you're getting more hectic of by the moment.
But we came out of this weekend, man for the N b A and go back to Saturday and it felt like maybe that little bit of shots behind.
I like it with a lot more controversy than I anticipated being the case.
And, uh, game game backs up his words, Man, that post game press conference that he gained what he gave, where he was like, Yeah, Patrick Beverley, Paul, George.
Like, these guys know my name.
They know what Ideo head like.
I remember it, but it was just like he had that ready to go.
He's like, Yeah, I send guys home.
That's my things.
OK, you know, I missed on free throws.
And then turn right back around, give you 51 point performance the next day and keep them right in the thick of this playoff fun Dame time The closer send you home.
It's closing time when his dame time You gotta love it.
It's ah, competitive.
It's also petty.
I like I like the Betty that these guys keep other sports.
I feel like don't have this level of Pettiness where words from last year.
Obviously, Paul George got sent home and sent out of O.
Because, uh, that bad shot, as he said in the shot of the game conference, It was a bad shot.
Yeah, that that's thank you home out of the playoffs and out of O. K.
By the hands of one Damian Lillard.
And no one forgot about that.
And now in the bubble.
Damian Lillard is playing against the Clippers.
He's not playing against Paul.
George is not playing against Pat Beverly.
There on the side there are there courtside, having a blast as he misses two free throws at the end of that game to lose it and kind of blow the game for the Portland Trail Blazers that need every single game.
And those guys went right to Instagram.
Bleacher report was all over it with the Post and Pat Beverly rights.
Ah, Cancun on three with You were sending you home this year, and Damian Lillard says, keep switching teams.
Paul George, a duck in the grind.
You boys, these chumps.
I'm like, Wow, these guys are really like in the same place, playing basketball and then getting online to continue it.
I love that whole dynamic it.
It really gets the kids going Well, there's only thing I pointed out.
There's something funny like these guys were talking trash on social media to one another.
You're just seeing each other.
You're passing each other all day long, like you could be just drawing at each other down in the bubble.
And I think it actually cooler like sheer.
The rumors that these guys were getting after each other in the cafeteria let you know old school media on the play around kind of day that opposed Teoh.
Just throw in jazz across the Internet.
So it's funny, man.
And it's also to the point like you expect this from Dame because he's been so out.
Want to stay in Portland? Want to do is thing here.
It's not surprising that he's also a guy that looks at a polling George, whether or not he ah wholeheartedly believes what he said or just, you know, has the inclination when he's getting jammed in a little bit.
That yeah, man, you wanna bounce around? You want take a one year? Stop it.
See, I'll send you home from there.
You want to go to out to L.
A and joined Kawai? Guess what? Like you may see us, you may find this man.
And if I said you home again on your new team, on your high team, will we see it? Who's, you know, making those gestures and check in the watch there at the end of the game.
So it's great to see that in, Ah, a bubble.
And in the playoffs, that scenario.
Where to touch on these guys briefing.
Like where the pelicans were the height team.
That's what everyone's so excited about.
They seem to do it all the wrong way in how to use Ion and went to push him for Max minutes.
They fall by the wayside.
The Grizzlies look at their phone, admit they hang on.
The five and O sons were rolling their for a beat, but they don't know if they're gonna quite get there like it's such a great mix, especially in the Western Conference of just like everybody ready to nip it.
Each other's heels and everyone is competitive every night.
You don't know who is gonna win.
I've been playing the Spreads, and I had a hot run for a little while, but then guys start resting and not playing every game.
And it's like, Okay, I don't know to pick here, but it's entertaining, uh, to see the sons go 50 they've never played this good.
They've been hot before, but they've never played this good Devin Booker for eight.
And even guys like Cam Jordan campaign like these guys are young, fresh legs.
They're out there balling, and they'll take on any competitors.
And I love that.
I'm getting March Madness vibes from this bubble.
I'm getting Cinderella team vibes from this bubble like, you know, 12 seed looking to take out the five seed like they don't care that you're a five seed.
You got to step on the quarter, every you gotta run with us every night.
You got to step out there and run with whoever you're against.
And the bubble has literally just given us a slate every day from like 12 o'clock in the afternoon to 12 o'clock at night.
Okay, all of these games are competitive.
They're superstars. In every game, there's matchups.
There's playoff stakes on the line.
There's beef on the line.
You got guys like Kyle Lowry telling Aaron Gordon his room number.
I'm in room 8 36 comes TV like like you're not? No, you don't want him.
Come knock on your door you don't want But they say they say the state lotteries got that dog in a man.
He's got that top 10 minutes on the court.
Aaron Gordon is twice his size.
You probably should have told him the wrong brother did.
He probably didn't tell him the wrong number.
Ninth floor. There's only seven stories this building, Larry.
I understand what's going on in the performance.
Come on, come see me when you look at eso and then the Western Conference and up and down team in a surprising team Coming.
This was the Spurs.
They lose the physical onto for, to lose, to win, to lose, to win, too.
As much as the talking, I was gone and direction of the Blazers.
And then you don't get that playing game and almost feel like we all just assume that they'll beat the Grizzlies.
That that's what it takes.
Would it be deflating that I think right now, the Spurs doing what they're doing with basically an entirely new rotation pop doing his thing.
If they ended up making the eighth seed, it wouldn't feel like Oh boy, like watch out, Lakers, Where is right now? If the Portland gets there, you at least feel like Boy, that's gonna be an intense series because you have all these veteran players, guys that have experience like that.
Would you be disappointed if it isn't if it is important? Is it Portland or no one else right now of Well, it's not just Portland, cause here we'd like to see Memphis.
We like to maybe see the sons, but like the Spurs, no popular, a great coach.
He's doing this thing.
But without LaMarcus Audrey's like like I don't know, like these guys that are out there are playing tough.
They're playing hard, but that is not the matchup you want to see.
Everybody is pulling forward.
They want to see mellow out there with Bron.
We've had the Brondello Robert rivalry for so long, like, why not get one more go at it? They want to see dame time.
They want to see CJ McCollum out there.
They want to see Nurkic back with them.
And if they can give the Lakers some trouble, which the Lakers haven't necessarily shown us in the bubble that they're going to dominate, I know they're resting guys.
I know they clinched the one seed last week and it was like, OK, the Lakers were taking their foot off the gas, But to me, I haven't seen enough out of the Lakers.
They haven't been able to score.
And what I've seen in this bubble is is way more team basketball.
Then what we're used to seeing, right? You know, you got guys like game that can drop their 40 points a night.
But, like with LeBron and a D, they both have to go off every single night.
They don't have enough around them without a brute.
Um, like some of these other guys around them.
Caruso, Danny Green, Dwight Howard.
Like even Dion waiters and J.
Smith, they can't be expected to put up 20 points and saved the day in the incoming clutch.
It's on LeBron in a d.
So if we're talking West, we're talking that matchup.
You want to see LeBron and a D vs C J.
McCollum and game time in that first round the Spurs.
I think they handle the Spurs.
It wouldn't be as exciting.
The Grizzlies, they, you know, they lost Jaren Jackson.
I mean, I'd still like to see John Durant, but then losing Jaren Jackson.
That's, uh, they're not at full strength.
You want to see teams like the Blazers who are now at full strength with Nurkic back play against the Lakers and maybe steal a game or two.
Maybe I don't think they beat a miniseries, but maybe they give us one or two games were like, Wow, you know, the Blazers actually held their own against the well, by the way, one of them is, even though we don't think about him the way we used to, Rajon Rondo is supposedly going to come back to the Lakers.
But when he first got hurt and they said they said, Well, you know well, something to be back in round two.
But I also think they they were kind of looking at and saying because we're not gonna get pushed that hard around one, so we don't worry about it.
We can afford to come back, so they're gonna have a little bit of a concern there.
We'll dive outside here, man.
As our 23 just threw down that Dane is the best point guard in the league.
Curry is looking at this like I don't forget about.
I'm not over here to do, you know, to make any problems for you.
But over the weekend as well, there's a kid playing out there in Dallas and this got a when asked the question What? What were you thinking when you went between your own legs, bounce pass into the lanes to find your man? Frustration, he goes, I don't know.
I wasn't really thinking.
I just do what I want out here.
This is my court.
I've been doing this for a while.
Luca is ridiculous to talking about a team that and we will.
You, me and ah, Matt Brooks were having this discussion to where I was high on them.
Coming in just is a, you know, dangerous team.
Ah, cooled off on because I felt like inexperience was catching them a little bit.
And now for the right time, on the back end of this.
They didn't have anything to gain in terms of positioning seven seas where they're gonna live.
But you're talking about again, that first round matchup with the Clippers.
Like I don't you know, we talk about Portland to the same thing, for it's gonna be for Dallas or any of these teams if you're taking on, especially with the L A teams, because they're both sound defensively.
Certainly more depth for the Clippers.
But that's what it is.
The defensive end.
Do you think that that's Portland's going to shortcoming that they just can't lock it up on D when they need to for the handful possessions.
That's kind of what costs them on over the weekend against the Clippers, the first time in over a seven game series.
Either one of these teams is just gonna be about Can you really the lock and listen, Burkett.
You got a lot of opportunity or four, but can they do it? A lot of these teams are well, they should be worried about their defense.
We seem like, Yeah, we see every night these guys score over 105 points, even like not to throw my nets under the bus, But I watched the next game against the Celtics and the Celtics put up 149 points.
I was like, Who are we just not playing defense? Where does not like I don't know what to do here.
So when you look at it, it's all gonna come down to matchups and who can defend, and we're seeing a lot of teams like the Rockets right there, going small ball.
They're trying to literally break the lead with this small ball.
Guys that can shoot guys, I can dribble.
It's gonna come down to matchups.
You know, teams like the Clippers.
I watched the Nets play last night against the Clippers, having a guy like zoo bots at the live having a you know, Nurkic with the Trailblazers at the five.
Like it, it's gonna when we get into the playoffs, it's gonna come down to matchups.
And who can defend the post? Who can defend the perimeter? Who can match up best against these guards? Um, I think you see the defense step up when playoffs make these games more do or die.
Some of these guys might be kind of, you know, pulling back a little bit like I'm not gonna check them too hard, you know? But it is gonna come down to defense, and I expect the defense to go up.
And there are some teams that they're just gonna be overmatched.
Well, that's, you know, a little touch over to the east here for a minute.
You mentioned the next there before they arguably maybe just the most surprising run that they've got on the bubble.
Obviously having deep Milwaukee, they go ahead and beat the Clippers, another team that again can impact in terms of their standing.
But big picture.
The Pacers look like a team.
Is this sustainable for T.
J Warren? Probably not.
But by the way, man, he was averaging almost 20 a game for the year.
Right? So all of the sudden, you look at that roaster with Sabonis on, you throw it, you fill him in there when Brogdon rajan is gonna be there.
Aziz Well, you think about ah, Well, I'm gonna lose track of their big man.
Oh, power forward.
I'll find him in a second. Here.
They have a roller coaster on the Indiana.
Yeah, I got his face He's in the commercial with the, um now Myles Turner, Uh, in the commercial where they tell you to wear the mask, that roster now because somebody asked me this on social media today about how you know, is there a shift in terms of who the leader team leader is there? Given the Victor Oladipo situation, I said, Listen, man, at the very least well, you now know, is for a team that's a smaller quote market and you're not gonna track it.
Big guys in free agency, you've got stability.
Your entrench there in the 6th 7th may be up to the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
You can afford to jettison Victor Oladipo and bring in more quality players that you can control because they have guys under contract for the next two and three seasons s.
A bonus, I think, is under until 2024.
So things they're like even a team that maybe doesn't have big aspirations this year in the bubble, and this goes into the nets as well is proving a lot for themselves about what the future outlook is.
For that, I mean thoughts on the thoughts of the cases men, Man, there's so much about the next since it should be excited about.
Yeah, I like what the Pacers have done.
Obviously, the talk is around.
J. Warren and, ah, lot of people.
A lot of people have said this about T.
So you mentioned he was averaging almost 20 points.
I think he was averaging like 18 80 18.
8, and now he's averaging 33 a half.
So that's almost double.
That's almost double what he was averaging before the MBA shut down.
People were saying about TJ warned that like a some some guys can turn it on in practice, but they can't turn it on the same in the arena.
Whether it's a distraction of the fans, the different sights, sounds, the lights there, like some of these guys are gonna come to Orlando and go off because it's more like a practice setting.
It's more like a scrimmage setting.
There isn't all these fans, and I think T. J. Warren is that guy.
We've seen this guy literally go out of his mind.
I cannot wait till eight o'clock tonight.
There's no Yankee game on the Pacers play the Miami Heat.
I have had this circle for about two weeks.
Jimmy Butler did not play, and I think three or four games straight.
But he's gonna be back for this tonight.
We know about that rivalry.
We know about what they said and what went on earlier in the season.
And if if the Pacers can beat the Heat tonight, the heater favored by four if the Pacers could beat the Heat tonight. And if T. J.
Warren can still be the M V p of the bubble that he's been with Jimmy Butler on him with Jimmy buckets checking him, then I got to believe in the Pacers.
And, yeah, their future looks bright.
They've found something in this bubble.
They've got a few guys and Victor Oladipo, you know, honestly, they played better without him.
Um, he's gotta figure out his role and what he can, what he can do and be.
But like I feel like that's just a switch, you know, once he figures out his role a little bit more like he knows, he said TJ words out of his mind.
He's playing out of this world once he figures out where to fit in with that.
You never know if today if Jimmy Buckets checks T.
Warren today, Maybe today is the day that Victor Oladipo goes off for 30.
Indeed, by beautiful from injury, the offense is side of things.
Could be a little bit harder to find your rhythm and get back in your feet back underneath you.
But you see it all the depo complicit, nice defensive plays.
That's something that he hangs his hat on.
So you've even seen a couple of those sequences to let you know the value that this guy obviously brings the table for you.
It'll be interesting to see that that game tonight is definitely a nice little much.
Must watch one there.
Um, let's let's get out of here on this idea.
The Nets have these big games.
Have a good time, just kind of gloating about it.
It looks like a couple of things.
It looks like I'm a Kenny Atkinson fan, but it looks like there's something else there that the Jacque Vaughn understands about these players and about the system getting Jared Allen up out there into the high post in his passing.
I mean you can make.
You could argue that the delay off, maybe, is when Allen had some time to work on some of these things.
But this just feels like a skill set that was waiting to be utilized in some ways.
And maybe behind navies behind yonder Jordan or just Kenny Atkinson.
Not knowing, not not realizing that what you could use them for.
What? What is your What is your excitement about the Brooklyn Nets going? It means I'm going next year, man.
Where with these superstars back? Amazing.
We're all excited.
We all know what the goal is. Championship.
But now all of a sudden, the role guys.
I mean, I love Joe Harris, and I can't believe that.
I mean, that I'm even higher on it.
I mean, we're talking about 16.
17 million to get him back here.
Guess what? Like your maybe pushing towards 20.
He never getting himself a 1,000,000 Indians were lying out there.
Yeah, you pay that guy.
You don't let that guy think about going anywhere.
Knicks fans are hoping you can come up, down and and go to no way, man.
When you look at this Nets team, the bubble nets, the Brooklyn Bubble Boys shocking the world.
It has to make you super excited for what it will look like when you add a Katie when you add a Kyrie.
Now you said something about DeAndre, Jordan and Kenny, and I felt like there was, like, a lot of, like politics and a lot of things that went on because DeAndre Jordan came over here kind of in a package deal with Katie and Kyrie.
I honestly never for a second thought he was better than Jared Allen.
I just thought Jared Allen had to get it together.
He's not as fast as Jared Allen.
He's more than 10 years older than Jared Allen.
It's It's to me.
It's It's a no brainer who should be be starting for the Nets at center.
But DeAndre Jordan got a couple of those starts, I think, because of who he was in the MBA, Jared Allen is still becoming who he is in the MBA.
This quarantine helped him.
I said on talking.
That's Jared Allen.
Did he just shoot free throws every day? Did he have some someone working on his free throws? He cleaned at the free throw percentage is going up 25 point.
Something like that.
He hits the free grows now when we need him.
He used to just miss free throws when we needed him, that would that would cost his games.
You talked about him in the high post.
You talked about him.
You talked about him in the high post.
You talked about you know him with Jacque Vaughn.
And what job on is getting out of him? Yeah, Now Jacque Vaughn.
We heard in the in the quarantine time that Jacque Bourne was sending these guys workouts waits there, zoom in and like, you know, it sounds good when you don't really know.
It's like that Sounds good, right? I think they really developed some type of reports, some type of relationship.
I really think that something clicked with Jared Allen.
I know he was excited to play in this bubble.
He never was thinking about opting out, and he was going into his bubble.
Knowing you are the guy that we don't have any backups for you.
That Claxton's not coming, DeAndre. Jordan's not coming.
And he's been He has been Joe Harris, another one in his bag.
Someone tweeted me.
They're like, Oh, did Joe Harris always play like this? I'm like, I know they said to Joe Harris, Play like this under Kenny ever.
I'm like he did, but he didn't like he had to defer to Kyrie or steps or didn't witty like Now he's really only deferring.
I guess that Paris but Paris has given him the Rock.
And when he doesn't have a three, he can create his shots.
He can get to the bucket.
I said He's still fundamental, Joe, I know something.
I don't watch the Nets.
So you don't know about his game.
He's still fundamental, Joe.
He's going to get that lay up.
You get to the whole If he if he wants to ease Geek and dribble and men with the Nets.
They shocked the world twice last week.
5 underdogs on Tuesday beat Johannes Beat beat the Bucks number one seed last night, 14 and five underdogs beat Kawai beat the Clippers.
Number two seed in the West, they're looking for trouble in the bubble.
If I was any team in the N B A, that has to play them well, now, now this season's coming down to just Orlando who we should punch in the Mount this week. Portland.
Who's gonna need that game? Maybe we rest some guys that game and let Portland get that w and then we're already clinched and locked into the Raptors.
So the Raptors need to be very aware they should be studying film on this team right now.
Jacque Vaughn has been coaching them up. Much credit to them.
I'm super excited that this motley crew this Long Island, that's G league team and a couple starters from our team came together to not lay down, not Tank, but actually compete and not take the eighth seed or, like literally compete shocked the world and locking in the seven seed in the the MBA playoffs again.
So we're looking at this Nets team, right? I'll take a jab at New York.
This next team goes to the playoffs in the last what eight years since we've been in Brooklyn, I think we've gone like five out of the out of the last eight years or something.
What are the Knicks doing? I don't want to hear it from you.
Knicks fans were doing it with backup players.
So you want to say all we don't have? The players aren't We were getting it done so and then that man and we're gonna get out the door on it.
But that's the fundamentals.
The organization, the mantra, the focus, the drive like all of those things, like their stuff, natural ability.
Is there across the MBA? Rightly, players complain.
Everybody knows that, like the New York Knicks roster compared to what the Nets have down in the bubble, you should be able to win games.
You should go to get the job done.
Sometimes about dedication.
It's about hustle.
It's about coaching. It's about all those things top to bottom.
And we've seen a lot of that across this bubble, right? Ah, the Bucks kind of phone into old habits.
Maybe not being is innovative in terms of the rotations or how they're trying to get into their offense.
It sets the zone defense working against them.
And then you see a guy like Jock Bolin see Poppet that you see even on Nick Nurse doing his thing, making sure that his team is in rhythm and ready to go to that next step, it'll be interesting to see as we are locked into the seventh seed.
It may be the Nets rest against Orlando and gear up against Portland because we could play spoilers there.
So it's gonna Fomento watch once that officially gets schedule.
It's a TV D on when that when that game's gonna go down.
But in the meantime, and all I know is like from day to day from 12 hour window, a 12 hour window, it's a new shuffle of like, Who's the team on the rise? Who? The team falling, Who's struggling, Who's excited right now, who's excited for next year.
So everything is actually phenomenal is we know that was awesome Games there over the weekend.
Keith McPherson is too much work to do.
Can't dawdle any longer.
A madam are Brick.
This is SportsCastr envy a newsman, and we'll be back talking all things bowl
