all right, and we're back.
A problem there? Um, if you're just joining us.
We were talking about all the precautionary measures being taken side the bubble players being disobedient to such magic set measures.
We discussed what else we talked about, uh, back.
I'm just rocket the general dip.
Kick things off here.
It was announced with last night early this morning that he out 6 to 8 weeks with a fractured some or their broken from either way and not ideal.
Um, for the Lakers, as the resident Lakers Ban, I want you to give your whole ****ysis of the situation what it means for the bunch rotation.
What players gonna need to step up? Yeah, So, I mean, I think it's kind of fun.
And just because Laker fans were complaining all year, that was Caruso should be taking more of Robin Rana minutes or just in general, that Rondo Shin Bi is get getting as many minutes as he got.
And definitely a lot of data supports that I send us down earlier today.
But he has, I think, like the worst plus minus out of all players that played 400 plus minutes this season.
So, you know, certainly there are a lot of problems that we have with Rondo where we weren't necessarily doing our best.
But that being said, you know, the Lakers, while they do a lot of strength, one of the things that they're lacking is, you know, having another primary playmaker besides LeBron James.
And you know, even if Rondo wasn't the best, he certainly did was able to.
And, you know, the Dakota sedated enough, Teoh be able to kind of run the bench unit for a little bit of time.
So not having him along with Avery Bradley is not gonna be there is pretty harmful.
And I think what we expect to see is we'll have KCP kind of be inserted into the starting lineup and then really, just have LeBron play for Rule.
Well, but, you know, it would be nice with KCP being our smallest player and being like 65 there's definitely to be a lot of sauce, that lineup and that, um, I think the interesting thing is how he's going to kind of take those back up playmaking minutes and obviously ouster.
So could be a viable option.
Although you don't really trust him as much in the half court to be able Teoh kind of create offense.
So I think it's gonna be kind of you no longer Rondo's.
You know, playmaking is gonna have to be done by, uh, just like the whole committee.
So I think Crusoe may be ableto taken elevated role.
But I think this will also be really good chance, Ah, value to player like Dion.
Waiters see what he could bring.
And I know Coach Vogel also said that, you know, he kind of expects that in Rondo's absence, they're gonna have players like Who's mud? Davis Really? Step up and see kind of how they can, uh, you know, create offense and there are different ways.
So, yeah, that's what I think right now.
Yeah, I just You mentioned playmaking.
And like, my initial thought when I Celeron was out for an extended period, time was, Oh, grateful Lakers like, you know, every Lakers find no, all year has been like screaming.
We need to play Cruz 2020 25 minutes a game.
He's better all around.
Rondo is operating is terrible.
And, um, you know I'm not a huge advocate for advanced.
That's by any means.
Um, I wouldn't help rest my soul on them by any means.
But you know something that is that bad.
As you said, he's the worst on off rating of any players.
But the mortar Fordham, it's That's got to tell you something alongside the eye test.
That round of the service has not been good and has, you know, high class success in the past.
Absolutely, you know, obviously with Boston.
But also but the pelicans two years ago, he played a vital role on that team.
They made it to the second round.
It kind of It was a first round upset of Was it the Blazers? Yeah.
I was the Blazers.
They for us? Yeah.
Full swept him. Yes.
So, Rondo, you know, historically has been awesome the playoffs, especially defensively, and and is a playmaker.
But, um, no, he's definitely lost the have stuff.
He's been heavily turnover prone, and so I even is Caruso's, you know, not the amount on the same level as a playmaker as Rondo.
He certainly isn't as turnover prone in the hat of Court, which could prove to be beneficial.
I think you're right.
That kind of a playmaking by committee, just on passing around the perimeter and the way the Lakers have all year.
Could you had been? Yes, even in the playoffs.
But then again, you know, with the addition of J.
Smith and Dion, waiters who never see that saw shopping, eating, like, you know, you could have some issues with with the bench unit, especially early on, we're gonna go deeper on their bench.
I'm not as worried later on the playoffs just because I don't see this team that with this Lakers team going past seven deed Um, yeah, so I So I forgot to mention, like another possible option is playing Quinn cook a little bit more.
But I think at this point, uh, he could be an undersized liability for us because he sounds like think at 61 and you know, in addition with that, I think he is better suited kind of being a point guard, but more of like, kind of a catch and shoot player rather than a primary playmaker.
So, yeah, once again, I think that just more evidence unless you throw in like a Dion waiters, and, you know, he ends up being very successful.
It's really gonna have to be by committee that we kind of take over a lot of those Rondo minutes and Rondo Playmaking.
Yes, eyes exports were sent a comment to be look like something from TIC TAC you should on should drop their at.
I need to check this out. Eyes exports.
Um, anyway, so moving on from Rondo, I want to talk about some other shake ups in potential shakeups rosters.
It's not official announcement, but there is an indication that Shake Milton will start a point guard for the Sixers.
One play resumes.
I saw some be reporters.
I don't think anything national yet that he's been starting the point.
All their practices and bead made a comment that he looked really good and they're going to move instruments to the four, which really has hasn't happened with a fully healthy team this year.
Um, Shakman obviously started his fair share games with injuries, especially Post also bake and look awesome.
He had a couple weeks struck.
He was, you know, dropping 20 to 38 game hitting a ton of these contested shots, creating off the bounce.
Um, and I'm I'm a Benson missed an unabashed it. I will say it.
I think Ben Simmons is one of the best defensive players in the MBA.
I think he's one of the best passers, obviously, his jump shots broken.
I'm not gonna claim that.
You know, he's not a liability offensively sometimes, depending on the schematics thrown at him.
But, um, the question is, is back and and Simmons play off ball for 30 35 minutes a night on the playoffs and have them be also playing posts like short corner offense and have enough floor spacing.
And what do your thoughts I get? Yeah, so I think this is a little bit of a cop out answer.
But I think it really depends on how Ben Simmons figures out to play off the ball with Ambien.
Just because I think Ben Simmons is can be fantastic as the roll man in the pick and roll.
And so you know, if you kind of have that spacing and you have another plane maker, Blake Jake Milton, who I think along with Josh Richardson, could be able to run picking ball with pensive in Yeah, I could definitely people.
But what we run into is, you know, kind of the core problem that a lot of people see with 70 sixers, which is, um you know, Simmons is terrific barreling down delayed.
But if Embiid is standing there as well, then you're busy.
You know, you just have a really clog lane, and that can be to a lot of difficult situations.
And on the other hand, if you weren't having be kind of space out, more like, yeah, you might be able to get Senate in the lane.
Then you don't have, You know, the offensive rebound monster that is Roland Venus well, is just kind of his presence in the post, So I think it really is gonna It really depends on how we play together.
But overall, I do kind of like the idea of a Philly deciding to kind of try something Dio and I think it will just really come down Teoh how, like Simmons responds to the playoffs because that honestly could unlock his full skills that yeah, we were talking or discussing before our stream cut out that the addition of Old Debo for the Pacers could really throw a wrench in teams planning and their schematics.
And, you know, this seems to be the strategy the Sixers would be aiming at here.
That starting Shakman woman having been statements play the four is definitely gonna throw a wrench in the way that a lot of teams are preparing for.
The six is, you know, teams have really only seen Shake built like zero, maybe one time starting at point guard.
But I don't know you Sink receives in his game, but she honestly has a couple of He's a piece of pretty unique player and seeing on sevens at the four, both the offensive and defensive matchups there.
I mean, I can't think of before in the n b A.
Besides, you know, Johannes, that can really garb and Simmons off the dribble from the perimeter.
I mean, that's a really difficult task, considering how quick how long the strides are, isn't and you know just how good of a playmate agree is.
So I think it's really gonna be interesting to see you.
What defensive schemes coaches.
They're gonna throw at Ben Simmons at the four, specifically and then how the Sixers they're gonna be able to call debates of spacing.
Uh, I guess you know that.
Yeah, I think also, just like another thing is by having Al Horford, uh, not start.
It will be, You know, the six years will have getting really good minutes out of horror.
For, as you know, he's gonna be the best backup center against any team that they face back to be interesting.
Kind of all the problem they have last year, which was when Embiid wasn't playing.
That the six we were getting killed and what he wants, he was playing terrific.
Um, And then also, I think, like Shakman.
I just looked up in, you know, kind of pretty your small sample size.
Um, over the last two seasons have been shooting 41% which is really good and people to surround war, shooting around some things and be that's what they might need.
Teoh kind of lock their pets actual.
And Horford, who has been admittedly bad this year, for the most part, is another historically great playoff player, and I can see him drawing some just tremendous mismatches early in the playoffs against some backup bags.
Um just I'm trying to think potentially who they're playing.
Um, let me hop on ESPN here, quick and look at no, some match.
If you could sit potentially taking the and drove, um, you know, let's play.
Let's say they play the Celtics.
You'd be going going up against you.
Don't tie some minutes along.
I I really like a Grant Williams like it really is a great defender, granted, but he's a rookie, and I just don't see him.
Um, like Grand Williams or other other backup young centers being ableto handle a very, um, playoff experience. Al Horford.
Especially when he gets that perimeter game, the number shot going.
So another another, ah, runs to throw in the mix of things for the Sixers.
Um, let's see life inside the bubble.
Um, we've seen this Twitter accounts.
I think it's called Bubble Life hit over 60,000 followers in Western 48 hours, which might be a new record.
That's absolutely incredible.
We've seen Hassan Whiteside very Snapchat filters.
We've seen JJ Red**** and Meyers Leonard shotgunning beers.
We've seen, you know, endless incessant shots of food players ordering food, Sean Holmes getting caught ordering food, you know, alot kinds of action, all fishing.
A lot of players decision we send Tobias Harris.
But Boban Drama, what has been your favorite on video moments so far in the bubble? I mean, for me, it's definitely gotta be JJ Red**** Shotgunning beer.
Uh, hardly living is Lord, did you? Because ah, yeah, but yeah, but that was I thought that was great.
And I was kind of a concept that we're getting.
And I think with all these players usedto having Hunter extraordinary live traveling all over the world, it's very interesting to see them, you know, kind of have toe come together pretty much be like at, like, summer camp.
Just kind of be messing around stuff like that.
So you know, so far, it's awesome to see And I think like another cool thing is just, uh I think, you know, in a couple of years from now, we'll get some movement across the n b A.
And maybe some players will say, Well, I got closest So and so in the bubbles, the way that players, you know, get close when they're playing on TV.
Oh, stay together or something like that.
So let's maybe seem to be in tampering are here.
Oh, it's It's a great opportunity for LeBron to just sink his claws into a few players.
And we could start bubble with Oladipo going to Miami and on the bubble with only people going to Los Angeles.
So, you know, anything can happen when guys there together.
And I don't know how much intermingling is actually on taking place again.
We don't have that much information in regards to whether there's team specific quarantining.
I heard rumors that each team kind of has their own wing and that there's still kind of isolating from other players.
But I would guess that's going to be lifted once, Um, all players air tested and you know, there is those two tests that were positive inside the bubble of those players or quarantine.
Once we have, you know, a totally corona free, um, environment.
I think we're gonna see a lot.
We're intermingling, especially once play begins and more great content on video.
Um, So what else we got? We got We talk about Ron and talk about shake Milton.
I looked at my watch.
Yes, Well Oh, it's man.
There is You know, there's a lot to say and I'm pretty a political myself.
But, um, there's been an increasing amount of controversy directed in the n b A as an organization's direction, Um, due to their sitting lack of support for the free Hong Kong movement and just people trying to guys catalyze a democracy and what is a really totalitarian factor state in China? Um, you know, as for I don't know what the exact, um financial figures look like for the MBA in its relationship with China.
But I can I can imagine that they're getting paid, uh, great one sum of money that that war almost warrants them.
Um, and you know, you could you could have, you know, varying opinions on, like, the value of democracy.
But Adam Silver at the end of the day is running a business.
And, um, the MBA is the business.
And I think, um, in terms of your PR, they stay pretty.
You trauma situation.
And I think they would rather have that than, um, have a potential multi $1,000,000,000 deal fall through with China. I don't.
It is a really tough topic.
Teoh dive into in totality, but I guess what your first reactions to, Um, not just the most comments, but the entire China situation as a whole.
I mean, I don't want to get too political, especially on this n b a subject.
But like, I think you said, um, it, I mean really isn't NBA's best interest.
Teoh at the very least, kind of remain.
Um, I don't necessarily silent, but, you know, I there's a lot of business interests and protect in China.
And I think one thing that you saw, like, one thing I feel like coach, you know, really experienced first hand was kind of the whole Daryl Morey situation at the beginning of here.
And there are a lot of reap repercussions about and, you know, I don't I know it was generally is like a very, uh, pretty liberal person.
So I'm sure if he's on the support of idea of democracy, but I think his response waas kind of driven by the fact.
But you know, this senator that necessarily have, like, kind of the n b.
A perspective like what? They went there earlier this year, and I you know, I like to interpret at least that was cut, said F you to the kind of idea of this guy who's just kind of trying to stir up some controversy in the idea when they happen down the road before, Yeah, I'm sitting and up good for the league, *******.
And, you know, I've in terms of, you know, Loach's suspension by ESPN was on a little surprise.
When I heard about it initially, I thought ESPN like not, you know, not stick behind what was obviously and, um, in the comment.
But I I thought that they were gonna stay.
You drawn the situations, make no comment at all, and all by sustaining him, I guess the are making a statement that they're you know, they're almost a zero tolerance policy for this kind of behavior.
Just, you know, I think it just being pretty funny and no harm, you know, no hard on at the end of the day.
Um, but we've already seen the media landscape in the last 48 hours.
It just seems like we're missing the king, and there's no there's a lack of hierarchy shapes, you know, Sham is, I guess, on top of the MBA Twitter hierarchy right now into it, at least in terms of news distribution.
But the Rashawn Homes report today came out from four different blue check marks.
A college, normally, what? Would you just have one? Everyone.
Who else would Retweet.
So, yeah, people are People are trying to work their way in for power inside the bubble.
And reporters, I'm sure looking at this opportunity is a way to gain ground.
Um, but I wanna have board back.
It's I love all of it.
I think it's really fun to happen around.
I think it would be all have him in the elbow for his bombs.
That we're gonna have him and wanted two weeks is what I'm hearing.
So, yeah, rewards, man.
Yeah, it's ah, you see, even like obviously MBA, Twitter loves watch.
But, um, you and see with the players I know like Lou Williams, LeBron James, hyper poplars like that all kind of three there a report with the hash tag free woes.
So, uh, I it's interesting that ESPN decided to do this.
You know, I can certainly understand why, but really a lot of their basketball reporting is driven behind the work of those you know, he definitely you know, stealing him from Yahoo is a very big acquisition for ESPN.
Um, probably won't be too long.
I really want to talk about media coverage and started bubble because I've seen a few journalists tweeting pictures of the room, their meals and various other things.
Do you Have you seen anything about the extent to which the press is gonna have access to players? And just how many media members are actually going allowed inside the bubble is a whole, like, Are we gonna have multiple, um, TV crews, like are what? When are Shaq and Charles and, you know, the inside the MBA proving arrived? You have any information on that? Um, do you remember seeing a couple weeks ago that they said that there be like, You know what? Honestly, I don't want to comment, all right, But, you know, there will be a significant amount of media members, but I know a lot of media members that are gonna be there like someone like Brian Quick horses already, something.
He's not gonna be there.
I know has noted that he will be in and out of the bubble and he'll be one of the few exceptions.
But I think with the multiple layers that the bubble has, you know, you know, even being within the bubble, you don't necessarily have to be like, very closer player.
So you know, Adam Silver could be kind of walking around the building, but not necessarily like changing player's hands or anything like that.
So we kind of see how it how it goes.
Then be a You know, it's definitely in their interest to be able to get a lot of different angles and present kind of a new products.
And I know Adam Silver's also talked about different camera angles and stuff like that, and I'm sure.
But today the way that we enjoyed, you know, watching the last mass together they love toe kind of have a lot of footage to be ableto really some short do***entary or just have extensive coverage of the bubble.
I think one advantage of you know, having no fans courtside is that the camera angles.
They're just gonna be absolutely stunning.
Silver said that there's gonna be camera angles we've never seen before, and they're gonna have like, a complete, you know, perimeter coverage around the cord in which they can get every angle possible.
So I'm excited just to see from the viewer experience what? We're going to get a national TV as a, you know, a television product.
Um, And what was going to say? Um, the, um, broadcast teams.
I believe we're going to be limited in terms of, like, who they can actually bring down.
So I think they're gonna have to make the most of that.
The angles are going to make the most of who they have their.
And, um, I guess we're gonna get more information on boot.
The media coverage once we get close to a lot of this, I guess we're still in the dark.
Um, but I believe every game after the initial aid is given nationally televised.
Is that is that what you're hearing? Um, honestly, im not heard about that.
Um, one thing I did read it that I, however though, is that the magic he planned do televised there scrimmage games.
And I know that includes, like, a game against the Clippers to get them against the Lakers amongst, you know, all the other teams and all 22 figure to be a pretty good team.
So, uh, you know, the scrimmage games won't be, uh, you know, but like, it will probably be on, uh, on mainly pass and just it's so exciting.
Toe finally see a lot of footage coming out.
You don't just need practice clips and stuff like that.
Just gets so excited for, uh, if if if the scrimmage is being televised, we are than nineties away from having actual basketball on our television screens, which is incredibly exciting.
Um, It's been too long, man.
I, you know, kick cannot over there how it sounded.
I am to be watching NBA basketball once again.
You got anything else that we want to cover before we? Well, I got for you.
Um, no, I don't think so.
I mean, really again, it's just so exciting toe kind of See everything, shape up.
And, you know, we hope that players like Westbrook feel very quickly, but I know them via just report.
The players association reported that as of July 7, so a little lesson will be could go only to the 322 players tested positive, which is just like it pretty good sign.
But, you know, they're starting to form the bubble.
And by the time all 322 players, you know, all are clear.
Hopefully, they, uh, keep it that way.
I mean, you'd hate to see some kind of, um, you know, infestation occur inside the bubble or even one team having to go into Corentin mid sea.
Um, if he's positive tests happened continue toe happen, which is relatively unlikely given all the measures they're taking.
I think once they have everyone, um, Corona free, it's like that it's going to stay that way as long as the bubble is kept sealed.
I know you text something about use, um, you know, coming and going.
And I guess that's you've made concern at this point would be three the catering services, you know, in fact, ing players or a player inviting instagram model into the and hit her bring it home.
But I'm optimistic that everything's gonna go smooth and we're gonna have Corona free basketball for the next two months.
That's that's my You know, you could I guess it's could be blind optimism, but I I think that Adam Silver is done Just absolutely excellent job in orchestrating all of this.
And these players are getting tested every single day.
So if one of them gets it, they're gonna they're gonna know about other almost instantaneously and all.
They're gonna take all the protection measures.
Yeah, and I think like them rings that they have are gonna be good because they have a lot of indicators that, you know, not even something like more than just indicators like temperature.
And I think there's a lot of things that they're really Dutilleux tryingto detect anything as like before the would cast positive.
So that's gonna love you.
And I'm, uh, think I'm gonna be caroni free here in a couple days.
I want to go get tested again.
So everyone to wear a mask.
I know I keep saying it, but, uh, you know, there's people out there, they're not. We're passing.
You were an all time high across the country, So, um, stay safe.
Watch your hands.
No, Listen, toe Dr.
I know you know he isn't weird. Phone.
She has been in the media mostly, but yeah, obey your obey your governments.
That's all I got.
