This is your Barker's Chris Muller.
The 2019 Pittsburgh Steelers managed an 88 record despite only having the services of star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for 6/4.
Pittsburgh lost Roethlisberger at halftime of a week to match up with Seattle when an elbow injury forced him to the bench and ended up necessitating major surgery.
Steelers did go eight and six in the 14 games started by Mason Rudolph in Devlin Hodges.
But make no mistake, quarterback play was the reason that the team didn't qualify for the playoffs despite a dynamic turnover, forcing defense that led the NFL in takeaways.
Rudolph in Hodges combined for just 18 touchdowns in 17 interceptions and in the team's final three games of the season against Buffalo, New York Jets and the Ravens, they were particularly bad.
So what does Roethlisberger's return mean for the Steelers in 2020? It doesn't elevate them to the class of the Kansas City Chiefs gains.
The city is still the best team in the NFL, and, of course, the A F C.
And it would take even with Roethlisberger in the fold, a significant upset for the Steelers to beat them should they meet in the playoffs, however, Roethlisberger's presence would give them a chance in that game.
Where the Steelers have a much better shot is in the A F C. North.
Baltimore should still be good, but the Steelers can absolutely unseat them with a healthy, motivated Roethlisberger playing well.
And the quarterback has said that he's in the best shape he's been in in over a decade.
Steelers offense was a popgun outfit last year.
The threat of the pass was non existent, which made the threat of the run that much tougher to established.
Teams keyed on James Connor.
Connor was frequently injured, and the Steelers simply couldn't move the ball, however, with Roethlisberger back Juju Smith, Schuster is production figures toe uptick and second, your wide receiver Deontay Johnson could make the leap to becoming a star.
What's more, the Steelers running game might be thriving as well, because teams won't be able to stack the box with as many defenders to stop Connor and whoever else takes the ball in a backfield.
That could be by committee.
Pittsburgh isn't going to be the best team in the A f C, but if Roethlisberger's playing well, coupling him with a productive defense led by T. J.
Watt and Minka Fitzpatrick could have the Steelers as one of a serious host of contenders in the A f C trying to take the Chiefs crown.
So there you have it.
That's what Ben Roethlisberger's return means for the Steelers in 2020 for yard Barker.
