and well, I don't know.
Are we live for now? The longest one second.
I never thing in my life there.
Were you OK? Hey, what's going on? Everybody? My name is Joe New Beau alongside my co host for SportsCastr News.
We got the lawmaker, Laurence Owen.
I think that's his nickname.
We got the ravishing ray rough and that's not how you pronounce last name.
I'm just messing with him.
But anyway, guys, apparently Henry rugs did not like this new rule, which, I mean we could touched on it a little bit.
Yesterday we thought it was a stupid rule, but again, I feel like they're in the beating stages of this, and this is all going to get figured out eventually.
But right now they're just kind of.
But anyway, I know that Ray felt strongly about this, So I want to get his take first on this man.
Let's see what you got to say.
I don't feel strongly about it, but I feel something about it.
First of all, the rule, as we said, it's stupid, stupid.
You can breathe all over each other, tackle each other, bite each other mark each other.
You can do everything you want spit on each other.
But don't you dare shake hands after that game because that's how cold it's going to get spread right.
I think it's a dumb role, Richard Sherman said.
You know, summed it up beautifully.
Um, it's I'm not a fan of the role, But, you know, I got two things on Henry rugs.
He's not happy about it, young man.
It's two things in number one.
Did you guys see Jarvis Landry begging Tom Brady to start being a voice for players issues? Really? On Twitter? I don't see that on the racial issues on the labor talks on all that kind of stuff.
Basically begged him. Pleased.
So Tom Brady, Mr 20 Year Mr Goat Mr.
T B 12 Mr Second Do***entary Coming out, Mr.
You know the end all and be all should be a little bit embarrassed that the rookie is speaking about labour relations and Kobe and player safety right now.
And you continue to sit there with their mouth shut.
Patriots fans, I don't care how mad you are.
Accepted Bucks fans.
Welcome to and watching the NFL, um, being I don't know to me, to me, you know, good for rugs.
But sometimes I look at and go OK, rookie like, sit this one out, you know? I mean, let's let's let the the veteran speak.
You know, um, you have zero idea what it's like to play an NFL game because you've never played the NFL.
The three of us have zero idea how to play in the NFL from what we tell, like a lot.
So we talk about it, but yeah, we pretend that we're expert.
But I think for me, it's that case in point of you know what? Like okay, like there's some big boys talking on this subject.
Richard Sherman and the regular vocal guys.
It's like, You know what, Henry, why don't you just why don't you just learn to be a professional before you start getting involved in labor relations? That's my strong take on it, at least.
Lawrence, how do you feel about this man? Well, after going over so many, I mean, I I have I have basically covered this from beginning to end.
When it comes toe streams here on SportsCastr.
Every time a new rule pops up, I'm there and it's getting ridiculous.
I mean, it is It is absolutely getting ridiculous.
The whole pre camp thing.
And now the training camp, Uh, facility operations rules.
Ah, now you can't.
You can't trade jerseys.
Uh, now it's getting stupid.
Watts like you know what? If you're going to force us to where something that's gonna make our health dangerous on the field, you protect us from something that might be dangerous.
That might be on the field because I no.
Then why even play? And that's kind of basically where this is starting to roll down to.
You already have your ivy leagues in college shutting down sports for the whole.
There won't be Ivy League football there, cement. See double teams.
It's already established.
They're not playing what Big 10 is only playing inter conference games this season.
Un pretty sure what I read? Um, it's not looking good for the NFL.
It's not looking good.
I think your muted right.
So the Pac 12 just announced to Yeah, that they're only going intercom.
Yes, so in the Big 12 said it's too early to call that such a big 12 way of doing things? Yeah, um, a lot of people it It's getting to the point now where I am sure there some way that teams and the NFL could go about this either, too.
Hey, make sure that it's the players are safe while playing this game or B.
Just come to the realization that ain't gonna happen this year and give everyone a heads up because you don't want to get people's hopes up, hopes up, hopes up.
And then two weeks before the season starts, you're like, uh, we're not playing this season.
That would be devastating.
I mean, I feel like that's the direction we're headed.
Unfortunately, boys, um, that's what it's looking like.
You know, the more and more I see of these these rules, it's it just becomes more and more unrealistic.
This is a physical contact sports there.
It's just you can't avoid it.
You cannot avoid contact in this sport.
It's you know you cannot be safe with cove it around.
It's just not possible.
So unless they drastically changed the game of football.
Like I said, I think yesterday it's just not looking good, man and it sucks to say, but I think the more you're going to start seeing more players look like Stefon Diggs was, of course, one of those players that always speaks his mind.
But he also spoke his mind on this occasion and said that this is a joke.
You know? Richard Sherman, like you said, Ray.
So what if you start seeing players like O with these stupid rules? I'm just not gonna play.
I'm gonna sit out the season.
If that's that's what we're gonna do it.
Do you think we'll start seeing that type of stuff? No, about working.
They start seeing guys sitting out for contract reasons like we're already start to see with Chris Jones of the world.
We're gonna start seeing guys.
They're not going to relate it back to the Cove it because if they set out for covert and rules number one to turn around and say wearing a mask is stupid and you know the no handshakes is stupid and I'm not playing because of this.
You have just killed every player safety argument you ever want to make to the NFL.
When you turn around and say I don't want to play 17 games as a player, safety they're going to say, Obviously you don't give to rat's ass is about player safety.
You what? I mean, if you wouldn't even play because of the safety rules we put in the place, right or wrong, Whether they work or not, it's an argument's sake.
But what I can see guys doing is looking at it going.
You know what? I don't want a planet.
These stupid rules.
I want more money.
I'm gonna sit out and I'm gonna ask and I'm in, and I think they're gonna leverage contracts, at least for the beginning of the season.
You might see guys come back in late, but I think there's gonna be a lot of sitting 11.
Do you think that that's my That's gonna be the excuse.
Like they they secretly are not wanting to play because of Cove it.
But they're saying, Oh, it's for my contract reasons, right? They're gonna Yeah, and they're gonna do both and they figure if they got to sit out four or five weeks, maybe Kobe gets a little bit better by the time the contract is ready.
You mean, or you just ask for the most ridiculous money in the world.
You know the team's not going to give it to you.
And you can sit out the year right.
Like Dalvin cook like Dalvin cook cause he's gonna, you know, more than likely set out the year, right? But I think you're going to see more and more guys.
That's why I think we we sort of touched on this the other night.
It's why I think Chris Jones suddenly is is, you know, sitting out.
He was fine with taking reduced money, signing the franchise tag, playing one more year at the Chiefs.
Suddenly, it's Is it really money, Chris, or you leveraging Cove it? Because now is the time you know to do it.
That's at least that's what I think is gonna happen.
Yeah, I could see it.
How about you, Lawrence? How do you feel on that? Oh, excuse me.
Well, I could see some players using covert as a situation and try toe, get their contract up or just used contracts to stay away from the game.
I don't think every player is like that.
Um, I think, like with J.
Watt them asking.
I completely understand I played football.
I know what It's like, Ah, to be out there on that field in, you know, in the Sun Planet thing.
I know what it's like and I know having ah, plastic face guard right in front of your face.
You know, while you're trying to run on 150 miles an hour, you know, for three hours straight how rough that's going to be on you.
And I mean, that's that health risk right there could legitimately hurt you long term.
Um, in that situation, it's better just to sit out and say, That's why I'm sitting out, You know, That way it's beneficial to all players so that you could figure out something else to go about with rather than yeah, rather than just go along with it or say something else like contract reasons.
They need to speak up their mind on exact specific things that they have an issue with, and not just use something else as an excuse to sit out the season.
How would you guys feel if, like, they proposed, just knew, like changing the game of football entirely? Let let's just make this a game of horse or something, something crazy because we cannot have physical contact.
Would you guys watch that? No, I think that you're I wouldn't I'm just being honest with you.
It's like I won't watch a simulated matter game.
You what? I mean, it's not the same to me.
What? I'm at a point where it's either let's play football or let's not play football.
I'll give you guys a prime example.
It's not football related.
What's exactly like this? In two weeks, I'm on vacation with my family and we're supposed to go to this cottage resort.
We go every year, and the debate has been back and forth about whether we should go or not with the whole covert thing numbers.
They're getting better here. Yada, yada, yada.
Last night, I said to my wife, You know, if we're not gonna do this, I don't want to go.
She just does it have to be all or nothing.
And you know what it kind of does, because if it's not all or nothing, we're gonna have miserable kids.
We're gonna have miserable this week.
I'm miserable that I think it's the same in the NFL.
It's all or nothing now.
Yeah, you can leave the fans out or reduce the fans find right.
But when it comes to the on field interactions plays that kind of thing.
I think it needs to be all or nothing, because you're gonna have ****ed off players, which is going to reduce the product.
And, like I already said, if if they scrapped the preseason, if training camp gets pushed, if they jump off on time, we're gonna be watching sloppy football for the least the 1st 4 weeks.
And do we really want to watch the greatest? You know, professional football players in the world playing crappy football like That's not what I'm looking forward to on a Sunday afternoon.
Yeah, I have a hard enough time watching ah, player challenges.
That happened the week before the Pro Bowl, and you're suggesting doing this on a weekly basis? I mean, well, what could we do? Men.
So it's It's like Ray said, all or nothing, right? That's really what he was trying to keep us employed.
Joe's trying to wait to talk about something that way, talk about across or something.
Well, we're always gonna have those players out there that will speak their mind, whether they whether the rest of their team likes it or not.
So there's always going to be some kind of information that spread around.
You're gonna have those levy ins.
They're gonna be out spoken and and your Euro BJ's and stuff like that are always going to say something that's going to spark interest in the media.
So there's always going to be something to talk about.
Granted, it's not the game, which is what we want to talk about.
But at least there's something that we can Yeah, we could.
We could figure it out, I guess.
Well, we can speculate like we do, Um, so I mean, I don't know, to be honest, guys, I don't know where to go from here.
Anything else you guys want to touch on? I know there's nothing to talk about.
Could we be honest? Like there's its really, really boring to talk about football right now.
It's people off season.
This is like the always with the worst time is July Training camp hasn't started yet.
You know, many camps are usually starting at the end of the month.
You know there's gonna be no player movement like it's really just Well, I mean, the only thing there is a talk about is the possibility of no joke.
Right? Um, I'm trying to track down something right now to see if this is just fake or really, but one of my twitter subscribers is pretty reliable.
Took a screenshot of the joke.
Who's Instagram? And he had a Patriots helmet on his instagram that is now since been deleted.
What's interesting? No mainstream media has picked up on this, so I don't wanna start speculating anything until, like, you know, the first thing I do is check the chef tres the You know what I mean, That kind of thing And nobody started yet.
So I don't know if this is just somebody screwing with him.
You what? I mean and he's usually pretty good.
He's one of the Biggers.
It's one of the guys that have, like, $100 followers.
He's usually pretty good at doing things.
Be fair, though, but I talking fair.
I just read something and I totally forgot where I was going.
I'm sorry, man. I interrupted.
You owe Antonio Brown.
He posted himself in a Ravens jersey and that never went anywhere.
So I'm just saying, maybe that could have been what he was doing.
I'll tell you what, though.
He, Antonio Brown, then just posted himself in the Patriots jersey for a day and 1/2.
It is be a powerful Yeah, yeah, that's the only thing I'm trying to chase down right now.
Besides that, like I have not a freaking clue.
I'm looking Well, I was telling Lawrence earlier, Here's the big one came out.
Hurt your head to go.
Seahawks are absolutely pursuing Jamal Adams trade.
Okay, so that you said that That's a pretty big story trying to go get their news.
One counseling, huh? Oh, it's on clutch.
I'll read it to you guys.
There are some murmurs that the Seattle Seahawks could pursue Jamal Adams via trade.
However, those members appear to be getting louder as the off season continues.
According to G keeps of 7 10 ESPN Seattle The Seahawks air absolutely pursuing Adams in a trade quote.
I actually had a conversation with a friend of mine who were works in the front office on the other side of the country for the NFL to different NFL teams and we were talking about it.
He actually said So.
Seahawks air really into Jamal Adams? He said, Yeah, the Seahawks are absolutely pursuing Jamal Adams.
I think the trade conversations air heating up around Jamal Adams and the Seahawks in particular and one of those teams that are continuing to pursue Adams.
He could be their decks.
Kam Chancellor, you know, we've all said that the fit right, that was the fit.
I think we've said that since the beginning, and much as I want on the land, if that happens, the land you can cross a their team off the list for, ah Jadeveon Clowney because they can't afford a dime of him.
I'd like to see.
I mean, I like the Seahawks.
You know, I like Russell Wilson and, ah, I'm a big fan of Jamal Adams.
I would like to see him go to a playoff team like that man.
The way he plays.
You're just happy that it's an NFI team.
Oh, yeah, that, too.
I mean, if he's not going to the Ravens, at least he'll go, you know, to an NFC team.
I'm fine with that.
Um, there was also that Ah, both shack Barrier and Bud Dupri are filing grievances because they want to be tagged as defensive the ends instead of linebackers.
So I don't know if you guys have any thoughts on that. I don't.
What? I don't get about the what I don't get Ah, Shack bear? No, actually, 100% agree.
He played way more edge Russian.
He did linebacker, and you get more money as an edge rusher.
But what I don't understand is how this works.
He accepted the tender today and then filed the grievance.
I thought you had to file a grievance before.
So if he accepted it, does he not now have to be a linebacker? That's where I'm confused on that whole situation.
Yeah, I don't know.
That's a good point.
Yeah, because you would think he would have filed it before signing it or accepting it right? That's usually how they do it.
I mean, Schefter referred to him as bucks pass rusher.
You know what I mean? Like, it's and I know linebackers do, but it's just tricky because the same thing happened.
I remember when Terrell Suggs a while back.
He wanted to be paid as a defensive end instead of a linebacker, and he made a big fuss about it.
Same thing happened with Jude on, but they were able to come.
They they met in the middle where we gave him, I think, like 16 or something instead of I think it would have been 14 for a linebacker in 19 for a defense events.
So we got We just, you know, met in the middle there.
So in the middle, no is.
I know you comes down the money.
That's what it's all about Men.
I thought that this conversation would go further.
I thought, both somebody has it.
Well, I mean, I understand there's a lot of there's more than just money for reasonings for ah, uh, being listed correctly in the position that you are, um, like when you're looking at, ah linebackers from a 432 or 34 Uh, they're listed so weird because, like technically, if you go look at stuff, various Leonard to turn an outside linebacker even though he's a will and a will is not not a pass rush Ching linebacker, right that's that's not his job, but but yet that's what he's listed as.
And because he's listed that way.
Then you know things like Pro Bowl balance and stuff like that.
Everything is completely different.
He has to be lined up against other pass rushers in the NFL on.
And that's stupid because you can't put Darius, Leonard and von Miller and say, Well, they say the same thing that they're not the same thing that both great at their jobs but their jobs aren't similar at all.
But they're both outside linebackers.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's dumb.
They gotta have a better lift sting for 34 linebackers.
A supposed to 43 linebackers.
Good point, Lawrence.
Eso not interested at all.
I'm just kidding.
Arctic vest that not invested.
Um, that's fine.
Well, I mean, it's been 20 minutes.
We just got to go 50 18 minutes.
Okay, so it's a long one.
Well, that's why we don't have to go more than 15.
Or Matt Breed on.
The Dolphins have yet to discuss a contract extension.
Give me a break.
The dynasty Jalen hurts Matt.
What does Jalen hurts? Madden rating I don't know.
71. Okay, 60 68.
Daniel Jones, 53.
Uh, to the guy, Roizen is really low to They got borough it 76 2 had 73.
Jordan Lovat, 71.
Justin Herbert at 70.
And come on with something like 63.
Hertz is better than then.
Ah, Herbert, At the very least, no.
Yeah, but just lift numbers and disposition of that that they was drafted since he was drafted higher there.
Usually rated ranked higher.
Usually, if Tool was drafted in the sixth round, that his rating would probably like a 42.
Doesn't matter what is You know what is actual skills? Because they don't go by actual skills with them.
When they're doing that, they go by a d least with rookies.
They go by where they're drafted.
Did you see what drugs, Speed? Ah, Speed was 98 right? Given almost this fascinating.
Tyreek Hill is 99 Super 15 years.
What's that? Oh, who? So you say living like 15 years? Well, I haven't played.
You're ah Matt in NFL in 15 years, I have a big announcement Voice.
Okay, I have now upgraded from my PlayStation two when Xbox one.
Well, welcome to the new generation, and I'm gonna be honest with you.
I have it because my brother in law gave it to me for free because he's got a body of work.
The problem is what? You should have done this, but the awful mess **** in the trash.
And then I know for no, I downloaded FIFA and I downloaded Madden, cause those are the two games that I play and I'm killing it on amateur mode and FIFA right now.
I had it on the next one up, but I couldn't score a goal, so I had to go back to amateur.
Um, I've got it.
My son's got an Xbox one and PS for, And then I got my PC, But I still haven't played Madden in.
I have a magical e A sports fit me a Madden code like minutes winning one for for free, the game for Madden 21.
And I get me that because I don't have space.
I don't have space on the hard drive to download that sucker.
Why did you get a three.
How did you get it free? They were they posted on Twitter I like two months ago and say, Hey, we're giving away five free Majin codes And now and they said, uh, tag somebody that you would like toe, you know, play with.
And I said, everyone I know that would want one has one except for myself, you know? And unless and then I and then I posted unless somebody unless so, it still has it.
Then they replied, No, I yourself No, um, I got ah, I got a, uh, a d m from e a sports and said, Hey, uh, we see that you're the only one that don't have one.
And they just gave it to me, So I was like, she said, Fix your game.
Tell him to fix something.
I ain't played in 15 years.
I used to play all the time, man, back in the day when Charles Woodson was like the best corner that you could have and stuff like that.
Oh, man, that was such a good good time.
But now all I hear is it's just basically the same game over and over and over Europe a year after year.
So we We opened this stream talking about Henry rugs.
What? What kind of year do we think Henry rugs is gonna have? I'm curious.
Have a disappointing year because he's gonna have a quarterback that's gonna overthrow him with 1000 times.
Oh, I love Derrick Art.
No, we got into this huge debate over Derek Carr.
You are opposing him.
Yeah, I forgot. Yeah.
I think that he's not a Gruden guy.
I don't think he's good.
I think that's why they brought him.
Marry Ona who I don't think is any better.
So don't get me wrong.
I'm not even advocating for Mario.
Tha I think I was advocating for Cam Newton at the time.
I think that was my big thing, that they should cycle new over Derek Carr.
But I'm glad that the collision the nude mates forget that now.
Yeah, actually, I like her.
I think that so you might have got me and rain mixed, okay? Oh, yeah.
It was Lawrence.
He likes Derek Carr.
So what s So what do you see happening with Henry rugs then? Because they have the same.
Now they have a bigger Stevie court.
John Ross pointed.
Yeah, that's how I see it.
He's all speed and nothing else. Wow.
Ah, that that's a little disrespectful.
Is disrespectful is I want on my own person.
Says what he wants, I think Rodgers more than fast.
I like rugs. Hands.
Um, he struggled because he doesn't have a big He doesn't have a big wing wing span, right, But I like his hands.
Um What? I don't want to see the Raiders do it.
Just put him as a stretch receiver the whole season.
I want to see them using them out of the slot.
Short routes, button hooks.
You mean little hitches, um, and let him get YAC yards because he's going to get you huge actors and he can break tackles.
He's fastened strong.
I think what gets lost in rugs have strong is and how hard it is to take down.
Um, we're Tyreek Hill beats you with speed, and if that's why it's hard to tackle him.
If you actually get your hands on rugs, he can He can get himself out of a tackle So it's, um and I'll be hopefully, Gruden doesn't oversimplify.
Hopefully, they don't give him the Phillips or set treatment like he got em the and, ah, the Patriots.
Because that's what will ruin the poor kid.
That's exactly what.
See, I'm thinking it's not just the player.
If a player of any talent can go to a team that knows how to use your talent, then you're going to succeed.
But I just don't see rugs being in a situation that is going to maximize his talents.
Right, Like what you're talking about.
I just see them.
They're going to use him as a thinking.
Oh, well, we got him as a Tyreke because we need that kind of player and I'm sorry.
I like warm, but he's he's not Chelsea on.
That's why Tyreke is Tyreke because you have Chelsea over the stinking middle, all right, so I mean, come on.
I also I also think their cars a little gunshot.
I, you know, like I feel like he's a little afraid to shoot deep men.
I don't know. That's just the vibe I get.
No, I think he is, too, but can I actually switch gears for a second, but some we can actually finish up with.
And we got 55 minutes.
I'm doubling up again. Oh, no.
It says 28 minutes.
Yeah, because right now, in my 56 minutes, like there's no way we've gone 56 minutes.
You look, they're doubling up every time.
I'd like to read to you.
What in an NFL executive said about my guy, Matthew Stafford.
He said it's the Safford syndrome.
He plays in Detroit, so he's not in a position to maximise his ability.
He's a major talent.
Now, here's one. I want to get your opinion on this.
He's a major talent who would probably be a top five quarterback with an established franchise.
He can score from anywhere on the field end.
You put Matt Stafford on Dallas and they're gonna win Super Bowl after Super Bowl.
Someone's at my door.
I'll be right back.
Spirits green just in the stream.
Just think goodbye.
I honestly believe that if you put Matt Stafford, we should bullets leading and he comes back and we're just gone way be losing all these fans will be like I no be So I go ahead.
I think you put my staff on any other place that knew how to build a team that already has a team built and set up.
Then they're going to succeed.
I would have loved to have seen Stafford on the Colts this year.
Would have loved to have seen a trade.
Now that means flat out, we wouldn't have got Butner and, ah, I think I'd rather have Buckner.
No offense to Stafford, but Buckner's kind of one of those players.
I love Stafford.
Oh, but I honestly, I believe that the Lions are taking have just started taking steps in trying to put a team around.
Stafford just started trying to do that, and I think it has everything to do with new ownership.
In 2010 my friends thought I was insane and they laughed at me because we were sitting around one night talking about our different teams.
You know, Bill's Patriots Steelers, and they also, if you could make one move, what would you make it in 2010? Now, in retrospect, three Super Bowls later, Maybe I reconsider But in 2010 I said, If I had my way, we trade Tom Brady from Matthew Stafford and I said now again in 2010 I didn't realize Tom Brady was going to be playing in 2020 you know what I mean? At that point, though, he was like 35 36.
I figured he's got 34 years left and I loved Matthew Stafford.
I was a huge Matthew Stafford fan, and I thought I'd love to see him on the Patriots.
I gladly give up four years of Tom Brady for a career.
Matthew Stafford not realizing that be another 10 years of Tom Brady.
I mean, I don't I don't even know where to start with this man.
So what is what is with this Stafford love and I get it, OK, yes.
Detroit Obviously terrible organization.
Not ideal scenario, but it's not like we haven't seen Matthew Stafford without weapons.
Is Megatron not a good all time receipt like he's a talented his l receiver number one receiver? Okay, What about Marvin Jones? Kenny Golladay? He's had them for a couple years.
And what's happened? I wouldn't say I wouldn't call them all tired and receivers well known at all times, said, That's like saying Chris Hogan and Danny Amendola, you know what I mean.
It's I put that with a A sort of there would be better Marvin Jones and ah Kenny Golladay Airway better than Chris Hogan.
Whoever else you said, I bet either starts are almost identical.
Put up. I bet on it right now.
Well, any M and dollar starts, dear. Go.
Yeah, take Stafford starts.
And so just with playing with one he's had to play with Oh, my goodness.
We need what he has with in 2016.
Who do you have the play with? Tell me.
Well, my comparing him and all the to lions either Golladay or Marvin Jones.
In 2016 he had golden take broke down.
Ah, we all know what Eric Ebron was like in that year.
I'll or offensive line Marvin Jones's comparative ble to Danny Amendola.
Uh, Kenny Golladay is not 2100 So dollar days is actually not a bad receiver.
OK, so I give that, But Marvin Jones and Amendola are comparable.
You hear me? Yeah.
Yeah, I like I like holiday.
Okay, so he's still young, though.
He's just now coming into his own in the NFL.
So and then there go.
They've been going out this past year in getting him in all offensive line.
Uh, was it swift? Victor? Who was it? I think DeAndre.
So this could be an interesting year for the Lions.
I mean, they got They've been adding weapons around Stafford.
I do like to see what happens now.
I'm looking at his offensive line over the like from 2015 and on.
I don't recognize the name like a single name.
That's the only name that I recognize.
You act here and lift.
Only because he used to play on the Ravens. That's why. No.
Yeah, I don't know.
But I mean, mostly all know who Taylor Decker is, right? Yeah.
He's the only name that I know from that from the lions that's been on the lions offensive line in the last, like, 10 years.
I mean, his best tight end has been Eric Cabron, which I thought was gonna make Laurence Pitt coffee owed everywhere.
No, I knew that I knew.
And what's sad is he had tons of drop.
He has dropped issues and they just drafted him.
Hawkins And last year, Yeah, Hakansson had injury issues last season.
Yeah, Hawkinson with Danny Miss most of last year. Hawkins.
I know that was massively disappointed.
Last year was had to have been a massively disappointing year for Detroit because they did, and they put money into free agency as well.
Uh, Hawkinson started.
Yes, he was in 12 started at seven, but I just doesn't matter.
Stafford was out for half of last year anyway, I don't know how many teams would take Stafford over their current quarterback situations.
If you want to go down the list 30 whatever years old, I take Stafford over rivers in a heartbeat.
Well, yeah, I mean, I think everybody would.
Well, it's, you know, a part of me would would would take like, his stats and looking at the stats.
They're better than cams.
So you would scream over Kim 444,340 to 40 to 46 49 5000 like he's been pretty consistent in that rating and in the games that he played last season.
He it was his stats were stupid.
Last year, her in the eight games that he played.
I got these from 5000 yards.
I think it's come any of those to be one.
I think his completion percentage is higher than Brady's overall.
Like for career, he's in the mid sixties almost his entire career.
But it's because of his first his 1st 4 years in the fifties, from 2014 and on ease like 15 2067 65 16 65 and 17 66 in 18 64 19 like his actually, and his numbers are even more impressive than I thought.
Um, I don't like his touchdown to interception ratio like the 24 to 10.
That's probably the piece of not liking the most here.
You'd want to see those interceptions under double digits, right? That's that would be a flag to me.
Um, but like you say, sometimes you got to take interceptions in the context.
If you're tryingto come back from a big deficit in a lot of games that you're playing in because your team around you just sucks that friggin bad and you're trying to push the ball down the field, You're gonna end up with more interceptions than when you could just be playing it safe in killing clock because you have a lead or its close or it's a close game.
I think even if Stafford is healthy this year, the lines aren't winning more than seven games because of their coach.
They don't who wants to play for Matt. Patricia.
We've seen Darius Slay wanted to be traded away because of him.
You think that if you guys want to play underneath Matt Patricia, you can't blame getting Seifert for that? No, I'm not blaming Matthew Stafford, but I'm argued for Matthew Stafford.
Right now, I don't want to be a lion, but you're the one.
They say there's look contenders because I'm not, the Stafford will come up.
Stafford is a good quarterback man, and he's like a beast like I'm not saying he's not that guy.
Through a winning touchdown pass with a separated shoulder three early Helios like his rookie year, it was stupid.
Against Chicago, they were.
They tried to take him out the field.
He refused to leave and he called the no huddle and went right into the and they're trying.
They had no time outs left.
They were trying to get him to come off and taking me.
And he went no, huddle in through the ball for a touchdown And the guys wanna celebrate with the No, it is arms like it's the Don't touch me, I'm in pain.
This Yeah, it was amazing.
I mean, that's where we're really gonna be highlighted.
He's been in the league since 2010.
I mean, I mean, he's been in a long time.
I didn't realize how long has been leased 32.
So that hasn't accomplished anything again.
A 31 alliance haven't accomplished anything.
I mean, how do you go to 2011? How do you throw 5000 yards? 41 touchdown? 16 interceptions was a good ratio, and I think is not the year that they didn't win the game.
No, that was before him.
That was That was the year they drafted him that after they lost 16 games, So is that he ain't no good, because where did the team go.
I'm not saying he's good.
Larry Sanders is possibly the best running back in history.
And what did they accomplish with him on the team? I'm not in a good organization.
He's in a terrible situation.
I don't have that quarterback.
He's a good quarterback.
I'm just saying I don't think many teams would take him over what they got right now, especially because there's not many holes for me.
I think I could name more.
A lot of other teams do it.
Take. I would take him over. Derek Carr.
I would take him over. Gardner Minshew.
Okay, Take them over.
I would take him over. Ben Roethlisberger.
Now we're talking, right? What a surprise.
I thought he was lead.
The Steelers Promise line.
I think he's going to improve the Steelers.
I'm gonna take it.
I would take over Roethlisberger.
I would take him over borough this year.
I wouldn't I wouldn't I wouldn't take him over.
You can't take him over. Baker.
Um, I would take him over.
I would take him over.
Alan, I would take him over. Donald.
Ah, I mean, if we're gonna take Andy Dalton over Doc.
I'd have to take him over. Dak.
I think I take him over Jones.
I probably wouldn't take him over.
Well, you know what? I might take him over.
When's just because you can't trust? Went to stay healthy.
Um, I take him over Haskins.
That's the east.
Um, I wouldn't like I wouldn't I don't think anybody in the ah, in the South I were the North you He's not gonna replace any of those guys, right? Maybe Teddy Bridgewater for Carolina.
Um, just earlier.
What? Last month, we that we had a stream was talking about the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL, and Ray and I, we both put in top 10 in the top 10.
Yeah, Yeah, I had.
And you had him, like, 11.
It's not like you had a way that you top 10 yet you didn't.
You, Adam, way out. Not way off the mark.
I would take him over. Matt Ryan.
You know, maybe not in their primes, But today I would take him over.
Ah, that's probably I mean, obviously I'm not gonna take him over.
Russell will, I might take him over.
Jimmy Garoppolo, I take, um, overturning Garoppolo.
You know, delete San Francisco.
I think I actually have a passing game, and then you can let Mozart walk and not, you know, get, uh, get fine.
Either way, I'd be fine either way.
Um, I definitely want taking over Kyler Murray when taking over Russell, Who's the other one in that division? Oh, I would take him over off.
I would take over Tyrod Taylor.
I forgot. With the Chargers, I take him over Tyrod.
What about Herbert and Herbert? I take him over, both of them.
So there's a lot of teams I put him on over.
I think that he's and he's I'm not prepared to call him elite like elite elite, but I'm prepared to call him very good.
There are no revision.
Yeah, I will take over Rogers Rogers.
No, but I would take him in Chicago in a heartbeat over either one of those player.
And would you take him over? Causes? I was thinking almost anybody over cousins.
I think quarterback in the world.
I would think Joe Flacco over Kirk cousins, right? And I kills me to say that I appreciate you know, Michael, at least well, when you playoff games, you know? Yeah, we'll do that.
Stafford, you can beat more than this.
Ants Safir's got to get to the playoffs more like once.
I think in a lot of Seattle from not mistaken and you can't really say, Well, losing the Seattle's not not that big of, ah, you know, punch in the face here.
And you know what? I think the whole Megatron argument is the same one that I think we're making now about why we think the Texans are a better team because that's all he was really throwing to is to Megatron every time they didn't surround him with.
If you look a adequate talent, but look in New England, look at Baltimore.
It's not like we could look at those receivers, Joe, you know, outside of maybe Randy Moss back in those seven like, it's not like we can look at If I'm a mind Julian Adelman and Chris Hogan and Wes Welker and say those air superstars we would never have No.
Yes, you over collections start receiver, not a number one.
Had you have senior Steve.
Yeah, when he was, like, 38.
I mean, he was going. It was dynamite.
Even even during that? No.
I love Steve Smith, Sr.
Steve Smith is the man I think molded Anquan Boldin was probably the closest we've ever had to number for one receiver.
Yeah, and he could return kicks, but oh, yeah, but they had just collections of receivers.
And that's where success came from.
Detroit had No, But they had, like, they had that I was calling the odd rockets they had Megatron.
You what? I mean, that's what they had.
That was the team.
It was Megatron and their defense sucked.
Their coaching has been awful, I think.
What's his name is a great coordinator.
Um uh, What the hell do you What's that? Yeah, Cold.
Cold? Well, yeah, I think it's a great Cornell school.
He's one of those guys.
A great coordinator.
Not a great head coach.
You what? I mean, like a Josh McDaniels.
Right? Don't be a head coach. Let's not forget.
Let's not forget he was taken number one overall.
Right? You, when you take someone number one overall, you're expecting a franchise changing player.
Stafford has not been that for the Lions and I have invested around them.
Okay, you take Stafford off this team and put an average quarterback on that team and you're going to see the Browns, the same brown steam that we've seen for the last 15 years.
So they'll go from an eight win team to a four win team every single year.
Okay, every I guess.
In that case, he has changed the team.
But come on at least winsome playoff games.
When you take a quarterback number one overall, right, you still got to give them gods the throw to and an offensive line to block form and, you know, halfway decent defense.
Hey, maybe at the end, you know he's coming to the end of his career.
Maybe he'll be like Elway.
He'll just when everything at the here's Here's the thing, though, and this is where, and I'm being very careful with this because I'm on the can bandwagon right now.
I just bought a cam jersey like I'm on the campus.
Did don't forget what 2015 was.
Cam Newton's EVP year, right? I went to the Super Bowl would be lose two games that you're one game that you're one game one game, 1 51 cam through for 3837 yards, 35 touchdowns, 10 interceptions.
Had a quarterback rating in 99.4.
He tacked on an additional 600 yards of Russian right in 2011.
The Lions won 10 games when 10 and six came second Division Stafford through 41 touchdowns.
5000 yards to 16 receptions at a 97.
2 rating was 63.
5% completion percentage that the team could only win 10 friggin games.
I mean, he almost had a fit.
He was nine off of 50.
That's been Stafford's problem.
His whole career is he plays for friggin Detroit stat.
That's that's what he is, Men stat peppered.
Give him a defense.
You're given a defense if you're not constantly playing from behind.
Yeah, I mean, Christ, they have half the Patriots defense now that, you know, was put up some historic numbers.
So if they can pull it off, but not just any other would have paid for all of them.
Everybody you overpaid for Ravens and Patriots defensive players, have you not learned that by now it's true.
All the men always all flat in Patriots offensive lineman, and they usually fall flat.
Joe, Say goodbye, man.
Somehow with tweets to 47 minutes out of that.
So good job bringing up Stafford.
You knew that that would trigger me, so I don't know.
Dude, I was on, like, three days ago.
News. Try to find something to talk about.
Well, just Yeah, we'll find stuff to argue about.
What? Next time we can we can talk about how Joe Flacco er is the elite dragon and everybody should accept that.
But all right, guys, thank you all so much for joining us on.
I have been Joe New Beau alongside my guys, Lawrence and Ray way squeeze down at least 45 minutes.
I don't know how we did it, but it's it's there, so, I mean, we're making it happen somehow, every single day.
Have a great weekend.
You to Lawrence.
Well, you work seven days a week, Joe.
Yeah, I want on the weekenders, Lawrence, all by his lonesome.
Um, I'm not sure that sounds like you're on your lonesome that is like your hot generally on my phone.
I mean, I'll probably pop out.
Hey, anyone want to join me with this? You know, like I mean occasionally, I will say this to anyone.
That hat happens to still be here watching this occasionally.
There will be something news pop up on the weekend out of nowhere.
And I'll be like, to one of you guys want to join me, and they'll be like, give me five minutes like you have to or something like that happens, you know, were very particular.
Yeah, but if you get a side looking like no, go ahead, read my bed.
Say also do notice, though that wouldn't Lawrence goes when we want to do this job.
And I are famous for 10 minutes after he's done a stream going story.
But he just saw that Yeah, Radio silence refrains myself That these long streams is really rough to do by yourself, man.
Yeah, I look at it, I get weekends off.
If it's a good story, I'll jump on.
But, you know, I also got explain to my wife if I am going on on the weekend, see what I mean and let it like it's a too good of a story to pass up. I can't.
Lawrence can do this one on his own. This is gonna be a long conversation.
You know? She's like, All right, well, whatever tried, so all right, fellas, we will see you all on Monday then because, Well, you'll see Lawrence over the next two days.
But we'll see you then.
