when I wake up in the middle of the night, they well told you who were watching, you know, know that we, like, didn't juice coffee out.
Do in Lawrence occasion, drinks water would probably to go pee.
Uh, what's going on? A plate? It's just reroute.
And with Lawrence O in leaving.
Gentlemen, this is Sports Catherine News, and we're finally finishing.
Today are the two months long now preview of the NFL.
And why not save the Atlanta Falcons until the very end? A tl Calvin Ridley? I don't know.
He suddenly thinks that he's at the same level.
Is really Oh Jones.
And I'm not gonna knock the kid.
He was impressive.
But do the Falcons have enough to compete in a division where he's got to go wife against Tom Brady? Drew Brees.
Hell, Teddy Bridgewater.
I mean, we kind of discussed our thoughts a little bit off air, But, gentlemen, what do you think of the Atlanta Falcons heading into this 2020 covert filled season? I can start.
Uh, okay, so let me just put this out on the table, all right? If you're a Falcons fan room, you know if if you've just been following me for a while, I've always been like every before.
I'm like, watch out for the Falcons men.
I think they're actually gonna put everything together.
And they're gonna be a good team.
And they failed to make the playoffs.
Every time I say that, it feels like What's it been like, 23 years? I think since they missed the playoffs, um, I've been saying it, man, I'm like they have a solid team.
I think Matt Ryan should be able to be OK enough and then they can win games.
But unfortunately, I'm actually gonna have to change my tune.
So maybe this is actually a good thing for Falcons fence, because now that I'm down on the Falcons, maybe they'll actually be good. It's been opposite.
It seems to have been the opposite.
I've been high on the Falcons, and then they suck.
Um, yeah, like we were talking about, man.
I mean, they have Julio Jones.
They have Calvin Ridley.
You know, Julio, obviously, in my opinion, a perpetual top three receiver has been ever since he's been in the league.
Calvin Ridley, a good young up and coming receiver solid.
I think he had, like, 1000 yards last season, if im not mistaken.
Um, and they brought in Todd Gurley who if healthy, you know, we've seen what he can do is healthy.
But again, the whole question mark is Can Todd Gurley plates of the level that we've seen, you know, in earlier on in his career, where he was one of the top running backs in the league, You know, there's again.
The injuries have come up.
It's a lot of question marks, and they also traded for Hayvenhurst.
Hayvenhurst, I think is gonna have a great season with Matt Ryan throwing to him.
You know, he was the Ravens first round draft pick Not too long ago.
We traded him away for a second round pick, and it was just mostly because we had two tight ends above Hayvenhurst.
There just really wasn't enough opportunities for him.
So I think he'll get that in Atlanta.
So the offense is in bad.
If the question marks turned out to be OK.
If, like Laquan Treadwell, for example, can actually, you know, prove that he was worth a first round pick, But yeah, Unfortunately, man, I think the question mark, they're gonna be too much.
I think that it's gonna be on the wrong side.
I think it's a 50 50 chance that often succeeds.
And unfortunately, I am actually gonna lean towards the other side of that 50 50%.
I am a little bit different.
I mean, I don't think I miss low as you are, Joe, but, um, as a team, I think as a team, they're not too shabby.
They got a good offense.
I think their offense is good enough to compete with some other teams.
They've lost people on defense.
I mean, yes, they still have, uh, Grady, but, I mean, Chorus hasn't been up to where he needs to be.
They switched out basic outside linebackers, you know, for, uh, the blitz packages and got Fowler.
Instead, they lost their number one corner, picked up a J.
Carell toe, hopefully pick up a little bit of that slack.
I'm I'm I don't like their defense nearest much as what I used to.
Um, the biggest problem I think is what's hurting them is their schedule this year.
Their schedule is gonna hold them back so bad, they have got a nasty, nasty schedule and I I under normal day.
I would say there are 79 18 a team.
I think they'll be lucky to win four games this season because of the schedule they have.
We So So you think the Panthers will be better than the Falcons? I'm saying that the Falcons schedule is holding them back.
Uh, I think the Falcons and the Panthers are probably equal on equal terms.
It's just I haven't really looked at the Panthers as much.
I don't think the Panthers are all that good, either.
I don't like either of their starting.
Well, I do like one of their quarterbacks, but I don't like the starting quarterback.
The only reason I like their backup quarterback is because he used to be the practice squad guy for the Coles.
Yeah, um, I loved Walker.
I don't know if he could be, you know, Ah, successful start in franchise quarterback or not, I'm not going to go that well. He did.
But you also gotta remember those air XFL players, not NFL players.
True, so he to me.
He looked really great in preseason, but he is playing with mostly third poor stringers.
Guys off the street, people didn't make the team.
So, um, I just I don't know.
I mean, the Panthers have got CNC.
That's one big huge plus that the Panthers have.
And as long as they continue with him, I think they'll be all right.
They got some wide receivers.
We'll see how the quarterback worlds. I just don't like Bridgewater.
Um, but the Falcons.
Yeah, the Falcons, though.
I mean, when you gotta face the Seahawks, the Cowboys, the Bears defense, the Packers, the Vikings, the Lions.
Ah, then the Broncos, the Saints.
Couple times, obviously you facing the Chargers, you're facing the Buccaneers a couple of times. You face the Chiefs.
I mean, good Lord, that is a nasty scheduled 1/2 the go into and think we're gonna have a successful season, you know? So I just Now, let's not forget the surprise win that they got last season against the 40 Niners of all teams.
You remember that? It was towards the end of the season and the Falcons actually pulled it off.
You know what they say about the sun and the dogs? You know what? Uh I didn't ask to be some Indianapolis turned seven shines.
The sun shines on a dogs.
You know what? Every once a while.
Yeah, that's that's the term.
Have you previously asked right now, Lawrence? Yes.
We give you permission.
Um, all right. I'm all right.
Yeah. Good. Right.
It's time to rise up.
I think the only thing that irritated me throughout this whole conversation was Lawrence is just blasted me against Teddy.
Be who? I think he gonna prove to the NFL that he is a starting quarterback.
He was a starting quarterback before. He was cheap.
He was a starting quarterback when he backed up.
Drew Brees improved it when he took over for five games last year.
But we're here to talk about the Atlanta Falcons.
Listen, you had Austin Hooper, Probably one of the top five tight ends in the NFL.
I'm not taking anything away from Hayvenhurst.
I'm not here to hate on hers, but he ain't no Austin.
Hooper never was.
Never will be. And he's too old.
Mount Ryan is better.
Days are behind him.
like a lot of aging quarterbacks.
We can say the same thing, though, about other quarterbacks in that division like Drew Brees.
The problem is, their level of excellence was always higher than Matt Ryan's.
Matt Ryan's was a really, really good quarterback who never seemed to know how to get it done.
Now you add a little bit of age to him, and that kicks him in the ass.
They had absolutely zero running game last year, so they brought him bad knees.
Todd Gurley, who I have a big soft spot for because he single handedly won me my fantasy championship two years in a row.
Todd Gurley was cut by the Rams for a reason and had nothing to do with his $400 billion contract.
It had everything to do with that contract in his lack of productivity so bad to the point that the Ramses Flatow almost refused to pay him.
But I guess they got all that result.
Julio Jones, top 10 receiver, top five receiver in the NFL.
I don't have him is the best in the league.
You guys know that I I save that spot for DeAndre Hopkins.
I controversially have Odell back and junior behind him, and then I have probably have Julio Jones at number three.
Julio Jones is a great receiver that has freakish things and is probably the only thing that's gonna keep this Atlanta offense alive.
Calvin, really decent writer, TV and receiver as you side up and comer.
Let's see what he can pull out this year.
I'm not ready to trash the kid, but I'm also not ready to anoint him to be this great savior in Atlanta.
But even if you have him as that outside of Julio Jones outside of Calvin Ridley and maybe a little bit of help from time to time from Heat and Hearst, I don't see a whole lot of good things happening on this offense.
Even with bad knees girly running the football.
Now, I don't mind their offensive line.
I'm in Alex Mack fan, and a lot of people don't like Alex Mack.
I like Alex Mack a lot.
I think that he's very underrated as an offensive lineman.
Clear Chris Lindstrom's okay, Jake Matthews could be good.
If you can stay healthy and on the field.
I think They've got enough to keep him safe and hate.
And her skin block is well, where they run into a bigger problem is their defense.
You thought the Fowler today? Who is Adrian Clayborn today? What kind of pressure? They're going to get off the plate.
He's not on the team anymore.
Is even KLibor gone now? Again? All rights.
Clayborn is gone after where he went.
But he went somewhere, Austin.
Like what? He last went to the Patriots and then went back.
Right? Let me see.
I know he signed somewhere.
All right, Cleveland.
There you go. Sorry.
So he's there now.
So now that leaves Fowler in.
Austin Larkin. My correct.
I believe I'm correct.
Well, you have Tak McKinley as well.
Okay, so we have Austin Larkin and Dante Fowler.
Um, I don't like their linebacking corps whatsoever.
And you on the on terms.
What's that? Aside from Deon Jones, besides Deon Jones? I mean, who's there? Number two on that team, Edmond Robinson or something like that? Yeah.
And then from the corner back standpoint, what can a J do? Right? That's what we still need to see Kenny do? Can you start locking it down a little bit? There's the enemy them from a safety.
Is Hawkins going to improve that? You know that the Deep Backfield again, It's a wait and see.
I think there's too many holes on this team when you add to a schedule that they have to go through in a division that's already suicide for anybody that doesn't play in a dome or play in Tampa Bay.
And they're not better than the Carolina Panthers.
Teddy Bridgewater is now not always, but now better than Matt Ryan.
I don't care what Lawrence says and Atlanta is going to be.
I mean, I think we all have them as bad, just in different ways.
Um, four games is not that bad of a prediction, Lawrence.
It's not that bad. A prediction.
My only difference When you is, you said you to give him seven on a better schedule.
I probably would have been around four or five on an easier schedule.
Oh, I wouldn't say I wouldn't go that far.
Now, Now, maybe this is just me, you know, believing too much in this roster, but I think if everything goes well, they could be a 67 win.
T you know, with a decent schedule, let me just say that if Tom Brady's arm actually falls off, gentle breeze goes out.
Joe, before you go on, you remind me of me back in the mid two thousands when every year I kept saying, This is San Francisco's Year.
They have Frank Gore, Alex Smith.
This this is their year.
This is their year in every year.
They just disappointed me.
Well, that's what I'm saying.
I'm super down on the Falcons this year because I just think that they're bad.
But they've had good rosters the past couple of years, and then they just don't do anything with playoff appearances in seven years with pretty good rosters.
Now they're coming with the worst roster, and we all know what they do in prime time.
We already seen that Super Bowl.
They were up 20 five.
Shanahan is no longer there blowing Super Bowls in San Francisco, so let's be real here.
I think the main problem here is that it's Matt Ryan.
Ok, now let me Maybe this is a little bit of a hot because I know Falcons fans.
They love Matt Ryan.
They love what he's done, and I don't think he's a bad quarterback.
I put him on the same level, and this is probably gonna **** you guys off.
That I put him on the same level is Matthew Stafford.
These guys put up good numbers, but they just don't have that de in a that X factor toe win the big games.
I think Matt Ryan doesn't have that in him.
I don't think Matthew Stafford has that in him.
And, unfortunately, Matt Ryan, as good as his numbers are gonna be, he's gonna put up 350 yards and two touchdowns.
But they're gonna lose by 10 because it's such a bad team.
And Matt Ryan himself can't just put the team on his back.
Matt Ryan had Julio Jones, Austin Hooper.
Mohammed Sunu had a running game, had a defense to back him up.
Matthew Stafford had Megatron.
And he had Megatron.
And then, after he lost Megatron, the defense got Darius Slay and a couple other guys to try it apart.
And now Darius Slay is gone.
I do not compare the two because Magic Stafford has never been in the position that Matt Ryan has been in with talent around him with the defense Now, in fairness, Matt Ryan has had some pretty awful coaching around him as well.
And I will admit that going back to his whole career, I'm a Matt Ryan Fancy.
I believed in Matty Ice for a long time.
I don't think that Maddie Isis, who used to be, um again, though I don't to make the comparison the Stafford, because they've never been close to being in a similar position.
Stafford had coaching for a long time, but nope.
Talent around Badji, Baggy, Yemen.
I think the Lions might have a better team as a whole right now this year than what the Falcons do as a whole.
This is the year that they got to do.
If Matthew Stafford sucks the bag this year, I will.
After I apply myself in the face, I will.
Yeah, I fully admit that Matthew Stafford is pulled wool over my eyes because this is, in my opinion, the first time that he's actually had a team where he could comfortably get into the playoffs.
The benefits to the last day but a day where you believe this Detroit team could make it to the playoffs? Yeah, they actually went out and got a few people this this offseason drafted well and everything.
So if if if Matt can't go out there and do so, it's weird.
We're talking about two mats.
A Stafford can't go out there and do something this year than that.
Then there's a problem, especially in the division that they're in, as opposed to the Falcons, where there in just a nasty division where the Lions, their division, in my opinion outside of Green Bay is kind of open to that second spot.
So, yeah, I mean, pretty much all agree here.
I mean, that Ryan had pretty decent numbers, like, you know, what's up. Good numbers.
It's That's not the problem.
The problem is, he's not winning games.
You know he can't put the team on his back himself.
And with a game well, it's hard to win a game when your defense is basically like here.
Cristian Zone could get it.
You know you can run on this team.
I mean, a Grady Jared.
It's an amazing player.
You can't do it, but I'm sorry that aside from that, you know nothing.
So and they don't have true font gnome or either they don't.
I mean, they're banking on a J.
Terrell they're baking on Ah, we got Kendall Sheffield's Isaiah Oliver, Justin amalgamation of these young corners that we haven't really proven so but that's how they got to be fair.
That's how they got to the Super Bowl.
The that that time, you know, all the really young, inexperienced, fast defense.
What, That in an explosive offense On top of it? Yeah.
I don't think they're gonna have that explosive.
I mean, they're gonna have Julio Jones.
We know that he's going to be explosive, but I don't think they also to run game going into that year. Two.
They could run the ball and they could throw the ball.
They had a really good offense going into that Super Bowl.
I think they were.
What did the the second best record in the league, right? Like it's not like they were like a pushover team, like everybody knew coming in.
This could be the year, right? Rise up.
And I mean, really share my hand wet.
The bed is an offensive coordinator, and that's why they lost the Super Bowl.
Um, but But to Joe's point, I mean, Matt Ryan took a really bad sack at a really bad time to push them out of the game clinching Super Bowl game clinching field goal.
Right? It's, um, Matt Ryan has a history of bad things, but the Falcons in general have a history, you know, going for it on fourth and one in overtime and getting stopped.
The line, you know, yard behind the line of scrimmage.
It's there's a history in Atlanta that just doesn't want the poor people of Atlanta to watch their football team to win a championship.
Yeah, unfortunately, um, So I kind of wanted to ask you guys, Do you think that Todd Gurley like, what are the chances? What's the probability of him actually getting back to? Not the same level that he was, but at least maybe, you know, 70% 1st 5 weeks of the season.
I think we see him at 80% of what he was.
I think he looks phenomenal.
I think, by week six, we see what we've seen the last two years and his niece start giving out on him the problem that they what they actually did in L.
A was they brought in help.
They brought in C.
J. Spiller one year.
You mean they brought in help so they could take some load off him.
Very similar to what the Jets are doing with Lady on Bell this year.
By bringing in Frank Gore even though Frank Wars, 150 years old, he will take enough snaps that not all the pressures on there When I look at this Atlanta team, I mean, is it Oh Smith or it Will Smith, whatever his name is, Is he going to take a balky carries? Probably not a lot of it's gonna be on Todd Gurley, and I don't think his body will be seen in L.
Is his body can't no longer take the rigors of And he's a ground and pound guy.
He's not a fin ask.
I use a ground and pound.
I think by weeks six, we're gonna see his body give out.
I think he's still super talented.
I just think his body is no longer allowing him to be talented like Iwas.
You also gotta remember.
I mean, the Falcons, they have a couple older players on their offensive line.
The ran's that girlie was running behind that offensive line was stacked right.
And his type of running needs that kind of big man push up the middle kind of offensive line you talking about? You like I look smack I like him to write, but he's getting there, right? Um and I don't know if they've got enough talent at the guard positions.
I think Hennessy is there.
Uh uh, but the rest of the guys, I just don't know what they're counted enough to get that 23 yard push that a guy, the ground and pound beat you up type running back that girly is needs in orderto help him finish his runs.
And again, we don't know if a guy like Mad Hennessy's actually going to pan out.
You what? I mean, we're hoping that any pains up, but he's still his rookie, right? He's still, you know, offensive linemen in the NFL.
Rookies fall off all the time.
Even first rounders mean where they just don't pay and have.
That seems to be the one position that that It doesn't matter where you get drafted.
Either you're gonna work or you're not you and I mean and you kind of know by the end of the first year whether that guy's going to be a successful lineman or not.
I also wouldn't be surprised if they protect him a little bit.
And he doesn't even have just a rotational guy going into this year.
I think that look, Todd Gurley is super talented.
Let's not picked out away from him and he is a guy.
You can break tackles and sneak through holes.
Um, Todd girl, Like I said, that guy single handedly won me fantasy two years in a row.
What I wished Atlanta did was back him up with another finance running back and then used him as a closer.
Get him down to that three yard line and just town that bowl and then pound the fourth quarter.
Unfortunately, the way they're lining the way their running back situation is set up, he's going to run the ball for 4/4 and Todd Gurley just can't do that anymore unless he has a knee replacement in the off season that somehow really takes going into next year.
I I think if the Falcons air smart, they will do like a running back by committee with Ito Smith and Todd Gurley.
That's what the smart thing to do would be to not give Todd Gurley 20 carries a game.
Split it 12 8 maybe 10 10 right down the middle.
Get Ito Smith involved because you don't want to make Todd Gurley the workhorse running back until he can prove that he can stay healthy.
In my opinion, well, that will also extend this season.
I mean, as Ray's been pointing out, the more carries, he asked, the sooner he's gonna end up being out of the out of the season due to injury.
So the less carries he has, the longer he's gonna be ableto carry on through the season.
I think the problem with it Will Smith, those your talking, five foot 9 £200 It'll Smith, you know, I mean, it's he's not very.
He's a good finasteride.
He's not very good at penetrating and you know, I mean, they don't have that second power guy to hand the ball off to um and I don't know.
You could make the argument.
But I would accept your argument if you talked about Brian Hill.
But who the hell is Brian Hill like? I'm not even trying to disrespect the guy.
But Brian Hills a guy.
You what? I mean, that I can hand Brian Hill still Mitzi, right? Yeah, Yeah.
I mean, he's a guy.
He's a guy who can take the ball, maybe ground and pound a little bit.
He's Mormon finance.
Outside guy is your might be more of a receiving running back.
Anyways, I'm just worried about Claude Girly.
I don't think that they properly backed him up.
They should have went after Frank Gore before the Jets did.
To be honest with you to just have that, have him take some of that load off a girly.
So one thing I feel like we're underrating here and I just want to put this out on the table so Falcons fans don't feel like we're overlooking this.
Is that I think Hayvenhurst is gonna definitely help in the blocking.
You know, four Todd Gurley and for that running game, because let me just say, Don't let the fact that the Ravens traded him away fool you.
He's not a bad player.
I understand he was dropping like 25 when we drafted him and all that.
But this guy is a complete tight end. He can block.
He can do it. He has great hands.
This guy can do anything that you need a tight end to do.
Um, so I think he's really going to thrive in this starting role on the Falcons.
I think that you're going to see him open up some running lanes, you know? And then when he needs to be a pass catcher, he's definitely gonna be able to do that.
And he has some sneaky speed on him.
So I think Hayvenhurst could actually you know, I know that maybe not many people are expecting him to do much because the Ravens just traded him away.
But I think that he's gonna be pretty **** good in this office.
I think anybody who knows football doesn't think he's not going to do much.
Um, the only reason I know too much about Hayden he****s because there was rumors there for a while that the patriot, we're gonna try to make a move for him.
So did a lot of research on Hayden.
Hey, nurses, A good tight end.
I'm not gonna take that away from, but that's kind of where I ended with him.
I think he's good at a lot of things.
He's not great at any You what I mean and that's that was hating her son.
He's a good receiver. He's a good blocker.
You can get good penetration.
His past blocking could do a little bit of work.
He's more of a run blocker.
Um, which is what I was interested in.
Anyways, um, you know, he's a good run blocker and a good catcher, So I think that when you bring that all together, yeah, I mean, he's he's not going to He's not gonna stink out there.
He's gonna be a solid piece around that they can. They can execute.
I just think when you compare him to Austin Hooper, they've taken a step backwards in the tight end.
Position you what I mean and and weaken their offense, even though I bet I think he's going to do just fine.
Um I think that still it You've lost one of the best tight ends in the league.
Um, who's now wasting his career in Cleveland, where players go to die And what I mean, terrible this year, bro.
Don't you know every other gonna win the Super Bowl? Every.
Okay, so I want to put in a Ah, a little something about the running back position for the Falcons.
More through a name in there.
That would be an absolute huge value pick up for the Falcons.
If they went out and got him, they wouldn't.
He's a free agent right now.
I think he'd be absolutely a stud last year.
As many of you know, Marlon Mack get a really good job.
But he missed a few games due to a broken hand.
The guy that stepped in for him was not know Heem Heinz all right was not necessarily Jordan.
Wilkins was a guy named Jonathan Williams, all right? And I saw him.
He was originally drafted by Buffalo and didn't stay.
Um, but the colts picked him up last year.
I love his work ethic.
He busted his butt.
He ran the ball at 120% on every snap during every practice, even even after the play was over, he would tuck that ball around his chest and and do a 20 yard sprint afterwards.
Just, you know, putting that over gin there during that period where he filled in for Marlon Mack, he had, uh, let me remember here 49 carries, 235 yards and a touchdown, All right, that's 4.
8 yards a carry.
He was thrown the ball, too.
Five times he caught five of them for 59 yards.
You know, 100% catch rate.
The kid is good.
I don't believe that he is a star in league, but he is definitely a guy that I believe could come in and do a lot of breather spelling, like what girly needs.
You know the only reason he's on the free agent right now because the Colts running back stable so **** deep.
Yeah, so I'm I'm amazed that he hasn't been picked up yet.
Yeah, I mean, and every once in a while, Lawrence shows his bias.
Say, like everyone where he's usually pretty Good beetle and then every once in a while he comes up with some obscure name that nobody hears.
Okay, well, I mean, no one would know one, because you would have to be a Colts fan to know this kid, right? I mean, he only played two or three games last season out of the out of the last three years, and when he was on the field, he was, Ah, bully running the football.
And I think that's that's one of those kind of guys that you want.
I think the problem with some of these running backs that lake.
You know, I feel like a lot of teams think how I do that There a diamond dozen, you know? So they're probably like, Oh, we can get another Jonathan Williams undrafted, you know, are in the sixth round.
So they're probably like we're all will rule with what we got, you know? So I feel like maybe that's what they're thinking when it comes to that.
I think you need to be picked up for that minimum.
Yeah, I mean, it's it's hard for running backs men, you know? I mean, look at, you know, the past Ravens running backs.
They have like 1000 yards and then the next year they're not even on a team because they know that it was just the system.
Um, but I mean, you know, I'm just saying, I like how the kid runs.
I like his work ethic.
You know, that's the thing that I that caught my eye before he ever even touched a football in a game.
I think the issue they're going to run into is their offensive line.
I mean, like we said, Alex Mack is probably their best offensive linemen and Jake Matthews is decent.
And then you have a young Lindstrom, um, who you're hoping and they drafted.
I think Caleb McGary in the first round, which was a reach.
Um, it's just not great for me, and it's not a great offensive line, so that's that's.
I mean, you've always talked about it.
It starts in the trenches, right? So if this team had an offensive line, then I'd feel a little more confident about this offense getting started cause I'm like, OK, Matt Ryan's gonna have that protection.
They're gonna be able to run the ball.
But as of now, no, her boys So I'm sorry for all the constant thinking things I will admit to everybody in my inner circle.
Nobody will admit it yet we all talk about We're all we all watch, Big Brother and it starts tonight So beginning texts all day from my big, tough rough They're all they're all Gangsters from region Park and are like you watching Big Brother tonight And I'm like of course, all right, boys, let's get into the record predictions Final one of the year.
I'm not even gonna write it down because we've I've lost the book and we might as well stay consistent enough because we're going to do a review show and have no idea, he asked.
Yeah, he asked twice and twice.
I've ignored him when he's asked for.
So let's look at it here.
September 13th Week one.
Hosting the Seattle Seahawks 1 p.m.
Game in Atlanta.
L I'm not even going to discuss it.
Well, well, I I'm gonna write this down for the sake of knowing what we pick.
That's got to be fair.
To be fair, this is one of those gains that Julio could come out and just dominate.
I really think it. Julio.
I think Julio condone Omine eight in this game.
So I try to be fair.
You're still giving them the elk? Yes. Yes.
I think this could be a more interesting game than what looks like on paper Week two at the Dallas Cowboys l There's no chance in hell they win this game.
A really about offense against a really bad defense and a really bad defense against a really good offense against a really good defense.
Yeah, uh, the Chicago Bears.
I'm gonna lean falcons here just cause they're at home.
I'll give them the game.
I think I'll give them the game, even though it's really depends upon how much pressure Matty ice gets off up of that bear sti.
Here's what on Earth is gonna happen that week.
Carson Wentz is gonna be sitting on the bench in Philadelphia, icing his shoulder after took a bad hit, and everybody's gonna be watching Nick Foles leading around the Chicago Bull or Chicago Bears crying and Philadelphia Atlanta Falcons their own three to start the season for me.
Wow! And then I'll put it straight up.
Then they're gonna be own for when they lose to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau in a prime time game on October 5th.
They're still low and four for me.
No, you get in the wind.
About yeah, one and three year, right, 13 Then they go up against my boy Teddy, be when they host the Carolina Panthers.
They get the win this time because they're at home.
I'm splitting and all agree with you.
I'm gonna give him a split as well.
Then they go to Minnesota, play Captain Kirk.
I think the Vikings are a better team, but I feel like the Vikings air just so susceptible to losing games that you may not expect them to.
So I think this could be one of those games.
But just for the sake of this is still, you know, before the season is even started, I'm going to say the Vikings are the better team, so they should win.
They should win.
I'm not high on either of these teams, but I still think the Vikings air a better, better overall team than the Falcons are.
So the Vikings win Well, the Vikings were gonna come third in their division this year behind the first place Green Bay Packers and the second place playoff team, Detroit Lions.
And I'm going to give Atlanta two wins in a row, and they're gonna beat the Vikings.
See, I think the Falcons they're gonna be scrappy in some of these games, and they could potentially pull out winds and some.
I just gotta keep remembering their what their defense is like.
And that's this industry.
Then they go on a bye week and they're gonna be all rested up.
And they got the big, bad Detroit Lions coming in town and it land on October 25th.
What do you guys right now? They go back in the loss column.
Oh, you're giving Detroit.
Oh, Matt beats Matt.
Yes, I'm gonna agree that Matt me beats Matt, but it's gonna be the other way around.
I say Matt Ryan already, and then they go, Then they host or other than they go to Carolina.
So I think we all get to split, right? Yep. Yep.
So that's a loss across the board.
Then they host Denver thing.
I see a blowout.
Now, that's a three game losing streak for me.
A blowout in favor of the Broncos. I'm assuming.
Four game losing streak for what? Actually are coming off their bye this week.
You got it wrong there, Ray.
The Broncos? Yeah.
No, that was a Thursday night game.
He might Ray. Right.
Um, yeah, right. We'll go with the Broncos.
He's going to get all over Matty ice.
Miss Falcons defense is not gonna be able to handle that, Broncosoffense.
Then they're going to go to New Orleans.
L I'm not even discussing this, that it's not even up for debate.
Then they got to face the Raiders Raiders at home in Atlanta.
I think I'm going to give the Falcons their third win of the year.
Because the wheels have already fallen off in Las Vegas by this point.
This was kind of tough for me.
It could go either way.
This is what we're gonna be talking about next year at this time this year.
This time with after this game.
Jon Gruden Stills.
Eight years left on his deal.
I'm going with the Falcons.
I think that for some reason, Marcus Mariota will start this game.
I don't know why.
I just like something told me that.
So I'm just gonna say that and they're gonna lose Lawrence one second.
I'm looking for something real quick.
Uh, what? Oh, they got a pretty good run deep.
No, no, the Raiders defense is horrible.
No, I'm looking at, um, the Falcons.
The Falcons run be Grady Jarrett.
Deon Jones? Yeah, I think they got a pretty decent on run.
D um, I think I think the Raiders, I think this is gonna be one of those mid scoring, you know, kind of high around, like 25 28 games.
Ah, I'm will give it to the Falcons, cause our home.
We all knew you're going there.
You just stretched it out for no good reason.
I was honestly considering because just Jacobs just good running back.
But all right, then they host him.
Orleans you given the split, or you given the clean sweep.
No, it's a sweet.
Um, yeah, I can.
It has to be the queen Suites.
I got to sweep Aziz well, and then they face L. A.
Are they facing the charges going to Sicily? Yes.
Then they go to L.
A to face the Chargers.
The charges tie God, Taylor T Mobile or Justin Herbert.
I guess, um, the Chargers have the defense to be able to stop this Falcons offense. No problem.
And they have the offense to beat this defense.
I'm giving the Monell.
Yeah, Falcons ain't gonna win this game.
I'm not high on the charge of feet ago, but because I don't like either their potential quarterbacks, But, well, the rest of Tyrod Taylor, you don't know.
Uh, but I I think the rest of their team on both sides of the ball are still very, very good.
So All right, So now let me ask you guys something.
Is it the Patriots in December? Or is it Tom Brady in December that you don't want to play? Because then they go off December the 20th week before Christmas? Do they give the Atlanta fans a gift and finally beat Tom Brady? Cause that's something Matt Ryan's never done regular season or Super Bowl.
Or are you calling the clean sweep with Tampa Bay? I'll go first.
I'll tell you what I believe in history in the NFL.
Like a lot of us.
Do you know this team always beats this? This team always beats that.
Atlanta doesn't be Tom Brady.
And unless you're the Miami Dolphins, Tom Brady doesn't lose in December, I'm gonna go Tampa Bay in the scheme.
Even in Atlanta.
I'm going Tampa Bay in this game.
I wasn't the deciding on whether or not they were going to lose this game.
I'm thinking about Week 17 in Tampa intact time.
What I'm debating is if I want them to split or if I want the Bucks to sweep him.
That's what I'm debating now, Um, well want and what you think is very different, right? See, I think 15.
The Buccaneers are still fighting for the one seed, so I think they beat the Falcons.
But in Week seven, thinking they may not be in a position to get that first seed.
So why play their starters that they're already in the playoffs? Because Tom Brady's gonna scream at Bruce Arians and say, I don't take a week off.
I want my stats.
You play, you're playing with the third stringers.
Last time Bill Belichick sat us and Week 17 the Ravens came and spanked us.
The next game we played because we sat for too long.
Yeah. Put my ass out there.
All right, I'm gonna have them split.
I'll have them win this one.
Now, have them lose.
Week 70 given a land of the wind.
And then they got to go to Kansas City who is probably fighting proceeding that point.
Two weeks 17 and then I'm giving him a lost Week 17 as well.
I mean, the chief's first off we're going to score 50 against that defense, Probably.
Um, I'm given the Falcons the win in Tampa.
I think that they're gonna win that game on Lee because I don't think it's going to be that important. They make.
They may play their starters, but the game is not going to be that important to the Buccaneers.
Yeah, well, you're given the loss.
Lords were given the win.
I'm giving the loss.
Okay, So you guys both have them winning four games.
Really? I was a little bit harder.
And I got them winning three games and going going a 33 I thought they would at least have five wins.
I called it, Get on the head, you know you've been and that that's what the upset in week 17 for.
Otherwise, you'd get me. Get three and 13.
But, you know, again, like I said, I thought that there's six, maybe seven win team.
But things have to go very right.
And unfortunately, it would. This schedule.
It's not gonna I told you this schedule is nasty that they have to play against.
It's unfair to schedule be nasty if they had to play a high school team every second week.
Stop giving this team credit when they don't deserve it.
They're definitely on the down stroke right now. Compared toa.
It's about what they were five years ago.
Everything up and just started.
Well, fellas, we are done.
We have predicted the entire league.
Apparently, um, I get I don't have remembrance of doing some of them.
You guys did someone help me and awards for some reason, Did some on his own.
Yeah, and, ah, like the Colts.
And by the way, I like to do Ah, breakdown with the Colts with you guys because I'm sure that you probably feel it.
Be fair. I'm not talking.
Just That's fine, because you want to.
I'm never going toe to refuse the tie.
Even if its assigned to us.
I'm going to start talking about the bills or something.
I'm just like I said, you know, when I come politicals, I really don't right talking about it with other people too much.
All right, let's do this.
We got 15 minutes, but let's face it.
Not because it said an hour and 1/2.
So, no, it's because you're doesn't.
For some reason, I don't know why it does that I got excited the other last night.
Tubes, I thought we're almost done and realized were only 30 minutes in.
Yes, let me let me pull out the Indy schedule here.
All right. So pre good looking at the games.
Lawrence, what prediction did you give them? 12 and four.
What do you have them without looking at the games? First, Joe? 11 and five.
I'm probably sit around 11 and five as well, yet just without doing the games.
Week one at Jacksonville.
Didn't you say you have them splitting here, Lawrence against I'm going.
I think Lawrence told me they don't beat the jacks.
They don't be Jacksonville.
All right? They don't They don't generally win in Jacksonville.
Okay, I'm down for that.
What do you What is it for you, Laurence It now? But I actually selected them to break that myself and get the win.
But they lose in Week 17 hosting job There you were in week one.
Like you just blew the whole climax of this whole thing that wasted orgasm and Jesus again.
What's the point? All right, then they host Minnesota.
That's a win after win.
Should be a win.
It should be a win.
Then they host New York.
Is that Is that the Giants yet? As a matter no, no, that's a win.
Very different in our last prediction.
Right then they have the bears there in Chicago October 4th.
I'm gonna go in Chicago, to be honest with you. Wow.
E offended Lawrence.
It could give them trouble, but I think that the best could give him a little bit of trouble.
But I think that the cold talk I think the coast defense is gonna be like, Well, lock down on this.
It's gonna be cold and rainy in Chicago and the Dome team is going to struggle.
E I think the Colts will run the football like crazy da Bears.
Okay, so you getting for what we're going for? Win Officers Lawrence of offended Lawrence.
Yeah, it's okay, Joe.
I just don't have faith in the quarterback situation, man.
I got to go with the Colts.
All right, then they're going to host.
Then they're gonna go to Cleveland where they're going to eat their lunch.
So that's a win for me.
That's a win, Lawrence.
Uh, I think the Colts might have a lead down game this time.
And if the British play up to that level, and it's the beginning of the season, So maybe the Browns air still gonna be like, Oh, you know, um, I'm gonna actually say it's the Browns.
Browns are gonna win, making I can't get on you for that one.
If they they have a lot down game, I would choose the Browns over the Bears.
Mostly when the season starts.
Yeah, and I have no memory of this.
I only remember them wrong and never remember when I'm right, then they're going to go Teoh Cincinnati, and they're going to eat Joe Burrows lunch and then kissed this girl. Pharaoh.
Yeah, Give it to the Colts there.
Yeah, that's That's a W for the Colts, Lawrence, I assume.
No, and then? Oh, then they got a dome game at Detroit's.
And as much as I love my boys in Detroit, that's gonna be a win for the Indianapolis Colts.
Not many teams that can be done.
But in these one, the court should be able to beat them.
The court offense is going to be able to put up enough points toe override.
What Stackers able to do.
And then all this has to be the first loss of the year when they host Baltimore Ye olde the old Baltimore Colts versus the new Indianapolis Colts.
I actually have this game being very, very close.
I think it's gonna be a heck of a game, But I think that Ah, just to the fact I don't think the culture of start off eight.
Eso got the Ravens winning.
So what I'm hearing there.
Josie actually believes that they're gonna win, but he just can't give him eat it mill.
Okay? I think that I think this is a good matchup between their two very good genes, I think.
What? Ravens are coming off a bye and ask Ray how how they did against the Patriots last year, coming off the bye.
Harbaugh is pretty much, I think he's only lost once in his career off the by, So he's very good off the by.
That's partly why I feel so confident.
However, I do think the Colts potentially do have the formula, which is, you know, if if they can rattle us in the very beginning of the game, gets some turnovers, then they could potentially just run the clock out.
But I still got to roll with my rivets.
You're going there.
You guys take so long to get to where everybody knows you're going Well, right? Then they start there.
They go to Tennessee and start their first sweep as far as I'm concerned.
So win for the Colts and the end of the overrated Titans.
I'm assuming you guys were splitting.
Tightens When this one Lord I got, I got him splitting with the Titans.
You're wrong. It's okay, though.
You'll thank me for that one.
Who, then? They host Green Bay? That's a good game.
I'm giving for me.
I'm getting to the Colts.
Colts always played Green Bay lately.
Really? Really well, so I think the Colts will win.
I don't think Green Bay is gonna be able to stop that Colts running game.
I think the court should be able to win.
Sweet dome. Don't sweet.
And then they host Tennessee.
So we all have winds across the board, right? Yep.
We're back, though.
Then they go to Houston.
I'm having split.
I might have the Texans win this one.
Well, I haven't split two, but the courts always win in our in our G and the Texans always win in Lucas Oil Stadium.
So? So you're switching the split? Yes.
Make it Then they go to Los Vegas revenge game from last year.
Colts beat the holy crap out of the Raiders.
Jon Gruden. He doesn't forget.
He doesn't forgive now, but the rare isn't gonna win this game.
Colts Colts win.
The Raiders won last year against the Colts.
Did they guess? And then they host Houston and we're both giving them a win and Lawrence giving them on inexplicable loss.
And then another one there.
Heinz Fields story Body.
Pittsburgh on that one. Yeah.
Believe it or not.
Even though I would always love to pick a Steelers loss, I think that the Steelers air gonna be, you know, if they're actually a decent team, which I don't think they will be, but if they could be making a playoff push at this time.
So I think the Steelers at Heinz Field in late December is just too tough for the task.
I normally would agree with both of you, but I don't see this team is the same team that was in the past.
I don't think so.
He doesn't because they're playing Indian bed.
What about Ben? He's been arguing for Big Ben for weeks.
Then but they've been is not gonna be ableto I just I think this front seven is going to get too much pressure on.
All right, So you got them with a win? Yes.
And then, Joe, you and I have winds over Jacksonville and Lawrence is a loss over Jackson.
The colts lose week 17 because they rest starters, right? Like cus****.
That will be the third seed, Nancy.
123 Something you well, Joe? Oh.
But to be fair, what would that? Where were they last year? Like seven and nine? Yeah.
With not busted quarterback and wide receivers.
Lawrence stuck to his guns.
The mine was dead on what I said 11 and five.
That was my pretty thing.
And I gave him 11 11 and 5 10 11 12th That is 11 and five.
If they go 11 and five warns that good enough to win the division.
Are they coming in as a while? Are they coming into the wild card? 11 05 Wednesday division.
You don't like Used to can win 11 games or 12 games.
I don't think either of those teams can win 11 games, though.
And when I say either, we obviously know we're not putting Jacksonville on that cover fiction.
I think they're going nine and seven just like they always do.
Texans air going 10 and six at best.
Titan's Air winning seven games.
Houston's within 12 Yanks.
And listen, Will Fuller is not that good.
Lawrence convinced me how good this team is.
I think you guys way overrating the Titans.
Oh, they had a really good run.
It was fun and it's over now.
And I think what we're going to see is the Titans from the 1st 5 weeks that we saw last year.
That's what we're gonna see.
What of the Titans is here and it's gonna be all year.
I love me and I love Mike Vrabel, you know? I mean, I love me some Mike Vrabel, but so I might have got the Titans nine and seven.
They've been 973 years in a row.
You know that's the 9 17 Ryan Tannehill A win win in nine games.
All right, boys, we've done to predictions, um, were really hard on one team.
Some of us were too easy.
Someone's for too hard on the other.
I'll say that I had the perfect picks.
I was right in the middle.
It was a pleasure.
We will be back tomorrow at seven.
Um, Lawrence, there's like, I'm sitting here looking at the thing right now.
I see Bull run is run ins, uh, in a banana and the bananas run a lot. Thank you.
My boy Marcus is here right now.
Thank you, Marcus.
What? There's 49 other people or so that we can't see.
Joe Lawrence, what's up with this? What do these people need to do? They need to stop Freeloading is what they need to do.
And just you know, Lawrence is gonna tell you the whole spiel because he has it down to a T.
Was straight up.
I love how it just become you and I passing it toe, Lawrence.
Yeah, I think it's called because he says this, So Willman I know so well, Lawrence.
