These things started about o'clock Pacific time, but I got to share a little stool Worry.
As you know, we wait on a few other people.
Teoh, join us about 8 44 Now there are about 45 minutes late.
And the reason is we call ourselves.
We don't just call ourselves voice to the fan.
We actually trademarked it, which, like no big deal, but it's kind of cool.
Um, the reason you know we do that is because we want to be a platform for fans and we're famous, and there's no greater testament to that.
It and 45 minutes ago, Johnny and I are in the green room, were checked, you know, chatting it out. Get ready.
All I could see him doing is this okay talking to me? But he's looking right.
My, my, how many games on And the box versus the Mavericks were on.
And I figured we had two choices.
We either livestream the game, uh, or we just take the meetings, take a 45 minute break.
We opted for the latter, and, uh, John, we made the right choice.
Luca mania, baby, it's a real thing.
Let's talk about that for a little bit.
We got an agenda. We got things we want to talk about.
Generally, we were focusing on the Lakers and Clippers.
We want talk about all of the MBA.
Now we want to take a look back at the week.
We're calling this Run it back the N B a week in review.
So we got a few things you want to talk about, but we can't ignore that game.
It it and let me just point out two things that really impressed me First up on the box and you tell me I got George Hill taking a wide open three at the buzzer till in the game.
I'm feeling good about my chances.
But he missed number two that passed by Luca between his legs with his left hand.
Uh, he was too Cleaver who made the shot and it was found.
What was most impressive about that past was he didn't have to do it, you know, he didn't It wasn't flashy.
The only way to get that ball to him in that no, but that the defense he had against him poised to go between his legs with the left hand.
It was It was a necessity.
It wasn't flash.
That's what's so impressive about this kid is 21 years old, man, Those were my takeaways.
You saw the same game.
Would you take from it? No, that's my thing to 21.
They always talk.
When he was drafted, they were talking about always been playing pro since she was 13.
But when you when you see him play and that's exactly it looks like he just in control of the entire time When he has the ball, he knows where he's going.
Doesn't rush it.
He just looks like 10 year vet out there, just everything.
I mean, he'll take some bad shots, but everybody does.
His step back is, but the way he controls the game is passing.
He's some special man.
He's got that LeBron like vision and I Q that that that's that.
The only person I compare him to you, right? Well, when I saw the numbers today on, I had him up.
But Peter is not working for me right now, but I know it was a ridiculous triple double.
Yeah, I know he had 19.
This is he had 30. Some odd point.
This is a guy who's going to get 20 points, 20 rebounds, 20 assists.
The last guy to do that was Russell West.
So you know, I'm thinking.
What? Russell Westbrook.
He's cut Maurin the Moldova.
LeBron right? Yeah, What a great player.
I mean, we're on the were on the verge of watching a breakout star in that guy, man.
And this is him in this employment next to you.
Who's doing his thing out there to just spin? Move Duncan on people.
It's It's crazy that the future of the league is bright, right? Well said, Uh uh, May I would have been a lot nicer.
Pride this up quicker, but I don't.
14 rebounds, 19 assists.
The guy's a maniac network pivot.
What I just said.
He's easy work for Luca.
Yeah. Yeah, God is amazing.
Let's talk about the things we wanted to talk about.
Um, we have a few things on our plate.
First question that posed to you before we got started was the bigger surprise, right? The bubble gains have been going on for a while now.
They've been surprised me.
We'll talk about that a little bit.
Um, we had a great day of basketball today, some phenomenal games, which I want to kind of minute benefit.
Let's do that real quick and forgive me for bouncing around.
But, you know, we had sons beat the Heat to stay undefeated.
The only team undefeated, the pages be delayed bounce back in for LeBron.
That nuggets and Jazz with double overtime.
The game we just talked about it would be over time and in the Clippers, the Lakers Good, good Basque Day.
But let's talk about the bubble is a hole.
The sun's 50 after today that after the Miami, the only undefeated team, they are now 1/2 game behind the Blazers for the nice spot, which ordinarily would mean nothing.
But now it means you got that chance to play in, and I don't know anybody.
What's played the sun's right now.
I mean, they're super calm.
Um, So the sons were five and no, a week or so ago, you and I talk about, you know, bubble predictions, and one of the predictions was one of these teams is gonna go Owen eight and one of the likely teas that we discuss.
Where the sons and here they are.
Five. No, it's staggering.
So what's the bigger surprise? And I'm gonna pose this question to you.
The sons of five, you know, or the grizzly who had a pretty not a stranglehold on the A spot, but a really good, you know, nicely.
They had to win to three games, I think, in order to secure that spot there, one in three and not looking particularly strong.
What's the bigger surprise? I'm gonna go off board.
I'm gonna go with M J a k A T J Warren out there.
Okay, Falling ball it.
I mean, he's been playing really good this season, but, I mean, he's been going crazy in the bubble bubble.
M v p hit that shot on Braun today, T J.
Warren Bond. But out of those two, I think it's the sons.
I mean, you lose Jaren Jackson if you're the Grizzlies.
It was a good it was a good win against O. K.
C. They really needed that.
But, uh, I mean Booker's ball in the sons of good, but Yeah.
If the Grizzlies losing losing during Jackson, it's It's not.
Not a good look for them.
Yeah, that's That's rough, of course, but it's hard. Teoh.
Look at the sons and not be impressed by what they're doing.
And honestly, not be surprised.
But Booker's at another level.
Eight minutes playing solid basketball, 18 points, 10 rebounds and the bubble Dudes only 22 years old.
But he's 20 and he's playing really, really good.
Um, so yeah. Yeah.
And let me address Warren because, uh, you know, I heard he went for 50 plus first game in the bubble.
Everybody was kind of thinking it was an aberration, you know? But the guy has kept it up, and he looks confident.
Yeah, man, when you got little conference behind your team or as a player, your dangerous C j.
Warren just looks really, really dangerous, right? Um all right, let's take a look at another weird bubble.
Uh, aberration on and let's happen.
I'm gonna ask you if it was that the nets, who are the seven seed right on these play the bucks.
They were in 19 point underdog.
Nobody gave a chance in this particular game, but they beat the Bucks.
Pretty amazing victory.
The greatest spread upset since 1993 in the N B. A.
So the big deal.
And so, you know, I'm thinking, was this just the bubble being the bubble? The bucks have got a big lead.
They're not worried.
They don't have to win these games.
You and I talked a lot about the Clippers and the Lakers kind of being in that position where they have toa win.
Um, so you know, the bucks just kind of fall into that complacency.
Um, What did you take out of that? It's this the norm.
Is it kind of like the O the NFL used to say at any given Sunday, anybody can beat anybody else.
Overs edges, an aberration.
I think we're just kind of a one game aberration.
I mean, you see that this is almost like a scrimmage games for the bucks.
You see him? They arrested you honest and medicine for 1/2 of the game.
They're still trying to find their mojo, and I mean, the nets, the nets play hard, they move the ball, but and I mean, you could lose anybody on any day.
But that's not the worrying part for the bucks.
The worry part for me about the boxes.
Ah, they're the number one defense this season, and they begin up a lot of points in a bubble to everybody.
So I'm curious what's going on with their defense, because, I mean, Brooklyn place hard.
But they shouldn't be dropping that many points on you.
Yeah, none of the point.
Um, you know what surprised me most about that game is how decimated the Nets are.
But yeah, it really is telling right now that the Bucks are struggling a bit at the number one seed means certainly nothing to be worried about, but struggling just a bit.
Uh, and then you look at the Lakers and I would see in the West struggling a lot.
Which takes us to the next thing I wanted to talk about.
The Lakers had a kind of a break out game today.
They played the Indiana Pacers.
Warren, should you warn you look good.
We talked about that a little bit, but coming into this game, LeBron was struggling.
Hey was averaging under 19 our apartment under 20 points.
He was not shooting the ball particularly well.
And most troubling, I think, for the Lakers they were the only team in the bubble in that's 400 points.
The defense has still been OK, but they haven't look cohesive at all.
Had a bit of a break out game, but it lost against the Pacers.
So I gotta ask you, you know, for you on behalf of all the Lakers faithful, this is the number one team in the West.
They sewed it up day one that beat the Clippers.
Um, it just looks like they were getting complacent.
Is there no need to worry if your Los Angeles Lakers fans I mean, it depends what your expectations are.
If you think they're gonna win the championship, I think you should be worried.
Ah, when Bron goes to the bench, they do not look good.
They miss playmaking, and they miss shooting that They have a lot of streaky shooters.
So when they're off their, they look really bad.
And when bronze on the court, they have nobody to move the ball around so they look.
They look pretty average when it's just a D on the floor, and then when the bronze out there.
They're good and they can compete.
You need a great LeBron game every game, and he's 35 so we'll see if he can do it.
But that's what they need at this point.
Yeah, they're absolutely missing another plate playmaker, right in that game in Africa, who it was against those again before this one where LeBron was out and they just they just looked complacent.
They look lazy on the offensive end.
You know, I hate to say it, but it looks like they're missing Rondo, who you know, had his ups and downs.
But he's a playmaker, He's a veteran, and you know people will go back to the playoff rondo of yesteryear.
I don't know that he is that guy anymore, But, you know, I certainly think the Lakers gonna welcome them back.
Of course, because they're missing that aspect.
I I the one great playmaker and LeBron, they've got a superstar in 80.
They've got some really good streaky players like Ooh, asthma.
Quinn Cook went off today.
Dion waiters kcp but they're missing that one.
Look, a daunting story and you're not gonna always have Luca but you need some.
You need to. Chris. Paul.
You know that's a soccer star point for Laker fans, but you need somebody.
He can carry this team our only doubt.
I don't think he can do it much longer.
Maybe another year.
But, yeah, it's a cause for concern.
Um, which kind of is a pretty good said way too kind of the last topic I had.
The's are meant to be rapid fire questions for you and I.
So we want yes or no answers, I think, given the tithe time we spent where, 12 minutes.
We're doing good.
Uh, let's let's that stretches out of the biggest I think I want.
I want to add a little bit of commentary.
Um, but let's talk about the Lakers First.
The Lakers, the number one seed.
They sort it up right away.
You know there's some concerns.
Number one question.
Let's start with a yes or no Uh, and then and then, which is quite an elaborate a bit from there.
Are the Lakers making it to the Western Conference finals at the Finals? Are they making it to the Western Conference finals? What, you think what's your car's follows it.
That's a yes, really.
And then? And then they lose to the Clippers, which is what we've been saying all along.
I think you and I, you know, I know Tony, who's joined us in times past is the only one I think has a different opinion because he's always got a different opinion.
Tony, Tony, We miss you.
Well, Coney um but yeah, Houston, Houston always looks good before the playoffs.
And they just never had that breakout ever.
But they just some about Russell Westbrook? Uh, yeah, they understand.
Westbrook Harden, You don't have a lot of time left, Um, and that that small ball is really working for them.
It's the new N B A.
You know, you just don't have centered.
You don't have cream.
You don't have Akeem Elijah once.
You don't have those guys anymore.
They're all playing out of the three point line, and Houston has built that in a very unique way.
Like anybody else.
They're gonna be tough to beat.
And I don't know, I'm trying.
I'm trying to answer the question myself.
Are the Lakers gonna make the Western Conference finals? Yeah, I agree with you? I think they are.
But where is before? I thought it was like 90% cer*****y.
If I was to attach a percentage man to get 75 60%.
Not a sure thing.
Not a sure thing.
I couldn't see them being upset even in the first round by Portland.
I wouldn't be shocked.
I would be shocked.
You think 75 sixties to low, though? Yeah.
I mean, I think Bronze run rounding into shape.
And when you have Ron and a D against, I don't think there's any other team besides the Clippers in the West that have enough to beat them four times in a Siri's.
And again, this is some we've talked about before For the Lakers to be successful, they need 80 to be a d.
LeBron to be LeBron and they need third x factor guy to step up and put in 15 point.
And again it got great guys do that Coups quick cook today, but they need LeBron and 80 and they just haven't clicked in any one particular game on.
And if you don't have them both, you have all three of those things tough road.
The Lakers next question.
Based on who you see and what you see so far in these bubble game, who's coming out the East? I'm still going with the bucks.
I'm so taking your honest And Middleton, the defense, the shooters.
Toronto's a good Boston has really good.
They look really bad, But I'm still taking the books and I'm a deviate just a little because I've been books all along, But I've always had Toronto with my dark course touch It looks good.
Toronto do like a team.
And, um, I would absolutely not be shocked Manufacture? I'm asking the question.
So I'm just gonna ask Manasra, who is the The Toronto Raptors.
I like it out of the anybody b shot who wins the West.
You have been pretty solid about this. I think you might change.
Who wins the West Clippers? Clippers? Yeah, I just Yeah.
Well, let me elaborate.
Just a little bit.
Trez is not back yet.
I read somewhere, but I never got confirmation that he was due back in the buckle next week, which is just a couple days away.
but I get a no confirmation of that.
He is going to, I would think needed gamer.
You look at these players and these teams and took him to three games for they look like themselves.
Assuming you don't have treads for the first round, I mean, does it worry you at all? I mean, it would be nice to have, but I still think it looks like they're gonna put them at is gonna be fun of watching play Luca.
But I don't think the Mavs are complete enough to beat.
The Clippers were still really, really nice without, without trust.
And I mean treasures, energy guy.
He's not going to come back and he's gonna come back and just Rim run rebound.
You can do that.
He could do that is sleep.
I think, Joe, I'm not too worried.
I mean, it'll be nice.
Aban back, though it's a good point.
Trades doesn't take mid range shots. He does.
His game is game is the hustle plays of rebounds.
The put back dunks and don't necessarily need, you know, have you obviously need to be conditioned if you're playing in the N B a game, period, but a lot easier to play that game and have an impact right away.
So the good point.
Let's, uh let me call out a few things here, Teoh and forgive me, I e just get to talking.
And And I stopped looking, but who was it here? Jason started following Thank you, Kyle.
I appreciate that very much.
Oh, we do appreciate it.
Um all right, this is the nutrition question.
And I had to think long and hard about it.
I asked what bubble game feature do you like? The best.
And then I I put out a couple options.
The virtual fan, The pipe in crowd muse p a announcer.
Which is interesting because there's no public in public.
But there's the pl still doing his thing.
No cameraman under the hoop, right? The whole line of cameramen or something else.
You see a bunch of bubble games now what do you like? What do you think the NBN might even adopt? Winces is all over.
I'm gonna kind of G.
I like the whole experience.
Ah, the first couple of games it was weird, but now it feels it feels kind of normal.
Like the crowd noise seems natural.
The virtual fans are fun and you see shack popping up, you see, like a goat baby poppin up.
Those are funny.
Ah, but my biggest thing about the bubble of stand back, Gundy, uh, I love stand on the cause.
I think, uh, I'm not a big Jeff guy.
I think you think he winds a lot.
But I think that standings standards just talking about stands funny.
And, ah, he's becoming my my favorite.
My favorite announcer.
But every commentator and stand is a great Twitter.
Oh, yeah, Yeah, he's He's on Twitter a lot.
He's doing a lot, you know? Great.
All right, is he? I don't appreciate that very much.
Um, when I was thinking about you, definitely going off book here, man, that's an interesting one to me, is I'm watching it, and I gotta tell you, I agree with you.
The first couple of games I thought were off.
I thought the pipe the music were there was one game I think was very first game where LeBron had a Dunkin and the piped in music groaned.
It just There's no growing on LeBron funky Don't grown LeBron Donkey.
It was off, but I think it got better.
But for me yet it's all gotten better.
Sorry I missed it, but I love that there's nobody underneath anymore.
Yeah, how you remember there was a time.
This is going back a long time and it had to be in the nineties.
Rodman fell into bulls and kicked it out to the Camberwell and kicked.
Remember that, and I'll see how that did happen.
More often out, more people get hurt.
I think it opens up the game a lot more, and you're gonna see a lot more people there diving out in that particular direction where they wouldn't Normally, I think it just to get safer.
And what it cost is we don't get the great photos.
I'd like to see that, Uh, as after the season starts up, I don't think we need those camera.
So let's But Jose Jose's anti photos photo.
Our last question then, uh, this was supposed to be rapid fire, but I'm digging this system.
This is a lot better.
Are you surprised? and we talked a lot about this.
Is we built up to the bubble game? Are you surprised that bubble has worked as well as it as it has no players tested.
Positive? Uh, obviously the games.
Um, are you surprised because it's worked really, really well, I would say you have pleasantly surprised that the overall experience, the game experience, the safety measures.
It seems like not the jinx it, but everything is going very smooth, and that is the most you can ask for, especially what's going on with baseball, you see, like you see how much then be put into it, and the standard that that they have in it's working and I'm loving it.
So yeah, no, it's working. It's great.
I'll be honest with you.
I didn't think it was gonna work this well.
I thought the games were going to suffer.
I thought, there's no way they're gonna be able to contain this virus.
They contain the virus.
The kids have been created again.
I don't want to jinx it. I'm with you.
Um, but it's been great and I'm very, very, very surprised.
It's been fun to watch, and that's all I ask for.
Um, all right, that's it.
I'm gonna go off book a little bit because you've done it to me twice.
Bid one concern, and it's a minor one.
But I'll tell you, when the game starts a matter, I think this is gonna be a big deal.
I watched a lot.
I didn't start to track him.
I wish I would have.
But I was a lot of basketball today, like all of us fans did, and I saw it in ordinate about timing problems.
The most glaring to me was in the Laker game today.
LeBron had the ball, the Lakers were down and they did what they always do when you're downright roll the ball and the balls rolling.
Clocks not supposed to start until the player touches right.
So in the players backing up almost half, so you can see I thinking about four seconds that I can remember.
It wasn't a lot, but he was waiting to pick up the book, but the timer started the clock right and so that missed every day now so well, it was called Gamestop on and Blake, said Teoh throw the ball in again.
But now the defense wised up.
You in the Lakers.
Last chance. Bottom line.
Even in the game tonight that you and I paused are stream toe What there was? Ah, game.
I think it was a jump ball with a reset the clock or they didn't reset the reset to port in between 24.
But here's my point when you go to an N b A basketball and there's a person there was paid to be the time.
They don't get paid a lot, but that's their job.
And not only have they paid professionals but the environment that they're in this guy, since in a desk with a but the same.
But it's the same desk.
It's the same environment it's made for this, Um, and now you're playing in a conference room.
You know, it's made up to be like Give me a ride.
Appearance has been Sanoma, but and I don't know who was doing the timing, is it? You know, Laker personnel like it would be normally.
Is it a buck person? I don't know.
Is it a generic person? How is it working exactly? I can tell you the probably with absolute cer*****y.
It isn't the exact same set up that they've had in their home court.
And so you're seeing a lot of problems in these games. You don't matter.
But if that game against LeBron costs the Lakers a chance to take a good shot, as opposed to a bad shop four seconds left in Game seven of the Western Conference finals against the Clippers, that's not gonna be okay.
I'm a little worried about that.
Did you notice any of that money Crazy? All right.
No, I mean, I don't know.
Uh, yeah, I was in the group, my basketball group chat.
I was talking with my boys.
There's, like, a lot of clock management stuff.
Uh, but I mean again, that they're working it out just like the players are with the new environment.
Hopefully, these eight games acted like a buffer.
I mean, if we see something, we see something.
Uh, it's been messed up before.
Arrested miss calls before.
It was kind of It is what it is kind of thing.
Hopefully they smooth it out in time for the games.
That actually matter, but I think they're still getting their bearings.
It's still weird.
It's still like Herculean effort.
Everything's going on the bubble anyway, So I'm not too worried about that, to be honest with you.
Okay? All right.
The anti clock management.
I'm pro clock management, but I'm anti camera, anti camera, anti cameramen.
He you and Rodman.
They That's good.
That's good company.
That's going to be getting worse.
All right, That's our show.
Because the show I appreciate your taking the time We jumped on a little late, but we did it for the right reasons.
Fans of the game just like you think.
You know, uh, stay and listen to us.
We appreciate you where peach basket we are.
Voice to the fan and we will be back next week with another Run it back.
N b A week in review.
We'll see you guys.
