You don't really want to see what you missed. We're sorry.
You don't watch the whole thing and see what you missed.
You could check that all out on my instagram I hoops fl.
And if you guys wanna read any of the articles that Everton for company down here in South Florida, that can all be found on my twitter.
I hoops recruits.
But anyways, I'm going to bring on our guests right now.
What's going on, man? How you been? It's good, Brown.
How are you? Pretty good.
Thanks for asking. Was this is ghetto.
Let's get right to then if you still my first question is pretty basic one how to get started playing basketball.
Um, I got into a lot when I moved to Brooklyn and third grade and there was this, like, armor and down the street, which is like It was just like a y m c a.
And I always go back to school.
And I'm just like a film with it.
And why? And when did you decide to go to an image? Um, last year, after my freshman year, I was just like, I really wanted to do something with basketball and, like, I realize I really had a chance to do something special with it.
And I just thought it was a great opportunity.
My mom went to school there, so, like it all worked out perfectly.
Wait, What about your mom again? My mom went to school there.
Just class, like 88 so that was like the family connection there.
Ask why? I never really knew the school was like, I was not older anything, but yeah, that's pretty sick.
So I do know what the prep schooI me and I talkto Gus yesterday, and I know he's kind of staying for a prep year.
Are you doing the same thing? Are you pretty much going to grab great when you're supposed to? I didn't I'm one of the few kids on a team that didn't repeat when I got there.
So I'm like a true software.
Like I turned 16 back in March.
So, like, I'm one of the younger ones on the team, but, like, I don't plan on repeating as of now.
But, like, if I really need to, like, I always have that opportunity to and that's kind of why they all call you like whatever the baby on team.
Yeah. Won't go out to dinner reclassify.
Yeah, And that's actually out.
That was my next question.
So I guess why are like, Are you really the only guy that's just haven't done that on your team? Literally.
I was the youngest on the team, um, this year for like, a year and 1/2 or something.
But like, I mean, like, I think like Jake was saying, Like, I'm more mature than like I come across like like, this year.
I'm doubly gonna stop in like a bigger and more mature role as like Avery and I are like the two point guards.
So, like, you know, as a point guard, you got to be a leader and everything.
There's no time to like B s or anything like that.
So we'll talk about you being one of the other guys on your team, I guess.
How does that kind of feel for you? What have you learned from that experience? I'm being one of the younger guy has actually been really good cause, like, everyone will check in on me and stuff, you know, because I'm like a young one and also gives me a lot of perspective because, like, I'm kind of used to like my old school like it was a middle school in, like an eighth grade.
I was used to like being the older one.
So, like it gives a lot of perspective, and I guess it's good, like for me next year.
So like when I'm looking at the younger kids, I can kind of like, see how they felt, You know what I'm saying? Because I was in that position, her sister And what's your relationship like with some of the older guys? It's great.
They're all they're all amazing, like they all reach out and everything, and it's no like there's no egos on the team anything, and that's why we're so successful, honestly, definitely.
And you mentioned every brawla but earlier.
I mean, you guys are both from the class of 2022.
So talk about what that do is going to be like with you guys and what your chemistry you probably going to be like on the court.
I think we match each other's games really well.
Just like our different types of place.
I think they really like comfort each other honestly.
And then next year, I think it's gonna be big, But I think we should honestly, Avery and I think we should be the best back or the nation if not, then 100% senior year.
So I think that is gonna go really well.
Was a backcourt for sure.
And Ah, another question I have about this season was what was your favorite moment? Um, favorite moment.
That's, um maybe, um, a national championship.
Um, actually, I take that back.
Um, one was one practice we like, struggled a little bit.
We were like we lost, like, two games prior and like, we're kind of falling apart of the team.
And then J c made it like a you practice because that's how we're reacting as a team like we were, like, just doing whatever we want, like in almost like a your organization.
So we came in that practice.
Hasn't like imitating a you coach.
I was trying to hold him.
I live there. It was whole areas.
Um, so then we did like a whole au practice, and I was such a joke.
But then and then Darius, our captain stepped up and was like, This is BS, And then we all walked out together, But then we all came back and it was just like it was great to see.
It's come to gather kind of like that as a team because, like, we hadn't done that in a minute.
And I think that that was Jaycee's plan overall, you know what I'm saying? And then that, like the next two games, we like we finally out together as a team and then, like, we just took stride and took off like that.
That's the best moment of the year to May.
Of course, that's ah.
Sounds really cool, you know, stop.
Someday I'm wondering, you know, the overtime Siri's that come out and march this year.
Yeah, it was March.
They found in early February.
The dockyard Mars 2020 marks 1 20 Yeah, well, for some reason, I feel nothing came out like 2018 really times and flying.
No, I don't Even the items from really not even that is I really remember when I interviewed J colleagues searching upto Watch it on, like, refresh myself When you guys, I thought this thing happened two years ago and then I'm like, Wait, you said so.
I thought only a glitch on YouTube or something.
I can't believe that that's crazy about.
It's great. This is my first year and I'm age too.
So I Yeah, yeah, you may also want to know.
I mean, since we kind of are both in the same class conscious and more casual question you think you think we'll have to take the S A T or a D? I don't know.
I'm starting a tutor next week.
Um, I'm like, I'm really behind on that stuff, so I don't really have a voice there, but it's gonna be weird how this year looks.
Yeah, yeah, I kind of barley lucky coz.
Right now we're like the best.
I guess Aid shot gas exactly.
where? Yeah, we're good, dude.
Yeah, but let's, uh let's take the academics I want What was that adjustment like, um, coming into this? Poor on.
So before I'm until I got all boys Episcopalian school in D.
And it was like one of the top schools academically in the nation.
So the academic change wasn't terrible for me.
It was just like my lack of effort early in the year.
And like, I had to pick it up, I was a little homesick and like at boarding school.
But, um, all in all, it was a good adjustment.
It's just, like, tougher when you're at boarding school, because you have to be way more independent and also like, Yeah, of course.
You know, I'm kind of curious.
So when you goto animates, I do really like haft.
I guess study every day for all your tests.
Or if you're just kind of like, I guess do put in a lot of work for your homework and projects, and thats tougher of the earth.
Kind of naturally smart.
Could you probably get by? Um, no.
You gotta put in effort that it's It's tough.
It's harder than people think it is and also like like J.
C R head coach was telling me something like, Everything relates to everything.
So if you're slacking off in school like it's going to translate on the court to So you got all in buy into the whole program, you know? I'm saying, Yeah, for sure.
You know, I'm just kind of wondering Are the are the classic, I guess.
Different that an average high school like where they like what is known as the as one of the I guess nations like smartest schools.
Um, it's kind of weird.
It's like we have three classes per semester and their 80 minute classes.
So, like it's something a lot of like most kids aren't used. Teoh.
So, like, that's a big change.
But like, I mean, honestly, I think it's one named one of the smartest schools in the country.
Just cause a placement like like you see, like every year.
How many kids, the balance? Both teams since the Ivies, you know, I'm saying so like, I think that factors in a lot, Yeah, I get it now Let's so let's go into your AU season.
I know you had a really big showing out of big shocks Nation tournament being named the M V P.
So can you add on that whole performance? Um, I just think like, well, for me on my you team, like world 16 your team and we play up Seventeens and, like, I'm the only point guard, so I can kind of run the show.
You know? I'm saying and have the ball in my hand, most the game.
So that's a really good thing.
And also, like a lot of kids, like when quarantine having they just stopped working, you know, I'm saying cause like, they're not playing for anything and like like with me, it was kind of different because, like, I'm like, in love with the game, I can I can never stop playing.
So, like, I just went harder and hard, and I guess, like some of that shelling this summer, So I think that that, um, went into it a lot.
Of course, I'm just running.
I didn't do Ah, too much research on your team's got prospect.
You write prospect.
You? Yeah, I don't do too much research on them.
What's are they? Are they in? Whatever like three SS being your U A r No.
One on a circuit team.
We just were just a 16.
You team that plays up unlike anywhere there's no like you ibl are you? Were you a this year? So like it was mainly just like big shots, tournaments and hope group stuff.
So that's we played in.
And if there may be, let's say, now has ever happened.
And there were you IBL tournaments and all the other types of showcases Would you baby played of the different scene? Um, no, I want I'd stay loyal to my coach.
His name's dog doorman has been developing me and many other players.
Is my entire life basically or since I moved to D.
C in sixth grade, so I definitely stay loyal to him.
I mean, also, like, I don't think any of those circuit programs really important to a 17 year, you know, I'm saying so like, I'll just wait till next year.
So is that kind of your plan to leave on And do you kind of know what which turkey might be leaning towards? Um, I'm not sure.
Yeah, I mean, I guess it's just like how this year goes and like, whatever, whatever circuit and team's the best fit for me, but nothing overtly yet all right.
And you did mention loyalty.
How important his loyalty to you.
I think loyalty is most important thing, and life are like definitely for me, too, because, like loyalties, like an action, it's not just a failing.
So, like during the loyal to someone forever, it's not like this temporary, you know, I'm saying for sure and recruitment.
So I want to know what sorts of schools have have offered you, um so, like, earlier this year, Fairfield in my first mine And then, you know, like June 15th is one college who's in start reaching out to 2020 twos.
So then Bryant and Southern Utah offered me that day and then, like a week later, Richmond did.
I was really excited about down.
It was like, really surprising.
Honestly, in a few days later, Brown did.
And then, ever since then, I've just been working and talking in different types of schools.
But those might when the offers is it now, and I guess what What sort of schools been contact? He will live it more than others, Um, like almost like weekly or daily contact.
I've been in contact a lot with Georgetown David San Virginia Tech Scene.
The hall, um, those are off the top of my head like daily contact and then other schools have just been, like heading up now and then.
But unlike daily and weekly, it's been no schools, and out of those schools you just mentioned have have any of them offered you.
Are they just all still interest? You know, just a lot of interest is of now, but not not an offer yet and explained to me, you said daily con daily contact like, But what are they exactly like telling you? Were they calling you every day texting every day? And what are they saying? Um, like, facetime me whatever.
Just check in on me and see how I'm doing.
See what I'm like working on, You know, I'm saying, like, see how the summer is gone.
It's basically just like a check in.
So So they check in with you, like every day, pretty much like, Oh, well, move.
Are you working on today? Basically like that? Not every day.
It's more like once a week like, you know what I'm saying, But it's like it's still like we're connected, of course.
And so I I know a lot of people and it won't they just so much academics.
We said that earlier.
Then you all said a lot of the guys do go to the Ivy leagues, but you and you and every brown, but we'll stick to you.
So I mean, but you guys, you have similar offers.
But a lot of your offers, right? At least a handful of them are all from high major schools, mid major schools, and they're not all from the Ivy League.
So do you think you might maybe stray away from the Ivy League path? Yeah, um, I think it's just gonna come down on what's the best fit for May.
I'm not like looking like an exact conference yet.
I just want to like for me, I'm not, like, really worried about like, offers or anything like that, because I know like if I just keep working and all play itself out.
So, like, for me, the only thing I'm worried about is getting better.
Every day is like, I know what the end of the day All the offers and all that will comment and I'll take care of itself.
I keep work and I prefer Honestly, I will, actually, no, I'm definite.
Mixing up by Noah Gaza He told me yesterday that he really likes the University of Richmond.
That was one of the school's out of ah thing.
Offer him pretty sure.
Do you maybe think that guys on your team might maybe be using any up pure pressure once you kind of get to that point when it's time for you to almost make your decision? Did you got some? Current teammates might try obliterating you a little bit.
Yeah, I think for sure.
I think it's like at the end of the day it's gonna be their decision.
But I think peer pressure definitely goes, and I'm are not as experience, and it's like I wouldn't really know.
But, like, based on like what I've been saying, I think a little pear pressure goes into it for sure, of course.
And finally I want to know what your goals in life basketball wives and outside of basketball, Um, well, I think basketball is definitely plant A for me on and but that comes to like, if that's what ends up like not working like I definitely want to go on a long.
So, like, that's why stressed the importance of going like, really high academic school.
Yeah, that's actually funny.
You say that I actually I don't think you Yes, sorry just what you say.
Not all your group about and the show anyways.
But that's so that's funny about how you want to maybe do lost basketballs and work out. Yeah.
I don't wanna be a coach.
And then what? I'm a graduate assistant at the school.
Probably get a lot of people work.
A scenario on the lawyer.
All right, so is everything.
You want a blogger? Anybody want to shout out before it through the shot? Um, not really.
Just I really appreciate being like it, though.
Yeah, I really appreciate you.
Anyways, make sure you got followers on Instagram.
I hoped about that.
Rohan be 70 and ways for ah, Northfield now.
Ah, way I had it comes out by looking for Northfield Mountain running our relatives rumba.
