What's going on, guys? I'm sand daring with me, as always, is Matt Skara.
We are from the Unwraps sports Network, and we have been re capping and winter season predictions and offseason the capsule nationalization of every NFL division.
Last night we did the Seahawks and the Niners site.
We're gonna end the NFC West by talking about the Cardinals and the Rams were going to set up with Rams, and the Rams lost a lot more than they gained.
I mean, the biggest loss of their defense obviously was Dante Fowler and Corey Littleton.
But they also gained Leonard Floyd, and that was a really, really good pick.
Obviously, they have other unproven guys like Michael Kaiser and Jordan Mall.
Um, and they also lost hog early on their defense on their offensive side of the ball.
A guy that waas he tore his A c l.
A Georgia, and now it's obviously acting up, and now they have they bring in to me.
This is a team where they're very, very close to going back into rebuild mode, and this is also a team that I see.
Their draft looked better than their off season they lost a lot.
They could still get Clay Matthews back with Clay.
Matthews is still out there because for his age, surprisingly, I obviously he was out with a broken jaw.
Um, he still had an impressive season.
Yeah, he definitely did have a season there, and I also loved other free designs of that.
I also love how they were ableto bring back Michael Braugher's Originally.
It was slated that he was Ravens, but the deal fell through and he went back to the ramp.
So that's definitely a ate for them, especially with their losses of Dante Fowler and Cory Littleton in the offseason already beforehand.
And I also love how they brought back veteran offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth.
You know, one of the keys to the NFL successes.
You gotta have a good quarterback.
Gotta have a good line, and you gotta have a good edge rusher and the Rams.
They brought back a good offensive linemen and edge Whitworth.
He's been with the Rams for a while now, and, you know, he's proved to be to be a good Stallworth in Los Angeles.
Yeah, you really nail it on the money there would, obviously, with the boss of Dante Fowler.
Michael Broncos was huge, and obviously Andrew Whitworth was big.
He's another veteran guy that they have on their offense.
And obviously I don't want to spoil your ah offense of N V. P.
But Jared Goff is a way overpaid.
He didn't deserve nearly.
He deserved dying.
Like what does? He proved to get paid that much money like he hasn't proved he hasn't proved anything.
He's not as good as people actually think he is, but so he's definitely has lots of crew.
He has get to live up to that contract.
Yeah, he definitely has to live up to his contract that he got paid paid for.
So let's go into the drafts.
And like I mentioned, um, their draft.
Actually, they didn't have a battle.
They dressed everything that they needed.
And I was a firm believer, and it was true.
I was also a guy that kind of followed, um, can makers kind of deep.
As soon as he got recruited by Florida State, Um, I was a firm believer that he was gonna make a name for himself as a draft prospect and sort draft boards.
I was right I mean, they picked him, won the second round.
And the fact that, I mean, he really doesn't he comes in.
He's going to compete, obviously for the starting job.
But when you look at that running back room on the Rams, it's not that impressive.
I mean, you have Darryl Henderson and Malcolm Brown.
Um, you really don't have a whole lot.
But I mean, if he wins it good for him, I think Cameron makers very well could.
I think he has the potential.
I think he's going to win the starting job.
Yeah, I definitely good ideas.
Well, I feel like they drafted.
Can acres toe basically the talker, this replacement.
He was a great running back out of Florida State.
He replaced Ah Dublin Cook when Robin Cook got after by Minnesota.
So he had big shoes to fill and he kept those shoes.
You know, obviously, a lot of people didn't really recognize can makers because he was part of the Florida State program.
That's kind of sunk a little bit, you know, Florida State.
They used to be one of the top programs, and in college football, you know when they had Jamis Winston, those years of four to state and a little bit up of, ah, believes Deondre Francoise before he got his injuries.
And, you know, it's it's gonna be interesting to see what what can makers brings to the table for the L.
And obviously, like you said, they're running back room is really that good.
So he's got a great chance, you know, the star.
And if I were the Rams, I wouldn't be surprised if, if I see Cam makers start his rookie year right away yet 100% and another one who I think was a very sneaky pick.
I think it was a really, really nice pick, especially after they don't have Brennan cooks anymore.
They lost him to Houston.
Um, but now you bring well in a wide receiver, Ben Jefferson.
He stick him alongside Robert Woods.
And to me, I'll be not God will just spoil it.
Robert Woods is going to be my offense of M V P.
And not a huge Let your golf guide on.
I'm not really high on Jared golf, but Van Jeffersons Good.
I mean, he's got the body for him.
He's got the height.
His stats aren't gonna be one.
That was you that really while you, But he definitely has a lot of potential to be the Rams franchise.
Wide receiver? Yeah, most definitely.
I believe Van Jefferson was a sneaky pick.
I also like Kelly's being paired up alongside with the robber word Woods and Cooper Cup.
And you know he's in the great because he doesn't really have to be.
You know that nobody wanted number two guy, you know, He just has to be a guy that, you know, can take pressure off of off of woods and cup because you look as a defense, they're gonna be focused on walking down Robert Woods or Cooper coming up.
They're not gonna worry about rookie guy like bam Jefferson.
You know? You know, defensive corners, we're going to you know what? If bad Jefferson beats us, he just simply impedes us.
You know, he's just a great talented receiver, so it's gonna be great to see what he's able to do.
I feel like you'll you'll make the impact for the L A Rams, especially to help out Jerrick off because, you know Jared Goff is gonna need all the help he's gonna get.
Especially know now that he doesn't have doesn't have top girl.
You're Brandon cooks anymore.
He's gonna need to have banned Jefferson.
You know, step up.
Makes a big place, you know, help out that offense and 1 may have I mean, you already.
You just mentioned him.
A name that's kind of a flying around the wide receiver, um mawr So than Robert Woods is That's Cooper Cub.
I think he's getting a little bit of hype on the Rams and to me, I I refuse to believe that he's gonna be a bus.
So to be I think Cooper Cup has a lot of potential that the Rams have yet to unlock.
So I think it will be interesting to see, um, how well, how how will he progresses and how well he will actually improve in the Rams offense? Yeah, it'll definitely be itching to see how well he improves.
Especially, I mean, really, I believe it was two years ago.
You know, Cooper Cub Supercup had that devastating of leaves D injury when the Rams were on the run toe to 53.
And then when he came back last year he had Yeah, he's a year coming back from injury.
And, you know, hopefully he just and, uh, keep on getting better.
You know, we see you will rival Lloyds could do.
And we've seen Cooper Cup when he's healthy.
And you know, when Cooper Cup is healthy, you know he's a very solid receiver.
So hopefully he could stay on the same track and, you know, be that solid Number two receiver.
I don't think Cooper Cup will be enough of one something Robert Woods and towns of receiver, but I believe he could be a very solid number two receiver what, and the last pick before we kind of go into season prediction, actually to one more so than others I want to go a little bit more in depth on is to rob Burgess.
That's another not only depth move because they know they're not necessarily deep in that area, but they need.
If they needed help on that front.
The line and I think they're all Burgess was a great pick for them, and I mean, like I mentioned before, the Rams have a sneaky good draft and they addressed everything that needed to be addressed for them.
Yeah, and other for I think you meant to say, uh, Carol.
They think they drift into tutorials.
I have been confused as well.
But I also like both both Charles.
I believe we'll make the instant infects.
You know, throughout Lewis, the defensive end from Alabama.
You know, he's definitely gonna be a new stay intact.
Whether he starts right away.
You know, he's gonna be a perfect depth piece, especially because the Rams were so strapped in cap space with all the dead money that they have absorbing and Tom Curley's contract and Brandon cooks contract and then going to have to pay Jalen Ramsey.
You know, this? That's not an option.
They have to pay gym and rams it just because you don't give up to first and a second just to let a walk after two years.
So they're gonna have toe figure out a way to pay Pedrie the Rams with money that he wants and trial. Burgess.
You know, he could be You could be a guy who you could potentially see start right away at a safe.
You know, I would look at this defense like we stated before they lost the awesome key players in a Cory Littleton and Dante Fowler.
So and and potentially Clay Matthews.
You know he's still out of the market, so I still have a chance to get him.
But if they don't, you know, that could be, ah, big loss there.
So it will be interesting to see what, what 12 Burges and was able to do.
But I feel like they could be instant impacts, whether it's gonna be as a temp piece or as a starter of the Rams defense and her next name.
You're gonna be surprised by this because he went undrafted.
He was the quarterback out of Virginia, and that's Price, Perkins and T.
Obviously, I don't think he's gonna make any impact for quite some time.
He needs a lot of grooming his arm talents.
Not quite there yet, but he's a guy that exceeds in the run game, and it's always interesting to be washing guys.
I mean, seeing how well guys like I mean look like the Lamar Jackson and even Pat Mahomes.
Today's NFL quarterbacks are looking for guys that not only flourished in the passing game, but can win on the ground.
I mean, the passing game.
Obviously, Bryce Perkins needs quite a bit of work on, but he's a guy that exceeds in the run game.
I mean, that is something that is huge.
I mean, I I talked about this on my podcast earlier with Caleb Skinner of the Unwrap Sports Network Saturday standouts, and we're talking about Justin Fields and Justin Fields and Lamar Jackson.
Justin Fields is a guy that obviously we've seen him before.
He put put up in crazy, impressive stats in Ohio State and another guy that exceeds in the run game.
And then, I mean, I mentioned I mentioned this to Caleb earlier.
Their offensive coordinator, that Ohio State offense set up the video stare.
OSI set up the offense perfectly, so it fit with his system.
And I bring up the long Jackson because outside of marquees Brown, there's not a whole lot of There's a lot of unproven talent outside of marquees Brown for their wide receiver, and they have Mark Andrews, who looks very promising to be their franchise tied down.
But the name I want to bring on the Ravens is Greg Roman, Greg woman's me.
Greg Woman has done a phenomenal job setting up building that offense toe work for the march accents place that in his scheme, So do I think Vice Persons will be in the March accident? No, not at all.
But I bring his name up because I think it's interesting to see how well employers like that, and like that exceed in the run game like that.
Even Jalen hurts how well they will translate into the NFL.
Yeah, it definitely be itching to see how how he's able that training game in in the NFL.
And maybe we could potentially see a situation where, you know, maybe he gets some snaps in a potential quarterback.
You know, maybe, you know, Sean McVey.
He's a very creative mind, you know, as a head coach.
So maybe we could potentially see someplace where you know, baby, they have But Birkoff from like, uh, like, you know, a little lateral passes back something like New England used to do with settlement.
Maybe like, kind of like we're really snaps above those of the element those into someone else.
Maybe we could see a situation where cough snaps the ball, throws it, Bryce.
And then Bryce doesn't, uh, so, like, Robert Woods A coup pickup for, like, some trickery, place of some sort or, you know, baby, they need They need a guy who could potentially us be sparked.
Kind of liken Taysom Hill.
You know, a guy that could be be a good quarterback like I do like the read option. Very well.
And maybe in some situations, where if potentially, you know, Jared Goff is struggling or, you know, the Rams are losing in a blowout game, you know, maybe they put it to see what he's got.
You know, if they see something in him, great.
You know, if they don't, you know.
Oh, well, take the loss.
I'm just started turned off the next week.
I mean to me, I think the Rams will end up keeping three quarterbacks on the roster Price.
Perkins is not B a Q B two.
He needs a lot of grooming.
I mean, I don't see him making any sort of impact in the NFL if he makes one for quite some time.
He has talent, but he also has.
He also at times lacks a lot of consistency.
So he's also God that he needs a lot of rooming in the passing game.
Yeah. So let's go into our predictions.
I mentioned this to you before we went on the air.
I'm having them going six and 10. Like I mentioned before.
I think they're really close to going back into a rebuild mode.
But I've got the Rams going six and 10.
What will you? I have them doing slightly better.
I have them going, ate and ate and Mitt missing the playoffs.
I personally also agree with what you're saying.
I believe the rails are 1/3 place team.
You know, they they are 1/3 or fourth place team.
You know, I think they've lost.
You know that NFC contention? You know it.
It's sad to see because, you know, when the Rams raided to Super Bowl 53 they had a whole bunch of talent on the roster, and we thought that Sean McVey in the L A.
Rams will be competing in the NFC for a very long time and, you know, kind of like what the shot McVeigh Rams used to be when they made on the run. The suitable.
It's kind of like, what? How cost and a hand.
San Francisco 40 Niners are You know, we look at the 40 Niners day.
Look, they 40 Niners looked like a team that that are ready to compete for many years to come.
And that's what a lot of people thought that the Los Angeles Rams we're gonna be.
And you know what kind of now it looks like the Rams were just like a one year wonder.
You know, we look it when Sean McVey was there his first year, they went 11 and five, made the playoffs.
Hasn't they? Did this to Atlanta, which was expected because Atlanta was, at the time, a very veteran playoff groups that we expected that.
And then they kind of took off, you know, often girly.
They were there. One of the best.
You know, Tom Girl.
In 2080 he was the office of Player of the Year.
They also, I believe, have the defensive player of the year and taught in a Aaron Donald.
They beat the safely answer championship game.
They made it to the Super Bowl.
I had a chance to win it, but kind of fell short.
And then just last year, they go nine and seven, and now it seems like they're kind of having more towards the bottom because, I mean, you look at guys.
Can, you know San Francisco? They're not going anywhere.
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if we even talk about the Niners and the Seahawks yesterday.
You know, I had San Francisco going 13 at sea on going over before.
I don't see them going away any time soon.
And, you know, I got the Rams going eight, mate, and I just feel like they're just one of those teams that I'll just have around 500.
You know, they won't be be anything special.
I do believe, though.
They won't be a pushover, you know? Know their team that will compete.
You know, I feel like charming Bay is definitely gonna have these guys compete, and they definitely got some talent.
You know, they have a guy.
They have guys like Jared Goff of the offense, Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey on the defense.
So they have some competitive pieces there.
I just don't think they have enough to compete in the NFC.
Yeah, You mentioned Obviously, they're Super Bowl run.
I think I think I'd rather something last night.
What? The Niners.
It's hard for teams to do that, obviously, besides the Patriots, because other than the Patriots, there's no, There's really no other team that's done that.
It's hard for teams, so make a Super Bowl run for two straight years.
I mean, besides the Patriots, we can't name any other team that's done that in this generation.
Yeah, the next one is offense member give.
Earlier, I said, Robert Woods, I've got Robert was Robert Woods is going to solidify himself even more as the number one receiver not got Robert Woods and and I got I got Jared Goff is my M v P.
I feel like Jared Goff is on the on the borderline of being started starting quarterback.
I truly believe that we were looking Jared off ever since he made that run and suitable 53 got paid his money.
You know, he hasn't really performed well, and, you know, we we've seen you know Jared Goff, and he's a quarterback that relies on the play action pass and when he doesn't have that play action pass.
He kind of starts to pull a little bit.
He doesn't really play itself.
This is the year where I believe you know, we start to see the Rams decide.
But if if Jared Goff is really there guy, you know, obviously after they made the suitable, they paid, they paid their players, he felt like they were on the customs, something special.
And, you know, it hasn't really worked out for him ever since.
So, you know, I believe Jared Goff has to be the offensive nbp just to prove that the contract that then gave it was really worth it.
And, you know, he has to try and carry this team, which hopefully he will do our next one.
And I don't want to repeat myself.
I'm not a huge fan of Jared golf, So I said with the bears, pick a defense of M V P without coil back, and we're doing the same thing with rams.
Pick a defense of MPP met without not named Aaron.
Donald Uh, not name Aaron.
Donald, the defense of EVP that I'm going to go with this Jalen Ramsey.
We look at Jalen Ramsey when he was in Jacksonville.
He was He was my opinion, the best cornerback in the NFL.
You know, he Yeah.
Yet all the talk, talking trash, You know, he was kind of like Richard Sherman.
You talked trash and he backed it up.
And, you know, now, now that he's a part of the L.
Rams, you know, I expect him toe to keep that same energy.
You know, he's one of those guys, you know.
He's one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
You know my thing.
He's a top five corner in the league.
You can't name, you know, 55 other cornerbacks without Jim and Ramsey in that conversation, and I expect him toe to keep it going.
You know, he's in a contract year.
You know, you felt that he was disrespected by the Jacksonville Jaguars because they any of the money that that he deserved and which is why you went to the Rams.
So now you know, it's kind on those where you know, in a contract year you better play good or else you know that we'll start move that you made the L.
A. Really isn't worth it.
So let's let's see what happens with Jim Ramsey.
I feel like he will play well.
And and which is why I have my defense, if anything, Pete.
So I don't pick Jalen Ramsey now, um, so I'm gonna take it. Differ on.
I'm gonna go with Leonard Flood.
And, like I mentioned earlier, won, the Rams are very well, We both agreed upon this.
The Rams are really close to going into rebuild mode and to I also mentioned this earlier, right? As we started talking about the Rams, they have Jordan Lawler, Michael Kaiser.
They have outside of Leonard Floyd.
They don't have that.
They have a lot of unproven talent.
And that's why I have lender for really stepping up and making a name for himself early on that Rams defense.
Yeah, I said that.
That's a good selection there.
Especially with what he did.
What? The Chicago Bears. He was definitely very helpful.
That mommy way defense.
I definitely love Georgia products coming out of.
I definitely love Georgia linebacker products they really producing.
If they've produced quite a few studs on their defense in the line back, your area is definitely a big part of it.
So Now it's end for the Rams.
So I'm gonna go.
I'm gonna stay on the defense inside, and I'm gonna go with Taylor rap and to me, I think Taylor Rap, coming into the draft coming out of college, I think he was one of the most, if not the most underrated prospect at his position.
And, yeah, you say Jalen Ramsey and I mean, Jalen Ramsey obviously, is one of the best corners in the NFL.
No question, arguably, but I mean Taylor rap.
To me, not only is like Leonard Floyd, he'll make a name for himself.
Taylor rap Well developed.
I mean, Taylor up, I think, will really solidify himself this this coming season as their franchise safety in their secondary.
And that's why Taylor wrap as the most improved player and not just Jalen Ramsey taking that spotlight in that secondary core.
Yeah, it was definitely a tough one for me Toe select, but it might be all surprising, but I'll go with Michael Braugher's as my most improved player for the L.
The reason why, but Michael Braugher's on there is is he's gonna get more playing time You know, we look at the losses of Dante following core Littleton have pretty much opened up the door for Michael Brokers to be a guaranteed starter at that linebacker position.
And, you know, they also add Leonard Floyd to be a part of that.
And I just feel like Michael Braugher's He's gonna make an incident that, you know, I believe they paid him a good amount of money and, you know, let's just simply see, see what he's got.
You know, I believe he's gonna improve in his NATS, especially now that he's gonna be a lean man at the linebacker along Gramps.
Yep, and, like we both agreed on, um, that's huge, that they were able to bring him back, especially with loss of Dante Fowler and the last team to end the NFC West.
To me, I think this was the most exciting team of the offseason that hopefully able, everyone can agree it's theirs on Cardinals.
And this is another thing that's been getting a lot of hype along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and even now, the new Oven pagers was signing Cam Newton, but the years on the Cardinals they traded for 300.
Hopkins and David Johnson was involved in that trade, and they think they didn't even get a first round for actually.
Yeah, Bill O'Brien didn't even get a first round pick and return.
I believe they traded away 1/4 and David Johnson or on a package deal.
Um, and Bill O'Brien got to be one of, if not the worst, GM in the NFL.
And it's unbelievable that they were able to grab DeAndre Hopkins.
And that gives Kyler Murray.
I mean, obviously, that right, as soon as that happened, that move calamari up in the M V P rankings, like insanely up like he was a top 10 might have been in the top five, I think, for in the N V P race.
Now that he added DeAndre Hopkins and, yes, DeAndre Hopkins, he has Kristen Kirk the running back room.
Now, right now, it's can't be Drake and Chase Edmunds, and you know Benjamin will get Teoh.
But long term, the running back, such the running back room.
I mean, we don't there's no answers to right now.
There's DeAndre Hopkins in the wide receiver room.
Christian, Kurt, obviously Andy, Isabella.
And then you got a key bowler.
A key bowler is a powerhouse, and unfortunately, they lost him to the injuries for the majority of the season.
And then you go the defensive side of the ball.
And obviously other than Patrick Peterson, there's really not a whole lot of guys that stand out on their secondary.
Um, I mean, the loss of tyrann Matthew a few years ago really hurt them.
I mean, actually, years ago, like that was a huge loss for them, and they obviously mentioned yet Vondra Campbell.
But I mean, to me right now, it looks like their defense needs a lot more work than their offense.
But this this to be like, I've got quite a few to say about this team night now.
I'm running for the cars wires.
So, like now they're uncovering them.
So, like, it's it's awesome.
Yeah, most definitely.
The Cardinals have one of the most interesting off seasons in the NFL, and, you know, rightfully so.
They have a very, very exciting group, and I love you touched on the young DeAndre Hopkins Street, and it is true, they basically got, in my opinion, one of the best receivers in the NFL there raising? Yeah, the best receiver in the NFL.
I believe it's him.
Julio Jones and Michael Thomas.
Then Davonte Otto's, then so on.
And so I got Davonte over Julio.
Especially because Davante Adams he leads the league in touch houses 2016 with at least have stability is availability.
Their best ability is ville ability, a ways back on.
So the And they also got Larry Fitzgerald.
You know he's bad.
He's Mr Old Reliable, and I mean, we look it.
Last year, kind of Murray's main weapon was was the old man there? If it's, you know who's still putting up numbers and you know now it's kind of one of those where you know Larry Fitzgerald can retire in peace, knowing that the Arizona Cardinals have a number water cheaper.
You know, now Larry Fitzgerald, he could kind of take a step back a little bit And like, you know, some guys like Christian Kirk's question Kirk, then, uh, Alexander Isabella, like you said, development developments and good receivers and getting DeAndre Hopkins.
It doesn't matter who the team is if you get if you're able to get a guy like a DeAndre Hopkins, who some people say is the best receiver in the NFL.
It's a huge win for the Arizona Cardinals in, and you're right indefinitely, you know, excels Kyla Murray and into the M V P conversation and, you know will definitely help, um, fogey here 12 because most people say that a lot of quarterbacks they have a sop****re slump.
You know where they do great one year and then kind of kind of, you know, if it will out the next year.
You have a bad second year and then house back and used three and so on, but are looking kind of Murray's thank you like DeAndre Hopkins, who is the best receiver in the NFL.
Pair that up alongside with Kenyan drinks.
Larry Joe, Cushion Kirk and you got some things best for brewing down in the desert in Arizona.
Yeah, and see yeah, you mentioned Deandra happens.
Number one guy, the best receiver in the NFL And you also Christian, Kurt, Larry Fitzgerald.
To me, like he's just a guy like obviously, he's been with the Cardinals his entire career.
That's just a guy that, like everyone, like, even like not even someone like coming from Packer fan.
You really hope when he retired that he stays with the organization, kind of stays in the coaching staff like Look at looky, looky Klay retired.
And now he's in the Panthers coaching staff.
So, like that, it's a guy that's always been like a fan favorite, not not even like outside, like outside of Cardinals fans.
So, like, that's something that you really hope for, Um, as an NFL fan that Larry Fitzgerald kind of when he retires within the next year or two.
Um, kind of stays within the organization with the coaching staff.
Um, so let's go into their draft.
And you mentioned this before we went on air in your 100% correct.
Um, I don't think anyone expected them.
So Land is this.
It is that probably that might have been the biggest steel of the entire draft, and I think, I mean, if I fully expected Isaiah Simmons to go to the Panthers, however, I don't think the Panthers went wrong with selecting Derek Brown because they needed help on both ends and there.
D line was hurting severely.
They had no solidified defensive lineman, and they needed to pick him.
Um so I mean, they couldn't have gone wrong.
They didn't make the bad.
They didn't make a bad choice, uh, of selecting Derek Brown over Isaiah Simmons.
But the fact that Isaiah Simmons was it was somehow was able toe fall in the hands of the Arizona Cardinals is huge.
He's a guy who can play all over the field and like he's a really special player that we're gonna be talking about for many years to come.
And he's a guy that he's a hybrid guy.
He plays linebacker, replace safety.
I remember correctly he was.
I know he's a guy that's kind of starting to learn more of linebacker now because he's a guy that's kind of excel that safety.
And I think he wants to kind of trial linebacker a little bit mawr in the NFL.
But I mean, Isaiah Simmons was an unbelievable pick.
Um, the absolute steal by the Cardinals.
Yeah, I definitely agree with you as well.
I was kind of surprised.
Isaiah Simmons, fellow number eight.
You know that some people even had idea Simmons as one of the best players in the NFL draft of 2020 and the Cardinal available for the cars will be able to get him at number eight.
It's a huge win, you know.
It helps improve that defence one, huh? And and you kind of hit it pretty much on the money.
Sam, we look at Isaiah Simmons.
He pretty much did everything for that Clinton defense.
You know, that year were they made it to the national championship game.
They didn't lose tell issue.
But being able to begin their is his greatest well, and, you know, he was made God, that you see, play, play out, linebacker, do the safety.
And he was even a little bit of an edge rusher as well.
So I mean, you look, he's a guy that could do it all.
And you know, you you are right.
Keep ****. He does want to play more linebacker.
And and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play more linebacker for for Arizona.
And I believe he's going to get started right away.
You know, he's a guy wearing on you.
You don't need to sit for a year.
You know he's gonna be the instant impact for the Arizona clothes and definitely gonna add excitement.
We looked at the Cardinals.
They've They've been a slight rebuild last couple of years and, you know, it's almost looking complete.
You know the Cardinals.
What sucks about the Cardinals is there in a tough division, you know, they're in a division with the tea, like the 40 Niners who are still great TV in Seattle.
I still got Russell Wilson, and I mean, look at the L.
They came off a suitable two years ago, so they got a lot of competition, that division.
It's going to see what Arizona doesn't.
I also want to talk about another draft pick.
They did address their offensive line.
They were able to get the offensive tax one out of Houston.
I feel like that's a great selection for for Arizona, especially cause I think they have one of the worst offensive line I lines in football.
You know, common Murray, who's running around the block a lot ahead.
I remember watching the A one time.
Remember when while the office just right ran into Kandahar? Exactly.
So it's one of those Where were you? Any bit of office of line helps whether it's a tackle, whether It's a guard, a center, you know, any bit helps.
You know, for a guy like contrary in, you know, hopefully, you know, I also expect to see Josh Jones to start right away as well.
Just health out.
Help sure up whatever offensive line the Arizona Cardinals have.
Yeah, I mean, obviously the offensive line.
The one of the biggest positions that they needed to address early.
They address that they drafted one player last year late in the round, late on Day three.
The room was six of the seventh round last year, and they needed to address it earlier, and it was barely addressed, and I expected their general manager, Steve Time to be fired.
I didn't expect him to have a job before that draft before 2019 and Josh Charles was a phenomenal pick.
I mean, this is another.
This is another guy that in the Senior Bowl made a name for himself and after after the Senior Bowl, even chase Claypool's Another example. Kyle Duggar.
Josh shows her after the Senior Bowl was seen as first round potential right away, and I didn't I was quite surprised if he was that he fell I hadn't expected to fall out of the 1st 2 rounds, so there were a lot of hidden draft gems and Josh Jones was an underrated pick.
I think he was one of the most, if not the most underrated tackle, Um, in this draft class who has the talent to have a very high ceiling in the NFL, And you mentioned, there are weapons of line.
Their past protection improves a little bit.
I think there bigger concern right now.
Is there run protection on the run, the run protection, especially when you have a talented running back like Kenyan drink right now in your backfield? Marcus Gilbert opted out, and that's huge news.
That's another thing I wanted to bring out.
Marcus Gilbert opted out, and I think Josh Jones can go on and on, not only compete if we have a season, but not only can people win a starting job, and obviously he's not a guy that exceeds in the run game.
He needs a bit of grooving.
He's a guy that has technique that gets in the way with that gets in the way of him here, excels in pass protection and, like if you look at his size.
He needs a mountain of a man and I'm the weight like I love Lyman like this.
The mountain of a man.
And he's insanely athletic shots.
Jones was a phenomenal picked by the Cardinals.
Mm, yeah, 100% especially with what you said when the markets Gilbert opting out.
It could be a potential situation where if Josh Jones goes in there and play, then does fantastic, they could potentially look at markers, Gober And just like you know what I think? What? I think we're fine.
Without way wouldn't go at and which were released.
We'll just go with our with a rookie and Josh Jones.
So when you said that, it's gonna be interesting to see to see how he does, You know, if there is a possibility where you know if you please well enough, you could start, You know, let's that let's just see what happens.
One year will determine that.
I mean, I think going into training camp the position was definitely right.
Tackle position was definitely Marcus Gilberts toe lose.
But I mean, he definitely not only this just have a very high ceiling like I said before, but he definitely has the talent to.
But he varied, But Cardinals very well could have another franchise cornerstone on the offensive side of the ball.
And Josh Jones? Yes, they do.
Another pick that I really like is I don't know how he fell this far.
And that's, you know, Benjamin and I wrote an article on, um last week for the cards wire and Weaver.
I brought this up to you before that.
Right now, the running back looks doesn't look bad.
There's not an insane amount of depth, but you have Kenyon drag.
It looks good for right now, but your long term situation for the running back in the running back room for the Cardinals, I mean, it doesn't it doesn't.
It is very uncertain.
There's a lot of people that think Kenyan Drake is going to be there.
Long term guy definitely is uncertain it right? And there's a lot of people I think Kenyon drinks gonna be the long term guy.
I mean, they have DeAndre Hopkins bringing.
That's another guy that you're gonna have to pay.
I mean, rightfully so.
A well deserved contract.
I'm not so sure of Kenyan drinks.
Their answer it like will be there. Answer.
Don't get me wrong.
He's very talented, but they're gonna have to pay Kyla Berry when his contract's up.
They're gonna have to pay DeAndre Hopkins the guys on the defense of side of the ball.
Whoever decides to pop off divine Gerry Campbell.
I mean, Patrick Peterson has been in like they've had like Cotton.
Not like contract disputes, but they've had There's different.
There's been rumors the past year to now that Patrick Peterson wants to get traded, and then he's denying the rumor.
So, I mean, Kenyan drink.
I mean, we all know that running backs of shelf life and but Kenyan drink is another running back that you're gonna have to pay.
So that's a big It's a risk.
I mean, it's another like to me.
He's gonna have to have a breakout year for me to re sign him.
But like I just said, there's not a whole lot of death in the Cardinals running back room, and that's why I mean Chase.
Edmunds has what I think he has two years left remaining on his deal, and then you go to, you know, Ben's room he has 457 speed, which won't.
While you It's not overly fast.
He's not a tough the Kachin running back down the field, but he's a guy that I mean today's NFL teams.
Today's coaches and scouts look forgot.
I looked for running backs second, that can flourish in both the run in the past game, and you know, Benjamin does just that.
His stats don't jump out, but they show that he's capable.
They're not proven, but they show that he is capable of succeeding in the passing game.
And I think you know Benjamin.
The headline of my article was, you know, Benjamin could be the Cardinals gem of the draft, and I think he was their head.
I think he has the hot.
I think he has a lot of potential, and I think he very well could be the gem of the draft.
And he has all the town in the world.
It's a company to compete for a long term spot on.
He may not be a workhorse guy, but he definitely has the potential to be in that running back room long term.
Yeah, it was definitely and I also kind of feel like Kenyan drink was just a guy.
I'm not getting direct with guys like you know what? We're sick and tired of David Johnson.
There's just throwing this guy named Kenyan drink.
I see what he does.
And, you know, it always seemed like from the first game, I believe first even played against before you fighters.
You know, he popped off in a big game.
So it'll be interesting to see what Kenyan drink does.
I feel like Kenyan Drake is gonna have to while the Arizona Cardinals So much the paper If he Yeah, that's an OK year.
I want to be some kind of walking, maybe draft one, you know, just just to see what what happens.
I was there in that situation and also with the running back that you mentioned, I can I want to see what he's able to do, you know, May maybe if can you drink struggles, you you put him in and, you know, maybe he pops off and see what happens.
And you also hit it on the money when you said of running backs are basically have a shelf life.
It was one of those where if running back struggled, You know, they're very easily replaceable.
You know, that's just is what it in with.
If Kenyan Drake struggles, you know, you just replace him with replacement.
And if he does better than that's just the way it goes, you know Benjamin role.
Think he'll beat out Chase Edmunds for now.
He'll go in is the third running back, but yeah, definitely.
I mean, there they're running back room is uncertain right now for the future.
It may look good now with Canyon Drake, and I know Kenyan Drake said he a few weeks ago that he's not worried about a contract right now and you want to play out the season, which is great.
I mean, it's good that they're not having any contract disputes right now, and I really like that Kenyan Drake is approaching that of the situation like that.
But to me, he has to have a breakout year for me to resign him.
I mean, that's another guy that the Cardinals they're gonna have to re sign.
Quarterbacks are hard to come by.
Kinda Murray to me.
I think he'll potentially get a well deserved contract.
DeAndre Hopkins would be silly to let him walk when his deals up.
So, um I mean, that's another guy that you're gonna have to pay.
I mean, the running back room Kenyan Drake is a name that they're gonna have.
They gonna watch closely on that offense.
And speaking of name is watching closely.
Let's go into season predictions.
So I've got them going.
I've got them going nine and seven and we very well could see three teams making the playoffs.
Um, And I think this is tough because the one thing that worries me about the Cardinals right now is yes.
Still their offensive line, Um, under often side of the ball.
But the biggest concern to me right now is their secondary.
And you're going up against George Kittel.
You're going up against DK Mac Half Tyler Lockett, Robert Woods.
I mean, they, like the NFC West, has young and stud receivers that you're gonna have Teoh go up against in the secondary position with cardinals really worries me, but I've got them going nine and seven and I've got them barely making it.
I think we very well could have three NFC West teams making it, but, um I think if there's two teams, it's gonna be obviously the Niners and one of those teams.
It's gonna be a neck and next season, Um, it's going to be between the Cardinals and see Ox for clinching that.
So I think the second place will be 10 and six.
The third place will be nine and seven, So I think it will be for now.
I'm going to see 97 and barely making it.
Um, I think it's extremely possible we see expect, especially with the extra playoff team in the NFC and FC expert in the two conferences.
We very well could see three NFC West teams.
But with the talent now on how stronger the NFC got, I don't think that's possible.
I don't I don't see that happening, especially obviously we held strong NFC West got but I've got them.
I'm gonna say 97 for now, definitely a good, a good record.
Their I have the Arizona Cardinals going going 79 you know, I have them finishing last in a very competitive NFC West.
I just think they're too young, you know.
They definitely got some building pieces for sure, especially with DeAndre Hopkins with Colin Murray was this and then Spajic, they got something special, bring But But when you're in a tough division, you know, that includes the reigning NFC champions in the 40 Niners and with possibles in the CLC Jac, it's gonna be very hard, is going very hardware division.
And I just think, you know, because of their experience, you know, is why they go 79 which which is an improvement from last year.
You know, last year I believe they had by.
They had five wins last year.
You know, if they could improve that to seven wins, I feel like that would be a successful season fit.
I don't expect them to decline and win total.
I don't expect them to away in less than five.
I expected to go over five.
And no, I just have a Boeing 79 I feel like, you know, in 2 to 3 years, I feel like Arizona could be competing with the Niners within vision.
But as of right now, I got a message.
Definitely not gonna be easy pushover, though They're not one of those teams that are just gonna fall back and give you the wind there.
They're gonna They're gonna fight.
You know, Conrad Murray's gonna improve with the Hopkins.
You know, Isaiah Simmons is going to prove, you know why he's one of the best players in the NFL draft.
You know, I'm very excited to see what what the Arizona Cardinals do just because there's such a good you youthful team.
I mean, yeah, obviously, with town they have.
I see No problem.
I see no reason we can't win more than five games, obviously, but, um, so it's gonna often sometime between unless you start with this one.
Matt who? You got offensive MPP there.
There are plenty options, Teoh Select from It's a tough one, huh? But I'm going to choose my offensive EVP.
And I believe it's a very injury district.
Won this race, the party, But I'm gonna go with DeAndre Hopkins.
You know, the reason why I'm going with the of your Hopkins is because Kyla Berry he finally has that number one receiver.
You know, we see what DeAndre Hopkins is able to do with all kinds of quarterbacks, you know? I believe you know, he started in Houston, you know, he went from ever grind Fitzpatrick, uh, bleach.
Yet D have shut off at one point, you know point guard Brandon Weeden.
And then he finally had given a Brock Osweiler as well one year.
Then he finally had a good quarterback in DeShaun Watson for a couple of years and, you know, kind of Murray is almost similar toe DeShaun Watson, but accept a little smaller and could scramble around more.
So you know DeAndre Hopkins.
He's one of those guys where it doesn't matter who you put at quarterback.
He's gonna produce good numbers, and I expect nothing less.
But when DeAndre Hopkins to produce and be the office of NDP Yep, that's a very good pick up line is mine is gonna be Kyla Murray.
I think now they're giving him all the weapons in the world.
Yeah, they Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk and a running back room.
That looks good right now.
Kenyan Drake and Max Williams.
But if you look at the Cardinals offense, Cliff Kingsbury doesn't really utilized tight ends.
But to me, I think a little bit of a reason for that is the Cardinals.
They don't really have a franchise tight end and like the tight end, is one of the hardest positions, if not obviously besides the quarterback position, one of, if not the hardest, positions to learn of the NFL's the tight end position because there's so many responsibilities you have, and there's so much skill that takes to play it.
I mean, we're starting to see more of it now, but obviously we've seen teams go through so many tight ends, and the Cardinals are a good example of that.
Now they're rolling with Max Williams.
But I back to my point, obviously, about Kyla Marie, because going as my offense of n v p.
Because they now have him with not only more weapons, but they're now building him with more pass protection.
And obviously the big concern still is going to be there.
Run their run protection for their run game.
But I've got Kyla Berry is my offense of NDP That definitely a good selection there.
Let's go Defense of NDP here.
Um so I'm gonna I'm gonna go with the bonjour Campbell.
And this is a guy that really made his name known in the past few years, especially the past year to the Hughes with Atlanta.
He was one of the top guys at his position when he when he was a free agent this past season and Arizona was lucky to have him.
I mean, they were lucky that got the Give Grabem.
And obviously, if you look at the Cardinals defense, the first thing that's going to come to your mind is Patrick Peterson.
And But I'm here to tell you the second name that comes to mind now when you think of the airs on the Cardinals is if you get rid of them, I will.
Let's say three, actually, you know what? Yeah, let's say three.
I was gonna think Isaiah Sevens as my number two, but the Von Injury Campbell is another piece of that defense that they need.
And I've got the Vondra Campbell, and this may surprise you with this one.
But for my defensive every P, I'm gonna go with rookie Isaiah seven.
It's not surprising that I feel like I feel like I'm dancing and, you know, even as a rookie, you know he's gonna make an immediate impact on the Arizona Cardinals defense.
You know, it could be a situation where you know, if Isaiah Simmons.
You know, like the NFL up.
You know, we could maybe see Arizona as 1/3 team in the NFC West, make the playoffs if he produced his well, and if he becomes, you know, that very talented draft prospect that everybody portrayed him as being.
And, you know, I know a lot of people say that, you know, the Cardinals defense is basically Patrick Fusion.
You know, he's been a Stallworth on that defense a long time.
But Isaiah Simmons, time to shine on on.
The defense is going now, and you know, a lot.
A lot of Cardinals fans and a lot of people in the North are really gonna be pay going to think of Isaiah Simmons to see how well he performs this year.
And I believe he's an important so well, that he's gonna be the defense of MPP for the Arizona Cardinals.
No, I don't think that's a surprising pick it all, and I think he's gonna live upto every single hype that he's gotten coming into the draft.
So the last one, I want to start with this on that Who's your most improved player for the Arizona Cardinals in the 2020 season, the most improved player for the years of the Cardinals in the 2020 season.
For me, I leave is gonna be Christian.
Kurt, you know? Even though people have Christian Kurt portrayed as a number three receiver, I felt he could possibly improve to number two.
You know, when we look at everybody, you know, believes that letter.
If it's jail, you know, he's been with the Cardinals for a long time that we've been there for 16 years, entering your 17 with ears on the Cardinals bombing, We look it slay for Cheryl's day, days on number.
You know, it's not a matter of if he retires.
It's kind of when when he retires, you know, when life Fitzgerald retires, you know, you're obviously so I'm gonna have Hopkins up one.
But who's gonna be number two when late for chair retires? And Christian Kirk has a potential Toby that number to one safe for Jodi tires.
And I thought Kristen Kirk is gonna prove to the world just like you know what is my time to shine as as a number two keeper and I'm gonna preview why.
So I'm going to stay in the offense inside of the ball, and I'm gonna stay with that position.
But I'm not picking Christian Kirk.
However, you got good reasonings for it.
I'm gonna go with Andy Isabella.
And obviously there's a lot of unproven talent in the wide receiver room outside of fits Kurt and Hopkins, and you have repeating Butler, who I think has a lot of potential.
Unfortunately, he dealt with injuries.
Andy Isabella has speed written all over him, and that draft class latte like the 2019 draft class of wide receivers was loaded with speed in the wide receiver class diva.
Both Samuel Paris Campbell in India.
Isabella and coming from a Packer fan.
That's a receiver that we need like we have those big, body wide receivers.
And unfortunately, Devin Funchess opted out.
But, I mean in e que brown and NVs in, um, al Mazar.
The Packers needed that average height, speedy wide receiver.
And now the Cardinals have that in Andy Isabella, and I think Andy Isabella could.
I mean, even though he may be in the spotlight of DeAndre Hopkins and Kurt and Larry in those guys, I still think he could break out in that spotlight and that's why I have him is Andy.
Isabella is my most improved player for the years on the Cardinals.
Definitely a good selection there there.
That think I wouldn't be surprised if he improves as well, and I think that's a definite sleeper.
So that will end it.
Matt, do you have anything else to add? Uh, no.
