Hello, everybody, and welcome into the broadcast.
He's coming to you live right here on SportsCastr.
As it is Day five of the Stanley Cup qualifiers, the return of the NHL has been fun.
The watch, to say the least.
And today it's the second game of the round robin in the Eastern Conference.
For both of these teams is the Tampa Bay Lightning, taking on the Boston Bruins from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, the Hub city for the Eastern Conference.
And after one period of play, it's the Tampa Bay Lightning with the two nothing lead over the Boston Bruins.
So glad to have you along. Everyone.
Sorry that I wasn't able to do the first period.
It was actually a huge storm that hit my area where I live.
Yes, last night, yesterday evening.
And, um, I'll I lost Internet here.
My home lost Internet.
So there was an outage on, and I just got Internet back like about 15 minutes ago.
So for almost the whole 24 hours, there was there was no Internet, but it's been restored, so I'm able to do period two and three of this one and maybe beyond, depending on how this one plays out.
So gotta have you long, though, as the Boston Bruins were the best team in the NHL, points wise at the stoppage of play due to the Corona virus pandemic.
But, of course, the purpose of this round robin is to determine the top four seating, and a Bruins lost today to the Lightning means that they will not be the number one seed.
Even though there's still one more game to be played in the round robin.
It wouldn't be mathematically possible for them to get the number one seed with the loss tonight.
That's what makes this game crucially important, because the Bruins, of course, air coming off of an opening round robin defeat against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The template lining are coming off a shootout victory over the Washington Capitals.
And so the second period underway from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.
Thank you, Richard for joining the broadcast to nothing.
Tampa Bay, Boston With about 15 seconds left on their power play behind the goal with Patrice Bergeron, Bergeron gets out of the corner up high to the left point.
It's been around.
Move by Marshawn Marshawn over to the right wing with posture not possible with a shot.
The brusque was in front of Vasilevskiy, but it was Andrei Vasilevskiy who was still able to snag that one, and he holds on for a first stoppage in play here in the second period.
Well, it was a dreadful start for this Bruins team to this game. They did.
They did, Ah, have a little bit of a better showing in the later stages off the first period, but hopefully the goals will start coming.
And they can really pick up the intensity here in the second because it was just sloppy for the Ah, opening, you know, half of that first period where they allowed both goals is that shot from David Posture knocked right off the face off when deflects out of play into the protective netting and thank you a Christopher for joining the broadcast.
Much appreciate it.
It's the round robin in the Eastern Conference to determine the top four seeds Tampa Bay on two points after they beat Washington and a shootout on Monday.
The Bruins at the bottom of the standings on zero points after they fell to the Flyers on Sunday Hoster knock trying to penetrate this one forward, can't connect with Patrice Bergeron and will be taken in the neutral zone and sent in deep.
By Anthony Cirelli.
Hedman Off the end boards, McEvoy embraces the hit sends around for Brad Marchand.
Now it zipped around the far side.
Here is Yann Ruta, roots in the corner, just possessed by McAvoy.
The lighting, those still keeping the zone and MacAvoy pokes it away.
The Lightning will reset while the Bruins make some changes.
Oh, McAvoy, A good pass up ahead, but Langer couldn't control, or else it would have been a breakaway.
Now, down the left wing, here comes Andre.
Pull lot A lot lost it, and now Wagner goes cross ice.
He was looking for Shawn, corralling now a battle for up against the boards.
Kuchar off contesting that pass, and now it's all the way.
The near side and Kevin Shattenkirk will whip it around.
Here is Palat Diane Lee Johnson That's going to be offsides, 18 18 to go in period number two to nothing.
The Lightning lead it going back to that chance, though, for Boston.
Yes, the past was played a little behind Wagner, but Yeah, he controlled it, and it was Hedman who got to stick in there. That's a big time.
Play right there by a Victor Hedman, one of the star defenseman for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
That's a big time player right there.
Or else Wagner would have been off and running on a breakaway.
One V one with Andrei Vasilevskiy Faceoff comes at the red dot in front of the Tampa Bay bench, the Bruins win it sent in deep last Vasilevskiy controls over the Shattenkirk Shattenkirk.
Now this will be regrouped by Yanni guard.
Good to the middle and through center.
In gaining the zone is McHale Circuit Chef.
He backhands this one around and now good row behind the net set in front, and that one is dispossessed as Brad Marshawn comes up the other way.
For the Bruins, it's a busy day in Boston sports.
The Red Sox will be at the Rays immediately following this game, so it's Ah, Boston vs Tampa Bay Day in both hockey and baseball.
Zidane Oh, Ciara, now up the boards down one.
Jake DeBrusk Grisly quacks, this one up the boards and that's controlled by Ryan McDonagh, McDonough.
Cross ice duty, Tow young roots up coil.
Got to it in the neutral zone.
And for a second there I was young Ruto with the puck.
He now sends it back for McDonough.
McDonough up ahead Now down the left wing.
Here comes Michael Stephens.
Ciara gets now the corner It's taking down nicely out of midair by Charlie Coyle.
But it's good work defensively as he's just possessed by young roots up that's going to go all the way down for icing.
Thank you, Drew.
For joining the broadcast.
Yeah, once again, guys.
Sorry I couldn't be on for the beginning of this game.
I lost power and Internet at my house due to a big storm last night, So I have So for the last day, that happened last night.
So I've been out.
I've been without power and Internet for, like, almost 24 hours, but it just came back on during the first intermission.
So I'm able to come back on, um, mbia MBI will come on and do the second and third period.
Luckily, I thought I wasn't able gonna be able to do any of this game.
Yeah, you're the storm too.
Yeah, Yeah, yeah, the hurricane.
It wasn't that crazy.
Okay, that's good. Yeah.
It was insane here here for, like, 15 minutes.
It was an absolute downpour.
You couldn't see anything.
And the winds, the winds were what ruined everything.
A tree fell right on my driveway, so I couldn't We couldn't get out until until today.
When? Ah, When we got it removed.
But yeah, it was pretty crazy.
What's going on, Josh? How you doing? I'm doing better now.
Yeah, there was.
I was telling everyone else viewing.
There was a big storm here in my area last night.
And so I've been without power Internet for almost a whole day.
And then it just came.
Everything came back on, like, about 15 minutes ago or so.
So, um yeah, so I'm able to do the second and third period of this game, Luckily, um, and thank you, Adjani and John for joining the broadcast as well.
Thank you, Michael, for tuning it down the left wing.
Here is Liz, only his own short side.
Vasilevskiy makes the save.
And there's a pile of bodies in the net and we are gonna have a penalty coming up.
Corral e was at the bottom of that pile.
Blake Coleman landed on him.
Also, uh, Mikhail Circuits have was involved.
And let's see what the call is here by the referee with 15 23 to go in period number two.
So the Bruins are heading the power play up clear interference there from Coleman.
I mean, he just basically tackled Corral e there.
And Carelli just had to brace himself as he went sliding into the goal.
That's quite an easy call there for the officials.
So Coleman called for interference and the Bruins on the man advantage.
For two minutes.
The Bruins win the draw.
Right point crew, cross ice, edge of the circle, and that centering pass deflects out of play from David Posture.
Knock and nine seconds into the power play, we'll have another face off in Tampa Bay Zone.
Yeah, hopefully we can score here.
Yeah, that was actually the effort from Posture.
Knock was actually blocked by Eric.
Neck got his left skate to that one.
The Bruins over one on the power play so far.
Here's crew, the drive and Vasilevskiy gotta stick to that one.
Bergeron now back to the point Hacer noche penetrates towards the corner.
Back up top crude just barely kept that in the zone.
Now it's Marshawn into the slot.
Bergeron shot, blocked, and now able to clear for the Lightning is Victor Hedman.
That's all the way down.
Ice Rask back to retrieve, and now Crude will take it up.
Crew diagonally for posture, not pasta.
Anoxic takes it.
The center leaves it for Torey Krug.
The zone now has a slot.
One timer from posture. Knock.
That's height angle, but Vasilevskiy covers short side and holds on for the same.
Well, this is better compared to the Bruins first power play of the day when they only had when they had actually no shots at all.
Generated on on that power play so far on this man advantage, just 45 seconds into it, they've had plenty of chances in the Bruins starting to come alive here in the early stages of the second period.
All right, it's Bergeron up against good row in the drop posture.
Knock hasn't now for Boston posture.
Knocked down low, he'll circle around the Netherlands backhand pasta knock at the goal line for Marshawn Marshawn back.
A pot of pasta, not posture, knocks.
It's It's a crew crew.
Back up high for posture.
Knock right circle with Marshawn, who tried to send it back to Crew, took a deflection.
Crew gets there, and now Bergeron has it along the corner boards.
Tries to send it around, but it's at the corner glass and will now be cleared by circuit chef.
40 seconds to go on.
The man advantage for Boston were six minutes into the middle period.
A lot of open ice for Torey Krug.
Krug gains the zone over the Bergeron Bergeron has of the right circle centering pass positive.
Plays it off the shots aid.
And now it's into the middle for posture.
What a chance it was for David Krejci, backup.
Fix the slap shot sent down low, and now it's crude in the circle. Back for posture.
Knock that Dr Wide off the end boards and now up on the short handed opportunity.
Here comes Yanni.
GERD GERD loses a job, and now Bergeron whips around for Torey Krug.
The power players up.
Boston cannot capitalize, despite having a slew of chances crazy back for grisly grisly slap shot blocked in front.
And now picking this one up in is Blake Coleman.
Blake Coleman into the offensive zone.
Coleman in deep.
That will make its way through now on the puck.
Here is or here was, I should say Coleman yet again.
Now Krejci sends it laterally through.
Now it's sent to the end boards coil racing for this one.
And now this is sent cross.
I sprayed in point, won the battle and taken off the boards by plot.
Plot sends it around.
The Bruins had it for a moment to have a those still in the attacking zone.
McDonough sends it across.
And now that shot from Sirnak covered up by to grasp 12.
27 to go in the second period.
We've got a free flowing open game upon us.
It's the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Boston Bruins.
I'm back for more in a moment.
Yeah, I know Drew that that was a poor showing front from the Rangers.
Yeah, the other Keynes didn't look good.
We shall see as that.
I will be back in a moment after this quick break, the Bruins down to but showing some signs of promise here in the early stages of period number two.
All right, welcome back in, everybody.
What's good, Karam? Welcome into the stream.
Hope all is well with few men.
Glad to have you along as we pick up in the second period with a little over 12 minutes remaining.
Thank you, Philly Nation, for also joining the broadcast.
The Lightning leading two to nothing here about midway through this game.
But the Bruins were looking better in the early stages of the second period thus far.
Thank you, Rebecca, for also joining the stream on that power play.
Boston had so many opportunities to score, they haven't found the back of the net yet.
But there definitely playing a lot better than what, Uh, what they were putting together in the early parts of the first periods that shot deflects over.
And why now? Tampa Bay looks a clear point, sends this one cross ice, and it's collected by Nikita Kuchar off who dropped now The long diagonal pass.
Andre Paula chasing it down Now point back up.
Top for Ryan McDonagh.
It's out of the zone in the centre point to share knack.
Nice cross ice feed from the key to Kuchar off down the left wing.
Here comes point point.
Will circle around the goal on his backhand.
Now steps on the brakes.
Back with point point.
Leaves it for Kuchar off Kutaragi into the middle.
Victor Hedman over to coach Rocco Churov, shot from the point saved by Arrascue tried toe.
Let it go, but not quick enough for the referee as the whistle is blown in.
The face off will take place in the Bruins at 11 30 to go in period number two here.
Yeah, I know, I know, man.
These these 1st 2 games for the Bruins have not looked great.
It's been very poor.
They look like a whole new team.
I mean, what happened to the to the Bruins? Pretty pandemic.
Yeah, I know it's been a very slow, slow Ah, resumption to the season for this Bruins team, but they are looking as good as they've Ah looked yet since play resumed on Sunday for them here in the second period, so hopefully they can get a goal here in the second period and get themselves back into this game cause a loss for the Bruins and they will not be the one seed.
Keep that in mind as this is in the center.
Ice crude maneuvers his way into the offensive zone the past, though intercepted, it's played off the boards and controlled here by Patrick Maroon.
Maroon down low for Mitchell Stephens.
Maroon reverses for Stevens, and that went off the side netting.
Now it's up top Here is Circuit Chef.
This is controlled off the boards by maroon maroon down low.
Crude hasn't for the Bruins.
Crude passes this one off the boards.
It's a nice find as he connects with honors.
Byork moves it through center.
He sent this one diagonally off the boards.
The Bruins will make some changes as it's now over the sword.
It shut down the left wing circuits have up the boards.
Maroon moves it forward.
Send it to the hash mark, but the Bruins back in possession Here is Carson Kuhlmann.
Kuhlman looking for Richie.
Richie leaves it back, and that shot from a tight angle off the side netting.
And now the Lightning able to advance this buck out of the zone.
We're midway through the second period, therefore, midway through regulation time in this one here is Kuhlmann Kuhlman, his shot wide.
Now it's at the point.
Krejci leaves it for grizzly.
Makary is like trying to get a shot off.
You'll Circle is way back up high, and now the centering pass poked away.
Boston still keeps it in the zone, though.
Here once again is Carson Kuhlmann.
Kuhlmann goes down in Tampa Bay.
Have possession as this will be cleared all the way down.
Two to go. Rask.
Thanks for the tip.
Glad you're enjoying the broadcast In a very fast paced second period thus far.
Marshall, in intercepts his past, deflected.
It looked off of Barkley good row.
And now that shot from GERD covered up by a Rask and now a little bit of pushing and shoving going on the gloves off of Coleman and Liz own.
The referee will have toe come in and intervene and with nine away to go in the second period will step aside for a quick break to nothing.
Champa still laid it.
I'm back in a moment.
This is playoff hockey.
You're watching the Bruins lightning in the round robin of the Eastern Conference.
I'll be back in a moment stay right where you are.
Welcome back in everybody as we've got nine minutes and change remaining in the second period in its to nothing.
The Lightning lead the Boston Bruins here on SportsCastr.
It's the second game in the round robin for both of these teams.
The Lightning won their opening game in a shootout against Washington.
And, ah, Boston lost their opening game to Philadelphia.
Jake DeBrusk for the Boston Bruins in the regular season in a pretty productive season, 65 games played 19 goals, 16 assists for 35 points.
And he's the type of player that you'd like to see Step up in these playoffs for Boston because they can't be too reliant on their first line, which that's been the case at some points and even the first line was very poor for their round robin opener against the Flyers.
But Jake DeBrusk part of the third line tonight with both byork and coil.
You like to see them step up Aziz well as the Lightning when the face off this shot saved by Rask to grasp is starting tonight, by the way, after he was unfit to play in the opening game for Boston Coleman with the centering pass, it makes its way all the way through to the blue line.
Sure, not trying to keep with this puck alive, but Boston eventually come away with possession.
Now this will be sent in Jeep zipped all the way around the boards.
Now it's back to cru cru slapshot saved through traffic.
A nice stop by Vasilevskiy.
This all started with a saved by the helmet of To grasp is a matter of fact.
He just put his head at this one.
Yeah, that's what That's a nice header.
If it was soccer.
Hey, whatever it takes to go or ask, saving that one on the header off his helmet, and that led to a chance for the Bruins down the other way.
The face off will come in the last circle here, and Bruins went in immediate shot turned aside by Vasilevskiy, and this is chipped into the neutral zone battle Ford up against the boards here.
Kucherov comes away with it.
Kucherov sends this one across the face of gold, and now Nik Richie has it for the Boston Bruins.
Pass up ahead for David Posture.
Knock Koster knock holds on his past given away one back, though by David Posture Not posture.
Knocks entering paths deflected and stolen.
Kuchar, Robin in the middle.
Now Hedman back to Kucherov who dropped cross.
I shot from the boards and it stayed by a Rask with 7 59 ago in Puri number two.
Thanks everyone, for joining me on the broadcast tonight.
I greatly appreciate everyone tuning into the stream.
Hopefully, my Bruins cannot mount a comeback here.
I mean, if you're Boston, you I I honestly, you know, you wanna have never mind the seating.
You wanna have momentum heading into the first round? Obviously, if you go on three in the round Robin, it's not the end of the world.
You would just be the four seed.
But I still think you honestly want to avoid the four seed because then you'd have to play Pittsburgh in the opening round.
The 12 or three, though I don't think, is much of a difference.
After all, the NHL playoffs is on most occasions full of upsets, but the Bruins, very much so still alive in this game here is Sean corralling up against the corner boards Corral E behind the goal for Chris Wagner.
Wagner up high, the one timer wide, and it was caught in the netting behind the goal.
The shots on goal so far, 16 to 15 in favor of Boston as lasagne sends this ****in A space Marshawn racing this one down.
Ah, spin around centering pass.
But no one there for the Bruins.
It's taken in the neutral zone by Brennan Carlo in the past, The Flex into the Bruins bench area for a stoppage in play.
Yeah, this was a good a good job by Marshawn because the past from lasagne wasn't that good of a pass.
It was too far in front of Marchand McDonough.
Possess the puck there for a moment, and then it was eventually Marshawn who chased him down and want it.
This face off will take place right at center ice, and it's back for Torey Krug crude.
Moving forward for the Bruins, he finds Charlie McAvoy, McEvoy cross ice feed for David posture, not posture.
Knocked down low.
Marshawn receives the past, takes a hit in the process delivered by Barkley Good row and now sure, neck into center ice with young GERD.
GERD finds Blake Coleman Coleman now weaving his way through eventually was dispossessed posture.
Not now in front of the bench.
He goes all the way across Jawf.
The half boards now McEvoy to Torey Krug.
DDG crewed up the middle.
Bergeron can't control Now it's all the way back.
Possessed by Ryan McDonagh.
McDonough threads it, thrill and it's good job by GERD as he wins it.
Make McEvoy ties him up.
And that shot from Phuket? It wasn't too far off is he was aiming short side now, cross eyes to the point.
Victor Hedman Xdrive blocked in front.
It will now be picked up by Matt Grizz Lick.
And now Grizz Lick has passed off of coil stick.
Here is Charlie Coyle.
Coils shot off the side netting coil retrieves his own shot, though.
Coil, trying to find a brusque all the way through to the edge of the circle with Brennan Carlo.
And now Vasilevskiy will cover up this one with 5 24 to go in the second.
What's going on? Isaac.
Welcome into the Stream.
And yes, that's very true.
Boston sports teams are doing very poor so far.
It's two to nothing.
Tampa Once again, guys, sorry I couldn't do this game from the start.
I just got service back during the first intermission, so I just got service back during the first intermission.
So I was without.
I was without Internet for in power for about, like, 23 hours, but I thought I wasn't gonna be able to do this game.
But luckily, my Internet came back and around, like, 4 54 55 And so here I am, doing the second and third period.
I am sure you are happy.
And yes, because the Panthers one to keep their season alive. Yeah.
Yeah, It was a good victory for them.
They started well, in that sort of period.
I was actually my grandma's house watching that game and Ah, yeah.
So, um yeah, good win for the Panthers to stay alive.
I'll be back in a moment as the second period continues, the Bruins still down by two.
I'll be right back in a moment.
All right, welcome back in, everybody.
We've got a little over finance to go in the second period, and there's been plenty of physicality.
Blake Coleman of the Lightning, involved in most in most of the bust up Cirelli also going at it with Nik Richie.
This could be this could be what turns out to be the Eastern Conference final.
That could be a real possibility when play stopped due to the Corona virus.
These were the top two teams in the Eastern Conference.
The hits are in favor of Boston, 23 to 17.
Yeah, yeah, exactly was a must win situation for the Panthers or else or else their season would have been done.
And they got that win.
They survive another day, I believe.
Friday will be game Game four of that series.
The Bruins win the draw.
Slap shot from the high slot from Carlo Vasilevskiy on a pad to it.
And now here come the Lightning the other way.
This is moved on ahead by Cedric Paquette.
A big collision along the end boards.
Charlie Coyle now sends it over to Brandon Carlo Carlo into the neutral zone and his past deflects into the protective netting for a stoppage.
Yeah, I believe I believe I saw that the Game four of that series is on Friday.
Yeah, yeah, Quentin, The whole nest of gave the Panthers a great speech.
Yeah, apparently so.
that must have been it during the second intermission.
All you're saying the next game, you don't who know.
I mean, hey, it's Siris on.
Since it's now 2 to 1 in that Siri's and that goes into the Tampa Bay bench area on the past from, I believe it was Charlie McAvoy.
This is the middle game of the day in Toronto, the second of three the Panthers Islanders got the day going from the Eastern Conference hub city with a noon Eastern puck drop.
This game got underway at four, and then the night cap at eight will be the Penguins and Canadiens years. McAvoy.
McEvoy gains the zone his past, though taken away.
It's regained, though, by joking Nordstrom North from off the half boards.
Nice feed to Sean Corral.
Ika Rally down the right wing at the edge of the circle, up against the boards, down on all fours, and it's taken away at center ice.
Moving forward for Tampa Bay is Andre Plot.
Plot whips it around for Nikita Kucherov.
Coach Rob couldn't control, and now it's Corral E who can't hold on.
It's a good job by Eric Sure, knack as he stripped him with a blindside steel.
Here now is Nick Ritchie.
Ritchie pushed up against the boards.
That puck finally poked loose.
It'll go behind the goal, for sure. Knack.
This one will make its way through and into the offensive zone is Cirelli.
Here is Karson Kuhlman Kuhlmann diagonally off the boards, but out of the reach of David Krejci.
Now it's sent up, blocked off by Kuhlmann, crazy over to Kuhlmann Karson Kuhlman in the right circle, shot from a tight angle.
Vasilevskiy there to cover up.
And he holds on for yet another save.
Still a shutout for Vasilevskiy thus far, Thank you, everyone for tuning, and we've got 3 21 remaining in the second.
It was two goals early on for Tampa Bay and now a short when I saw the store.
It's Charlie McAvoy, who makes it a 2 to 1 game and the Bruins on the board, right off the droids.
Charlie McAvoy with a blast from the blue line, and it's his first goal of the playoffs, and it comes with 3 17 to go in period number two in Boston.
Just like that Back into this game, Bergeron actually might have got a redirection out in front.
Let's see the replay here in slow motion.
No, I think that was all the way through.
I Bergeron was trying to redirect it, but I don't think a stick ever touched it.
And Charlie McAvoy indeed gets the Bruins on the board, and it's game on from Toronto is right off the draw it sent down by Tampa for icing.
And this is a huge boost for the Boston Bruins here.
I said earlier in the period that the Bruins needed the goal to assert themselves back into this game, and Charlie McAvoy has done exactly that.
And now they look for the equaliser.
Before the second remission, the Bruins, with all the momentum that passed, sent I actually taken away by Coleman and that deflects over into the over the half boards into the bench area for another stoppage here that was more like it from Boston.
Charlie McAvoy, with an absolute cannon from the high slot face off, will take place in the left circle, one by Boston.
Shaara's shot deflects wide.
Now a battle fort.
You're the corner! McEvoy trying a pry it back to corral it, unable to do so.
And now here comes the odd man rush for Tampa Bay.
Its breaking point, who will hold it up now sends it back for roots up in his shot.
Deflect slide now routes up.
Battling Ford up against the boards.
Glove down in the neutral zone by Andre Poll Watch, although now Boston have it.
A misfire from Wagner and he goes town just ended off of the far side boards.
It's now Hedman moving forward for Tampa Bay.
Kuchar off to plot.
Pull a lot around the goal, and now it's sent across to Shattenkirk.
Got away, though, and now Ciara has it along the end boards for Bill Boston Bruins.
Ciara chips This one ahead.
Cologne closing and it's in the slot and Corn gets a backhand effort.
It is exact its way through and after all of that pinball action or ask able to track it down and cover up for the stoppage.
Well, a couple of minutes ago, it was Charlie McAvoy who got the Bruins on the board.
You got to give credit, Bergeron to. He was out in front.
Perhaps blocking the view of Vasilevskiy didn't appear as though Vasilevskiy had a clear view of that puck.
And now this is a shot from this.
It wasn't a comfortable, safer Rask, but you made the same nonetheless.
Now gaining the zone and moving forward for Tampa Bay is Patrick Maroon.
Maroon has it maroon down low.
Now it's Mitchell Stephens, the fourth line out there for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
And that was blocked in traffic, the Bruins able to clear and now Jake DeBrusk in a race you won't get. Win it, though.
Sordid Chev now threw into center ice and that Sri shots saved by Rask Tampa Bay, though not done here.
Still in the attacking zone or to the left wing was Hedman had met with the blast saved by Rask.
Rebound out in front.
Carlo comes away with it.
We've got under a minute to go here in period number two since the sent in deep all the way through for Erik Cernak.
40 seconds to go in the second periods, a one goal game here from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, that bounced off of Grizzly.
And now down the left wing here comes Andre Pohlad around.
It goes for breaking points.
Richie applying the pressure.
Now it's in the corner with plots centering pass creatures there.
15 seconds to go in the period.
Maybe one last chance for Boston.
It's in the neutral zone with Charlie McAvoy.
McAvoy has to hurry here.
He blast this one all the way around Creature now up against the boards, But that's going to do it as he sent it to the corner and it done and get sandwiched and plot.
Not too happy about that, and neither is the rest of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
And now the tempers starting to flare up here.
You gotta love it.
It's playoff hockey from Toronto as the referees sort things out right at the buzzer, right at the horn, McDonough got sandwiched by both Richie and Byork.
McDonough was put in the vulnerable position there, and you can't really blame point in plot for taking exception to that hit from both Richie, um, in New York.
But a little earlier, there was a cheap shot from Tampa Bay.
I couldn't quite pin out who, exactly it waas, but you've got to say the intensity is up and it does indeed feel like playoff hockey It's the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Boston Bruins, one after two periods of play, live here on SportsCastr.
Still 20 or maybe more to go here on SportsCastr, but the Bruins right back into this one.
It does have to be set.
Welcome into the second intermission report here on SportsCastr.
Glad to have you along.
Glad to be commentating playoff hockey for you guys.
I cannot tell you how good it feels, and it definitely feels better.
As a Bruins fan, considering the scoreline it did.
It did get better.
Obviously, more improvements can be made.
Um, but I thought Boston they looked more alive.
They look to be in the game and not half asleep like they did for really that entire Philadelphia game and then a majority of the first period in this one.
But they got pucks into the offensive zone.
They create a chance they didn't have a ton of shots.
But the create opportunities applied pressure in Tampa Bay's end on and made uncomfortable at times for this Lightning team.
I thought they did a good job of sending pucks in applying the pressure, getting some shots in, and eventually had paid off with that Charlie McAvoy goal late in that second period.
And so I think the bourbon should feel better about themselves.
Obviously, they know heading in the locker room here at the second, our mission that there will need to be improvements made heading into the third period.
They're still down by a goal, but they definitely have the momentum.
In my opinion, it's not like Tampa Bay played that poorly in the second period.
They had, Ah, some decent amount of attacking zone time.
Um, but overall, Boston, the better team in period number two.
And they outscored Tampa in that second period.
It's a one goal game heading into the third from Toronto, Ontario, in the second round robin game for both teams.
The second out of three, both all of the top four teams in each conference will play each other Want.
Sorry, I should make using.
All of the top four teams in the East will play each other once for a total of three games.
The same goes for the West.
McEvoy scored 16 43 into the second.
That's his first goal of the playoffs.
They've only the Bruins.
I've only had two total goals in these playoffs so far, just scoring one against Philadelphia.
Chris Wagner scored that one.
So it's the first goal by a defenseman for Boston here, um, in these 2020 playoffs, and it's definitely more promising heading in this third period.
I think it should be a very fascinating Final 20 here on SportsCastr.
You don't wanna miss it.
I've got more to come here on the second or mission report up next, you'll hear from brain Point of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Stay tuned its playoff hockey from Toronto.
It's the Eastern Conference round robin, and it's the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Boston Bruins.
Won. I'm back in a flash.
Stay right where you are.
Welcome back in, everybody.
Here are your statistics.
Through two periods of play, it's the Tampa Bay Lightning alluding the Boston Bruins 2 to 1.
The shots on goal just in favor of Lightning, 1980.
In that category, Boston have the majority of the hits, 26 to 17.
Here is breaking point.
Let's hear his thoughts after two periods of play.
What is your take on the 1st 40? That's right.
Getting more chance go shots on that we gets its on time to insurance stuff, just like in the Julian Breeze.
Why we saw him get some additions at the deadline.
How is this team different from last year's different guys? You know, we were Bassem Sabry.
Pick up saving work.
Hard banging and crashing has stuff again.
So hopefully keep going in the answer. Thanks.
All right, there you have it.
Great in point, who scored a goal in the first period for Tampa Bay? And let's look at our heat zone coming into today.
Sean Carelli was hot, But you've been a bit cold tonight.
No shots and therefore no points.
Alex Killorn was cold coming into the day, but he has, Ah, goal off of one shot so far, and that is your heat zone.
Let's focus in on the Bruins power play tonight, because the 1st 1 was very underwhelming in the first period.
But then their sound, their second period power play about five months into the period it was it was fantastic.
They really were unlucky to come away without a goal on that power play because they had so many shots, so many chances.
Um, I really thought they were going to score on the on that man advantage.
They just weren't able to get one by Vasilevskiy.
And, um, yeah, posture, not had multiple chances the whole team really did on the power play.
But if the Bruins get another power play in the third period, which I just feel like they will, I feel like both teams will.
The way this game is getting a little bit chippy here, as we saw at the end of the second period, I think you can only expect some man advantages to come up.
And I think the Bruins, if they if they create chances like they did on their power play in the second period, they really have a legit shot of scoring on the man advantage and that could be the deciding factor.
We had a very interesting second period.
The Bruins looked like a whole new team a lot better than the first Sugar asked me to say with his head as well.
We had it all 2 to 1 Tampa the third period, right around the corner.
But for now, the second remission report continues.
After this quick break, Stay right where you are.
Welcome back in everybody.
It's really a jam packed day in Boston Sports tonight.
Ah, the Red Sox are at the Rays right after immediately following this game.
So it's a a Boston Tampa Bay match up in both the NHL and, uh, MLB today and getting over going over, I should say highlights.
Earlier in the day, the New York Islanders were looking to sweep the Florida Panthers in their qualifying round Siri's.
But the Panthers had other ideas.
It was a 32 win for Florida so that Siri's now 2 to 1 in favor of the Islanders.
But Florida survive another day as they extend the series to a Game four.
Would you take place on Friday? That was the early game in Toronto, this one the second of the day before Montreal in Pittsburgh.
Take the ice for the nightcap, but focusing back on this game between Tampa Bay and Boston.
It's a 21 lead for the Lightning after two periods of play, and I think that should be a really fun third period because you know the lighting haven't been great, to be quite honest with you, and I think the Bruins can take advantage of that here in the final 20 minutes.
We did have a little bit of chipping this at the very end of this period.
Crazy just sent up, you know, Puck towards the quarter boards.
And then Nik, Richie and Onders.
Byork just came in absolutely Sandwich McDonough in a a very dangerous hit, quite honestly work.
McDonough was defenseless, crashing into the boards, and Tampa Bay were not too happy whatsoever with that.
And ah, we'll see if those ah, Matt Shipping is carries over into the third.
I can almost Karen to you.
It will the Bruins right ago for Perry. Number three.
I'm sure the Lightning are as well it should be. Ah, fantastic.
It's on the way.
Next puck, drop for the final 20 on the way.
Stay right where you are.
Everybody were all set for the final period of play.
Live here on SportsCastr between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Boston Bruins.
Glad to have you all on board this evening.
I should say a little over 6 p.
Eastern Sun in Toronto.
I greatly appreciate its game on really 2 to 1.
Tampa lead Charlie McEvoy's goal late on in the second period has really set this game up to be a thrilling third period.
At least that's the hope as go teams take the ice there back out there for the final 20 minutes of regulation time here from Toronto, Ontario, the Bruins will face the Capitals on Sunday in their final round robin game.
The Lightning will face the Flyers in their final round robin game on Saturday before we get uh, the rial string of business, which is the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Well, Charlie mad them, which is against the Lightning as, ah, about 14.
It's time on ice.
A goal, two shots on goal, two hits that go, by the way, his fourth career playoff goal.
The defenseman can score as well, folks, Charlie McAvoy has really has really broke out here with the Boston Bruins.
He's not afraid to get involved in physical play, either, and he really makes an impact on both ends of the ice, quite frankly, and on the gold, he was ready to fire that one in on the slapshot and an absolute cannon from the high slot as he slotted that one by Vasilevskiy and has given the Bruins some hope here, only down by a goal.
As we're set for the third period, they give on for joining the broadcast.
Hope you're doing well.
Von Points and Killorn both got on the scoresheet early on in the first period for Tampa Bay.
Then McEvoy scored his first goal of the playoffs in the second, the hits 26 to 19 in favor of Boston.
And so here we go for the final 20 minutes of regulation.
Once again, guys, I apologize for not being able.
Teoh commentate this game from the start, as I mentioned for for those of you who have been tuning in earlier, I lost power and Internet due to a huge storm that hit that hit the area where I live in.
I was up without Internet for almost a full 24 hours.
I lost about like 6 30 last night.
I got it back during the first intermission of this game, right around like 4 45 and so I wasn't expecting to be able to go on and commentate this game.
But it was a pleasant surprise for me when the Internet came back.
You know, all of the ah workers.
You know, putting putting up the back up the utility poles, reconnecting the wires.
Iida a wire fall down in in my yard.
Um, that connects out to the street.
Also had a tro this pump the flex, I believe it went off the bar also had a pretty big, huge tree branch full right in my driveway.
But luckily that was removed today, so yeah, it was crazy yesterday.
The winds were absolutely insane.
But now it's It's a beautiful day here.
It's a beautiful day again today.
You would have never known a storm happened yesterday.
I really No, no, no.
I did not quit. SportsCastr.
Yeah, I was gonna do the Hurricanes Rangers game last night, but I couldn't after I lost power and Internet.
And then that's why I couldn't do the first period of today's game.
Oh, sorry about that inconvenience, folks, But everything's back up.
So So? Yeah, we're all good to go after that storm hit.
It was really the It was from the up after effects of the hurricane.
I forget the Hurricane.
I say us or something like that.
This is down low.
Meanwhile, the set third period Just under way here on SportsCastr.
It's moved up ahead.
Nice backhand pass.
Crazy finds Kuhlmann.
Kuhlmann gets dropped.
What it hit? Deliver.
I believe it was Blake Coleman.
Now Gord skates it out for Tampa Bay.
Jumped into the corner.
Zdeno Char embraces for the hit, and helping him out for Boston was, um, Torey Krug, this indirect past controlled by tampons.
Now Shattenkirk Shattenkirk goes around for short of seven SSA Aaron Pass and it's and it's over the line.
But Bruins have tied it up here with 18 13 to go in the third.
Sean Corral E with the shot.
It trickled through the legs of Vasilevskiy, and that puck was almost stationary and might have Ben stopped right on the goal line for a moment.
And then it was tapped over the line by Sean Corral E or no, actually, was Chris Wagner.
My apologies, Corral.
He was in the area, but I believe this was Wagner.
Yeah, it was Wagner who got the last little touch on that one to send it across the line before anyone on Tampa was able to clear it out.
And it's the Boston Bruins to the Tampa Bay Lightning to and it's game on from Toronto in this Eastern Conference round robin match up Chris Wagner with the second goal of the playoffs, his seventh career playoff goal.
And it comes just 90.
No, rather scratch that it comes.
Yeah, just 97 seconds into the period.
Now Nordstrom sends it around the Bruins, with all the momentum here and now that went off of Corral E Stick Tampa Bay seem a little bit hesitant in their own zone.
This is going to go all the way down for two grass.
We're all tied up in this one early third period.
This is now up the boards into the neutral zone.
Nordstrom tried to send it forward, but Andre Palat came away with that.
Tampa Bay will make a line change and this will be left for young roots.
Up, routed through center in Resc.
Covers up that one off the end boards and right up against the side netting.
And so going back to the Bruins, Goal this.
Yeah, the shot was just sent in.
It just trickled by Vasilevskiy, you know that puck was paused.
That puck was just stopped, right? You know, right near the goal line, and Wagner was the first to pounce all over it.
You know, a tap was all that was needed for the second goal, and we're not it up at two apiece Friday night.
You're watching what? The Wild versus Canucks game? Cool.
Yeah, I probably will be a swell.
I've been enjoying playoff hockey.
It's been thrilling Wagar with the goal and zero Charlie with his first assist of the playoffs.
But get scoops this one up diagonally, and Brandon Carlo will now take over for Boston.
Carlo up the boards for Onders. Byork.
Your gives it away, though, in that effort turned aside by Rask on what turned out to be a pretty good chance for Cedric Paquette.
Another fall up opportunity for Tampa, Rask makes the save with roots out in front.
Oh, yeah, Nicole Richie had his tooth poked out earlier in this game, and, yeah, the tooth was actually spotted on the ice during the intermission.
Well, you gotta respect hockey players.
Don't here, Nik.
Richie and his tooth poked out on a hit, and he signaled to the referee, and I guess they couldn't find it for a little while.
And then during the intermission, it was spotted.
It's a credit to them.
It's not easy to find a white tooth on white ice.
Usually it's the blood from the tooth that gives it away.
The shots on goal, 21 to 20 in favor of Boston that took a deflection.
Grizz Lick will control behind the goal off the boards for posture, not posture.
Knock sends a diagonally.
And now getting the zone is Marshawn lays it off for Bergeron.
His shots still flex wide.
Bergeron tracks down his own shot but will be pushed up against the boards.
And now moving forward for Tampa is Alex Killorn, and now a slapshot drove, driven in.
And it's just why now, the wraparound effort on the backhand covered up near side by Rask.
Now, another chance that's off the end boards.
When opportunity There for sure.
Next Tampa Bay pouring it on here.
It's now back to Schonach.
Once again, I believe that was off of Bergeron.
Now clear the neutral zone.
The Bruins will make a quick change.
Tampa Bay them still with it.
That goes off of Kruger.
Now the Bruins finally ableto possess for a moment as Nordstrom goes deep Vasilevskiy controls thought about going to his left but went to his right instead.
Wagar taking down the Bruins heading the power play.
A delayed call here as we play on temporarily, here is a day No Ciara Charente.
You'll find the shot say made.
And now Tampa possess and the penalty is assessed.
It's going against, I believe it's going against.
Let me figure out its Nikita Kucherov.
Yeah, it's Kutaragi onto the box.
Yes, for that hit right there on Wagner.
Am I surprised? Yeah, I saw that.
I'm a little bit surprised, to be honest with you.
I expected them to win.
But yeah, yeah, Bergeron was the one who blocked that.
Schonach shot down the other end.
Nice work by Bergeron.
Boy, is he the definition of a two way player.
I love Bergeron.
He's my favorite Bruin, although I have.
I have a couple up high on that list, Shara.
But Bergeron's probably my all time favorite, the Bruins, over to tonight on the power play.
Can they change that right here.
It's not Hide a crude, crude down low, back up to crew crew to the right circle, and now it's sent across into the slot.
Tampa Bay able to knock it loose in the center ice.
And now moving forward for the Lightning is Anthony Cirelli.
But we have offsides called help.
Yup, Inter did win.
And in the return of Europa League today, Yeah, so that's good.
We'll have a face off here at the red dot in front of the Boston bench.
Tampa Bay win the draw this time.
And now Sure, that goes now to the left wing shot from the left circle turned aside by Rask.
And now here comes posture.
Knock off the rebound posture, not moving forward.
The Bruins with numbers posture, knock back for cru cru high slot over the pond off the one timer blocked.
And now it's back.
Handed up the boards and out of danger by Barkley.
Good row, Marshawn to posture.
Knock Contra Knock holds up 1 10 to go in the Bruins power plant.
Cross ice feed for crude crude down low, back up high, but that's gonna get by everyone and both teams will make some changes.
Here is rascals all the way out, So send it ahead to posture.
Knock, Hoster, knock over the Richie Richie closing and a huge collision in the crease.
Richie, Vassil, Levski and Hedman all go down and now play will be stopped.
Does that was clear down and Richie takes a hack.
Richie took a hack at a Richie.
Took a hack there at Victor Hedman.
And Hedman didn't like it.
A man. That was funny.
Yeah, this was a huge collision.
Richie had every right to to take a Hackett Hedman, cause Hedman I took a jab at him when Richie was down.
Yeah, right there.
He has every right to go back at him with 46 seconds to go on the man advantage here.
The face off in the left circle.
It's one by Tampa.
And now Victor Hedman all the way down ice.
The Tampa penalty kill.
So far, so good on the day.
It's back with Charlie McAvoy.
McEvoy leaves it for Krejci.
That is remaining in period number three.
And that's gonna be offsides.
The gun is creature gained the zone 25 left in the power plant.
Thanks everyone for tuning in.
It's a tie game from Toronto to two between the Lightning and the Bruins in this round robin match up.
Ah, loss for the Bruins.
And they have no way of getting the one seed.
Do I know a team called Shakhtar Donetsk? Yes.
Ah, Ukrainian team.
They're the team that beat um Wolfsburg, right? I think I could be wrong.
Yeah, they were okay.
Grizzly working on routes that roots it will now clear all the way behind the goal for two core.
Ask Rascoff the boards.
It's a bad giveaway.
Sent it right back in on goal Rask.
It's a stick to it.
And now McEvoy moving up ice.
The power play is up for Boston.
We're back to five on five as McEvoy's dispossessed.
Here come Tampa Bay down the other way.
It's Kucherov, right? Circle Kucherov with the wrister which was just wide to the far sight you're now is McEvoy up and down Action here in the third period, up ahead for Nik Richie Richie moves it up the boards gains the line but it's a nice steal by Andre Palat This part comes free.
Wagner on a battle He's had a goal in both round robin games so far for Boston.
McEvoy keeps in the zone, but that one gets by char and now cleared by Tampa.
You're Brent. His Beers. Brandon Carlo.
Jokey Nordstrom finds Zdeno Char on Ciara Nice find, as he gets it to Chris Wagner.
Indeed, Vasilevskiy back to get it.
It's now in the corner.
Picked up by Ryan McDonagh.
McDonough moves it forward.
Some changes being made under 12 to go in regulation time.
The Red Sox will be in action against the Rays immediately following this game.
It's a day of Tampa Bay vs Boston, apparently in both hockey and baseball.
Coincidentally, Jeremy Low Zone lost it.
The shot from a tight angle up against the boards wide of Rasche.
Now it's into the neutral zone.
It's Paquette coquette, all right into Ciara.
Zidane with Ciara will hold on.
Is the Bruins reset? Here is Charlie Coyle.
Coil find space closing in the shot saved by that Celeski.
He doesn't have much of a clue of where that puck is.
I guess it was underneath him as the referee did hold play.
There was a lot of pushing and shoving going on right near the bench areas.
Paquette in LA's own going at it.
Also, it was Patrick Maroon getting involved.
High intensity playoff hockey.
Gotta love it. A tie game in the third period.
I'm back after this quick break.
Welcome back, everybody.
Sorry about the lights in the background.
I'll get that fixed in a moment.
But here is a look at the Eastern Conference playoff picture in the qualifying round.
The Canadians Penguins syriza's tied one apiece.
The Rangers fell to the Hurricanes, three.
Nothing in that Siri's.
The Islanders lead the Panthers to the one in their Siri's.
The Blue Jackets and Maple leaves tied 1 to 1 in that other qualifying, Siri's so four qualifying Siri's in the Eastern Conference currently taking place.
We've got the top four teams in the Eastern Conference participating in the round robin.
The Bruins enlightening two of them, and then the other two are Ah, the Capitals and Flyers.
It's currently the Bruins who are at the bottom of the standings.
The lighting at the top after one game played for each team has This drive is wide, and now it's all the way back for Torey Krug.
Johnson has the puck for Champa.
Now Hedman sends a diagonally this deflects in towards Rask.
Rasca to stick to it played off the board, screechy in to Brandon Carlo.
It's now into center.
Back in effort is just wide from Nik Richie.
Want a chance there for the Bruins to take their first lead of the playoffs? Never mind this game.
We're midway through period number three.
It's all tied up at two apiece in this one Game two of the round robin for both teams.
Here's Torey Krug.
Crude into the neutral zone.
Crude moving forward.
Crew gains the zone.
Crude down low, he finds Charlie Coyle coil holds up.
Play off the boards up high.
Can that be kept alive? Indeed, now it's Charlie Coyle.
High slot over to the left, circle up against the boards, back to coil.
When it got by, escape brooms off the reset as it's in center ice with Jeremy Liew zone you're now is coil corrida byork and want a chance.
The one time are saying and the huge hit deliver that both teams going at it, and we've got a free for all up against the boards.
That was attorney hit right there on New York.
Ah, late hit after he released the shot and now both teams exchanging words here with 9 41 to go in the third period, we take a break to to We don't want to break its playoff hockey.
You gotta love it. I'm back in a flash.
It's a 22 game as the referees will split them up.
Wow, I'll be right back in a moment, folks.
We've got a good one on hands.
Welcome back into the broadcast, everybody.
I greatly appreciate it.
I'm so glad I would.
I'm able to commentate this game even though I wasn't able to the first period.
I guess I was the good luck charm for the Bruins.
Ever since I came on for the start of the second period, they've been the better team.
It's 22 and right before this Ah, this past this last commercial break, York fire the shot and that he should be thrown out of the game.
On the hit was Barkley.
That's an elbow to the head of Byork, but it's just a two minute penalty.
Somehow on good row.
I just don't understand that whatsoever.
As we've got 9 41 remaining in period number three here to to the score between the Lightning and the Bruins.
I don't How is that just the minor? How is that just a minor on good row? I mean, that's an elbow to the head of Byork.
He should be tossed.
I mean, that's that's ridiculous.
Quite frankly, good news.
Gareth Bale is healthy.
He's not part of the squad against Man City.
Uh, well, it's another power play for Boston.
It should be a off a major on on good row here, but and that is just a minor.
A power point on the left for Boston.
Let's see what they can make of these next two minutes. There over three.
So far on the man advantage, we've got 9 20 to go in the third period.
Here's Torey Krug Crude has, in his own end now, up ahead for David Posture, not posture, not gains the zone.
Place it out wide.
The shots say, made the rebound poked away by Vasilevskiy.
Now it's back up to the point with crude.
Crude has it up high, and he gives to Marshawn along the boards. High slot.
One timer from posture.
Knock it saved now on the rebound.
Marshawn go sliding.
The board's Bergeron finds crude crude Donald Marshawn sent to the cross and it couldn't quite go through the Pasta rock as its back up high for crew midway through the power play, the Bruins pouring on the chances here on the man advantage here is David Posture. Knock posture.
Knock finds Patrice Bergeron.
Bergeron left circle, trying to find the brusque of the backdoor, unable to do so now, Marshawn.
That one got behind them, but he still keeps it alive.
Half a minute remaining on the power play.
One timer from posture, knock blocked in front.
I think, Bertram, I have actually got in the way this puck still alive, but maybe not for long is it's eventually cleared by Anthony Cirelli.
Crude, though, goes right back up was posture.
Knock on side, apparently so as he took a hit afterwards.
It's possessed in the corner by Yon Roosa, who sent it Hedman.
But it's a bad turn over the slapshot from posture not blocked by Ruta.
No, rather Excuse me, it's a McEvoy down low.
The power play has expired.
A pilot crazy, crazy to McAvoy, the shot wide now in the rebound into the neutral zone with David Krejci, Crazy goes up the boards.
It is turned over, though, to Tampa Bay, and now the penalty kill remains perfect for Tampa Bay in the Bruins remain over four year on the man advantage here is Charlie Coyle, though Quoyle finds McEvoy his drive covered up by Vasaloppet ski Charlie McAvoy searching for his second of the game and the Bruins, with all the chances here in these past few minutes 7 16 to go in period number three.
Yeah, and Posture not had an opportunity on the power play, and it was actually blocked by the leg of Young Ruta.
That's gotta sting.
Schonach also got in the way of another opportunity for David Posture. Knock.
I don't know what David Bostock hasn't scored tonight.
He was a scoring machine in the regular season.
He's had so many chances so far this evening.
Wagner, right off the bat, goes wide of the far post and that is off the glass Now the Bruins in a battle for trying to keep it in the attacking zone but it sent out and move forward by McDonough Cross I Shattenkirk effort sent aside by to grasp.
Now another chance from the point is wide.
And now that passes an errant one from braid and point.
We've got epic drama from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, as that's gonna be icing with 6 42 to go in regulation time.
Do you think that they don't need Gareth Bale? Yeah, they don't They Rael Madrid doesn't need Gareth Bale to be honest with you.
I mean, they prove they've proved that they can win without him.
Yeah, I'm with you on that.
What a chance! Their back door.
It was Shattenkirk with the feed in brain and point with a good opportunity on the redirection.
But Rass comes up, Pick the lightning, send it out and a retrieve.
This one is Jeremy lasagne.
Lasagne finds Grizzly Grizz lick in center ice up ahead for Krejci.
Rather Ah, yeah, creates a crazy centering pass that just gets by Richie Now it's Marshawn from the boards.
His shots saved by that Celeski, who covers up and now Krejci, going at it in front of the goal.
We've got a good one coming up.
On Sunday, the Bruins will face their next opponent in the Washington Capitals.
That will be the final round robin game for both teams before the first around in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Get underway should be another great game.
These two teams were the two best teams in the Eastern Conference when the season came to a pause.
Yeah, yeah, I'm with Yvonne.
I think Hamas test.
It has to leave Real Madrid to I mean, I'll I don't see him getting a lot of playing time.
They're here is grisly, grisly wraparound past the centering feed taken away by the Lightning.
Here comes Tampa Bay moving forward.
The backhand pass intended for Mitchell Stephens gets away.
It's poked loose, though, and now controlled by Patrick Maroon Shattenkirk with the drive that gets just deflected barely and wide of the post.
And now this is all the way down.
Another icing on Boston, this time Krejci in maroon or exchanging some words, the referee made sure that was all that was exchanged and not some punches or No, it was up.
And Paquette? My apologies.
I don't know, man. Ramos seems.
Seems like the Tom Brady of soccer is never gonna retire.
Let's see the replay.
Oh, yeah. Crazy.
Crazy Took a hack with a stick up the backside of pocket.
And that's what got them going As this shot saved by Rask.
He makes the pad save Tampa Bay.
Those still with the attacking zone.
This Dr saying, Ah, multiple chances and rats comes up big for the Bruins.
Boston now clear and a chance to breathe for the Bruins.
We'll have to ice and again with 5 27 to go in the third period.
Yeah, sure. Jack had the original chance.
I believe it was redirected out in front and harass claim up big for Boston.
And then from a tight angle, it was Andre plot with multiple chances.
But it remains a 22 game, this face off in the right circle of the Bruins own, and Richie comes away with it and we'll send this one all the way down.
Nobody will be icing.
Rather. Excuse me.
Well, that's three consecutive icings here.
Bruce. Cathie doesn't group the Coal.
I thought it wasn't icing.
I don't think it should have been quite, quite frankly, but I gotta take another look at the replay 5 17 to go.
What a game Here, folks.
If you say the round robin doesn't matter, think again.
It's playoff hockey after all, and that's enough set.
Perhaps it wasn't icing cause it appears they're heading to commercial break 5 17 to go in the third.
You won't want to miss the conclusion of this one.
It's coming up after this quick break.
I got to take a breath to two.
We're getting down the wire here on SportsCastr.
Welcome back into the broadcast, everybody.
We've got a great 1 to 2 to the score between the lighting and the Bruins.
Point and Killorn both scored in the opening period for Tampa Bay.
McEvoy and Wagner had a goal each for the Bruins crude.
Bergeron in Shara, all with the assists.
You don't watch the round robin games, you don't bond, you're missing out, man.
You're missing out.
This has been an epic game here.
We've got a little over five minutes remaining in the third period here as the face off will take place at center ice.
It's one by the lightning.
It will be sent in deep.
Resc will control it but can't connects to Bergeron.
It's eventually taken by Brennan, Carlo Carlo into center ice.
Five to go here in period number three.
Yani Gored sends it around the boards, shot from a tight angle, was sent across the mouth of goal and that take a deflection off the end boards.
Marshawn, now in a battle up against the boards here as he's going out with Ryan McDonagh.
We're within the final five minutes of this one, and you will want me.
You will want to Ah, buckle in for these Final Five.
I'll assure you of that.
This will be chipped in the center ice.
Now here is Tyler Johnson Johnson dispossessed.
Now Anders Byork finds Charlie Coyle share neck now trying to get it from Byork.
Bjork's pass intercepted, but now it's Lazo new hat for a second, but now Tampa Bay lead the attack.
The other way here is Sarah Leo, while wide in the shot from Johnson, ricochets off of her asking out of play for a stoppage with 3 53 to go well the Lightning can be lethal on the odd man rush.
Let's see the replay here.
Yeah, it was. It was a good it was a good pad.
Save by to go or ask on the drive from Johnson, 3 53 to go here on SportsCastr to grasp with 29 saves tonight or today whenever this game is the evening.
Oh, this is off sharply to a chance, and it's saved by rest and the puck is still loose.
We've got chaos and sealing in the goal crease, and somehow the whistle wasn't blown.
So we play on Tampa Bay.
Stow it that wanna say bye to harass point now swiveling through a picket delivered by Wagner.
Now Corral E. With a poor giveaway.
It's now up in the high slot for breaking point.
First line out there for the Tampa Bay Lightning CA Lord for Shattenkirk, but it gets by everyone all the way back.
Tampa Bay will have to reset both teams in the process of making changes.
Three minutes to go in regulation time.
I am sweating like crazy.
All right here is to grass.
Grass cup the boards.
Now it's Carlo in a battle this is just the round robin.
You can only imagine how nervous I'll be if and hopefully when the Bruins are in the Stanley Cup Final.
Carlos past giving away.
It's taken back, though, as Boston, we'll work it into the neutral zone.
Goes down, goes around Mitchell Stephens.
Ruchi sends diagonally to the corner boards, Richie coming in with the hit and him, and I believe that is Erik Cernak going at it Good.
Rhona Jam with Grizzly two to go in period.
Number three was on now up against good rope posture.
Knocked now sends it in deep.
Less than two to go in regulation time.
You any Gordon? All the way around the end boards.
It took a weird bounce off the end boards, and now Carlo comes away with it is out of the zone, Lightning back in possession.
It's all the way back here with Ryan McDonagh.
McDonough threads it through.
Here's a chance, say Maine and the rebounds put in.
And it's Tyler Johnson.
Yeah, who has put Tampa Bay back in the lead with 1 27 ago in the third period.
It came from a great pass right through the middle, right up the middle from McDonough made its way through for I think it was Yanni.
Yeah, Gorge shot was saved by Rask, but the rebound was right there for Johnson, who put it home.
And it's a 3 to 2 lead for the Tampa Bay Lightning here with 1 27 ago.
It's the first goal of the playoffs for Tyler Johnson, his 25th career playoff goal.
Yeah, I I am mad with the Bruins won.
This is disappointing here, and if this result holds, the Bruins will not be the one seed in the Eastern Conference.
Well, they were clearly the one seed throughout the regular season, and it's two games that will put them out of that one seed.
It will come down to that third game if they aren't able to sal***e a point here tonight in the latter stages, it's not done yet, Though the Bruins have pulled their goalie, Raskin's out an extra man out there for Boston.
Can the Bruins sal***e and equalizer and force overtime behind the goal with Charlie Coyle? Coil a pie, He find story crude slips in through the marsh, a marsh in the circle.
Bergeron shot, blocked in front.
Now it's back apart to create cheap poked away by Kucherov crew, the last line of defense.
Now this is shoved in a head to the attacking zone.
We've got 35 seconds remaining.
Here's Torey Krug.
Half a minute left.
Surely that's high sticking, and indeed it is.
We're gonna have a face off in Tampa Bay's end.
It's, Ah, high sticking call onshore.
Tampa Lead the Bruins in danger of losing the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.
If this result holds, was a great split saved by Rask.
Um, a little while ago.
That was before the goal, where there was a absolute mayhem in the goal crease.
And then moments later, there was Tyler Johnson with under 90 seconds left that might have got the game winner for Tamp.
Although the Bruins, still with some hope here a time out, will be called Rascals out of the goal for Boston.
Extra men on the ice for the Bruins with 26.
3 ticks remaining.
So Bruce Cassidy calls the time out, will talk things over with his team here, trying to get the equalizer and force overtime.
This would be a devastating result for the Bruins, who really have come alive here in the second and third periods.
And it really felt like they had the momentum and that they were going to get the win.
Here comes the face off it.
Stevens versus Bergeron.
It is a huge faceoff win for Tampa as they're now able to clear right away.
It's not gonna be icing, Torey Krug retrieves.
Maybe one last chance with ruins.
Quarter of a minute remaining.
Torey Krug all the way through.
Is that a penalty? No, it isn't.
It's a delayed call for offsides and Tory, and now Patrice Bergeron will blast this one forward.
It's all the way through off the end boards, the final horn sounds and the Tampa Bay Lightning get their second win of the round robin and the Boston Bruins suffer their second loss of the round rotting Bruce Cassidy head straight to the locker room, and the Bruins will not be the one seed in the Eastern Conference.
Is they dropped toe owing to in the round robin on zero points? Yeah, big goof for the Bruins.
Indeed, a very disappointing result.
It's not what you were looking for.
A few of the Bruins. It is the round robin.
It's not the end of the world.
There were some more promising signs.
They did play a much better game today than what they put together against Washington, But you'd still expect a victory from Boston tonight for this evening.
They weren't able to sal***e it, so that will do it for my broadcast.
Everybody, I'm Samuel Reese signing off saying so long.
I will see you next time here on SportsCastr for the final time, The final score.
The Boston Bruins to the chance of a Lightning three.
Enjoy the rest your night, folks.
