and welcome everyone.
This is the full press NFL by.
We're gonna talk NFC East today, joining the air people that we're not necessarily used to seeing for us.
Chris Rocker, who joined us during the draft Me recognize more from wrestling shows You're on SportsCastr boot to the face.
How you doing? Doing well Doing well.
Thanks for having me.
Thanks for joining us.
And it's our pleasure to announce that Jessica Kofi making her f p c broadcasting debut ARD New New York Giants managing editor.
That's complicated to say, Jessica, welcome.
Thank you. Thank you, thank you.
Thank you, guys. So much for having me on.
I get Really appreciate both you bringing your knowledge respective teams and just NFL knowledge in general in London's.
Also in the background.
He'll chime in if I say something to Ridiculous.
So you killed Probably chime in pretty quickly, But I guess first off, I know Chris, you you were talking about some excitement of okay, there's more to talk about this week.
Then there would have been last week even just regarding to NFL news.
Well, one you know, first for me, anyway, was Deck signed his franchise tag, so that's always good.
That means he will be in training camp if there is a training camp.
And then you have news with the players Association is basically telling the players, you know, the knock off a little while because there's Corona virus outbreaks in a couple teams.
For example, the Cowboys.
I think the Texans have a couple.
Um, Elliott Executive.
Well, it was one of the ones that was confirmed to have tested positive for it.
So some of the news is not so good, but there is news to talk about.
So, Yeah, I I think just with jackets sound something that was that. That itself.
He was always gonna play for the Cowboys this year.
It was on this hag.
It was really was.
Is the extension gonna get done or not? And if not, there was never I don't think he have Republicans said anything that he would refuse to play on the tag that never felt known.
That'll well, at least by him signing.
Like I said, he'll be in training camp.
He won't miss any more off season time, because now he's contractually obligated to be there.
Um and then advise them a little bit more time.
You know they have a little less than three weeks in order to get a loan tone term deal work, but I think they will.
I think deadline is July 15th.
I say July 13th or 14th you'll start hearing rumblings, and closer to the 15th it'll end up happening.
I don't think he's gonna play in the franchise tag because that's a big hit on the cap.
So that's surely it's 31 a half 1,000,000 yet 31.2.
So I I play for that way.
Always, Uh, so yes, is there, Um, And there was, I guess the other thing was there was rumors of potentially teams, maybe have the memories.
Teams themselves will decide whether fans were there.
Not there won't be a white mandate.
I don't think it was official yet, but that was the rumblings going on between, like Schefter and some of those guys that have the inside stuff.
And so the question was asked on the show I was listening to today.
You know, if Jerry Jones were to pick, what do you think he would let in and just the Cowboys? You know sticking with them.
Is this a team? I know Their stadium has like standing room only, and they were saying how that probably would just be done away with completely.
And if the stadium fits 100,000 they would probably do 50,000 or 40,000.
But again, that's just rumors.
But I could see at least 20 and most stadiums, you know, where they could still get social distance and then far enough away from other people, were taken, scream and yell and do all the stuff you do at a football game without getting too close to other people.
Jessica, what do you think about all of this? I think it's very interesting.
You make a really good point about the fact that it's really splintered across the league, and I think the fact that everything is still very, um, coming back the in very different ways across different states and things are still planning on going forward as they're scheduled to right now, I don't think that what we see right now is gonna be what is gonna actually end up happening once the season starts approaching getting closer because even, um, considering training camps and preparation for any offseason preparation that's been done.
So far, it's been very buried across.
Even the divisions feel like the Giants have been doing a lot of zoom meetings and a lot of their off season preparations online.
And you know they're not the only team that's in a position.
Teoh, where they're trying Teoh rebuild a team and form using new coaching staff as well as new players.
So, you know, transitioning from from the adapt adaptations they had to use in the offseason, Teoh.
Whatever they are able to actually take the fueled it's gonna be, I think, a longer time period.
Then we're necessarily expecting right now, Um, the new coaching staff thing is a really good point because teams that have new head coaches normally get Maura O.
A time than what a regular team would get.
Like the Cowboys have my curvy, he'll be able to come in with his system in and all that.
Well, you can't do it any of that.
Now everything's on Zoom.
You're not getting all those practices.
You're not getting the rookies in now.
Every team is dealing with that.
But again, teams with new coaching staffs.
I think they're a little bit more ham strong than teams that have had establish coaching staffs there.
The install its, you know, because he can still teach the players the system.
But you can't know for sure that they're learning a properly that there are executing their, you know, the big, you know, down to the positional coaches knowing that, Okay, the receivers or running the routes the way we want them to the defensive backs, they're they're hip technique and all that is fine.
It's really tough to show that even on just on video, really need that To see the person 60 away from your one of the distances.
It's gonna be closer night when football season stuff way put a mask on.
Yeah, I don't know how they're going to adapt their helmets, maybe toe kind of, you know, work around that latency.
Viewed great time for some kind of new helmets to be invented.
Didn't make a lot of money on that. Exactly.
It's gonna be very interesting to see, especially within the division, cause what three out of before coaches are our new again.
So it will be a lot of adaptation going around.
It's gonna be interesting.
I guess that since the Eagles kind of well positioned the systems the same.
Some rookies in plain.
Some big worlds, though.
So they still have that transition because, you know, players you never played, even if it's a system that the team's familiar with, those players are gonna have a you know, there up to speed.
It's gonna take a while for them t that.
So I guess, uh, there's nothing else.
We can kind of get down to some of the questions we're gonna start to do regularly on these division Previous, uh, football.
It's although the quarterback right, and a lot of us appreciate that the 22 other players that the 52 other players on a team, but the big question in the NFC East, Who is the best quarterback in that? Just going to go? Okay, I'll take this one first, even though it might pain me a little bit to say.
But at this point, I think it's pretty obvious that it's Dak Prescott.
You know, like you for a while.
I think a few years there, there was kind of a question between whether Carson once could overtake him as the best in the NFC East.
But I think especially last season, that kind of separated himself from the rest of the division group.
He was, you know, second most passing yards in the league last year, you know, so you can do it through the air.
You can do to the ground, and he's all around.
I think just more stable than Ben Carson ones is.
And obviously, then the other two teams have been a quarterback in the last year, so that definitely stands out above the rest.
I would agree, Um, obviously, I would agree.
Yeah, really, You know, it's closer than people think.
I think if once could stay healthy cause when he's fallen, he's like one of the top, like he will have runs of four or five games where he's just unreal.
But he just so fragile that hasn't missed a game yet.
His numbers of consistent, you know, went so kind of go up and down and that you kind of know what you're getting with deck and that's to me.
I think that's a good thing.
If you know what your quarterback is gonna bring to the table, you know he's gonna be there all 16 weeks.
I think that is Ah ah, good first step and having a really good top 10 quarterback.
Like I said, if Winds could stay healthy four season, it would probably be him.
He has more natural talent than Deck does, but the health and dependability goes a long way.
Man stability is availability, and he is as much as we could say, Oh, yeah, when he's on the field, it's great.
But that does time he missed.
He has has missed every year, and I know last year was technically just the one game, but it happened to be the playoff games, so it obviously gets blown up in compound.
But yet that price classical quarterback in this division that's won a playoff game.
So there's all those consequences of a Super Bowl ring.
But you know, how much do you get it? After you played, he played amazing.
He could have potentially been an M V P candidate, that that's exactly what I was talking about, that when he's there and he's on, he is really good.
But you can't you can't say, Hey, in three weeks, we got a huge game.
Carson, we're gonna need you because you never know like he's He's so injured.
And I hate to say that, but it's, you know, the proof is in the pudding I had to deal with Tony Romo for I don't know how long So I know how people feel about it, but it's just being available.
That's the thing about I want to say this because in my jump on, that's the thing about Brady, like he's always there besides, one year where he got hurt in a preseason like, If your quarterback is always there, every year you have a shot to at least get to the playoffs every year.
That's a big deal.
Yeah, and I mean, they were having the Cowboys were close.
Last year was barely one that division, and it's in. Find it.
You know, I agree.
I think Dak Prescott of the four quarterbacks is the best yet three first round picks, all top half of the first round, a couple of top 10 picks and it's the guy taken in the fourth round that we all unanimously called the best so kudos to dak for that For a lot of people. Wrong.
Uh, I'm assuming e and you're you're with us and you agree with that, or do you want to chime in on an argument on another player? And I'll take the silence as its dak? We're not talking Brady, so he's not even paying attention.
He's probably saying, Kyle, stop, Stop talking about me.
And he posted the show.
So you know, And so you know, offenses kind of have to run through a quarterback, and obviously you can have teams where the quarterback play could be minimised.
Um, and, uh, but a scripts said, If you if you if you're quarterbacks in years, when games, get the playoffs, if he's not, those chances severely decreased.
Unless you have an elite level backup, right? Um, on defense, if you lose one player, maybe for some teams, that's detrimental.
For the most part, though, it defense is a unit or strong collective where, you know, maybe the middle linebacker, if you lose them and you know of anyone else that could be that play caller.
That's where you may get hurt.
But other than that, a lot of times It's the unit we look at, so maybe oversimplified here.
But what's the best defense in the division? Um, I I would go with the Eagles.
Um, they proved last year they could withstand injuries and still shut teams down when they need to. That week.
16 game against Dallas.
You know, Dallas had all of their weapons on offense and Phillies out there with second and third string guys on both sides of the ball.
But their defense just showed up and played really well.
Their defense kept them in that playoff game when once went down for as long as they did.
I think Phil has got a really good core and they've been together for years, still building on top of it, I think without a doubt, Phillies got the best defense and it's probably not even close.
Oh, I were coming from my Philly building with each core and the Eagles defense at this point has been the most successful in the division.
They want to Super Bowl together, but I think if we're looking ahead to the next season, I think I'm gonna have toe maybe put Washington a little bit ahead of them just because they really did put a lot of work into revamping their D line this offseason.
Obviously, drafting Casey on is, you know, just described as a generational player already, so you know, that's what gets a lot of expectation coming with that.
But it's not just the addition of Chase Young that makes the difference.
I think it's him.
In addition, Teoh being put on a line with contests on and there again on pain, you know, and being paired with you had coach Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio's their defensive coordinator, you know, and I think that is probably the best combination oven environment for she's going to be coming into on and if they can all stay healthy in addition to their secondary, isn't bad, either.
It's probably not the highlight of their defense, but they still have, like Clinton, Collins, um, Sean Dunbar, things like that, people like that.
So I think that they could deftly elevate to the top of the division next year if they stay healthy.
Yeah, good points.
I was I'm actually pretty torrid.
I think those are probably the two best candidates to call best defense.
I will say I do like what the Eagles did specifically going out and traded to get seriously because that was maybe the one biggest weakness on that defense was the secondary, but specifically the boundaries, the corners and getting Darius Slay you hits an all pro caliber player who? I mean, they didn't really give it that much, either.
Third and fifth on a year where they ended up with multiple fourth round picks and a few sixth round picks, they were deep in the in the draft.
They could afford to go to picks, toe address, the need.
So I think I'm gonna leaning on Chris aside and go with the Eagles there.
Sure, they did lose Malcolm Jenkins to in that secondary, so that would be a little bit makeup you get in the Eagles.
The compliment is not something that I want to win, either.
I'm not happy that, uh, in again rookies this year.
Maybe rookie impacts aren't what we should expect.
But are there any rookies on any of these teams that we can get that kind of money flying under the radar? Certainly the early round picks are probably gonna be expected I know we can all say, Let me just mention Chase Young, right? I don't think he's fun under any radar, so we'll start with each of your teams.
So Jessica is there? Ah, Giants player that you think as it work? He could fly.
Could surprise people.
Um, I think that there obviously they have, they have.
Ah, Maura touching on early takes Andrew Thomas quarters.
But I think that, um exhibited became he probably isn't getting as much credit as he's so far.
Doesn't have a lot of people are still kind of questioning his, um His versatility has maybe his ability to kind of adjust to believe.
I think that's probably one of his strengths.
You know, he's able to play d P. They will play.
Um, you know, free safety, strong safety cover, tight ends.
He can cover that pretty much anybody you want.
I think that somebody who's gonna fit into the Giants defense the way it's constructed right now very, very well, So I think that maybe he's not getting enough credit, but it's still obviously they need to take the field and be able to adjust.
I mean, other than him, he is still kind of high profile.
I think that maybe you could look at Matt Hurt a little bit, you know he is.
His name still is kind of out there, and he's not as strong.
But he has a lot of upside, is really athletic.
And depending on how the old line goes, he could be called into action a little sooner than later.
So you must keep an eye on him.
It's a strong call. Dinner.
Yeah, he's gonna have to step up, but there's a lot of upside there, So eso crystal you will go over to Dallas and the Cowboys receiver is expected.
Teoh do better than maybe, uh, are promoted right now.
I, um originally, I think I would have went with Trevan digs, even though he was around to pick.
But with Travis Frederick retiring, they drafted a center out of Wisconsin.
Ironically, Tyler, I can't say his name.
His last name saved my life. Be a Dees.
I think it's how you say it may be, Um, by the end of the year, I'll be able to pronounce it, though, because he's one.
I think he'll end up if he doesn't start the season in the starting lineup.
I think he will take over for Giovanni.
Starting is the center and replaced Travis Frederick to the best of his ability.
I'm not going to save replace him, cause it's like All world center.
But I think that is Ah, really good pick They made and get him in the fifth round coming out of Wisconsin, where they have really good, often divine play.
Um, in a regular training camp situation.
I think he would probably come out starting, but because of covert 19 and who knows how much contact they're gonna have and things of that nature, he may end up on the bench behind Loony to begin with.
But I think I think by the end of the season he'll be to starting center for the Cowboys, probably for the next 5 to 7 years.
Once he gets enough practices to kind of show.
Yeah, okay, he's got this and he could, because it's it's not just playing center here.
You are making a lot of lying calls.
Jack necessarily has all that type of responsibility.
That's probably a lawyer on the center.
I mean, I don't I don't know Um, but I will say decks played.
Would he's played three years in a row with a different center.
I mean, Frederick Fredericks out when he gets loony, then he comes back with Frederick.
I mean, it's only two players, but and usually the center is the one that makes all the calls Now.
There was a big difference between Frederick and Mooney, especially in the red zone, but I think that kind of learned a lot the year before last as having to play with Joe Mooney because they don't even their tryingto.
I kind of do everything else where maybe he couldn't make all the calls, so I think that is getting there.
But he'll be able to take a rookie center and kind of coach him along while he's done.
We're paying the guy $31 million a year.
Hey, could coach the center.
You'll have the multitask day.
Oh, so that I think you know one truth of football is trench plate.
Incredibly important offensive line play incredibly important.
And I think for the Eagles, I'm also gonna go with an offensive lineman as under the radar player.
This is a player, actually a Packers fan.
I was kind of hoping the Packers my draft, this this player and Jack Driscoll Jeff Jack Driscoll tackle now with bread and Brooks the guard tearing his Achilles and now being out for the year, I do wonder they're shifting going on in that tear.
That line, maybe dress school, gets on the field earlier as a guard rather than just a waiting is the swing tackle.
Maybe someone who seems to feel a lot more than we were expecting.
Even I'm going to go.
Yeah, I don't know if either of you had a day, no enough for the Eagles players.
Teoh making a judgment on them of any of their draft picks.
But feel free to share.
If you do, you have one trying not to pay attention.
The e have it all lost on social medias once they want to propose.
Like I can't deal with these.
Yeah, normally I am on the same page with that sentiment, but I actually do kind of like what they did with their wide receiving corps in the draft.
And that's besides jailing Leaguer and besides John Hightower.
Actually, I kind of like um, quest walk ins because he has, ah, Tana Speed.
His 40 yard dash time was really impressive.
Sub 44 is not something toe obviously overlook, but he does still have to develop a little bit, um, more skill wise, you know, in order to be more dependable.
But I think that he could be like an under the radar wide receiver.
They really make a difference because they really don't have that many options to begin with.
I mean, you're hurting.
Last year, Josh McCown had to line up a wide receiver.
Couple plays like that Desperate times, and they still don't know about that e m.
Just It just shows how good their coaching and just team unity is.
Man, I hate saying that, but the Eagles will be.
They'll be there till the end again this year, regardless of it.
Winces or not, I think they'll be wanted top two or three teams in division, as usual.
Yeah, after Marisol Lydia.
It also speaks to the whole division. No, Sorry.
That's true to you.
Very, very up and down.
Talked about on the fantasy pod ranked every division.
Every team one through four through every division on who's the best offense? The only time we came up with one person shows a team at one, and one person chosen at four was the Eagles.
And it's think it's so characteristic of the innocent, at least all the time, where it's so up and down.
You mentioned Chris.
What? Watkins? Actually, just because I actually knew more about him than John High Towers, it was surprising how he's the third receiver they took.
I expected him to go a little higher than the sixth round.
Yes, I guess Washington's the other team, a stick receiver because and Tonio Gandhi golden, he may have a chance toe Pierce into that receiving corps rather early.
I mean, I think Terry McLaren's very well established as the Alfa in on that team right now, but really, outside of that, Kelvin Harmon kind of came on at the end of the year.
Maybe he takes, ah, big step up and really becomes that Number two.
You've got a couple of slot guy slot receivers like trade when Steven Sims, but maybe Antonio Gandhi gold, another pretty athletic player.
Maybe he has a chance to crack that lineup.
Yeah, I actually really liked that pick.
I was also thinking the same person.
You know, it's gonna be, um, really interesting to see how he kind of breaks out a little bit.
Like coming from a school like liberty.
You know, he's underrated a lot just because he's not on, you know, he's not on every Saturday, but, uh, it's gonna be interesting, really, To see not only if he can compete with or even compliment McLaurin, but how he builds chemistry with Dwayne Haskins was doing Haskins is gonna have to become a lot more reliable in order for that offense to really take off.
And also, it's gonna be interesting to see if him if, um Gandhi Golden recovering from Cove it effects have play at all because he said he was symptom free now.
But, you know, you never know how is gonna affect these athletes when they come back.
It's a good food.
Yeah, good point.
But I wasn't really thinking of that.
Yeah, So having brought you on, Chris, did you want to mention anything about Washington? I really don't know much about their rookie team B on the switch.
Except for Chase Young.
Of course, we're gonna get to know him a little too well.
Uh, so the next category was breakout.
This doesn't necessarily have to be a rookie, but just a player that you believe will take a step up in year two.
So, Chris, any any of the Cowboys players are not s earlier, too, but just a step up from what they were last year there, any cowboys, that meat, that I think this one kind of took a step up last year is Michael Gallup.
I think with the addition of CD lamb, obviously Amari Cooper there, I think gallops gonna get a lot of one on one coverage, and he's gonna beat a lot of one on one coverage.
He's really good at just making contested catches.
He's always where he needs to be, which is a really good trait for a second.
Going into 1/3 year receiver.
He's a little bit tougher than people think that he is.
I really like him this season.
I don't know honestly, if I was to have to pick between him and Lamb and a fantasy team.
I would probably big Gallup because, Gal, it'll probably get more coverage and he'll probably be on the outside by himself a lot more.
So I think I will should have a big year this year.
I'm hoping he does, and I like him a lot, too. He's a good guy.
And yet, like I said, he's already proven he can win on the outside in his career.
I mean, I know I was such a huge believer.
Corey Davis, for instance, and he has not shown the ability to wait out the outside outside received.
It could be a great slot receiver, but I think it's kind of pigeon told that way.
But so for galloped already kind of show that prowess this early in his career definitely is a good indicator. Good sign.
Do have a question for you, Chris.
Do you think the Cowboys regret giving Amari Cooper that big contract? No, because not knowing they would have been CD lamb if they if they knew that in advance that they were in a draft CD.
Do you think they had done that differently? It depends.
It depends on the salary cap.
Rather not the salary cap starts climbing like everybody thinks it's going to do in the next 2 to 3 years.
Oh, in the grand scheme of things, I don't think the contract is that bad.
I wouldn't did it just because Cooper's kind of 1/2 and half guy like he's good at home, bad on the road kind of disappears here and there.
And then he'll blow up, You know, a couple of games where he'll just be unstoppable.
Ah, 100 million's a lot of money, no matter how you slice it.
But I don't think they regret it.
Um, I think he's the He's the right kind of player that is the opposite of Dez Bryant.
Like Dez was very volatile and loud and boisterous.
And and Cooper's just if he drops a pass, if he scores a touchdown, he's got same demeanor like, no matter what happens, he's not too hot, not too cold.
He doesn't cause trouble.
He didn't getting anything off the field.
He's just a good citizen slash players.
Last leader, slash teammate Like everybody talks about him.
They compared him to Kawai.
Leonard, uh, I was reading an article from the Cowboys players, and they were saying he's like Leonard, where he will either destroy you or he won't.
But you won't know the difference because of his demeanor.
There's the same the entire time, and I think what younger receivers like Gallop and like CD lamb behind him, he'll be a good mentor for them on how they should carry themselves on and off the field.
So I think that money goes more towards the the total package of a Mark Cooper, as opposed to just what he produces on the field.
So I think they like it. I like it.
It's funny you mention his opposite Dez Bryant because their place styles air.
Probably exactly opposite.
I mean, does Brian, one of best contested catchers in the NFL during his time at peak 2012 toe, 14 15 Reds.
You don't put him in the red zone, you're probably getting a touchdown.
And, um, not not the greatest of separating, though, but because he was so good a contested catches, it didn't matter.
He's always open, but the hands and if he if he had, if he had even 75% of DeAndre Hopkins hands he might be the best receiver in the NFL.
I'm telling you, honestly, watching him in the past two years with the Cowboys, I'm surprised how many pass.
He hasn't dropped because when he was with the Raiders, I feel like I had him on my fantasy team every year and every time I was switched to the NFL red zone and see Amari Cooper, he was making a drop, and then he scored like three touchdowns in 200 yards.
But then he dropped like four passes the next game, and I'm just like, so to me, he's improved the lights and e.
I think that the time and I'll go back to Packers game right That opening drive, things were looking great.
Doc puts a perfect pass, right? Taku pretty just volleyballs it right to Judge Alexander and the game flipped.
Jones gets in on the rushing touchdown, the Packers are up and they never looked back and they just run.
They just keep running the whole game.
I think they always published scored on that drive, not given up seven points.
So it's a diaper.
That's that's one.
Those Packers games like we just can't.
It's weird stuff happens against the Packers, Add acted uncharacteristically.
Throw a few interceptions, but that one wasn't on him.
And I think there was another weird Tim Baltz.
Jessica will go to the Giants.
What do you think we'll take a big step up this year? Oh, well, personally, I'm really hoping that it's Jabrill Peppers because I was really not necessarily rooting for him when he was in Cleveland that excited to see what he could dio.
You know, a lot of hype being a first round pick, and he didn't really live up to that in um, his years at Cleveland.
But he moving over to the Giants now being paired with anything I mentioned before Xavier McKinney on this in the same secondary, even if he is able to move down a little bit.
And Teoh and playing closer to the line of scrimmage, I think will be a different role for him.
And I think that's, um, the kind of role that he needs toe kind of, ah, bring a little bit of a resurgence to his career.
Even though it's still early, but a little bit of resurgence, he has shown that he could get better He got better between years.
One and two? No.
And coming over here, he did get better.
So, um, they gave up a lot for him, obviously.
And he's a hometown.
He's a home state boy.
So I'm really rooting for him and hoping he can He can elevate.
Yeah, I think I like peppers.
He just He looks like when you have, ah, safety.
And you think of what they should look like when they put the uniform on like he just looks like a safety.
I've always been kind of a fan is just like I said off athleticism and stuff like that.
So I'm hoping he doesn't do well this season, hoping even more that I'm going to make the big boss happy here and I'll bring with the Patriots and how they run their safeties.
Where you at their peak? McCord? Ian Chang. You did.
There wasn't a free or strong safety between them.
You'd never know what the responsibility was gonna be on either.
And I think secondaries can turn more towards that.
Just do you see the giants doing that? Where there's not one clear to find rolling, You see, maybe expecting peppers to be more strong safety this year.
But could they be switching both around just to kind of confused G offices? Yeah, please see them going class system.
I think that they definitely have a unique um, you need to defensive scheme right now.
And I feel like that because they're so set apart in that you might think that it's a little easier for teams to kind of game plan for them and predict what they're going to dio.
But I think they built the defense and pick the players in a way that they can use their versatility to their advantage so they can move somebody like McKinney or peppers around the field, switched their positions, have peppers, maybe line up as a linebacker.
Essentially, you know, on my passing down things like that.
And I think that's they're gonna going to use that to their advantage because it's like you said, it's unpredictable.
You can switch them in, and now and, um, I think that's something that the Giant have been missing, especially in the secondary, because it's been very.
It's been rough last few years, so they definitely need some creativity going on.
I think that's what they're gearing towards.
Okay, now, I always wanted give things towards fantasy, and I feel like I've done really good job way.
Haven't mentioned it once.
You, Chris, is the one who brought it up. Not me, but we're going there now.
Um, I think the NFC East actually possesses one of maybe the most major fancy questions a lot of people will be asking themselves.
Christian McCaffrey is gonna be the first overall running back What he did last year, how much how much he outscored the field.
And the expectation is he could probably catch that many passes again.
It's leading a lot of people to lean that direction, but running back to this is a lot.
This is a decision along people are making.
Do you go say Kwan Barkley with the Giants or Ezekiel Elliott with the Cowboys? Both our guests are here representing the team.
They're not our guest.
Uh, that are you know, people I'm talking to you are here.
Uh, you know, with these teams.
So, uh, biased or unbiased opinions, I guess both are accepted.
Um, Tesco will start with you.
Who would you taken in a fantasy draft.
Alright, this might be buys of me, but I think of course I'm gonna go with, say, Kwan.
You know this because they both obviously have the ability to be your bell cow back.
You know, like your main running back that you don't have to switch out at any point.
But I think with the changes that came over the off season, it's gonna make a lot more of an impact than, um then might realize at this point because not only is there both going through coaching staff changes, but I think the ones that the Giants are implementing are gonna highlight sake.
Want more than what Dallas is doing to highlight Zeke.
You know, Dallas kind of balance their team out a little bit more.
They added, Wide receiver depth.
All those things are gonna make the team better essentially, and they're gonna be competing for the top spot in the NSC as the east.
But the Giants are really building their offense around, say, Kwan and Daniel Jones and with, uh, not lack of wide receivers.
But they definitely have, uh, lower tier wide receiver.
That's a golden Tate and throwing shepherd or probably, um, the top of the depth or and those You're not going to go to them over sick, Juan, you know, So if you can stay healthy, I think that's gonna be the key.
Um, the offensive line being reinforced definitely helps him.
So I think if he obviously if he stays healthy and stays on the field, his usage is gonna put him at an advantage over Zeke.
Chris, do you agree or disagree? So if this question was X 365 days ago, I would have agreed with her.
I actually picked, say, Kwan, over seek and one of my fantasy leagues.
I think for some reason, I don't think Zeke a slowdown, but I just haven't seen, like, breakaway runs anymore.
And I feel like, say, corn gets one, like, one every two or three games where he just leaves everybody behind him.
So his home run speed is is way better.
Um, but Dallas, I feel has more weapons.
Um, they have more receivers.
Obviously, they have a better quarterback.
So all the attention won't sake wants the guy.
You've got to stop when you go play the giants and from a guy that's watch this dude on the sideline for the past 10 years.
Jason Garrett is not the guy you want to have to go up against the defense designed to stop your main player.
Um, I think, say Corn will probably take a step back this year just because of who the offensive coordinator is.
Garrett is not good with passing the ball to running backs, using them in the screen game things of that nature.
I think they've missed a lot the past four years.
We've given seek screens and dump off passes and things like that because he's so focused with trying to force the ball downfield that he just forgets about how good of a running back that you have that can catch the ball out of the backfield and be one on one with a linebacker, safety and nobody else around and say Kwan would destroy people like that, and I just don't think get will take advantage of it.
Um, that's just so I would have to pick Elliott, just off of sheer Jason Garrett have heard.
By now you are right that Zeke never caught enough passes what his talent was indicating except for maybe 2018.
You got 77 passes that year so that there's maybe some hope for Barkley in that.
He's, you know, Garrett's getting him.
And Barclays already shown that he's a very cable pass.
Catchers and rookie put up nine receptions, which I think put him.
It was either the top 10 or top 15 all time, single season for running backs as a rookie, already kind of getting to that elevated status.
And they said, I think that breakaway speed and I'm not sure how much instant again my former coach, that team now, I don't know how much McCarthy necessarily will throw to Elliot.
I know he especially loves to run the 11 personnel as much as he can, and he has the has the weapons and the receivers to do that.
And so I probably don't see Zeke catching any more than you did last year.
54 passes last year, uh, actually was more than Barkley will mark the only played 13 games, Que, which was off the pace in 2018 I will say, but I think I'd lean on Jessica side and go with Barkley.
Honestly, I'm almost at the point where I think I might take Barkley over McCaffrey simply because I don't exactly expect McCaffrey to play 100% of the snaps like you did last, uh, last season where every, you know, he never came off the field more than the quarterbacks on the And so I think that's part of what led him to be so much better running back, fantasy wise.
Anyone else I think he's.
He may still be the one running back one overall, but not by the insane margin that it's gonna be.
And the last time running back repeated is the number one overall fantasy running back.
Your two years, I think, was LaDainian Tomlinson 62,007.
We've had a great seasons, but no one's ever gone back to back, and I don't know what I'm gonna bet.
I'm gonna bet on on that number continuing, and that's why I'm saying Barkley over both Sicken and McCaffrey, which I think might be hot day, considering I've seen making it was one of everywhere.
It's so rare to see a guy like or any running back have a year like McCaffrey did and then repeated The next year, I mean if we're going away from fantasy and we're just talking about running back.
I take Barkley over everybody like Barclays just that good.
I think he's a special talent that you won't see you know around for a couple of years.
But fantasy wise, I would take he would probably be number three out of that group to me.
But, um, I don't know if my Catherine McCaffrey's a different just the way they forced the ball with that guy.
Like I lost so many games and so many leagues just watching them losing and just constantly throwing dump off passes to him and there the other guy scored just constantly going up.
But I don't I don't I don't see him having that kind of year again.
I think I think they'll be in games a little bit more this year in Carolina, and they won't just be forcing the ball temas much as they were.
I think it's gonna be a big drop off from a calf because last year was just special, but like I said, he can afford a drop off and still be the number one overall player.
I think he almost gets hurt by the improved quarterback play, Bridgewater might be looking more towards D.
Moore and Curtis Samuel than then He will just dump off to him, right? Yeah, but we all agree that those are the top three players that in any fancy draft, those should be your top three.
Yeah, I would agree with that.
I don't really do quarterbacks that early, but I think the Mark Jackson is pretty up there, too.
I mean, the Russian yards and touchdown that guy's going to get this year to go along with his quarterback numbers will be really good, But I just wouldn't pick him in the top three like you have to go running back.
I mean, in when I play super flexor to quarterback formats.
Any format where you can start to quarterbacks in a week, I probably will actually go.
Mahomes Jackson is the 1st 2 picks.
I'm quarterback aggressive in those formats, but yeah, it's just it's just start one.
But that's like person.
That's probably where it's gonna have to be to take him.
So I doubt I'm getting very much Lamar Jackson in at least in single quarterback leaks, right? Um but the I guess the only other name that maybe could enter it is Alvin Kamara just because he catches so many passes every year 81 81 receptions, three straight years, which is an insane stat.
Had that many left here, it seems like Wester was offer him like you didn't.
I am as much a little step back that touchdowns were weren't there last year he went from.
I think it was 18 touchdowns in 2018 to 5 last year, but I think that was a big reason.
But knowing anyone, anyone receptions three straight years.
I remember looking up earlier this offseason.
It's the weirdest thing to have exactly that same amount of perceptions every season.
Even last year, different number of games played still 81 passes he connected, and I'm sure people are going to consider Michael Thomas that high.
I guess I would say this is suddenly it's turned into an FCC NFC South that's already.
But to that I would say Michael, Tom receivers so deep that I don't want and take a right, you know, taking Thomas that early where you're 104105 That's a long wait on the second time around.
Yeah, you may lose out on those top two or three tiers of running back.
You may not get any, so I would be hesitant to go wide receiver that really I would still, you know, my 1st 5 picks.
That three we mentioned tomorrow. Dalvin Cook.
I might even start talk about Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, Nick Chubb, Joe Mixon before I look at receiver.
Just because again, receiver does seem deeper, which is actually my next question here.
We're going with the early first round talk.
Eso Who's the best receiver receiver? You would want a draft in fancy leads the most in this division.
I'm sorry about where you're gonna Okay, I would go.
McLaurin Just because Cooper's got a lot of weapons with them, Um, the evils have a couple of receivers.
My corn is the the one guy there in Washington.
Where and then he just seems unstoppable when he's there to like, I watched so many games with him had a hell.
Did he catch that? Like, how is he that open? How is he leaving every I think he's gonna be really good in Washington.
And, like I said, Dallas is gonna be.
They got so many weapons like you really want to stay away from fantasy football wide receivers with the Cowboys just because there's there's three of you know they have.
There's only one ball and you have all Pro running back.
So I would Goma Corn as the wide receiver to pick and and then you could probably get him later on to, like second, maybe third round if you depending on what kind of leader and so you get really good value for him also.
Yeah, yes, I agree.
I mean, I like that pick a lot like Corn just kind of came out of nowhere last season, you know, and he is really impressive.
And you were even able to get him off of the weight of wire at some point, right, you know, So it's incredible to think that he's, you know, going and a five second round something like that.
And you know, this year.
But I also think that not, but I think he'll take a step back.
But I think he's gonna have a little but have a harder time just because is Maurin stability at quarterback and who they're actually gonna end up going with? They kind of have, like, three options right now with Dwayne Haskins obviously having to earn the job full time.
But, um, not that the Redskins had a stable quarterback situation going into this, but I think the question mark there is gonna be a little bit more unpredictable when it comes to fantasy.
I as opposed to you, the Dallas who obviously Doc Prescott is the most stable quarterback in the NFC right now, and he's gonna have a lot of incentive to play for if he wants to negotiate for that long term contract, you know? So even though they do have more weapons, how do you think Amara Cooper would be? It would still be a good, like it's second or third round wide receiver to take, but I also think maybe the more her decision, if you want to go with Dallas, what it take would be to take CD lamb a little later on.
I feel like a lot of people might not be asked, focused on drafting him in fantasy, and he could be poised for a breakout season.
Yeah, less attention on him.
The rookie Right out, of course.
There gonna gear coverage towards Amari Cooper Current, as Chris mentioned earlier gallops, has produced in the NFL's The team's air, especially initially gonna be focused on that, uh, my problem with the Marquis Cooper's again Get Chris already mentioned as well.
I keep stealing from you, but it's so it's so great 1/2 thean consistencies the week to week.
He's never going to get you that consistent.
Okay, you know he's getting 15 points every week or whatever.
You need to feel comfortable, at least in my eyes, with my wide receiver ones.
I'd like to draft for stability early, and I'll go for those high variance type of players later.
So Mari Cooper's not the type of player I like drafting even in the third or fourth round.
But that's, you know, you forget it many later than that.
So he's probably not someone I'm gonna have very much of.
I do like the idea of Terry Makor in, um, just made a good point with stability, Terrible corn, incredibly consistent to start the year with Case Keenum, and then when the transition went from Keenum toe Haskins.
He started lost some production.
But then, as the year went on and he grew more accustomed to ask, it's he started to produce again and fancy playoffs.
Terry McAuliffe had a good finish, right? Which may cause the recency bias, may cause it to go a little bit higher and drafts, but I think I would have to pick him.
Um, you know, the other thing that you could mind value is actually with the Giants just because it seems like all of them are going pretty late.
So Sterling Shepard 7th 8th round.
That seems like a decent place to be if he ends up leading the team in targets or at least talk to, which is certainly a possibility.
Yeah, I would agree with that.
Sorry, the one last thing I want to mention.
As much as there are a few quarterback options in Washington, think Dwayne Haskins is gonna have this pretty unquestioned.
They just want to make sure he knows the office.
I feel like I'll Allen's they're teaching the offense because Ron Rivera knows him.
He's worked with him.
He knows that he knows the offense or that at least what? What Rivera does philosophically, so I don't mean cause Let's be honest.
Column didn't inspire much of a great quarterback play last year.
I think 18 is looking at that and saying, That's our answer.
Haskins late made some good, had some good victories for them.
I think of the comeback win against the Lions.
Yeah, it's the Lions, and they blew leads against everybody.
That was the thing they did last year.
You know, Packers were fortunate on both instances, so, uh, but he still had to lead.
Uh, you know, the game was tied at the end.
There was less than a minute left.
He lent out them downfield, gone in the field goal range and kicked the game winning field goal.
And actually, somehow, for some reason, the coach called a time out and end the game with the field goals.
They actually to go back on defense.
But Haskins himself managed the situation really well, And so that showed OK, he can trips her down.
He can win you a game.
You need you that drive and yeah, get this alliance defense thema caviar.
But I expect him to step up And maybe that's who I should have said is the breakout player pass kids being the starter that I expect to be the starter all year.
You should probably show more consistency than what he did is over.
Yeah, I like him a lot of so I really hope that he does.
It's the matter of just like you said, whether or not he's able to take that performance and make it consistent.
Consistency is key that we've consistently said that throughout this episode, Um, any before we get off a fantasy, are we gonna do a full press fantasy league? I hadn't heard much about that.
I just hit my brand while you were talking about it.
Are we gonna do that? Mine invited.
Is that what this is? No, no, no, that's that's definitely gonna happen. I know.
Right now, Kayla Salt and I were doing a little dynasty league just for us support friends, But yeah, I definitely am planning Teoh Commission A a full press coverage staff flee.
I'm not sure of the size.
I mean, if it needs to be 16 people to get everyone in, I'm all for it, so yeah.
You have to keep your mind, Chris for that.
And Jessica as well.
If if you are interested, Fancy for sure there's a spot for you.
Yeah, Thank you.
Definitely want a drink? Okay.
Awesome outs. Official that was recorded.
So I have to do it.
So I think you're smart expert Chris during this in public, Always as stuff while you're recording it.
Holding you to it down, huh? E? I love fancy so much that it's it's gonna happen.
I definitely think I like Teoh.
This limit actually talked to came also under briefly about and I haven't mentioned Teoh and yet, but maybe live draft on SportsCastr at least.
Ah, certainly episodes We re capping draft with certain guests.
I don't know if that's something that could be doable, but, uh, something I may aim for so little reward.
You know, during fantasy drafts, I drink.
So if drinking on drinking on the stream is not allowed, and I'm not gonna do it because I gotta show your cameras making it says it's a great idea and drinking is allowed to go.
We don't even need to put the camera on it.
Look at your beautiful face, Chris.

I guess there's what three minutes left.
So any complete nonsense now? Now it's off the rails.
I'm just excited about the fantasy league now, like that will be fun that mean to me to didn't get to finish any any of my other fantasy leaks from the spring, You know, some kind of itching to get back in there.
And I expect, baby early August might be a good time to do that.
Maybe even a little baby just to give so that we can kind of use our league to also educate people.
Okay, what are the strategies that were shown by different people in the league and help people with their fantasy drafts? I have one advantage physique, since, like, 2015.
So it's been I'm a minute kind of a drought right now, so I don't know.
People won't listen to me.
Maybe that will make you more driven to win, though.
So, yeah, I always tell if I'm only doing I'm in a dynasty league.
Every year I run a league with a couple buddies, and then I usually do like, two or three more, and I always tell myself, Just do four of them, because then you start going up against the players that you're starting in another league.
You know, everything starts running together, so I'm gonna try to keep it to 3 to 4 teams this year that I pay for Jeff.
Definitely more on the I'm gonna go with the same team so I can share for the same players every Sunday, right? Right.
Hopefully that strategy and works for you because I run into the same problem, E.
I mean, I'm I'm in so many leagues that I just I buy into the diversity and I may purposely like, Okay, I'm so close.
Any of these two players, it's the 10th 11th round and drafted.
I don't have any of this guy at all.
That might be that the last deciding factor sometimes just as a way to purposely diversify, I guess just to get played 14 leagues last year might even explored at this year.
Five and navigate to start my line up.
Something that stops that wasn't immune from any a couple of lineup glitches here and there are pretty well, for the most part, um, actually do recently have kind of embraced the line, upsetting of it on bdo last readiness myself.
Allesandro Sunday morning stream going through lineup decision.
Specifically, people had questions and go through the process and you know, the more leagues I have, the more information I can gather from those who actually kind of embrace it. In that sense.
Although I would say You guys be our last guest on the fancy pot, Who's I know? He's in 50 leagues now and he is at this point.
He just counts by 10.
So Oh, my God, yeah, yeah Shame, shame, extreme insane.
Shane, that's fancy talk.
Thank you for listening to this NFC East episode of NFL.
FBC LIFE FBC NFL Live that backwards, Just like the NFC East always is.
