But canceled, Canceled, canceled If you thought youtubers were the only thing that was going to get cancelled in 2020 Well, guess what? The wrong MLB games canceled to Monday night.
MLB games were postponed because of an outbreak of the Corona virus among the Miami Marlins.
The Marlins home opener against the Baltimore areas is bought, as well as the Philadelphia Phillies home game against the New York Yankees.
Miami just completed a Siris in Philadelphia and seven more players and two coaches with the Marlins tested positive for the Corona virus.
An outbreak has spread throughout their clubhouse and brought the total cases in recent days to at least 13 sources familiar to the situation told ESPN.
Jeff Person and Just and Jesse Rogers and the MLB said the games were postponed while the league hot conducts more testing.
The members of the Marlins traveling party are self quarantining in police while waiting the outcome of those results, the MLB said in a statement.
Major League Baseball has been coordinating with the MLB P A, the Marlins, the Orioles, the Marlins weekend opponent, the Phillies and club medical staffs and will continue to provide updates as appropriate.
The Marlins also released a statement on behalf of CEO Derek Jeter.
The health of our players, the health of our players and staff has has been and will continue to be our primary focus as we navigate through these uncharted waters, he said.
After a successful spring to point up, we have had that we have we have now experience.
We have now experienced challenges.
Once we went on the road and left Miami, postponing tonight's home opener was the correct decision and to ensure we take a collective pause and try to properly go out, grasp the totality of this situation.
Before the Yankees Phillies game was postponed, the axes were informed that the visitors clubhouse have been completely disinfected.
Several times, sources told ESPN, is Miley Rivera.
The Yankees also brought their own clubhouse personnel from New York toe work.
The game are those actions don't appear to have been enough.
On Sunday, four Marlins players tested positive for the Corona virus, including that day starting pitcher Jose Arena, according to sources familiar with the situation leading the team to delay its postgame trip home amid concerns about a possible outbreak.
The Marlins were already going to be without the services of Arena catcher Jorge Alfredo, who was placed on the injured list before their season opener on Friday, infielder Gary Cooper and outfielder Harold Ramirez before the Marlins opening Siris in Philadelphia.
The team played an exhibition game on it in Atlanta on Wednesday.
It is possible that the infections occurred there so that is very, very big.
The Marlins, uh, could possibly have just ruined the MLB.
60 games is we haven't even gotten five games.
No team has gone to five games and already this season is in jeopardy.
What's gonna happen with the NBA's what's gonna happen with the NHL? What's gonna happen with the NFL who honestly knows it is a uncharted situation.
We have no idea what is going to happen, but what I am going to do is I'm going to report on all of this so you can stay up to date moving into our second story.
NFL players who contract the Corona virus through high risk activity away from team facilities can face team discipline and might be at risk of not being paid according to the leaks and protocol.
A memo sent by the NFL PH agents this weekend Ah, copy of which wasn't Aidan was obtained by ESPN outlines several rules going on player on tracks, opt out provision and the contractual consequences of a canceled season.
The memo says that the final language of Friday's agreement between the league and the players will still appear in a side letter that is still being negotiated and that the information distributed this weekend represents a summary of major aspects of the covert amendments.
The basics have been dealt with, and the final section of the memo is devoted to the fact that players will be held responsible for the way they circulate in public while the Corona virus remains present.
Players were told weeks ago on a conference call with the With NFL pH elite leadership that they could face discipline, including fines for conduct detrimental to the team if they are found to have contracted Kogan, 19 through elect reckless activity away from the facility.
This weekend's memory in forces that and says that such activity would could allow a team to challenge the status of a cove in 19 diagnosis as a football injury.
If such a challenge work to succeed, presumably, the team could on the non football injury list, a move that would allow the team the option of not paying him to be clear on the procedure, players are required to test negative twice before they will be allowed entry to the team facility at the starting of at the start of training camp.
Any player who was diagnosed with Kobe 19 after two negative entry test will have his condition diagnosed as a football injury for the NFL and NFLPA agreement, and the team will be will be able to place that player on a covert 19 specific injured reserve list at from what she will be a lob to return after meeting certain criteria.
The memo also states clubs and the NFL can challenge designation as a football related injury.
If if it can prove that the player contracted Cove in 19 they're engaging in high risk conduct, which I will list right now.
This issue doesn't remain open now for the memo.
The NFL defines high risk conduct as attending an indoor nightclub with more than 15 people.
An indoor bar with more than 15 people other than to pick up food and indoor house party with more than 15 people.
An indoor music concert slash entertainment event with more than 15 people, a professional sporting event other than applicable NFL games or events with more than 15 people, an indoor religious service attended by more than 25% of the venue's capacity.
Players are going to have to be careful outside the building Los Angeles Rams tackle Andrew Whitworth said last week on a conference call after disclosing that he and his entire family got got the virus after one of them went to lunch with a friend.
All takes one exposure and it can spread like wildfire.
Other items addressed in this weekend's NFL P a memo are there will be no reduction in 2020 players, salaries or bonuses.
If there's a complete NFL season.
$17 million in 2020 player benefits have been canceled, including the second career savings plan, tuition assistance and playoff bye week pay.
Those benefits will be repaid two players through a new benefit after 2023.
Most of these most of the cancelled benefits that would have been new this year under the C B A son in March, and they will instead begin in 2021 if at least one week of NFL games is played.
Players who were on the team's Week one roster or practice squad will not have their contracts toll and will receive wonderful credited season for the purpose of pension and benefits occurred season and an occurred season toward free agency.
A player who chooses to opt out of the 2020 season must inform his team in writing within seven days of the finalizing the seat of the finalizing of the side letter his contract will told, meaning it will pick up next year where it is now.
As long as he earned a credited season in 2019 or was drafted in 2020 you will get a step it he will get a stipend of $150,000 which will be treated as a salary advance and come out of future years Pay.
A player who chooses to opt out because he is higher in a higher risk medical category will get $350,000 step in.
That is not an advance against future salary.
He will receive a accrued season toward free agency and accredited season towards player benefits and minimum salary.
The memo list 15 conditions that qualify as long as a player has a diagnosis of one of them on his medical records prior to the NFL NFLPA agreement.
The high risk categories are cancer, chronic kidney disease, cope.
It weakened immune system from solid organ transplant, serious heart conditions such as the heart failure corny artery disease or cardio Memphis Mem Fatties Sympathies.
Sickle cell disease Type two.
Diabetes, asthma served ravis Cerebrovascular disease say sisic, fibrosis, hypertension or high blood pressure.
Weakened immune system from blood or bone marrow.
Transplant community Definitely efficiencies HIV use of core court, Costa roids or use of other immune weakening medicines.
Neurological conditions such as dementia, liver, liver disease and pulmonary fibrosis.
A team must offer separate housing to a player who has high risk individuals who has a high risk individual living with him if the player request it if the season is canceled before final training camp.
Cut down Any player who is on the training camp roster and earned a 2019 credited season or has drafted in 2020 will get a $250,000 step in and his NFL player health insurance.
A player who did not earn a 2019 credited season who was undrafted in 2020 will get a $50,000 stipend if the season is canceled before Rhino final Roster cut downs, All contracts told if the season is canceled after a final cut down Ah player, who is on the roster at the time of cancellation will get a step, will get a step end of $300,000 offset by any salary he earned during the season for self insurance.
Practice squad players will get $100,000.
Depends offset by any salary already earned and health insurance.
So that is it for NFL Story, which is very, very complicated.
But, uh, that is it's very, very crazy.
But now let's get into some more wholesome stories.
Kyrie Irving is making sure w n b A players can sit out the season and not stress about a paycheck.
Brooklyn Nets stars committing $1.

Whether a person decided to fight for social justice, play basketball, focus on physical or mental health or simply connect with their families.
This initiative can hopefully support their priorities and decisions, Irving said in the statement.
Players such as Cloud and Atlanta's Renee Montgomery opted against playing for social dust for social reform reasons, though it is unclear how many will qualify for Irving's program.
To be eligible, players must prove provide insight into the cir***stances surrounding their decision and not receive and UH, hold on and not be receiving salary support from any other entity and oft out for medical reasons must be connected to the Corona virus pandemic.

So because I've seen guys posting a video in a nightclub, and it's just like, yo were attempting to play football.
Can't you Can't you see? Like the invite? All right, let me let me put the link in the chat, hold up dry copying that and put it Put it into your browser, or if you stream on your phone guest, uh, but didn't put it into, like, safari or whatever.
All right, so because I've seen guys posting video and I, we're, uh we're covering Jason McCourty voicing a concern for the season amid the Corona virus pandemic because I've seen does coasting video in a nightclub and it's just like, Yeah, we're attempting to play football.
That's not going to be okay.
You see guys working out in one city on Monday, working out in another city on a Tuesday and another city in the next week.
It's just like Dang, if they're working out here, here and here, that means you have to be traveling and you come across however many people, or you see a guy posting pictures and there's hundreds of people, whether it's anywhere.
So for me, it's nerve racking.
McCord E, who is 32 shared on the podcast that it's not in this nature to be negative.
His his remarks came before the news broke that the Miami Marlins home opener against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night has been postponed as Corona virus case cases continue to pop up among the team.
Major League Baseball.
Like the NFL is attempting a complete season outside of a bubble environment.
Those those are the things that for me, make it nervous to say, Are we going to be ableto have an entire season? Because the small things like that go a long way? It only takes one person testing positive.
You come into the building and that thing will spread like wildfire.
McCord, he said.
McCord he entered the NFL is a sick as 1/6 round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2009 he played for the Titans from 09 to 2016 the Cleveland Browns in 2017 and he has since been with the Patriots from 2018 to now.

I can't sit here and make excuses for him.
I'm not going to do that.
It just wasn't his day.
The fastball wasn't coming out.
There was no deception in his pitches, and hitters will tell you that.
Otani, 20 who's 26 3 30 pitches, half of them balls and left with two with two on, not would two on none out in a 40 deficit.
The right hander averaged 93 MPH on the fastball that could reach triple digits that never had the opportunity to throw his trademark splitter.

In order to get back where you have been, you you can question plenty about some of the choices your Yohan assist says Speedos has made, but never his love of baseball.
Many keeping players to defect from the island, have harrowing accounts of crossing the perilous Caribbean waters in rickety homemade wooden vessels known as Ball says are seeing people starved to death or get arrested time and time again for trying to depart their homeland in search of a better life.
Mississippi does is one of them.
He had stories of sneaking around the Vin Vin DIC vindictive Cuban police force being imprisoned and branded a traitor, his eyes still well up when he would when he talks, and not being about not being able to see his family or his young son for years, or when he discusses his dealings with the human trafficking and staring, death staring death in the face No.
One, this is being reported by my grandpa of all people.
But, uh, this article from MSN is right.
If the MLB couldn't get through a week of games, neither can the NFL.
To be honest, we haven't even gotten five games in once again.
I'm just going to see this.
We haven't even gone five games in to the the MLB season for 18 and already we have cancellations.
It didn't take that long.
After just forties of games, the Emily season is already in peril after at least 14 Marlins players and coaches tested positive for cocaine 19 which has already led to the postponement of games as a.
As MLB scrambles to figure out where to go from here, though, one would hope the league had already prepared such a scenario, which they hadn't very, very stupid by the MLB.
The NFL Worlds has gone into a full on panic mode with and with good reason.
If baseball, a non contact sport with smaller rosters and coaching staff, couldn't make this work, football doesn't even stand a chance.
It's hard to I argue against this logic, and here, ladies and gentlemen, is where I go ahead and say, You're going to travel.
Try to play 50 with 52 other players fully suited up, and however many coaches kitchen step, um, logistics people they're all going to be doing, there's going to be like five people at your home base.
The only you're going to be at your home beast for eight times a year, and eight times a year or eight weeks a year, you are going to be traveling around the entire United States, probably contracting Corona virus.
Considering that you are literally if you're running back, you are literally stiff arming.
You are pushing a defensive men out of the way with a with a hand that could probably that probably has Corona on it.
I'm just going to say that, but I mean, it's true, right? We You really can't say that.
It's not true because it's going to happen.
And even if it's a 60 game season, the NFL is 16 games.
It doesn't matter.
You have eight games away.
The MLB has, however many.
It doesn't even matter.
But it I don't get it.
It's it's going.
You have to be in a bubble for this tour.
I mean, the MLB might might.
The MLB might have to stay in a bubble.
They might have to do something.
I know the NFL has, like some fields in Orlando at the ESPN complex that the that the that the NBA is using.
But to be honest, I don't know how football is going to work this year, I don't know how anything is going to work this year, so that that it's very crazy and most of it doesn't even make any sense.
So, uh, that's gonna be it for the news part.
Now we're gonna preview games.
We're going to, uh, review games.
Still says breaking news for the positive test.
You already know about it.

And on Friday, this is all to be determined.

So, without a further of do, let's go ahead and see Monday's games for the MLB.
The Los Angeles Angels will take on the Oakland Athletics today, uh, in Oakland.
It will be, I think, Game four of the Siri's.
Yep, it will be game, for It's a serious finale in the opening, Siri's Between the Angels and the ease Uh, Canning will, uh, will make the start for the Angels more.
Bassett will do the same for Oakland.
Currently currently, uh, currently, I don't really know what to say, but in the last five, Oakland has lost only one of only one of their games.
They have their leading the series 21 and they will play at the Oakland Coliseum.
It, uh, tonight, as I said it is.
The Mets against the Red Sox will have a full preview for you, leader later today, here on SportsCenter.
But ah, yeah, the Orioles and the Marlins.
