So you know that.
He didn't say that.
She all right? I'll be honest.
I was waiting for the green room.
Teoh, get this kind of started? I don't know if l know, but SportsCastr kicked off this brand new process where it gives folks like myself and others who are broadcasting on the platform about 15 minutes to kind of get our acts together.
Um, so I was waiting for my green room.
I never got my green room.
So let's go right into this man.
It's too good a game to not jump right into it.
My name is Jose.
I am with Peach Basket, Peach dash basket dot net way have been covering the MBA.
Really specifically Lakers and Clippers for about three seasons.
We are expanding our reach, Thanks in large part, Teoh.
What we're able to do here on SportsCastr, really excited about the platform and really excited to have basketball back.
We have been spending months now like most of you basketball fans talking about what ifs Talking about the bubble, talking about the rules, talking about the regulations.
Now we get a chance to enjoy riel N B a basketball way.
Talked a little bit about this last time we connected and chatted with your but I want to kind of re emphasize how good the games are.
I thought that without fans with piped in music, it would be less of a game.
Um, the viewing experience will be the same, but I was wrong.
I'll admit it big enough of a man enough to admit that, uh, it was a mistake.
The game was good.
That game was fun to watch.
That wasn't particularly well played originally are initially but men after the team got their legs, it, uh it was a fun, fun game.
I'm talking Lakers and clippers.
Incidentally, I should clarify that could have been a lot of good games since the, um since the MBA restart.
So let's dive right into this.
Um, uh, usually I do this with other writers from peach Basket.
I am waiting on Tony who may or may not be with us tonight.
I'm gonna go and just get started and hopefully jump on a little bit later, but I don't want to spend a whole lot of time.
This is a great game I want to talk about it briefly.
Um and then you move on to the next first thing.
I'm gonna point out, um, Lakers and Clippers are the best teams in the MBA.
The only other team that could probably make an argument are the Milwaukee Bucks.
And when you got the two best teams playing together, it really elevates the play.
And I think we saw that now we didn't see in the first quarter.
Ah, things started off really raggedy, but it got better as the game went along.
First thing I want to call out is that you know, we've got two great players on Lakers.
We've got two great players on the Clippers and first, real jarring thing I noticed when I looked at the box score was that the Clippers two stars Kwai Leonard, Paul George outscored the Lakers to stars, and that was really on the strength of LeBron and having a great game.
But LeBron and 80 amount accounted for 50 points.
The Clippers stars accounted for 58 most telling and this is kind of the big thing for me was the shooting percentage.
Um, the Lakers two stars to 38 shots made 14 37%.
The Clippers were a lot more efficient.
33 shots made, 18.
That's a great shooting percentages.
Paul George looked like an All Star.
He looked like the player he was last year.
A supposed to kind of the Hubble player.
It's a bit, but we really haven't seen consistently that Paul George is back.
It's means the Clippers chip to take home.
I think I don't see anybody really beating him, but that's the issue. Great.
The Lakers beat them.
The Lakers freedom in what was a weird up and down game that looked like the Lakers look good initial, even on the Clippers.
And then we have this kind of in between where they were just battling.
And then at the end, LeBron asserted his dominance as the greatest player currently in the N B A.
And I think the greatest player of the game is seen in a generation.
Um, obviously that's up for debate.
But he showed what he has left in the tank and was pretty amazing.
This win by the Lakers puts them up.
5 games with seven to play.
So they're essentially a lock for the first spot, and that's no surprise.
There is no way the Clippers going to catch him.
There's no way the Lakers are really gonna have to worry about the last seven games.
It's a really huge benefit for them.
Winning this game mattered because, obviously, beating the Clippers matter, Uh, putting their stamp on them, just putting a little doubt in their mind.
The Clippers mind that they can stay with them.
They can't beat him.
But more important is now these next seven games. Men.
Vogel has got the advantage of resting his stars of integrating Dion waiters of integrating J.
Smith, leading them get into the flow.
It is a huge advantage on Maybe I don't think we're under its really said to come and come back into the second round of the playoffs, so I was gonna say maybe integrated around, but that's not an option.
But getting the team together, they could use the seven games to experiment.
It's a huge advantage for the Lakers and really positions them well as they go into the playoffs.
The Clippers, there was a point.
I think it was end of the third start of the fourth where they had literally nobody.
Most casual MBA fans would recognize on the team they're playing in your coffee.
Reggie Jackson of the exuberance got some run with them.
The team looked like their third team and they were hanging with the Lakers.
Most people play sports.
Certainly most professional athletes don't like the term moral victory, and I'm not gonna claim that for these Clippers against the Lakers, they lost, and a loss is a loss.
It's a simple is that the other team beat you? Um, but it's hard to not take away some positivity from that game.
We know the Clippers were without Lou Williams.
We know the Clippers were without Montrose.
Harold, these two guys are bench players, and maybe the casual fan isn't real familiar with what those two guys mean to this team.
But these guys don't start, but they get started minutes.
They are number three and four in minutes behind Paul George and quite letter there.
The closers, these are the guys that would have been in there at the end, and that doesn't matter, because instead of a Reggie Jackson.
That may be, who wasn't having a great game.
Our own Marcus Morris, who had a horrible game? Um, it would have been mantra as it would have been Lou Williams, and that changes the dynamic.
So when the Clippers, I think look at this, they go, listen, we could hang with These.
Lakers were not particularly worried.
Certainly there's there's there's no alarm bells going off, I was going to say in Staples, but they're all in Orlando, but you get the point.
No moral victory, but no cause for concern without Lou will and try as they held their own and they played pretty well.
I do want also call this out because I kind of alluded to it.
It is shocking what the Clippers got from their starting center, and they're starting power forward, literally nothing.
The only thing I can say is that Zuba has had one dunk.
Uh, Marcus Morris had no points in your generally we haven't off game, you know, you're not shooting.
You want to see other things on that box score.
But, you know, we really didn't see a presence from markets more.
Zuba has had a couple of, you know, good flashes.
But Marcus Morris just looked like he's gonna get his wind band.
Huh? The Lakers Department Clippers are necessary relying on this guy because they've got mantra zero.
But there's likely gonna come a time when they need him to make a big shot or make a big stop, A grab a big rebound in this game.
He didn't do any of that, Uh, which was rough toe watch.
I just appreciate that, Uh, Lexie poo, the tip.
We, uh that means a lot to us.
Uh, I say it every time we get some acknowledgement on this platform.
We're still learning.
We're still trying to figure all this out.
There's quite a few on watching on and appreciate each and every one of you, man.
Last thing I wanted to talk about when it came to this game is since really the start of the season when it became evident that the Clippers and the Lakers or the best teams in the Western Conference we've talked a lot about your these guys matching up.
If you're not from l.
A, you may not really understand.
Um, the Lakers ruled blessing.
Just continue to tell us they are the best team out of Los Angeles when you look at, you know, historically, there are your second most winningest franchise in the MPA.
They cast a huge shadow, but over the last 67 seasons, the Clippers have been better.
The Clippers have beaten the Lakers.
The Clippers have gone further than the Lakers.
Things has really been the Clippers town of Laker fans with you.
We'll get pregnant at it and apologize, but the Clippers have owned L.
A. In terms of being a better basketball team. That's undeniable.
This year for the first time in a very long time, and they're on par.
And ah, lot has been said even in this last broadcast that there is a battle for L.
A rivalry between these two teams.
And, man, there isn't retail.
There is not, Um, because for so many years there were they were never equals.
The Lakers always stomped on the Clippers and the Clippers have been stopping on the Lakers.
This is the first season where you had a battle between these two.
There was a moment, um, I want to say maybe about 10 years ago, maybe a little bit less when they were both kind of mediocre.
The Lakers you began, their declined.
The Clippers were just rising and they met in the middle on they were equal at that point.
But who cares? You know, they were both just This is the first time in the franchise history for both teams that they're both phenomenal and they both have a chance to win it.
A rivalry is born, not from proximity to your rival, the greatest rivalry in sports or one of his.
The Lakers versus Celtics.
There's no proximity.
Their rivalry comes when you meet another team that you are matched up well against with something on the line.
If these Lakers and these Clippers were to meet in the Western Conference finals, even if it's in Orlando, let me take minutes.
Gonna turn Los Angeles upside down and I can't wait for it.
I think it's gonna be a great battle, and I think it is the one thing this this rivalry is missing.
This is the one thing that will turn this into a rivalry, and I can't wait to see it.
I hope it happens and right Now we're on track for that, which is super exciting.
So last thing I wanted to leave you with, but not lasting visit.
He wantedto leave with one last thing after this particular thought.
But I want to talk about who wins this seven game series if they were to meet in the Western Conference finals on and really, I want to start to kind of put it, put a little meat behind that and say about how many games, Um, I've been saying from the beginning and Johnny, who has been on broadcast with me, It's kind of echoed this, Tony, I think it has been on the broadcast with me on, you know, in times past, I think is, uh is not necessarily agree.
But I feel and others on the site field that the Clippers air just too good there to stack.
I think in the loss they showed that they could hang with this team.
The Lakers came at them with everything.
A D was amazing.
But he was amazing when he needed to be.
Call Cosmo's actually really good.
He contributed 16 points, so the Lakers did what they do.
The Clippers lost by two points without two of their best players.
That's really telling.
So in a seven game series, I just don't see how the Clippers lose.
But now I'm gonna I'm gonna again a little meat to that skeleton and say, I think that's gonna be a four to Siri's right now.
Um, there's a long way to go.
We don't even know if the two are gonna meet up, But should the to meet the Western Conference finals, I think it's a 42 victory for the Clippers, propelling them to the finals against We'll see.
Um, a long way to go, though.
But right now, it was exciting to watch his to battle, knowing that that's in the future on blusher openess.
So this is the last thing I'm gonna leave you with.
As I was watching this game, um, it was going up and down.
Paul George had a three to tie it, and and then what? Really, really, really impressed me? Um and this is where I wish Tony was with with me because he is a huge LeBron fan.
Um, LeBron just said 35 years old, I'm not take over this game.
Uh, he took a shot.
Uh, yeah, he says he got fouled, but he continued with the play.
Got his rebound.
Um, just a great play.
Um, it's something when that we hadn't really seen from the problem, it was a tough game.
You're starting to heat up, certainly a little bit, but it was a classic LeBron play when it was needed.
And that's what the superstars do.
Um, I must say this even though it's not necessarily true.
I mean, the point was gonna make it.
Anybody can make a shot on their open.
Anybody coming shot to start of the game.
You know, uh, maybe 10 minutes into the second quarter, and obviously not anybody can, but you get my point.
But it takes a superstar to take that last second shot to take the ball when the game is on the line and do something amazing with it.
That's what the Kobe Bryant's did.
They Magic Johnson's did the Larry Bird's did.
That's what LeBron James did in this game was amazing to watch.
But after that bucket, but really impressed me is this guy who is not known for his defense, which is which is retelling, because I think one of the most amazing plays I've seen in the n b A in the last 10 years was LeBron blocking Andre Iguodala.
Leah Emmy, Going up 12 and 13 feet to block a shot was amazing to watch.
He knows how to play defense when his feasibly defense.
And that's what veterans dio right.
They know about when to play hard.
They know when to take some time off.
They know when to conserve that energy.
That's so important.
And they understand there's nothing in the game that LeBron had the scene.
So it comes down to one stop that the Lakers need and LeBron is guarding the Clippers.
Best player, I mean, is it is amazing.
That was an epic moment.
It's kind of like if you watch a game from the eighties and you get to see Larry Bird posting up Magic Johnson, you know, in 10 20 years, this is this is the equivalent of you had Kawai with the ball chance to tie or lead in the bronze.
Gardiner, two of the best players in the game and the locked down, and LeBron just locked him down.
Uh, I don't know.
What happened to Kawai? Heavy.
He looked like he lost his footing.
He started doing the splits, He was stock.
He was in no man's land and LeBron just did what he had to do.
He locked his man and and then Kawai kicks it out to Paul George, the second best player on the team who was having an amazing game.
And LeBron says Cabinet.
Then I'm gonna go out there.
I'm gonna do the same thing to Paul George and he does.
So what I took away from that game is a moral victory.
I put it in quotes for the Clippers.
Great game for the Lakers.
But the wonder for lack of better word of LeBron James.
He never seizes to amaze me.
And if it's a close game, uh, and the Lakers need to stop.
They've got the right man on their team.
The Lakers need a bucket.
They got the right man on their team.
Um, it's amazing to watch.
And I was thrilled.
Toe watch that game.
I was excited to write about it.
We put our our recap, it peach dash basket dot net would left for you all to go on there.
Take a look around and join us.
Our goal is Teoh present.
These, uh, streams are at least two.
Do these streams after every game.
Um, I don't know if we're gonna make it her every one of them, but that's the plan.
And, um, didn't get a chance to do this today.
But moving forward, I wanted definitely talk to you about one of our partners called state games dot com.
Ah, really fun site that had a little bit of success on on this particular game.

It's certainly on our site, but to move before we're gonna talk a lot about statement games dot com and also hoped a partner with them on videos, moving forward.
I learned that I talk and I can't see it.
Didn't feel like too long.
It felt like a good amount of time.

Thank you to all of you that did Lexie poo. Appreciate the tip.
