I'm Matt Williamson with yard Barker to here to talk to you a little bit about the New York Jets and where they are right now.
Frankly, this has been one of the worst organizations in the NFL over the course of my lifetime.
And while I think Joe Douglas is the right man for the Jets GM job, changing that pattern certainly won't be easy.
And however it might shock some of you that New York did win seven games last year.
Kind of didn't seem like it.
And it certainly is encouraging and noteworthy that the Jets were much more successful in the Win loss column when Sam Donald was healthy while Donald was out with mono.
This was quite possibly the worst quarterbacking we saw from any team all season.
But while the Jets did go seven and nine last year, they did play one of the league's easiest schedules.
This year, they face one of the office, but hopefully is with you know.
Hopefully, though, is with with Donald for a full slate of games, and Douglas did do a very, very good job with both quality and especially quantity of building an offensive line to help Donald succeed, and the skill positions on offense could be better than most think.
Levy on Bell might bounce back this year.
I'm excited about Chris Herndon.
The Jets were excellent special teams last year, and this is maybe the most underrated defense in the league.
But it is also noteworthy that they did face a very easy group of offenses last year.
This was also the most injured team in the league last year, which, of course, is unlikely to keep up. So that's encouraging.
Still, if you reverse all the Jets one score games from last year, this would have been a three and 13 team, and their first quarter and first half point differentials were also both quite poor.
Their opponents outscored the Jets by 83 points last year.
So I am a Darnel believer, and I fully expect New York's offense to take a noticeable step forward.
I mentioned the offensive line improvements, and I like the skill guys.
We also go a long way if New York to get a full year out of C.
Mosley, a linebacker to kind of quarterback, the defense, and if Quinn Williams, source of fulfill his promise up front.
But overall, this was closer.
05 win team, in my opinion last year than what they're 97 9 record really indicated they could be starting to trend up, though.
So I do have some optimism.
I am Matt Williamson with your barker.
