit for this team.
That's kind of a security.
We know he's going to be there right, whereas parents Campbell, whose not necessarily a small guy.
He's six foot over £200 you know.
But he's not that big dude, that that Julio Jones sized guy, that that Mike Evans size guy that a lot of teams really need to be as their number true Number one. I mean, the Colts.
True number one's been since 2012 t White Hilton, right? Well, Reggie wangle their true number one in 2012 and 2013.
And then after that it's been T y Hilton, who's a little five foot 10 do you know, £180? So this is this is a really nice change, and I think that adding him, adding him was the correct move by Chris Ballard, but it wasn't absolutely necessary, but it was definitely expected.
Okay, who would you? What would be his best comparison if you're going to compare him to somebody in the NFL right now? Said his name, like five times Mike Evans. Yep.
I truly believe that he is a Mike Evans type of blood receiver.
Um, now, that's his ceiling.
Now, I'm not saying that he's walking out the gate or ever even will be Mike Evans.
But that is his best comparison, in my opinion.
Now, some of the he could end up being like a and Alan Robinson, right? Uh, which is still, you know, productive, but at times under used.
Okay, so Mike Evans is a hell of a comparison.
I mean, I'm just going to throw that out there.
Yeah, I think he's a top five wide receiver.
Like I said, though, I mean, I don't think that Michael Pittman is gonna end up throwing out Mike Evans numbers in the next year or two.
I mean, it takes a while for a wide receiver to get to understand anything.
So get to understand playing in the NFL in at this level, so I wouldn't I wouldn't When you say any times when, when you say anytime soon, could you see it happening in the next? I don't know.
Could you see it happening this season? Or maybe two seasons from Alba would be your prediction.
My best guess is you might start.
You might see hints of it throughout the season and then near say, we nine, you'll start seeing a little more.
And then I think, I think by the end, by maybe 15 16 17 you might start seeing warm or of him starting to get get down.
How to play in the NFL and getting that true connection with the rest of his teammates and trusting and getting that understanding with his quarterback was We've set it off 1,000,000 times between you and I hear on SportsCastr that the biggest thing about a wide receiver is to know your quarterback know what the quarterback wants to know, where he wants you to be, at what time and how he's.
And then the quarterback needs to know where the wide receiver wants the football, right? The quarterbacks got a responsibility in that as well.
Some some wide receivers like it out, huh? Well, out in front of them and a little bit high.
Some of them, like, you know, kind of right in between their numbers.
Some of them like it low.
So that is less chance of a knitter section that's more of a T y Hilton thing he likes.
He likes those low thrown balls where he could just catch it and then, you know, not have to work about kidding it.
So So I'm going to assume a lot of people watch you on your other channel.
But for those of you them who don't and because this seems to be the somehow the Baltimore Ravens fan page, no matter what teams were talking about, it somehow always has to be compared back to the I'm gonna start calling them the overrated Ravens view than the way that they could talk to.
But sometimes on here, take a much or little time as you want.
But tell me, Tell the people you made a bold prediction saying that the ifs basically the A f C South is is the Colts to lose this year.
You what? I mean, it's their division.
That's a big call, considering it's been Houston's division with the last four years.
Three years, three years.
Last three years.
There have been three years since two years since the Colts made the playoffs, right? They got knocked out in 2018 to Kansas City.
Didn't make it last year.
No, Andrew Luck, old man.
As I you know, we've come to call him, um, why air the Kansas City Chiefs or the Indianapolis Colts story? We talked about three teams on this.
Why're the Indianapolis Colts on? Hopefully your roof doesn't blow off before we get this answer.
Why is the South fares? Well, beer again about it to be arrogant.
All right, there is it maybe three teams in the NFL that can handle the Indianapolis Colts run gang, period.
Their offensive line is just dominant.
And would you got a running back to different running backs that are One of them is an established running back in the NFL who has got highlight reels of his own, where he could just make moves upon moves upon moves.
And Marlon Mack.
He's got so many different.
You could sidestep you.
He could step up.
You could step farm.
Yeah, I think he put three step farms in one in one run for a touchdown and then, in another run for a touchdown, he did a double spin move from completely different.
You know, he's got moves upon moves and he's the kind of guy that could go inside.
And then if it's not there, he could break that sucker outside and break off a big run.
And that's with that offensive line.
Then you got Jonathan Taylor, who's walking in, and if he can hold onto the football, that's the only thing that really is.
Holding him back, in my opinion, is if he does not drop the football because, let's face it, averaging six fumbles every season is kind of a little bit of an eyebrow raiser, but still averaging 6.
5 yards or carried um, over three seasons and averaging 2000 yards on the ground.
Averaging over his three seasons in college is just like holy crap, and he does that in a completely different way.
He's a bulldozer, right? He'll run right up the gut and just use the juicy all offensive line and bruised the heck out of people.
And then, if he gets past that front seven, somehow he's gone because he's got the 44 speed.
He can outrun corners if he needs to.
So the run game and in and of itself last year approved it.
Maybe that was called had no type of decent passing past Week eight and yet still still was averaging 4.
5 yards a carry in those games, and teams knew they were going to run it.
And then we're gonna throw it very much this year.
They have a passing game.
Their wide receivers are healthy, at least currently, and we'll t wise nursing a hamstring, which is not any kind of news, because he's been doing that for three years.
But we got Jonathan Taylor as well.
You got an iron man at a quarterback who hasn't missed a game and what 16 years? Yeah, I mean, my goodness, that's that's unbelievable.
That's that's like Peyton Manning Brett Bar kind of stuff, right? Um, the only question in the passing game is is Phil a farm still there? And we're gonna find out, right? We're gonna find out at this at this Colts line, protects him and gives him that extra second where he doesn't have to make ah split second decision to throw the ball downfield because he's down by 14 because the rest of it, because you know, is the rest of his offense just wasn't very good.
And he kept getting blitzed all the time.
He doesn't have to throw those interceptions anymore.
He'll have time to do check downs, timeto wait for routes to come open.
I just and then the defense.
The Coast defense is really, really good, especially with the new additions they've got with the forced Buckner and all of them.
I'm a little bit more high on savior Rhodes. Pick up.
A lot of people are because the past two years where he has slipped the last couple seasons out of the All Pro is because he's just been heavily injured those two seasons.
So I believe that if he could stay healthy, he could return to at least a Pro Bowl level, if not an all Pro level.
I think the Coulter stacked.
A lot of NFL fans out there are sleeping on the Colts.
Um, just they just look at him.
Go well, They were seven and nine last year.
What would that there's context behind that seven and none, right? Yes.
So OK, I don't know how much more I can ask you about the Colts, buddy.
I I could talk all day about the court's Oh, I know you love me.
Let me tell you what.
Okay, I think there's a legitimate chance that there could be three playoff teams coming out the A F C South.
I think the Texans offense is very, very good.
Um, their defense is going to be questionable depending upon of J J Walking.
That's that's the big question on their defense.
Um, I think the Titans, they've been nine and seven the last three years.
They make the playoffs barely.
You know, you're in, you're out.
And the colts, I think I'm gonna win the division this year.
So I mean, if you get even 11 5 10 and 69 and seven, there's a good possibility all three teams end up in the playoffs.
And then Jacksonville is just in No, no kind of position to really hold onto really anyone at this point in time in a F C South, because there are in the S here in the NFL at all.
But they're basically in a completely total rebuild, like Miami was last year.
Um, but no, I I seriously, I think that, um, I think the colts of being slept on way too much.
I think they're they're linebacking corps.
It's slept on a lot.
They have ah, Mike linebacker named Anthony Walker Jr.
He had less snaps then Darius Leonard last season, but more tackles.
And yet Gary's Leonard is considered a tackle machine, right? So that's that's got to say something about, you know, Oh, Anthony Walker.
He also leaves the defense.
He's that Mike guy.
He's the coach on the field.
His father is a college coach.
He goes out there and he studies film the day after a game.
He studies the next week's film without his coaches, you know, and just by himself studies the offensive line, the blocking schemes, the quarterbacks, the running backs.
He studies it all rights notes down.
That goes out to his linebacker buddies like various Leonard and Bobby Ocurre IKI and says, Hey, this is a bunch of stuff that I saw.
We need to start practicing against this kind of stuff, and that's without the coaches in the room.
So I don't doubt your Indianapolis Colts.
I don't doubt your Houston Texans, but you in Joe in the rest of the NFL world have to get over this whole Tennessee Titans thing.
They had their run.
After they beat the Patriots, I was cheering for the Titans.
I thought Cinderella story, just like the last time they went to the Super Bowl with Cinderella, you know, they weren't supposed to beat Jacksonville.
Jacksonville looked like the best team in the A F.
Yeah, Titans took care of business, but in the Super Bowl, eventually what happened is the better team won, and that's what happened last year with Kansas City.
I do not have faith in the Tennessee Titans.
I like Mike Vrabel.
I don't like Ryan Tannehill.
They lost an offensive lineman.
They've lost some defenders.
They have an MRI Kingdom.
King Henry is King Henry.
What? To me? That's all.
Ryan, you've lost.
Ah, the defensive lineman there.
What's his name? Rail Casey.
General Casey, you lost one of your best offensive linemen in free agency.
And I don't think that I just I don't see it this year.
I don't see it for the Titans.
Maybe I'm wrong.
I know a lot of guys air high on him.
Maybe this is maybe this is my Buffalo Bills.
You what? I mean, like the way Joe is with the Bills.
Maybe this is my Buffalo Bills.
This is maybe a 17 when I don't think seven games is enough to make the playoffs.
I think there's too many teams that are gonna win more than seven games to make the playoffs this year.
To be fair, we all have that one team that were not high on, right.
I mean, Joe's got the bills.
You got the Titans.
I'm I'm not a charger fan.
So I like their defense.
I don't think that's like to I guess I have two teams.
You know, I'm not a charge fan, either.
I know they have weapons.
I've been educated a 1,000,000 times over.
But, you know, um, I'm not sold like I seek its call it exactly.
Me neither, but yeah, I think I think that Ah, really? To me, I think I think the courts have the A f c South.
The Texans have won the division 33 years in a row, so you cannot put them out there.
Still, the division champs.
We'll have to beat them to take that from them.
I just fully expect that to happen right there, said.
I just Do I fully expect it to happen? The Coldplay in RG Stadium always really, really well, especially T y Hilton.
I think T y Hilton averages something like 124 yards and two touchdowns in NRG.
It's the second home.
So, um, the Titans, like I said, they've been 973 years straight.
You know, they the only thing that they're gonna have to really get over is the loss of the right tackle in Conklin and that defense of capture the loss of General Casey's gonna hurt him.
I think it's gonna hurt more than what Conklin losses because he was that guy who could really stop the run up the middle.
He was He was a clogger, and he couldn't put some pressure on quarterbacks when needed.
So I would I would go as far as saying he's one of the big reasons for the Baltimore one.
Yeah, probably pretty good.
And now he is not on that team.
No more for those police sirens or tornado sirens.
That was police.
Actually, I think it was, uh, fire truck sirens. Okay.
I just heard the sirens went. Oh, no.
Here comes No, I I've been here in the thunder in the background, but it's been really low rumbling.
So we'll tell you what, Lawrence.
We went 25 minutes.
We got you through without a power outage we got you through without really your WiFi crap.
You know, which is always great.
It was only the two of us, so maybe it's time to say goodbye.
Thank you, Lawrence, for educating me on the Indianapolis Colts.
Hey, that's no problem.
We don't get to talk Coates very often, so this is kind of fun for me.
I'm just I'm just upset that Joe wouldn't here because I would love to tell him that as much as he thinks that the Ravens gain.
Ah, and Week nine is going to be easy.
I think he's in for a lot of a lot of trouble in that game.
I think he is, too.
I don't think, look, I still have the Ravens, but I don't think it's going to be an easy game whatsoever.
I think it's one of those games that legitimately could go.
I'm gonna lean towards the Ravens just because I you have to do you have to? Yes, it is now.
If it was Kansas City, I would say any Beach, Kansas City.
Like I said then I am more worried about the Baltimore Ravens in the Kansas City Chiefs and no cheese vans hate when I say that. But it's true.
Yeah, I fear them a lot more than I fear that I fear the Chiefs, the Chiefs, you know what to expect from them.
Baltimore, You really don't you don't know.
Is Lamar gonna run the ball for 180 yards against your as you go throw it for 300 right? I mean, you have no idea.
And that's the beauty of having a Lamar Jackson a quarterback and the beauty of having hardball at head coach.
Yeah, it's totally unpredictable.
It's totally crazy.
Look, I see clipped thumb crowd pleaser in David.
96 year on the chat large.
You did most of the talking today, so let me do the pitch.
Here's the problem, you freeloaders.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Ray wrote in Lord's Own a SportsCastr News.
I'm worried that Lawrence's roof is gonna blow off and he's not going to get down to a storm cellar.
I know the Midwest is getting just destroyed right now by big storms.
Tornado sirens going everywhere.
Well, I'm thinking about you, Lawrence.
Keep me updated tonight.
I hope you stay safe.
And ah, I'll tell you what, man.
I don't want a bright.
It's sunny and hot here right now, so hopefully it stays that way.
We don't got to deal with these storms that everybody khanna is ah is dealing with right now in the East and West, everybody's getting kind of nailed with storms right now in United States.
I mean, it's 2020.
I'm expecting frogs to start falling from the sky soon.
Like, just to be honest with fire and brimstone, that Z um we didn't get into college football today.
I kind of wanted to wait till Joe came in so we could have a deeper conversation about that.
Because there's gonna be some big, big, big implications when it comes to the draft.
When it comes to other things, I'm hearing rumors about eligibility.
Maybe Trevor Lawrence plays one more year college, and you know, so there's a lot of things to talk about, but I want to wait.
All three of us are back on the cast.
Hopefully, your house is still standing tomorrow.
Knock on wood and ah, we'll chat tomorrow, buddy.
No, that's right. Great.
Take care, guys.
See a have a good one.
