just because the guy's players, not a household name, doesn't mean we can't make it household.
Just because the guy's players, not a household name, doesn't mean we can't make it household.
Hello, I'm Lord, so one.
And this is SportsCastr News.
So something interesting just happened, but we're not going to get to that quite yet.
Josh Allen says he expects toe fond digs that addition to actually give John Brown and Cole Beasley Mawr catches this upcoming season.
The Bills obviously acquired Digs by trading off a whole bunch of picks to the Vikings this offseason and prompting a lot of people to believe that John Brown co oblique Beasley will see fewer targets in 2020.
But Josh Allen don't believe that.
He thinks that Digs will actually give Mawr opportunities to Brown and Beasley.
I was going to give them an opportunity to have more catches to catch the ball.
They've had career years, and everybody talking about the addition of digs will hurt their value.
I think it's the other way around.
John had 1000 yards last year.
He's tough to cover coal on the other side.
If you put a nickel on him.
He's going to be tough to cover in man to man as well.
So last year, Brown have said, Me, too, catches 1060 yards, six touchdowns his first season with the Bills, and Beasley had 67 catches for 778 yards and six touchdowns in his debut season with Buffalo.
Now there's not much of a question about digs being Josh Allen's number one target.
I mean, he was a Pro Bowler, and it could legitimately open up the rest of the offense.
Making it tougher for defense is to actually focus on the run, which they have a very good run game going as well.
But I don't think, and this is the truth of the matter.
I don't think that I agree with Josh Allen's assessment, but Brandon being he says, I appreciate I'm sorry.
Alan says that I appreciate what Brandon being has been doing to put guys around me, and now it's up to us to go out on the field, execute the plan.
Now let's look at the stats.
Allen had a pretty decent year.
He had 3000 yards passing in 16 games.
You know, a little low for starting quarterback and 85 quarterback.
Nine picks, 20 touchdowns, sack 38 times on 461 throws.
He was still under 60% completion percentage.
It's not exactly great, right? Devin Singletary? On the other hand, Holy Crap averaged over five yards a carry on 151 attempts and plus they at Frank Gore.
But they don't have them this year.
But Frank Gore was a big help last year because he was getting the tough yards, kind of softening up the middle of the defense a little bit, which helped Devin Singletary out dramatically.
I'm checking something out real quick because I thought the Bills went out and got a won't No, no.
I thought the Bills went out and got a new running back.
Let me go check that out real quick.
No, they still have yelled in and moss behind Singletary.
That's not I mean, yelled in if his legs can hold up because we all know that he has issues with his legs, has had issues with his legs for a long, long time.
Now, my biggest thing is, I think the addition of Stefon Diggs will hurt John Brown's overall performance next year.
But I think it will open up cold.
Beazley's performance next year when you got two guys like John Brown, Devin Single or John Brown and Stefon Diggs that can go deep.
That's going to open up the middle of the field so much, especially when you got Devin Singletary, who could run the ball real well.
That means Linebacker's gonna be close to the line of scrimmage, and the safeties are going to be further back to protect the deep ball with me.
It's all those crossing patterns from the slot position.
There's gonna be a lot of open space in the middle of that field.
If Josh Allen keeps his head on a swivel and is able to actually look around on the field, you know, go through his progressions efficiently and quickly.
I think the biggest proponent of havoc, Stefon Diggs, is Cole Beasley.
He's going to get even Mawr targets than he had last year, which could be huge for him.
There's often times where your slot receiver is your most targeted receiver on the field, especially when you have two good outside speed guys, and the Bills have that.
Josh took his step last year.
He needs a medium better step.
He needs to get that accuracy up.
He's got to make better decisions.
If he's able to do that, that's going to be a benefit to.
Buffalo already said coming into this that Buffalo was the favorite in this division.
Even though the New England Patriots went out and got someone to keep them in the running in the A F C East, they're still a playoff contender now.
In my opinion, they were not a playoff continue before today.
Now I believe they absolutely are because they went out and signed to a one year deal.
I've been waiting on this for months myself.
My guys Joe knew Bo Rei route.
We've talked about this multiple times.
I have said on multiple occasions that I thought that Cam Newton should go to the New England Patriots and that that offensive coordinator there would have a ball with a quarterback like that.
Guthy has had a quarterback like at work with since he's been there.
I want to thank eyes exports and, uh, Mom Mamba Number 24 Aaron 24.
Thank you for the follow SG Sports talk.
Think also from being here.
I understand as it you want to talk about Newton.
But this was what I was assigned.
So I had to talk about Digs and Alan.
Okay, Can't help that.
But I am now with Newton, and I think Cam Newton will be fantastic there.
People want down Cam Newton.
I've been saying this whole time that Cameron Newton is still a Pro Bowl quarterback in the NFL.
That the last couple years has just been really, really bad luck with injuries that he has had just terrible situations.
The end of the 2018 season.
He had the shoulder injury and then he had the foot injury at the beginning of preseason in the preseason game, actually, just New England that put him on IR last year.
Now he's going to be 100% healthy coming into New England.
He's gonna provide something that the Patriots have had in a long time.
Cam Newton Still accurate.
Cam Newton still had a cannon.
The only question is, does he still have the mobility usedto have? Right? Let's check that out because everyone wants talk about it now.
Like I said, you go back to the 2017 or 2018 season.
When he was last healthy until 14 games right when he busted his shoulder, the man had a 68% completion percentage.
He had 3400 yards and 24 touchdowns.
1 touchdown percentage.
Pretty darn followed.
The only time he ever beat.
That is when he went all pro and 2015.
I don't see how you could have an issue with it.
You have a pretty good Q b r.
He only suffered 29 sacks that year because he was able to move around in the pocket, which, by the way, was the lowest sack total he has ever had.
It was the lowest sack percentage he ever had in 2018 only 5.
8 fact percentage.
That's incredibly low.
You put him on New England, who wants to run the football and who can, uh, extend the play and not have to just go down or throw the ball away when when ah, pass rush gets to him like a certain Tom Brady had to all the time.
Or did you just take off running with this thinking ball camp is going to bring New England.
People are like, Is he gonna be able to win the starting job? No.
He's not going to win the starting job.
He has the starting job, this whole crap, But then signing him and letting him fight with.
No. If he's healthy, it's his.
He has to be healthy.
He took a low deal to be with New England.
Right incentive hit, incented Laden deal with New England was like seven a half $1,000,000 for one year.
In my opinion, he took a Jamis Winston type deal.
New England was ableto because they didn't have much cap space to sign Newton's.
We took that incentive laden deal as approve it.
Hey, watch what I could do for you.
Cam Newton is gonna go off.
The only issue New England had was I honestly think that Tom Brady just could not run this offense for New England.
He'd been running it for so long, but he's gotten older.
His legs couldn't handle his body, couldn't handle it.
His arm was, ah, lot less than what it used to be.
Couldn't throw with zip that he used to.
Cam could do all that stuff, plus more.
Now it's cams ability to read a defense like Tom Brady's.
No, no, Obviously not had begun to think that, but he's got the ability to get out of trouble.
He's got the athleticism to get out of trouble, and that is something that's going to be incredibly impressive.
That's why I'm worried.
I have the Bills winning.
I believe it was 11 and five.
I thought I think I had the bill's going 11 and five this season.
I had New England, I think, win in six games or seven.
I think it was seven Miami another 67 win team and I got the Jets being at the bottom of the barrel of not only the A F C East, but the A F C and the NFL.
I think that they're going to be one that they're going to be picking in the top five in the draft this upcoming season.
Now, with New England having Cam Newton now, it's going to make things a little more interesting.
for Buffalo because now New England is going to be more effective.
It's gonna make things a lot tougher on Buffalo.
That defense is very potent, but Cam is very potent as well.
I think New England with Cam Newton is more of a nine, the 10 win team in a playoff contender, as opposed to a six or seven win team and out of the playoffs now.
Obviously, I don't know much about Stadium, but no one does.
Even the closest fans for New England don't know that much about Jared did.
Um, But what will happen is Cam Newton most likely is going to start the season if he's healthy, and if he plays well, like I expect him to because, like I said, it's a proven deal and Kim's gonna play his butt off, and if he plays well, sit him, could sit back and watch.
If he doesn't play well, that spending will come in because it's a win win for New England.
Not like they're paying much money form.
Like I said, it's an incentive laden deal.
If he doesn't do well, we'll just set him down on the bench where they could drop him I don't expect that to happen now.
Is this gonna hurt Buffalo overall? Maybe they might lose 11 left game.
Now they might lose one more game on the season.
I think they'll probably lose in New England.
I got a feeling they will.
They could lose a home against Cam Newton.
Who knows? I'm telling you, New England is a completely different beast.
They still got that great defense.
They're looking toe focus on the run game, and now they got a quarterback that can extend plays that Tom Brady wasn't able to do.
There's gonna be a whole lot less throwaways.
There's gonna be a whole lot less sacks.
There's gonna be a whole lot less, uh, early passes because that's what Tom Brady would love to do.
He looked through it a little early because, you know, he's afraid of getting hit.
I've been wanting to see this since the beginning of the season.
I thought Cam Newton deserved to be on New England.
I wanna think silly.
Simon and Cowboys love Richard for joining the stream here on SportsCastr as well.
No, I'm not going to go into the win loss record for, um like seasonal for either of these teams yet.
I think that's something that I would like to do in a much longer stream.
When I got guys with me, my other SportsCastr news compatriots Joe Nouveau and Ray route, uh, shout out to you guys for holding the fort down while I was dealing with, uh, long issues I had acquired.
Ah, bacterial laden upper respiratory infection.
And it really put me under the weather for a few days.
I'm still just now trying to get over it.
Well, thanks, everyone for joining me here on SportsCastr.
Um, I'm starting to feel right now.
That's why I brought it up.
We're going to see how Josh Allen handles this was to farmed eggs.
Like I said, I think Beasley will get a lot more receptions.
I mean, he had 67.
I believe it was right, but I think he'll get more.
I think that Brown will take a hit because digs I mean, there's no money on Lee.
So many throws you could pass around.
You said, Oh, everybody get more.
Really? Really? Because you you've got Devin Singletary, who's averaging over five years to carry last year.
You're gonna want to run the football.
You only have so many passes to throw around.
Somebody is taking a hit and it's gonna be up to you to be able to make the decision to throw the football to the open receiver.
Alan, I got a thing.
I think I think you are a very good quarterback that has very, very, very high ceiling.
But you've got to take those steps every year to reach that feeling.
You're not there yet.
To me, Josh is not on the level of Cam Newton he wants to be.
That's the kind of kind of style of play that he plays as much like Cam Newton.
So this will be something that New England be able to use Cam to even practice against.
To prepare for Josh Allen in the Buffalo Bills during seasons and vice versa.
The Bills will be able to use Josh Allen to prepare against Cam Newton.
There's still a little bit different style of play is very, very similar.
This will be interesting to see as it comes up, especially when training camp comes in and hopefully we see a couple preseason game to see how can place how how ah, Josh Allen plays.
This will be fun to watch.
I don't think everyone for joining me here on SportsCastr and until next time I'm Laurence Owen.
This is SportsCastr news.
And as you you will I want you.
