10 40 online at 100 mics FM sports guy might bring him around, hanging out with you with somebody a man that's much.
Just the Tuesday arguably were almost 2 July and a few more weeks.
If we hang in there like I said, have the good Lord blesses, we will have the NBA and Major League Baseball back at it despite players opting out.
I'm OK with it is a lot of between the MBA and MLB.
There's a lot of people opting out, dude, and you, really? I mean, in hindsight, it's like, Can you blame him? So I mean, it's it's kind of that time and it's it's it's it's sensitive and guys air opting out for, you know, for for good reason.
You know most of them are opting out for family reasons.
Some guys are opting out, Um, you know, because they have the Corona virus in there like now I'm just gonna get over this and be done, and I'll see you all next year, which I figured was gonna happen anyway.
But we'll talk about that a little bit later on.
But speaking of this crazy pandemic, the NFL pH directs players agents to educate clients on the Corona virus.
So Dan Graziano posted this over on, ESPN says as the schedule started, the NFL training camps get closer.
The NFL P A has instructed player agents to talkto all their clients about risk factors that could make them more susceptible to severe illness as a result of the Corona virus.
In a letter sent agents yesterday, which was obtained by ESPN, the NFL P A wrote The NFL P A is directing you to provide each of your clients with important risk factor information provided by the CDC that appears below by mid July.
You must engage each of your clients in a conversation about the vital importance of carefully reviewing this information with their personal physician.
They should ask their personal doctors any and all questions they have regarding these risk factors in light of their personal medical history, and their job is an NFL player.
They should also discuss any risk factors with their team doctor.
Now, um, the letter provides a link to the CDC page.
Of course, that's actually pretty smart that they did that it discusses quote people of any age with underlying medical conditions.
End quote and also spells out what the conditions are that put an individual at increased risk for severe illness to Kobe.
Now, these things per the letter that include chronic kidney disease.
If you have COPD, um, week, a weakened immune system B m I of 30 or higher.
So if you're a little overweight, you may, um, you know, your basket your that.
What is it? Uh, mass body mass index? Yeah.
Yeah, eso If that's 30 or higher and you have some weight issues, Look, that's probably going to include every offensive and defensive line in the NFL.
I'm serious Heart conditions, says his heart failure.
Coronary artery disease.
Um, sickle cell if you have sicko.
So Ryan Clark, who used to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was a reason why he couldn't play when he used to come out here to Colorado to play the Broncos because of the altitude and the sickle cell messed with with that type two diabetes as well.
So I know that these guys were probably like, Yo, this is a little scary man.
But at the end of the day, what still saying better safe than sorry, right? You know it is.
And I think for everybody is gonna be a little skepticism going back here in a few weeks.
And we talked about players, you know, often it will get into more of that a little bit later to at the same time, which is their choice.
But, I mean, you know, looking back at it.
And everybody is just trying to protect their assets, Their family and things that are out there choose well, not just the coin and the almighty dollar, but they're thinking about the people around them at about the people that they work with. Two.
I mean anything when you run an organization.
When I used to work in my league baseball.
You think about the employees around.
You see, players could be a locker room, You go to the clubhouse and you do things with players with a sometimes that you'll get into discussion of topic of the game and stuff like that, but also to men.
You know, this is like family.
It's all, you know, one here, and we get a topics outside of sports about life and stuff like that to come back up through the tunnel and get back in the the office there and do some things.
You always cared about people and doing the right thing for people.
Since we live in the greatest country in the world and I think, you know, we're very privileged out there to do these.
These are uncertain times and times unlike we've ever seen before.
Hope they will never see again cause 2020 does suck.
I'm not afraid to admit to being the worst year ever, Ryan.
At least my 40 years of life, too.
At the same time, I'm sure your life, too.
But look, this is everybody just dotting I's cross the tees.
The guidelines were there.
Here's what you can expect if you return to play, and as long as everybody's on the same page and we do things the right way, you know where the Mass keep six feet distance, Understand? Sometimes you know, we get toe tear, the competitive sports.
It's highly unlikely people will wear a mask and stuff like that.
But look, you know, I'm also on the flip side of it, too, while doing the best thing and take your precautions is is The fact is, we can't live in fear.
You know, we just found one of our big events got canceled here in late July.
We're going up for the celebrity softball game that games got canceled.
I go for the weekend to do some events up there with it, but it's unfortunate that happened.
It was out of our control and, of course, the organizer's control at the same time. But we can't.
Live in fear because, you know, I understand.
You know, this thing is not something to play around with, but we have to kind of move on.
You see governors going back on their states now, and maybe we did open up a little bit too early or I will say this.
Look, the people going to the beaches in Florida and here in Texas and also to look variety didn't really help the calls either, right for some states to so again against their right to do it.
But I'm not sure people were heeding that advice from from Fancy and other representatives of the CDC.
So look, this sports world is gonna do what's best for it, and I think that being taking care of its players as representatives and everybody who is in the in the front office to because they want they understand they're gonna be some cases when they return.
But they have to minimize these cases and catch him before they haven't outbreak.
The biggest part about all of this and and and I've probably said this ad nauseum, it's gonna be how the NFL, the MBA, MLB, the N H O, even MLS, it's how they move forward and controlling the environment.
Now, I'm not saying everybody needs to play in a bubble because eventually that's gonna have to go away.
It's gonna have to write next season.
They can't play in a bubble for the MBA, so it's It's a matter of now.
They're doing a good job by sending this.
You know, the NFL p a.
Saying Look, agents, you need to make sure that your client to know what's up.
They have to know the risk, you know, risk, worse reward.
You have to figure it out.
That's why a lot of these guys are probably opted out because some of them may have underlying medical issues that they weren't aware of to begin with.
So maybe now, you know, get in there, get a good checkup, find out what's up.
So that you know what you're up against.
You know what it means.
And for me, I mean, I don't know.
I mean, it depends.
You know, Chris and I even talked about this earlier last week.
It was like, You know, when you're 26 years old and you're living the dream, you have a contract.
You're about to play ball, especially if I don't have a family like immediate family.
I'm not married on a girlfriend out of many kids.
I'll be honest with you taking the dice, sticking in my hand, shaking puckers up.
Tell him against the wall.
Let's see what's up.
You know, I mean, you can't like you said You can't live in fear at the same time.
At least the NFLPA is saying, Hey, look, here's a list.
Let's your clients know and let them make their own decision on whether or not they do want to come back at this stage.
But I'm sure that there's also gonna be another letter that says, Well, if they do decide to opt out, here's what happens in regards to your contract.
You know, I'm saying CB with somebody.
Hey, guys, what's going down, brother? A man just talking about how the NFL p a sent out a letter to all the agents of players in the NFL. Let them know.
Hey, look, you know, if you have things like chronic kidney disease if you're a little overweight And to me, that one really stuck out the B M I of 30 or higher.
How many linemen offensively work defensively? All of them.
All of them are over a B m I of 30 dude, you know, I mean, this is some serious stuff, so these guys are really gonna have to take a lot of stuff into consideration before they even decided to say, Okay, I'm gonna play this 2020 NFL season.
You know, the funny thing about B m I For guys like that, it's different than guys like me.
They're 50 right in their young number one.
I mean, these are elite athletes, right? Number two.
I mean, so like the issues I would have if I was that big and that they would have a totally different that being said It is a morbidity factor.
I guess, Um, I don't know what to do.
Like I just like everything's kind of going crazy right now.
They closed down all the bars and everything in Arizona like, and it's just like from people not being smart.
I wanted to talk to Brandon about the Chase Rice concert because they're going nuts on him.
And we're like, Hey, the venue was 10,000 and we only allowed 4000 while those 4000 people were literally standing on top of each other in front of the stage Mary a mass to be found.
I mean, honestly, I would be like I probably would have pieced out at that point, and I'm not living afraid or anything.
But like I'm one of those guys, every situation I go into, I decide whether I want to be there or not.
A lot of time, it's like, Am I gonna be bored at this point? Is, um I going to get cove it in, like maybe die? Well, there's a 1% chance.
Ah, I got chased rice on my ah, my apple music.
I just go listen to that. My car.
Thanks, but I mean, and that's where I'm at with these guys.
I think I don't think these players air afraid.
But I also think you got to kind of take your own health into account.
That being said, it's I'm going to say this.
This probably isn't going to be like a popular thing.
We have players like Juwan James last year in Denver that, um, he was hurt but not injured.
And he collected a lot of money from the Denver Broncos last year and he was cleared time in time and time again play and he wouldn't play.
This is like an easy opportunity for him to be like I'm out.
I don't want to play This year I made so late, we'll see how this all ends up. I do feel bad.
It's come down to this, but a man, if you don't feel comfortable playing, there's a lot of guys that want to play.
They may not be quite as good as you, but you can fill the roster, say that the best thing about this have seen so far and I'm speaking for baseball if in fact, they do resume July 2030.
Chris makes a great point.
If you don't want to play, then stay home.
Do what's best for you and your family.
But I will say this.
You're right, Mike.
There are 23 24 25 year old top prospects in the top 100 list to that are going to get their shot this year.
That's why each team has now submitted a 60 player pool toe kind of pull from by their 30 man roster, plus the taxi squad to at the same time.
So for me, if I'm an Astros fan getting a guy like Alex Sigaty to come in there Jack Mayfield and a couple other two top prospects for sweetly or number one pitching prospect to get out there and these are the guys you're gonna ride or die with for a championship season, I understand the risk with with Koven.
But if they get their shot and somebody goes down like I said with a case, God forbid that and they're traveling with the team and they're one of the top prospects and they get thrown in the fire coming out of the bullpen or a keep in **** at bat, and they do something.
That's the fun things we like to see in sports.
And I think each each sport is gonna take its own kind of entities And go, man, we're gonna focus here.
We're gonna do testing this way we're gonna do testing that way, we're gonna make sure there's not an outbreak of cases even though there's going to be certain cases and trying to keep them in the single digits. Impossible.
But I will say in every sport we're going to see somebody and some top prospect or some key rookie rise to the occasion for the respective organization.
Yeah, it's Look, it's it's ah, it's gonna be a big choice.
It's a big decision for a lot of these guys.
We're going to talk about that more coming up.
But I wanted to kind of take a sidestep since we're in football.
And I saw this yesterday and I couldn't help but kind of chuckle a little bit.
But Johnny Manziel, who we haven't heard from and God knows how long Mr Texas A and M Aggie himself is at a point in his life where he is ready to concede that his football career is according to him in the past, So when he was asked about it, he said, Look, it's in the past, probably is the way I'd characterize it, he said.
I know a lot of people probably want me to come back.
That's kind of where I chuckled at play and given another chance.
But I don't know, as far as being a person and figuring out life as a young adult trying to make it and figure it out.
If I have never been in a better place than I am right now, now you know, he goes on to say things like, You know, I wasn't grown up enough.
I wasn't mature enough.
I didn't take it as seriously as I should have now, past the chuckle.
I went into How dare you? Because this is a guy that took a spot from someone else, it at A and M.
He was awesome to watch.
My wife is a fan from Austin chest family that went to A and M.
She's a huge accufit and I like watching them and I enjoyed watching him, but we all know that it doesn't always go from college to the NFL.
It just doesn't always transfer The talent doesn't always seem to be the same in college.
It was like Tim had flashes of being a really good quarterback in the NFL.
And then it just kind of, you know, took a nosedive.
This dude had two years and couldn't get it rolling.
So for me, it was I was a little angry.
I was kind of like you should have just bowed out after a and M.
Dude, you should have You should have played your entire four, and you should have just about out.
I'm sorry if you were that immature about it.
What made you think that getting a contract from an NFL team was gonna make you mature? It technically made you worse.
This is a guy that came from money, didn't have to worry about money was a flash in the pants kind of player that was going to now have to grab a playbook and flip it and learn it.
He wasn't that kind of guy.
It wasn't gonna work out for him.
I said it 1000 times, but nobody listen to.
What I had to say was that I was just gonna be great.
He's gonna be awesome.
I'm like, Dude, it's not gonna happen.
I don't know if you guys saw that.
That's what I saw.
But here's my question.
Do you think that he was a wasted talent and he should have maybe been done after college? CB It's funny.
I'm glad you brought.
I don't know if I'm going to get these in here.
I'm the hugest Tim Tebow fan.
The man, right? The man, Tim C is funny, cause like, I could equate Johnny Manziel on Tim Tebow this way.
Tim Tebow was his own worst enemy.
He listened to too many people.
He had a chance to go to Jacksonville.
He could have continued his career there as a quarterback, but he decided to go to the Jets, and that was pretty much the beginning of the end.
And he and plus he didn't want to play anything else.
So, yeah, he was his own worst enemy, Johnny Manziel.
He was his own worst enemy because he dude likes to party.
I mean, I mean, it's funny because I don't know if you guys seen that interview with Mike Tyson on the Joe Rogan experience? No, but I saw clips of it.
John, uh, Joe Rogan asked Mike, He goes, Do you box anymore? And this is back before he started boxing again and he said No.
And Joe's like why? And he goes because I need to keep that beast inside of me and because he thought he was a better man now, right? Well, you've seen what Mike Tyson looks like.
Hitting the pads now.
Freakin nuts. Dude, it's scary.
There's no way in heck like I would pick an M m a fight like Justin Gay Chee.
You could punch me first before Mike Tyson can.
Dude, I'm totally out on letting Mike Tyson even hit me anywhere.
But that being said, I don't think he I think you're absolutely right.
It didn't translate to the NFL.
Johnny Manziel was one hit away from just total destruction, right? He he's not as look how rough a time Baker Mayfield's having right now in Cleveland trying to figure it out.
Johnny Manziel does didn't even have that kind of grasp of the offense and things like that.
So I think he was amazing at college.
I think he could have came to the NFL, and if he wanted to be like a backup for, like 10 years, I think he could have done that.
But I just don't think he would have been a top half quarterback for his three.
I just don't think so, Brennan, you know, like you make a great point.
So he's ready to concede a career that never was.
The bottom line is, didn't career ever begin? He never played in the present, and the president was after college for me is that I'm a huge Aggie fan.
Wife went there.
We got a chance to see him playing person to at the same time.
And I will say, one of the best football talents at the collegiate level I ever saw in my lifetime.
He had a chance to cover.
I was working for a station up there in that, his neck of the woods, a curve, a little tidy high school where he was.
He came for money, came from family.
This guy just continued to play football for the passion of it.
But somewhere along the way, after high school, when I covered him and after Texas A and M, the passion just went by the wayside.
So this is one of those things now where, yes, you could have been a tremendous talent.
Chris is absolutely correct.
You would have been a great backup for a a protein to at the same time.
But, man, when you love to, I guess sometimes when the job gets hard and you don't want to go through the grind, that's when we separate the pretenders from the contenders and a contender.
Johnny Manziel was never that guy at the pro level Call a spade a spade.
It is what it is.
We saw right through him, too, because honestly, when your mug is all over TV and ESPN for parties and trips to Vegas and doing these things with all these different clubs and strip clubs and all this other stuff and running limos and just spending a pro pay check whether they're going out there helping organization win a championship, I have a problem with that, too.
At the same time, so again, the career to me never really took off after college, you get the highest when you get all the fame and fortune, and then you try to translate it to the next level.
I don't know what his mindset is.
Now, even saying those words, I'm ready to concede it now.
When it never really, really began after college.
Who do you think you are? You're Ric Flair.
Uh, guy that even at some point tried to get into the CFL.
He actually got signed by the Memphis Express in that horrific alliance of American.
Or it just at look, when he decided to come and try to play again.
I was like, I'm not watching.
I don't care anymore, e I I was so mad at this kid because I felt like he should have enjoyed what he was good at.
And he should have enjoyed being at A and M, And he should with that much money.
And you want to do that much partying.
The problem was, people around him didn't say hey and didn't give him those words of wisdom, which I'm actually kind of shocked that nobody around him was like, you know, maybe this isn't the best thing for you.
You gotta remember to What was it in 2015 when we pulled up 2015 he played nine games, 1500 yards, threw seven touchdowns and five picks.
Like you, said Brandon, the career that never was conceding the fact that you played in the NFL, and now you don't want to play anymore.
What do you know? The funny thing is that you just said it, Mike him and A and M was amazing, and he could have just ended being a legend at A and M, and you can live a lifetime on that.
Another guy that could have done that to kind of a similar situation was Matt Liner did.
He didn't even will really want to play in the NFL.
He could have stayed at USC and played like forever and ever, and he was loving that.
So I think to guys that liked liked it but didn't love it.
You know, almost compared to looking back, a guy like Ryan Leaf to at the same time a guy who had all the talent in the world back in the nineties and understand all that stuff went down about the trade on one of this organization in that organization to at the same time.
But a few tremendous talent man just went by the wayside had all the pieces, the size and strength, the ability, the arm to be a hell of a pro poor back and just ****ed away a career.
And so my thing was, I just you Sometimes like Mike said, you roll the dice organizations that I'll draft picks.
They're gonna turn into gold mine pieces when it comes to it.
But sometimes these pro athletes just can't put all the pieces of the puzzle together, the way the organization wants into in the way they drafted him to do the same to same time.
And I'll tell you this man, being in a locker room, putting together a playbook for a high school football game is one thing.
But, man, what you doing on the collegiate level? In the pro level, you're looking at so many X's and O's and so many different schemes that you play right there.
That is some hard stuff to replace and draw a place on the board, have team meetings, have your guys come in and say, This is your blocking assignment.
Here's what you're supposed to Dok, you're supposed to get this guy on the second level after you take care of the first level here, stop blocking.
I mean, there's so many technical side to be in it to win games.
You gotta be in it to win it.
And that was My problem is he was never a guy in the locker room that wanted to take the time to study the information.
So how are you going to transfer that from the locker rooms on the field? So that's what disappointed me the most in Johnny his pro career.
I want to say this about Ryan.
Leave Brandon good.
The fact that you can be unhappy in San Diego, I just don't get it.
I don't get it like I don't even know how that happens.
He was about to christen a mad come be the garbage man in San Diego.
I'm like I'm in what's Rule is doing and let's do it 75 degrees, 12 months a year.
I'm sitting there, baby.
But he told me before we go to break Ryan Leaf was a bum.
He had so much going on in his personal life, and the dude was a mental frickin disaster.
Mentally, he was not ready to be in the NFL, and that's why it didn't work.
But anyway, like go keep it locked.
Sports guy Mike.
So we're gonna take a quick break pace and bills, and we'll get back at it going way.

Sports guy Mike Brandon Morrow Chris Brain Hanging out with you So you guys are gonna believe this.
Okay, so I'm sitting here going.
Ryan Leafs numbers real quick.
Just, you know, while we were at break right, so I typed him in.
You guys are gonna believe what I found.
So may 23rd of this year, there's a article that says former quarterback Ryan Leaf arrested on domestic battery charge.
You guys hear about this? The new a new one thing.
This is May 23rd.
This is less than a month ago.
So it says he was arrested on the 23rd on a charge of misdemeanor domestic battery.
Legal rest around to Pam Palm Desert, California booked into Larry D.
Smith Correctional Facility and Riverside.
Um, he was released that day.
Uh, next court date of September 25th.
Um, look, this is a guy like I said, I always thought was a bump.
I was thought that he had a crappy attitude.
Hey, just did men.
And there was so much we he's he wasn't mentally stable.
You could see it.
And, you know, when you look at a girl and you're dating this chick and you're just kind of like, Oh, she got to break the eyes.
You want your Brian elite and go, dude, something's wrong with this.
And then when he snapped in the locker room at that frickin reporter, I felt bad for the reporter cause honored.
If you would have done that to me, I probably would have stepped in a little bit $02.
I beat the I don't know if I would have fought, but I would have been like, Come on.
I am five foot nine.
I am a Marine in and I would beat the brakes off Orion Lee.
If he would have tried to come at me like that, I beat the brakes off him.
So this dude obviously has anger issues because you remember, Remember back in the day he was doing like math.
He was doing something, pulls drugs.
He was really ended up in jail for it.
So and, you know, and it was like, you know, I'm in church now.
I'm this youth pastor and all this other weird stuff he was doing and I was like, OK, cool, come for you.
And nothing was, you know, this was literally an expose that they did on him, like six months ago, how he's turned his life around and I was like, OK, great type his name in here to get stats and found out Well, now he's whipping a woman again less than a month ago that second Mike, It's funny, I once you said that I brought it up because I didn't hear about it, either.
And you think one of us three would have heard about it, right? Dude, like I didn't hear about it? Nothing.
Here's the funny thing. It says.
People also searched for Johnny Manziel, Tony Mandarich, 10 Couch and a Keely Smith.
Well, just San Diego.
Yeah, wait, wait a ruined football players.
Now the thing about Ryan leave it says he was hired by ESPN ahead of the 2019 college football season.
Leaf also worked for the Pac 12 network last season, co hosting a show on Sirius X M on the Pac 12 channel.
I'll tell you this, though, I'm I'm a guy that I like people when they're able to dig out and get there **** in a group like right.
I love that, and I just It makes me feel like when you go in your doing domestic violence and stuff like Come on, man, just like, just stop.
I know, you know, in the past, we all have skeletons in the closet. I'll tell you this.
I got to surprising that that story skip past me at the same time.
And then also to I saw some of the ****ysts work he had done for college football, too, and he actually turned out to be a decent ****yst that definitely knows the game from a quarterback perspective.
And at the same time I was Chrisman.
That's just a very what a tremendous downfall that career had.
And like I said, talk about sick into the lowest depths you can as a football player and as a man.
That is just and one too many times.
You know, guy in his life can learn from mistakes and look for solutions on the other side of it.
And not you're do the same mistake over and over again, have the same accident.
But man, there must be like you said, some skeletons in the closet, mentally unstable to at the same time.
To have this happen over and over again, I would have taken the college football gig.
There is an ****yst in the serious ***ism show and just run with it, cause you know, he was still making decent money.
Even when you with the Chargers at the same time, right? Wanted to kind of do Manziel and party a little bit and get involved with drugs and some of the crap.
So, man, just a downfall for guys creates hard to see to a month ago.
I'm sitting here after watching that expose my amen.
Like Chris says, he's getting us **** in a group game.
I look, I'm the first guy to stand on a soapbox for you and give you the applause that you deserve, because, like I said, nobody knows more about second chances.
Then this guy right here, I'm telling you.
And so when I see that on my cool man because the guy was kind of a prick, he was kind of a jerk, You know what I mean? Uh, hey was the epitome mike, I just to make you and Brandon feel better.
Brian Leafs net worth right now.
I'm doing better than Ryan Leaf.
What better than Ryan Leaf? His net worth is $1000.
Right there went out up.
When you have more money in a savings account that your wife doesn't know about, that I Ryan Leaf is worth now.
I had to talk waiting right when I got married.
He goes, Chris, let me tell you something.
I'm going to tell you something.
Don't tell your mama.
You always have toe have X amount of dollars in your wallet.
Yep. And I've taken that to heart.
That being said, we co mingle our money, and she just spends a harbor she wants.
Well, we all goods more than I do in there.
Anyway, I'm a freakin radio in.
All three of us know that you just your money in a pile.
Pay the Bengals? Yeah.
My uncle many, many moons ago said, Look, just make sure you always have a savings account.
Just get your name on it.
Just don't tell me that women weren't told that by their mothers.
I tell my daughters because they were I know that.
George, Honey, I've told my daughter make sure that you set up your own account with just your name on it.
Just saying so close.
You have Dad Yeah, it's my only daughter, so I prove up.
They know the phone number.
I have problems.
Any money? They just called pop other. Whatever.
Oh, yes. On, dude.
I was paying bills for her for, like what, Like, way into her twenties.
Did I know at that point sometimes you're robbing Peter to pay Paul? Yes.
Okay, honey, I telephone Bill will get 30 days working.
Like I guess I could push that light bill off another month, Right? Exactly.
Kind of needs the money, but yeah.
Anyway, so yeah.
So, Ryan, leave Get your **** in a group again, so keep your hands to yourself.
Your frickin nutjob. Anyway.
Speaking of nutjobs, J.
Smith has been mentioned as the most likely replacement for the L A Lakers after Avery Bradley opted out of the resume season and the two sides are expected to come to an agreement some time.
From what I'm hearing today, we'll see what happens.
Smith is expected to finalize the rest of the season contract with the Lakers prior to Tuesday night's deadline for transactions.
Um, look, he hasn't played in a minute.
But is this a good move for the Lakers? Because remember him and LeBron have that, you know, have that Cleveland Cavalier, you know, cohesion thing going on.
Ah, that they had back in the day.
So is this a good move for L.
Brandon? I think it's a great move.
I've never been crazy about the tattoos, but I will say the J.
Smith, the player of the game itself and the fact that you could come off the bench is a role player and just kind of fit on offense there, too.
At the same time, it's gonna issue to see how the Lakers really use salmon scheme.
They're playing to that. Get up down the court.
You're not always get it to LeBron because, you know LeBron is gonna be doubled there, too.
And the bottom line is they're gonna try to play more of a post game with a D.
At the same time, I still think they're gonna win this shortened season championship the Lakers of the favor And I agree with you, Michael while back that you just give him the trophy to at the same time.
But I will say they're looking for role players and guys that opt out now is giving another opening for organizations to go out there and Contact Players Agency really still have a passion to play the game, and some people say they may be washed up when they wanna hang on.
But if you could step in there with a clear head and do the things that coaches asked you to do and be a role player, I think it's a great pick up.
CB you know, watching J.
Smith grow up here in Denver right in front of my eyes.
I mean, he was George Karl's worst nightmare and favorite player all at the same time.
It just depended on the day, and I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of times.
One time he came to Plum Creek to hit golf balls.
He's getting fitted One of the most amazing athletes you'll ever see in your life.
Dude, he's just like an extreme athlete, and we know all n b A players and pretty much gonna This guy is like he's topped here, just amazing player.
And I think this is actually good for the Lakers.
They need something like this.
Yeah, Jr scatter brains like from time to time, but then he'll go out there in two minutes and dropped four threes for you.
Like just and doing.
He's on Lee, 30 four years old, right? I mean, I thought he was way older than that, but yeah, I think, honestly, it's kind of like he's filling the spot.
But I also think this is maybe exactly what they need to push him forward for this.
Could use a spark like this.
This is a guy that averages 37% from the free from the three point spot.
He's a guy that he doesn't have to be a major contributor in L.
He can go in there, replace Avery.
But the thing about it is, it's that communication that him, and I guarantee you that him and LeBron won't it be He'll step on the court and it'll be just like they were back in Cleveland.
There's something about playing with a guy for that long.
You get you his moves, what he's going to do, anticipating when he's going to go to the hoop.
You know, things like that.
That's gonna be huge for L.
Down the road, especially you know, going into the playoffs again, I I'm probably going to say the Lakers will probably win this thing.
You know, there's some ifs that I have.
Smith in that locker room with that Laker team right now, they need that little spark.
And I think Jr is gonna be I'm not a big fan of his cat off the court.
But it was a riot man is freaking crazy.
Dude, this dude is nuts, But on the court, I'll take him every day and twice on Sunday, especially in that type of row.
He's not going to get you a ton of points.
But he's a guy that will be there when you need him in a clutch situation.
And again, I think the relationship that him and LeBron have are going to speak volumes when they get on the court again.
Do you think that the fact because he made one of the biggest brain ****s ever in the N B.
A file, My God had the ball under the basket and dribbled it out? The fact that LeBron has enough faith in him to bring him back in.
Even after something like that, that speaks volumes.
Oh, yeah? Well, at least it's not like Chris Webber calling time out when a no time outs left a will be work for, like about.
I love that Frank Vogel is gonna be a guy that they draw time out to as well.
They know that instant teams are gonna double LeBron and play a different scheme or zone against them and try to flush him out, which is gonna leave Jr Open.
And I guarantee, here's a minute with their relationship they have, And Frank Vogel will drop a play designed specifically for J. R.
Smith and LeBron shoots him over the ball with a double 80 down the post.
You get it out to him, this guy wide open like you said, like 37 38% from the three point line.
He won't hesitate to shoot with the policies, saying, I'm you go out there and get four or five key three pointers and clutch time in that fourth quarter could pull the Lakers to victory, so that could be another thing to where Frank Vogel says they were gonna design someplace specifically for you in a time out situation, especially those 22nd time out to get back on the court.
And I guarantee you jr is gonna be a guy teams don't think to defend, but leave open to hit some key shots.
Me tell you something about, um, about this man by J.
Hey, Skirt you three quick daggers and even ill advised three.
Lot of ill advised one.
He is the king of ill advised three pointers, people.
37% of those go in, man. You go.
You never think the Lakers get a little boring for you? Kind of down the stretch.
They did. I needed it.
You know what I needed at the Lakers? I needed more out of Dwight Howard.
I needed him to either cover that hair.
Give me the old Juwan Howard.
Give her Juwan Howard from the Orlando Magic.
That's the Oh, yes, please.
Yeah, that's that's the cat that I'm trying to see again.
And I thought, Now, don't get me wrong.
Going to the Lakers and having LeBron James has been a huge um, Uptick four Dwight Howard for his game.
The way he plays, his attitude has completely changed and he now goes out any place ball.
Other than the fact that it came out with Kyrie and said, I agree we should start another league Now Shut up and go Threat braids or dreads or something.
So nice Cubes league that's already going in.
Players don't play big three.
If you know I love Big Three.
By the way, I do too.
I just wish that we'd get it here in Colorado.
Get a little annoyed by us not getting.
And you own a team like is their owners.
I don't know, man.
I don't know how it works. Call Cube.
Hey, dude, I think we could put a team together.
Holla! Speaking to the MBA And speaking of big guys, DeAndre Jordan, unfortunately, has tested positive for Kobe in 19.
Now, when I saw this first thing that popped in my head was okay, was just gonna be out for a couple weeks and he'll be good to go.
Well, the Nets star just revealed that he has Corona virus and says he will not be in the Orlando bubble next month.
for the restart of the season.
Now, he said, found out last night confirmed again today that I've tested positive for Kobe while being back in market.
He also continued by saying things like as a result of this, I will not be in Orlando for the resumption of the season.
Now it's It doesn't say in here why, So I am going to take it as toe like if I was his age.
He's 31 is not old, but he's 31.
Maybe he's just like, you know what? I caught it.
I'm good. I'm out.
I'll see you next year, you know, got really you know, you could do this without me is probably what he's thinking or he's thinking they're not going win.
So I'm just going to stay at the house.
If you were 31 years old and you Kalkhoven and you still had some time to get over this thing and still get into the league and play, would you? Chris, if I play for the Nets? No, cause I'm playing for next year.
Katie's coming back.
I could give a **** about this year and I think that's really what it's all about right? Like, am I wrong? Nothing.
That Zachariah, You're like Irene's lukewarm like, Okay, I made Spencer Dinwiddie. Former.
See you guy? Yeah, I would be playing, but, you know, Yeah, I think it's all about Cady in Brooklyn right now.
And they really I was.
I think they wish this would just all end for 2020 right? And let's move into the next one.
I think when you look at it just well again, I got to read the right frame of mind.
If you're not the right frame of mind to play your respective sport, then don't report to camp, don't report like it said 70.
The actual thing is gonna sit there and do damage to the players.
And like I said, your teammates.
And look, if you feel like you've got it, you still have a prime career.
Your only 31 2 at the same time to lead with Chris.
This is a K D team.
That's what he's signing to the multiyear deal he got last summer.
With the Tornado CEO.
Look, the new season's gonna begin in December, get healthy.
So it's effective this year at the same time to like I said when this current one ends in October.
So, like, this is a guy that again you got to be in the right frame of mind to step on the court.
If you're not there with your teammates, knowing the Nets are gonna go anywhere, it's a washed up team right now.
Kyrie is not in the right frame of mind.
Would be around teammates or, much less his head coats.
And let's have a lot of money to spend coming up this offseason to is where they're going to get back. Tank clear.
Free agent They signed last year.
So I'm with with the Andrea's.
Much is exciting to see him on the court.
It's gonna be a little bit tough to seem off to the same time, but you're not in those top of upper echelon teams of the Eastern and Western Conference site.
Sit it out, get well.
Speedy recovery will see you next year.
I played guard my entire career, except for when I was in like seventh and eighth graders.
I was taller than everybody.
If you can believe that, Uh, and in high school, everybody shut up ahead of me, So I am a guard, but I am a huge fan of big men, and I love watching DeAndre Jordan play.
I think when in his game keep in mind something Chris said Spencer Dinwiddie.
He's another one that said, Hey, I got it, but he's going to try to rejoin the team and that's fine.
But you got Kyrie who, along with Fred Van, let openly said that they're not going to hope again this year.
Those two were out.
He came back from it, but he's probably I mean, you know what I mean.
It's like I don't blame DeAndre, whether that's the reason he's not coming back or not.
Look, you're in seventh place, man.
DeAndre was averaging.
It's 10 points a game.
You kind of throw your hands up.
All right, man, in my college child, next year is a you know what I mean? It's It's I don't think that they're gonna be ableto get anything out of the Eastern Conference anyway.
Um, being in that seventh place having you know, a skeleton of a team, no superstars involved, I would have choked it up to I would I would I would have pieced out I would not have played so All right, child, people are going to take one last break.
Come back. Close up the show.

Welcome back to the sports guy Mike Show right here on K.
C p. R. 98 5 a.m.
10 40 online at 100 mics FM dot com.
Sports guy Mike Brady Morale Chris Brayden Hanging out with you on a Tuesday last day, June can't believe it's freakin well.
The good thing is, that means it's this nasty year of 2020 is halfway over.
So you're sucks because this one is going to be alive.
To it is that's the one thing it's like.
We can sit here and complain all we want, But you know what? What my uncle, you say every day above ground is a good day.
But let's just stay there, all right? Uh, something close toe home for Chris and I, Ian Desmond will opt out of playing this season for the Colorado Rockies.
He announced this on Monday.
The Kobe 19 pandemic has made this baseball season one.
That is a risk I am not comfortable taking is what he wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram that touched on race and opportunities for youth baseball players.
I'm not going to get into, you know all that, But he is not gonna plays opting out.
Chris, Is it gonna hurt the team? I think he opted out the day signed.
Let's be honest.
I mean, like it's been it's been it's been nothing.
I mean, the Rockies had high expectations in high hopes for him, and he's never really delivered.
So, like, really, if you're the Rockies, you're like of that sucks.
But guess what? Whatever.
I mean, it doesn't matter.
Yeah, I look, he didn't I don't think that he waas lived up to what? I guess people thought that he was gonna be coming over here.
So unfortunately for him, um, he's missing out, man, you know, I hate the fact that he's stepping away from, but Chris makes a really good point.
It kind of seemed like it was Denali when he got here.
So we all thought he was going to be the new Michael.
Could I remember one cutting him in here? Not dude, I loved him.
And then he got another big contract.
I think it was with the Mets.
But, like, why couldn't Ian Desmond do that? Man used this as you're stepping.
So go, go hit 3 50 and hit 30 home runs.
Like just go play Coors Field.
If you're halfway decent, you're gonna have those numbers.
Anyway, we signed you to a big, big deal.
It just didn't work out.
You find by me, I really care less.
You'll be able to hit the long ball out there. All right.
Something I know.
Brandon is excited about the 2020 MLB season is right around the corner with players beginning to report for training camp this week, and they're going to release the schedule next week, so yeah.
Yeah, just ready for you know, like I said to get our minds off something else.
That look, I text you that quote last night, Adam Silver kind of said it best.
We know we're going into this thing with a risk and trying to get this thing back.
Okay? But, you know, people are now turning to sports to kind of help in the healing process at the same time, to have something to look forward to beside covert news, which we're all tired of hearing to at the same time.
And look, I'm with you on the situation.
Look, the Rockies don't need Desmon.
Look, if you're gonna do that, opt out.
I wish I could opt out of my job.
And like making $15 million for a year, you're gonna lose a little bit of pro rated money.
You're still gonna make 7.
5 or sitting out and you're gonna lose accruing salary and service time when it comes down to it.
But look, you're in your thirties.
You have that one big year in Texas, too.
At the same time, you're gonna get a big multiyear deal.
He's let Colorado down so many times.
It's not even funny when it comes down to it.
They brought in their own that multiyear deal, and I don't think the Rockets gonna miss him one bit.
But yes, players reporting tomorrow spring training begins.
Their respective home city is very excited.
The players that want to play, let's go play, man, the ones that don't go and sit out loose little salary service time.
Maybe a few minor leaguers Step up and get on the 60 man player pulling and make the 30 day travel squad to.
We'll see if some minor league players for respective organizations to make a name for himself.
So let me ask you guys this.
So they say that they already know the first game that fans will see will be three Yankees against the Nets.
So it'll be Jericho.
Oh, with us not having sports were as long as we have.
Are you guys gonna be more inclined to watch games that you probably would have never watched before? Yeah, absolutely.
In fact, I've been watching soccer NASCAR Like, I think there's been freaking ******** tournaments.
Yeah, Well, dude, come on, man. That don't get crazy.
I don't like pulling.
Dude, I watch 30 minutes of bowling on Father's Day and everybody was suddenly hungry.
I watched this big break thing on frequently Anil from love Break.
So, yes, I will be watching it.
And it's funny because, uh, my daughter's fiance, he played baseball in college.
Huge baseball fan.
We could we actually connect over that? We're gonna have first day, we're gonna have ball part grilling out.
We're gonna happen, Jack, and try to make those lemonade slushies all that.
We're going to do all that.
Yeah, man, I'm gonna absolutely 100% watch everything I can.
Dude, I've been watching Korean baseball, which is great, by the way.
So like any over, I'm over kpodo.
So I'm over Bundesliga team sucks.
Dude, man, if you're like me and you're tired of watching HBO for kids, you're trying to watch it.
Like I said, all the different Sesame Street episodes and also the different game of Thrones and the things that you've already seen. The Tiger King.
You're going to tune in because that's a hell of a pitching match of Garrett Cole.
Max serves air coming out of the gate to and I'm with Chris, man.
I'm going back there, cracked the propane on, get a bunch of me, throw it on the grill, Sweet corn, something like that.
Crack open a and I'm putting that on every two house.
But I got three of them, so I'm gonna That's gonna be helpful pitching matchup.
Even without Ryan Zimmerman affecting the Nationals lineup to the same time, he also opted out she was one of the guys.
But I will say that's gonna be a great, great matchup, Mike.
Did they say, If that's in Washington at Yankee Stadium, I think I don't know.
It doesn't say it.
Does it have to be Washington? Right you're from thinking becomes you very so thinking it's gonna be because it said the Yankees playing the Nash Nationals article.
So that tells me, Yankees going to Washington now you just made a comment.
So you're NC Dino's are 32 15.
My Doosan Bears are 28 20 in third place, So don't be hating.
And And you had the Samsung guys, right? I do have Samsung.
Yeah, you're 25 24 year in six place, six place.
So we're always kind of in high water.
We're doing alright.
November the rock.
Right? And I was just going to say none of them are as bad is Colorado.
So there you go, Right. We're all right.
So on this day in sports history, on June 30th Cincinnati Reds moved to their new home at River Front Stadium.
Willie McCovey, in 1970 hit his 5/100 home run.
So let me ask you guys something.
If there is a baseball stadium that you could go to quickly that you haven't been to that you want to go to where would you go, Chris A T and T, No question.
Really? San Francisco.
Okay, man, I've been to it, but I haven't been in it.
I walked around it, Do it and it's cold.
Dude, it's It's amazing, dude.
And I want to see the Dodgers beat the Giants there.
Oh, yeah, Brandon, I think for Masons, my buddies from Canada, we've talked about going to the Rogers Centre and seeing the Jays.
Plus, I want to see Niagara Falls.
I've never seen it up there on the Canada side.
Oh, no, just because I know it's turf and that kind of thing, it's open.
It's got the beautiful, beautiful, just background behind it, too, at the same time that the Needles there, too.
And I love the fact that is just a beautiful city and surrounding.
So I'd love to see Niagara Falls and watch the Jays play the Astros and over the Astros, maybe Verlander, another no hitter in Toronto like last year.
I can send Brandon with the barrel up there tonight before sports kind of Mike show on it over the falls in a barrel.
But, you know, but I can't do that.
I'm not doing Canada.
Canada Baseball have never.
I just Hockey is is one thing.
Face bomb, like get your own.
You know, I've always felt like that.
Don't know why it's it's It's a thing that has been with me since I was Ah, a wee lad.
So, you know, for made her No.
Yeah, Yeah, I kinda am.
I got to say this, Chris, You brought up Mike Tyson earlier.
How old do you think my kiss? Is he, like, 50 things older to me. 54.
His birthday is today.
And he is 54 years old. No.
Okay, cool. Right on the head.
He looks like he could knock the sweat off of an entire up.
Would you like him to see fight one of these top ranked heavyweights now? Just absolutely.
If he'd win, he would hurt them.
Two of the birthdays are excusing one other birthday.
David Alan Grier, the very funny comedian from in living Color turned 64 years old boy.
Yeah, I I used to love that show.
All right, Brandon, anything? You want to stay the night before we get out of here? Just a couple more great service today.
The legendary Oak Ridge Boys have got Richard Sturbin has made a huge impact on music.
He's coming on this morning to at the same time looking forward to that catching up with him.
Another artist brand a blanket ship is doing some pick things out there in country music, too, And so they just keep moving on.
Mike always appreciate you have any part of the show? Absolutely.
Just thanks for having me on and just go out and be awesome today.
Go out and be awesome.
Today is world social.
Media Day, huh? Every day.
That's what I was.
There was a All right.
All right, so thanks so much for hanging out with this, making this party today.
We appreciate it.
And as I say around their old time, don't sweat small stuff right here.
