00:06:17
Ah, hello, everyone.
00:06:19
And good morning.
00:06:20
And welcome to another episode of the BBC Radio Live It is Wednesday.
00:06:24
It is Hump day.
00:06:25
That's right.
00:06:26
It is June the third.
00:06:27
We are getting our way through this month.
00:06:28
We're getting close to the halfway mark of 2020 and 2020.
00:06:32
Could not end soon enough.
00:06:34
Ah, but the best part of our day is sitting here talking to you guys and talking a bunch of nonsense.
00:06:40
So we're going to do that.
00:06:41
So, Mike, how we doing today? I'm you know, I'm going to cut the I'm gonna cut the bs and I'm just gonna get to get to the point.
00:06:48
Mike, how we doing? Uh, doing levels can be affected, my friend.
00:06:57
You hit the nail on the head, and that was that plan that was that planned trying? No, actually, it was not playing, my friend.
00:07:07
I'm not encouraging public drunkenness at 8 43 Eastern time in the morning, but at the same time really, really hit home when it came Teoh 2020.
00:07:17
Not ending soon enough.
00:07:19
Yeah, folks, we were well aware of everything.
00:07:23
Everything that is going on, and it's it's a tough time for us all.
00:07:27
But at the same time, we continue to come here and try to bring you a little bit of a break from for heartburn, if you will on, uh, you know, just try to do our thing here on NBC.
00:07:37
Radio lives always an honor to get the microphone with my good buddy here each and every day.
00:07:41
And, you know, for lack of a better term, we hope, Teoh, we don't descend into the weekend with a little love ballot being going, you know, maybe the freeze, the Morales people, but not all.
00:07:53
In all actuality, it's still a lot to talk about in the world of sports.
00:07:56
Macron said openly.
00:07:58
That is our main focus.
00:08:00
And, uh, we don't remain pretty much as such, I guess.
00:08:03
Yeah, no, of course.
00:08:05
And then, look, I've already started doing my research.
00:08:07
Um, I was hard toiling away last night before I went to bed.
00:08:10
Just, you know, on YouTube just kind of browsing and going through and getting a reminder of some of these songs.
00:08:15
So again, I don't want to give anything away because I want to do this completely.
00:08:20
Ah, you know, uncoordinated.
00:08:22
I mean pretty much time to how we do mostly shows.
00:08:24
We just kind of go in and wing it.
00:08:27
Ah, we got off to ah, little bit later start than we expected because of us.
00:08:32
Are our system crashing here? It sometimes happens.
00:08:35
It's it's just how it is.
00:08:36
But we're here.
00:08:37
Ah, Friday, like Mike mentioned, we are going to do the, um, top are our top 10 eighties love songs inspired by Richard Marks from our Monday show A very brief Monday show.
00:08:50
So if you miss that, um, certainly go back and check out.
00:08:53
Check that out.
00:08:54
It's a brief 20 something minutes again.
00:08:56
We had some technical issues, so we weren't able to complete the show, and we kind of just ended it there.
00:09:02
But we're able to pick up what we planned on doing on Monday yesterday.
00:09:06
So if you didn't see or see or listen to yesterday show ah, check it out.
00:09:10
Kyle, center of EPC ah, fantasy came on to talk about his eager hockey stat, and we had a good discussion about that.
00:09:18
Of course, we had a good friend Brian Snow onto close to show out.
00:09:21
So it was a good day. Check it out.
00:09:23
I think it was a lot of fun, but we're gonna have some fun here today.
00:09:26
Mike, I do have a question for you, though.
00:09:28
And I didn't I meant to ask you last night.
00:09:31
Did you get the correct? Ah, Bronze air in for ah, for your statue? Because I know you have to leave early today, so we're gonna cut the show a little short.
00:09:41
Ah, but you have to go inspect the shining and the polishing off your statue that's being put up in front of problems College? Yes, absolutely.
00:09:51
Bronzer came in a shiner, came in Ah, much love.
00:09:54
And thanks to Kruger international medals for really stepping up in and bringing us the bringing us that that's moving Temple.
00:10:02
It just was absolutely beautiful.
00:10:05
It really brought out the really brought up a shine because you confirmed it Some a bit sideways.
00:10:09
Shine it up real night.
00:10:10
That stuck it straight up.
00:10:12
OK, way shining up.
00:10:18
Really, But nine, but no, you know? Yeah.
00:10:23
Big, big love Teoh approval could small the silk shirt unless the hot date.
00:10:29
Oh, there you go.
00:10:31
You know, I was just realizing that I don't have the rock under my my, um, catalogue of wrestling theme music on the computer.
00:10:40
So that's certainly something I'm gonna have to get on that.
00:10:42
That's it.
00:10:43
That's an incredible oversight on my part, I must say, because I got all the multiple.
00:10:48
He had multiple great themes.
00:10:50
Teoh really did the rock.
00:10:52
The rock tweaked his theme a lot.
00:10:54
He was one of the first that I remember that Did that where you heard, like, a lot of different themes going back and forth with him during ah, the of the attitude era.
00:11:01
So, yeah, choose choose wisely there.
00:11:04
I would say I would say his 2002 ish, You know that the pre Ah, uh oh, God, they called the WWF.
00:11:16
Um, it was like, um or ah, rock hip hop.
00:11:21
Ah, version of the songs.
00:11:23
And I'm blanking on the name of the CD.
00:11:26
I had it.
00:11:27
I bought it.
00:11:28
I mean, come on.
00:11:29
I was a teenager. Young kit.
00:11:31
It was certainly buying every one of those wrestling CDs because why the hell not? I remember I remember the metal phase that I remember the metal phase they went to It was full metal thing was before Was that aggression? WWF aggression? That might have been Yeah.
00:11:49
Anyways, But I remember that.
00:11:50
Well, this this I mean, this had, like, the run d m c version of ah, you know, the D X song and all that.
00:11:58
So you know what I mean? Like, I mean, it was a great CD.
00:12:00
I mean, if you again, if you're a wrestling fan, check it out.
00:12:03
But, you know, the rock had one of his on there, and I liked it, But at the same time, I enjoyed the, um, the one before that.
00:12:10
The very simple, you know, it starts with the if you smell, and then it just goes right into the instrumental and, you know, and then it has, you know, the Yeah, that's that's the most indelible for me.
00:12:20
Will you talk to the one I wrote? The one I'll always remember is if you smell t look, the rock, you think that then it goes into the Oh, exactly.
00:12:32
That's my favorite.
00:12:33
Well, I mean, that's the thing, too.
00:12:35
It's like they you know, they change.
00:12:37
They make subtle changes to these songs all the time.
00:12:39
So, like, um, you know, sometimes you don't notice it.
00:12:43
But, you know, again, that was definitely my favorite.
00:12:45
And again it was one of those songs, like The Stone Cold One.
00:12:48
It really it pops right off the big.
00:12:50
You know, I have to be getting a lot of wrestling's songs.
00:12:53
Do I mean because that's that's kind of, you know, that's kind of like that.
00:12:57
What's the point of it is is like to create a a reaction, and some of them just kind of hit a little bit harder than others for different reasons.
00:13:05
But But the rock was certainly, um, certainly one of them, because it's like I mean, you hear that? You hear him come across the loudspeaker and you know, you know, you know something about to go down.
00:13:15
It's just like when you hear the glass break or something like that and and and further, absolutely, and for first say, like the undertaker, it's like, uh, you know, you.
00:13:25
The lights go out all of a sudden, you know, the you know what's what's going on.
00:13:28
So trying to, let's see here, see if we can ah, pull this up here and let me know if you can hear this.
00:13:37
So I think I have it set up correctly and maybe not.
00:13:43
Hold on. Hold on, folks. Hold on.
00:13:45
We're keeping there.
00:13:46
There we go.
00:13:49
It is okay.
00:13:53
That's it. Yeah.
00:13:56
Yep.
00:13:58
We'll see.
00:14:00
I I want to get to the solo, you know, towards the end of the song where it's like, it really gets into it the electric guitar way.
00:14:09
Oh, yeah, Yeah.
00:14:16
Here comes Well, Well, for some reason, I think the longer part of that is towards the end.
00:14:26
And I don't know if we want to see here for three minutes listening to the whole song because that will take us, like, right up.
00:14:32
People would probably rather listen to that.
00:14:34
Yeah, that's very true.
00:14:37
Well, I was going to say we could We could play that, That that would bring us right to break.
00:14:42
You know, we still have to take a break here because we want to keep ah kee keep the pace and keep the flow going like we would normally, even though we have kind of a shorter show today.
00:14:50
Ah, but, you know, that actually would have been kind of convenient to see toe.
00:14:54
Listen to that go on going right into the break.
00:14:56
But, um, Then again, I just want to get up and go, like, you know, find the closest name and just go rock bottom.
00:15:02
The rock bottom them somewhere.
00:15:04
But I mean, come on, be honest.
00:15:07
What would you you know, you obviously, you know, wrestled.
00:15:11
You know, as a kid, you have you had to screw around.
00:15:13
If you're a wrestling fan, you always you know, you see the logo.
00:15:16
Ah, don't try this at home.
00:15:17
You immediately went and tried what they said not to do at home.
00:15:20
Because why not? I mean, you're okay.
00:15:23
That that can't hurt.
00:15:24
Well, delivering a rock bottom was great.
00:15:27
It was so much fun.
00:15:28
Especially if you hit it right.
00:15:29
And you had the Ah, What we used to do is put the leaves the pile of leaves and put like a tarp over it, and I soft, soft landing and just kind of beat the hell out of each other.
00:15:37
Um, good memories.
00:15:39
I wouldn't do that now, though, because these injuries would be far more permanent and debilitating because of, uh, you know, little bit advanced age compared compared to be in 12 and being able to, like, run into a playground set and just get right up and be fine.
00:15:58
Yes, you.
00:15:59
We were a little more.
00:16:00
Ah, yeah, we were a little more, I think.
00:16:02
How shall we say I want to see Sadistic? Because I think that paints the wrong picture, but simply arrested rights.
00:16:10
You know Thea? Yeah, man.
00:16:14
Um but I'm not even touching that.
00:16:17
Well, the, uh the sharpshooter was always but we always ah kee trying to get someone in the sharpshooter being able to sit without hurting someone.
00:16:26
You knew you were doing it, right? Of course, we always absolutely Well, the best part of this theme song, that theme song injected into my bloodstream.
00:16:39
Where is that? That was when I was a kid that I could like Jack if you wanted the classes.
00:16:47
You know, that was a nice pivot from present to past tense, By the way, I like that.
00:16:53
So folks out there listening Mike's right on top of his grammar. That was good.
00:16:58
You know, You knew I pause the song so you couldn't speak of it as if it was playing like you started to. And then you switch.
00:17:05
Good job, Mike. I like that you're a wordsmith.
00:17:07
I notice he's absolutely That's it. I am, Yes.
00:17:10
I'm trying to slap You know that you have a struck shooter was popular.
00:17:14
That was a popular one without, especially if you could actually get it on the 1st 1,000,000 Yeah.
00:17:20
The bill in color dream can tell you how many times we tried to execute that one to have salute and confidence, but it looked goal.
00:17:28
It looked like a cool hold to try and you try to, you know, to be able to slip the hand in.
00:17:33
And it was it was it was tough.
00:17:34
It was That was a tough one.
00:17:35
But, um, those stones to were probably the ones that we used to try, you know, quite often.
00:17:40
And, of course, the Hogan big leg who didn't know on a big leg.
00:17:44
And we used to do something very similar, you know, we'd actually do that into a pile of leaves as well.
00:17:48
So I guess that was very common in the Northeast.
00:17:51
That was kind of like a makeshift wrestling ring, but yeah, we always look forward to that because we come down the key was bending your your leg and bending.
00:18:00
You need just enough.
00:18:01
So when you came down, the leg didn't quite come down on the person's throat the way like it did with Logan doing itself.
00:18:07
It was There's an art form to these things.
00:18:09
Todo experiences of trying not to hurt each other.
00:18:13
Of course, it never worked out.
00:18:14
Someone always either went home hurting or crying or whatever.
00:18:17
You know what's never It never worked out the way we wanted it to, but, you know, it's all part of the face.
00:18:23
I nearly everybody came for what? Okay, and no one had any major injuries.
00:18:27
So I look at that as a win.
00:18:29
I iron sharpens iron, my friend.
00:18:31
But would that note that we were going to take a brief, brief, brief, five minute break? And I assure you, we will be back.
00:18:38
And when we do come back, we're going to talk some NFL.
00:18:40
We're gonna talk training camp discussion and, you know, kind of go from there.
00:18:44
So folks stay tuned and, ah, we'll be back in a moment.
00:23:57
All right, folks, we are back.
00:23:59
We told you we'd be back after this commercial break and We're raring to go.
00:24:03
Mike. I hope this is getting your pumped up.
00:24:05
Are you Are you grabbing the nearest broken? Just shaking it, shaking the rope? Yeah.
00:24:10
All right.
00:24:12
Okay.
00:24:13
Now again, Way spent.
00:24:15
And okay, I got a because I really I'm going to start, like, getting wild men and felt here.
00:24:22
So, um, there we go way do spend a significant amount of time talking about wrestling cause, you know, hey, again.
00:24:29
One of our shared interest and, ah, he was certainly one of my favorites grown up.
00:24:33
And it was, you know, you get we talked about music hit you that hits and all of a sudden I mean, really, you're that that you that is really injecting into the veins.
00:24:42
You want to talk about the intensity that a guy like the warrior had Jim Hell week.
00:24:47
I think I've told this story on NBC Radio live before about Randy Sa***e and on the ultimate warrior and how they used to pump up and how they use the Eddie.
00:24:58
I mean, obviously there were, you know, Bill, things being done, you know, old and getting that right now there was some some enhancement.
00:25:06
Uh, you know performance performance enhancers that were being taken there.
00:25:10
But in any case, what they used to do before camera used to get ready to go alive is they would down in a matter of maybe, l I don't know, five minutes as many Styrofoam cups of black coffee that they possibly could.
00:25:24
And the way the warrior told the story is they used to get up to about 10 to 12 and I mean, they would, like, almost like going shots of this stuff.
00:25:34
You wanted to talk about us with our obsession with coffee.
00:25:36
We're not quite that bad.
00:25:37
No, no.
00:25:39
And and, you know, And they would just get up, get hyped up.
00:25:44
And that's why they were really, like, just over the top and just completely, completely, you know, that that's troubling for the word doesn't really describe it.
00:25:55
That's how would do it.
00:25:56
They were just such high energy, so over the top.
00:25:59
But that's one of reasons why and, uh, you know, you wonder why the two of them perished from part conditions.
00:26:05
Yes, you can't Your body can't take something like that compared to all the other stuff that they were doing it almost makes you wonder whether or not it's a modern miracle that they lasted as long as that.
00:26:16
That's exactly what I was looking right down, like I'm like, Jesus, your you know, because you think about the volume, the amount of nights that they would wrestle.
00:26:24
I mean, you know, it's sometimes would be on TV, but I mean, especially back then.
00:26:27
I mean, these guys were every night.
00:26:29
I mean, sometimes in smaller venues.
00:26:31
And, you know, obviously it wasn't as, ah ah, broadcast as it was, you know, as it is now and all that.
00:26:38
So, like, you know, these house goes and all that.
00:26:40
I mean, so you got to think like what you saw on TV, and then you add some because they were still doing this. That's that's crazy.
00:26:46
Like I mean, you know, I understand that that it takes a lot of coffee, um, to to ah certainly hurt you in a sense that, you know, you do some long term damage and your immediate damage, but like you add in again.
00:27:02
Thank you said the stuff that they were doing that we obviously know that they were doing and a lot of wrestlers and during that time were doing and you're just like I'm amazed.
00:27:10
I really am amazed that they lasted.
00:27:12
Oh, are they were, you know, they lasted as long as they did, because, yeah, that's that's incredible.
00:27:18
And they knew if they knew they were on a destructive fast, the majority of them did.
00:27:22
I wanted to Antarctica economically, an interview that Roddy Piper did with HBO, and I put him in a lot of trouble with Vince.
00:27:28
It actually got fired during his eyes, return stints to Debbie W.
00:27:33
E.
00:27:34
Where he said, Guys, I'm not gonna live past 60.
00:27:36
I actually he lived to 62.
00:27:37
He made it 22 years later, but he knew we know what he did to his body as Ah, young man was not going to sustain a long life, He said The United States, with everything that I've done, this is all the stuff that I used to take, he says.
00:27:50
I used to take drugs to sleep, and then I take drugs and wake up, you know, and and all of the things that he would he would do to his body he knew, and Piper wasn't always the over the top.
00:28:00
Um, you know, muscles bulging 90.
00:28:02
And Piper looked like an average human being.
00:28:05
And when you look at it in his prime, he always he was in good shape.
00:28:07
I'm not saying that, you know, Piper was, you know, he wasn't like Dusty here, But, I mean, at the same time, you don't look at Roddy Piper and say wow, you know, riding Teoh any time you say Dusty arrived.
00:28:25
I do apologize, Dusty.
00:28:28
I love the man even posthumously.
00:28:31
And I'm sorry.
00:28:32
I I offended Dusty.
00:28:34
That's his way of coming back and saying, Come on, man.
00:28:38
But we'll start Hill, who will, uh, will start haunting you in your sleep.
00:28:42
The list will get here.
00:28:44
Yeah, he's gonna get You're going to give me the hard time. Yeah.
00:28:47
Yeah.
00:28:48
In my opinion, folks, is one of the greatest wrestling promo off all time.
00:28:53
Um, you know, maybe people don't remember it.
00:28:56
If you do, it's all over you to go check it out.
00:28:59
You want to talk about how to cut a wrestling promo? That's how to do it.
00:29:03
Um, it just just He was a master at that.
00:29:06
He really and truly was he was Dusty was unbelievable.
00:29:09
It doing that so much to the point where right up until his death, he was training a lot of W W E athletes.
00:29:15
A lot of the new athletes that would come in on how to cut Romo's.
00:29:18
I'm not to be able to work the microphone because he was so good at it.
00:29:22
Um, again, bread hard.
00:29:23
I've read a lot on on his autobiographies, and things like that credits Dusty roads for helping him to become even adequate at his.
00:29:34
That is, ah, promote at his problems because, you know, Brett, for all intents and purposes with very good performer ring, he was great.
00:29:41
I think his best work is a little bit or not, and that respect doing.
00:29:45
But I feel like members of the United States, you know, that that's the easier due to the deal.
00:29:51
Could you just got it.
00:29:52
I think he had done with that.
00:29:53
I think it was thing for him.
00:29:55
It was a branch out of his character showed a different dimension.
00:29:58
Show that he had a little bit of an attitude, and I think he did some of his best work during that.
00:30:02
I remember some of the stuff he used to say about, uh, some of the stuff he said about, like, cities of Pittsburgh and things like that.
00:30:10
Go back and take a look at those folks.
00:30:11
I'm not gonna repeat him because I don't want I don't want to inflame anything, right? No, no, no.
00:30:16
You're some of the things that he said were some of the things that he said were pretty funny.
00:30:20
So in that that's where they are.
00:30:23
We will talk about the NFL.
00:30:25
Well, I got you.
00:30:26
See, that's the problem.
00:30:27
I gotta stop playing wrestling music whenever I get a chance to, because it always just sends us off on a tangent.
00:30:34
No, but folks ah, Mike has promised when he makes his debut on camera that he will reenact that speech.
00:30:40
Oh, are that promo from dusty roads live on camera, so its stay tuned and on Mike, I hope I didn't speak for you and, you know, commit you to something that you're not prepared to do.
00:30:50
But I'm pretty sure that's what you were thinking.
00:30:52
At least that's that's the That's the tingling I got five times promo.
00:30:56
I would be happy to do that be able to equal the intensity of be able to do him justice.
00:31:03
But I'll do the best I can, folks.
00:31:04
And, uh, yeah, I don't think you you didn't misspeak it that OK, OK, I would be happy to do that. Good.
00:31:10
Also, I'll start volunteering you for things.
00:31:13
You know, I'll start doing that for you more often than, um so just be prepared.
00:31:18
Mike, you've committed Teoh perform at this.
00:31:22
00 I have.
00:31:23
OK, all right.
00:31:24
Well, I guess I guess that was Ian committed to doing something, But no, we do want to talk about the NFL.
00:31:30
So where were we will shift over to that.
00:31:32
And, you know, there's not much going on right now.
00:31:34
Ah, you know, except that we did learn that most teams are all teams. I'm sorry.
00:31:39
Ah will have their training camp at their own team facilities.
00:31:43
Some teams already do that.
00:31:44
The patriots, for one, have been doing that for years, so that's not gonna be much of a difference.
00:31:48
Ah, but but the likelihood that the first time that these guys get together will be training camp, So 00 T A's many camps all that stuff, stuff that we kind of assumed wasn't going to happen is not going to happen.
00:32:01
So these guys will get the training camp eventually, and it will be at their team facilities.
00:32:08
And I know, um, there are some rumbling believe not according to I just actually a couple of people last night that have some connection to a lot of the decision.
00:32:18
Makings that have been made don't necessarily completely eliminate the possibility of camps that may happen throughout the month of chair in the latter part of the month of June.
00:32:30
Right now, from what I'm hearing is thes maybe voluntary.
00:32:33
They may be opportunities or used to be able to come in something very similar to, like rookie minicamp Bano T A's.
00:32:41
Those were still on the table.
00:32:42
It's unlikely, and I will say that you're probably right.
00:32:45
The first opportunity that a lot of these guys will get a chance is going to be training.
00:32:49
Can't there still a possibility on that, folks? So we'll continue to monitor that will continue to let you know as we hear anything that, of course, the NFL will definitely break that news before anybody ants does remember.
00:33:00
At least we think so.
00:33:02
But that is still on the table.
00:33:03
They are still discussing that possibility.
00:33:05
Well, that that that would be good.
00:33:06
That I mean, obviously, would be nice for good, for the work ease, you know, Imagine if anything, it would be pretty watered down, though, uh, just given, obviously the situation, even though I mean those are fairly watered down compared to training camp to begin with, it's it's, you know, again, it's it's it is what it is.
00:33:24
And it's like You will be will be happy if we start getting training camp.
00:33:27
And look, we're looking forward to hockey coming back next month.
00:33:30
Um, you know, we talked a little bit yesterday about baseball.
00:33:33
That's they're still, you know, dealing with their issues, trying to figure out what they're going to do.
00:33:38
Ah, basketball.
00:33:39
I think we all assume will return roughly around the same time hockey does.
00:33:43
I don't I don't believe that they put out any sort of formal plan yet.
00:33:47
I think they've They've discussed ideas and that's been kind of out.
00:33:50
There s so correct me if I'm wrong.
00:33:52
If they if they've had issued some sort sort of framework for a plan.
00:33:57
And please correct me.
00:33:58
Um, maybe you could talk to your source.
00:34:01
Ah, Mr Pia.
00:34:03
Um, yes.
00:34:05
Mr Media doesn't know that the source on that it was not Wikipedia, okay? And I not sign all actuality, folks, that, um, yeah, that's that is pretty much in line with what I've heard.
00:34:17
So I don't really have too much to, you know, to refute on that or anything of that nature, but yeah, I think what they're trying to do, especially when it comes from an NFL standpoint, is there trying to keep the regular season, this and the schedule, everything that they have when it comes to preseason games intact, they're trying to keep it intact.
00:34:36
It's possible they don't unsteady, meaningful time.
00:34:39
And right now the NFL has been able to do that.
00:34:42
The NFL is also very fortunate here.
00:34:44
When the Code 19 pandemic hit everything shut down, they weren't in the throngs of a CN.
00:34:48
They were in their off season.
00:34:49
It would've been very easy for them to shut down operations and say that we're gonna go ahead and move forward.
00:34:56
And they probably wouldn't have missed a beat because there really wasn't much going on the fact that they maintained free agency the fact that they maintained the NFL draft with something that I think gave people hope that we might be able to stock this on time if they could figure this out.
00:35:10
So now that plans are starting to get put into place, it puts the NFL on a good slot.
00:35:14
So we'll see what happens.
00:35:16
Um, still very optimistic at this point that we can get, you know, things going on time and just even a couple of weeks ago, I wasn't that optimistic about that.
00:35:26
But the more I see, the more I see from other leagues.
00:35:29
I think we got a shot here.
00:35:30
So, um, you know, kudos to the NFL for rougher trying to keep that, uh, going I know the week takes a lot of lumps in the national media.
00:35:38
Ah, local media, definitely up here in New England, the league officers are not exactly the most ah, sacred of places when it comes to wondering, Van.
00:35:47
But you know, doing they can right now to maintain normal in the NFL.
00:35:54
That's thing to do right now.
00:35:56
So just long as everybody stay safe.
00:35:59
And as long as everybody is is complying with the regulations, then you know we make football.
00:36:04
And we might get football pretty much on time here.
00:36:06
Yeah, and and look, I mean, if only major league baseball took the same approach with the, you know, the determined ah sense of starting the season or at least getting this season done, because again, the NFL, at the end of all this is, you know, they were fortunate enough.
00:36:21
I mean, not only that, it happened during the off season, but this all happened after the Super Bowl.
00:36:29
I mean, we're talking about something that could, you know, obviously drastically changed things if if there was a month shift difference in terms of how this kind of, you know all unfolded.
00:36:39
So you know, the NFL was very fortunate, but they're taking advantage of it.
00:36:42
They were.
00:36:43
They've been determined since day 12 to complete the season as a Z on schedule as possible.
00:36:49
Obviously there are things that they've had to change, but, you know, credit to them and and and look, you know, there's a lot of things you can criticize the NFL for and and for good reason.
00:36:59
I mean, we're not certainly, ah, giving them any sort of, ah, you know, pass for some of the things that they do and certainly have done.
00:37:11
But, you know, in terms of ownership and the league, they wanted to get this done.
00:37:16
The players wanted to get this done.
00:37:18
Um, and And look, you know, they're setting up pretty well.
00:37:21
And I saw a headline what, yesterday, You know, talking about the potential of having ah, vaccine as early as 2021.
00:37:29
And now all of a sudden you're looking at it like Okay, now I can see a more clear path toe how we do get back to normal, i e with fans with, you know, without taking these severe precautions, which which are necessary right now, because we don't have that.
00:37:45
So ah, And look, if if that's the case, if it plays out that way, all of a sudden, the NFL's really not gonna miss a beat at all.
00:37:52
Um, aside from you know, the fan absence, which we assume will happen this upcoming season, at least for the most part.
00:37:58
Um, yeah.
00:38:01
I mean, who knows? I mean, but you're talking maybe by early 2021.
00:38:06
Well, maybe that means you have fans in Tampa.
00:38:08
Turned the Super Bowl.
00:38:09
You know what I mean? Maybe that is the case, so yeah, we'll see e.
00:38:15
I mean, I think I legitimate shot at in terms of fans in the stands, folks.
00:38:20
I mean, that's something that is going to have to be that that decision is actually Mawr taken out of the NFL's ends.
00:38:27
It's taken mawr out of the league's hands than anything else.
00:38:29
A lot of that is gonna be determined by national regulation, state regulations, things of that nature.
00:38:35
Ah, with regard to how many people are allowed to congregate in a certain spot at one time.
00:38:40
What type of social distancing guidelines are going to be in place, if any? You know, we're talking about February, so I mean, still in June.
00:38:47
There's still a long ways away to that.
00:38:49
So I think there's a lot of optimism that that could be the case, and maybe the things can return mid season are I've even heard fans returning for playoff games? Um, I heard someone make a nascent and comment the other day about Oh, it's gonna be, you know, the playoffs.
00:39:03
And because the play of the playoffs are gonna be done in the winter and the cold is going to kill the germs.
00:39:07
Well, that doesn't quite work out that way.
00:39:09
You don't know where these playoff things gonna be. Blade.
00:39:11
You know, that's that's pretty.
00:39:12
But this is today on these.
00:39:14
That this is this is a national talk show, but I'm not gonna get into that.
00:39:18
Why, You know, it made me want to bang my head against the wall, But no, no, don't wait.
00:39:24
You on the lips argument, But, uh but in any case, you know, when it comes to, ah to that, it's those types of things are going to be out of the NFL's hand.
00:39:37
So the fact that we're going to get action back to on the field and it looks like we're moving in the direction of having that start on time is a huge development and that combined with the fact that basketball and hockey a really close to developing plans where they're going to get back to action, um, sports is is once again going to be a big part of what we do and This could be an interesting summer summer like no other where you have hockey deep into the summer.
00:40:04
You have basketball deep into the summer and you have to start a football.
00:40:07
Could be an exciting time for those three sports, especially with the country really needing.
00:40:11
Like I said, something to bring us together into rally around and to, ah, give us an opportunity to take a break from the heartbreak.
00:40:21
And I think, you know, sports is in a unique position to be able to do that.
00:40:25
It's not gonna take away the problems, any of the problems, regardless of what they are that people are suffering right now.
00:40:30
But at least it can give a little bit of diversion and a little bit of hope and a platform to a lot of these in athletes that have a lot to say about it.
00:40:37
You know how I can bring this back to the Rock Road quickly.
00:40:40
Heartbreak Heartbreak Hotel, the Smackdown Hotel, the rock.
00:40:45
The most electrifying man in sports entertainment.
00:40:47
See out.
00:40:48
See how that works? See how that connection is made? Um, no.
00:40:51
Like I well, since rocks maybe left him, found a new place to dwell.
00:40:57
It's done at the end of your Brody driver sparked.
00:41:00
All right, there we go, folks.
00:41:03
Mike will be coming out with a feature length album.
00:41:06
He's gonna have 14 full cover songs available.
00:41:09
Ah, I will choose the songs that he covers that will be one of them.
00:41:12
And it will be It'll be fantastic.
00:41:14
So once again, I am speaking for him and committing him to something that could Sorry, could do We could reenact that we could reenact the rock concert.
00:41:21
I could get out.
00:41:22
I could get a guitar.
00:41:25
I'm gonna Sacramento.
00:41:27
Sacramento.
00:41:28
I think we are just a It just ah ah power plant of great idea.
00:41:37
I mean, the great idea is just flowing out of the show.
00:41:39
The last two episodes of Just Fantastic.
00:41:42
Not only have we ah ah, you created a new a segment that involves my friend and in the use of his last name and the pronunciation of his last name in a very, ah punny manner.
00:41:53
But look, we're going to reenact something for here, and I'm all for it.
00:41:58
I'm okay making the ass of myself on camera.
00:42:01
So you know, that's all right.
00:42:03
But I can do it.
00:42:04
I could up w you know, I have no shame.
00:42:08
Flat bars the rock.
00:42:10
But here's the thing, though you have to This is gonna have to be done when you are on camera.
00:42:17
So well, we will figure that out when it happens.
00:42:20
And again we will bring it to you.
00:42:21
We will bring you the rock concert reimagined for 2020 and we will see how quickly let me lose viewers.
00:42:30
Who knows I might I might have been put our own stamp on it.
00:42:33
Maybe instead of saying that eight Return a song to which original title of Kansas City and uh oh, I don't know I regard way Don't know to what great regard I hold that knocking on a little kidding aside, folks, I'm not gonna go there.
00:42:51
And then we'll say, Well maintained, my positivity, We'll save that for the football season when we can really let loose.
00:42:56
But no, you know, you mentioned it.
00:42:58
The fall, the summer, late summer, early fall is shaping up to be Ah, if everything goes well, a pretty action packed few months, something that isn't you know, You know the fall is usually pretty great because we're getting football anyways, and that's always a big deal.
00:43:12
And, you know, baseball is generally getting close to the playoffs.
00:43:15
So you know, even the more casual fan is more, uh, you know, interested because because the product is good.
00:43:21
Um, but this year we're going to get Stanley Cup playoffs, MBA playoffs, football starting, and we'll see about baseball.
00:43:30
It might be, Ah, it might be delayed, but it might also be, um, really get into the swing of things at that point.
00:43:37
So we're gonna have four sports going concurrently, which I think is pretty awesome.
00:43:42
Um, yeah, it to two of which would be in playoff mode, and one would be approaching playoffs and the other is just football.
00:43:50
And it's pretty awesome anytime it here.
00:43:52
So, no, absolutely, you're you're absolutely right.
00:43:57
I mean, to the fact that football is actually close to getting back on the field is something that again, up until even about two weeks ago, I didn't think was going to be a really be realistic possibility, at least not in the least, not in the short term.
00:44:14
I believe that if they were going to start the season, and it wasn't going to be until at least October at the earliest.
00:44:19
I figured training camps were gonna be 70.
00:44:22
You're talking.
00:44:25
It was a chance that you might see an entire season without any fans at all.
00:44:28
Now they're still inoperative.
00:44:29
Still a chance that we might see fans in the stands much later than sooner.
00:44:33
But the fact that the action on the field guns can get back going will be interesting.
00:44:37
The one thing I didn't send you press release an awful lot with Well, I know, I was just gonna say, just adding in the fact that in September I mean, you have the potential have all for these where it's going, Um, you know that that's exciting.
00:44:51
That's that.
00:44:52
You know, that's that to me, is what I'm looking forward to.
00:44:54
And, you know, again, if it baseball gets their act together, they should be playing at that time.
00:44:59
And, you know, we assume that, um, hockey and basketball will be continuing to be played, you know, late into August and early September.
00:45:09
So should be a fun, fun month.
00:45:13
It should be.
00:45:14
I mean, think about that for a second you mentioned about and you mentioned previously about all four sports going at the same time together.
00:45:22
That's something that's extremely rare, especially when it comes to meaningful games.
00:45:26
Yeah, there were times where they overlap and the sports are playing and there's all kinds of action going on.
00:45:32
But usually it's the beginning of the hockey season, the beginning of the basketball season.
00:45:37
Baseball is just ready to end.
00:45:39
Football is kind of in their in their mixes.
00:45:41
Well, so there's a lot going on.
00:45:43
But we could have meaningful playoff scenarios happening in three out of the four major sports at the same time.
00:45:50
And of course, football game is always happening.
00:45:52
And I think the argument that every game is a playoff game.
00:45:56
I mean, there's such an anticipation every week.
00:45:59
It's always, you know, heightened when it comes to the NFL.
00:46:02
So the sports that we've missed for quite a while could end up coming back and coming back strong.
00:46:08
This could be an opportunity for all four major sports.
00:46:11
You hope that Major League Baseball is able to take a little bit of progress that they've been making over the last couple of days in trying.
00:46:17
I think to listen to the public and exactly what they're clamoring before you hope that it's it's ableto workout.
00:46:24
It'd be a real travesty from Major league baseball to lose the season.
00:46:27
I don't think anybody wants that.
00:46:29
At the end of the day, I don't think that's what will happen, but they're gonna have to make some concessions.
00:46:33
So come together.
00:46:34
Do what you have to do and get, Ah, get the boys back on the field because we need.
00:46:38
We do need baseball in this country right now as we need hockey as my need.
00:46:42
Football as we need basketball when we need him, All I ideo I get up pretty early.
00:46:47
I'm usually, or at least this past week or so.
00:46:49
I've been up at five o'clock every morning and I I get to catch some of the Kubo Curry and baseball organization.
00:46:56
They're you know, they have it up on the TV and on ESPN or what not.
00:47:00
So, yeah, that's the thing.
00:47:01
I you know, I would love to see some baseball.
00:47:03
I'd love to see any any sport I think we've Ah, certainly it's gotten easier, I guess, to to wait it out.
00:47:11
But at the same time, I think people are getting antsy because of the potential, and, you know, we'll see.
00:47:15
But now we're gonna be there to cover it and to talk about it as soon as it happens.
00:47:20
But before we wrap up the show, here it again.
00:47:22
Like I said, we have to cut it off a little bit early.
00:47:24
Mike's got a very important, important, important, very, very, very, very, very important meeting to make sure that his statue is nice.
00:47:32
Shined up real nice, bronzed up, you know, polished everything like that.
00:47:37
He's got to inspect and make sure it's good.
00:47:39
Make sure it doesn't come looking like one of those really off head busts from like the Hall of Fame.
00:47:45
You know, every so often, we get one that just does not look like the person, um that it's supposed to be.
00:47:51
And I I think this time it's going to look like Michael released.
00:47:55
Let's hope, let's hope Well, actually, it's going T o be the head of the bus is actually be superimposed.
00:48:04
Just Thea, it's No, it is.
00:48:06
It's going to be the exact picture that you see on your screen right now.
00:48:10
on the phone, and that's it.
00:48:12
That's going to be my statue is going to be my It's going to be that picture with the words on the phone right next to it. I like it.
00:48:19
I like it.
00:48:20
And maybe we'll put an FBC logo up there. Tools.
00:48:22
We'll see.
00:48:23
But the FTC logos right there, it's right.
00:48:24
It's right front, front and center.
00:48:26
I wouldn't have had a statue dedicated if it didn't have that will go on.
00:48:28
Well, maybe like a tattoo on your forehead.
00:48:31
No, that's right. Absolutely.
00:48:33
This space for rent.
00:48:34
Yeah.
00:48:35
No, I'm talking on the outside, Not in the inside.
00:48:37
Well, we gotta find other things to fill that space.
00:48:40
But no, no, no, no.
00:48:43
That's that's reserved.
00:48:45
That's reserved solely for is ah, promo recall and and all the useless.
00:48:53
My Ronnie thank Field and yeah, that's well that that's that.
00:48:58
That's well occupied.
00:48:59
Yeah.
00:49:00
No, it's It's that, but no.
00:49:01

00:47:39
